Ionian Islands

  • Information

Gulet Charter in the Ionian.

The Ionian islands are a group of seven main islands that are located on the western coast of Greece. These islands are beautiful and are full of pine forests, lush olive groves and orange orchards that are not found on the other islands. Most of the sailing conditions are calm and predictable, which means that you could sail your luxury yacht during any time of the year depending on your preferences. There are miles of beaches that make this area perfect for almost everyone.

The island of Zakynthos (often referred to as Zante), is a very popular party island for tourists that is a great place if you’re looking for nightclubs, live music and a ton of water activities. It is also the only place in the world to see loggerhead sea turtles in their natural habitat.

There are many other islands that are worth visiting including Corfu, Paxi, Lefkada, Ithaki, Kefalonia, and Kythira. The entire island chain is split into the north and south islands, but can all be visited on a two-week luxury yacht charter.

Our main periods are:

  • Peak period  (July, August)
  • Shoulder period  (June, September)
  • Low period  (May, October)

The below-stated prices are subject to change without any notice. Keep in mind, that as the departure date of the sailing tour comes closer, the prices might increase, so it is wise to book in advance and secure the cheapest price possible! Once you have paid your 20% deposit, the remaining price of your option stays as it is!

In case of any price increase/decrease, you will be informed in time, accordingly.

  • Prices fluctuate regularly, in line with the demand. Our Price Promise ensures clients, who book early, that they will never have to pay more, than those who book quite after them

All our standard cabins besides, their comfortable mattresses, are ensuite with their own shower, a hair dryer, a wardrobe for storage, reading lights, their own individual A/C device and an electric fan!

Regarding our cabins, we do have a variety of doubles/twins (lower beds/bunk beds) and a few triples and quads, depending on your cruise package and demand.

Our premium cabins are available on the majority of our gulets, always subject to availability. By premium cabin we define cabins that have a separate shower box inside the wc and/or larger space available ( usually2/3 s.m.) from our standard ones. Usually they are located on the stern or the bow of the ship, making them slightly more isolated than the rest of the cabins onboard and they have better sound insulation that the rest since they are bigger.

The only additional charge you need to expect is the local port fees (80€ per person), which need to be paid upon arrival, in order to assure some basic operational needs for the cruise.

If you want to have your own private cabin, there will be an extra charge of 75% of the total amount of 1 person’s price.

We always try to allocate same-gender guests, together (this applies to our solo travelers), however, we cannot guarantee this under unexpected situations.

Our Corfu cruise starts on Saturdays, at 17:00. Disembarkation, also takes place on Saturdays, exactly one week after embarkation, at 09:00.

With this in mind, we start our journey from Corfu’s Old Port, which is full of Greek tavernas, local product markets and plenty of antique shops.

Apart from that, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed “Old Town” offers a unique scenic experience, given its architecture and general structure which is quite unique!

Note: In case that all of our guests are on board by 17:00 and weather conditions allow us to, we might cruise towards our 1st destination which is Plataria.

Sivota - Mourtos

The Ionian Islands are the wettest of the Greek islands, so forget about the typical rugged, rocky coasts of Greece.

The Ionian Sea will amaze you with its lush forests, green hills covered with olive groves, crystal clear waters and sparkling white beaches! You can find this descriptive scenery, hidden among the Sivota – Mourtos Islands, which are located south of Corfu’s mainland.

We arrive here, on the second day and while we are at this island complex, we need to visit its highlights, the blue lagoon and the famous Papanikolis cave!

Later into the day, don’t miss out on strolling through the traditional Marina village and before you leave, be sure to grab something to eat and drink from the numerous idyllic tavern-lined tavernas, which are located on the marina, above the shore!

⚓️ Plataria oil tasting

Parga has been described as one of the most beautiful villages in Greece and undoubtingly, as the most beautiful in the Ionian Sea!

With its two crystal clear bays, each on both sides of the village, its famous Venetian castle, and its numerous bars and water sports facilities, Parga is a must-see for your summer holidays!

Grab your hats and sunglasses, put on plenty of sunscreen and prepare to create some forever-lasting Greek summer memories, at this beautiful, picturesque destination!

Note: Due to Parga’s undeveloped-port infrastructure, there is not plenty of available space, on the marina, which means, that in case the gulet does not manage to dock at the port, you will need to use a water taxi, to reach the shore. The cost, for this, is not included in the overall price package!

⚓️Parga wine tasting

The small island of Antipaxos is a true hidden gem and will be, a one-of-a-kind experience, for you!

While here, we fuel up with lunch, before stopping for some coastal relaxation, at some of the island’s most secluded and tranquil bays, which are home to the famous Greek beaches of Voutoumi and Vrika!

You will have the chance, to snorkel, in the turquoise waters and feel the pebbles under your feet! Take a walk amongst the clifftop and visit one of the three main towns – Gaios, Loggos or Lakka.

Later in the night, we dine at a pop-up beachfront tavern, on a private beach off the public-main coast, and admire the sparkling night sky, from our gulet’s deck!

Note: The late-night dinner, is not included in the initial package price.

Paxos - Gaios

Until recently, Paxos was best known for its excellent olive oil, which is rumored to be one of the world’s, best varieties!

Enjoy the lush green scenery of this tiny island, by renting a bicycle or a bike and head to any of its secluded coves to spend an idyllic summer afternoon, while sunbathing and swimming!

After returning to the city, enjoy some traditional local Greek seafood or even Meze, at one of the many local taverns, which are run by the local fishermen!

⚓️Paxoi Bus Tour

Lakka - Paxos

This part of Paxos Island is packed with secluded coves and sea caves. A true dream, for any sea explorer!

Lakka is home to a small but vibrant village with shallow waters, known as a diving hotspot, for those who want to discover the Ionian Sea, by exploring its underwater wonders!

With multiple bars and tavernas, off the coast, Lakka is the epitome of Greek charm!

Note: The vessel cannot dock at Lakka’s marina, that is why we dock at one, of its numerous, secluded private coves!

We arrive at Corfu’s Old Port, in the afternoon, which means that we will have enough time, to roam around its new and Old Town!

Head to the old Venetian fortress to see the city from up high, or walk through the Old Town, admiring its gems, if of course, you have a couple of hours left!

While in the Old Town, make some time, to grab some Greek local souvenirs, or visit its museums and churches for a last sightseeing!

We spend the night at the Marina of Corfu’s Old Town, where we enjoy an optional traditional dinner with the group, for our final farewell party! After that, we head to the gulet, to enjoy our last night together on board, and on the next day, early in the morning, we sadly depart.

⚓️Corfu Greek Night

The Ionian cruise includes a unique Island hopping experience while spending a week at sea, exploring the best destinations, the Ionian sea, has to offer!

It is meant for independent, like-minded travelers, best suited for those who want to set sail for an adventure, explore Greek heritage and enjoy historical sightseeing!

Departures are every Saturday at 17:00, from May until the end of October. For more specific dates, please see our cruise calendar.

All our cruises end on Saturdays, at 09:00.

The difference between island hopping with us, and island hopping with any other mainstream-commercial ferry company, is mainly, the overall experience and comfort!

Commercial Island hopping, would mean standing for hours in line, just to boat your ferry, traveling with other thousands of people, sometimes for many hours without truly being comfortable during the trip, absurd time schedules, as most commercial ferries have crazy embarkation/disembarkation schedules (sometimes as early, as 04:00 in the morning). Additionally, during commercial Island hopping, you won’t have any standard accommodation for that period, which means that you will be carrying your luggage everywhere you go, without the possibility of leaving them somewhere stress-free.

On the other hand, traveling with us, on your own private gulet, would mean, overwhelming comfort due to the fact, that you will have the same accommodation for the whole trip’s duration! Of course, plenty of storage to leave your luggage and belongings, without the fear of losing anything, as our crew never leaves the ship. This means that your belongings will be safe, throughout the week you will be traveling with us! And also, besides the cruising hours, there is no other major time restriction, so you will have plenty of time, to do whatever you want!

We do have a variety of cabins, which range from doubles to twins (lower beds-bunk beds) to triples and a few quads, depending on the operating gulet.

All cabins besides, their comfortable mattresses, are ensuite with their own shower, a hair dryer, a wardrobe for storage, reading lights, their own individual A/C device and an electric fan!

If you want to be in the same cabin with your friends, just mention it, while booking with us. We can not guarantee that you will be together, but we will make everything possible to actually do that!

Please keep in mind, that we provide 1 set of fresh linen and towels, for the cruising week.

Many of our guests, choose to travel alone, as it follows the basic idea of our cruises. Independent individuals, come alone but travel with same-like-minded people, so many in the end, actually become friends!

Please know, that if you are traveling solo, we will always try to allocate you to a cabin, with your same gender.

On the other hand, if you desire to have your own private cabin, there will be an extra charge of 50% of the total amount of 1 person’s price

In general, on Greek islands, you can find affordable food and drinks, everywhere! You can choose, between eating traditional Greek comfort food, like a Souvlaki, at a price of 3€, or sitting at a local tavern/restaurant, for a much proper meal, at a price of 8-15€ per person.

Throughout, Greek Islands, drinks cost approximately, 6-12€

Water is offered complimentary by us, only during meal courses, so water is NOT included in your package!

If you want any extra water, we offer 1.5L bottles (Natural mineral Water), at 2€

The A/C, operates from 4 to 8 hours, per day (if of course, it is permitted by the government’s Covid regulations).

Also note, that the A/C works only when the generator is working at the exact same time. Though, due to local regulations, the generator must be turned off, after midnight.

The power supply, from the shore at the ports of Corfu, Kassiopi, Sivota and Gaios (due to their weak infrastructure), is not powerful enough to operate all our A/C units, simultaneously. Thus you must keep in mind, that there are possibly hot nights, especially during July and August, where the A/C, does not work after midnight.

Please keep in mind, that all our cabins are equipped with independent electric fans, as well, hence when our boats are connected to the shore’s power supply, our fans work properly, during the night, as well.

Any means of transportation, such as local buses, taxis, or even water taxis, are not included, in any of our cruise packages. However, we would be more than happy to arrange any possible transportation, for you!

A standard “airport to the vessel (and vice versa)” transfer, is around 25-30€ per person (depending on the Island), while shorter, in-town transportation would vary, between 8€ and 15€ per person.

In case you want to arrange your transportation, prior to your arrival, send us an email, at: [email protected] or [email protected]

Our gulets share quite a number of electrical sockets, both on the inside and the outside, of the vessel.

With this in mind, and as we do provide extension cords and multi-docking stations, you will be able to charge your devices, either while cruising while the generator is active, or while docked at port!

You are able to have a shower, any time of the day, but keep in mind that when the boat is docked at some of the ports we visit, the engines are turned off, the water flow is reduced and as a result, there is no hot water after midnight.

Water tanks on board are limited, meaning, when multiple cabins shower simultaneously, hot water is more likely to end.

If your shower does not have hot water, please inform your captain in order to open the water heater, and please wait for at least, 15 to 20 minutes, until it heats up the water again.

All basic cruise options include a Half Board, which means daily breakfast and lunch. (Buffet style)

For Breakfast, click here, to see our onboard menu items.

For lunch, we do offer a much more detailed plan, which you can see yourself, here: Daily lunch Schedule 2023

Besides breakfast and lunch, we do offer a special complimentary Captain’s dinner, which basically, is a dinner that passengers, enjoy, alongside the crew and the Captain!

All courses, include water, though if you want extra, a 1.5L water bottle, is at 2€

We do respect our passenger’s food preferences and requirements and that is why our Chefs, in case it is needed, will prepare optional dishes, as well.

(vegetarian, lactose-free, pescatarian, vegan, etc.)

As we use to say here, we are like a hostel in the water. So, yes feel free to bring any personal food or drinks you want on board. Our idea is to support your budget and travel cheaper. Please keep in mind that is not allowed to consume food and drinks inside our cabins and also there is no communal fridge that can be used for storage.

Adventure traveling, like Island hopping, requires travel insurance and we strongly suggest, purchasing one! For further details, please review our travel insurance section.

All gulets, including ours, are hybrids, which means that although they do have a motor engine, they can run on wind energy, as well, through its huge sails.

That said, operating a cruise solely on wind energy, is something quite unpredictable, thus, we prefer relying on, and scheduling each week, based on the gulet’s ability to use its motor engines!

All the gulets in our fleet, have only European-type sockets.

Note: It is mandatory to know this beforehand, as the electrical items/devices you want to bring on board, need to agree, with this specification.

We have travelers from all over the world, and we are truly delighted about this!

Most of our passengers are Australian, British, German, Spanish, Croatian, French, Italian, South African, Canadian and American!

So, most of our passengers are mainly English speakers!

In order to get all the necessary updated information about Visa and passport requirements, please check our Visa & Passport section!

Ιn order to support the local community and give back to its (our) people, all our gulets have multinational crew members. Though, English is the number one onboard-speaking language!

All our gulets can carry up to, approximately 20 to 25 passengers, with an average cabin number of 7. (double/twins – triples)

Keep in mind, that all our vessels have fair space onboard, for literally all the passengers they will, eventually, accommodate!

At the time of your booking/inquiry, remember to specify who your fellow travelers are. This way, we will try to make all the necessary arrangements to accommodate you, all together, on the same vessel!

Please keep in mind though, that we can not guarantee this, for close-to-date cruises!

Even if we believe, that it is impossible for someone, to wish to “abort” our sailing cruise earlier than its scheduled disembarkation, You are of course, free to leave, whenever you like!

The only restriction though, is that in order for you to leave earlier, the gulet needs to be docked at a marina/port, and not on some remote cove!

Of course, in case you happen to leave earlier and want us to help you with your transportation, feel free to let us know, by sending an email, at: [email protected] or [email protected]

In the unfortunate event, of losing your departure, you have the option to either “catch” us on the next Island/destination, via commercial ferry, or bus. (if accessible)

In any case, if something like that is to happen, try to inform us prior to the actual departure time, by calling us at our Head Office, at: +30 211 215 2595

As personal privacy, is of paramount importance to us, we cannot provide you with any of your fellow travelers’ details, prior to your actual cruise day.

However, if you are interested to meet other people that travel on the same tour as you, feel free, to head to our Facebook page and introduce yourself to our lovely community!

Our standard and premium cabins always include a private bathroom, a wardrobe, a cozy carpet, a comfortable mattress, reading light and a/c.

Our premium cabins we define cabins that have a separate shower box inside the wc and/or larger space available ( usually 2/3 s.m.) from our standard ones. Usually they are located on the stern or the bow of the ship, making them slightly more isolated than the rest of the cabins onboard and they have better sound insulation that the rest since they are bigger.

Scattered along the western coastline of Central Greece, the Ionian Islands are a cluster of twelve small and large island. The natural traits of the Ionian islands are well combined with a multitude of sights, historic monuments, and museums. Due to the air currents prevalent on the islands, many of the beaches have perfect conditions for windsurfing and other water sports. There are a lot of options for land trips, hiking and mountain biking. With a temperate climate, deep and cool sea waters, lush greenery, and cultural heritage the Ionian islands are the perfect spot for relaxing and active holidays.

Gulet yacht in Port

You can board your gulet in the harbor of Messolongi in the vicinity of the Patras city and the airport. Messolongi port is located in the center of a unique protected Klisova lagoon, an area that remains undiscovered by mass tourism. The town has a historical significance for Greek independence and is itself very picturesque, combining traditional architecture and modern urban planning. If you wish, you can explore the city a bit, visit a museum or treat yourself with delicious greek cuisine.

Patras City

The first island on the route is Kefalonia, the largest of the Ionian islands. Kefalonia has various natural attractions like underground lake Melissani, Drogarati cave and Myrtos beach, described as “one of the most dramatic beaches in Greece” and voted the best Greek beach for several times. You can visit picturesque fishing villages and enjoy swimming and local cuisine.

Agia Efimia is a quaint little fishing village situated on the east coast of Kefalonia surrounded by mountains. It has a natural bay, great beach and clean sea for swimming and snorkeling. The village has a dozen little taverns and cafeterias with their own special dishes. Agia Efimia is also a great base from which to explore the rest of the island.

Fiskardo is the northernmost port of Kefalonia and very close to island of Ithaca. The village has a mainly rocky coast with numerous pebble-beached coves. Fiskardo and its surrounding forest area have been protected under the law due to great natural beauty.

Cesme town

From Kefalonia, the cruise continues to the nearby island of Ithaca. The island is known as the home of the renowned ancient Greek hero Odysseus, the protagonist of Homer’s classical epic Odyssey. Despite its proximity to Kefalonia, Ithaca is much more peaceful, quiet and undiscovered.

Beach lovers will love a multitude of choices for all tastes, from sandy beaches to pebbles, from rocky to green-clad backgrounds, from peaceful beaches to busy ones. You have options for water activities like kayaking or scuba diving. The island also boasts plenty of hiking and mountain bike trails. The Vathý village, the capital of the island, is marked by the features of the local architecture and offers some interesting museums and tasty local cuisine.

Next cruise destination is Lefkada, the island that is connected with the opposite coast of Central Greece by a floating swing bridge. Lefkada offers you some noteworthy sights, monasteries and churches, picturesque villages, lush vegetation, idyllic coves of turquoise waters, busy and secluded beaches of stunning beauty, a significant cultural heritage and hospitable local inhabitants. There are amazing beaches almost everywhere, so you will have a lot of opportunities for swimming, and other watersports. You can visit sea caves or explore island’s green mountains with a bicycle.

Lefkada Island and Porto Katski

Meganisi and Mitikas

In the vicinity of Lefkada lies Meganisi, a small island with lush greenery, blue-green waters, three small settlements, two interesting sea caves and some beautiful beaches that are only accessible by boat. Perfect for a relaxing daily trip.

The cruise continues to Mitika harbor situated in the city of Mitikas. With gentle winds and mild weather almost all year round, this harbor is the ideal place for water sports. Here you can enjoy water skiing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing etc. Restaurants in the area will provide you with traditional Greek cuisine and quality dishes will spice up your holiday and will ensure your stay here will be the one to remember.

Kalamos and Kastos

On the way south, you can visit two small islands Kalamos and Kastos that host beautiful beaches and sea caves. Kalamos is the bigger island of the two and is covered with pine trees, while Kastos is an elongated isle covered in olive trees and provides a safe anchorage for boats cruising the Ionian sea.

Kastos

The last destination of the cruise is Zakynthos, the third largest of the Ionian islands. Zakynthos, also known as Zante, is among the most beautiful and popular islands of the Ionian Sea and is world famous for the crystal beaches and lively nightlife. The island landscape is diverse and has different types of beaches, from sandy beaches in secluded coves with tranquil deep blue waters to the rugged cliffs and interesting underwater world.

The island’s capital, also called Zakynthos, is marked by the beautiful Venetian architecture. You can explore town’s squares, churches, castle, museums, and other cultural landmarks or take a walk on the coastal road Strata Marina and enjoy among numerous cafes and restaurants. You can take a trip to the most famous beach Navagio (Shipwreck) or visit the beautiful Blue Caves.

Sail into the Ionian Sea

The starting point of our maritime travelogue is the Ionian Sea and the famous group of islands situated off the Greek west coastline, where new thrills await you and no doubt unforgettable memories.

Long golden beaches catch the eye. Crystal-clear waters, safe harbors, and winding beaches captivate the senses as you sail on. After all, the mild weather conditions in the Ionian Sea are the best traveling companion all year round. As you approach Corfu Island (Kerkyra), you will set eyes on some of the best-known beaches attracting many visitors every year. The multitude of sandy shores, the amazing Pontikonisi islet, and the surrounding isles of Ereikoussa, Mathraki, and Othonoi will make you catch your breath. You will find the biggest marina in the area at Gouvia.

gulet ionian islands

Next on your route are the shores of two lovely islands: Paxi and Antipaxi . Situated south of Corfu, they are renowned for their green landscape and secluded sea caves which can be approached only from the sea.

Heading southeast, you will reach Lefkada , an island accessible by car as well. The east shoreline is green with smooth, flat beaches, whereas on the west coast the scenery is varied with some lovely beaches along the way. Sailing around the nearby islands of Scorpios and Meganisi is a must. There is a very well-equipped marina in Lefkada town.

Another option for you is to dock at the marinas in Aktio and Vounaki, on the west coast of Central Greece, which you can use as your base for nearby sea explorations. Your next stop is Kefalonia Island – the biggest one in the Ionian Sea. As you sail around it, you will find unspoiled beaches and others with many facilities by the shore. The capital town, Argostoli, and Lixouri are two beautiful towns. The biggest marina on the island is located at Fiskardo, a place famous for its beauty and delicious seafood.

Ithaca , the birthplace of Odysseus, is the next island you will visit, located east of Kefalonia. Monuments all over the island are proof of Ithaca’s long history. Small secluded beaches make Ithaca the ideal place for relaxation amidst lovely natural surroundings.

The last island to the south is “Il Fior di Levante” – the Flower of the East – the island of Zante (Zakynthos) , the habitat of Caretta caretta, the sea turtle. High mountains, deep blue waters, sea caves, and picturesque little harbors make up the picture here. Locals will make you feel at home with their singing and warm hospitality.

Today we sail to Parga, described as the most beautiful village in the Ionian Sea, distinguished by two spectacular bays on the main side of town and the Venetian castle forming an impressive backdrop. With plenty of beach bars and water sports to enjoy in the large bay to the west of the town, it is the ideal place to relax by the sea in the afternoon. To go ashore, however, you will need to take a water taxi (cost not included in the total package price).

The small island of Antipaxos is a hidden gem to be seen at least once in a lifetime. We will have lunch on board before stopping for a swim and an afternoon of relaxation in one of the island's most secluded and peaceful bays, home to the beautiful white pebble beaches of Voutoumi and Vrika. The shallow turquoise waters are perfect for snorkelling! In the evening, we recommend going ashore for an unforgettable dinner in a beach taverna (optional activity not included in the price) under the starry sky, before re-boarding for a quiet night in the roadstead.

Paxos, known for its excellent olive oil, will offer you an enchanting view of the lush countryside of this small island: jump on a motorcycle and head for a secluded bay after lunch on board. In the afternoon, you will spend your free time sunbathing and swimming, before returning to the city for the freshest fish, in one of the excellent local taverns supplied by the local fishing boats of the port.

Dotted with bays and sea caves, this part of the island of Paxos is every explorer's dream. After a delicious lunch on board, we head towards Lakka, in a small but lively village, where the shallow waters will be perfect for those wishing to discover the underwater wonders of the Ionian Sea. The multitude of bars and taverns that line the waterfront will give you all the charm of the Greek tradition, and later you can count the stars in a secluded and romantic bay.

In the afternoon we will return to the old port of Corfu, so you will have time to visit the city: do not miss the ancient Venetian fortress to see the city from above, and old town, where you can buy some souvenirs and admire the churches and museums! We will spend the night in the Marina of the old town of Corfu.

Ionian Islands

Discover the dazzling and enchanting islands of Greece

The Ionian island becomes an irresistible and attractive place for a charming yacht charter in the Greek Sea. It consists of seven magnificent islands: Cephalonia, Corfu, Ithaki, Kythira, Lefkada, Paxi and Zakinthos, which bring different features and excitement to the tourists. You will witness the natural beauty and uniqueness that only the eyes can catch.

The Ionian island has been influenced by British and French culture. It reflects its traditions, architecture and atmosphere, including Homeric epics and myths. On the west coast of the mainland lies the Greek sun, which attracts visitors with its stunningly beautiful scenery. In general, the island is less windy than the Aegean islands, which are perfect for sunbathing, beach activity and water sports. Definitely the best yacht destination.

Each Ionian island acquires different cultures, traditions, beauty and adventures. Bring the light as you unravel the mystery of the Ionian islands below.

Zakynthos Greece sits in the heart of the enchanting Ionian Sea. It reveals a wonderful natural landscape and magical sugar-fine sand beaches and turquoise water. Its beaches are home to the endangered sea turtle Caretta, which they spawn in the spring and summer. Another must-have experience on the island is the crazy nightlife. Be in Zakynthos, the closest paradise on earth.

Ithaki is the home of Homer's Odysseus of unparalleled wealth. It is believed that the island is considered a diamond with its charming and seductive grace. Dive into the crystal clear waters of Ithaki beaches, catch the wide and breathtaking view of the walking paths, eat Vathy's fresh fish and seafood, and feel the warmth while chatting with the hospitable, kind and friendly locals.

In the northern part of the Ionian Islands lies Corfu, lined with hidden treasures, natural wonders of magical caves, romantic towns, quaint anchorages and beautiful beaches. In Corfu Town, the capital of the islands, guests will find an abundance of beautiful harbours, quaint anchorages and romantic town squares. For those interested in Greece's eventful history, there are many possibilities beyond the capital to marvel at the remnants of a bygone world.

The exotic island of Cephalonia is one of the largest and most famous Greek islands of the Ionian group. The island is perfect for sun-worshipers and nature lovers. It has a breathtaking natural landscape with exotic beaches, panoramic fishing villages and wonderful underground caves. Have fun with exciting activities on beaches with dazzling sand. You will find paradise in Cephalonia Greece!

Paxi is known by the Greeks for its unique scenery, which exudes a different attraction around the world every summer. It has emerald colour water ideal for swimming. Paxi is a small island but consists of three villages of traditional houses, beautiful front beaches and colourful surroundings. Paxi is on its way to becoming one of the hottest destinations in the Greek islands.

Lefkada is one of the best breathtaking Greek islands. It is the heart of the Ionian Sea, connected to the mainland by small bridges. The sandy temple with stunning turquoise waters surrounded by wild nature and magnificent beaches makes Lefkada wildly famous among its beaches. Water sports like windsurfing, kitesurfing, scuba diving and other beach-related activities are a must in Lefkfada. Lefkada is an absolute dream destination for those who love exotic islands.

Kythira Greece is a beautiful island located in the southern part of the Peloponnese. The island's architecture was heavily influenced by the Venetians. The delightful capital of the island, Chora, has incredible views of the Aegean Sea, the best place to watch the sunset. The island is surrounded by cliff-top villages, abandoned places, secret beaches and monasteries. A must-have experience during your stay in Kythira is a stroll through the ghost village of Paleochora followed by a dip in Lagada beach below. Kythira Greece is an island that never fails to attract tourists.

  • Gulet rental in Ionian Islands

Rental Gulet Traditional Trexantiri Kefalonia

Traditional - Trexantiri | 45 people  (2017)

From $985 per day, gulet rental in the ionian islands.

Located west of mainland Greece, the Ionian Islands are a group of islands found in the Ionian Sea. These Greek islands are the perfect place for a gulet rental! Not only will you be able to sail around, with or without a skipper, at your own pace, but everyone on board will be able to have the space and amenities to do whatever they want. For those who enjoy being adventurous and active, it is possible to add water toys, like a jet ski, and fishing gear to your boat rental with Nautal.

Travel with a group of friends or family and discover the extraordinary coastlines and beaches of the Ionian islands such as Corfu and Lefkas.

Where to sail in the Ionian Islands?

Spread out along the west coast of Greece, the Ionian Islands are located in a region of Greece that is optimal for gulet cruises and yacht charters thanks to its gentle winds (“Maistros” winds) that blow in from the North West, compared to other regions. In general, Greece is considered to be a sailing paradise for all kinds of sailors, from beginners to the most experienced.

One of the biggest perks of going on a private charter is that not only are you free to choose where you go and how long you stay in each location, but you’ll also be able to discover virgin bays and hidden gems that are only accessible by boat.

With so many places to go, planning cruise itineraries in Greece can sometimes feel a little bit overwhelming. To help you get started on planning yours, here are a few of our favorite places to sail to in Greece.

  • With a captain or a group of experienced sailors by your side, sail to the Dodecanese Islands ; a group of 150+ islands off the coast of Turkey’s Anatolia. While here, you could even turn your experience into a gulet charter in Turkey and Greece!
  • While so close to Turkey, go on a Blue Cruise, and sail along the Turkish Riviera before making your way back to the Greek islands.
  • Back in Greece, make sure to visit the island of Corfu , known for being one the of loveliest Greek islands. In Corfu, you can visit the Museum of Asian Art and explore the many shops and boutiques in town. There is also a 14th-century fortress, the Palaio Frourio, with a nearby lighthouse where you can view the fortress and sea in all their glory.
  • Just off the southern coast of Corfu are the islands of Paxi and Antipaxi , two of the smallest islands in the Ionian Sea. These two islands are notorious for their beautiful beaches and crystal-clear water.

With your gulet yacht rental, you’ll be able to access as many beaches as your heart desires. Beaches like Myrtos Beach in Kefalonia are breathtaking, yet not as accessible by road. In Lefkas , Porto Katsiki Beach is a dream and in Corfu, there are plenty of beaches for spending the day in the sun, such as Ipsos Beach , Arillas Beach , and Barbati Beach .

How much does it cost to rent a gulet?

The cost of a gulet rental in Greece depends on several different factors. Some of these factors include the size and model of the boat, the duration of the rental, the size of the traveling party, and whether or not you choose to add other amenities. Add-ons such as paddleboards, BBQ grills, fishing gear, and water sports equipment can come at an extra cost.

If you wish to hire a skipper for your luxury gulet charter, this may also come at an extra cost. To get a full overview of the rental price, make to get in contact with the boat owner.

The harbors in the Ionian Islands

The comfort a gulet provides makes it difficult to imagine disembarking it. However, the Greek beaches and islands are irresistible and you are sure to be more than eager to lay on the white sand beaches and explore the islands on foot. Finding a marina or harbor around the Ionian Islands that is big and safe enough to dock your gulet may sometimes be a bit time-consuming. To save and avoid unnecessary stress, we highly recommend scouting out a few harbors and marinas before setting off on your charter.

You will find the following harbors and marinas that are accessible and safe for all levels of boaters:

  • Port of Astakos
  • Sant Nicolas Port

Renting a gulet with a skipper

With Nautal, it’s possible to rent a gulet in the Ionian Islands with a skipper. A skippered gulet charter is perfect for people who want to relax during their nautical adventure, without having to worry about the technicalities of sailing the boat. The captains on our platform are local experts who know the area like the back of their hand! Let them show you all the top anchorages, secret beaches, secluded bays, and coves, and give you recommendations on the best restaurants and bars.

When is the best time to go?

The best time to visit the Greek Ionian islands is late April to June, September, and early October. During these months you’ll be able to avoid the extreme temperatures as well as the huge crowds. The months of November through March, mark the rainy season in Greece and most notably on the Ionian Islands.

The wind in summer tends to pick up from June and blows until September, though not as forcefully as in the Cyclades. The wind force ranges from 2 to 5 and blows in a northwest-to-west north-westerly direction.

Corfu and Ionian islands cruise itinerary is indicative and subject to weather conditions.

Arrival Day. We kick off our Corfu adventure Old Port were there are loads of tavernas and supermarkets. This is the first of many signs you will spot of Corfu’s colonial heritage. The UNESCO listed old town of Kerkyra is an absolute charmer and perfect for exploring before your trip , with winding cobbled streets, ancient stone walls and pastel  windows shutters .

The Ionian islands are the wettest of the Greek Islands , so forget the typically rugged, rocky shores of Greece. The Ionian will surprise you with lush forests, verdant green hills packed with olive groves, crystal clear waters and sparkling white beaches . Hidden amongst the Sivota islands the Blue Lagoon is a highlight which we will have lunch with beautiful sight , with the west facing main village offering an idyllic tavern-lined promenade and a stunning sunset. In Sivota you can attend a cooking class excurion.

Parga has been described as the most beautiful village in the IONIAN , with two crystal clear bays wither side of the main town and venetian castle forming an impressive backdrop. With plenty of beach bars and water sports to enjoy in the large bay west of town this is the ideal spot to laze away the afternoon , before grabbing a water taxi ( if necessary ) to town for a Greek feast and some traditional hospitality we will have lunch onboard!

A true hidden gem , the tiny island of Antipaxos will be a once in a lifetime experience, we will offer you lunch onboard topping up the day . Explore Voutoumi and Vrika Beaches and snorkel in the unbelievable clear waters. Dine at pop up beach tavern in a secluded bay tucked away from the crowds and admire the sparkling night sky from the deck of your yacht.

Until recently Paxos was the best known for its excellent olive oil , rumoured to be one of the top varieties in the world! Take in the lush green countryside of this tiny island by grabbing a motorcycle and heading to a secluded cove after having lunch onboard for an afternoon of sunbathing and swimming , before heading back to town for the freshest seafood at one of the excellent local tavernas stocked by the local fishing boats in the harbour .

Studded with secluded bays and sea caves, this part of Paxos island is an explorer’s dream. Offering our delicious lunch onboard heading towards Lakka home to a small but vibrant village , with the shallow waters known as a siving hot spot for those keen to discover the underwater marvels of the Ionian Sea. With a host of bars and tavernas lining the seafront Lakka is the epitome of old school Greek charm! We will spend the night at a nice bay in Lakka. The vessel can not dock in the marina in this area.

We arrive back to Marina mid -afternoon ,but first we will visit Benitses beach while having lunch onboard, guided walk of Corfu old town from our marina , head to the old venetian fortress for a bird’s eye view of the city, or if you have a few more hours to kill , go hunting for souvenirs, museums and churches in the maze of narrow cobbled streets. You can decide to partecipate to Greek night evening! Overnight at Corfu.

Say goodbye to your new friends and take a last look of the breathtaking view of Corfu. All the good stories have always an ending… Maybe next year.

Isole Ioniee

Buongiorno Suzana

Ti scrivo per dirti come siamo state a Corfù .

Response from Greek Islands Booking

Ritorneremo in Turchia presto.

E’ stata cmq una vacanza piacevole

Lorenzo, grazie. In Grecia solo nel Dodecaneso possiamo offrire lo stesso rapporto qualità-prezzo dellla Turchia. Purtoppo-(
