Luxury Motor Yacht C STAR (ex Podium, Lime Light, Linda Lou) is a 60m (197ft) vessel, launched in 2006 by the famous German Lürssen shipyard with design by the respected Espen Oeino and Francois Zuretti. With last refit by Feadship in 2015, she is one of the elite yachts cruising our waters.

Espen Oeino drew a new design for this exceptional yacht, working from the motor yacht Capri as a starting point but making her larger. Francois Zuretti created a classically inspired design for the yacht’s beautiful interior which was acknowledged with a Design Award for ‘Best Custom Motor Yacht: Interior at the ShowBoats International Awards 2007’. Superyacht C STAR was built by Lürssen to the finest quality symptomatic of the leading yacht builder’s pedigree.

Her main deck provides a large foyer hallway with an impressive staircase. This separates the owners’ area forward from the main salon part of the deck. The yacht’s main saloon aft features large windows which flush the room with natural light. The saloon reveals many curves and corners have been created around and even parts of the ceiling mirror the shape of major furniture items. An extravagant backlit bar in marble separates the salon on superyacht C STAR from the dining area and to ensure owners and guests are provided with the best possible service; the galley and pantry are located on the same deck on the port side adjacent to the dining area.

Moving forward there is a separate owners’ study which leads into the full-beam owners’ suite consisting of a sleeping and a lounging area. For late-night entertainment, a flat-screen is hidden behind a mirror and a sitting area with a second screen completes the master suite. There is also a separate his and hers bathroom and dressing room. Extensive use of marble provides a very luxurious and vibrant feeling in this special area.

Four equally king sized guest cabins are located on the lower deck and they are designed and decorated individually featuring extra-large vertical portholes. Plenty of space has been dedicated to these cabins to create comfortable areas for relaxation.

The upper salon offers the guests a bar as well as different seating areas. The aft part can be transformed into a dancing area. Like in the main salon, there is hardly a straight line anywhere and the aft sliding glass doors bulge outwards in a complete semicircle. The aft deck outside offers another seating and dining area. The huge main saloon used the large yacht’ full width (beam) and features spectacular large windows.

Forward on the upper deck, one finds the generous fully integrated bridge equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Nine large vertical windows arranged in a semi-circle form the shape of the wheelhouse and allow for optimal visibility. A large elevated sofa offers a viewing position for guests.

The inside area of the top deck has an observation lounge, a bar as well as a spacious internal dining area. Some of the windows on the side of this salon can be opened, as can the aft sliding doors which recede fully into the structure.

C STAR Specifications

Francois Zuretti has used rare veneers such as madrona on the main deck and lacewood on the upper deck. The woods are mainly high gloss but also matt varnished, accented with detailed wood inlays. To create warm and comfortable spaces, the design blends elegant classical details with contemporary elements.

The very large sundeck aft has multiple uses. It can be used for dining and entertaining, but can also handle a helicopter if needed. Forward of the observation lounge, the top deck provides for a wind-protected area with a Spa Pool and a sunbathing area. Yacht C STAR reaches a top speed of 15,5 knots and has a range of 5.000 nm and is powered by two Caterpillar engines of 1,440 kW each. She is an extremely quiet yacht when running underway because of advanced sound and vibration systems. A watertight door gives access to the huge tender garage which has large lift-up doors on either side. One tender on each side as well as a large selection of sports equipment is stowed here.

Yacht Accommodation

A king-sized full-beam owners’ suite is located on the main deck and this luxurious suite includes a dividable office and separates his and hers bathroom and dressing rooms. On the lower deck, C STAR yacht uniquely offers four equal and comparable king sized cabins, each boasting a private ensuite bathroom, a writing desk and entertainment facilities. On the upper deck, there is one additional cabin with an ensuite bathroom which is best suited to staff or children.

Yacht Owner Cited in Sewage Discharge into Lake Montauk

A man whose yacht was found discharging waste into Lake Montauk late last month is facing a number of charges brought by federal, state, and local authorities.

Charles Vaccaro of Sunny Isles Beach, Fla. was wanted in Florida at the time for theft of government services, though that matter has since been cleared up.

An anonymous tipster alerted East Hampton Town Marine Patrol officers that a yacht at Gurney's Montauk Yacht Club was illegally discharging sewage into the water.

Two people were living aboard the 74-foot yacht, the C-Weed, which was docked at the yacht club for about three weeks, Chief Harbormaster Ed Michels said. It was pumped out when the boat left Port Washington three weeks earlier, but not since, he said. The tanks were full and overflowed into Lake Montauk. "You could certainly smell it," Chief Michels said.

Mr. Vacarro, the president and co-founder of Velez Capital Management in Port Washington, who has a house in Montauk, was not living aboard, but was issued tickets because it was his boat, Chief Michels said. The harbormaster's office tried on several occasions to get Mr. Vaccaro to assist them in the situation, but he did not immediately respond.

Chief Michels called in the State Department of Environmental Conservation and the United States Coast Guard to assist. The Coast Guard boarded the boat on July 26 for an inspection.

The Italian-made 2001 yacht, which Mr. Vaccaro recently purchased, has four heads, Chief Michels said, adding that no one on board knew how to use the pumpout system. Ultimately, the yacht club had to shut off the power being supplied to the boat. The chief said the club owner and staff were "very cooperative."

Coast Guard Petty Officer Ryan O'Hare, second in command at Coast Guard Station Montauk, said the boarding officer could see the discharge coming from the boat. Even so, a dye test on the vessel's toilets was conducted. Officials said it confirmed that sewage from the C-Weed was entering Lake Montauk.

D.E.C. officers issued three misdemeanor tickets, for discharge of sewage in a no-discharge zone, which carries up to a $1,000 fine; for discharging without a  New York State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit and for pollution of waters of a marine district. The latter two carry fines of $3,750 to $37,500 and/or up to one year in jail per day of the violation.

For the federal charges, the Coast Guard cited Mr. Vaccaro for not having closed a valve that would have prevented the sewage from discharging into the water once the tanks were full, and for discharging in a no-discharge zone. A hearing office in Virginia will make a determination with regard to prosecution, Officer O'Hare said.

He described the charges as very serious. "It's not going to go unanswered by the Coast Guard," he said. "The Coast Guard will, one way or another, take action."

The Town of East Hampton cited Mr. Vaccaro for violation of a town ordinance.

“Protection of our natural resources, including water quality, is a top priority," said Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc. "All harbors in the town are designated no-discharge zones, where waste must be contained and properly pumped out in order to prevent pollution.”

While running Mr. Vaccaro’s license, environmental conservation officers discovered an outstanding warrant in Florida on the theft of government services charge. The warrant, related to taxes in Florida, has been cleared and dismissed, according to Mr. Vaccaro's Sag Harbor attorney, Edward Burke Jr.

The yacht owner was taken into custody on July 27, and arraigned on the D.E.C. charges on July 30 in East Hampton Town Justice Court.

“We will vigorously defend Mr. Vaccaro and clear his name from these charges," Mr. Burke said in a statement.

Mr. Vaccaro is due back in Justice Court next Thursday.

C Yacht – Contemporary $55M Superyacht

C Yacht is an incredible Superyacht from Baglietto and was launched by the Italian shipyard in 2021.

She was commissioned by an anonymous owner who wanted a custom-built yacht to accommodate a large family onboard.

Hot Lab contributed to the interior designs of the yacht, and Horacio Bozzo Design penned her exterior designs.

The fantastic boat is a head-turner for its style and supreme comfort levels on board.

Hot Lab designed the interior of the C Yacht. The award-winning design studio is based in Milan, Italy. The vessel has accommodations for 17 guests in 7 cabins.

The configuration of the accommodations is two master suites, two VIPs on the main deck, two double cabins with Pullmans, and a children’s cabin on the lower level.

The accommodation on the lower deck for 13 crew members ensures that the yacht offers a luxurious experience for its guests.

The galley is also on the lower deck to ensure guests are undisturbed by the movement of staff onboard.

The yacht’s interior features a higher-than-standard headroom, which allows there to be greater volume for design flare compared to other vessels of her size.

The yacht features a modern and cozy interior with many colored woods, leather accents, brass, and lacquered panels. The addition of calming blues and green hues mirrors the “shimmering sea.”

A beach club on the lower levels opens up on three sides, allowing for maximum airflow and light. The area is packed with amenities such as a fully equipped gym, massage room, and a hammam.

The yacht was commissioned by an experienced owner who wanted a perfect vessel for hosting a large family on board.

The four decks of the superyacht are ideal for catering to an outdoor experience on the water, with plenty of seating and lounging areas under the sun to soak up the rays.

A pool and a jacuzzi with alfresco dining areas make the yacht an incredible experience for those on board. 

C yacht exterior

The exterior of the C Yacht was designed by Horacio Bozzo Design, an Italian boat builder based in Viareggio. She was built by Baglietto, who also penned the naval architecture for the superyacht.

She features an aluminum hull and superstructure and teak decks. C is the third-largest vessel built by Baglietto. She features a semi-displacement hull which offers excellent seakeeping.

The amazing custom commission yacht was delivered in 2020 from Baglietto’s La Spezia shipyard and refitted in 2021. 

C yacht specifications

C Yacht is a 54.6m yacht with a 10.4m beam and a 2.6m draft. The vessel has a top speed of 16 knots thanks to her Caterpillar engine and a cruising speed of 12 knots, giving her a cruising range of 4500 nautical miles.

The yacht has a displacement of 902 gross tons. C features anchor stabilizers which ensure that guests experience exceptional comfort levels while onboard.

She has a Lloyds register classification and an annual running cost of $5.5 million.

The bilge system is operated by 2 electrically driven centrifugal pumps and 2Bilge ejectors. The centrifugal pumps are also used as fire and ballast pumps. The pressure side of the bilge ejector can also be operated by each fire pump. The suction lines of the bilge ejectors are connected to the bilge main. Each watertight compartment has a suction strum box to the bilge main. Additionally, the engine room is fitted with two direct suctions from the suction side of the fire/bilge pumps, and one emergency suction from one chilled water pump. One ejector is installed for draining chain locker and fore peak.

ACCOMMODATION

Access to the sundeck is via an exterior staircase on the port side from the bridge deck. Forward are two circular sunbathing pads. There is an outdoor cinema screen with a projector and a surround sound system. Forward of the mast there is a glass bar with stools, and full wet bar service station portside with built in electric BBQ. In the center of the deck is a large sunbed area and split coffee or dining table. Retractable sliding sunroofs are in the hardtop. The stack also houses the emergency generator.

Bridge Deck

The bridge has great visibility due to the reverse angle bridge windows and the full walk-around wing controls port and starboard. In addition to the two helm seats, there are two settees with coffee tables, ideal for guests wanting to visit the bridge whilst in navigation. Aft of the bridge to starboard is the ship’s office, which then leads into the captain’s study and further aft into the captain’s cabin. A convenient and discreet door leads into the crew stairs that service all decks down to the tank deck. A day head is conveniently located in the lobby area.

Aft of the bridge is the bridge deck lobby with the elevator, which services all decks down to the tank deck.The guest stairway is also off this lobby. Aft is the gym, which boasts floor to ceiling windows port and starboard. The gym is currently equipped with a “Techno Gym” cross trainer, static bike, tread mill, as well as a wall-mounted “Technogym Kinesis” and an array of free weights and bench.

Aft doors lead onto the aft bridge deck or “Jacuzzi deck”, which is partially covered; this aft section is equipped with awnings. The large 6 person Jacuzzi is fitted aft, with a bar and stools located starboard side. A shower and small wet bar/service station positioned on the starboard side, whilst on the port side is a day head. Two sun pads lay either side of the jacuzzi, perfect for lounging.

Owner’s Deck

On the bow is the working area with mooring cleats and the anchor windlass. Aft of this is the rescue tender and crane.

Aft of this are two cozy seating areas with bench seats as well as tables for the Owner’s use. These exterior areas are accessed from either side of the Master suite using the deck doors from the beautiful panoramic Owner’s suite, which boasts a 180° view via reverse-angled bridge-style windows. The king bed faces forward on the centerline of the vessel. Aft of this are two en-suite bathrooms, a his and hers, complete with dressing room, beautifully fitted out in polished marble. Full length hanging wardrobes are included, as well as the normal storage found in a dressing room.

Aft of the Owner’s suite is the Owner’s Office, fitted with a beautiful L shaped leather inlay desk. Off the office lies the guest stairway, elevator and day head, with a service door accessing crew stairway. On the starboard side there is a deck door to access the Owner’s deck area. Aft of this is the doorway into the Owner’s lounge. A comfortable “L” Shaped sofa and a further port side sofa offer comfortable and relaxed seating. A discreet davenport is situated to port facing out through the large side windows, which are a feature on both sides of the lounge. Center of the room there is a large smart TV, located above a decorative fireplace that, together with the driftwood floors and the lovely choice of fabrics, makes for an extremely cozy and informal atmosphere. This lounge can be serviced via the service pantry, which has separate access along with the crew stairway to ensure the finest and most discreet service.

Aft doors lead out onto the upper aft deck or “Dining Deck”. This vast entertaining deck is one of the principals and most used areas of the yacht. A central dining table that seats 12 is the center of attraction, whilst flanked on the port side by a semi-circular wet bar complete with bar stools and marbletopped cabinet used to layout the most lavish buffets and to mix the most exotic cocktails. This houses a double drawer fridge and undercounter wine fridge. To starboard there is a small circular table, enabling a small party to dine intimately, or for cards and gaming. Aft of this is another cabinet perfect for larger buffets. The aft area of the deck is not covered; however, it is equipped with 2 awnings providing plenty of shade. There is further seating aft as well as a coffee table both port and starboard. There are two recessed skylights on each side, letting in natural daylight to the covered areas. In addition to this, there are doors forward to allow guests to shut off the side decks in order to reduce wind, which can be further reduced by sliding the side glass windows. This space can also be cooled using the water mist system installed over the dinning and bar, making this deck a true “indoor/outdoor area”.

A generous passageway gives access to the guest suites, all of which benefit from large windows, iPod docks, iPad controls and safes.

Cabin 4 is forward to starboard with a king bed, leather drawers and desk with vanity. There is good closet space and a 40-inch TV mounted forward. The bathroom is forward with bathtub, WC and basin, and the floor and countertops are finished in polished marble.

Cabin 2 is adjacent on the port side fully furnished as a children cabin with 2 sets of bunks sleeping 4. This Vcabin allows for plenty of natural daylight and has a 40-inch TV for guest entertainment mounted inboard. Once again, there is plenty of closet space. The en-suite is forward and features a large walk-in cubicle shower, WC and sink. Both the flooring and countertops are finished in polished marble.

Cabin 3 is just aft to starboard and boasts a king bed, forward of which is a desk with leather inlay. There is ample hanging space and once again, this cabin is flooded with daylight. The 40-inch TV is mounted on the forward bulkhead. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, WC and sink, and both the flooring and countertops are in polished marble.

Cabin 1 is adjacent on the port side and boasts a king bed, forward of which is a dresser and desk with leather inlay. There is ample hanging space in a double wardrobe and once again, this cabin is flooded with daylight. The 40- inch TV is mounted on the forward bulkhead. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, WC and sink, and both the flooring and countertops are in polished marble.

Forward of the guest suite is the passageway with a discreet door leading into the crew staircase. Just aft of this is the main guest staircase that leads all the way up to the Owner’s deck, bridge deck and sundeck.

Aft of the guest passageway leads into the Main Salon. To starboard is a cozy seating area with a Hi-Lo 64-inch TV built into a cabinet. In the forward starboard corner of the salon area is a doorway that leads into the Spa, Massage Room. This room with soft furnishings is equipped with an Oak works massage table, for optimum comfort and relaxation. With a fully fitted bathroom with stall shower, WC and sink, all finished in rich polished marble, making this a calming space for guest to retreat in.

On the port side of the main salon is the Bar area with a large onyx bar with 5 bar stools for evening cocktails or casual dinner. Large storage cabinets located aft for all glassware and table services. Forward of the bar area is a discreet door that leads into the main deck pantry, which also has direct access to the crew stairway. This pantry is fully equipped with a sink, microwave, fridge and ice maker, with great countertop space to ensure efficient service.

Aft doors from the salon lead out to the aft deck area. To both sides, the staircases lead up to the upper dining deck. In the alcove is a discreet day head. Both port and starboard sides have a gate installed that can be opened and fitted with the Marquip side boarding ladder. A central passageway leads to the lower aft deck, which is fitted out with large guest seating areas to port and starboard that both have coffee tables and is an ideal area to have sundowners close to the water. The central stairs lead down to the large bathing platform, giving easy access to the water and indeed to and from the tenders. A transom door leads into a beach club area with shower and sauna for guests to enjoy. The water sports equipment is also stored in here.

There is a large hydraulic boarding gangway on the aft port quarter, which can service both portside-to or stern-to berthing.
