Provocative, cutting edge, exhilarating – 35ft in length, fully carbon fibre, powered with V8 engines and with an impressive top speed of 50 knots – announcing the highly anticipated, revolutionary, all-new Princess R Class .

Princess Yachts is proud to have partnered with BAR Technologies and Pininfarina to bring a whole new breed of yacht to market with the very latest in advanced technology and naval architecture. The all-new R Class will feature the unique Princess Active Foil System (AFS) and deliver the fastest and most efficient Princess boating experience to date. The striking exterior reflects one of the most compelling and innovative designs we have ever created and conceals a spacious cabin within. Featuring a well-equipped galley and seating area, with the added flexibility to convert to a generous double berth, further complemented by an ensuite.

This ground breaking new yacht remains a true Princess at heart with the same level of comfort, practicality and seakeeping found on any other Princess yacht, combined with the very latest design thinking from the Princess Design Studio and progressive performance technology. Throughout the early development of the revolutionary new R35 , secrecy was of the utmost importance, so when the time came to sea trial the prototype it raised the question – how do you disguise a yacht on water? For the answer Princess looked to Plymouth’s rich naval heritage. Dazzle is a marine camouflage conceived in the early 20th century by former art student, Norman Wilkinson, while serving as an officer in the British Royal Navy in Plymouth, England. Designed to confuse rather than conceal, the unique geometric design of the dazzle camouflage was credited with saving many vessels during World War 2 by making it difficult for enemy craft to judge the speed, direction and size of a ship. The first full scale use of dazzle was applied at the historic naval dockyard in Plymouth which today is the home of the Princess M Class superyachts .

Third year students at the Plymouth College of Art were commissioned to create a unique dazzle design for the Princess R Class, with the final design being supplied by student Katie Sheppard, who took inspiration from Wilkinson’s original concept as well as modern-day influences including Austrian illusionist Peter Koglers and the Fiera Milano exhibition centre.

The Princess R35 will make her GLOBAL LAUNCH at the Cannes Yachting Festival 11th – 16th September and the Southampton Boat Show 14th – 23rd September, 2018

R Class is the Fastest Ever Hull from Princess Yachts

To develop the R35, which is the first Princess R Class model, the British builder worked with globally renowned experts. BAR Technologies, known for its America’s Cup advancements, helped to develop the Princess Active Foil System. It includes twin carbon foils beneath the waterline to reduce drag.

Pininfarina, the Italian automaker, helped to develop the R35’s carbon-fiber hull. The team at Princess added a glass helm, Esthec soles, a Naim audio system and other onboard comforts for which the builder is known.

Princess is calling the 35-footer a “technologically game-changing yacht” that is ideal for day cruises or a weekend on the hook, with a belowdecks galley, head, and seating that converts to a berth.

Princess Yachts R-Class 35

Princess Yachts has a new boat class under development. The carbon fiber boat was developed together with BAR Technologies and the Italian design studio Pininfarina. The prototype was wrapped in a new version of Dazzle Camouflage , designed by Katie Sheppard of the Plymouth College of Art.

The R35 comes with an Active Foil System (AFS) for lower drag and more stability. Two all-aluminum V8 petrol engines power the boat up to 50 knots.

Princess Yachts offers the R35 in different color schemes.

The cabin’s interior comes with a U-shape seating with a table that can be turned into a double bed. A galley with sink, drawers and some storage space. Furthermore, a 32-inch TV connected to a Naim audio system and a bow camera. Also, a wet-room with shower and lavatory is onboard.

Princess Yachts M-Class superyachts are the flagship brand line for true luxury. A series of superyachts includes three modifications on 30/35/40 meters.

Princess Michael’s Russian tycoon friend shot dead in Moscow

A wealthy Russian businessman who became friends with Princess Michael of Kent has been murdered in an apparent contract killing.

Mikhail Kravchenko, who owned a large chain of furniture stores, was shot at least six times in the chest and head when his car was ambushed yards from his home in the village of Peredelkino, just outside Moscow. Police are investigating whether he could have been the victim of a business dispute with rivals.

Mr Kravchenko, 46, was returning to his house in the early hours of Sunday morning when his Mercedes was overtaken by another vehicle, which then blocked the road in front of him. Police said that two men with handguns opened fire on his car.
