Our week at sea with David was spectacular. There were two couples that shared the boat with David and two crew. From the moment we stepped on the boat we felt welcomed. The places David chose to take us were epic. We asked for quiet beaches and hidden places and David knew them all. His relationship with the locals on the islands brought an intimacy we didn’t expect . It was my husband’s birthday and a local restaurant even baked him a cake. The food on board was great and had lovely presentation. The weather was rough our week at sea however David quickly handled any situation that arose without hesitation or stress. I felt safe the entire week. The biggest bonus of the week was meeting his daughter Jeanne, who was crewing for him for internship hours. She was utterly delightful!!! Thank you David - See you again on your new boat .

Top and superb rental! We rented the boat for our valentine’s trip and it was wonderful - the weather also played along (although a bit cloudy/windy in the morning), but again it was February :) Carlos was very helpful and responsive to organizing our rental, and Toni who welcomed us in the harbor, gave us top diving and snorkeling tips. He was also very responsive throughout the day!

It is during that period that I learned to navigate on small boats for the first time. After 30 years, I finally got to own my first fishing boat bigger than 8 meters in length. Five years ago, a friend of mine who made his fishing boat available for charter, invited me to come aboard with him and some clients. It is then that I saw how much people appreciated the sea. So, I decided to pass my professional license to be able to take people out on the water in Mallorca.

The service that I offer is simple charters without skipper, because many people own a boat license, and our vessels are easy to handle. We are starting private excursions where we can take people on the boats to places they could not go to by themselves.

Most of the profits we make are spent on fleet upgrades. I always like to remember how thankful renters are when they are satisfied with our service.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

Need to get around Pensacola Beach? Where to rent bikes, golf carts, pontoon boats and more

People flock to the white sands of Pensacola Beach during spring break and the summer, bringing heavy foot traffic and an excess of cars to the beach.

The crowds can make traversing the beach a slog, but luckily there are a variety of rentable vehicles available to make getting around – or just getting out and having some fun – much more convenient.

Whether you’re looking to navigate the roads, sands or waters at Pensacola Beach , local rental businesses in the area have you covered.

Here’s where you can locally rent a vehicle to traverse Pensacola Beach.

Where to Rent Golf carts in Pensacola Beach

Golf carts are a popular traversal option for visitors with a large group of people to take across Pensacola Beach.

All golf carts can be taken on any road in Pensacola Beach where the speed limit is 25 mph or less, but “street legal” carts can be driven on roads with a 35 mph or less speed limit. Golf carts cannot be driven over the Pensacola Beach Toll Bridge.

If you’d prefer not to rent or drive a golf cart during your visit, Gopher Carts also offers transportation around Pensacola Beach from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day for no fee, only a tip for the driver.

Below is a list of golf cart rental vendors around Pensacola Beach.

Pensacola Pontoon

Visitors can rent one of Pensacola Pontoon’s six-seat golf carts for three to seven days at a time by calling them at 850-602-4551 for bookings.

After booking, Pensacola Pontoon will deliver one of their golf carts with a full tank of gas and pick the cart up at your location when your rental ends. The rates for renting a golf cart from Pensacola Pontoon are below:

• Three days – $599 + tax.
• Four days – $749 + tax
• Five days – $899 + tax.
• Six to Seven days – $999 + tax.

Street Legal Cart Rentals

Beachgoers can choose from Street Legal Cart Rental’s fleet of electric, lithium-battery-powered golf carts to get around Pensacola Beach. Each cart in their fleet also has a Bluetooth audio system and waterproof seats.

Every one of their carts are classified as “street legal” and came in varieties of four, six or eight seats.

Street Legal Cart Rentals offers delivery and pickup for their golf carts, promising delivery by 4 p.m. on the day of delivery and pick up at 9 a.m. on the final day. The times are intended to line up with check-in and check out times of most area vacation rental units. Customers can call 850-407-6654 to request alternate drop-off and pick up times. Customers do not have to be present at the time of pick up.

Delivery is free for customers who rent a golf cart for a period of four days or more. Customers can complete the rental process in person with Street Legal Cart Rentals at 655 Pensacola Beach Blvd.

Street Legal Cart Rentals also began renting their golf carts for daily periods on March 1. The daily rate is $169 per day for a four-seat cart and $199 per day for a six-seat cart.

Customers who rent one of their carts for less than four days will have to pay a delivery fee. People who choose to rent a golf cart for four less than four days should call or text Street Legal Cart Rentals at 850-407-6654 for more details.

You must be a licensed and insured driver who is 21 years or older in order to rent a golf cart from Street Legal Cart Rentals. Visit their website here for more information.

The Fun Store

The Fun Store is a locally owned and operated rental company that has a wide range of options for customers to choose from. Customers must be 22 or older to drive a golf cart rental from The Fun Store.

For their golf cart rentals in particular, The Fun Store offers two choices: four-seat or six-seat golf carts. You can choose to rent either of their options for one, two or four hours but must place a $100 deposit before being able to take the wheels for a spin.

They also have “funny cars” and “scoot coupes” in stock. The Fun Store’s funny cars are essentially golf carts that were given a cosmetic makeover and their scoot coupes are two-seaters with three wheels.

Both options cost the same rate as their regular golf carts.

The Fun Store offers the following rates to rent their golf carts, funny cars and scoot coupes.

Four-seat golf cart

• One hour – $65
• Two hours – $115
• Four hours – $160

Six-seat golf cart

• One hour – $90
• Two hours – $140
• Four hours – $180

The Scooter Hut Rentals

Scooter Hut Rentals offers golf carts with four or six seats that they will deliver to Pensacola Beach customers upon the booking date for no extra cost.

Customers can rent either of the golf cart choices by day, up to six days, or for weekly periods. Scooter Hut is offering a spring break special on its golf cart rentals, knocking off 15% of the rates listed on their website. The listed rates do not include taxes and fees.

Four-seat golf carts

• One day – $195
• Two days – $350
• Three days – $495
• Four days – $620
• Five days – $725
• Six days – $810
• Weekly Rentals – $875 per week

Six-seat golf carts

• One day – $225
• Two days – $410
• Three days – $585
• Four days – $740
• Five days – $875
• Six days – $990
• Weekly Rentals - $1,085 per week

The renter of the golf cart must be at least 22 years of age and possess proof of car insurance. Inquires can be made anytime using the contact page on Scooter Hut’s website or by calling them at 850-530-7342 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Where to Rent Boats and Paddleboards at Pensacola Beach

Coco los watersports.

You can rent kayaks, paddle boards and even snorkeling gear at Coco Los Watersports.

The rental service was established last year and provides free local delivery for all rental equipment. Coco Los Watersports even provides lessons, for an extra fee of $25, to learn kayaking and paddleboarding.

You can rent one of their kayaks for four hours or a full day, which will cost $50 or $70 respectively. Paddleboards can be rented for the same timeframes and rates.

Frisky Mermaid Dolphin Tours & Rentals

Pontoon boats are available to rent for up to a week or as little as four hours at Frisky Mermaid Dolphin Tours & Rentals, located at 715 Pensacola Beach Blvd.

Frisky Mermaid’s boats are refueled before departure and they provide renters with maps, safety gear and instruction on properly using the boat.

A four hour boat rental from the Frisky Mermaid will cost $275 before tax, with prices varying by the customer’s desired time of use. You can book your rental with the Frisky Mermaid online or by calling 850-910-0635.

Key Sailing

You can rent a single or double kayak, pontoon boats and sailboats from Key Sailing at 500 Quietwater Blvd.

Key Sailing’s kayaks are the most budget-friendly boat rental that the business has. Single kayak rentals start at $15 for an hour, cost $65 for a full day, $100 for two days and are $50 for each additional day. A double kayak rental starts at $25, is $90 for a full, $135 for two days and are an extra $60 for each additional day.

Cyberattack Paralyzes the Largest U.S. Health Care Payment System

The hacking shut down the nation’s biggest health care payment system, causing financial chaos that affected a broad spectrum ranging from large hospitals to single-doctor practices.

An urgent care chain in Ohio may be forced to stop paying rent and other bills to cover salaries. In Florida, a cancer center is racing to find money for chemotherapy drugs to avoid delaying critical treatments for its patients. And in Pennsylvania, a primary care doctor is slashing expenses and pooling all of her cash — including her personal bank stash — in the hopes of staying afloat for the next two months.

These are just a few examples of the severe cash squeeze facing medical care providers — from large hospital networks to the smallest of clinics — in the aftermath of a cyberattack two weeks ago that paralyzed the largest U.S. billing and payment system in the country. The attack forced the shutdown of parts of the electronic system operated by Change Healthcare, a sizable unit of UnitedHealth Group, leaving hundreds, if not thousands, of providers without the ability to obtain insurance approval for services ranging from a drug prescription to a mastectomy — or to be paid for those services.

In recent days, the chaotic nature of this sprawling breakdown in daily, often invisible transactions led top lawmakers, powerful hospital industry executives and patient groups to pressure the U.S. government for relief. On Tuesday, the Health and Human Services Department announced that it would take steps to try to alleviate the financial pressures on some of those affected: Hospitals and doctors who receive Medicare reimbursements would mainly benefit from the new measures.

U.S. health officials said they would allow providers to apply to Medicare for accelerated payments, similar to the advanced funding made available during the pandemic, to tide them over. They also urged health insurers to waive or relax the much-criticized rules imposing prior authorization that have become impediments to receiving care. And they recommended that insurers offering private Medicare plans also supply advanced funding.

H.H.S. said it was trying to coordinate efforts to avoid disruptions, but it remained unclear whether these initial government efforts would bridge the gaps left by the still-offline mega-operations of Change Healthcare, which acts as a digital clearinghouse linking doctors, hospitals and pharmacies to insurers. It handles as many as one of every three patient records in the country.

The hospital industry was critical of the response, describing the measures as inadequate.

Beyond the news of the damage caused by another health care cyberattack, the shutdown of parts of Change Healthcare cast renewed attention on the consolidation of medical companies, doctors’ groups and other entities under UnitedHealth Group. The acquisition of Change by United in a $13 billion deal in 2022 was initially challenged by federal prosecutors but went through after the government lost its case.

So far, United has not provided any timetable for reconnecting this critical network. “Patient care is our top priority, and we have multiple workarounds to ensure people have access to the medications and the care they need,” United said in an update on its website .

But on March 1, a bitcoin address connected to the alleged hackers, a group known as AlphV or BlackCat, received a $22 million transaction that some security firms say was probably a ransom payment made by United to the group, according to a news article in Wired . United declined to comment, as did the security firm that initially spotted the payment.

Still, the prolonged effects of the attack have once again exposed the vast interconnected webs of electronic health information and the vulnerability of patient data. Change handles some 15 billion transactions a year.

The shutdown of some of Change’s operations has severed its digital role connecting providers with insurers in submitting bills and receiving payments. That has delayed tens of millions of dollars in insurance payments to providers. Pharmacies were initially unable to fill many patients’ medications because they could not verify their insurance, and providers have amassed large sums of unpaid claims in the two weeks since the cyberattack occurred.

“It absolutely highlights the fragility of our health care system,” said Ryan S. Higgins, a lawyer for McDermott Will & Emery who advises health care organizations on cybersecurity. The same entity that was said to be responsible for the cyberattack on Colonial Pipeline, a pipeline from Texas to New York that carried 45 percent of the East Coast’s fuel supplies, in 2021 is thought to be behind the Change assault. “They have historically targeted critical infrastructure,” he said.

In the initial days after the attack on Feb. 21, pharmacies were the first to struggle with filling prescriptions when they could not verify a person’s insurance coverage. In some cases, patients could not get medicine or vaccinations unless they paid in cash. But they have apparently resolved these snags by turning to other companies or developing workarounds.

“Almost two weeks in now, the operational crisis is done and is pretty much over,” said Patrick Berryman, a senior vice president for the National Community Pharmacists Association.

But with the shutdown growing longer, doctors, hospitals and other providers are wrestling with paying expenses because the steady revenue streams from private insurers, Medicare and Medicaid are simply not flowing in.

Arlington Urgent Care, a chain of five urgent care centers around Columbus, Ohio, has about $650,000 in unpaid insurance reimbursements. Worried about cash, the chain’s owners are weighing how to pay bills — including rent and other expenses. They’ve taken lines of credit from banks and used their personal savings to set aside enough money to pay employees for about two months, said Molly Fulton, the chief operating officer.

“This is worse than when Covid hit because even though we didn’t get paid for a while then either, at least we knew there was going to be a fix,” Ms. Fulton said. “Here, there is just no end in sight. I have no idea when Change is going to come back up.”

The hospital industry has labeled the infiltration of Change “the most significant cyberattack on the U.S. health care system in American history,” and urged the federal government and United to provide emergency funding. The American Hospital Association, a trade group, has been sharply critical of United’s efforts so far and the latest initiative that offered a loan program.

“It falls far short of plugging the gaping holes in funding,” Richard J. Pollack, the trade group’s president, said on Monday in a letter to Dirk McMahon, the president of United.

“We need real solutions — not programs that sound good when they are announced but are fundamentally inadequate when you read the fine print,” Mr. Pollack said.

The loan program has not been well received out in the country.

Diana Holmes, a therapist in Attleboro, Mass., received an offer from Optum to lend her $20 a week when she says she has been unable to submit roughly $4,000 in claims for her work since Feb. 21. “It’s not like we have reserves,” she said.

She says there has been virtually no communication from Change or the main insurer for her patients, Blue Cross of Massachusetts. “It’s just been maddening,” she said. She has been forced to find a new payment clearinghouse with an upfront fee and a year’s contract. “You’ve had to pivot quickly with no information,” she said.

Blue Cross said it was working with providers to find different workarounds.

Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute in Gainesville resorted to new contracts with two competing clearinghouses because it spends $300 million a month on chemotherapy and other drugs for patients whose treatments cannot be delayed.

“We don’t have that sort of money sitting around in a bank,” said Dr. Lucio Gordan, the institute’s president. “We’re not sure how we’re going to retrieve or collect the double expenses we’re going to have by having multiple clearinghouses.”

Dr. Christine Meyer, who owns and operates a primary care practice with 20 clinicians in Exton, Pa., west of Philadelphia, has piled “hundreds and hundreds” of pages of Medicare claims in a FedEx box and sent them to the agency. Dr. Meyer said she was weighing how to conserve cash by cutting expenses, such as possibly reducing the supply of vaccines the clinic has on hand. She said if she pulled together all of her cash and her line of credit, her practice could survive for about two and a half months.

Through Optum’s temporary funding assistance program, Dr. Meyer said she received a loan of $4,000, compared with the roughly half-million dollars she typically submits through Change. “That is less than 1 percent of my monthly claims and, adding insult to injury, the notice came with this big red font that said, you have to pay all of this back when this is resolved,” Dr. Meyer said. “It is all a joke.”

The hospital industry has been pushing Medicare officials and lawmakers to address the situation by freeing up cash to hospitals. Senator Chuck Schumer, Democrat of New York and the chamber’s majority leader, wrote a letter on Friday, urging federal health officials to make accelerated payments available. “The longer this disruption persists, the more difficult it will be for hospitals to continue to provide comprehensive health care services to patients,” he said.

In a statement, Senator Schumer said he was pleased by the H.H.S. announcement because it “will get cash flowing to providers as our health care system continues to reel from this cyberattack.” He added, “The work cannot stop until all affected providers have sufficient financial stability to weather this storm and continue serving their patients.”

The Government today defended paying failed asylum seekers thousands of pounds to move to Rwanda as a 'good use of public money'.

Ministers have struck a new agreement with Kigali to operate a 'voluntary' scheme for migrants in Britain to move to the east African country.

The deal is separate to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak 's stalled plans to deport Channel migrants to Rwanda to have their asylum claims processed there.

Instead, the new scheme is designed to remove migrants who have no legal right to stay in Britain but cannot be returned to their home country.

Kevin Hollinrake, a business minister, insisted offering migrants up to £3,000 to move to Rwanda would be 'a good use of public money'.

He also denied it would undermine the separate proposals to deport migrants to Rwanda, which have become bogged down in legal challenges.

According to Numbeo, an online cost of living database, £3,000 would be enough to pay for a year's rent for a one-bedroom apartment in outer Kigali.

It would also be more worth around 14 times the average monthly salary, after tax, in the Rwanda capital, the website stated.

A meal at an 'inexpensive' restaurant in Kigali is said by Numbeo to cost £2.81, a beer 91p, a cappuccino £1.69, and a litre of petrol 98p.

Mr Hollinrake told Times Radio this morning: '£3,000, is a lot of money, but it costs a lot more money than that to keep people in this country who are out here without merit.

'It's about saying to people, if you come here, you can't stay here if you come here illegally. That's the point.

'So I don't think anybody would try and come here just to get £3,000 to go to Rwanda.'

The new scheme will be aimed at individuals who do not have an outstanding asylum claim and are in a position to be relocated swiftly to Rwanda, which the Government deems a safe third nation.

The agreement is an extension of the existing Home Office voluntary returns process, under which migrants are offered financial assistance worth up to £3,000 to leave the UK for their country of origin.

It would be the first scheme of its kind because it would mark the first time migrants were paid to leave the UK without going back to their country of origin.

A Home Office spokesperson said: 'In the last year, 19,000 people were removed voluntarily from the UK and this is an important part of our efforts to tackle illegal migration.

'We are exploring voluntary relocations for those who have no right to be here, to Rwanda, who stand ready to accept people who wish to rebuild their lives and cannot stay in the UK.

'This is in addition to our Safety of Rwanda Bill and Treaty which, when passed, will ensure people who come to the UK illegally are removed to Rwanda.'

The Government believes the voluntary scheme can be brought into effect quickly because it will draw on existing structures outlined by the agreement already in place with Rwanda and existing voluntary returns processes.

Labour accused ministers of 'resorting to paying people' to go Rwanda upon realising their deportation scheme 'has no chance of succeeding.'

Shadow immigration minister Stephen Kinnock MP said: 'We know from the treaty that capacity in Rwanda is very limited, so ministers should now explain what this new idea means for the scheme as it was originally conceived, and they should also make clear how many people they expect to send on this basis, and what the cost will be.

'There have been so many confused briefings around the Rwanda policy that the public will be forgiven for treating this latest wheeze with a degree of scepticism.

'It seems that the Home Secretary is trying to find a way out of this hare-brained scheme that he himself has described as 'batshit'.'

The PM is currently facing a battle with the House of Lords over his 'emergency' laws to get the Rwanda deportation scheme up-and-running - nearly two years after it was announced with no migrants having yet been sent to the country.

The Government suffered 10 defeats in the unelected upper chamber on its Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Bill, which was introduced as a means of getting around last year's Supreme Court ruling that the deportation scheme was 'unlawful'.

It sets the stage for an extended stand-off between the House of Commons and Lords during 'ping-pong', where legislation is batted between the two Houses until agreement is reached, which is expected to take place next week.

Lucky charms, bar crawls, family-friendly St. Patrick's Day celebrations and more are in store this weekend in metro Detroit. You can even discover the art of tapping maple trees for sap .

Here are five things to do for the weekend of March 15-17.

Easter Bunny, Petting Farm, St. Patrick’s Day

Families can celebrate St. Paddy at an outdoor festival in Rochester Hills on Sunday. It promises to be an afternoon of fun with music, outdoor lawn games and green beer.

In addition, the Easter Bunny will be attendance to visit with kiddies and distribute treats, and a petting farm will include baby chicks, baby goats and ducks.

Noon-6 p.m. Sunday. Easter fun continues on the weekends of March 23-24 and March 29-30. Easter Bunny and petting farm visits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Village of Rochester Hills, 104 N. Adams Road in Rochester Hills.

Novi Boat Show

More than 100 exhibitors will be showing boats for everything from skiing and fishing to cruising at the annual Novi Boat Show. Visitors can view or purchase boats and accessories, and take in some fun and entertainment.

• Join the Farmington Hills Nature Center team Sunday for sessions on tapping maple trees for sap, a tradition known as “sugaring.” Visitors will learn everything from tree identification to details on the tapping process and sap collection. Choose from three one-hour sessions starting at noon, 2 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. at Heritage Park, 24915 Farmington Road in Farmington Hills. $7 per person. Register at the Heritage Park website.
• The 60-piece Farmington Concert Band will present “Pure Michigan, a Musical Postcard,” a tribute concert showcasing music by four composers with ties to the state, at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Hawk Community Center, 29995 W. Twelve Mile Road in Farmington Hills. Admission is $15, $5 students.
