A General Description of Sailing Yacht ANTARA

This sailing yacht ANTARA is a superyacht of spacious proportions. This 47 m (153 ft) luxury yacht was a new build that was completed by at Perini Navi in 1991. ANTARA was previously registered as the project or yacht name Tamsen ; Liberty. The yacht is a modern ketch motor sailer. Superyacht ANTARA is a upscale yacht that is able to sleep up to 12 passengers on board and has around 10 crew. The naval architecture office whom authored her design work with respect to this ship was Perini Navi. Perini Navi was also responsible for this boat's interior styling.

The Construction & Design of Luxury Yacht ANTARA

The yacht's general design work came from Perini Navi. The formal naval architect intellectual property are a products of Perini Navi. Sailing Yacht ANTARA received her elegant interior designing from the interior design company of Perini Navi. Italy is the country that Perini Navi constructed their new build sailing yacht in. After the formal launch in 1991 in Viareggio she was released to the yacht owner after sea trials. The main hull was built out of steel. The sailing yacht main superstructure is fabricated extensively with aluminium. With a width of 9.21 metres / 30.2 feet ANTARA has fairly large interior. She has a fairly deep draught of 5.97m (19.6ft). She had refit maintenance and alteration work undertaken in 2008.

Engines & Speed For S/Y ANTARA:

This boat has twin quality MTU diesel engine(s) and can drive at a comparatively good continuous speed of approximately 14 knots. The engine of the yacht produces 640 horse power (or 471 kilowatts). Her total HP is 1280 HP and her total Kilowatts are 942. ANTARA is propelled by twin screw propellers. For thrusters she utilises Berg. The boat’s reasonable cruise speed is 12 knots which offers a range of 3000.

Superyacht ANTARA Accommodations:

Providing cabins for a maximum of 12 yacht guests sleeping aboard, the ANTARA accommodates everyone luxuriously. Under normal conditions she uses circa 10 capable yacht crew to manage.

The beautiful 46 meters sailing yacht ANTARA is an excellent charter yacht built by Perini Navi. She combines technology and performance and is a real treat for those who appreciate comfortable cruising in style and luxury. Completed in October 2011, ANTARA has received numerous updates both mechanical and design’s.

Her interior and exterior spaces have been completely renovated and now she shows off a more contemporary look, with new furniture, mattresses, upholstery, paint and furniture. She also has all new sails (2011) including a MPS (2007), a flybridge extended with a large jacuzzi, cushions and gas barbecue. A swim platform extends from the transom to facilitate easy entry into the water. A fresh water shower is available on the platform.

ANTARA has underwater lights that create a soft light in the sea during the night all around the yacht. A Kaleidescape entertainment system, with a large flat screen, was installed in the main hall and in the cockpit. A satellite communication system allows fast access to the Internet via Wi-Fi throughout the yacht.

She can accommodate up to 8 charter guests in four newly varnished satin teak staterooms with ensuite heads. The full width Master suite with king bed, his and her bath and new steam shower includes a large office area and will include a stationary bike and weights custom fit into an armoire for a private gym area. A VIP stateroom with queen bed and 2 twin cabins with extra large twin berths and pullmans. ANTARA is a very comfortable and elegant yacht, boasting all new linens, marble and decor.

A distinguished yacht, throughout her life, the 150-foot Perini Navi sailing yacht Antara, built in 1991, has always been maintained to the highest standards.

ANTARA can accommodate 10 guests in four newly varnished satin teak staterooms with en-suite heads. In 2014, she underwent a refit and received new generators, a complete rebuild of her main engines, leather panels, new covers and carpets, a new sofa and barbecue on the sun deck and more. She offers a state-of-the-art Kaleidescape AV System, Sky TV (in the Med) and DVD players in each Cabin and Main Salon.

Her full-width master suite with King size bed, his-and-her bath and new steam shower, and also includes a large office area and cleverly concealed exercise area with a stationary bike and weights custom fit into an armoire. Mega Yacht Charter brief: Super yacht Antara (46m / 151’) is a Perini Navi sailing yacht, built in 1991 and underwent a last refit in 2007.  It received a new interior, an extended flybridge with Jacuzzi, new rigging, sails and new teak decks. Finally, in 2011 her masts were repainted and she received a new sail inventory.  Luxury yacht charter boat Antara usually accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 guest staterooms, although additional 4 guests may be accepted.

Tip:     Super yacht Antara has a lovely aft swim platform which is rare on yacht charter boats of this size built in the early 1990’s. 

About Super Yacht ANTARA:  Super yacht Antara (46m / 151’ ) is a very modern yacht.  During its latest refit, apart from major updates, she also received new facilities such as barbecue, underwater camera, state of the art Kaleidoscope entertainment system and a high speed internet.  Her aft cockpit is now a perfect place to sample luxury menu served on board or simply sip afternoon cocktails before your next informal diner or al fresco cinema. Master Suite on the yacht charter boat Antare is spread across the full width of the yacht, with his and her Italian marble lined bath and steam shower. The yacht includes an office area as well as cleverly concealed mini gym.

Best feature: Her aft transom swim platform allows for easy access to the sea or tender.

Awards: Super yacht Antara got awards at Superyacht Cup in Palma 2009, the St. Barths Bucket and the Perini Navi Cup 2006 & 2009 which clearly shows this boat is a fantastic sailing yacht as well as a great choice for your next luxury crewed charter.

Accommodation: Superyacht Antara can accommodate up to 12 persons on board. The cabin layout is as follows: 1 x Master (full beam), with his and her Italian marble lined bath and steam shower includes an office area and cleverly concealed mini gym. 1 VIP cabin, with queen bed, 2 Twin cabin (both plus 2 X Pullman) located port and starboard with matching twin bed accommodations and Pullman berths

Perini Navi super yacht Antara (46m/151’) accommodates up to 12 guests in 4 cabins.  She normally cruises around the West Med in the summer and the Eastern Caribbean in the winter.  On top, she can be booked for racing events such as Perini Navi cup or Super Cup in Palma at times.  A true luxury yacht charter vessel she is always kept in meticulous condition and ready to welcome charter guests in a very flexible manner.  Her best features are flexible accommodation, eight dedicated crew members including a captain, very good value and modern facilities usually not found on boat of this age and size, ensuring you will get the best luxury yacht charter experiences.

Accommodation

Perini Navi Antara charter boat can accommodate up to 12 guests on board.  There are 2 pullman beds in two twin cabins and sitting room in the Master cabin can be converted into additional bedroom.  The two Pullman berths are suitable for children or smaller adults only.   Crew quarters and the crew mess and service facilities are located below decks forward, dedicated to a professional and friendly crew of 9 .

Antara is a custom sailing yacht launched in 1991 by Perini Navi, in Italy and most recently refitted in 2023.

Credited with a combination of technical brilliance and first class design, Perini Navi has always been in a class of its own. In 1982, unable to find a yacht suited to his personal concepts and ideas, Fabio Perini designed and built the first prototype of what would prove to be the most successful series of large sailing yachts in the world.

Antara measures 46.33 metres in length, with a max draft of 3.35 metres and a beam of 9.14 metres. She has a gross tonnage of 370 tonnes.

Antara has a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure.

Her interior design is by Perini Navi.

Antara also features naval architecture by Perini Navi.

Performance and Capabilities

Antara has a top speed of 14.00 knots and a cruising speed of 10.00 knots. She is powered by a twin screw propulsion system.

Antara has a fuel capacity of 41,100 litres, and a water capacity of 10,100 litres.

She also has a range of 4,500 nautical miles.

Antara accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 cabins. She also houses room for up to 98 crew members.

10 below deck charter guests who will never return to the franchise.

While the charter guests who appear on Below Deck have a great time while filming the show, many aren't invited back for a number of reasons.

• Some charter guests on Below Deck have caused unnecessary drama and won't likely return due to bad behavior.
• Captain Glenn Shephard from Below Deck Sailing Yacht faced backlash from Barrie, who called him two-faced.
• Former guest Dr. Francis Martinis will not return to Below Deck after he was arrested for faking prescriptions.

The Below Deck franchise has featured many charter guests since 2013, many of whom will never return . The Bravo series focuses on expensive charters with wealthy guests who have attitude problems and over-the-top demands. That includes Charter guest Alexis Bellino, who boarded Captain Lee Rosbach’s yacht with her boyfriend at the time, Andy Bohn. She was disrespectful and made everyone uncomfortable with her and Andy's PDA. She even insulted crew members after featuring on the show.

Like Alexis, Delores Flora from Below Deck season 8 was a terrible guest. Not only did she misbehave, but she also got drunk and s wam while intoxicated, which is not only not allowed, it frightened the crew members. Delores got kicked out of the yacht the next day. These guests created unnecessary drama on the boat and will likely never return like a few others from the franchise.

8 barrie & tony, below deck sailing yacht.

Barrie and Tony Drewitt Barlow had a decent time in the Below Deck Sailing Yacht seasons 2 and 3. Despite that, they left with a bitter taste because of Captain Glenn Shephard. In 2021, Barrie participated in a podcast, Pita Party: The Podcast , where he claimed that Captain Glenn bothered him while using his phone .

Barrie said, “he (Captain Glenn) was a two-face b*stard,” adding that he just didn’t like his presence.

7 Frank Fay

Below deck mediterranean.

In Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, Charter guest Frank Fay had a thing for second stew Kyle Viljoen. He pursued him on the yacht, but unfortunately, their relationship didn’t last. Frank will likely never return to the series as long as Captain Sandy Yawn allows Kyle to work for her. Even if Kyle quits, Frank wouldn’t want to be in an environment that would remind him of his failed relationship.

6 Erica Rose

Erica Rose appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht two seasons in a row. Erica was highly offensive toward the crew member, as well as her husband, Charles Sanders, and to make things worse, she left the crew with a measly tip , leading fans to slam her on social media. Ultimately, Erica had to apologize for her bad attitude but never returned to give the crew the tip they deserved. Nobody on Below Deck Sailing Yacht would ever want to return.

5 Justin Guarini

Justin Guarini’s time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht was not dramatic at all; however, he’ll probably never return to the series. Justin wouldn’t return because he wasn't the primary guest. He joined his friend, Kim, who wanted to enjoy a luxury yacht trip. It was more of a one-and-done deal. Secondly, nobody recognized him at all. Viewers later realized who he was and how he was the runner-up on American Idol season 1. Justin is a theatre artist and has made a name for himself. However, it was embarrassing that so many fans had no clue who he was .

4 johnny damon.

Johnny Damon’s time at Below Deck Med was full of explosive moments. Once, he sent the food back, citing that the experience wasn’t “five stars.” On another occasion, his wife, Michelle, created drama by yelling at the owner of another yacht . Overall, the experience was simply terrible on both sides. Crew members didn’t love Johnny and his wife, and the couple didn’t respect the crew members. It is unlikely that Captain Sandy would want to host the couple again as long as she’s in charge.

3 Krystal Murphy

Former charter guest Krystal Murphy boarded Captain Lee’s yacht with her friends. She immediately began showing red flags, drinking, and just being a menace. Krystal fought with her friend, Chelsea, creating unnecessary drama. She even passed out and punched a friend in the face. Former Chief Stew Kate Chastain disliked serving Krystal and called her a “spoiled brat;” she wanted to throw her off the yacht. Nowadays, Krystal has seemingly become a more private person. It doesn’t seem like Krystal would want to be on TV again.

2 Steve Bradley

Below Deck fans should remember Steve Bradley as he made many appearances on the show. In Below Deck season 3, he wanted a foam party and demanded the crew to figure it out and follow his commands, acting like a king. In Below Deck season 6, Steve made more outrageous requests. Apart from being a wild guest, Steve was entitled and acted inappropriately at times . No Below Deck captain would want to host him again as he didn't come off as very likable.

1 Dr. Francis Martinis

Dr. Francis Martinis from Below Deck Med and Below Deck Sailing Yacht has a zero chance of returning. While the former charter guest didn’t have too many issues on the show, his personal life issues will stop him from appearing on Bravo again. According to TMZ , Dr. Francis and his wife, Jessica, were arrested for filling out fake prescriptions in December 2023 . The couple used the names of Below Deck stars and got caught red-handed. The Below Deck franchise would never want to welcome felons, especially when their mugshots are all over the internet.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
