Buffalo Bills Fans Detained for 'Hijacking' Taylor Swift's Sound System During Eras Tour?

A popular tiktok video showed a shocked taylor swift standing and reacting while the bills' stadium tune "shout" was played on the clip's audio track., jordan liles, published jan 22, 2024.

Fake

About this rating

On Jan. 21, 2024, a TikTok user posted a video that supposedly showed 12-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift standing and displaying a shocked facial expression during a concert on her Eras Tour. According to the video, Swift was reacting to her sound system being "hijacked" by fans of the Buffalo Bills NFL team at the team's Highmark Stadium.

The caption in the video read, "2 Buffalo Bills fans say 'worth it' after getting detained for hijacking Taylor Swift's wireless sound system."

The audio in the video featured a large crowd singing the classic Isley Brothers tune "Shout" — a song that has been a part of the Buffalo Bills home-game experience for decades .

The video received nearly 2 million views in less than 48 hours.

Hours after the video was posted to TikTok, the Bills played a home playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York. Swift attended the game. Her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, caught two touchdown passes that helped lead the team to a 27-24 victory over the Bills.

Some top commenters under the TikTok video appeared to believe it was completely genuine and that two Bills fans truly had found a way to "hijack" Swift's sound system to play "Shout."

"Don’t ever underestimate Bills Mafia," one popular comment read, referencing a name for Bills fans.

However, the truth was that while the visuals in the video were genuine, the audio had been manipulated.

"The funniest part of this is the number of people that haven’t figured out this is stadium audio over a Taylor Swift concert video," one commenter posted.

The visuals in the video were taken from an Eras Tour concert on Aug. 8, 2023, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the same venue where the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams play their home games. Swift played six nights at SoFi Stadium in early August.

The same moment from the TikTok video can be watched and listened to in a YouTube video that was recorded from another angle, beginning at the 11:24 mark.

Swift was reacting to the crowd cheering for quite a long time after she sang " Champagne Problems ."

During her tour, at least one TikTok user had catalogued the amount of time that crowds in different cities had given her ovations following the singing of the very same song.

In other words, the TikTok video was little more than an apparent joke. Swift never played an Eras Tour concert at the Bills' Highmark Stadium, and there's no truth to the idea that two of the team's fans were detained for "hijacking" her sound system.

Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny and Olivia Rodrigo

From the looks of it, 2024 is going to be another year full of memorable performances from some of the biggest artists in the industry.

However, it’s following a record-breaking year for several top performers, including Taylor Swift, who embarked on the first U.S. leg and Latin America leg of her Eras Tour, as well as Beyoncé, who performed across the globe for her Renaissance World Tour. Harry Styles’ massive Love on Tour also wrapped last year, as well as tours from Karol G, Doja Cat, Janelle Monáe, John Mayer and more.

Those are just a few of the tours throughout 2023 that brought millions of fans together for great vibes, memories and music. Concert tours serve not only as an opportunity for artists to promote their latest albums or highlight their entire music catalogs, but it’s also a time for their fans to celebrate their favorite performers all together under the same roof.

But the new year is fully packed with even more concerts, tours, festivals and events for music lovers all around, no matter what genre they’re interested in. Just some of the artists hitting the road in 2024 are Bad Bunny, Olivia Rodrigo, Drake, Noah Kahan, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Morgan Wallen, Blink-182, Red Hot Chili Peppers and, of course, Swift, who is finishing out her Eras Tour.

Ticket site Gametime also highlighted some of the most anticipated tours this year, based on median ticket prices, and to no surprise, artists including Swift, Rodrigo, Bad Bunny, The Eagles, Wallen and Billy Joel are in the top 10.

Although they’re not touring across the country or globe, several artists also have Las Vegas residencies this year, including Adele, Maroon 5, Christina Aguilera, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Rod Stewart, Kelly Clarkson, Luke Bryan, Shania Twain, Bruno Mars, Kylie Minogue and U2.

Taylor swift's nfl playoff tour takes her to buffalo for chiefs game against bills, aptopix chiefs bills football.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Love was in the cold Buffalo air with Taylor Swift cheering on boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.

And even Kelce’s brother Jason got into the act during the Chiefs' 27-24- victory in a divisional playoff game.

Swift blew a kiss after someone greeted her by yelling, “Bills by a billion,” upon arriving at Highmark Stadium.

The pop music superstar was escorted by a heavy security presence to a suite overlooking the west end zone, and located just below the name of Bills Hall of Fame coach Marv Levy’s name on the stadium’s Wall of Fame.

Then it was Travis Kelce’s turn to show some love to Swift. After catching a 22-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, the star tight end threw the football into the crowd, then turned and made a heart gesture with his hands toward the suite where Swift was seated in the opposite corner of the stadium.

The touchdown marked the 15th time quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Kelce connected in the playoffs, matching the NFL record set by Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski . Mahomes and Kelce broke the mark early in the third quarter with another TD, this one a 3-yard pass that gave Kansas City a 20-17 lead.

Among those in the suite with Swift was Jason Kelce , who was caught by cameras shirtless and holding a can of beer while celebrating his brother's first touchdown. Kelce is the Eagles' center who told teammates in confidence after Philadelphia's playoff loss to Tampa Bay last week that he’s retiring after 13 seasons.

Swift arrived wearing a white jacket with red Chiefs trim, and featuring a large red star.

The 12-time Grammy Award winner has become a regular at Chiefs home and away games since the two began dating earlier this season.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers will play cities including Dallas; Houston; Atlanta; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Jacksonville, Florida, as they traverse the country this summer.

The band’s 50th anniversary tour , which welcomed McDonald back to the fold for the first time in more than 25 years , began in 2021 and tacked on several extensions through last year. The show featured a trove of radio hits ("Minute By Minute," "What a Fool Believes"), album cuts ("South City Midnight Lady," "Here to Love You") and some tracks from 2021's "Liberté," their first album of new material since 2014.

In addition to their live output, The Doobie Brothers recently released the song “Lahaina,” featuring Mick Fleetwood, Jake Shimabukuro, and Henry Kapono in support of those affected by the devastating fires in Maui last year.  Proceeds from the writing of the song will go to the fundraising efforts on behalf of the People's Fund of Maui , according to the band .
