With islands close to each other, marinas on virtually every central island and an abundance of itineraries, a Bahamas yacht charter is the perfect luxury holiday.

When is the yachting season in Bahamas?

Yachting season in the Bahamas falls between November to April, where temperatures average between 27 to 28 degrees Celsius. The islands fall under the hurricane belt, with the annual Atlantic hurricane season between June to November.

Bahamas yacht charter for a day

One of the most popular options for a full-day boat rental in the Bahamas is a luxury catamaran. Sailing luxury catamarans, in particular, are ideally suited for the sailing condition in the Bahamas. These boat options can carry guests from an intimate party of 2 to a large group of 30 guests onboard. What makes a luxury catamaran an excellent option for cruising in the Bahamas is its small draft, allowing you to go through shallow waters, which can bring you closer to secret coves and hidden beaches.

The Bahamas offers unlimited options to spend a whole day yacht charter with hundreds of islands to explore. For one of the most popular destinations in the region, Harbour Island is definitely on the top list. Only two hours from Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, Harbour Island is home to the world-famous pink sand beaches. Dubbed as the crown jewel of the Caribbean, if you only have a yacht charter for a day, then this spot is the best place to spend a few hours of your Bahamian holiday. Explore its beautiful beaches, pastel-painted cottages, and of course, marvel at the beautiful and perfectly-soft, pink sand beaches.

Another worthwhile destination in the Bahamas you shouldn't miss for a full-day luxury catamaran boat rental is the Conception Island National Park. It is home to a wide range of wildlife, from green turtles to sea birds, whale sharks, migratory birds, and reef sharks. And of course, you can also take your luxury catamaran for a full-day itinerary exploring several of the 365 cays that dot the Exumas.

Bahamas yacht charter overnight

For an overnight yacht charter in the Bahamas, head to the Exuma Islands with over 365 smaller islands around it. An overnight charter will have you sleeping on your private yacht in a bay, where the soft waves gently rock you, and you wake up to a beautiful sunrise over cerulean waters.

Depart from Georgetown, the capital of the Exuma Islands, and head to Highborne Cay, an idyllic location for an overnight stay. You can kayak and snorkel at Horseshoe Bay, with its uninhabited beach, then head over to Allan's Cay with 3-feet iguanas waiting for you at the beach. You can then spend a beautiful dinner at a hilltop restaurant with 360-degree views of this unspoiled paradise.

In the morning, head over to Norman Cay, famously home to Carlos Lehder's drug smuggling operations between 1978 and 1982. A sunken plane is now home to a wide array of colourful tropical fish and vibrant corals, perfect for diving. End the day with a sunset cruise before heading back to a Georgetown marina.

Bahamas yacht charter for a weekend

If you have three days to spare, a weekend boat charter in the Bahamas is a must. Enjoy three nights on board your very own private yacht, whether it's a luxury catamaran or a mega yacht that has all the amenities and comforts of a 5-star resort.

A weekend boat charter will allow you to explore some of the Exumas' most beautiful cays. With more than 300 cays, you'll never run out of small islands and beaches to explore. Most of the coves and beaches are uninhabited, so imagine enjoying a day out on a private piece of paradise you can call your own for the weekend. Here is a sample weekend itinerary in the Bahamas, onboard your very own boat charter:

Day 1: Highborne Cay

Spend your first day and night at Highborne Cay, where you can kayak or snorkel at Horseshoe Bay, and discover the famous "Octopus Garden" reef. You can also head out to Leaf Cay beach and enjoy dinner at a hilltop restaurant with breathtaking views of the reef below.

Day 2: Great Guana Cay

On your second day, which is Saturday, spend a full day on the island where locals welcome you at the Black Point Settlement, a quaint little town. There are friendly restaurants on the island, where you will be served traditional Bahamian cuisine and immerse yourself in the local culture. Though there are no moorings on the cay, it features a well-protected and guarded anchorage, which is considered one of the largest in the Exumas.

Day 3: Rose Island

Rose Island is located on the eastern coast of Nassau. It is a small 11-mile-long island with impressive snorkelling conditions, hidden coves, and four beautiful beaches you can choose to spend your day at. On Sundays, which is your 3rd day on board your boat rental, you can join the island's festivities, where a vibrant party scene occurs every week at the seaside restaurants and bars. Suppose you're looking for a more peaceful anchorage or experience. In that case, however, you can stay overnight at the northern side of the island before you head back and culminate your weekend yacht charter around the Exumas.

Bahamas yacht charter for a week

With so many islands, a week-long liveaboard on your yacht charter is the perfect way to explore the Bahamas. Enjoy days out in the waters anchored on secluded and protected bays, immerse yourself in the local cultures, and enjoy the natural scenery. Here is a sample one-week itinerary for your yacht charter in the Bahamas.

Day 1: Nassau

Enjoy a day out in this capital onboard your private yacht charter. It is a bustling metropolitan capital but with some of the world's most stunning beaches. Powdery white sand and crystal clear, turquoise waters are yours to enjoy, while a host of water sports activities are yours for the taking. Head out to Harbour Island on a 2-hour cruise, and anchor off the bay for the night.

Day 2 & 3: Harbor Island and Eleuthera

Spend a day visiting the town of Harbour Island, enjoy swimming and sunbathing at the pink beaches, then head your way to Eleuthera at the end of the day. On Day 3, explore Eleuthera's beauty, including the Glass Window Bridge, grottos, and diving the Cobia Fish Cage for a unique diving experience.

Day 4 & 5: Staniel Cay and Wardwick Wells

Visit Staniel Cay and the Thunderball Grotto, the most outstanding snorkelling location in the eastern Bahamas. Established as a Land and Sea Park since the 1980s, Wardwick Wells features a fantastic ecosystem and wildlife. It is home to sand dunes, rocky bluffs, mangrove creeks and features miles of hiking trails and crystal clear waters.

Day 6: Shroud Cay and Georgetown

Explore the last spot on the itinerary, which is also located within Exuma Park. It features outstanding natural beauty and pristine waters, famous for its marine life. Head to Georgetown at the end of the day and begin your journey exploring the capital of the Exuma Islands. You can either disembark here or head back to Nassau.

Wedding yacht charter in Bahamas

The Bahamas is the perfect place to have your wedding and honeymoon at the same time. You can book a yacht charter for a wedding on board or use the yacht as your transfer to a secluded, private island for your ceremony. A wedding yacht charter in the Bahamas is a unique opportunity to enjoy your special day in paradise, along with your loved ones, or for an intimate wedding ceremony with just the bride and groom. Once the party is over, you can hop back on board to explore the islands for your week-long honeymoon onboard your yacht charter.

A luxury catamaran is an excellent option for your boat charter, and it's one of the most popular boat options for wedding charters. It is a perfect choice for weddings and all kinds of events and celebrations, such as celebrating a birthday onboard, anniversary, corporate party, and any type of celebration. A luxury catamaran is also a perfect choice for large groups on board, as it can usually accommodate a group of 30 onboard, sailing away on the waters of the Bahamas as you party throughout the day and enjoy a beautiful sunset as you head back to the island.

Luxury yacht charters in Bahamas

The Bahamas is one of the world's leading yacht charter destinations, and it comes as no surprise that you will find some of the world's most superior and impressive superyachts cruising its waters. Most of these luxury yachts are available for charter, and all you have to do is choose one for your full-day, overnight, weekend, or week-long Bahamas escapade. Take your pick from the Bahamas luxury yacht charters that are complete with all the amenities you'd want in a boat and more. As you sail from one island to another, not only will you experience onboard comforts and luxuries, you'll also be pampered by the yacht's dedicated staff and crew that can include a private chef, masseuse, fitness trainer, and more.

To give you an example of what a luxury yacht charter in the Bahamas looks like, here are a few features of a mega yacht that you can rent. A 270-foot yacht that costs around $600,000 for a full-week itinerary sailing the islands can feature 14 dedicated staterooms that can accommodate a group of 28 adults. A boat like this will typically have 28 or more crew members, all dedicated to serving the needs of each guest. Other features included in a luxury yacht rental can consist of water toys such as water slides, jet skis, kayaks, paddleboards, and other water toys. Amenities on board a luxury yacht charter can include a Jacuzzi on deck, a swimming pool, a cinema, a massage room, sunbeds, and more. A true luxury yacht charter in the Bahamas is a 5-star experience in features, safety, services, amenities, and of course, unbelievable experiences cruising around the spectacular islands.

Choose from a week-long yacht charter or a short weekend luxury yacht charter where you have whisked away to uninhabited islands and private beaches that you can enjoy all to yourself. A yacht holiday in the Bahamas is truly a dream vacationer's dream come true. With marinas on every major island, spectacular natural beauty, and plenty of things to do and places to explore, a yacht charter in the Bahamas is the best way to indulge yourself on your holiday.

Getting There

By Yacht Week

Posted on 10th March 2021

Travelling to The Bahamas

The Abacos are easily accessible from the US Mainland. In general from US, Silver Airways, JetBlue and United Airlines fly the most to Marsh Harbour. When traveling to the Bahamas, U.S. citizens enjoy all the conveniences of domestic travel – including on-line check-in. U.S. citizens are generally required to present a valid U.S. passport when traveling to The Bahamas, as well as proof of anticipated departure from The Bahamas.

Non-stop and connecting services from the US mainland to Marsh Harbour (Leonard M. Thompson International Airport - MHH) are available. Most flights make connections in Miami, Dallas. Flights on inter-island carriers can be made from Nassau to Marsh Harbour or to Treasure Cay and between islands. We recommend using a search engine to find the best flights:

Expedia – www.expedia.com

SkyScanner – www.skyscanner.com

Entry, exit, and visa requirements depend on the locations you are departing from and traveling to. You are responsible for having the correct documents so make sure to check with the consulate of the countries you plan to visit before you travel. For other nationalities an ESTA is required and for visa requirements we recommend using VisaHQ to find out if you require any visas to enter the country - www.visahq.co.uk

Getting to your marina

The Best option is to fly to Marsh Harbour followed by a short taxi ride. Alternatively you can opt to use the Bahamas Fast Ferry Services over to Marsh Harbour from Nassau; available once or twice a week. Check the company's webpage for details: https://www.bahamasferries.com/ . If you wish to fly direct to the marina, Charter a private seaplane with Tropic Ocean Airways from South Florida and fly directly to Marsh Harbour, where your yacht is located.

The taxi fare from the airport to the base is approximately $15 USD for the first 2 persons; every additional person is $3 per person. This will prevent you sharing an open-air cab or large van with other travellers where the marina is the last stop.

The Yacht Week will also be drawing on their years of experience as the original ‘floating festival’ to host a series of exclusive themed parties on each route. As always guests can enjoy the iconic ‘circle raft’ parties out at sea, dancing in crystal blue waters, as well as live international DJs performing at incredible venues. Superyachts may also include a helipad and submersibles. The wide range of amenities and voluminous interior spaces of a motor yacht make them a popular choice with families and large groups of friends. Guide to the Bahamas

A paradise retreat of pristine beaches and colourful culture

A slice of tropical perfection, the exquisite and idyllic chain of islands that form the Bahamas offer unparalleled escapism and relaxation. The decadent cocktail of sun-drenched sands, remarkably clear waters teeming with colourful marine life, and landscapes of historic plantations create a picture-postcard destination.

Comprising more than 700 coral islands, the cruising grounds of the Bahamas archipelago offer a quintessential  Caribbean charter experience within easy reach to the US mainland and the transport hubs of Florida. Generally shallow with many lagoons and bays only one or two metres at best, it is ideal cruising territory for yachts with a shallow draft or catamarans .

Less than 50 miles off the coast of Florida , the North Bahamas comprise the Bimini Islands , Grand Bahama Island, Moore’s Island, and the Abaco Islands . From fabulous casinos and world-class golf courses to remote anchorages and lush landscapes, each island has its own distinct identity for enthralling days of island-hopping adventure.

To the north of the Biminis, Grand Bahama Island is a utopia for water-sports enthusiasts with its bustling cities of Freeport and Lucaya offering a host of exhilarating outdoor activities. The east coast of Grand Bahama has vast expanses of beautiful, isolated beaches and mysterious, submerged caves for you to explore. Abound with festivals all year-round; the streets come to life with wild and colourful parades and the pulsating rhythm of drums where every night is a party and every day more exciting than the last.

Lying in the south of the Bahamas, New Providence Island plays host to the Bahamian capital Nassau that retains a sense of the evocative charm the Caribbean held a century ago. Rich in culture and history, colonial architecture and Victorian houses line the streets where 17th-century pirates once ran riot.

When Christopher Columbus first set foot on the Island of San Salvador he is recorded to have said, “The beauty of these islands surpasses that of any other and as much as the day surpasses the night in splendour.” Its diamond-white sands curve invitingly to the turquoise waters that lap the shore whilst lying in the depths off the coast, the reefs are opulent with marine life and hauntingly beautiful wrecks beg to be explored of incredible wrecks waiting to be explored.

Whether you are looking to lounge on palm-fringed white beaches, explore historic villages or try your hand at fishing, diving or sailing, the Bahamas offer it all.

If you feel inspired and want to start planning your next luxury vacation to this Caribbean hostpot, view the entire fleet of superyacht available or Bahamas yacht charters .

7 Days Yacht Charter Itinerary from Nassau, Bahamas

The Bahamas are a collection of hundreds (or perhaps thousands) of islands and atolls easily accessible as they are located a few miles away from the Florida east coasts. This feature has always portrayed them as the destination par excellence of any boater looking for marvelous waters to sail.

SEND YOUR ENQUIRY FOR YOUR CHARTER FROM NASSAU

The capital, Nassau , is located on New Providence island and is also the largest nautical center. The vast majority of charters depart from here. New Providence is also equipped with a convenient international airport, Nassau Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA). It is the fourth busiest airport in the Caribbean and the main international spot in The Bahamas.

One of the most coveted and followed routes once set sail from Nassau is certainly the one that leads to the Exuma Cays, a long strip of hundreds of islets deserted or populated by luxury resorts, up to some bizarre peculiarities such as the iconic swimming pigs. These few features are just some of the reasons why the Exuma archipelago has become one of Bahama’s major tourist attractions.

7-day itinerary to discover the exclusive beauties of Nassau and the Exuma Cays

Day 1 – 7 Days Yacht Charter Itinerary from Nassau, Bahamas

Let’s use the first day of travel to discover Nassau, the capital and largest center of the Bahamas. Let’s talk about an island metropolis in which the classic slow Caribbean rhythms contrast with a big city chaotic life made of culture, art, history, and nightlife.

It welcomes hundreds of thousands of tourists every year who come here mainly thanks to the cruise ships that have made Nassau a must.

It is characterized by a hilly landscape and is famous above all for its beaches and coral reefs, a favorite destination for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts.

Many of the typical pastel-colored buildings of the British colonial era, such as the Government House, painted in pink tones, still remain of historical and artistic interest.

Day 2 – 7 Days Boat Charter Itinerary from Nassau, Bahamas

Setting sail early in the morning from Nassau, we reach in a few hours our first destination, as well as the gateway to the Exuma Cays Land and Sea National Park : Shroud Cay.

This immense marine park, Created in 1958 has an extension of approximately 456 square kilometers, the Exuma Cays Land and Sea National Park was the first land and marine park established in the world with great success. It is a huge reserve where any type of fishing is strictly forbidden and welcomes a huge variety of wildlife. It is a temple for scuba diving and snorkeling lovers.

We set sail in the evening heading south, diving deeper and deeper into the middle of the Exuma Cays.

Day 3 – Week Charter Itinerary from Nassau, Bahamas

Bell’s Cay and Compass Cay

Bells Cay and Little Bells Cay are a couple of islands separated by a beautiful stretch of sea-colored in various shades of blue. A natural channel that is really worth enjoying from the early hours of dawn.

After lunch, we use the early afternoon to move to nearby Compass Cay to swim with nurse sharks and snorkel among thousands of colorful fish.

We decide to stop here for the night, taking advantage of its small harbor.

Day 4 – 5 – 7 Days Sailing Itinerary from Nassau, Bahamas

Big Major Cay – Staniel Cay

We approach the highlight of the trip by sailing to two of the most famous Bahamas islands. We decide to spend two consecutive days here.

Also called Pig Beach, Big Major Cay is home to the famous swimming pigs. Taking a selfie while swimming with adorable pigs splashing around in crystal clear waters is a priceless experience and has long become a tourist must-have.

It is not clear how these sweet pink pigs arrived on this uninhabited island, whether they were the result of a shipwreck or brought on the island by some unwary breeder. Today they have become endemic and a symbol of Exumas around the world. Swimming pigs love cookies, bread, and whatever food so, don’t be greedy!

As famous as Major Cay is Staniel Cay. It hides the Thunderball Grotto, a fantastic underwater cave. Its entrance is hidden underwater, but during low tide hours, you can swim to it and discover a world teeming with colorful tropical fish.

Day 6 – Week Yacht Itinerary from Nassau, Bahamas

Norman’s Cay

We resume the navigation, however, reversing the route. In fact, the time available to us is about to end but the surprises did not end here.

We decide to make a stop at Norman’s Cay, an island once famous for having been the base for the Colombian drug cartels run by the infamous Pablo Escobar, now a much sought-after destination for all snorkelers thanks to the famous Norman Cay plane wreck. The carcass of a crashed plane clearly visible on the seabed as it is located a few meters deep.

Taking a photo is certainly a must.

Paradise Island and back

Before arriving at the port for the final farewell, we spend the last day at sea circumnavigating Paradise Island. Really close to Nassau , its most famous beach, Cabbage Beach, is one of the most popular beaches in the Bahamas , with huge waves and sand as far as the eye can see.

The Bahamas is one of the most exotic holiday destinations in the world. Comprising over 700 islands, it is part of the larger Lucayan Archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean and is scattered off the northeast of Florida in the United States. Made up of small islands called cays (pronounced keys ) and reefs, the Bahamas is best explored in a chartered yacht .

It’s a perfect vacation spot for everyone: from the notoriously popular Bahama beach pigs at Big Major Spot to some of the world’s best catchment areas for a ultimate luxury fishing charter experience, from sailing and ambling in your yacht to swimming underwater amidst the corals and flora and fauna, and easy accessibility from the United States. It’s a summer holiday destination like no other.

Hatch a 7-day plan or shorter to rest and relax in a super boat along the Bahamian and Exumas island stretch and experience some of the most beautiful resort islands in the world. Check out our Bahamas yacht charter itinerary below to see what you can expect from one of the most geologically complex island stretches in the world and some good old hospitality from us.

Bahamas Itinerary - Nassau to Nassau in 7 Days

We cover Nassau through Staniel Cay and return via Eleuthera for a week-long Bahamas yacht charter holiday . However, all our Bahamas yacht charter holidays are fully customizable according to your preferences, weather and sea conditions, and the number of days. We can also create all-inclusive itineraries for a competitive price.

Feel free to suggest your preferences to the captain and be open to recommendations based on the weather during your sail.

Yacht Charter Day 1 – Arrive in Nassau

Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, is usually the best starting point for any Bahamas skippered yacht itinerary as air travel from your source is convenient. Our itinerary starts and ends at Nassau keeping this convenience of air travel in mind. Once you alight and get yourself tucked in in the comforts of the best resort hospitality that Nassau can offer, start with some hobnobbing in the city. Nassau is as crowded as the Bahamas gets.

A vibrant island resort that’s in the heart of the Bahamas, there’s a lot to do and kickstart your holidays here. Do a little jiggy at this entertainment capital of the country while snacking on some local food. Then watch the sunset from your hired yacht while sipping on some locally brewed rum , served the way you like.

Whether you are arriving as a family, a couple, or solo, there’s a lot that Nassau offers. We recommend trying your luck in the world-famous casinos that stretch on the island or just head for some beach time on Paradise Island . Towards the night, get ready for some grown-up indulgence at a luxury spa, a fine diner, or maybe just some cozy time back on the yacht.

Sailing in Nassau – Things to Know

  • Nassau is a crowded part of New Providence, the 11 th largest Bahamian island

Mooring in Nassau – Things to Do

  • Visit casinos, enjoy water slides, and dine at plush restaurants
  • Shop at the Nassau Straw Market
  • Go for a rum tasting session

yacht week bahamas

This is where things get interesting. Highborne Cay or Highbourne Cay is a private island, inviting you into the vast stretch of the breathtaking Exumas . Interesting because cruise ships and cruises can’t go in, and this is where your tropical Bahamas holiday yacht charter actually begins.

If the dreamy waters of the Nassau beaches weren’t enough, here are some more options of the pristine turquoise along the 3-mile stretch. After mooring at the central marina, walk into the island to explore any of the eight wide beaches on the island for some “me” time. We recommend the pristine East Beach that’s yet untouched by the vagaries of mankind.

However, the best thing to do in Highborne Cay is to take a dive boat and explore the rich coral ecosystem around the Austin Smith shipwreck that rests 60 feet below. It was a 90-foot Bahamian Defense Force patrol vehicle that was decommissioned in 1995. Today, the wreck is a lively example of nature’s power to regrow as you’ll find exotic coral, sponges, and sea fans lining the wreck. Quite an experience if you’re a serious diver.

Sailing in Highborne Cay – Things to Know

  • Highbourne Cay Marina and Resort charges for fuel, dockage, and power

Mooring in Highborne Cay – Things to Do

  • Dive to the wreck of an old cutter ( Austin Smith ), down 60 feet
  • Visit the Horseshoe Bay , an anchorage named after its shape
  • Engage in scuba diving, swimming, and snorkeling
  • Visit the marina restaurant Xuma
  • Swim with or feed the nurse sharks around the marina

yacht week bahamas

Just like Highborne Cay, Norman’s Cay is also partly uninhabited . Hence, there is no dearth of beautiful corals and the exotic underwater flora and fauna in the turquoise waters that splash on the resplendent beaches. Walk on the sandy beachfront lined with palm trees and spend the day ambling around.

While Norman’s Cay wears a calm look throughout the year, it’s amusing to note that it was once a haven for drug smugglers and pirates , in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Post the turn of the millennium, when the Bahamas experienced globalization, the cay was bought and turned into a private island. However, it still has a whiff of its olden days with the remains of a mansion and plain wreckage dotting its shallow waters.

Towards the end of your 3 rd day in Bahamian waters, enjoy the stunning scenery and indulge in some local concoctions and aperitifs.

Sailing in Norman’s Cay – Things to Know

  • Norman Cay is a private island

Mooring in Norman’s Cay – Things to Do

  • Visit the wreckage of a mansion on a beach and a plane underwater

yacht week bahamas

Yacht Charter Day 4 – Warderick Wells Cay

This is the day when you and your Bahamian chartered yacht enter the mid-section of the Exuma stretch. Warderick Wells Cay, officiated in 1958 as a land and sea reserve extending to more than 112,000 acres, still maintains its ecological balance. This is one prime reason why your charter will be piloted with more care. As you can guess, fishing is strictly prohibited .

Despite the ecological boundaries, you can explore much of Warderick Wells on foot. The beaches offer a blend of scenic views and a fresh breeze from the southwest. Its thriving marine life calls for a definite snorkeling dip underwater , which is bound to be one of your best experiences in the Bahamas.

Sailing in Warderick Wells – Things to Know

  • Fishing is prohibited ( no-take reserve ) in Warderick Wells due to the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park
  • Mooring can cost $20 and upwards

Mooring in Warderick Wells – Things to Do

  • Hike through one of the walking trails
  • Snorkeling or swimming in the shallow waters near the reserve

yacht week bahamas

Day 4 calls you to shun the snorkeling tubes and go for your swim of a lifetime.

That’s right! A day stop at the Staniel Cay signals one of the most Instagram-worthy experiences of your life: playing with the Bahamas’ famous swimming pigs . We mean, what is a Bahamian holiday without a picture with these permanent residents of the cay, majorly located at the Big Major’s Spot (Pig Island)! There’s also plenty of room (without the pigs) on the waters and the beaches for some kayaking and family picnicking respectively.

Spend your afternoon at the Thunderball Grotto and see if you can guess the spot from not one but two yesteryear James Bond films. Or skip the underwater hike and go swim with the baby sharks near the Staniel Cay marina .

Sailing in Staniel Cay – Things to Know

  • Staniel Cay is an inhabited island with a population of roughly 100
  • Staniel Cay Yacht Club charges for fuel, dockage, and power
  • Carry some food like carrot and celery for the pigs
  • The pigs may bite , so be careful

Mooring in Staniel Cay – Things to Do

  • Visit the Thunderball Grotto
  • Play with the Bahamas beach pigs at Big Major’s Spot
  • Swim with a rich marine life consisting of parrotfish, grunt, and angelfish

yacht week bahamas

Eleuthera is the last stop in our 6-day Bahamas yacht itinerary and thus comes with an obvious relaxation memo. This is because the cruise from Staniel Cay can take most of the day.

The small island itself located on the easternmost edge of the Bahamas is fascinating, with one side offering blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean for deep sea diving and the other the trademark Exumas sandy beaches with shallow Caribbean waters . But swim or dive, and you are bound to run into the incredible marine life ( mostly turtles ) that’s so omnipresent in these waters you’ll be tempted to stay a bit longer. The Edwin’s Turtle Lake Marine Reserve is one such spot to focus on.

Eleuthera is one of the most underrated islands in the Bahamas and a pit stop is definitely worthwhile. Or say our patrons who prefer to enjoy a laidback evening on the island before heading back to Nassau. There are several resorts for a night-stay or more if you’d like to extend your Bahamas yacht itinerary.

Sailing in Eleuthera – Things to Know

  • 4 th most populated island in the Bahamas; population 11,000
  • French Leave Harbour Resort charges for dockage and resort stay

Mooring in Eleuthera – Things to Do

  • Explore the Glass Window Bridge , the skinniest road on the island cutting the Atlantic and the Caribbean
  • Visit the French Leave Beach in the Governor’s Harbor

yacht week bahamas

The sail back to Nassau is the longest and can take about 6 hours . But thankfully there’s respite at the end as saying goodbye to the Bahamas and getting ready for your trip back home will be easier. The sail itself will be enthralling as you can sit back and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Bahamas archipelago at a meandering pace.

We recommend spending a few hours post anchor on the island and exploring local delicacies and concoctions. By sundown, head to the airport in a taxi.

Let us organise your perfect Bahamas yacht charter experience with our bespoke itineraries

Our expert brokers know the cruising grounds intimately, both personally through first-hand experience and in real time through contacts on the ground. Your itinerary will be tailored specifically for you to deliver the holiday you want.

New to charter?

The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is due at the time of the final charter payment. Under MYBA terms, this sum is usually equivalent to 30 per cent of the total charter fee, but may be up to 40 per cent in some cases.

Intended to cover the operating expenses of a charter as explained under Charter Terms, such as fuel, food, drinks, port fees and ad hoc incidentals, the APA will be given to the captain before the start of your charter. The Captain will ensure that the yacht is fully fuelled and provisioned when you step on board. While an up-to-date summary of accounts can be requested at any time during your charter, a full set of accounts will normally be submitted by your captain at the end of the cruise. If, during the charter, the expenditure exceeds the sum already paid, additional cash funds will be required at once.

All outstanding bills from the yacht charter should be settled in cash or by bank transfer before your final disembarkation. Of course, any remaining credit at the end of your charter will be reimbursed to you in full. On request, transfer arrangements to and from the yacht can be made by Burgess or by the yacht’s captain, payment for which will be deducted from your APA.

Best Bahamas Cruises

C ruises to the Bahamas are filled with sun, soft sands, and the opportunity to dip your toes in a warm and seductive crystal blue sea. The 700-island archipelago is the kind of oasis you dream of when, in my case at least, you're indoors on a cold and dark day in Cleveland. Exploring the islands is tricky by air, but much easier via ship. Bahamas cruises to take right now include quick jaunts from easy-to-get-to Florida ports as well as one-week and longer cruises that explore more deeply. You can sail there in less than a day from Florida (cruises tend to embark in the early evening and hang out at sea until the next morning ashore), which makes it both an easy escape for a quick getaway or somewhere to linger for even more rest and relaxation.

What to expect on a Bahamas cruise

The main places cruise ships visit in the Bahamas are Nassau, the capital city, and some of the islands and beaches that are affiliated with cruise lines, such as Disney's private family wonderland Castaway Cay, off Great Abaco Island. There are small ships that explore further, including to the southern reaches of the archipelago.

Cruise passengers will find opportunities to hike in national parks, enjoy nearly deserted beaches, and explore many small churches-the Bahamas boasts more churches per capita than anywhere else in the world.

In the Bahamian capital of Nassau on New Providence Island, visitors can get a better understanding of the nation's British colonial and West African slave history as well as of the Junkanoo culture and festivals at wonderful museums. Most day visitors, though, are typically focused on water attractions: heading off on diving or snorkeling excursions, boarding party boats with free-flowing rum punch, experiencing the beaches, swimming pools, and waterslides at the Atlantis Bahamas resort on Paradise Island, or trying to catch the big one on fishing charters.

On small ship itineraries, you may stop at San Salvador Island, where Christopher Columbus may or may not have made his first landing in the New World. (Historians quibble on the exact landing spot.) A white cross memorializes the supposed landing spot. Long Island, which stretches some 80 miles, has both rugged and sandy coasts and the natural attraction of Dean's Blue Hole, one of the deepest sinkholes in the world at 663 feet, a place where divers and snorkelers can mingle with turtles and tarpons. The small island of Bimini is known for its clean beaches and rich marine life-hanging out at beach clubs, seeking quiet escapes in the land, and watching for dolphins and other sea creatures are prime activities.

Other cruise destinations include Eleuthera, with its inviting pink sands and protected park areas. In addition to beaches, the 365-island chain known as the Exumas are famous for swimming pigs (though they also live elsewhere in the Bahamas).

Celebrity Cruises sails to Nassau and Bimini in style, and if time or money is tight, you don't have to invest too much in your Bahamas getaway. That said, if you splurge on a suite in the Retreat, you'll have your own sundeck with hot tub, enjoy private lounge access, and dine at the exclusive restaurant Luminae, where signature dishes by Celebrity's culinary ambassador, Daniel Boulud, are featured on the rotating menu-such as creamy carrot and ginger velouté and Moroccan chicken tagine with saffron couscous. Spa lovers might want to book the AquaClass staterooms, with complimentary access to a Persian Garden with infrared sauna and sensory showers and exclusive dining at health focused Blu, where the wine list features sustainable and biodynamic wines. While in Bimini, you might try your hand at sport-fishing, a year-round pastime from the island.

Disney Cruise Line has ships in the Bahamas year-round, starting with quick three- and four-night sailings from Florida ports. Ever since it first opened 1998, the highlight of any Disney cruise in the Bahamas has been Castaway Cay, a picture-perfect white-sand island paradise, complete with pirate attractions and Disney character appearances. What has Disney fans all atwitter is the opening in summer 2024 of a second exclusive for Disney Bahamas destination, Lighthouse Point, on the island of Eleuthera. There, Disney promises a celebration of Bahamian culture, including Junkanoo parades, characters from Bahamas folklore, and performances by local artists. An accompanying commitment to conservation at Lighthouse Point includes a solar installation that will provide at least 90 percent of the destination's required electricity (Castaway Cay also has a solar installation). Family-friendly attractions abound but grown-ups can also drop the kids off in a supervised activity program and head to the adults-only beach to sip cocktails while lounging in private cabanas.

A seven-night itinerary in December 2023 gets you from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau, Bimini, San Salvador, and Long Island, Bahamas, with the bonus of some additional time built in to enjoy the Hemingway House & Museum and other attractions in Key West, Florida. Optional small group shore excursions in the Bahamas include an "Eco-Marine Safari" on Long Island, that combines small boat exploration of a mangrove channel and sandbars with a visit to see swimming pigs in a quiet cay. With both the cruise line and the Royal at Atlantis on Paradise Island affiliated with Marriott International , there's also a hotel tie-in-you can book a daybed at the resort's chic adults-only pool area, the Cove .

Or borrow paddleboards and kayaks from the ship's marina for your own solo exploration. Stops include Compass Cay in the Exuma Cays, where in the clear water you might see nurse sharks even from the ship. Bird lovers will enjoy a rare visit to the southernmost island in the Bahamas, Great Inagua Island, with its resident population of some 80,000 flamingos. Whiskey lovers will want to check out the ship's collection of more than 110 varieties.

The "Bountiful Bahamas" itinerary lingers in the Exumas and around Long Island, with the opportunity to explore pristine beaches, hang out at beach shack bars, and snorkel in the clear sea. There's also an unusual visit to the uninhabited Bahamas island Salt Cay (also known as Cay Sal), only accessible by boat and some 50 miles from Marathon, Florida. In between kayaking quiet bays, try the yacht's newest attraction, an inflatable slide running from the pool deck into the water. With hundreds of islands to visit, Bahamas cruises are filled with beautiful scenery, mesmerizing marine life, and relaxing beach escapes.

A look at the most expensive superyachts at the Palm Beach yacht show and their insane features, from basketball courts on deck to ice baths and saunas

  • The Palm Beach International Boat Show kicks off later this week.
  • Eight megayachts are expected to be on display for would-be buyers and charter customers.
  • These are the show's biggest yachts — and how many millions of dollars they are going for.

Insider Today

The Palm Beach International Boat Show — the yacht world's flashiest event stateside — is returning this year with over 800 boats for both deep-pocketed potential owners and window shoppers to peruse.

While it's impossible to know what exactly will be on display until the show begins on Thursday, it's expected that eight megayachts — generally defined as ships over 60 meters long — will be docked at the show and at nearby marinas like the Rybovich Marina in the ritzy Florida town.

Some of these are for sale at eye-popping prices, but others are available to charter in case you fancy living like a billionaire for a week or two this summer (and if you have six figures to spare on a vacation).

These are the eight biggest yachts that will be at the Palm Beach International Boat Show and nearby marinas, in size order.

Nero: 90.1 meters

Price: From $497,000 a week (charter) Standout features: Pizza ovens, beauty salon, massage room, resistance pool

Reportedly owned by Irish billionaire Denis O'Brien, Nero is modeled after J.P. Morgan's 1930s ship , and was built in 2007 and updated in 2021.

She now boasts a gym on her sundeck with multiple cardio machines and a beauty salon, and has an on-board beautician for manicure, pedicure, hair, and massage needs. There's also an upgraded movie theater, two new pizza ovens, and both a pool and a jacuzzi.

For those who want to go overboard, she has more than a dozen toys, including a waterslide, Jet Ski, and flyboard.

Victorious: 85 meters

Price: From $876,600 a week in the summer and $950,000 a week in the winter Standout features: Hammam (Turkish bath), wine cellar, wood-burning fireplace, children's playroom

Victorious brings a party vibe to the yacht show. With a beach club on board, a wine cellar, a cigar clubroom , multiple bars, and a lounge with a piano, the vessel is made for entertaining. Plus, there's a playroom and movie theater to entertain the kids.

For tamer charter clients, Victorious has a suite of wellness features such as a gym, massage room, beauty salon and hammam — perhaps a custom request of her owner, Turkish businessman Vural Ak.

She also boasts a treasure trove of water toys, including Jet Skis, jetsurfs, inflatable kayaks, and scuba equipment.

Casino Royale: 72 meters

Price: TBD Special Features: Infinity pool, helipad, private jacuzzi

Purchased and refitted by car dealer magnate John Staluppi last year, Casino Royale is the latest of his James Bond-inspired yachts (he's also owned an Octopussy and a Skyfall, among others).

Casino Royale has a helipad that turns into a dancefloor, an infinity pool, and a wellness center with a gym and sauna. The owner's cabin has its own deck, which features a private bar and jacuzzi.

However, the boat's price isn't listed, and while she's not necessarily officially for sale, that might change depending on who's prepared to buy, Mr. Bond.

Talisman C: 70.6 meters

Price: $60 million (or from $567,000 a week to charter) Special features: Massage and beauty room, private library

Likely the largest yacht for sale (not just charter) at the show, the Talisman C is a 2011 six-bedroom boat. The owner's cabin comes with an en suite bathroom, dressing room, private library, and crystal chandeliers.

Amenities include a gym, a beauty room, oversized jacuzzi, and a fully equipped bar. Her crew of 19 includes a trained masseuse, and the toy room comes equipped with a wakeboard, eFoil , and WaveRunners.

Joy: 70 meters

Price: From $650,000 a week Special features: Disco club, basketball court, onboard fitness instructor

Superyacht Joy testifies to the fact that owners want as many on-board experiences as they can get.

There's an expansive suite of fitness features, including a basketball court (don't shoot that hoop too hard!), a personal trainer on staff, boxing equipment, and a handful of machines. For post-workout winddowns, there's a spa with a steam room and onboard masseuse. And for entertainment, there's both an outdoor and indoor cinema, and a disco club.

Triumph: 65.4 meters

Price: From $707,600 a week in the summer and $650,000 a week in the winter Special features: Sauna, helipad, banana boat

This 2021 superyacht is named after Triumph motorcycles — a reported favorite of her rumored owner, British businessman Chris Dawson — and even has one on display as an art piece in the upper deck's lounge. The primary suite is 1,400 square feet and has its own study , and there's a sauna, an indoor-outdoor gym, a helipad, and a massage room spread among her six decks.

She boasts an "armada of water toys," including two kinds of Jet Skis, electric water bikes, and a banana boat.

Seanna: 64.5 meters

Price: $54,000,000 (or from $462,000 a week to charter) Special features: marble foyer, movie room, sundeck pool

The recently refurbished Seanna is available for sale and charter.

Her indoor-outdoor gym is on sea level so that passengers can take a dip after a session with the onboard personal trainer. There's also a sundeck pool, a helipad, a two-room massage facility, and, for the more cerebral guests, a library with an electric fireplace.

There are a number of toys on board, including a popular water trampoline and two WaveRunners.

Come Together: 60 meters

Price: $65,000,000 Special Features: DJ and videographer on board, ice bath, sauna

Next-to-new yacht Come Together is looking for a new owner after doing charters during the 2023 season.

The Beatles' influence is evident beyond the yacht's name, with guitars dotting the sky lounge and a crewmember who doubles as a DJ. There's also an outdoor cinema and bar for entertainment and an ice bath and sauna for the day after the party. The owner's suite has a private study and lounge, and each guest cabin has its own ensuite.

The sale includes a number of toys, like Jet Skis, kayaks, and Seabobs.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Romance Is Heating Up With a Vacation in the Bahamas

Taylor swift and travis kelce shared some sweet pda in the sun during a romantic trip to the bahamas..

Taylor Swift is in the heat of Travis Kelce 's electric touch.

After all, the "Karma" singer and Kansas City Chiefs player were seen enjoying a PDA-packed day at the beach during their recent vacation in the Bahamas.

In the pics from their outing, posted by the Daily Mail , Taylor, donning a yellow pinstriped bikini from Montce and a pair of shades, was soaking in the sun alongside Travis, who wore a pair of blue and white swim trunks.

During the outing, the couple, who were photographed tanning on the beach and lounging in the water, couldn't help but share some sweet kisses in the waves and on the sand. Afterward, the Grammy winner and tight-end boarded a boat to enjoy the tropical views.

But the sunny dates didn't end when they returned stateside as days after their romantic getaway, Taylor and Travis, both 34, had enjoyed the rays during a lunch at Nobu in Malibu, Calif., March 24.

Their sweet outings come as Taylor enjoys a break from her Eras Tour and Travis basks in the NFL off-season. In fact, the tight end traveled to Singapore to see the "Bejeweled" singer enchant the crowd while wrapping up the Asia-Pacific leg of her concert series. And a few weeks prior, Travis flew to Australia to enjoy her Sydney show—and a trip to the zoo .

But it's no surprise that Taylor and Travis are in their lavender haze, as they now have some free time since the Eras Tour will resume in May, and the NFL training camps begin in July.

With Taylor's global stardom, it's not uncommon for fans and critics to peer into their time together, but it hasn't rattled the football player.

"I'm not running away from any of it—the scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her," Travis explained to WSJ. Magazine in November, "every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she's just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange."

Keep reading to see more of Travis and Taylor's dazzling love story.

July 2023: So, Make the Friendship Bracelets

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce 's love story began in July 2023, when the singer's Eras Tour made a stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

As a huge Swiftie, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end caught the show with hopes of giving Taylor a friendship bracelet with his number on it . However, he failed to complete the pass due to her pre-show rituals.

"I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings," Travis shared on the July 26 episode of his  New Heights podcast. "So, I was a little butt-hurt I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her."

Summer 2023: This Is Him Trying

After publicly recounting his fumble—a move Taylor would later describe as "metal as hell" —Travis decided to shoot his shot and invite the Grammy winner to watch the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium.

"I threw it out there, I threw the ball in her court," he shared on The Pat McAfee Show . "I told her, you know, 'I've seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead, you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one's a little more lit.' So, we'll see what happens in the near future."

August 2023: Enchanted to Meet You

Travis was rocking a mustache—which he debuted in August during training camp—when he was first introduced to Taylor .

As he later noted of the era, "That 'stache and the 87 jersey was pretty iconic there for a little bit, and I had it when I met Taylor for the first time."

September 2023: Sparks Fly

By early September, a source close to the situation told E! News that Travis and Taylor were " texting and talking here and there ."

"It's been very low-key," the insider explained, "as he's been in season."

September 2023: Cheer Captain

Accepting Travis' invite, Taylor joined the athlete's mom Donna Kelce at Arrowhead Stadium to watch him and the Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears. After the game, Taylor and Travis were seen packing PDA at a local bar .

Though folklore had it that it was the couple's first in-person meeting, the "Karma" singer later clarified the two had spent a "significant amount of time" getting to know each other beforehand.

As Taylor noted, "We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date."

October 2023: Team Up

As an indication that the relationship was heating up, Taylor brought her squad —including friends Blake Lively , Ryan Reynolds , Sophie Turner , Hugh Jackman , Sabrina Carpenter and Antoni Porowski —to watch the Chiefs play against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

October 2023: It's Nice to Have a Friend

Another sign that Travis could be The 1 ? Taylor started bonding with Brittany Mahomes —the wife of Travis' BFF and teammate Patrick Mahomes —in and outside of NFL games .

October 2023: Welcome to New York

The couple took their romance to TV, making a surprise appearance on the Oct. 14 episode of Saturday Night Live . Their Big Apple takeover also included the after-party for the NBC sketch show and a date night at the Waverly Inn .

November 2023: Karma Is Her Boyfriend

During a bye week, Travis traveled down to Argentina to catch the South American leg of Taylor's Eras Tour. Not only did the NFL star bond with Taylor's dad , Scott Swift , at the Nov. 11 show in Buenos Aires, but he also got a special shoutout from the stage.

" Karma is that guy on the Chiefs ," Taylor sang, "coming straight home to me."

After the show, the Midnights  artist was seen running up to Travis backstage and greeting him with a passionate kiss .

December 2024: Speak Now

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis' games.

"I'm going to see him do what he loves, we're showing up for each other, other people are there and we don't care," she told Time . "The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you're seeing someone."

December 2023: You, Who Charmed Her Dad

The music superstar turned Travis' Dec. 17 game into a family affair, bringing her dad to cheer on her man .

January 2024: All the Midnights

Taylor and Travis spent their first New Year's Eve together, sharing a romantic kiss when the clock struck midnight on Jan. 1.

January 2024: Chosen Family

Continuing to bond with Travis' family, Taylor hung out with his brother Jason Kelce and sister-in-law Kylie Kelce at the Chiefs' game against the Buffalo Bills.

January 2024: Saved by the Perfect Kiss

Taylor joined Travis on the football field when the Chiefs won the AFC Championship , a victory that cemented the team's spot in the 2024 Super Bowl . The couple shared a celebratory kiss before exchanging the L-word .

"Tay, I'm gonna enjoy with the guys," he told her. "I love you—so much it's not funny."

February 2024: Super Bowl Champs

The pair locked lips on the field after Travis led the Kansas City Chiefs to victory on Feb. 11, 2024 in Las Vegas.

February 2024: TikTok Official

Taylor posted footage of Travis on social media for the first time Feb. 12, poking fun at how she took her parents clubbing with the athlete after the Super Bowl.

Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly gifted himself a $300 million megayacht, dubbed “Launchpad,” ahead of his 40th birthday.

The staggering 387-foot-long vessel was seen floating at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., after arriving at its berth earlier this week, The Sun reported Thursday.

Mark Zuckerberg.

The multi-layered luxury ship’s sleek exterior was designed by Espen Øino International and boasts a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, according to SuperYacht Times.

Reportedly ranking as the 45th largest yacht in the world, the interiors are just as aesthetically pleasing and reportedly executed by Zuretti Interior Design company, a France-based company specializing in unique and custom yacht design.

The breathtakingly beautiful floater stands out with a navy blue theme matching an American flag perched proudly on its wood-paneled stern.

Boatworld insiders have been buzzing with speculation that Zuckerberg is the owner of the newly minted mega-cruise ever since it made its main voyage from the Netherlands last week.

The tech titan was spotted touring the Russian-commissioned megayacht in early March, though the impressive boat didn’t arrive stateside until this week due to sanctions, according to The Sun.

The website reported that Zuckerberg purchased the pricey yacht – along with its own $30 million partner boat — most likely as an early 40th birthday present to himself.

The boat reportedly traveled to Florida after being granted special permission to be imported just weeks ahead of Zuckerberg’s birthday on May 14.

Zuckerberg’s yacht is just 30 feet shorter than the length of fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos’ 417-foot megayacht Koru, which the Amazon boss snagged for a whopping $500 million.

Zuckerberg’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Sam Bankman-Fried followed by police officers outside the Manhattan federal court in New York City

Sam Bankman-Fried to be sentenced for multibillion-dollar fraud this week

Former FTX CEO faces up to 100 years in prison should the judge hand out the harshest penalty

Sam Bankman-Fried, once the CEO of FTX and a billionaire wunderkind of the cryptocurrency world, will be sentenced to prison time on Thursday in New York City.

Should the judge in his case impose the harshest penalty allowed, the 32-year-old would face more than 100 years and die an incarcerated man, a possibility his lawyer has called “ grotesque .”

In advance of the hearing, lawyers for the US Department of Justice and for Bankman-Fried have engaged in bitter back-and-forth over how long of a prison sentence would be appropriate. His lawyers have argued for a minimal sentence of just six years. Prosecutors are advocating for 40-50 years for his “unmatched greed and hubris” in perpetrating the $8bn (£6.3bn) fraud.

“Even now Bankman-Fried refuses to admit what he did was wrong,” Manhattan prosecutors wrote.

FTX imploded in November 2022 after Bankman-Fried and those in his inner circle comingled funds from the exchange with a closely-associated hedge fund, Alameda Research. The result was Bankman-Fried and others using their customers’ money for their own personal ends. The mixture created an $8bn budget shortfall that, when enough customers asked to withdraw their cryptocurrency, brought the exchange down.

Bankman-Fried maintained his innocence throughout a month-long trial last year. Prosecutors said that the CEO “misappropriated and embezzled” billions of dollars in his management of FTX. He was convicted in November on seven counts of wire fraud and conspiracy to launder money .

Bankman-Fried continues to contend that any mistakes he made have solutions within easy reach, writing in a February bankruptcy filing that FTX’s “harm to customers, lenders and investors is zero” because “the money was there – not lost”.

The CEO appointed to oversee FTX’s complex bankruptcy, John Ray, has lambasted Bankman-Fried’s conduct during the trial and its aftermath. He called Bankman-Fried’s recent statements “demonstrably false”.

“Mr Bankman-Fried continues to live a life of delusion. The ‘business’ he left on 11 November 2022 was neither solvent nor safe,” Ray wrote in a 20 March court filing . Ray said Bankman-Fried lavished company funds on “luxury homes, private jets, and overpriced speculative ventures”.

“Customers will never be in the same position they would have had they not crossed paths with Mr Bankman-Fried and his so-called brand of ‘altruism’,” Ray wrote.

Bankman-Fried’s inner circle lived with him in a $35m, 12,000 sq ft penthouse overlooking a yacht marina in the Bahamas while they ran the company together.

In a stark reversal of fortune, though, several members of FTX’s top brass testified against him during his trial. Caroline Ellison, his on-again, off-again girlfriend of several years and the CEO of Alameda Research, served as the prosecution’s star witness. She confessed to committing fraud and said on the stand that she had done so repeatedly at Bankman-Fried’s direction. She made a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to seven counts of wire fraud, securities fraud, and money laundering .

The former mogul himself took the stand near the end of his trial in a last-ditch gamble to persuade the jury. He defended his role in the collapse of FTX by saying he had been overwhelmed by overnight success and blamed the company’s failure on Ellison. Under a prosecutor’s glaring questioning, though, he repeated the phrase “I do not recall” more than 100 times, denying he remembered statements he made while being recorded.

“Did you defraud anyone?” his defense attorney, Mark Cohen, asked.

“No, I did not,” said Bankman-Fried.

“Did you take customer funds?” asked Cohen.

“No,” said Bankman-Fried.
