Everything We Know So Far About Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's Wedding

Bezos and Sánchez celebrated their engagement aboard the Amazon founder's mega-yacht in Italy.

In August, they celebrated with an engagement party on board the yacht in Positano, Italy. Guests included Bill Gates, Wendi Murdoch, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kris Jenner, and numerous other celebrities, according to Page Six .

"We’re still thinking about the wedding," Sánchez told Vogue in November 2023. "What it’s going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet. We’ve only been engaged five months!" She also shared she will be taking the last name Bezos, saying, "Uh, yes, one hundred percent. I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos."

"He’s so happy, he inspires me every day, he makes me a better person every day," Sánchez told the Wall Street Journal earlier this year. "He’s the most loving human I know."

Bezos told CNN of Sánchez , "Lauren is the most generous, most big-hearted person that you would ever meet. So, she is an inspiration in that way. She never misses a birthday. The network of people that she gives birthday presents to is gigantic. And that’s just a small example." Sánchez added in the same interview, "We’re really great teammates, and we also have a lot of fun together. And we love each other … We always look at each other and we’re the team."

Bezos, 59, and Sánchez, 53, have both been married previously. The two began dating in 2019, shortly after Bezos and his first wife, MacKenzie Scott, divorced . Sánchez and her first husband, Patrick Whitesell, also divorced in 2019.

No details have been released yet for a wedding date or venue, but we'll be sure to update this as soon as we learn more.

Jeff Bezos Really, Really Likes His Girlfriend, According to the Figurehead Apparently Made in Her Image on His Estimated $500 Million Yacht

It is yacht season, a time of year that occurs whenever or wherever there is nice weather for yachting on one’s yacht. What are the activities of yacht season? Well, if one is a billionaire or friends with one, dining, swimming, lounging, tanning, and feeling the ocean breeze through your hair. But for those landlubbers destined to only ever look at yachts through a screen, the activity of yacht season is mainly looking at photos of the yachters on their yachts while comparing the billionaires’ big boats. 

Roman Abramovich ’s yacht Eclipse has a mini submarine on board and two helipads. Bernard Arnault ’s yacht has a grand piano and a cinema. Jeff Bezos ’s new yacht also has a name—Koru—and has three large masts, making it a sailing schooner that harkens back to the golden age of seafaring (though, at 417 feet, way bigger than those boats generally were). It’s the Renaissance fair of the seas. 

And no Dutch-built yacht would be complete without a Valkyrie at its prow. The one on Koru looks a helluva lot like Lauren Sanchez, his girlfriend. Bezos has not commented on his ship to the press, so whether the figurehead is explicitly based on Sanchez’s visage and body is simply conjecture. Here, for example, is the Daily Mail conjecturing: “ curvaceous winged GODDESS…bears striking resemblance to none other than…Ms. Sanchez! ”

Some people’s love language is words of affirmation. Some prefer giving gifts. Still more people’s love language is building hyperrealistic shrines to your love on your big, huge, reportedly half-a-billion-dollar yacht . All are valid ways of expressing devotion. 

Besides a lifelike statue of his girlfriend, Bezos’s yacht has an on-deck pool as well as a pet yacht—that is, a smaller dinghy (only 246 feet) that provides a helipad and storage for “toys,” and follows the big yacht around, according to The New York Times .  Koru has been under construction for years, but Bezos’s yacht was first spotted sailing in the seas of Spain’s Mallorca on Monday. The couple were photographed on board in their swim trunks , enjoying the fruits of their patience.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's superyacht engagement party reportedly included business titans and celebs, from Bill Gates and his girlfriend to Leonardo DiCaprio

• Jeff Bezos hosted a party Wednesday to celebrate his engagement to Lauren Sanchez.
• Some big names attended, including Bill Gates, Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd, and Kris Jenner.
• The party took place on Bezos' $500 million yacht, which first set sail in February. 

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez celebrated their engagement last week — and their party aboard the Amazon cofounder's $500 million superyacht attracted some big names. 

Attendees included Kris Jenner, Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd, and fashion designer Sarah Staudinger, according to photos on Sanchez's Instagram .

Bill Gates attended the party, which took place on August 2 in Positano, Italy, with his girlfriend Paula Hurd, Page Six reported, sharing paparazzi photos of the event. Wendi Murdoch, Rupert Murdoch's ex-wife, was also at the party, the photos show.

Other celebrities in attendance included businessman and super agent Ari Emanuel, who attended with his wife Staudinger, Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire, and Rania Al Abdullah, Queen of Jordan, according to Page Six.

Leonardo DiCaprio was reportedly also at the party, implying that he is on good terms with the couple after Bezos jokingly threatened him in November. After a video showed DiCaprio having a close conversation with Sanchez at a gala, Bezos quoted the tweet with a photo of himself standing near a steep cliff warning sign. Bezos tweeted "Come here, I want to show you something," and tagged DiCaprio.

Insider reached out to spokespeople for the reported party guests for further comment but didn't hear back ahead of publication.

Bezos's relationship with Sanchez went public in 2019, shortly after his ex-wife Mackenzie Scott, announced she and Bezos were getting divorced. Scott's marriage to Bezos lasted 25 years and they have four children together. 

Sanchez, founder of aerial film production company Black Ops Aviation , was a news anchor for Good Day LA and has appeared in several tv shows and movies, including a small role in "Fight Club." Sanchez and Bezos reportedly got engaged in May after dating for four years. 

Bezos and Sanchez have been spending lots of time on their $500 million yacht, which first hit the seas in February. The couple has been photographed enjoying the yacht this summer, and Sanchez has also posted photos of Bezos enjoying the boat on her Instagram.

Jeff Bezos’ New Yacht Is Finally Ready to Set Sail

Amazon’s founder has been spotted on Koru, a massive schooner with a design that evokes the golden age of sailing in the early 20th century.

Just in time for the high season of yachting in the Mediterranean, when multimillion-dollar megayachts descend on ports like Monte Carlo and St. Tropez, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has been photographed with his partner Lauren Sánchez on his new boat, Koru, off the coast of Spain.

Mr. Bezos’ vessel is a sailing yacht, a departure from the diesel-powered, floating palaces popular with other billionaires. But it is still massive. At 417 feet, Koru is the world’s largest sailing yacht, according to Boat International , and it cost an estimated $500 million to build, Bloomberg reported . (Parsifal III, the boat featured on Bravo’s reality series “Below Deck Sailing Yacht,” is 177 feet long — less than half the length of Koru — and cost $18 million , according to the website SuperYachtFan.)

A spokesperson for Mr. Bezos did not comment for this article; neither did Oceanco, Koru’s builder. Here is what to know about the boat.

For traditionalists, Koru is refreshing. At a time when yacht design skews outrageous — see the lizardlike, 262-foot Artefact or the otherworldly 463-foot Yas — Koru stands out as a schooner, a sailing vessel with two or more masts. Photos reveal a large sailboat with three masts, an on-deck pool and a voluptuous mermaid on the bow, that bears a resemblance to Ms. Sánchez. But otherwise, the sleek, classic lines suggest the patrician age of yachting in the early 20th century, said Robert B. MacKay, author of “The Golden Age of Newport Yachting: Between the Wars.”

“With the clipper bow and the dark hull and the masts,” Mr. MacKay said, referring to Koru’s concave, pointy forward section, “it reminds me of a boat built in 1930 for J.P. Morgan Jr., Corsair IV. It is almost like a reincarnation. It’s certainly at odds with the stuff the oligarchs are building — those look like bloated Clorox bottles.”

Compared with the world’s very largest motor yachts — built for sheer size and the accompanying bragging rights — Koru could almost be considered quaint. Azzam, one of the world’s largest motor yachts, is nearly 200 feet longer.

The Experience

Koru will be propelled primarily by the wind. “Sailboats are usually greener than most powerboats,” said Don Anderson, a former captain of M5 , the world’s largest single-masted sailboat, at 256 feet. “I’d like to think that Koru will be one of the most ecological yachts out there, with its sails and also with the technology that will be aboard.”

“When you’re on a sailboat, you’re more in touch with the wind and the waves than on a powerboat,” he continued. “You’re more susceptible to the elements, too. But you can leave California, and once you get past the Catalinas you can basically surf downwind all the way to Hawaii. All you need to do is run with the waves.”

Mr. Bezos has been a guest on similar boats, according to Bloomberg: In 2019, he was spotted on Eos , a 305-foot sailing yacht owned by Barry Diller and Diane von Furstenberg.

Bill Tripp, a Connecticut-based naval architect, said the appeal of this type of boat is clear: “When you are on a powerboat, you ask, ‘Are we there yet?’ and on a sailboat, you’re enjoying the ride and the ocean so much that you don’t ask that question.”

Koru will be trailed by Abeona, a 246-foot support vessel. Superyachts often have support vessels following along behind them. These “shadows,” as they are colloquially known, are for the “toys” — the ATVs, supercars, seaplanes, motorcycles, smaller boats, scuba gear, personal submarines and even helicopters that pleasure boaters might bring on a trip. According to its builder, this model of boat can carry these gadgets along with dozens of crew members. (Ms. Sanchez flies helicopters, and the couple was recently photographed taking a helicopter to board Abeona and then Koru.)

Abeona, a motor yacht, will have enough range to follow Koru from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean — a common course for yachts — on a single tank of gas.

The Kerfuffle

Koru set off a controversy last year — before it was even completed — in a face-off with the Dutch city of Rotterdam. The boat was built at Oceanco’s facility in Alblasserdam, the Netherlands, and needed to pass the historic Koningshaven Bridge, known as “De Hef,” in Rotterdam, to undergo testing in the North Sea.

When the city announced it would dismantle the bridge to allow the boat and its mainmast — an estimated 230 feet tall — to pass through unscathed, locals were angry. They planned a protest to throw eggs at the yacht as it cruised by. In the end, the bridge was not taken apart, and the yacht was towed to a different location to have its masts attached.

Koru is Maori for “coil” or “loop” and refers to the unfurling of a fern frond. The koru design is common in traditional Maori art, where it symbolizes new life, growth and peace. Mr. Bezos included a photo of a koru frond in an Instagram post on Jan. 1, 2022.

Brad Stone, who was the first to report on Koru, in his 2021 book “Amazon Unbound: Jeff Bezos and the Invention of a Global Empire,” said the name was “consistent with where we see him today.”

“He is no longer this single-minded tech guy,” Mr. Stone said. “He’s in media and Hollywood and has a new relationship.”

Lauren Sanchez assembled a star-studded squad of friends on fiance Jeff Bezos’ superyacht, the Koru, in St. Barts ahead of her 54th birthday Tuesday. 

“The day before my birthday I’m overwhelmed with love and gratitude to be celebrating with these incredible women who are such a big part of my life…These women are not just friends, I consider them family,” the former journalist captioned a photo on Instagram. 

Meet Sanchez’s power crew of entrepreneurs, actresses and philanthropists — almost all of whom, like Sanchez, have a very powerful man in their corner.

Kives, 35, is married to Michael Kives, one of Hollywood’s best-connected men.

The actress, 43, known for roles in “Modern Family,” “The View” and “Play It Forward,” married former NFL star Tony Gonzalez, a former tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, in 2007.

They now have two children together.

Previously Gonzalez was in a relationship with Sanchez in 2000 and they share son, Nikko, 22. Sanchez has told how October is one of her best friends.

Valued at 500 million dollars, the Koru also has a mother ship, the 74-metre Abeona, acting as a supply ship for helicopters, auxiliary boats and water sports equipment.

Despite its dimensions, this enormous sailing boat only accommodates 18 guests served by 40 crew members and last year she spent most of the summer cruising the Mediterranean, making a number of visits to Mallorca enroute.

Koru is a luxury custom superyacht. The main peculiarity of this yacht is it moves driven by the kinetic energy generated by its huge sails. This mechanism transforms the movement of the ship into energy, but if the wind does not blow, it has a powerful motor.

Lauren Sanchez recently shared a glimpse of her holiday celebrations, posting a picture on Instagram Stories where she and her sister Elena Sanchez Blair enjoyed a boat ride. 

Lauren, the 54-year-old former reporter engaged to Amazon's billionaire founder Jeff Bezos , appeared in high spirits in the photo.

Dressed in a blue bikini top paired with denim shorts, Lauren showcased her toned figure against the backdrop of crystal-clear waters. 

The location of the photo remains unknown, but the sisters' joyful expressions in their beachwear hinted at a relaxing getaway. 

Lauren opted for a blue triangle bikini top, completing her look with a tan visor and dark sunglasses, while Elena chose a vibrant hot pink bikini.

At that time, both were married to other people. Their subsequent divorces – Jeff from Mackenzie Scott, his wife of over 25 years, and Lauren from Patrick Whitesell, co-founder of the Endeavor talent agency – paved the way for their relationship to flourish publicly.

The couple, who made their first public appearance together in May 2019, got engaged in early 2023. 

Lauren shared details of Jeff's romantic proposal to Vogue, recalling how he surprised her with a diamond ring hidden under her pillow after a dinner under the stars on his yacht. She reminisced about feeling almost 'blacked out' upon discovering the ring.

Regarding their wedding plans, Lauren admitted they were still in the early stages of planning, with many details yet to be decided. 

Jeff humorously remarked that he wouldn't be heavily involved in the wedding planning, joking, "Oh, God, no. Do I look that dumb?"

Lauren also confirmed her intention to take Jeff's last name after marriage, saying, "Uh, yes, one hundred percent. I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos." Recently, she's been seen wearing a 'Mrs. Bezos' necklace, a custom piece from Alison Lou, valued at $4,400.

Lauren Sánchez is showing off her piloting skills.

The fiancée of Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos was seen landing a helicopter on her soon-to-be husband’s yacht on Wednesday in Sardinia, Italy.

An eyewitness said Sánchez made “three or four” attempts at landing on the helipad aboard Bezos’ $100 million support vessel, Abeona, before she was successful.

The ex- journalist — who has been training to become a pilot for over a year and owns an aerial filming company called Black Ops Aviation — eventually grounded the chopper, while cutting a casual figure in a gray tank top, denim shorts and a black baseball cap.

Her businessman beau also opted for a casual ensemble, donning a black tee, black shorts, and a gray cap.

Koru, Bezos’ $500 million superyacht, which features a wooden figurehead that bears a striking resemblance to Sánchez, has been the talk of the town as the pair have been island hopping since May .

Meanwhile, the 246-foot support vessel carries crew as well as what the New York Times described as “toys,” including “ATVs, supercars, seaplanes, motorcycles, smaller boats, scuba gear, personal submarines and even helicopters that pleasure boaters might bring on a trip.”

Sánchez’s landing comes one month after Page Six exclusively revealed that the Amazon CEO  popped the question  to Sánchez with a 20-carat engagement ring after five years of dating.

Bezos, 59, and Sánchez, 53,  hit the star-studded party circuit  in the south of France immediately after getting engaged to celebrate.

Her enormous diamond sparkler is  estimated to be worth a whopping $2.5 million , and she hasn’t been shy about showing it off.

The former reporter has proudly  flashed the jaw-dropping ring  during the couple’s European travels.

She’s paired it with stylish looks, ranging from a black-and-white activewear set  to a bright orange maxi dress.

News broke that the pair were dating in 2019, however they  kept a low profile  until his  divorce from wife of 25 years , MacKenzie Scott, was finalized.

Sánchez, who has  traveled the world with Bezos over the past few years, has gushed about her future husband on multiple occasions.

“He’s so happy, he inspires me every day, he makes me a better person every day; he’s the most loving human I know,” she said during a January interview with WSJ Magazine.

She also raved about him in a birthday post earlier this year.

“Happy birthday to the man of my dreams, who lights up my world with his laughter and kind heart,” she  wrote on Instagram in January.

“You have shown me that no great love is not bravely fought for. Thank you for always being by my side and for being the most loving and supportive partner.”

Sánchez shares two kids with Hollywood talent mogul Patrick Whitesell: daughter Ella, 15, and son Evan, 16.

She’s also a mom to 22-year-old son Nikko with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez.

Bezos, for his part, shares four children with Scott, 53.

Jeff Bezos bared his impressive muscles to bikini-clad girlfriend Lauren Sanchez as they kicked back on his $500m loveboat in the Mediterranean today.

The Amazon founder, 59, wore a pair of pale blue swimming trunks as he stood beside his 53-year-old partner off the coast of the Spanish island of Mallorca.

The couple were seen lying down on sun loungers before getting up and looking over the railings of the world's tallest superyacht. 

The pair jetted into Europe on his private jet at the weekend before taking a chopper to the billionaire's new boat. The vessel -  called Koru - was unveiled in March after five years of construction .

Previously known as Y721 or Project 721, the yacht now goes by the name of Koru which means 'new beginnings' in Maori. 

The vessel is 417ft meters in length - with triple masts that reach 230ft - making the sailing yacht nearly half the size of the Great Pyramid of Giza. 

And with a big price tag comes a big upkeep cost, a reported $25million annually. 

Bezos and Sanchez' latest luxury gallivant comes just a week after they were spotted among A-listers heading to Carbone Beach - an extravagant four-night supper club built to celebrate Miami's racing week.

The loved-up couple were there for the Grand Prix weekend in Florida.

The attendees, who forked out $3,000-a-night on reservations, were treated to cuisine from Italian restaurant Carbone and star-studded live entertainment - in an ambiance that has been described as something out of The Great Gatsby. 

Bezos stepped out in a stylish maroon t-shirt, while his glamorous girlfriend Lauren glitzed in a sparkly ensemble and nude heels. 

And at the beginning of May, the Amazon founder and his girlfriend were pictured pitching up at Van Nuys airport in their private jet - just days after they were seen partying at Coachella with Kris Jenner.

The 59-year-old billionaire enjoyed a fun-filled double date with his girlfriend, Jenner and the momager's longtime boyfriend Corey Gamble during one of the final nights of the popular festival.

Bezos and his girlfriend were spotted separately stepping down from their aircraft at Van Nuys airport - the single most heavily trafficked destination in Los Angeles for private jets, and one of the most heavily trafficked in the world.

Van Nuys is often used by celebrities including Kylie Jenner, Travis Scott, George Clooney , Ben Affleck , Jennifer Lopez and several other LA VIP's as a launchpad for their extravagant lives.

Bezos - the third richest man in the world - and Sanchez went under the radar briefly since they stunned festival-goers in Indio, California, last month.

They were spotted chatting away with Kris Jenner ahead of her daughter's rumored boyfriend Bad Bunny performing at Coachella. 

The Amazon founder hilariously came under fire for his fashion decisions when it was speculated that was wearing a $12 shirt from Amazon at the music festival.

Bezos, who is worth $128.5bn according to Forbes, donned an open blue button-down with butterflies on it, light-wash jeans and white tennis shoes. 

But eagle-eyed social media users appeared to find a similar - if not identical - butterfly shirt going for $12 on Amazon. 

Bezos ' new yacht was constructed over a period of five-years - and it will be the tallest in the world, measuring over 230ft tall.

The Executive Chairman of Amazon commissioned for the boat - called Koru - to be built in 2018 and the brand-new superyacht was constructed for a whopping $500 million.

Previously known as Y721 or Project 721, the yacht now goes by the name of Koru which means 'new beginnings' in Maori.

The vessel is 127 meters in length - with triple masts that reach 70 meters - making the sailing yacht nearly half the size of the Great Pyramid of Giza. 

And with a big price tag comes a big upkeep cost. Reportedly this will cost around $25 million annually.

It was modeled on with three enormous masts so it can be powered largely by kinetic energy from the sails. 

What this extremely advanced and green technology means is that the sails can be managed by a single person rather than an entire crew.

The multi-million dollar project it is the most recent build from shipyard Oceanco, which is based in the Netherlands.

The aluminum and steel schooner boasts three decks including one with a swimming pool. 

It is highly unlikely that we'll get a look inside Bezos's new vessel any time soon.

However, the interiors onboard are reported to be inspired by Eos, which is a 305-ft yacht that belongs to his close friend, Barry Diller, who is the founder and former CEO of Fox.

The interiors onboard Eos were created by the late François Catroux, who was known for his glamorous designs for the world's most notable royals, aristocrats and media moguls. 

Most extravagantly a smaller 250-ft support vessel sits alongside the mammoth one, complete with a helicopter landing pad for Bezos or his celebrity guests.

This smaller yacht is said to be loaded with an array of toys including luxury cars, jet skis, speedboats, and perhaps even a personal submarine.

Reports that Bezos asked the city of Rotterdam to take apart the recently restored Koningshaven Bridge, known locally as De Hef, sparked anger in the city

The shipyard has specialized in building large custom yachts up to 160m in length for over 30 years - including the legendary Black Pearl.

And Bezos' mammoth vessel was so tall that it was unable to pass under the Koningshaven Bridge in The Netherlands when it was being transported.

Therefore, when it was being built, Bezos reportedly asked the Dutch city of Rotterdam to dismantle the 95-year-old landmark in order to allow his yacht to pass under it.

According to reports, Bezos said he would pay to have the bridge dismantled and rebuilt again - but his request was refused.

In fact, locals also signed a petition to pelt the boat with rotten eggs on its maiden voyage - which garnered thousands of signatures. 

As a result, Bezos readjusted his expectations and the sails on his yacht so it could fit underneath the bridge.

This saw Oceanco quietly tow the enormous yacht to another shipyard where its masts were added. 

Koru will join a fleet of superyachts, helicopters, and planes already owned by the American entrepreneur.

Lauren Sanchez may have celebrated her 54th birthday way back in December , but she's still basking in the sweet gifts she received from her loved ones.

The journalist and media personality took to her Instagram on Sunday to share a peek at the gift her three children gave her for her big day.

Lauren shares son Nikko Gonzalez, 23 , with ex-boyfriend and former NFL player Tony Gonzalez, plus son Evan, 17, and daughter Ella, 16, with ex-husband and Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell.

In a selfie wearing a white vest, Lauren showed off her necklace with three different charms, each of which had been made by one of her children as a birthday present.

Alongside her charm-laden necklace, she wore a chain with the initials "LB," a nod to her fiancé Jeff Bezos as she refers to herself as "Lauren Bezos."

As for what being married to one of the world's richest and influential men entailed, she considered: "I think there are a lot of opportunities that come with that, and I take those opportunities very seriously. We always look at each other and go, 'We're the team.' So everything's shared."

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has surpassed Tesla founder and fellow billionaire Elon Musk to regain his position as the world's richest person for the first time in three years.

This comes after it was revealed that Bezos had sold $4 billion worth of shares since mid-February. Now, his net worth sits at $200 billion, while Musk's is at $198 billion.

According to Bloomberg's calculations , the founder of Amazon is the richest person in the world, with a $200 billion net worth as of Monday's closing bell. The majority of this wealth is derived from his 9% ownership position in the massive e-commerce company.

On the other hand, Musk's net worth stood at $198 billion, while LVMH's French billionaire Bernard Arnault completed the top three with $197 billion.

Last month, Bezos began selling off his stock in his own company, which he founded in 1994 and initially operated out of his Seattle garage. The company's shares have since increased by over 19% since then.

In 2021, Bezos resigned as CEO of Amazon, with Executive Chairman being his current title. According to reports, he has sold off approximately 25 million shares of the corporation in only one week. Since stepping down as CEO, these are the first shares he has sold.

Bezos revealed earlier this month that he planned to sell 50 million of his Amazon shares through Morgan Stanley, a brokerage firm, by 2025. The 60-year-old continues to have the largest stake in the company despite the sales, holding about 10% of the company's stock.

Since he stepped down as CEO of Amazon, Bezos has turned his attention to his other endeavors such as his philanthropic work and the rocket startup Blue Origin. He has also been spending a lot of time with his partner Lauren Sanchez, whom he recently proposed to.

Last year, the power couple had their high-end engagement party at Barry Diller and Diane von Furstenberg’s Beverly Hills home.

According to  Vogue magazine , big Hollywood stars like Barbra Streisand, Kris Jenner, Oprah Winfrey, Salma Hayek Pinault, Sarah Staudinger, Miranda Kerr, Robert Pattinson, Suki Waterhouse, and more were among the names that graced the stunning event.

“They’re very in love with each other—they’re demonstrably in love,” Diller, who played host for the evening alongside von Furstenberg, told the publication in an interview. “She’s lit him up in the nicest ways. She’s a great stimulant.”

Bezos and his fiancée previously hosted an engagement party on his yacht at sea, where guests included Queen Rania of Jordan, Bill Gates, and Oscar Award-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

During Sanchez's interview with Vogue , the media personality noted that she and Bezos are already making plans for a wedding.

“We’re still thinking about the wedding,” Sanchez said, adding, “what it’s going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet. We’ve only been engaged five months!”

The 54-year-old went on to recount how the billionaire proposed to her at sea by hiding the ring under her pillow after a romantic dinner. Sanchez found the ring at bedtime and said she “blacked out a bit” when Bezos opened the box.

When asked if she plans on taking her fiancé's last name name, she said, “Uh, yes, one hundred percent. I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos.”

She also talked about the duties that come with being the world's richest man's partner and stressed the importance of mutual cooperation in their union.

" I think there are a lot of opportunities that come with that, and I take those opportunities very seriously,” Sanches told the publication. “We always look at each other and go, ‘We’re the team.’ So everything’s shared.”

The Amazon founder, 60, reclaimed the title by edging out Tesla CEO Elon Musk by $2 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index on Monday.

Bezos, whose net worth is currently estimated at $200 billion, last held the top honor in 2021 . 

According to CNN, Tesla shares tumbled more than 7% on Monday and Musk has lost nearly $31 billion in the past year, per the index. His net work is currently listed at $198 billion.

Meanwhile, Bezos’ net worth has increased by $23 billion over the past year, the index shows.

Musk, 52, had been the reigning title-holder since May 2023, when he leapfrogged over LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault.

Musk and Bezos have publicly butted heads for over a decade, including over their years-long space race with their respective reusable rocket companies.

Musk founded Space Exploration Technologies, aka SpaceX , in 2002. Two years prior, Bezos launched Blue Origin in 2000. Since the companies' inceptions, they have fiercely competed to be the first since 1972 to put humans back on the Moon .
