No wonder the Mediterranean region is a popular destination amongst travellers, as its natural features, wonderful beaches, the boat trips offered and the climate make the area a very pleasant one. This article lists all the important information that is worth noting for anyone who would like to visit the region.
Facts about the Mediterranean
The Mediterranean Sea is surrounded by three continents: Europe from the North, Asia from the East and Africa from the South. It might be a surprising fact that its territory is nearly 2, 520, 000 km2, and the length of its coastline is close to 46, 000 kilometers .
Countries of the Mediterranean region:
Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus
Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel (and the Gaza Strip)
Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco
Larger islands of the Mediterranean:
Cyprus, Rhodes, Lesbos, Crete, the Maltese Islands, Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, Menorca, Mallorca, Ibiza. There are several great countries and islands located in the Mediterranean region. If we are planning on renting a boat, there are numerous spots to discover while we can spend plenty of time on the Mediterranean Sea. A wide variety of options are available, and we might want to get informed about all the different opportunities in advance; making a round trip on a yacht we own might be the most exciting activity.
Geographical features of the Mediterranean
We are dealing with a versatile but contrasting area with dozens of sights that are worth visiting from a geographical point of view. High mountains, rocky shores, waterfalls, forests, and a desert – all the treasures nature has to offer. We can cruise through the shores of several countries on well-organized trips. The area has many ports, the list of which can be found above our information section, under the Mediterranean maps tab.
The climate of the Mediterranean
The region has a Mediterranean climate . Winters are usually mild, but a certain amount of precipitation may be expected during this period. Summers are hot and dry. The mean annual temperature is around 14°C, but even in the coldest months, the temperature never drops below 0°C. During such periods the average temperature is 4°C. This is the reason why the region is a perfect destination during all seasons. We should seek information on the weather of the chosen countries in order to have a smooth holiday.
The gastronomy of the Mediterranean
The Mediterranean region’s sailing paradise has especially diverse gastronomy. You can just rent a boat and start exploring the Adriatic while enjoying culinary adventures at the same time. Besides sailing, swimming and cultural programs, food is also very important. Seafood is popular, but the fact that the Croatians and the Greeks love meat and the Italians are passionate about pasta and delicious wines makes the region even more ideal for lunch or dinner. Visit as many countries as you can, and dive into the local gastronomy.
Traveling in the Mediterranean
As there are several countries and shores located along the Mediterranean Sea, we can choose from various opportunities to reach our destination. Browsing through the flights offered by the different airlines, we may get very cheap tickets if we book on time. We can consider going by car or taking a train between two countries; however, the greatest experience is exploring by renting a boat. This way the travel itself becomes an experience of a lifetime, and we will be able to see places that we couldn’t discover any other way.
Mediterranean catamaran charter – the main seasons
It is a great experience to take our boat out in the Mediterranean region; the sailing season is very long thanks to the mild weather. We will give you a brief overview of the seasons different characteristics and the spots that you should definitely visit. In our article, we will provide you with more details below.
In the autumn
If you do not insist on visiting in the hottest period, the autumn season is perfect for exploring the Mediterranean region as there are no large crowds and the temperatures are also milder. You should still be careful, as the weather often becomes unpredictable in the spring and autumn, combined with strong winds from time to time. During this time, it is safer to stay close to the marinas.
In the winter
In the winter, it is recommended to monitor the weather forecast due to the variable conditions and frequent storms. In this season, the most popular Spanish cities are Valencia, Barcelona and Cartagena. The latter is a perfect starting point when exploring the Balearic Islands, France and Corsica. Licata and Marina di Ragusa are two very popular destinations on the largest island of the Mediterranean Sea: Sicily. Read more about Sicily sailing , and Spain sailing .
In the Spring
The region of the Mediterranean Sea is beautiful in the autumn, and it is also very peaceful around here during this time. In this period, we suggest that you head towards Croatia, Greece, Sicily, Sardinia or the Balearic Islands. In Greece, we particularly recommend visiting Lefkada – belonging to the Ionian Islands – in the west. The town of Préveza in the southwest and the famous island of Crete are also excellent choices. Read more about Croatia sailing , Greece sailing , and sailing in Sardinia .
In the summer
When summer is approaching, many people sail on the Mediterranean Sea; the busiest months are July and August. Sardinia is among the most popular sailing destinations ; the northern and northeastern parts are rich in anchorages, even though they can still get full in the summer. There is a strong summer wind present on the island, so it is recommended to sail counter-clockwise. Would you prefer to avoid large crowds? Spain and France, as well as the southern part of Sardinia, Tunisia, the northern part of the Aegean Sea, and the Peloponnese, are all considered quiet regions. History The body of water the Romans called “mare nostrum” (or “our sea”) is full of historical landmarks important to all of modern Western civilization, from the basilicas of Italy to the earliest churches and monasteries of France and Spain. Water Sports The waters in the Mediterranean are inviting, and chances are, you’ll spend quite a bit of time in the water while on charter. In particular, the Mediterranean is a hotspot for kitesurfing and windsurfing – especially throughout Italy. Yet, sea kayaking and paddle-boarding are other top activities on a Mediterranean charter. Bottom line, you’ll bask in the sapphire waters during your visit.
Scuba Diving The Mediterranean is rich with history inland, as well as under the sea. In fact, you’ll find incredible dive spots throughout the region. Secca della Colombara and Punta Omo Morto in Italy are favorite dive spots, for example.
Wine For wine-lovers, the Mediterranean is a mecca, offering the best glasses in all of the world. The region’s wine-making tradition, of course, goes back thousands of years, and in every port of call, you’ll find a wine bar, cellar, or bodega serving the best wines. Super Yacht Charter: Cruising Conditions
Across the Mediterranean, charter guests are welcomed by amazing cruising conditions: Small swells, calm seas, and amazing weather. Yet each destination offers its own unique cruising experience.
- Corsica – Corsica offers more than 700 miles of coastline to explore and is known for its upscale marinas, ports, and stunning anchorages. In particular, the Strait of Bonifacio is a top sailing destination, thanks to its steady natural breezes. Around the island, visitors are welcomed by calm seas and cooling breezes throughout summer, as well as warm water conditions.
- French Riviera – The South of France has a short coastline – just about 400 nautical miles – but there’s much to see and explore along the Cote d’Azur. Here, you’ll find a collection of the world’s most exclusive marinas – like Port Hercule in Monaco and Port de Saint Tropez Marina – and breathtaking anchorages. (Plaga Mala, for example, is a super-tranquil South of France beach anchorage.) Cruising conditions here are ideal: Steady winds, easy 2- to 4-foot swells in summer, and cool breezes.
- Spain – The Balearic Islands some of the most beautiful anchorages in all of the Mediterranean. The island of Espalmador is a favorite superyacht anchorage. Plus, the marinas like Mallorca’s Club du Mar attract some of the finest superyachts in the world. Sailing is great throughout summer with warm sea winds – June through August. Spring and fall offer more challenging conditions.
- Sardinia – One of the top sailing destinations in the Mediterranean, sailors come for the steady sea breezes, as well as the protected waters and safe harbors. Calm seas and warm waters welcome visitors in summer.
- Italian Riviera – An ideal motor yachting destination , with some of the most exclusive marinas in the country including at Portofino and San Remo, the Italian Riviera is an ideal spot for a luxury motor yachting experience.
- Amalfi Coast – Here you’ll find a collection of some of the most breathtaking anchorages anywhere in the world: Marina Piccola near Capri and the Pontine Islands are two see-it-to-believe-it anchorages. Due to its somewhat longer passage, Amalfi tends to be better for motor yachts.
- Sicily – The northern and eastern coasts of Sicily offer the best in sail and motor yachting. Here you’ll find well-established marinas, protected waters, and short passages between destinations. In the nearby Aeolian Islands, island hopping in calm seas is a tradition.

“We had a great time in Greece”
We had a great time in Greece, the first three days we had constant 20-25knots of wind, so we were able to do a lot of sailing. The boat was also in good condition and everything in working order…the boat did however look a bit older than a 2018 mode…

Mediterranean Sailing tips
This time 12 Knots invites you to discover the most traveled part of the world – a glorious journey around the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
It is a long, lively, occasionally challenging and endlessly fascinating trip off from Gibraltar, one of the fabled Pillars of Hercules, up the coast of Spain, along the Riviera, to the islands of Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, then Croatia, the Greek islands and way-way to Istanbul in Turkey.
Sailing along the coastlines as wild and diverse as anything you encounter before will give you a real insight in this world – while probing through layers of traditions and culture, ancient and modern, rich and poor, fake and authentic.
Be open to surprise and serendipity, be willing to get lost and appreciate each routine’s uniqueness.
The Mediterranean Sea is an intercontinental one that separates Europe from Africa. The Strait of Gibraltar connects it to the Atlantic Ocean on the west; the Dardanelles and the Bosporus – to the Black Sea on the east; and long man-made Suez Canal – to the Red Sea in the south-east.
Chartering a boat in the Mediterranean
Renting a yacht in the Mediterranean is a great alternative to a standard cruise on a liner – this way you will feel the true freedom and get unique experience as a real traveler! Spain, Croatia, Italy, France, Montenegro, Turkey, Greece, Malta - wherever you want to go, 12 Knots will help you to charter a yacht that will definitely meet your needs, type of vacation and budget. "The cradle of civilization" offers a huge number of attractions. Secluded bays with paradise beaches and lively cities, fishing villages with colorful boats and modern marinas filled with premium yachts. There is no other part of the world where you may find such a great gastronomic, architectural and nature diversity.
Renting a yacht in the Mediterranean Sea will give you chance to see many countries of this area in a different perspective. Instead of visiting standard touristic places you’ll be able to visit wide variety of little-known places far from the standard routes. For example, the Cote d'Azur is not only the luxurious ports of Saint-Tropez, Monaco and Nice with luxury restaurants, casinos and a great concentration of mega yachts. Here you may also find little fishing villages, where in a family restaurant you can dine on freshly caught fish with white or rose wine. Spain is not only Ibiza discos and beaches of the Costa Brava, full of tourists and pareo vendors, but also quiet harbors with amazingly clear water, where you can enjoy unusual solitude.
Rent a boat and do what you want
Mediterranean yacht charters is the opportunity to do what you want. Every day you can taste local versions of Mediterranean dishes that differ in terms of cooking method, spices and sauces. Without any haste, you may stroll among the ancient ruins and climb the walls of beautifully preserved ancient fortresses, offering spectacular views on the sea - exactly the same as hundreds of years ago.
Your vacations will be much more interesting if you choose to rent a yacht. The Mediterranean coast length is over 40 thousand km, 21 countries and three continents with different coastal relief. Here you can find almost everything: volcanos, starch-white and coal-black lava sand, pebbles and shell rocks.
For photographers, video bloggers and movie lovers, renting a yacht in the Mediterranean also gives the opportunity to see a lot of interesting things – in a quite unique way. Among the places that must be visited is the Italian town of Portofino, where Antonioni / Wenders shot one of the episodes of the romantic drama “Behind the Clouds”. Also don’t miss the Amalfi Coast, which is often served as a backdrop for films about beautiful life. One of the most scenic views here is Positano village with its colorful houses that cascade down right to the blue water.
Those who love nature and silence should include in the list one of the secluded Greek islands with bicycles and boats. You can rest peacefully on some beaches of the eastern coast of Sicily, and find a great combination of warm turquoise of the sea and white fine soft sand. If you are getting bored with peace and tranquility, you may always get off the anchor and set up sails to the place where life is in full swing - like Ibiza, in Barcelona, ??Monaco.
Benefits of sailing in the Mediterranean
One of the main features of the Mediterranean region is its relative compactness and high dencity of different attractions. History and architecture, museums, nature, beach attractions and water sports, shops, amusement parks - all of these can be in just one sailing vacation.
Mediterranean bareboat yacht charter gives you a chance to visit places that are almost inaccessible from land, because they have neither a parking lot nor a safe trail to the sea. You may find plenty of secluded coves in rocky shores of Turkey and Greece, where every spot can be your personal secret place, whit not risk of finding another company.
Dazzling white streets of the small coastal towns in Greece or red tiled roofs of Montenegro, contrasting with the huge mountains. Malta’s cultural microcosm, where European, Arab and African intertwined, and where, in addition to the magnificent Gothic and Baroque buildings, there are prehistoric sanctuaries, the secrets of which have not yet been solved. Turkey, with places not touched by resorts, where you can clearly feel the breath of antiquity. All this can be points of interest during your yacht charter in the Mediterranean Sea!
For active travelers who value independence versus staying in one spot, decision to rent a boat in the Mediterranean Sea is definitely a solution. If you plan an ordinary trip with an accuracy of one day and hotels bookings in advance, then yacht gives you a chance to improvise and change your plan. Renting a yacht is two in one option: accommodation and transportation at the same time.
It is not surprising that Mediterranean yacht charters are in great demand and one of the most popular sailing destinations offered by 12 knots. Sailing in this region is a dream for many people, while we make it a reality. We offer bareboat and crewed yachts for charter from classic Turkish gulets to modern sailing boats and premium yachts. Our manager will give detailed information each boat so that you can make the right choice.
Above all we also can help with itinerary and destination ideal for your needs and time of the year. For example, if you are looking for diving or other waters sports, we will tell you the best spots for underwater attractions and the best way to get there. Where to find the most beautiful views? Which cities should go to catch spectacular holidays? Where are the best water parks, shopping centers, casinos, discos? Answers to all these questions will help create a unique roadmap.

What Choose
Sailing boat or Catamaran, what to sail in Mediterranean Sea
At Yachting.Rent, we believe your sailing experience should be nothing short of perfect, and choosing the right vessel for your Mediterranean Sea adventure plays an integral role. Whether a sailing boat or a catamaran, each offers a unique blend of features suited to different preferences.
A sailing boat promises a classic, undiluted sailing experience. With its dynamic design, a sailing boat offers excellent maneuverability and the thrilling sensation of harnessing the wind’s power. It is ideal for adventurous sailors who enjoy tacking and jibing their way along the coastlines. Sailing boats also offer a deeper connection with the sea, enabling sailors to feel every wave and breeze – a truly immersive experience for those passionate about sailing.
On the other hand, a catamaran delivers stability, spaciousness, and comfort. The dual-hulled design offers a smooth ride, minimizes rolling, and provides an incredible degree of stability, even in rougher waters. The ample space on a catamaran allows for larger living areas, perfect for families or groups seeking a comfortable, home-like setting at sea. Additionally, the shallow draft of a catamaran allows access to secluded anchorages, a boon for explorers and privacy seekers.
At Yachting.Rent, we offer a broad selection of both sailing boats and catamarans. Each of our vessels is equipped with modern amenities and maintained to the highest safety standards. Our experienced team is always ready to help you choose the perfect vessel, based on your sailing skills, group size, and personal preferences.
Whether you’re a traditional sailor seeking the thrill of a sailing boat or prefer the comfort and stability of a catamaran, your perfect Mediterranean voyage begins with Yachting.Rent. Connect with us today to explore the endless blue of the Mediterranean Sea in your preferred style.

Most luxury boat rentals have five or six staterooms or cabins in various configurations, including twins, double, queen, and king beds. On most charter yachts, you can customize the configuration of the cabins dependent on the number of guests. This will allow you to take between six and 12 charter guests. Depending on the charter vessel, staterooms may include ensuite bathrooms, state-of-the-art entertainment systems, private study areas, and walk-in wardrobes. Larger mega yachts may have additional cabins for staff members like nannies, security, or personal butlers.
What are the sleeping arrangements aboard a yacht?
It depends on the yacht. For example, you could ask for a master cabin that is separate from your yacht charter guests if you want enhanced levels of privacy. If you are one big family, you can request a yacht with cabins closer together. If sleeping arrangements, including the placement of cabins, are an important consideration, then let your charter broker know.
Are kids allowed on a yacht charter?
Of course, kids are welcome aboard a yacht charter in the Mediterranean. Most yachts welcome nannies, too, with some larger superyachts having additional staff rooms specifically for nannies. A yacht charter offers a wonderful family vacation. A typical crew will include a captain, deck crew, interior crew, and a private chef. Additional crew may include a sommelier, personal fitness trainer, and beauty therapists. The exact roles of the crew will depend on the size and type of your vessel, but you can expect:
- A captain who is responsible for navigating the yacht and ensuring that all safety regulations are followed
- Deck crew who take care of the yacht’s exterior, including maintenance tasks such as cleaning, refueling the vessel, water sports activities, and more
- Interior crew who provide five-star guest services such as serving meals, drinks, cleaning and maintaining the interior, including staterooms, laundry, and more
- A chef who will prepare gourmet meals to your liking.
Ultimately, the crew will strive to make your experience enjoyable and stress-free by handling even the smallest details during your luxury yacht charter.
Can I decide which meals will be made onboard a yacht charter?
Yes, the menu is completely up to you. You and all guests will provide a preference sheet prior to embarking so the chef and interior crew can provision and have all of your favorites aboard the yacht.

From €8,000 per day, mediterranean yacht charter.
With Europe to the north and Africa to the south, the Mediterranean Sea, often referred to as the ‘Med’, is a haven for sailing holidays and yacht rental. Although connected to the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean is almost entirely surrounded by land creating an abundance of beautiful coastal towns located in some of the most beautiful countries on the planet. These include France , Spain , Italy , Croatia , Greece and Monaco just to name a few. Just as popular are some of the islands that the Med is home to including Ibiza , Menorca , Mallorca, Santorini and Corfu . The Mediterranean is a key global sailing location and is home to major international boat shows such as Cannes Yachting Festival and the Mediterranean Yacht Show.
The boats for charter in the Mediterranean are:
Yachts motorboats sailboats catamarans ribs jet-skis sailing yachts motor-yachts, how much does it cost to charter a yacht in the mediterranean.
The price of Mediterranean Boat Charter can vary greatly depending on the type, size and age of the boat, the destination and the length of the charter. Prices also vary depending on the time of year that you hire a boat in the Mediterranean: demand is higher in the summer (high-season) and as such prices are higher then too. With Click&Boat you can hire a boat that perfectly fits your needs from as little as € 100 / day up to € 2500 / day for a more luxurious experience. If you intend on renting a boat for a longer period of time and sleeping on board then you can expect to pay from € 650 / week in the low season or € 1500 / week in the high season up to € 17500 / week.
Chartering a Yacht in the Mediterranean
Click&Boat have thousands of boats and yachts available for rental in the Mediterranean including catamarans and motorboats as well as luxury yachts and sailboats. Some of the most popular sailing destinations in the Mediterranean are Spain, Italy and Greece. The Mediterranean is particularly popular for sailing vacations because of the proximity between beautiful, sun-kissed locations. You can go island hopping around Greece and Italy or stay in one location for a week and spend your days visiting secluded beaches and coves.
Where to begin your sailing vacation in the Mediterranean
The Mediterranean Sea covers 2.5 million km² and as such there are countless harbours to choose to begin your sailing vacation from. Some specific harbours are worth mentioning to send you in the right direction for deciding your starting point. Porto Cervo on the Italian Island of Sardinia is a popular spot because of its destination and capacity. It can fit up to 700 boats including larger boats and is incredibly close to the famous beaches of Costa Smeralda Port de Saint-Tropez in Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera in France is another very popular location. Also accommodating over 700 boats, it is one of the larger harbours and you can expect to see superyachts here. Other notable harbours in the MEditerranean worth mentioning are ACI Marina Split, Ibiza Magna Lefkas Marina and Limassaol Marina.
What is there to see when you charter a yacht in the mediterranean?
The type of boat you hire will almost entirely depend on the type of holiday you want to have which will also affect what you will want to see in the Mediterranean. You might hire a catamaran to have a relaxed family holiday, a sailing boat to try something adventurous by sailing between islands or you could charter a yacht and spend your time swimming in secluded coves whilst living that luxurious life on-board your boat. If you are looking for spots of natural beauty then look no further than the Amalfi Coast of Italy. UNESCO named the Amalfi Coast an outstanding example of a mediterranean landscape. If you are looking for something more lively and fancy visiting some of the world’s most famous bars and clubs then I am sure you don’t need to be told twice to make a stop in Ibiza - famous for its lively nightlife and nightclubs. If you are someone who enjoys history and loves to learn about the history and culture of the places you are visiting then you are spoilt for choice with the mediterranean with places like Athens and Venice normally being top of the list.
When is the best time to visit the mediterranean?
The high-season in the Mediterranean typically runs from May to the end of August with July and August being by far the most popular and busy times of the year. With this in mind, it is often a good idea to avoid July and August and instead plan your trip for either side of the high-season. May and June or September and October are the best times to visit the Mediterranean because the weather is still sunny, the waters are warm and the crowds are fewer. For sailing specifically, Spring is the best as the waters are calmer but the sun is still shining. If we were to suggest one time of the year to take you sailing vacation it would be during May and June.
What is included in a yacht rental in the Med?
Yacht charters in the Mediterranean vary considerably in boat type, length of time and price of the charter. For those who have a sailing license, bareboat charters are available and for those who don't then you can hire a yacht that comes with a skipper and even a crew. It is completely normal to hire a boat through Click&Boat that includes a captain to tour you through the waters and lots of our listings include added or optional extras too. From snorkelling and diving equipment to jet-skis and wakeboards.

10 Below Deck Charter Guests Who Will Never Return To The Franchise
- Some charter guests on Below Deck have caused unnecessary drama and won't likely return due to bad behavior.
- Captain Glenn Shephard from Below Deck Sailing Yacht faced backlash from Barrie, who called him two-faced.
- Former guest Dr. Francis Martinis will not return to Below Deck after he was arrested for faking prescriptions.
The Below Deck franchise has featured many charter guests since 2013, many of whom will never return . The Bravo series focuses on expensive charters with wealthy guests who have attitude problems and over-the-top demands. That includes Charter guest Alexis Bellino, who boarded Captain Lee Rosbach’s yacht with her boyfriend at the time, Andy Bohn. She was disrespectful and made everyone uncomfortable with her and Andy's PDA. She even insulted crew members after featuring on the show.
Like Alexis, Delores Flora from Below Deck season 8 was a terrible guest. Not only did she misbehave, but she also got drunk and s wam while intoxicated, which is not only not allowed, it frightened the crew members. Delores got kicked out of the yacht the next day. These guests created unnecessary drama on the boat and will likely never return like a few others from the franchise.
20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now
Barrie & tony, below deck sailing yacht.
Barrie and Tony Drewitt Barlow had a decent time in the Below Deck Sailing Yacht seasons 2 and 3. Despite that, they left with a bitter taste because of Captain Glenn Shephard. In 2021, Barrie participated in a podcast, Pita Party: The Podcast , where he claimed that Captain Glenn bothered him while using his phone .
Barrie said, “he (Captain Glenn) was a two-face b*stard,” adding that he just didn’t like his presence.
Below Deck Mediterranean
In Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, Charter guest Frank Fay had a thing for second stew Kyle Viljoen. He pursued him on the yacht, but unfortunately, their relationship didn’t last. Frank will likely never return to the series as long as Captain Sandy Yawn allows Kyle to work for her. Even if Kyle quits, Frank wouldn’t want to be in an environment that would remind him of his failed relationship.
Erica Rose appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht two seasons in a row. Erica was highly offensive toward the crew member, as well as her husband, Charles Sanders, and to make things worse, she left the crew with a measly tip , leading fans to slam her on social media. Ultimately, Erica had to apologize for her bad attitude but never returned to give the crew the tip they deserved. Nobody on Below Deck Sailing Yacht would ever want to return.
Justin Guarini
Justin Guarini’s time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht was not dramatic at all; however, he’ll probably never return to the series. Justin wouldn’t return because he wasn't the primary guest. He joined his friend, Kim, who wanted to enjoy a luxury yacht trip. It was more of a one-and-done deal. Secondly, nobody recognized him at all. Viewers later realized who he was and how he was the runner-up on American Idol season 1. Justin is a theatre artist and has made a name for himself. However, it was embarrassing that so many fans had no clue who he was .
Below Deck: 8 Charter Guests With The Worst Attitudes
Johnny damon.
Johnny Damon’s time at Below Deck Med was full of explosive moments. Once, he sent the food back, citing that the experience wasn’t “five stars.” On another occasion, his wife, Michelle, created drama by yelling at the owner of another yacht . Overall, the experience was simply terrible on both sides. Crew members didn’t love Johnny and his wife, and the couple didn’t respect the crew members. It is unlikely that Captain Sandy would want to host the couple again as long as she’s in charge.
Krystal Murphy
Former charter guest Krystal Murphy boarded Captain Lee’s yacht with her friends. She immediately began showing red flags, drinking, and just being a menace. Krystal fought with her friend, Chelsea, creating unnecessary drama. She even passed out and punched a friend in the face. Former Chief Stew Kate Chastain disliked serving Krystal and called her a “spoiled brat;” she wanted to throw her off the yacht. Nowadays, Krystal has seemingly become a more private person. It doesn’t seem like Krystal would want to be on TV again.
Steve Bradley
Below Deck fans should remember Steve Bradley as he made many appearances on the show. In Below Deck season 3, he wanted a foam party and demanded the crew to figure it out and follow his commands, acting like a king. In Below Deck season 6, Steve made more outrageous requests. Apart from being a wild guest, Steve was entitled and acted inappropriately at times . No Below Deck captain would want to host him again as he didn't come off as very likable.
Dr. Francis Martinis
Below deck mediterranean & below deck sailing yacht.
Dr. Francis Martinis from Below Deck Med and Below Deck Sailing Yacht has a zero chance of returning. While the former charter guest didn’t have too many issues on the show, his personal life issues will stop him from appearing on Bravo again. According to TMZ , Dr. Francis and his wife, Jessica, were arrested for filling out fake prescriptions in December 2023 . The couple used the names of Below Deck stars and got caught red-handed. The Below Deck franchise would never want to welcome felons, especially when their mugshots are all over the internet.
Below Deck airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.

Here are the most expensive homes sold in Duval County for early 2024
Classic lines and traditional styles were the stars of the show when it came to Duval County's top home sales in January.
With few exceptions, the spacious homes incorporated plenty of cedar shake and Florida vernacular architecture, with a sprinkling of French Provincial and Mediterranean-inspired looks as well. Built from 1947 to 2017, all were beautifully maintained, with enough modern updates to ensure lasting value. As always, a majority of the top home sales also included stunning ocean or river views.

Sold for $3.5 million on Jan. 9, the seven-bedroom, 5.5-bath home offered its new owners abundant space for entertaining, as well as family living. ‘Below Deck’ Sails Into a New Era
With a different captain at the helm and new production elements, the reality show about charter yachts is switching up its style.
By Shivani Gonzalez
Starting a new season of “ Below Deck ” can be similar to returning to summer camp as a kid — you know it’s going to be fun and that you’ll be in the same environment, but some of the people will be different and you’re not quite sure what the vibes will be.
This time around, in particular, feels that way because for the first time in the show’s 11-season run, Captain Lee Rosbach is no longer at the helm. It’s a pivotal moment for a franchise that has become one of the most popular entities in the sprawling universe of reality TV since premiering on Bravo in 2013 . The show’s appeal was built on endless romances between various crew members (“boatmances,” as they came to be known), horrible charter guests and some sort of passive-aggressive fight about how many shackles of the anchor chain should be in the water. And there was always Rosbach presiding over the drama as he trudged around the boat, reeling off one liners like “I’m madder than a pissed-on chicken” and “we screwed the pooch so many times we should have a litter of puppies running around.”
At the center of the show now is Kerry Titheradge (the stern yet goofy captain of “Below Deck Adventure” fame), who is managing the Motor Yacht Saint David with the cheeky chief stew Fraser Olender by his side.
With that change in captain, the energy on the boat — both onscreen and off — is different, according to Olender.
“I feel like Kerry this season, as opposed to Lee, has a no B.S. attitude, which I love with him,” Olender said in an interview. “With Kerry, he taught me a lot and sort of forced to me confront issues directly with my team, work them out, as opposed to making executive decisions too soon.”
This shift in management style changes the central conflict — whereas the drama once focused on the captain swiftly kicking out any unpleasant crew member (as we might have seen with Rosbach), the drama now focuses on the whole crew trying to get along (since Titheradge gives people those second chances).
Additionally, Olender noted that the captain’s relationship with the crew can also affect the drama on board.
“Captains absolutely do get involved, whether they know it or not,” Olender said, adding that for the crew, everything is about “trying to impress your captain.”
This phenomenon plays out early in the new season when the lead deckhand, Ben Willoughby, called out a fellow crew member over the radios about not wearing a life vest — something he easily could have done in private. The drama that followed became an interpersonal conflict between the two of them, both with the ultimate goal of impressing Titheradge. (Of course, the two deckhands had kissed on the previous crew night out, which is more in line with the “Below Deck” drama viewers are used to.)
For “Below Deck” showrunners, the changeovers in the cast allowed them to rethink what the show would look like.
From the season premiere, it was immediately apparent that Rosbach’s absence wasn’t the only change this season: The filming is sleeker, the daily, multicourse meals prepared by the chef are given their own glamour shots and the cameras sometimes cut to the perspectives of yachties running around on deck and through the galley.
“Our showrunner, Lauren Simms, is an avid consumer of all different kinds of media,” Noah Samton, a senior vice president of unscripted current production for NBCUniversal, said in an interview. “She pitches us different ideas on how to stylistically evoke different feelings and change the mood a little bit of ‘Below Deck’ without removing what really works.”
Moving through the rest of the season, and potentially through seasons to come, Olender is aiming to bring a cutthroat management style while also bringing affection for his stews, all with his signature British humor.
On Bravo’s side, there are changes in the works for the other “Below Deck” spinoffs — including “Sailing Yacht,” “Mediterranean” and “Down Under” — which collectively, have 26 seasons. Specifically, Samton said that “Down Under” is currently filming and that even though fans should be ready to see new things, the show will stay true to its original concept.
“These are real yachties doing a real job so you have to stay within those confines because the audience isn’t going to want anything that is too produced or fake,” Samton said. “So we have to find ways to reinvent while staying true to the original concept of the show.”
And as Olender said: “I’m sure that every year if I were to work with this franchise again, that I’ll be thrown a collection of total chaotic and disastrous stews — that’s what makes it watchable.”
