The PDQ 32 is a cruising catamaran which combines comfortable accommodation, good performance and pleasing appearance. It is intended primarily for coastal cruising and island hopping, and is capable of offshore passages. This is a strong, safe boat, built by experienced boatbuilders with best-quality materials to the design of a professional engineer who is also an experienced multihull cruiser. There are two watertight compartments forward. The fin keels have a sacrificial section to allow the boat to stand up to a grounding at relatively high speed. With an unusual and perhaps unique combination of features, the PDQ 32 provides a marvellous sense of space for a boat of this size. The combination of the seahood and a broad opening hatch, augmented by a solid bimini over the  cockpit, breaks  down the borders between living space below and space on deck. Instead, there is a shelter/outdoors continuum that you  can adjust according to your needs or mood. The layout of the boat moves the day accommodation forward to provide  maximum space below with  a comfortable cockpit and  a good working deck. This layout yields two double cabins aft, each large enough to use standard-sized bed linen. -4 large open-plan saloon provides a galley on the port side and navigation station on the starboard side. Accommodations

Upon entering the vessel through the tinted sliding glass door, you step into a large salon which includes the one of two helm stations. To the port side you notice a beautiful table and large U-shaped lounge, which can be converted into a spacious King size berth. Shower accomidations are on the starboard side of the vessel and the Master Stateroom is to the aft. The PDQ contains a tremendous amount of under floor dry storage and cabinet space.

Topside of the PDQ, is a spacious Flybridge with second helm station. The vessel also houses additional storage lockers and features a unique transom stairs of each side of the hull. 

The Salon is a uniquely spacious with large windows and excellent airflow conbined with a large seating area. The Dinette Table is able to drop down which makes for an additonal berth. Seating behind the galley can be easily removed to create higher visibility while below. 

The PDQ Stateroom features a Queen Size Berth. Each vessel is well ventilated with hatches that opening creatig excellent airflow. On each side of the stateroom are large hanging & storage lockers. 

Head & Shower

The Head is located on the Starboard bow side. It has storage space and an electric toilet with separate stall shower. 

Electrical System

The PDQ 34 is extremely well fitted from an electrical standpoint. The system has a 5 KW northern Lights generator for 120V support and a large 12V House battery bank.

PDQ 34s were designed from the ground up as a liveaboard long distance cruiser. PDQ is famous for their sailing catamarans, but this boat was specifically engineered for performance under power with a fantastic 4.5 Miles to the Gallon at 7 Knots. From start to finish, technology is a driving force behind building PDQ boats. The power of this technology is phenomenal in its ability to develop shapes and configurations. With these systems, our designers can quickly and accurately perform weight distribution studies using intricate mathematical models that would otherwise take weeks to complete. The advantage of having a composite model is that we can accurately see perspective views. This “real life” view gives us the ability to place a hypothetical person in the boat to gather ergonomic data. These ergonomic reference models in turn help us select every item and its placement on board. When it come time to build, we can create cross sections and render 3D surfaces that can then be machined to shape.

Accommodations:

Entering the cabin, the lower helm station is to starboard with a large double seat and great visibility for the skipper. A comfortable seating area is to port and then a short step down to the main salon seating area. The main table will fold out of the way but will comfortably seat 6-8 guests, with plenty of storage below the seats. The main AC and DC panels are located just forward of the helm station and is one of the nicest, and most professional, arrangements you will see. The generator starting panel is to port along with the air conditioning panel. The port hull has the galley down with a two burner stove, stainless sink, refrigerator and plenty of storage. Aft is the queen sized berth, hanging locker and several large storage areas for clothing. In the starboard hull is a small area with storage, the owners queen sized berth aft, and a long head area with shower, vanity and sink.

I bought a yacht that I had never seen. I did this because I trusted my broker Andrew Holland. It was not an easy job for Andrew, as I am an experienced boat builder and owner of previous yachts, but work in West Africa. Imagine how hard it was to communicate what I was looking for. Andrew came up with exactly what I wanted. He dealt with time delays, all my questions at odd hours, and was there for the survey. He reported honestly and professionally. After buying the yacht, I arrived at the boat on a Sunday night, after dark, after travelling from West Africa to the Caribbean, and found it was better than expected. He never pulled punches and made me aware of shortfalls. I expected to spend my one month leave working on the boat, but actually spent less than one week, and was able to spend 3 weeks sailing – wonderful bonus.

As with our past flotillas, we have generated a t-shirt to commemorate the 2023 trip called Changes in Latitude.

Last Fall’s flotilla was a hit! Mike Hendry, owner of Easy Riders, took the reins for the latest flotilla and gathered more than 12 boats all making their way to Florida and/or the Bahamas. He even pulled in some non-PDQers!

Our Location

Rhumb Line is based in Stuart, Florida. For many, it's call the "crossroads" as it is the only place in the state that can take you East/West from one coast to the other. It also has a safe inlet a stone's throw from the ICW.
