The marina is ideally situated in a weather protected area adjacent to Hammonasset Beach State park, the largest shoreline park in Connecticut, and is a 20 minute scenic journey through the channel to Long Island Sound. It offers unequal protection from hurricanes and major storms (no material damage during Bob, Irene or Sandy) and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful natural habitats in the area.

Clinton Harbor is a convenient location for day trips to the nearby Thimble Islands, the Connecticut River (Essex, Hamburg Cove), Thames River (Mohegan Sun Casino, New London), Mystic Seaport, Fishers Island, Orient Point, Port Jefferson, and many other nearby boating destinations. It is also an excellent departure port for short trips to Block Island, Newport, Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and the ports of Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

March 12 at 01:00 p.m. saw the official opening ceremony of the largest exhibition of boats as well as yachts, the  Moscow Boat Show , taking place in the lobby of the third pavilion Crocus Expo IEC.

Official Opening Ceremony of Moscow Boat Show 2013

Moscow Boat Show is rightfully called the main event in the Russian world of boats and yachts. The largest in Russia event has for the sixth time already incorporated the most impressive representatives of the yachting world and fans of this spectacular sport!

Last year the exhibition was granted the status of “UFI Approved Event” and it was listed in the calendar of International Boat Industry (IBI), which includes all exhibition events of international level in the yachting industry.

Moscow Boat Show provides the perfect platform from which to preview new products, evaluate market trends, and establish long-lasting and commercially profitable partnerships. Despite the dynamic changes taking place in Russia and the rapid growth of the yachting sector, the show continues to complement and reflect the industry’s demand and is a promotional opportunity not to be missed!

The exposition space has increased up to 45 000 sq m in 2013. More than 350 companies from Great Britain , Germany , Holland , Greece , Spain , Italy , Cyprus , China , Latvia , New Zealand , United Arab Emirates , Poland , Slovenia , USA , Sierra Leone, Turkey , Ukraine , Finland , France , Croatia , Montenegro and, of course, Russia (17 regions) participated in the show. The scale of the project confirms confident positions of its positive development.

Arcady Zlotnikov, Deputy Director General ZAO CROCUS INTERNATIONAL, was traditionally the first to take the floor at the official opening ceremony. He greeted warmly exhibitors, guests and visitors of Moscow Boat Show 2013 and presented high ranking guests of the ceremony.

Nikolay Krjuchek, Deputy Chief of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels (SISV) of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Russia, congratulated everybody with the opening of the show, noted it high status, significance and perfect prospects of development.

Vladimir Silkin, President of the Russian Yachting Federation (VFPS), joined the previous speaker and added that the show had become the major event in the Russian world of boats and yachts.

Ekaterina Grishechkina, Director of exhibition Moscow Boat Show, spoke about organizer’s work and expressed her gratitude to all participants of the show.

All speakers noted dynamic development of the branch which leads to the intensive growth of the exhibition.

Having wished to exhibitors and visitors productive work and conclusion of new contracts, guests of honor of the Moscow Boat Show 2013 cut red ribbon and invited everybody to the exposition.

Clinton Now Likely to Mark V-E Anniversary in Moscow

After a new gesture by President Boris N. Yeltsin, Administration officials said today that President Clinton was likely to go to Moscow on May 9 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Allied victory in Europe.

Mr. Clinton said today that no final decision had been made. But he told reporters that he appreciated the gesture from Mr. Yeltsin, who said on Thursday that he would eliminate a show of military force from the main ceremony to satisfy White House concerns.

That step and other assurances from Moscow have gone a long way toward overcoming more than two months of apprehension in Washington that Mr. Clinton's presence might send the wrong signal, Administration officials said.

Only last month, Administration officials said Mr. Clinton did not intend to make the journey.

Today senior White House officials spoke with weariness about a snarl of policy and logistical considerations that had made the decision one of the most complicated of the President's tenure, and had injected considerable delicacy into the timing of any announcement.

"Just allow us to have a little diplomacy with this," Michael D. McCurry, the White House spokesman, asked today.

A memorandum making the cases for and against the trip has reached the President's desk, one adviser said. Mr. Clinton said he hoped to make up his mind "very shortly."

Administration officials opposed to the mission have argued that it comes at too delicate a time in the relationship between Washington and Moscow. With Russian troops still fighting in Chechnya and Moscow insistent on completing nuclear reactors for Iran, they have said, Mr. Clinton should wait until June, when he would not have to attend a Red Square parade.

But others have argued that after Russia's exclusion from last year's commemoration of the Allied invasion of Europe, it would be a mistake for Mr. Clinton to deliver another slight by rejecting Mr. Yeltsin's invitation to mark the victory over Nazi Germany. Twenty million Russians died in the Second World War.

This argument has grown stronger since Russian officials who are highly regarded by Washington have told American officials that ordinary Russians would be deeply offended if Mr. Clinton stayed away.

What is now most likely, Administration officials said today, is that Mr. Clinton will celebrate the 50th anniversary of V-E Day on May 8 at Arlington National Cemetery here. Then he will probably fly to Moscow in time for the Red Square parade, the centerpiece of ceremonies there on May 9, the Russians' Victory Day.

To minimize offense to the Allies, they said, Vice President Al Gore will be dispatched to London, Paris and perhaps Berlin for ceremonies on May 8. And while in Moscow, Mr. Clinton would take visible steps to reach out to democratic opposition forces so as not to be seen showering his attention on Mr. Yeltsin and the Russian military alone.

The officials said there remained some differences about whether Mr. Clinton should accept Mr. Yeltsin's invitation alone. But as the importance of the visit to Mr. Yeltsin has become evident, they said, the recommendation of most advisers is that the Russian leader is more likely to make concessions if he feels honored than if he is spurned.

They said the strategy was related to the one that the Administration has employed in the past month.

As Mr. Clinton refused to rule out the prospect of a May visit, his deputies made progress in persuading Moscow to allow rights monitors into Chechnya and to take steps toward ending a feud about the expansion of NATO. A further sign of progress was Mr. Yeltsin's agreement to tailor the Red Square parade to specific American requests.

The Administration still hopes Moscow will curtail an agreement to build nuclear reactors for Iran, but aides to Mr. Clinton said now might be the time to make clear that Moscow can count on a visit in May.

"The key question is, have we milked this for all it's worth," one senior official said.

Our Favorite Moscow Hotel

My wife and I have stayed here about 6 times now, and it never disappoints. It's extremely convenient to the Sheremetyevo airport, although I'm not sure if the hotel's shuttle goes to SVO or not. It would be a cheap Uber ride, though. The hotel itself is extremely modern and beautiful. You're always greeted by very professional staff at the front desk who are perfectly fluent in English and they, of course, will give you the Doubletree cookie upon arrival. The hotel's parking garage is underground and it's extremely secure and easy to use. Once you check in and arrive at your room you'll find the rooms to be very modern. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel's spa is fantastic. We haven't gotten massages, but the pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and showers are really, really great. Our experience with the breakfast has been very positive. They have a great selection of assorted meats and cheeses, along with an omelette chef and another assortment of hot foods - eggs, sausages, tomatoes, porridge, potatoes, etc. They have great breads and an assortment of juices, yogurts, and spreads. You won't be disappointed with the breakfast or with the service of the attentive staff. The only thing we noticed this time is that the honeycomb was not there, replaced by a jar of honey. Not a huge deal, but that honeycomb was always impressive. The wifi in this hotel is easy... My wife and I have stayed here about 6 times now, and it never disappoints. We stay here every time we come to Moscow. I did have one complaint this time. Our room was on the 4th floor all the way at the end, very far from the elevators. I wanted to go upstairs one level to the Executive Lounge, so I just entered the stairwell to go up one flight. Big mistake! The stairwell doors are ALL locked on the inside of the stairwell, so the only way to get through those doors is from the corridors. There was an emergency exit at the ground floor to the cold outdoors, but I didn't want to set off alarms. Luckily, I found a maid who reluctantly let me in. There are NO signs or other indications that one shouldn't enter the stairwells. It's obvious that this has happened to others, because the door handles on the inside of the stairwell have been pulled nearly loose on a couple of floors by people trying to get back into the corridor. I let the staff know about this and they said they'd let their engineer know about the problem. The issue wasn't corrected on our 2nd stay 4 days later, so they obviously didn't think it was important. More

I stayed only for overnight sleep, came late and went early to the airport. Highly efficient and trained staff, so check-in and out very quickly and friendly. I have got even some cookies (real, not from internet). Good restaurant, I mean food and ambience, prices are standard Moscow expensive. When no need to have meetings near Red Square, then good place to stay.

This hotel is one of the best in Moscow. The staff is not at all Russian, it feels like in central Europa. The food is nice and of good quality, but as boring as in every other hotel in Moscow. It could be much more creative if not copied from all these other menue card. That's the only negative point. Ask Maxim, the concierge for help, he does a great job.

Stayed for 5 nights on a business trip. Location of hotel is convenient for Airport and the business centers I was visiting. Great team at the hotel made me feel very welcome and ensured I had the right room for my needs. I had access to the executive lounge which was a nice bonus. Good internet which is important for me when traveling. Breakfast and the restaurant offered good quality food.
