We booked thru our hotel and had a shuttle to coco beach. They are very organized and friendly boat staff. Great music, food and drinks. We saw flying fish, dolphins and stingrays. Ended with a beautiful sunset. We went on a Sunday and had 28 ppl on catamaran...I would go again!

We had a great trip, from prompt pick up on the shore to viewing the beautiful sunset and return to Coco beach. The food was good, crew was attentive, vessel was spotless too. I would highly recommend the trip to anyone wanted to have a great day of beautiful scenery.

What an absolutely fantastic day. There were almost 50 of us on board plus the crew. There is so much space that it never felt crowded once. These amazing men took care of us better than we ever could have expected - felt like Queens and Kings on our ship. The food was delicious, drinks were non-stop and the sights were breathtaking. Could not have picked a better thing to do!

This was by far the best organized tour that I have ever been on. The crew was courteous and helpful; especially Johann Gutierrez. As a Master Diver, he gave me tips on where and how to maximize my snorkeling experience on his waters..EVERYONE was treated like family. I highly recommend that you sign up for the 4 hour sunset tour. Lazy Lizard staff is very professional from the time that they pick you up until the time that they drop you off (if you are within their area). The entire experience was fabulous! You get a great boat ride out to the bay with beautiful views of the Guanacaste area. You get drinks, music, food and the opportunity to snorkel, kayak or standup paddleboard in the bay. The staff on board assist you while you walk and in the water, and they are very attentive to all of your needs. They made sure that all of us on board were very happy.

Selecting the private tropical sunset catamaran trip seemed like the right idea for us. The bus picked us up right on tim and brought us to our boat about 20-30 minutes away. The second we got on the boat we were welcomed by the crew and they were absolutely awesome. They were always making sure we had drinks in hand and were always aware of safety when each of us were walking around the boat. The snorkeling stop was awesome and then.... THE FOOD. Truly unbelievable food was prepared for us, it was honestly incredible and delicious and there was more than enough to feed everyone. After the meal we started heading back to the beach and the sunset was one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. The price was absolutely worth this amazing day. The perfect trip for you, your family or group companions.

Our totally private sailing tour depart daily with a few days of previous notice if possible.

All the tours include sodas, bottled water, fresh juice and fruits, and abundant snacks, chips and dip, and if requested, lunch with an additional charge.

All the trips include snorkeling gear, stops at a perfect pristine spot ideal for snorkeling and the enjoyment of secluded beautiful beaches,

Ocean kayaks, paddle boards are also free of charge ( please advice ). Scuba diving can be included with extra charge.

Pick up transportation from the hotel or condo to the docks and back is also included in the final price. Departure around 8 AM and return around noon

Sunset Tour

Our suggested tour departure time is 1:30, with a later afternoon return around 6:00.

The tour includes very good food and drinks onboard, including beer, sodas, water, fruits and juicy, Rum, Vodka, Whiskey and cocktails and snacks, normally dips and chips, but also might be Burritos.

Lunch can also be included with an extra charge. The tour includes snorkeling while anchoring at a secret beach and reef spot, away from the crowds.

Discover the marine wildlife, the colorful fish, enjoy SUP or sea kayaking. Or if you are less interested in adventure and sports, just relax, sunbathe, talk, enjoy the breeze and the unforgettable scenery. The highlight ? The amazing sunsets seen from the open ocean.

The full day sailing tour departs early in the morning.

Sailing away from the coast at around 8AM, we will first head out to open ocean, while silently sailing along the coast near and around rocky islets, reefs and rocky pinnacles to a secluded beach.

After anchoring, people can enjoy endless snorkeling in these pristine waters, sea kayaking around the coast, or go for some occasional fishing.

Meanwhile, for those staying onboard, comfort is there… spacious seating areas, large salon and table, spacious deck for sunbathing or sightseeing.

Enjoy delicious snacks and food, fresh fruit, drinks, cocktails, a cold beer, bottled water or sodas. A delicious lunch is also included.

Choose from many destinations to visit, from Murcielago Islands, to exotic and untouched beaches. After finalizing the experience of watching the sunsets from the ocean, we will head back to the hotel.

Riu Place and Riu Guanacaste are perfect hotels for private sailing tour departures, both hotels are located right on the beach for a perfect pick up.

We have a list of boats available, from smaller catamarans to larger ones ( up to 90 passengers ) as well as sailboats.

We offer private tours only, including half days in the morning, half days in the afternoon to watch the sunsets as well as full day private 8 hour trips and even overnight charters. If staying at Riu, we will pick you up right on the beach.

Great snack foods after an hour in the ocean. It was my first time snorkeling in Costa Rica, and the guide was fantastic to direct us to great underwater seal life. Opened up a new wowed swimming with schools of fish. The sunset was awesome and a great boat wide toast with wonderful Costa Rican liquor shots. Would do this trip over and over again. They have a morning excursion too. Both tours have private transportation to and from the boat landing. Morning & Afternoon Tour Information

We have two type of tours, a morning and an afternoon.   The morning catamaran tour is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. while the afternoon sunset catamaran tour is from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.   In both tours, we include transportation, fruits, snacks, drinks, and a lunch or dinner, as well as the snorkeling equipment for adults and children.

For those who are unfamiliar with a Trimaran, it is very similar to a Catamaran.   In fact the only big difference between the two, is that the Trimaran has a main hull and two smaller outrigger hulls, while a Catamaran has two hulls.

One of the highlights of your tour is snorkeling, while at anchor in a beautiful Jungle Bay. All of your snorkel gear is provided by the crew of Sunset Sails. A guide will lead you to the reef, which is home to many species of beautiful and fascinating fish. If you float cracker crumbs, you’ll be amazed, as schools of fish dart all around you, in a feeding frenzy. Parrotfish, damselfish, sargeant majors, wrasses, puffers and many more beautiful fish abound on the reef. If you have an underwater camera, you might want to bring it with you.

As your boat glides through the water, you will likely encounter Dolphins, which love to swim in our bow wake. Occasional Giant Sea Turtles and whales are a special treat, when they appear.

It is always a thrill to see the reaction from our guests when we encounter dolphins on our Manuel Antonio Coastal Boat Cruise . The dolphins that are most frequently seen are the Spotted Dolphin, Bottlenose Dolphin and Snipper Dolphin.

For those interested in viewing the Humpback Whale, the best time to see this magnificent mammal is from August through the end of October.  We have written an article about our whale watching cruise in Manuel Antonio .

Of course, one of the real highlights of our Sunset Cruise, is the Sunset. As the sun sets into the ocean horizon, it often creates spectacularly beautiful displays of color. It’s a perfect, romantic ending to a beautiful day in “Paradise”.
