Lewis Hamilton’s 4 million dollar Yacht : Know all about ultra luxurious possession of the Mercedes driver

lewis hamilton superyacht

F1 driver Lewis Hamilton's Sunseeker 90 yacht

Lewis Hamilton has been racing for a long time. With his experience comes the success that he has achieved in the past few years. Having been at the top of the standings for multiple years, it’s no doubt that his F1 team will be willing to pay big money just to keep him in the team and compete for more championships. Driver salaries are based on success rate and experience in the sport.

In Sir Lewis Hamilton’s case, it is pretty obvious that there is a massive sum of money attached to the Mercedes driver’s contract . He reportedly earns about 40-50 million dollars every year. With this king of money at his disposal, the British driver clearly didn’t hold back on ultra luxurious purchases. An example of that is the Sunseeker 90 Yacht that is owned by the 7 time world champion.

Lewis Hamilton is a driver with a massive sense of fashion. The driver has even hired a person to style him for his day to day fits. The moment you see Lewis in the paddock during race weekends, you will see why he gets all the attention. His outfits are a clear indication of the life that he likes to live. In Lewis’s case, he yearns for ultra luxurious products.

Lewis Hamilton’s yacht costed a whopping 4 million dollars

Inside Lewis Hamilton's Sunseeker 90 yacht

The British driver owns a yacht called the Sunseeker 90 which is worth about 4 million dollars or 3.1 million euros. The latest model of this yacht goes for around 6 million dollars but can also reach 9 million of fully upgraded. Along with some cozy interior designing, the yacht itself is 27.10 meters long. It has a total of 4 cabins that can house 8 guests in total.

Apart from that, there is also room to sleep for the crew members present on the yacht. The sea vehicle can reach speeds of up to 30 knots while maintaining a cruising speed of 22 knots. The yacht is blessed with a luxury interior equipped with ‘American walnut carpentry’. It includes features such as air conditioning, a chef’s sized kitchen and a huge entertainment system.

The yacht also houses an area fit for barbecues and has features that make water sports accessible for the guests. With the plethora of features that the yacht has to offer, it’s an ideal choice for anyone seeking a luxurious experience. The Sunseeker 90 is kept in Monaco, a destination that is known for its racing prestige.

Lewis Hamilton has had an incredible season provided the machinery that he had to deal with. With the 2023 season incoming, it will be interesting to see how Mercedes and Lewis fight back to grab the 8th title. It won’t be an easy fight since Red Bull and Ferrari will probably be just as competitive. However, anything can happen in this sport.

Lewis Hamilton and Friends With Combined Net Worth of $451 Million Booked A Superyacht Worth $285 Million For An Adventurous Trip

Lewis Hamilton travelled all the way to the South pole to celebrate his 38th birthday with his friends and make the most out of his winter break.

In doing so, the Briton with a net worth of $285 Million booked a $285 Million worth Superyacht with his $166 Million worth friends to enjoy a trip to Antarctica.

The Mercedes star was joined by 3-time Olympic gold-medallist Shaun White($65 Million net worth). Along with actress Nina Dobrev(White’s wife; net worth – $11 Million) and Jared Leto(an actor; net worth – $90 Million).

Rumours say that Kanye West’s ex-girlfriend Juliana Nalu was also on the trip and is currently dating the 7-time world champion. During his trip, Hamilton posted a video of himself going on a 7-mile run surrounded by Penguins and seals.

Lewis Hamilton and his friends paid $2.2 Million to charter the yacht

The Superyacht was originally designed for Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen who was looking for a vessel that could take him to most remote regions of the world.

Allen wanted a yacht that was not short on luxury but had a very reduced impact on the environment. Lurssen, a shipbuilding company manufactured the yacht and named it ‘Octopus.’

As per the latest reports, one week of the charter for the Octopus costs around $2.2 Million, excluding the fuel expenses and other supplies.

A Superyacht vlogger eSysman revealed that it was the Octopus that the Silver Arrows ace along with his friends had boarded for their trip.

Toto Wolff waiting for Hamilton’s winter travels to end to discuss a new deal

With Hamilton’s current contract coming to an end in the 2023 season, there have been a lot of talks about his next deal with the team.

Hamilton had previously stated his willingness to stay with the team for five more years but no papers have been inked so far.

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has been cautious about releasing a deadline but providing a further update on the situation, Wolff has now said that both parties have a full year to go.

And it is just a matter of the Briton returning to Europe from his winter trips so that they can have a chat and finalise.

Lewis Hamilton Sets The Pace As Charter Yachts Arrive In Monaco

By Oliver Pearson   26 May 2016

As the estimable British driver headed the timesheet for the practice laps around the iconic track, the surrounding waters of Monaco came alive with charter yachts migrating from the hotspots of Cannes .

Leaving behind the Old Port of Cannes for berths at the famous Port Hercule, charterers were today treated to a breathtaking performance from one of F1’s most interesting characters.

As we pointed out in an earlier story, the T-Dock is beginning to fill up as the superyachts migrate from the historic ports of Cannes .

With the sun breaking through the clouds around the French Riviera , visitors to the practice session this afternoon returned to sunbathing and sipping cocktails whilst watching the action unfold in front of them.

Unquestionably one of the best opportunities for an event charter, the Monaco Grand Prix has long been associated with yachting in the Mediterranean .

As the drivers prepare for the pivotal race this Sunday, we take a look at some of the charter yachts attending this year’s edition.

Superyacht Romea with her tenders and toys

Perfectly suited for event charters, the 82m/268ft motor yacht ROMEA from Abeking & Rasmussen features an abundance of exterior space for enjoying the race.

Indeed, with a bridge deck large enough to host a home cinema, the area is just as impressive during the day, with an attachable bimini for shading when necessary.

A finalist for an interior award at the Showboats Design Awards this year, both the private and social spaces onboard are replete with contemporary flourishes and comfortable seating arrangements.

What’s more, M/Y ROMEA always includes a dedicated office space for anyone needing to attending to business whilst on charter.

Arguably the most classic of event charters, the Monaco Grand Prix combines the world’s most exciting sport with the unique charms of the Mediterranean

Superyacht VICKY

Another large yacht attending the Monaco Grand Prix 2016 is the 73m/238ft motor yacht VICKY .

Delivered from the Turkish shipyard Proteksan Turquoise, VICKY packs plenty of wow factor and provides charterers with numerous outdoor spaces in which to enjoy their environment.

Winning first place for ‘Recreational Area for Guest Use’ at the Showboats Design Awards 2013, and ‘Quality and Value’ at the World Superyacht Awards 2013, M/Y VICKY all but invites prospective charterers to take her to Monaco.

For parties keen to keep things going through the night, there’s also a professional DJ booth and dance floor- two features sure to be popular as she sits at anchor a short distance from Port Hercule.

An aerial view of superyacht OKTO

Boasting a truly distinctive profile which ultimately earned her the award for ‘Best Exterior Design’ at the World Trophies 2014, the 66m/217ft motor yacht OKTO will no doubt be turning more than a few heads as she joins the proceedings this week.

Renowned for her silent cruising, M/Y OKTO is also regarded as an effortlessly cool charter yacht with a large swimming pool on the aft deck complemented by an engaging Alberto Pinto interior.

Whilst the abundance of outdoor deck space is sure to offer more than enough room for partying, the retractable balcony attached to the master suite provides a nice spot for guests to get away from it all at a moment’s notice.

F1: The ultra luxe life of Lewis Hamilton, 7-time world champion and maximalist at large

By Parth Charan

F1 The ultra luxe life of Lewis Hamilton | GQ India

He may have sold his private jet, turned vegan and switched to driving electric cars off-track, but Lewis Hamilton isn’t exactly a minimalist. As the highest paid F1 driver, Hamilton was reportedly paid a cool $30 million (Rs 225 crore) in 2021 alone, which combined with his endorsement deals and investments nets him career earnings exceeding $500 million (Rs 3,705 crore).

As one of the world’s richest and most successful athletes, it stands to reason that there are several high-value possessions in Hamilton’s name. So, what does “the Hammer” spend his half a billion dollars on? Plenty, as it turns out.

What Lewis Hamilton spends his big bucks on:

Hamilton owns some pretty valuable slices of real estate across the world. While the recently knighted British racer, much like several F1 drivers, resides in the tax-free confines of Monte Carlo (where he owns a sea-facing bachelor pad), he also owns a Manhattan Penthouse worth $44 million (Rs 326 crore) and a six-bedroom London villa. According to The Sun, Hamilton purchased the West London villa from Burberry chief designer Christopher Bailey. The property is said to have a 200ft garden area with its own independent summer house. As for his Manhattan penthouse – a condo project part-owned by NFL legend Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen – it has everything from a state-of-the-art gym, pool, squash court, library and wine cellar.

He also owns an apartment in Geneva, Switzerland (his second home) where he goes to escape the limelight, and so the details of his Geneva home aren’t well known.

Image may contain Transportation Vehicle Boat and Yacht

The Challenger 605 jet may be gone, but Hamilton can still be found spending his downtime on his private Sunseeker yacht. A 90-foot-long $4 million (Rs30 crore) luxury performance yacht comes with a built-in sundecks, BBQ, modular lounge seating and a dining area for eight (among other things). When not being used for parties, it can usually be found parked by the bayside in Monaco or Nice.

Hamilton has joined the league of successful F1 racers turned team owners. However, Hamilton sees the future of racing to be in more sustainable forms of motorsport (even F1 aims to go carbon neutral by 2030) and so, has put his millions in the Extreme E electric off-road racing series. Called the X44 racing team, it’s due to make its racing debut soon, with venues set in remote locations that have been strongly affected by the climate crisis.

Hamilton has one of the most extensive (super)car collections of any modern-day F1 racer. Apart from his daily driver, there’s nothing in here that isn’t superlatively quick.

The 6 monster vehicles in Lewis Hamilton's garage:

Instagram content.

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

Given that McLaren gave Hamilton his first big break in the world of racing, it’s fitting that his garage houses one of the fastest models in the world. Hamilton purchased this hybrid hypercar back in 2015. The P1 costs approximately Rs 17 crore (excluding taxes) and is powered by the combination of a 3.8-litre, 727hp V8and a 177hp electric motor. Only 375 examples were ever made, all of which were sold out. Hamilton’s blue P1 was driven straight to his Monaco home by McLaren’s employees.

Although Hamilton’s daily driver is an all-electric Mercedes EQC, there lies in his garage, an F1-inspired road car, which was developed with the help of Sir Lewis himself. Much like Lewis’s “work” car, the One has a V6 turbo along with four electric motors. Collectively it puts out 1200 horsepower and hits 100kph in an eyeball eviscerating 2.2 seconds. Only 275 of these hyper-exotic models will ever be built. Given it’s similarities with his F1 car, this is something that is likely to stay in his garage, long after he has retired. It’s price? A measly $2.72 million (Rs 20 crore, excluding taxes).

Here’s what the Ambani family gifted their guests at Anant and Radhika’s pre-wedding celebration

By Saloni Dhruv

12 types of food items that are allowed and prohibited to carry in your cabin bag on a domestic flight

Completing the hybrid hypercar holy trinity is Hamilton’s candy-apple red LaFerrari. Ferrari could very well be on Hamilton’s horizon in the not too distant future, and his love for this landmark piece of Maranello engineering, (which costs Rs 11 crore, minus taxes). Another F1-inspired piece of tech, the LaFerrari features a kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) system which helps it put out nearly 1000 bhp. Fitting for an F1 racer’s garage.

The late Carroll Shelby’s pièce de résistance, the Cobra is an Anglo-American motoring gem, which, if in good nick, can set you back by $7 million (Rs 51 crore). Hamilton’s Cobra 427 was vetted by Shelby himself, making it something of a collector’s item, since a non-replica version is almost impossible to find these days. Which is why Hamilton bought two of them. One for posterity and one to cruise around on sunny mornings.

Another Carroll Shelby masterpiece, the Shelby GT500 has been immortalised in both film and on the racetrack. Although not driven often by Hamilton, whose F1 reflexes don’t mix well with lumpy muscle car handling, the ‘Stang does hold a special place in Hamilton’s garage, for its old-school 7.0-litre, V8, the likes of which will be extinct very soon. In an interview with British GQ, Hamilton said that he “bought the car because he’d seen Steve McQueen drive one in the movie Bullitt . In fairness, McQueen drove a ‘68 Mustang GT Fastback, but we can see many other reasons why the G.O.A.T would be compelled to buy the one with the magical Shelby touch. A good one today will cost approximately $1.2 million (Rs 8.9 crore)

Unbeknownst to most, Hamilton is an avid biker. Which is why MV Agusta, purveyors of Italian exotica, built him a bespoke version of their iconic F4 superbike. The inline-4, litre-bike, penned by the divine hand of Massimo Tamburini, is often considered the most beautiful modern-day motorcycle. Hamilton’s bike was given the LH44 label (combining his initials with his official racing number) MV produced a limited run of the LH44 bikes, priced at Rs 54 lakh (minus taxes). Hamilton, we reckon, got it for free.

Revealed: Lewis Hamilton’s luxury lifestyle - houses, cars, yachts…

lewis hamilton superyacht

Hamilton is best-known for living in Monte Carlo, Monaco, and once shared a photo of his stunning view with the caption: "A place I call home, Monte Carlo. I am so blessed to live in such an incredible place.”

The exclusive Fontvieille area, where it is believed he lives, is famous for lavish properties. In 2007 Hamilton was linked with a £10m home.

His neighbours in Monaco include Max Verstappen, David Coulthard, Daniel Ricciardo, Valtteri Bottas and more…

Hamilton spent $40m on a four-bed penthouse in Tribeca, a fashionable part of Manhattan, New York, in 2019, complete with a perfect view of the Hudson River - but he never really lived in the property, and has since sold it on at a profit.

He spent £18m on a mansion in west London in 2017. But neighbours were angry because Hamilton, who had barely set foot in the property, planned to chop down trees and carry out extensive renovation work, the Daily Mail reported!

Hamilton also has a place in Los Angeles, and another in Colorado, a location he enjoys during the F1 offseason.

“I am not in a relationship, I don’t have kids, my car is my baby,” Hamilton told The Independent.

His car collection is worth £13m and has included:

  • A purple Pagani Zonda worth £1.6m, custom-built for Hamilton
  • An ultra-rare 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra, worth £4m, is his prized asset
  • Always interesting to see Hamilton in a red Ferrari LaFerrari, worth £1m
  • There are only 275 Mercedes-AMG Project One cars made, worth £2m each, and obviously Hamilton owns one!
  • The £230k-worth Mercedes-AMG SLS Black is his day-to-day runaround…
  • A McLaren P1, worth £2m, keeps him in touch with his former F1 team
  • A 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, which can cost around £750k
  • An electric Mercedes-Maybach 6
  • A Mercedes Maybach S600, worth £800k
  • A Honda CRF450RX Motocross bike
  • An electric Maverick X3 dune buggy
  • He bought his Sunseeker 90 yacht in 2009 for $4m

F1 drivers were banned from wearing jewellery in the paddock last year but that didn’t stop Hamilton rebelling by turning up to one race wearing three luxury watches worth a total of  £32,250 . He wore these three pieces from manufacturer IWC:

  • Big Pilot’s Watch (£10,900)
  • Big Pilot’s Watch Top Gun Mojave Desert (£14,500)
  • Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team watch (£6,850)

Lewis Hamilton (GBR) Mercedes AMG F1 in the FIA Press Conference. Formula 1 World Championship, Rd 5, Miami Grand Prix,

Hamilton has spent years as the No1 earner on the list of F1 drivers salaries , although he has since fallen behind Max Verstappen.

Hamilton pocketed a $55m salary from Mercedes in 2023, according to Forbes, but not a single penny in bonuses.

Lewis Hamilton’s net worth was £300m in 2022, according to The Sunday Times Rich List.

It is regularly reported at between £200m-£300m.

Lewis Hamilton strikes a pose on a trip to see penguins in Antarctica

Hamilton, 38 last Saturday, joined US Olympic snowboard gold medallist Shaun White, 36, on board M/Y Octopus.

He was spotted in a video White posted on Instagram as the group snapped Adélie penguins in Antarctica’s Victoria Land.

Hamilton also posed in a bright orange snowsuit for his own pictures and videos online.

The 414ft Octopus, which costs £1.8million a week to charter, was built for late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and is owned by Swedish billionaire Roger Samuelsson.

Lewis Hamilton of Great Britain and Mercedes GP gives a thumbs up as he leaves the circuit on a boat after qualifying for the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix

It is no secret that Dorset is home to the headquarters of a world-class yacht company that has many celebrity customers. Sunseekers International is a British luxury yacht brand based in Poole, but has since become a worldwide company, sought after by the rich and famous.

The likes of Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman , and F1 racing tycoon Eddie Jordan have their very own Sunseeker superyachts, but the list of known celebrities who own one of these luxury vessels appears to be growing. The latest famous face to own a fancy yacht is F1's seven time winner of the World Drivers' Championship title, Lewis Hamilton.

The F1 champion owns the impressive Sunseeker 90, which he reportedly bought for an eye-watering $4 million (£3.1m), according to Crash . The latest yacht model is now estimated to be worth a whopping £6.1 million, but could even reach up to £9 million once its been upgraded.

Hamilton's Sunseeker is around 27.10m in length and offers a sleek interior design. The vessel can hold eight guests in four cabins, plus room to sleep some of the crew members.

Crash reports that the luxury interior is said to be of 'American walnut carpentry' equipped with air conditioning, a professional chef’s sized kitchen and a huge entertainment system. Other impressive specs include the yacht's speeds, which can reach up to 30 knots, and a cruising speed of 22 knots.

There is even an area fit for barbecues, so it seems an ideal yacht for socialising and relaxing. It also features the Bezenzoni ‘Ladder Gangway’, which allows guests to effortlessly access the watersports on offer.

The vessel is often kept in Monaco - apt for the world-class racer, as the destination is known for holding the prestigious F1 Grand Prix races. Hamilton is no stranger posting his lavish lifestyle to his 28.8m legion of followers on Instagram.

The 37-year-old has shared some photos of himself lounging on the Sunseeker 90 and enjoying the views of some of France's most scenic coastlines. He is due to next appear at the British Grand Prix, which will take place at Silverstone on Sunday, July 3.

Lewis Hamilton has a luxury good collection which includes a yacht and $680k watches

Lewis Hamilton celebrated his 39th birthday at the weekend, no doubt in style.

But if you were a friend or family member of the F1 driver , what would you gift him?

It’s probably easier said than done, when he already owns an extensive collection of luxury goods.

Without a doubt, one of the Brit’s biggest interests is fashion.

Lewis Hamilton likes to express his taste and wealth through fashion and with the watches he puts around his wrist.

Apparently, his current collection holds a staggering value of around $680,000, with the bulk of that figure coming from two timepieces.

Lewis Hamilton reportedly has two Patek Philippe Nautilus watches – one in black, one in blue – with the two timepieces worth in the region of $263,000 and $285,000 respectively.

But his watch collection doesn’t stop there, as he reportedly also owns three IWC watches worth over $25,000 a piece.

An IWC brand ambassador, Lewis Hamilton hitched a ride off Supercar Blondie’s very own Alex Hirschi ahead of the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton doesn’t just look stylish at the track, though – he’s known to travel to and from it in style.

The seven-time world champion boasts an impressive collection of supercars.

He might’ve parted ways with his iconic Pagani Zonda, but he still owns a $2.7 million Mercedes-AMG Project ONE , as well as three Ferraris worth in the region of $6.7 million.

Oh, and he’s got a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, which is a $1.4 million replica of the one from ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’.

The crown jewel in his collection, however, is his ultra-rare, 1966 Shelby Cobra reportedly worth an eye-watering $5 million.

He might not have his $20.9 million Bombardier Challenger 605 private jet any longer, but Lewis Hamilton still likes to relax aboard his personal yacht.

The Sunseeker boat, which apparently set him back $3.9 million, stands at over 90 feet in length, perfect for the 103-time Grand Prix winner to unwind in style.

And when he’s not spending time relaxing on board his yacht, he’s spending time at one of his stunning properties across the world.

With a property portfolio worth in excess of $78 million, the F1 legend has homes in London, Geneva, New York and Colorado, alongside his Monaco residence .

We certainly don’t envy those who had to think up a birthday gift for Hamilton’s 39th birthday, given his substantial wardrobe, awe-inspiring car collection and stunning property portfolio.

That being said, the greatest gift he could hope for would be for his Mercedes team to produce a car worthy of taking the title fight to Max Verstappen in 2024.

Formula 1 is never enough to satiate the hunger of Lewis Hamilton for thrill and adrenaline. During the mid-season breaks and the off-season, the Briton engages himself in adventure activities. Among those, skydiving and surfing are his favorites. However, he had something really special planned to celebrate his 38th birthday. That was a trip to Antarctica, among penguins and seals, on an ultra-luxurious yacht.

Hamilton just went through one of the worst Formula 1 seasons he has ever had in his 16-year career. The Briton, for the first time, went through a full season without a race win. A place where he could find peace and gather his thoughts is exactly what he needed to come back stronger for the upcoming 2023 season.

The 7-mile run, even in the off-season, in treacherous conditions, shows Lewis’ commitment to his health. Modern F1 drivers are fitter and leaner than their earlier counterparts. The commitment to excel is praiseworthy as they all have pretty tough training regimes and diet plans.

Hamilton revealed why he loves adventure sports and activities

In 2020, Lewis appeared in an interview with Desus & Mero for Showtime. They talked about his various experiences, ranging from Met Gala to rivalry with Max Verstappen. But one part of the interview that caught our attention was when he talked about the need for adrenaline when he’s not racing and the activities he engages himself in.

“I love surfing. I sky dive, love skydiving,”  he said. The shocked hosts asked him if he was “ an adrenaline junkie.”  Hamilton answered, “ Yeah, you basically have to substitute it. Because the races. You’re on this massive high and when you come after the race, the next couple of days, you’re just crashing down. Then you hit a low. Then you have to pick yourself back up. You’re back into training. So I usually fill it in with things, fun activities in between training.”

Lewis Hamilton’s mega $446m Ferrari deal with vast business empire promised – report

Lewis Hamilton smiles at fans when he arrives at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Lewis Hamilton smiles at fans.

Lewis Hamilton was reportedly lured to Ferrari by a deal worth a staggering $446million which stretches far beyond his Formula 1 driving duties with the Scuderia.

It looked like Hamilton’s future with Mercedes was secure after he signed a multi-year contract extension during the 2023 campaign, this deal running until the end of 2025 and seen as the one which could potentially take him to the end of his Formula 1 career.

All of that has been blown out of the window though after the bombshell announcement came that Hamilton triggered a break clause that will make the dream move to Ferrari happen in 2025, following years of speculation.

Ferrari to fund Lewis Hamilton beyond just Formula 1?

French publication Sportune has released alleged details on the financial packages put forward to Hamilton by Ferrari, who unleashed the big bucks to seal the deal.

It is reported that Hamilton initially turned down a two-year deal worth just over $50m per season, Ferrari chairman John Elkann leading the negotiations, which were re-ignited by Ferrari granting Hamilton’s wish for investment into his Mission 44 organisation, while further perks were sent his way.

The terms agreed to by Hamilton reportedly includes a pay packet just north of $87m for 2025, with the option to extend for 2026, a quarter of that going into funding Mission 44, while Elkann has offered to create a joint-investment fund via Ferrari’s parent brand Exor, worth over $272m, where Hamilton would serve as the ambassador for his portfolio.

The Mercedes board had reportedly denied Hamilton’s proposal to serve as an ambassador until 2035.

Hamilton has moved to shed light on his shock call to join Ferrari, explaining that “the time is right” to take on this challenge, while assuring total commitment for F1 2024, his final season with Mercedes.

“I have had an amazing 11 years with this team and I’m so proud of what we have achieved together,” he said.

“Mercedes has been part of my life since I was 13 years old. It’s a place where I have grown up, so making the decision to leave was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make.

“But the time is right for me to take this step and I’m excited to be taking on a new challenge. I will be forever grateful for the incredible support of my Mercedes family, especially Toto for his friendship and leadership and I want to finish on a high together.

“I am 100% committed to delivering the best performance I can this season and making my last year with the Silver Arrows, one to remember.”

Ferrari are set to field one of, if not the most daunting driver line-ups on the F1 grid in 2025 as Hamilton prepares to partner Charles Leclerc.

Lewis hamilton and his ‘new love’ live it up on philip green’s £100m yacht in corsica.

Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton has become known as one of the ‘wokest’ men in sport, while his good pal Philip Green is well-known for his controversies and scandals.

Yet the pioneering sportsman, 35, who was joined by model Florence Mueller, proved their friendship defies their politics as he was seen living it up on the disgraced fashion tycoon’s £100m superyacht, Lionheart on Monday.

It is the second time Lewis and his rumoured love interest Florence have joined the Topshop boss on his yacht, which is complete with helipad, pool, 15 crew cabins and room for 12 guests,as they have been taking to the highs seas between Lewis’ stints at the Formula One last weekend.

The appearance comes just days after the fashion mogul issued a grovelling apology in a humiliating U-turn over plans to exploit the government’s furlough pay cut loophole to reduce payments to staff his company Arcadia was making redundant.

Lewis, who hit headlines at the F1 over the weekend when he took a knee wearing a black T-Shirt with the message ‘Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor’, has frequently spent time with Philip and the Green family, with the friendship seemingly blossoming at the 2015 Met Gala, where Lewis wore a Topshop suit.

Heading off: Lewis Hamilton has become known as one of the ‘wokest’ drivers in Formula One, while his good pal Philip Green is well-known for his controversies and scandals, yet they maintain a friendship and were seen together on Monday on the latter’s yacht

In 2015, Lewis thanked Phillip for ‘hooking him up’ with his invite to the prestigious Met Gala, where he wore Topman. Joined by Emily Ratajkowski, Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin and a host of other megastars who all wore custom Topshop to the event, Lewis sported the high street store for the most important night in fashion.

Since then, the duo have been spotted together in both a friendship and professional capacity, with Lewis often hanging out with Philip’s daughter Chloe. Like the Greens, Lewis owns property in tax-free Monaco, where he is believed to have a home in the exclusive Fontvieille district.

In October last year, Hamilton, who previously owned a private jet, defended his right to speak out on environmental issues after receiving backlash

He revealed he had sold his private jet, trimmed down his collection of luxury cars and was using less plastic to reduce his carbon footprint

Bold: Lewis hit headlines at the F1 over the weekend when he took a knee wearing a black T-Shirt with the message ‘Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor’

However yachts are not known for being environmentally friendly, with huge emissions, possible impact on wildlife and use of single-use plastic on board

Lewis has been hitting headlines of late thanks to his admirable attempts at shining light on the Black Lives Matter movement in Formula One racing and it was announced on Tuesday that he has avoided any action by Formula One’s governing body for the T-shirt he wore at Sunday’s Tuscan Grand Prix.

Ahead of Sunday’s race, Hamilton took a knee wearing a black T-Shirt with the message ‘Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor’, which sparked investigation.

lewis hamilton superyacht

The boys: The unlikely friends spent some quality time together on the high seas

Taylor, a 26-year-old black woman, was shot dead by police in her Louisville home six months ago. He then wore the T-shirt for his post-race interview, broadcast to millions around the world, before collecting the winner’s trophy and standing on the podium in the same clothing.

Philip meanwhile has been hitting headlines for very different reasons than his crusading pal.

In a humiliating U-turn, the tycoon’s retail empire issued a grovelling apology at the weekend for plans to exploit furlough rules to reduce payments to staff who it was making redundant.

Arcadia Group, which has taken tens of millions of pounds in taxpayer-funded furlough money, was savaged after it emerged that employees who were losing their jobs would miss out on money during their notice period.

In an extraordinary statement, the company crumbled, axeing the plan and apologising to its employees. Sources close to Sir Philip said he had ordered the U-turn after learning of the details of the proposed pay cut.

‘We recently implemented a policy for those employees who are working their notice on furlough to receive their furlough pay instead of their full pay,’ the company said in its statement.

lewis hamilton superyacht

The whole clan: Lewis has frequently spent time with Philip and the Green family, with the friendship seemingly blossoming at the 2015 Met Gala, where Lewis wore a Topshop suit (Lewis with Chloe, Tina and Philip Green in 2017)

‘We got this decision wrong and the board has today amended this policy to ensure all affected employees will receive their full pay. They will be notified of this decision immediately.

‘We are extremely sorry to all those individuals impacted for the distress that we have caused and apologise unreservedly.’

Arcadia, which includes the fashion brands Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Dorothy Perkins, is making 300 staff redundant at its head office after sales slumped during the coronavirus lockdown.

But it was revealed that bosses had planned to take advantage of a loophole in rules allowing it to pay axed staff at reduced rates during their notice period.

Arcadia made 300 staff at its head office redundant and paid then reduced rates for their notice period through a loophole in the government rules.

Lewis Hamilton escapes punishment for the ‘Arrest the cops’ Breonna Taylor t-shirt he wore at Tuscan Grand Prix

lewis hamilton superyacht

Lewis Hamilton stood on the Mugello podium wearing a shirt calling for the arrest of police officers following the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor

Lewis Hamilton  will not be punished by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) for wearing a t-shirt in honour of  Breonna Taylor  at the Tuscan Grand Prix last weekend.

The Mercedes driver sported a top which read: ‘Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor’, referring to an African-American woman who was fatally shot by police officers in Louisville, Kentucky, earlier this year.

The governing body looked into whether the t-shirt breached its rules and concluded it did not – but the FIA appears to be moving to ensure there are no repeats by changing its guidelines. ‘The situation is under active consideration for a clarification that will be in place for the next race,’ a spokesman for the FIA told CNN.

This means Hamilton will be told not to wear that kind of t-shirt on the podium again.

British former world champion Damon Hill has given a scathing verdict on how Formula One has handled the controversy, saying Hamilton must not be silenced should he wish to protest.

Hill, 59, tweeted: ‘Such a mixed reaction to Lewis Hamilton’s T-shirt podium message.

‘But F1 has always had its head in the sand over any issue that might make people think about anything other than F1.

‘It has to make space for these messages if it is to be embraced by the wider world.’

Hamilton said on Instagram on Tuesday that he will continue to use his position to promote his views.

‘I want you to know that I won’t stop,’ he wrote. ‘I won’t let up. I won’t give up on using this platform to shed light on what I believe is right.

‘This is a journey for all of us to come together and challenge the world on every level of injustice, not only racial.

‘We can help make this a better place for our kids and the future generations.’

Reigning world champion Hamilton wore the t-shirt during the ‘taking a knee’ ceremony and on the podium following his 90th career win on Sunday.

The back of the top read: ‘Say her name’ as Hamilton paid tribute to the 26-year-old medical technician who was killed after her boyfriend opened fire on police during a drugs search at their house in March.

Hamilton also raised awareness of Breonna Taylor in his interview following the race.

He said: ‘It was like three races in one day. Just incredibly tough. We had a difficult start.

‘The heat and keeping Valtteri (Bottas) behind, who has been quick all weekend, was not easy. I was behind at the beginning. Total focus was needed for the restarts. It was really, really hard.

‘Keeping that over one-second gap was crucial as I didn’t want them [race rivals] to have DRS on that 1000m straight. Justice for Breonna Taylor.’

He also said: ‘I’ve been wanting to bring awareness to the fact there are people being killed on the street.

‘And someone was killed in her own house and they were in the wrong house and those guys are still walking free.’

The FIA had been considering whether Hamilton had breached article 1.2 of their statutes, which says: ‘The FIA shall refrain from manifesting discrimination on account of race, skin colour, gender, 𝑠e𝑥ual orientation, ethnic or social origin, language, religion, philosophical or political opinion, family situation or disability in the course of its activities and from taking any action in this respect.’

The FIA and the sport’s owners Liberty Media have previously tried hard to work with the Brit on his anti-racism fight.

It has become customary this season for Formula One drivers to gather in opposition to racism before the start of races.

Hamilton has been a vocal supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement ever since it rose to global prominence following the death of George Floyd in May.

Hamilton, who continues to lead the way for change in the sport, has used his platforms to condemn racial injustice with incidents such as the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, and more recently the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

But the rule does not apply to employees whose contracts include a longer notice period, which is the case for many of Arcadia’s head office staff.

Arcadia seized on the loophole to pay these staff according to their furlough – and not their pre-crisis – rates of pay.

One executive at Arcadia reportedly told staff that the company needed to take ‘every penny we can get’ of public money. It would have saved the retail empire less than £1million.

The move meant some higher-earning staff were set to receive just 50 per cent of the notice period pay they would have been entitled to if Arcadia had not taken advantage of the furlough scheme.

A senior employee earning £100,000 would, for example, normally have been paid a full monthly salary of £5,553 during their notice period, but would have received just £2,777 under the ditched plan.

The company’s stance was in stark contrast to other big chains, including John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, WH Smith, Boots and Dixons Carphone, which say all redundancy packages are based on full pay.

While Lewis has made his anti-racism crusade well-known, Philip was hit with shocking allegations in 2018. It was claimed that he had perpetrated racism and 𝑠e𝑥ual harassment – yet at the time he told The Mail on Sunday he had suffered ‘the worst week of my life’.

The Topshop boss was identified as the man who had taken out an injunction preventing publication of allegations about his harassment of staff, which he strenuously denies.

Speaking after the scandal erupted, the Topshop owner said that he had indulged in nothing more than ‘banter’ with his staff, claiming he had a good relationship with those who worked for him.

He added: ‘I’m very, very, very upset. I’m being used as target practice when there is zero [evidence] that anyone has turned up with. It’s injuring my business, all the people potentially working in the business, and it’s injuring me and my family.’

Aside from his unusual friendships, Lewis’ love life has again been hitting headlines since he has been spotted out and about with stunning model Florence during his time off.

Florence is part of Next Model Management’s Miami roster and also works with Click Models, she is fluent in English, Spanish, and German and also has her own Only Fans account. With her long limbs, toned abs and luscious raven locks, Florence bore a striking resemblance to his former flame, Nicole Scherzinger.

But a source speaking to The Sun on Sunday claimed that Lewis and the model were strictly friends, as they claimed they were ‘just good mates.’The inside said: ‘Lewis and Florence aren’t dating, they’re just good mates. She joined him on the boat as part of a group of pals with Lewis.

‘They get on but there’s nothing romantic going on between them at the moment.’ MailOnline has contacted Lewis’ representatives for comment.

Lewis and Nicole called time on their on and off eight year relationship in 2015 but have remained amicable, reuniting last year at the Fashion Awards in London in December.

Speaking about their split during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Nicole revealed: ‘I don’t see anything negative.

‘I think it’s quite natural when people separate and go their own ways and you just have to be adult about it and just always wish the other person happiness, success and love like sincerely and I do.’

When asked whether they still stay in touch, the Poison hitmaker – who first started seeing the race car driver in 2007 – was frank in her admission.

Loyal companion: As ever, Lewis’ pet bulldog Roscoe was never far from his side

She added: ‘Yeah we don’t, like, talk. I think that he is the best driver since Ayrton Senna and I think that he’s probably going to win this year and I only wish him happiness and success.’

The American beauty is now dating retired British rugby player Thom Evans after meeting on Celebrity X Factor at the end of last year.

They may have been dating for less than a year, but Nicole and Thom are clearly devoted to one another and divide their time between her LA pad and London.

Lewis Hamilton: FIA trust weakened by F1's recent scandals, controversy

lewis hamilton superyacht

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton said it is becoming increasingly difficult for fans to trust Formula One's governing body, the FIA, adding that its president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, has never had his support.

His comments follow several weeks of scandal and controversy in F1, which escalated further on Wednesday when Susie Wolff, the head of all-female racing series F1 Academy, revealed she had filed a criminal complaint against the FIA.

A few hours before Wolff went public over her legal action, the FIA announced an independent investigation by its compliance department had cleared Ben Sulayem of wrongdoing in a separate claim relating to whistleblower accusations of race interference and withholding Las Vegas' circuit certification .

When Hamilton was asked by reporters during a news conference ahead of this weekend's Australian Grand Prix if Ben Sulayem still had his backing as FIA president, he said: "He never has."

Wolff's legal action relates to a short-lived FIA investigation into an alleged conflict of interest between the head of the F1 Academy and her husband Toto, the team principal of the Mercedes F1 team.

Hamilton said he hoped Wolff's decision to take her complaint out of the governing body's jurisdiction and into the courts would force greater transparency and accountability from the FIA.

"Firstly, I'm incredibly proud of Susie," the Mercedes driver said. "I think she is so brave, and she stands for such great values. She's such a leader, and in a world where often people are silenced, for her to be standing up sends such a great message.

"I love that she's taken it out of this [F1] world, because there is a real lack of accountability here, within this sport, within the FIA, things that are happening behind closed doors, there is no transparency, there is really no accountability, and we need that.

"I think the fans need that. How can you trust the sport and what is happening here if you don't have that?

"Hopefully this stand that she's taking now will create change, will have a positive impact, and especially for women."

George Russell, Hamilton's Mercedes teammate who is also a director of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association, agreed that greater transparency is needed from the governing body.

"As drivers we have a role within the teams, and you trust that the leaders in this sport have the best interests at their heart rather than their own interests," Russell said. "I think it goes back to the transparency side of things.

"If things are transparent and we see the outcome of these cases, we all have a chance to judge for ourselves with all of the facts and figures in front of us. But when we don't have the facts and figures, and there is no transparency, you always think there's something being hidden.

"That's why I think it's so important for the sport now, as Lewis said, to send the right message to everybody who is supporting Formula One, watching Formula One, wants to be involved in Formula One, that things aren't just swept under the carpet."

Hamilton also appeared to reference the recent saga surrounding Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, which has dominated the sport's headlines at the opening two races of the 2024 season.

Horner was accused of inappropriate behaviour by a female colleague but was cleared of wrongdoing by the F1 team's parent company, Red Bull GmbH, following an independent investigation by a British lawyer earlier this year.

The woman who made the complaint has since been suspended by Red Bull but, according to reports, has appealed Red Bull GmbH's original decision.

While Hamilton did not specifically refer to the Red Bull case, he said the sport was not sending out the right message to women fans.

"It is still a male-dominated sport, and we're living in a time where the message is if you file a complaint, you will be fired, and that is a terrible narrative to be projecting to the world, especially when we're talking about inclusivity here in the sport," Hamilton said.

"We need to make sure we stay true to the core values."

Strange Glow Over Moscow Skies Triggers Panic as Explosions Reported

B right flashes lit up the night sky in southern Moscow in the early hours of Thursday morning, new footage appears to show, following reports of an explosion at an electrical substation on the outskirts of the city.

Video snippets circulating on Russian-language Telegram channels show a series of flashes on the horizon of a cloudy night sky, momentarily turning the sky a number of different colors. In a clip shared by Russian outlet MSK1.ru, smoke can be seen rising from a building during the flashes lighting up the scene.

Newsweek was unable to independently verify the details of the video clips, including when and where it was filmed. The Russian Ministry of Emergency situations has been contacted via email.

Several Russian Telegram accounts said early on Thursday that residents of southern Moscow reported an explosion and a fire breaking out at an electrical substation in the Leninsky district, southeast of central Moscow.

Local authorities in the Leninsky district told Russian outlet RBC that the explosion had happened in the village of Molokovo. "All vital facilities are operating as normal," Leninsky district officials told the outlet.

The incident at the substation in Molokovo took place just before 2 a.m. local time, MSK1.ru reported.

Messages published by the ASTRA Telegram account, run by independent Russian journalists, appear to show residents close to the substation panicking as they question the bright flashes in the sky. One local resident describes seeing the bright light before losing access to electricity, with another calling the incident a "nightmare."

More than 10 villages and towns in the southeast of Moscow lost access to electricity, the ASTRA Telegram account also reported. The town of Lytkarino to the southeast of Moscow, lost electricity, wrote the eastern European-based independent outlet, Meduza.

Outages were reported in the southern Domodedovo area of the city, according to another Russian outlet, as well as power failures in western Moscow. Electricity was then restored to the areas, the Strana.ua outlet reported.

The cause of the reported explosion is not known. A Telegram account aggregating news for the Lytkarino area described the incident as "an ordinary accident at a substation."

The MSK1.ru outlet quoted a local resident who speculated that a drone may have been responsible for the explosion, but no other Russian source reported this as a possible cause.

Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Moscow with long-range aerial drones in recent months, including a dramatic wave of strikes in late May.

On Sunday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the region's air defense systems had intercepted an aerial drone over the city of Elektrostal, to the east of Moscow. No damage or casualties were reported, he said.

The previous day, Russian air defenses detected and shot down another drone flying over the Bogorodsky district, northeast of central Moscow, Sobyanin said.

There is currently no evidence that an aerial drone was responsible for the reported overnight explosion at the electrical substation in southern Moscow.

For the first time Rosatom Fuel Division supplied fresh nuclear fuel to the world’s only floating nuclear cogeneration plant in the Arctic

The fuel was supplied to the northernmost town of Russia along the Northern Sea Route.

lewis hamilton superyacht

The first in the history of the power plant refueling, that is, the replacement of spent nuclear fuel with fresh one, is planned to begin before 2024. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. As the only nuclear fuel supplier to Russian NPPs, TVEL supplies fuel for a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, for research reactors in nine countries, as well as for propulsion reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on TVEL fuel. Rosatom Fuel Division is the world’s largest producer of enriched uranium and the leader on the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. TVEL also includes Rosatom integrators for additive technologies and electricity storage systems. Rosenergoatom, Joint-Stock Company is part of Rosatom Electric Power Division and one of the largest companies in the industry acting as an operator of nuclear power plants. It includes, as its branches, 11 operating NPPs, including the FNPP, the Scientific and Technical Center for Emergency Operations at NPPs, Design and Engineering as well as Technological companies. In total, 37 power units with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW are in operation at 11 nuclear power plants in Russia. Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC, Elektrostal) is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fuel for nuclear power plants. The company produces fuel assemblies for VVER-440, VVER-1000, RBMK-1000, BN-600,800, VK-50, EGP-6; powders and fuel pellets intended for supply to foreign customers. It also produces nuclear fuel for research reactors. The plant belongs to the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom.
