Locale carino personale gentile ottimo cocktail. Atmosfera simpatica e rilassante. Favoloso soprattutto il Bellini eseguito con vera purea di pesca. Fantastico

Alla vigilia di Ferragosto, il locale non accetta più clienti alle 22.45, perché è stata una giornata molto intensa e non hanno più ghiaccio. Direi che ogni commento è superfluo. Roberto

Eleganza, raffinatezza, cortesia, e gentilezza... basta x distinguersi e dare il giusto merito a questo luogo. Non è un vero e proprio ristorante, questo viene chiarito dal momento in cui chiami x prenotare, e già ti viene chiesto se conosci il loro menù (100 punti)... e ti viene elencato ciò che hanno in menù quel giorno di piatti da ristoro... sono pochi ma eccellenti, e poi tutto il resto da longe bar. Location impeccabile, tutto in ordine dai bagni, ( importantissimi) alla cassa dove paghi alle musiche eleganti, diffuse nell'aire assieme al canto del mare lì a pochi metri... che dire grazie x l'accoglienza, x la meraviglia che avete trasmesso alla mia signora ornando un piatto con il cuore x il nostro anniversario di matrimonio. Siamo tornati un paio di giorni fa in questo incantevole locale, una vera perla incastonata poco prima del porticciolo di alassio. Ogni volta che sono ad Alassio vengo qui a fare aperitivo per la vista molto bella, il locale incantevole e per gli ottimi drink. Consigliatissimi i daiquiri con la frutta fresca (lampone, fragola, pesca ecc). I prezzi (12€ circa) secondo me sono proporzionati alla qualità... del prodotto e bellezza del locale con vista. Altro

Piacevolissimo ristorante, appartato, raffinato senza eccessi, tranquillo. Buona l'accoglienza, eleganti e ben distanziati i tavoli, gentile il servizio. Menù non lunghissimo (che per noi è garanzia di qualità) con piatti ben assortiti. Abbiamo ottimo ricordo delle linguine alle capesante e dell'insalata tiepida di mare. Piacevoli... i mini snack offerti nell'attesa. Buoni i dolci, torta di mele con gelato alla vaniglia, coppa di marron glacees al rum con panna fresca. Alla fine di una bella passeggiata di 2,5 km che costeggia la spiaggia e la scogliera di Alassio si arriva al Sandon’s Yachting Club che rappresenta una vera e propria oasi di tranquillità. Accoglienza formale con possibilità di essere serviti sia al bar che al... ristorante, in un bel dehors che guarda Alassio e Laigueglia o se preferite nella sala interna allestita come un club privato. Menù con proposte di pesce e carne, toast, croque e sandwich. Lista dei vini essenziale ma con buone etichette. Insomma, se avete voglia di un posto di classe dove recuperare un po’ di serenità, l’indirizzo è quello giusto. Altro

I have been going to Sandon's for many years. Already my grandparents were coming here after their walks. The place is very classy, furnished in a "marine" way with a beautiful stone wall. Service is excellent. The menu lists snacks that will be enough for... a dinner. My favorites are the sandwiches and the croque monsieur. Cocktails are fancy and good by they are the classic ones. Maybe a bit more choice would be nice. Desserts are excellent and always home made. Expensive but worth it. More

Restaurants and bars with an iconic heritage enjoy a priceless advantage-as long as people care about their history. We missed Sandon's prime by a good decade or so. There is still an aura or afterglow, a tribute to a very colorful and savvy bartender who... brought Cuban Rum and virtuoso cocktails to a well heeled foreign clientele in the seventies. The bar continues to be well stocked, particularly when it comes to hard liquor. The luncheon menu is rather short; a few sandwiches and salads, one pasta dish and four or five other entrees. On a late Sunday in October they were out of the beef filet, and were serving tuna literally five different ways. We chose a Spaghetti with Shrimp that was quite respectable. The service is friendly but a bit Caribbean. Don't come here if you are in a hurry. We ordered two desserts that were surprisingly excellent: a raspberry sorbet and a Pistaccio cream with a few fresh raspberries on a cookie crust. Half a dozen couples came and went during our meal. Everyone wanted to sit outside with the lovely ocean view. The restaurant is at the far east end of town, just before the entrance to the Marina. It's a long walk or a short drive; worth taking to sample an historic venue that still has some cachet. More

Have visited this place before and will do so again. It makes for a memorable and magical experience. Having cocktails on the terrace overlooking the sea are just a magical experience. We have always been served wifh very nice nibbles and these are also very... nice. A must for a visit to Alassio, which in itself is a gem. Visited previously by more discerning great and good such as Churchill, Hemingway, Loren, etc etc. More

A lavish fit out but disappointing service and outrageous prices. We went for lunch and only very expensive snacks and sandwiches were available. The only happy customers seemed to be two very noisy American millionaires who had their Rolls Royces parked outside and who informed... everyone within 100 metres how much they spend each year shipping their cars around the world to Rolls Royce owners' rallies. At the northeast tip of Alassio and the entrance to the real yacht club and marina, this is an elegant and unique establishment with lovely teak tables outside on a faux yacht deck with a tall waist high sloping fence that makes you feel you... are on a vessel. The view, out to sea, with a long angle on the Alassio strand is quite exhilirating. The inside restaurant is agreeable and the restrooms are immaculate. Named after perhaps Alassio's most famous bartender, it is a place for "the beautiful people" or those who wish to pretend to be so for high priced drinks and/or a light meal. When you have a very brief menu, and are not bashful about the prices, it had better be good. Our luncheon salads were very good if not brilliant. No matter. It is a lovely location and expensive piece of real estate. The Gatsbys would have loved it. On a windy early in the week mid-September afternoon, we were the only customers for lunch. Consequently, we didn't detect any "attitude", which seems to offend some other reviewers. This is a day and age where much true style and class have disappeared. If a tiny bit of it survives here, we are all for it. Their website clearly features models rather than real people, but what's wrong with aspiring to la bella figura? There are plenty of other places in town to go for the basics. We were pleased with salads that featured beautiful gamberi from Argentina and premium buffalo mozzarela. Macedonia di frutta was prepared to order. A respectable bottle of Pigato was on offer and there were real napkins, not the flimsy paper ones that are found in most Alassio establishments. Whether the spirit of the famous mixologist who brought premium rums to Alassio four decades ago still survives, I don't know. But the bar is well stocked, and it is a short drive or a long windy walk down the service road to find out. We will be back from time to time. The staff we met at the restaurant were competent, if a bit reserved. I wouldn't characterize that as attitude, detached but not aloof. More

Sports throughout the year, how, where and when to practice.

Sea and land, an ideal climate for sport activities, the support of the most advanced and extremely versatile structures. These characteristics, which make Alassio unique and precious, also recommend it to the world as the ideal place for sport. Modern facilities to satisfy the requirements of all sportsmen are devoted to traditional sports, both individual or team. For obvious climatic and logistic reasons much space is devoted to sport activities which don’t require any facilities and to those requiring facilities which can be integrated into the natural surrounding, thus enabling sportsmen to discover and enjoy the beauty of the landscape, the variety and richness of the flora and fauna which make of Alassio and Liguria a splendid gym in the open air.

During the Summer months (but not only) most sportsmen are attracted by the sea: the wonderful depths, the beaches and the cliffs offer many possibilities for sport activities from diving to surfing, from sailing, which has made the name of Alassio famous all over the world, to cycling, from wind-surf to off-shore racing. From volley-ball to beach-ball from karate to aikido, from tennis to bowling: from January to December the town is always present in the roll of honour of sporting events.

Horse-riding fans can find panoramic and naturalistic routes of great quality following the ancient roads connecting villages, far from the town noise.We must point out the San Bernardo route better known as “green route”. To get there it is very easy: from Via Borri (sport ground) you go up in the direction of the panoramic road towards the “Puerta del Sol” as far as the remains of San Bernardo Church. On the left of the road, opposite the Church, starts the green route of about two kilometres among pine trees and different types of bushes. Some gymnastic tools and benches have been placed among them to make the stay in those surroundings more exclusive and pleasant. You can also practice hang glider, minigolf, table tennis, football, basketball...

Alassio as usual for all of the best cities on the sea, has a lot of sea promenades to discover either hidden baies or to reach the Gallinara with different kind of boats. Among them, the right one is the sail boat. The winds, blowing on the Alassio sea, create a very difficult regatta course, but anyway very fascinating for the sailing fans. It is also possible to rent any kind of boats, for private tours and diving trips. The Yacht Club “Al mare”, one of the Italian oldest, founded in 1925, has a sailing school, whose athletes have raced in the olympic games and in the world championships, and organizes every years important regattas.

Almost in front of Alassio, mostly in winter and in autumn, the sea makes high and energic waves, creating an amazing show that captures brave and skilled surfers, transforming Alassio in a California spot. Among the well known waves, also for the web surfer, is the one forming just in front of the dock (molo) and the western wind, Tramontana, makes Alassio one of the best Italian places for surfers and kitesurfers, that play with the board pulled by a wing, blow by the wind. Many the schools and surf lovers that come here to fly and slide on the sea.

PARAGLIDING

It is possible to sail in the blue sky ot the Alassio with hang and para-gliding, enjoying, from on high, the sea and the green coasts, mainly in autumn and in spring, when the best winds arrive. We can take off from two well known points, also quoted in the web from the Pisciavino mount, with a lift-off on 580 meters below the sea level. We go up a dirt road, very bumpy, that brings to the repeaters on the top. An other is in Puerta del Sol, with a little take off, with an incredible killer view, just lit bit on railway above. From here there is no possibility to make error because, being very low, a good wind is necessary to sail “in dynamic”, otherwise we take risk to fall in the beach.

Alassio has a long horse riding story, with athletes that played in the very important international contests. Around Alassio there are a lot of rings, where to learn a sport, just this, joining together man and horse. Ride schools for professional riders, with jump and dressage, and special lesson for kids. Here it is possible to recover our own horse all along the year. Moving little bit far from the city we find other rings that organize groups, lead by instructor, for promenades on the nature and american riding lesson. In the Ippodromo dei Fiori, in Villanova d’Albenga, some minutes far from Alassio, where to attend to sport trot and gallop races. Places dedicated for the kids, where to know the horse world, also with the instructor assistance.

GOING ON THE SEA

In Alassio we can live the sea up and down, as for the beautiful blue spots as well for its rich bottoms. One of the best thing to do on the sea is the whale watching, observing the passage of the Ligurian Sea International Sanctuary. On the boats, that Alimar organises in the summer twice per week, there is always a marine biolog, that, while shows the watching to the audience, collects data for the scientific research. With Alimar is also possible to rent boats for organizing birthday and wedding parties, enjoying the wonderful natural show of the cost.

The Alassio sea bottoms, without submarine drifts, have different interesting diving spots. 500 mt. far from the Gallinara, 38/40 mt. deep, recently reopened, there is the Umberto l’s wreck, merchant ship sunk, in 1917, by a British torpedo. For the skilled divers, cause for the poor visibility, the very impressive visit to two wrecks: the German Oued Tifles, wellknown as Tifly’s, and the Bettolina di Cervo, both torpedoed by British Navy. One of the most interesting marine archeological bottom is just in front of Albenga, where the guest star is the old Nave Oneraria, only visiting on demand to preserve it.

THE HARBOUR

It hosts the Porto Authority, the Merchant Marine and the “Al mare” Yacht Club. It has been founded in 1925 by a group of sea sport lovers. Even if the Centre developed, adding new modern structures, the inspiring soul of the current share-holders remains the same of the pioneers one. Beyond the Marine there is a free wide beach with sand and little stones, that arrives till Punta Murena, one of the most suggestive natural places, with the magnificent Villa and the surrounding park, that arrives till the sea.

The Luca Ferrari harbour is a fine example of what a tourist harbour should be like. In addition to basic services it also has Internet wi-fi coverage of the entire harbour area, as well as a modern bilge water pumping service that makes the harbour of Alassio one of the first modern marinas in Italy is able to provide this important service. The harbour has 550 berths, all with water and electricity supply socket, that can accommodate vessels of up to 35 metres on a short-term basis. Car Parking is free for the first half hour.

The new Frauscher 650 Alassio defends its position at the top of the market with a multitude of updates. The characteristic design features, ease of use and details of the workmanship continue to distinguish the model from its competitors. Michael Frauscher, managing director and responsible for the development and production of the new edition, explains: “After 250 units produced, it was time to take the 650 Alassio to a new level, to give it a more precious appearance and a more captivating appeal.” 

Mauro Feltrinelli, owner of Cantiere Nautico Feltrinelli, official importer of the Frauscher brand in Italy, adds: “We are once again struck by the care and expertise with which the Austrian shipyard tackles every new project, whether it is the creation of a completely” revolutionary model. ”Like Timesquare20 or a“ simple ”restyling as in the case of 650 Alassio. A commitment that deserves all our consideration, and that would indeed deserve to reach greater market shares also in our country, which is still little inclined to use electricity for boating in protected basins, the example of Garda applies to all. Comfortable seats and ease of use

In the cockpit, the Commander can enjoy a completely redesigned dashboard that now features two cup holders and the latest Fusion Marine and JL Audio multimedia components. The large touchscreens make it easy to use and give it a neat appearance. In the cockpit, guests enjoy two comfortable armchairs and a large rear seat, all padded and specially designed to leave ample space on board. The precious diamond stitching, optional, gives all the cushions further comfort and refinement.

High quality design down to the last detail

The teak that covers the bow, cockpit and swim platform is now standard on every Frauscher 650 Alassio. For the side profile of the boat, the designers took inspiration from Frauscher 1212 Ghost, with its typical air intakes. The windshield has also been redesigned: stainless steel applications have been added and an LED lighting system has been set up for those who request it.  

Still not enough? The Frauscher engineers have pulled a few more gems out of the cylinder: the tailgate of the engine compartment, under the generous sundeck, is now electrically operated, facilitating access to the stowage space next to the batteries and facilitating the opening of the bimini. A bow thruster is now available for the 650 Alassio (on request). Other options: a generous refrigerator, a state-of-the-art sound system, a teak cockpit table and metallic paint in the desired color.

Performance 

In terms of engines and batteries, Frauscher 650 Alassio has always kept up with the times. For the second generation, four different engine options are available from 4.3 to 60 kW of power and battery capacities from 10 to 40 kWh. “For shallow waters, we have developed a special version with a draft of only 45 cm,” explains Michael Frauscher. Deliveries of the 650 Alassio will begin in April 2022.

“Band of Brothers” in Alassio 

Smeralda 888 – trofeo luigi carpaneda  – alassio  – 14-16 may.

Sunday 16th May 2021. The “Band of Brothers” were to be found in Alassio, Italy, this weekend competing in the Trofeo Luigi Carpaneda. It was the second stage in this championship and the first time for the class in Alassio

Six races were completed in conditions varying from 7 to 20 knots for the ten teams taking part. The level and performance consistency was such that the top three boats were only separated by a point. Among those participating was Pietro Sibello, tactician on  Luna Rossa , finalist in the last America’s Cup.

Francesco Vauban’s team on Botta Dritta triumphed followed by Class President Charles de Bourbon des Deux-Siciles’  Vamos Mi Amor  in 2 nd , and Paolo Rotelli’s Black Star  in 3 rd . All will be back out on the water in June for the third stage with everything to play for in a championship where the level remains as high as ever.

The windy Russian autumn weather might be a little bit tricky for sailing, but it doesn’t stop brave yachtsmen from all over the world from flocking to Russian capital in the beginning of September when the Moscow Yacht Show commences. The main Russian Yacht exhibition gathers professional and amateur yacht lovers together under the wing of The Royal Yacht Club.

This year it took place for a fourth time already. The exhibition is considered the principal event on the sporting and social calendar. The Moscow Yacht Show 2010 united in one area three of the largest Russian yachts distributors: Ultramarine, Nordmarine and Premium Yachts.

A wide range of yachts were on display for a week. An exhibition showcased yachts both from Russian manufacturers and world famous brands: Azimut, Princess, Ferretti, Pershing, Riviera, Doral, Linssen, etc.

It was a real feast for seafarers as visitors of the show had a unique chance not only to take a look at the newest superyachts before they hit the market, but also to evaluate their driving advantages during the test drive. The show provided an excellent opportunity for yacht enthusiasts to choose and buy a new boat for the next season.

The event started with the grandiose gala evening. It included grand dinner, the concert and professional awards ceremony for achievements in Russian yachting industry. The guests also enjoyed the annual regatta.

Special guest Paolo Vitelli, Azimut Benetti Group president, opened the evening.

Next year organizers assured guests they would bring more yachts, the scale of which will even make oligarch Roman Abramovich envious. Sounds very promising indeed.

After the fire: St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club focused on revitalizing this coming summer

PANAMA CITY — In November, the St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club building on Bunkers Cove Road was destroyed in a fire. Ever since then, questions have circulated around the community: How did the fire start? Would the Yacht Club rebuild?

The Yacht Club was up and operational for business within weeks of the fire. The Yacht Club is still taking in new members, as well. Members have joined the club even after the fire.

”The Yacht Club is in better shape than people would have imagined,” said Michael Wynn, 2024 commodore. “The staff members that we have are family to us. We believe and give to them and they give back to us.”

Wynn explained that one club member had this to say after the fire: “The clubhouse was just a building; the Yacht Club is about the people.”

The Yacht Club has discussed expanding its sailing center to provide greater resources for the community. The club expects the plans and renderings for the new club facility will be unveiled this summer.

Some of the staff members have left the club since the incident and others have stayed.

“Our staff is smaller now since the fire,” said Wynn. “We have less services being offered at the moment, but many staffers who left the club for other jobs have offered to come back once the club becomes (fully) operational again.”

The cause of the fire is still unknown. There have been different ideas and theories on how the fire started, but there has not been a definitive answer. But there was no foul play, Wynn emphasized.

”Right now, we don’t have a final number on what it’s going to cost to rebuild,” said Wynn. “We have architects and plans on rebuilding. We have members of the community who are donating services to help cut the cost (of our rebuild).”

More information about the club will be released closer to the clubhouse reopening. Wynn said the rebuild will both honor the club's history and heritage and also add modern touches.

Wynn said the club's experience dealing with insurance after the fire has been good and the matter soon will be resolved. The experience was much better than the ones many people had after Hurricane Michael, he noted.

Wynn also is humbled and gratified by the outpouring of support and dedication from his fellow club leaders and all club members. He knew his one-year term as commodore, which began in January, would be full of challenges. But the club has rallied because the tradition and legacy mean so much.

"People care so deeply," he said.
