Fantastic food from the new management and a great welcoming atmosphere . Congratulations on getting the club back up to speed .
Stayed at the marina for long weekend. People were amazingly friendly, everyone spoke. Large very modern communal shower room, which is divided up into individual wet rooms. Each cubicle consisting of shower, toilet, sink with large mirror. Also hair dryers provided in the communal area along with a seating area consisting of leather arm chairs. Next door is a laundry room but cannot comment of quality as didn't use.Entry n exit to the marina/shower rooms is done via a key fob. Wi-Fi is available, though not good. But ok if you wanna get away from all that! There are two beaches nearby. One a couple of minutes walk, the other about 10mins. Both are pebble beaches. But I found the nearer one quieter n more appealing. The is a cycle/walking track that follows the coast. Very pleasant as no vehicles. There are plenty of popular restaurants to choose from on the queyside. All giving a lovely sunset view. There is a square which has an array of little quaint shops to explore. Prices not bad either.
Harbour is absolutely lovely for a walk, and the Weatherspoons lovely for a pint overlooking all the boats. Central area very industrial, but not very surprisingly so
Nice place to have a walk around, disappointing shops, not a lot of choice, always feels like the shops are struggling or closing down. Seems as if they are missing a trick because the retail area has potential but it has never got off the ground.
Hideous. Can I stop there? Brighton Marina is not somewhere I would ever choose to go back to. On approach it feels like you are walking into an airport carpark. Concrete everywhere. Concrete covered in graffiti. Even the 'thrill' of Asda didn't win me over, nor did the cinema and the typical chain restaurants which overlooked where the boats had docked. The feeling I got from this place was one of a very, very depressing nature. As we walked through yet another grimy tunnel that stank of urine I just yearned to be back in Brighton in the beautiful Laines. This place is about as far removed in terms of the charm of central Brighton as you could hope to get. On the ground level, there were enough 'office space vacant' signs to suggest that this place is on the way out. I actually left the Marina feeling ever so slightly sick, it just conjured within me such unpleasant feelings and emotions that I was shuddering inside. If you are a boat enthusiast then you may well enjoy the docked boats. Everything else was quite simply ghastly.
We went to the Marina to initially look for a handbag for a Wedding. We ended up buying two bags and a suitcase. I love the shops. There's a real buzz about the place. We had a lovely light lunch in The Katarina. We then met a lovely man called Sergei. He was a Russian who had been here for 15 years but this was his country. He even had his England shirt in. People pass through our lives and some make an impression. Lovely few hours spent browsing the shops.

Situated on the South coast of England, on the Eastern edge of the vibrant city of Brighton, the Marina is home to Brighton Marina Yacht Club ( BMYC ). Established in 1978 and with a thriving membership, the club welcomes sailors, motor cruisers among other seafarers and all those who appreciate the sea, even if it’s just looking at it from our bar or deck.
The club organises yacht races throughout the year. We race every Sunday, and Wednesday evenings in the Summer. We also organise regular sail cruising programmes and other lively social events.
We welcome all visiting boat people to our friendly club where you can have a meal and a drink in our comfortable and relaxed bar by the waterside.
Our club is a great location to relax after a day of sailing or just to while away a few hours in great company!
Enjoy alfresco lunches, dinners or just drinks on our large West-facing deck. It is also perfectly orientated for sundowners at the end of the day!
What better way to spend time than on our sunny deck watching the world sail by…?
Our menu combines fresh, local seasonal produce and seafood served as small plates, mains and classic dishes as well as platters that are perfect for sharing. All our dishes are always served with a side order of stunning marina views – on the house!
Since our inception in 1978, BMYC has built a reputation for competitive year-round yachting. We aim to offer racing on every weekend of the year; with ‘Around-the-Cans’ racing using our own fixed marks off Brighton Marina, and coastal races and passages across the English Channel.’
Throughout the Summer we offer opportunities to race on Wednesday evenings and throughout the year our members take part in events around Britain and the rest of the world.
If you come cruising with Brighton Marina Yacht Club you will find a warm welcome from like-minded people who enjoy cruising in company!
Our focus is on enjoyment, exploring the South coast and building sailing experience.
Whether you own a yacht or a motor cruiser and wish to join us on the water or you want to crew and get more experience then we have something to offer you.
We are running an exciting rally program for ’23, with day sailing trips, weekend rallies, a cross channel rally and a week-long rally in the Solent!!

Brighton’s new floating yacht club moves to permanent moorings
- Laura Hodgetts
- August 5, 2015
One of the largest floating buildings in the UK (3500 ft2.) has been moved to its permanent moorings at the city’s marina.

The new home for Brighton Marina Yacht Club (BMYC) was towed into its mooring position following an eight-hour journey from one side of the marina to the other on 30 July.
It is now being fitted out ready to open for members and guests in September, when BMYC is also running a new series of its Club Class introduction to yacht racing sessions.
BMYC had to leave its current premises as redevelopment of the marina accelerates.
Its new home is the result of collaboration between Brunswick Developments (who, as part of the new 850 apartment, Outer Harbour Marina Development, funded the construction and provided the building for the yacht club), Intermarine (who have engineered and built the new clubhouse and its innovative floating platform) and Premier Marinas (who have provided its permanent mooring adjacent the Marina boardwalk).

BMYC Commodore Phil Thomas said: ‘Hot on the heels of the opening Americas Cup weekend, interest in sailing is on a high and we’re her to help anyone who wants to get on the water to do so affordably.
‘Brunswick Developments commitment to bringing this fabulous building to life is commendable, and Intermarine has pulled out all the stops to make it happen technically.’

Peter Green, who is directing the current works at the marina for Brunswick Developments said: ‘The new yacht club shows how large developments such as ours can have community benefits.
‘We went above and beyond our legal obligation to provide space for a new yacht club, and provided a purpose-built unit located in the very heart of the marina. We are also providing a new RNLI station, providing new buildings at the very heart of regeneration enhancing the architecture of the marina and creating new opportunities for both the Club and the Marina itself’.
The wave design of the building was conceived by club member and local architect Stewart Henton. Aided by international interior designer Cary Terlezki, the club is now putting the finishing touches to the facility and it will be ready to welcome new and old members next month.
