Deep-Sea Fishing Charter Bahamas

Deep-Sea Fishing Charter Bahamas – NASSAU

The Bahamas consists of more than 3,000 islands, cays, and islets. Located in the Atlantic Ocean, north of Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. And northwest of the Turks and Caicos Islands , and southeast of the United States (nearest to Florida).

The Bahamas is well known as one of the great sportfishing destinations in the world. You can expect calm water most of the year and little travel time to ideal fishing grounds.

Less than a quarter mile off Nassau, and Atlantis’s Paradise Island, you are in 1,000 feet of water. From an easy 4 miles off-shore, you are fishing in 6,000 feet of water.

You’ll discover that sport fishing off Nassau is unlike any other massive fishing experience you’ve ever had.

BIMINI ISLANDS

Bimini is a group of small islands in the Bahamas and is only 50 miles east of Miami Beach, Florida. These are actually two small islands. North Bimini and South Bimini, separated by a narrow channel.

Shallow reefs near the shore surround Bimini. The depth increases to 80 to 100 feet before dropping into the abyss of the Gulf Stream. The Gulf Stream current flows north through the deep water between Miami and Bimini, where the ocean is over 6000 feet deep. Moreover, the Gulf Stream brings hundreds of marine animals near the shores of Bimini.

Bimini has earned a great name as the “Game Fishing Capital of the World.” In reality, Bimini’s fame comes from Hemingway and fishing . Hemingway spent a few seasons in Bimini fishing and writing ‘To Have and To Have Not’. And later based his novel ‘Islands in the Stream here.

The economic fuel of Bimini comes from deep-sea fishing. Many black and white photos of record catches around the island. April through July, anglers from around the world flock to the Bahamas to take advantage of the calm seas and great fishing . This region has witnessed and recorded captures of Shortfin Mako sharks , Bigeye Thresher sharks , Spiny Dogfish , and Sixgill Sharks.

Be sure to know fishing regulations and obtain permits before setting sail. Hence, we wish you a good time in your Bahamian fishing trip!

Dolphinfish –  This is among the most colorful of the game fish with gold-green and blue coloring. The colors will jump out at you when you see your catch in the water next to your boat. This hard-fighting fish can be plenty at certain times of the year.

The best times for bringing in a great catch of Dolphinfish will be spring: April, May, and June. And to a lesser degree in December and January. You might catch a male or bull Dolphinfish with a distinctive blunt head or a cow Dolphin with a more rounded head.

Wahoo –  “Wahoo” is an appropriate name for this speedy fish because that’s what you’ll holler when you hook it! This gamefish can exhibit long hard runs at speeds up to 45 mph. The boat may troll up to 10 knots for this catch.

Also, notice this fish for its beautiful blue vertical stripes. The best times for a great Wahoo catch are November, December, January, and sometimes in February and March.

Tuna –  You can catch numerous tuna species with rods and reels. However, the Blue-fin, Black-fin, and Yellow-fin are the most popular fishing targets for anglers.  The most prevalent type is the Yellow-fin Tuna.

This is not the largest of the tuna family, but you will think so as it puts up a fearsome fight. Summertime, May to August, is the best time to catch most tuna, additionally Black-fin and huge-eyed Tuna.

Deep-Sea Fishing your catch might include

Blue Marlin –  It is a huge fish, up to 1800 pounds. With that, it is not uncommon to see Blue Marlin heave itself skyward in a seemingly boundless display of strength. Whether you catch a White or Blue Marlin, you will have some amazing memories of a well-fought fight. Look for the Blue Marlin, primarily in the spring and summer and rarely in the winter.

White Marlin –  You’ll find your marlin trophy primarily in the spring and early summer, from March to July. White Marlins are smaller than Blue’s. They are famous for their difficulty in luring it to strike.

You’ll note its identifying characteristics of rounded dorsal, pectoral, and anal fins. Because it greyhounds over the water while you fight to bring it to the boat.

Sail Fish –  This beautiful billfish has a large dorsal fin that resembles a sail. Its fighting ability is legendary. And often spends as much time out of the water dancing and grey-hounding.

Moreover, you will see many shades of blues and purples as this amazing fish dances through the sea. Your best chance to meet up with a Sailfish is in late fall, October, November, spring, April, and May.

Barracuda –  This tiger of the sea is an inquisitive, aggressive predator. The barracuda exists wherever small fish are, offshore and inshore.

It may jump out of the water two to three times its length. This displays its ferocious saber-like teeth when you are fishing light tackle closer to the shore. You can undoubtedly catch this fish year-round.

Sharks –  Spend a day fishing for many different species of sharks. You can easily identify the Hammerhead by its hammer-like head. This great fighter will run back several times before you win the fight.

With direct access from Nassau Harbour, Atlantis Marina features 63 mega-yacht slips. A 100-foot-wide channel, located to the west of the north-bound Nassau/Paradise Island bridge, allows for unrestricted mast height on sailboats and easy access for power boats. Both the channel and Atlantis Marina feature a minimum water depth of 12 feet at low tide. ATLANTIS II is available for DAY CHARTERS ONLY (No Term Charters) from Nassau/Paradise Island for up to 45 guests and is licensed for up to 55 guests for SPECIAL EVENT, EVENING CHARTERS, SUNSET CRUISES, YACHT WEDDINGS, etc. DAY CHARTERS: including Yacht, Crew, Fuel use of Watersports equipment ( paddleboards, kayaks, snorkeling gear, water trampoline, water inflatables) For the above , 4 HOURS $6000 for up to 6 guests with surf and turf lunch and standard bar; 6 HOURS $7000 for up to 6 guests with surf and turf lunch and standard bar; 8 HOURS $8000 for up to 6 guests with surf and turf lunch and standard bar. Most expenses are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), a fund that is added on top of the charter price. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). Boat Ramp near Meldahl Dam

Looking to do some sauger fishing below the dam this year. Any suggestions for boat ramps?

Neville City Ramp is what I was thinking of when I posted Moscow City Ramp.  

Just a heads up, Neville has no dock to tie off to. Just a ramp and I don't think Moscow has one either but not 100% on Moscow.  

Neville .......#1 Moscow.......#2 Foster .........#3 It gets SLIPPERY in cold weather.All it takes is a lil frost or fog. And it's on the "currenty" side when the waters up. Water levels above 30ft @ Cincinnati gauge can kill a trip. Chilo.....#4 upstream on Oh side .but ya gotta lock thru. and it's pretty small. Next item is BAIT No reliable bait shops on the OHIO side, especially out of season. Does the 52 pickup still sell bait? Only well stocked and reliable shop is the place on Rogers st in Latonia.
