The VIP catamaran cruise is an adults only boat trip for the most relaxing day out to indulge in. This is one of the most popular days out from Ayia Napa and Protaras and gives you a full 5 and a half hours cruising along the dramatic east coast of Cyprus.

This is an all-inclusive cruise with an open bar and buffet lunch included. Our sailing will take you past busy beaches and smaller bays and coves of the East coast towards the Famagusta ghost town viewpoint. View the dramatic rocky coastline of Cape Greco and the beautiful Konnos Bay nestled in between the pine trees. There are two swimming stops included where you can experience the fresh crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean.

The Mediterraneo II Catamaran has nets with mattresses for sunbathing, shaded seating area and a bar area, plus a new flybridge area with sunbeds and a sundeck. As a VIP cruise there are less passengers on board than regular cruises and you get a few extras such as fresh seasonal fruit and an upgraded buffet lunch. Your transport is also included from Ayia Napa and Protaras areas.

Pick up is included from all Ayia Napa areas and Protaras / Pernera / Kapparis areas. Return transport back after the cruise is also included.

Pick up will be from designated pick up points around the resort. Your nearest pick up point may be a few minutes walk from your hotel. Your exact pick up location and time will be advised upon confirmation.

Please be waiting at the pick up point before the time stated in case the bus is running early.

The cruise departs from the jetty at Green Bay. Occasionally for weather reasons it may depart from Ayia Napa or Protaras.

Transport from Ayia Napa and Protaras to the jetty is included in your ticket. If you would like to make your own way to the jetty or are arriving from a different area, please let us know on your booking and we will give you details on how to meet the boat. Pick ups start in Ayia Napa at 08.15 and Protaras at 08.45. Please book at least 2 days in advance.

The Mediterraneo II has capacity for up to 80 passengers over the main deck and the flybridge (upper deck). On this VIP cruise the maximum capacity is 65 passengers. On the main deck there is a shaded seating area and sunbathing space on the rigging nets, as well as the bar and buffet serving area. Upstairs there are mattresses and cushions. Background music is provided via the onboard sound system.

The catamaran has free WIFI, toilets and freshwater shower.

The bar has a range of snacks and souvenirs available for purchase.

Snorkelling gear, kayaks, SUP's and inflatables are available to use.

Sparkling wine and champagne, Imported brand drinks.

Towels, Swimwear, Sun Cream

Sailing from Green Bay, cruising towards Famagusta Bay. We have a view of Famagusta ghost town and a swim stop at Kypros Bay. We then sail back past Protaras with a swim stop at Konnos Bay and the Blue Lagoon. Finally we sail past Cape Greco to the Lovers Bridge rock formation, Ayioi Anargyroi church and caves then back to our starting point.

The catamaran is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for anyone who has difficulty walking.

Over 16's only, no children permitted on this cruise.

Pick up times start around 08.15 am from Ayia Napa and 08.45 from Protaras.

Pick up points may be up to 5 minutes walk from your accommodation.

First of all they sit you on a bus, that normally would do “hop on hop off”-style, understandable to why you cannot do this, when you go over to the occupied side of Cyprus. They then start to tell you, what you can and cannot do, which is okay, but they don’t give you any “guided” information until you get closer to the border. When you reach Varosha, they send you away with a map to explore the area for 2 hours. Here I was expecting to have a bit more of a proper guide, yes, I can read on the map, but most of the time, I just see completely abandoned buildings, and being the typical tourist I take the photos, but I have no clue of its history and background. The tour guides would walk around and would tell you a little bit about the area, when you saw them, but that’s it, and did not see them very much for the 2 hours we were there. Though the guys were absolutely brilliant, they were in their A-Game, and they would entertain quite a lot on the bus. Would absolutely do the excursion again, and definitely recommend it! This year it was the worse transfer I’ve had. Great to Hotel, return to Larnaca was horrendous. Driver was late. He then promptly picked his mobile phone up. Looking down at it all the time. He veered into the path of an oncoming bus. We both screamed. Thankfully he got back into lane. The driver laughed. He continued to look at his phone whilst driving like an idiot. Overtaking cars, buses at speed. Well over the speed limit of the road. These drivers shouldn’t be allowed on the roads, taking passengers to hotels/airports. One day someone will be killed. Do something about it MTS. We pay good money for a decent safe service. Make sure your hired drivers live up to your reputation. I certainly won’t be using or recommending MTS Globe again. • trickyb 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Very enjoyable day out, make sure you book to sit up top A great tour, Paul is an entertaining & very jovial host, as was Clive the driver (a couple of Brits, everything is done in English). There are a few hotel pick ups you need to put up with and a short wait at the border both ways. Make sure you book a space up on the top (and wear a hat and suncream!), I didn’t see this as an option when we booked (via TripAdvisor) so initially we were placed downstairs. It doesn’t have a lot of ventilation, the fumes from the bus are unpleasant and the audio is hard to hear over the engine noise (old 1980’s bus). Luckily we were able to move upstairs part way through the journey there. Make sure you take passports for all your party, you’ll need them at the border. If you want to find out what happened in 1974 then best read up about it beforehand, the tour doesn’t go into much detail (they have another tour for that!). The town itself is at best “strange” but also fantastic to see how things have just rotted and been taken over by nature. Reminded me a lot of The Last of Us video game. Without the zombies… ;-) They’ve now opened up the beach and you can swim, the water is SO clear (we were there late October and the water was still 26C) and there are sun beds and umbrellas (all free). I can see why the “great and good” flocked there in the early 70’s, although the brutal ‘70s concrete buildings don’t create a very picturesque shoreline. We took the “left” fork to the beach (the right fork is much further walk) and there’s a “restaurant” serving chips, burgers etc. and public toilets that are free. You have to pay for everything by card, no cash. It’s pretty well priced. 2 (large) portions of chips and 2 Fanta was less than £5. All in all you have about 2 hours to wander around and are free to do so on your own, with a basic map pointing out some key buildings. You can hire bikes, e-scooters and golf buggies if you wish (at extra cost) but we enjoyed walking round, soaking up the atmosphere and imagining what it must have been like in its heyday. You’ll struggle to walk the whole place in 2 hours but on the return trip, the bus goes via the residential areas and you can see another view of the town. It’s odd seeing crumbling ruins on one side of the street and “normal” houses with people going about their business on the other side. Safe to say you’re not allowed to enter any of the ruins and the penalties for doing so are very harsh. There are plainclothes people wandering about/hanging out. It’s very clear where you can and can’t go. We all loved the day (with two boys aged 11 and 12) and got back about 3pm (we were collected at the Protaras Plaza, near Star Bucks). Great value for money and we just parked around the corner in the street for free, as we were in a villa. They seem to pick up from a lot of the hotels (or at least nearby), you have to select when you book and then they message with collection details via WhatsApp). Read more Written October 27, 2023
