One of the reasons that The British Virgin Islands are so popular for boat rentals is because it has ideal sailing conditions year-round. Seas range between three and four feet and line of sight navigation will be easy even for the beginner. However, choosing the right time of year based on your experience will greatly impact how much you can enjoy your trip.

Northeastern trade winds are especially strong between November and January, with an average wind speed of 15-20 knots. In December, the Christmas wind speeds can reach up to 25-30 knots. Because of the strong Christmas winds, experienced sailors choose winter for the ideal sailing conditions in the British Virgin Islands. The temperatures are not too hot during the day, and the trade winds offer some challenge. However, less experienced sailors may enjoy the late winter and early spring for the milder winds and warming weather.

In the spring and summer wind speeds slow down considerably as the weather heats up. This is a less popular time to sail the British Virgin Islands, but the islands are much less crowded and you can oftentimes save on your trip during this time. From February to March the British Virgin Islands also have their lowest average rainfall at 50mm.

 The British Virgin Islands have a relatively consistent tidal range. Including the variation due to atmospheric pressure and winds, the average tidal range is 12-18 inches. This makes mooring at the different islands much easier for the novice skipper.

Winter and spring are the best times of year to charter a yacht on the British Virgin Islands, especially if you are planning to have a nice sailing experience and steady winds. During this time you will not have to plan for hurricanes, and the weather will be beautifully cool as opposed to the sweltering summer months. However, this is also the busiest time of year and prices for charter go up especially during the Christmas and New Year Eve. For example cost on one week charter of the same boat at the end of December may be two three times higher than it’s price for one week in November or January.

Booking a sailboat in summer or early fall will result in much lower prices, but only do so if you are an experienced sailor and pay close attention to hurricane predictions. Planning your sailing charter for the end of November or June may offer fewer crowds on moorings and anchorages, good prices for rentals and steady light winds.

Designed by renowned yacht builders Robertson and Caine/ Leopard ; the 51PC (power catamaran) is the pinnacle of cruising perfection. Cruise with power from twin Yanmar 350hp diesel engines while enjoying easy handling from the well-appointed helm station on the fly bridge. When it’s time to unwind, relax in the spacious comfort of this innovative fly bridge, which features an elevated sunbathing platform and large U-shaped seating and table to accommodate all your guests. Enjoy the modern conveniences of a built in stainless steel electric grill, refrigerator, and wet bar all on the flybridge.

Below you’ll find a contemporary and roomy interior, centered around an open-concept main saloon with a panoramic 360-degree view of the surroundings.  The main salon has  plenty of table space for entertaining your entire group. The fully outfitted galley is situated aft, and has perfect access to the aft sliding door to provide a perfect indoor-outdoor space for cooking and entertaining. Next to the central dining area is a navigation station and the unique forward salon door which opens onto a large forward cockpit, offering a great spot to lounge as you look out to the horizon.

Below the main deck, the hulls of the 514 house four beautiful full-sized cabins, each with queen beds. All four cabins have their own en-suite baths, each with separate shower and electric heads, providing a comfortable retreat for all guests.

The aft deck is a diver’s dream; fitted with a huge, custom made bench with a track specifically designed to hold your dive tanks.  This ingenious design makes for easy assembly of scuba gear, allowing divers to put gear on while at a comfortable seating position. 

The stern is fitted with dinghy davits which allow guests the opportunity to cruise the islands with the dinghy raised out of the water, instead of towing it behind the powercat.

The spacious 514PC can accommodate a maximum of 10-12 guests (depending on your guest make up and if using all sleeping spaces), across 4 double cabins, 1 single crew cabin (air conditioned and accessed from the top deck) and a convertible dining salon.  It is not suited for 12 adults and can only accommodate 12 guests if there are kids in the group who will sleep more than 2 together in a cabin. 

Below the main deck, the hulls of the 514 house four beautiful full-sized cabins, each with queen beds.  All four cabins have their own en-suite baths, each with separate shower and electric heads, providing a comfortable retreat for all guests.

The 514 also has a convertible saloon, which offers sleeping arrangements for up to two guests. This space is included as a ‘double berth’ in the maximum capacity of your yacht.

This yacht also has one forepeak sleeping areaswhich is air conditioned.   The port forepeak is accessible through the forward port cabin and a hatch from the top of the hull. It is large enough for one adult and can be closed off from the forward port cabin side to provide separation.  The port forepeak IS included as a ‘single berth’, as well as the dining salon being included as a ‘double berth’ in the maximum capacity count of ’10-11’ on this yacht.

In the Moscow region there is a small cozy town Elektrostal. Its sights for the most part have no historical value due to the fact that the city has a relatively small history. But for a visiting tourist or city dweller, they will be of interest. There is something to see, where to go to have an exciting leisure time.

Today the population of the city is 158 thousand people. Until the beginning of the 20th century there were several small workers' settlements here. After the opening of the electrometallurgical and equipment factories, the place began to be called the natural boundary of Calm. The construction of the railway made this settlement accessible, and workers and families flocked here to earn money. In 1925, the station was named Elektrostal, and the rapid increase in population allowed the village to receive the status of a city.

The founder of the city is a prominent Russian industrialist Nikolai Vtorov. It was he who opened the plant here, creating, in fact, a city-forming enterprise that is still operating. In Soviet times, it was a closed facility, and it was not easy to get to work here.

Today Elektrostal is a promising industrial city with a great future and a heroic past. It bears the proud name "City of Military and Labor Glory".

Those who come to the city by train are met by a monument to the metallurgist. It was installed in November 2017 for the 100th anniversary of the Elektrostal plant. Elektrost altsy and the founding father of the plant, Nikolai Vtorov, are honored. In 2002, a monument was opened in honor of him, which became a landmark of the city of Elektrostal. Until 1999, there was no central museum among the attractions of Elektrostal in the Moscow Region. The expositions were exhibited in schools, the house of culture, in factory museums. The city was closed, so there was no large influx of tourists and visitors. The appearance of the historical and art museum made it possible for residents and guests of the city to learn a lot of useful information about their native land, the formation of the production process, and the difficult years of the war. The exposition consists of paintings by local artists, historical artifacts, household items, documents, books and much more. The collection is updated regularly. It also hosts outdoor exhibitions, which are always popular with the townspeople.

One of the main attractions of Elektrostal, the photo of which is available to almost every resident or visitor, is the Main Alley. On herpassers-by like to stroll along shady paths, townspeople rest by the fountain after a hard shift at the plant. Flower beds are the decoration of the alley. In 2006, a flower festival was held here for the first time, which has become traditional.
