New Maverick 400
I have looked at a number of catamarans in the 38 to 44 foot size. I initially was not keen on the Maverick as it is a new boat and I was not sure if I liked the look of the design mockups. When it won the SA boat of the year I had a closer look. It looks stunning in real life, the quality of the mouldings and has to be seen to be believed.

From the day we gave naval architect Phil Southwell the design specs for the new Maverick 400, we knew she will be a winner. The detailed design and rendering from Phil was amazing. The yacht is well-tooled and moulds of the highest quality. The Maverick 400 is a comfortable long range cruiser with good performance.

Posts: 2,449. Re: Maverick 440. It would appear that this boat was so poorly/inadequately built/engineered that it is incapable of being repaired. Most of these cracks are stress cracks, indicative of a boat that is structurally inadequate and that has been flexing/wracking to an incredible degree.

That allows you to bring the boom more forward or let the sail billow out more by loosening the backstay on the lee side. Also gives better support when flying a chute running downwind. We have them on our Voyage 470.
