St David Yacht is one of the most renowned charter yachts around. The award-winning 60m super yacht was built by the well-known builder Benetti and designed by the Andrew Winch Design team. The team incorporated a streamline shape embodying the Italian Riviera dynamic, with inspiration drawn from the profile of the famous Italian super cars.
The CEO and Founder of 212 Yachts, Jenny Caird, has had the pleasure of being invited to several parties with 100+ people on board the stunning St David Yacht, and had the following to say:
“With over 100 people on board, the service was still seamless. The crew are always happy and deliver the finest quality service with a smile on their face. I was so glad to see many of the same crew faces on my second experience on board St David – lots of the crew I spoke to have worked on the boat for years – clearly longevity is representative of excellent management structures. The yacht is immaculately looked after with several quite brilliant features, and I would gladly recommend it to my clients. In summary, she is a serious family yacht, but knows how to throw a party!”
Superyacht St David also prides herself in great recognition amongst the yachting community. The yacht was the finalist in the World Superyacht Awards in 2009. The same year, it was crowned ‘Best Charter Yacht’ by the Robb Report, and for very good reason.
Luxury superyacht St David has three expansive exterior decks. The main deck, adjacent to the saloon, boasts an expansive shaded area with ample seating. When designing the yacht Winch wanted to ensure that when you step on board you say ‘wow’, but when you sit down, you say ‘ahhh’!
This deck has a very open feel to it, and is the ideal setup to welcome guests on board at quayside. St David Yacht has the capacity for as many as 150 guests on board at quayside, making her the ideal yacht for corporate charters or events.
As a result, the yacht is a popular choice for visitors of the Monaco and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. She is moored in a privileged berth at the Yas Marina, and her three spacious decks, connected by a majestic staircase, mean that up to 150 guests can enjoy the on-track action!
The upper deck sky lounge features a stunning dining table that can be opened up to fit more people, or closed up for more roaming space. There is a spacious exterior deck for guests to mingle to the backdrop of a breath-taking sunset. While here everyone can enjoy a drink from the adjacent bar before dinner – yet another feature offered by this prestigious yacht!
The sundeck is the ultimate feature of St David however, featuring a spacious Jacuzzi pool (refitted in 2019), sun loungers, various sunbathing pads, a bar and even an outdoor cinema screen. After dark, the crew can transform this entire deck into your own private nightclub!
No luxury has been spared on the interior, with stunning mosaic floors, a magnificent spiral staircase, a spa, sky lounge, wet bar and more. The regal designs simply radiate prestige and status.
The master suite is yet another highlight of superyacht St David. It is split over two levels, the first of which includes a grand, stunning bathroom, a private office and a small lounge with TV and sofas. A small yet majestic staircase leads to the raised master bedroom which has panoramic views and is also fitted with a skylight. The other five luxury cabins are all convertible from double to twin bedrooms.
The team of 15 crew have been hugely popular amongst guests. They are always happy to welcome you on board the St David Yacht and cater to your every need, whether this be specific meals, a spin on the water toys, a fancy cocktail request or practically anything else you can think of.
Water toys and accessories for guests
St David’s Yacht offers a vast array of water toys and accessories for guests to connect with the waters around them. Experience the thrill of riding a Yamaha Jetski VX Cruiser, or the entertainment of water skiing. The F5 SEABOBs allow you to skim along the surface or quietly swim with the underwater wildlife. In addition, St David provides wakeboards, kayaks, fishing and scuba diving equipment, and inflatable water toys. With two tenders available, the New 435 Williams Sportjet RIB tender (Model 2022) stands out for its stylish transport capabilities.

South of France to Italian Riviera: A Luxury Marina Guide
By Jenna Mehdi
The South of France to the Italian Riviera is an endlessly popular cruising ground for luxury yachts and superyachts. The glittering shores, quaint coastal towns and unrivalled array of boutiques, hotels and fine dining restaurants never ceases to impress, with luxury yachts returning to the Med year after year to soak up the relaxed lifestyle and European charm. Although there is no shortage of romantic and luxurious destinations in the French and Italian Rivieras, the endless available choice can at times be overwhelming. We put together a mini-guide containing our top pick of luxury yacht marina stop-offs when sailing the seductive South of France to the dazzling Italian Riviera.
1. Port Vauban Port Vauban is an easy pick for world-class mooring in the beating heart of the French Riviera. This excellently facilitated and full service marina is nestled between the yachting hubs of Monaco and St Tropez, making it a firm favourite for yachting aficionados in their home cruising grounds. But Port Vauban’s excellent appeal is founded on far more than its prime location. Luxurious and well-maintained facilities meet a heritage dating back over 2500 years, making Port Vauban in the heart of the sumptuous Cote d’Azur a long-established home of yachting excellence and pride. The marina specifically caters to superyachts and accommodates vessels up to 170 metres in length with top level security, and is just a stone’s throw from Antibes’ rustic old town.
2. Port de Plaisance - Tino Rossi For those looking to stray away from the beaten path, an alternative route to the Italian Riviera would be by detouring to the mountainous isle of Corsica. Here, in the quaint coastal town of Ajaccio, Port de Plaisance - Tino Rossi awaits to provide a stopover you will never forget. Catering for superyachts of up to 70m in length, this is a charming marina with a conscience, committed to preserving the beauty and fragility of its setting. Environmentally conscious owners and guests will relish in Port de Plaisance - Tino Rossi’s ‘Eco Gestures’, providing information on good environmental practice at sea and in port and installing dedicated waste collection facilities. The marina prides itself on being in touch with the requirements of modern yachting - and when visitors explore the palm-studded beaches and verdant mountains of the island, it is not difficult to understand their commitment to protect it.
3. Marina Genova The Italian Riviera is an endless haven of historic coastal towns and excellent yachting facilities, but perhaps nowhere more so than Genoa. Considered the gateway to the Riviera and en route to the yachting hubs of Portofino and Porto Cervo, Genoa’s glorious history as one of the most significant ports in the Mediterranean is evidenced everywhere, from its kaleidoscopic beachfront to its UNESCO World Heritage old town. Marina Genova’s prime location makes it a necessary stop-off on any Italian Riviera cruise; here, first class facilities and 360 degree services meet a relaxed and enchanting lifestyle and cultural epicentre. Marina Genova provides for any service your yacht may require, ranging from electricity and pump out to refit and repair works. 24/7 security and mooring assistance top off this marina’s unique appeal, while it also doesn’t hurt that the port is located just 5 minutes from Genoa Airport.
4. Marina Porto Antico Just slightly further down the coastline lies Marina Porto Antico, a necessary inclusion in our Italian Riviera segment for its central location in the heart of the historic Old Port. Just a stone’s throw from Marina Porto Antico lay a dizzying array of boutiques, restaurants, galleries and museums, brimming with Genoan charm and history. The marina, who boasts one of the most picture-perfect docks in the whole of the Mediterranean, comprises 270 berths and accommodates yachts up to 70 metres long. Rest in peace that your vessel is in the safest hands at Marina Porto Antico while you venture into the glamorous and rustic city centre, whose unique character blends contemporary with historic in true Italian Riviera style.

Nice Yacht Charter, French Riviera
Nice is a colourful cosmopolitan destination that has attracted artists and aristocrats throughout the centuries, and when you stand upon Castle Hill to see the breath-taking blue waters that gave the Cote d'Azur its name, you'll know why it's still such a favourite with the luxury yachting crowd.
Walk through the Medieval Quarter and connect with a past gone but not forgotten, then discover the legacy of previous generations of tourists in the Russian Orthodox Cathedral, where the golden icon wall was prayed to by Russian's aristocrats while holidaying in the sunshine. The British too left their mark, and the seafront walkway is named 'Promenade des Anglais', which leads to the castle and is lined with luxury shopping opportunities and first-class eateries.
Any lover of Impressionism should make time to visit Musée Matisse, which has a comprehensive exhibition spanning the lifetime of the artist.
On your French Riviera yacht charter you should visit the lovely old port of Nice, at the eastern end of the Promenade des Anglais. Nice is one of the more famous French cities, particularly for the arts, culture and tourism. The Nice airport is very close to the center of town and Nice’s port, and being the second largest airport in France, after Paris, it is the main airport for the French Riviera yacht charter area.

The port is surrounded by superb Genoese-style old pink and yellow ochre buildings. The centre of the quartier des Antiquaires (Antique Dealers district) is only a short walk from the famous flower and Provencal markets and the street cafés of The Cours Saleya and the beaches of the Baie des Anges. Nice is home to many culinary specialties such as Niçois, Provençal and international, which can be savored in the multitude of sea side restaurants within easy access of your charter yacht.

As with most of the Mediterranean , and all the French Riviera, the Nice yacht charter holiday season generally runs from April to the end of October. The summer season in July and August is the hottest and tends to have the lightest winds but also the largest crowds. This is also the high season as far as yacht charter goes. Other good times to charter your yacht is generally on either of the shoulder seasons (April-May and September-October), each side of the main summer season, as the temperatures are still comfortable, and the onshore tourists have yet to arrive in their largest numbers.
BATAILLE DE FLEURS 2015 - Carnival in Nice - The Nice Convention and Visitors Bureau

The emphasis in Nice is on larger luxury power and sailing yacht charters, although Nice, and the French Riviera, is also an excellent area for the smaller yacht to explore.

Discover the French Riviera by Sail
While perceptions suggest a holiday on the French Riviera is expensive, with good planning that is not necessarily the case. Marina stays outside the main centres are very competitive with other destinations considered low-cost by comparison.
Yes, this is the South of France, and prices can reflect the tastes of the rich and famous who travel there. But with forethought and good advice the value of a boating holiday on the Côte d'Azur, along with the fun and excitement to be had, may surprise you.
We had a Lagoon 52 for our sail out of Grimaud, France. Enjoyed the French Riviera, it was a 10. Went to St. Tropez, Cannes, Monaco, Antibes and took side trips inland to Eze and St Paul de Vence to name a couple. Dave, USA, September 2018
Yacht Chartering along the Côte d'Azur, c'est la Belle Vie
Besides the blue waters, sandy beaches and sunshine, a feature of France's Mediterranean coast is the collection of quaint villages with seaside frontages that have been carefully preserved as modern development has proceeded alongside. A hotel stay here can be pricey, so holidaying aboard a boat gives you the best of both worlds. With easy access to the onshore delights by day, you can escape to your own, very cost-effective, floating hotel by night. In fact as you drop anchor or tie up along this coast, you become part of the vista those hotel-dwellers have come to look out on. Relax on board, look back at them, and smile.
On a sailing or motor boat charter, your time generally involves making short coastal passages between the many must-see attractions. If your schedule allows, factor in plenty of shore time, because some places you'll find it hard to get away from. The most popular stretch of bareboat charter territory runs 90 nautical miles from Toulon to Monaco. But it doesn't stop there. Go east to the Italian Riviera, or west to Marseilles and the Camargue.
The Cote d'Azur delivers a wondrous mix of all the pleasures in life, not least the sailing itself, which is invigorating in the warm Mediterranean breeze. Take time out on passage to recharge the senses between stimulating experiences ashore.
We have a wide range of high-quality boats available in bases at Port Pin Roland (Toulon), St Raphael and Golfe Juan (both near Cannes).

Our client reviews about charter sailing in South of France
Rating: 5 / 5 We had a Lagoon 52 for our sail out of Grimaud, France. The boat met our needs and expectations and was in excellent condition. Not a great sailing vessel but very comfortable and enjoyed by our non-sailing wives. The charter company was good. Our skipper and hostess were fantastic and highly recommend for sailing in the area. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Enjoyed the French Riviera, it was a 10. Went to St. Tropez, Cannes, Monaco, Antibes and took side trips inland to Eze and St Paul de Vence to name a couple. Your service was excellent and everything was terrific. Thanks for all your help in insuring a memorable vacation. Dave, USA, Sep 23rd, 2018

Guide to the South of France
The home of the world’s most romantic and charming yacht charter destinations
Made up of iconic destinations and exceptional cruising grounds, there can be no better way of experiencing the south of France from the comfort of a superyacht. Indeed, from the glamorous coastal town of St Tropez to the various hotspots found elsewhere along the French Riviera, the south of France is simply brimming with possibilities for a luxury yacht vacation .
Neighboured by the superyacht capital of Monaco and populated with some of the world’s best towns and beaches, the South of France is unquestionably one of the finest parts of the Mediterranean to charter a yacht in. Encompassing the French Riviera , an exclusive region otherwise known as the Côte d'Azur, guests are able to visit a number of world-renowned attractions which are each located within close proximity to one another. Whilst destinations such as Montpellier and regions like Midi-Pyrenees are situated in the South of France, these are not common cruising grounds for private superyacht charters.
When accessing the fantastic collection of cruising destinations, charter guests typically fly into Nice before getting a transfer to embark their chosen superyacht at one of the popular and well-equipped ports. Antibes, for example, is the home port for some of the world’s largest superyachts and serves as a convenient starting point for an itinerary taking place in the South of France.
The more popular destinations found around the South of France include the chic town of St Tropez , the Bay of Angels close to Nice, and the unblemished beaches which fringe the ancient streets of Cannes . The proximity of Corsica to the coastline which fringes the South of France means that it’s possible to visit the picturesque island during an itinerary in this part of the Mediterranean.
When charter guests have explored the more popular parts of the region, there’s a quieter side of the South of France which offers a restorative tranquility. Porquerolles, for example, is known locally as the retreat of the French Riviera , and the authentic coast of Villefranche offers stretches of white sand beaches for guests to unwind on.
As one of the most coveted summertime vacation spots, there are a great many superyachts which visit this part of France each year. To discover which destination and yacht best meets the needs of you and your family, feel free to get in touch with your preferred charter broker after browsing all crewed yachts for charter in the South of France .
