DIY Sailboat Ornaments

Christmas/New Years · Coastal Christmas · Coastal Decor · Crafts · DIY · Tutorial

For the past few years I’ve enjoyed making a coastal ornament for my  coastal Christmas tree. This year I went with a more nautical vibe for the kids’ turquoise and red tree in their playroom and I made some cute DIY Sailboat Ornaments !  They remind me of the ships in bottles and they are easier to make than they look!

DIY Sailboat Ornaments

To make the Sailboat Ornaments you will need the following items:

(Amazon affiliate links provided for your shopping convenience)

  • (6) Glass Ball Oraments 3 inch
  • 1 bag Crushed Shells in an Opalescent Mix of Blue Shades
  • Bamboo Skewers, 6-inch
  • Small Clear Elastic Rubber Bands  (or orthodontic bands used for braces)
  • a piece of white cardstock or printer paper

diy sailboat ornament

Step 2) Now grab 2 tiny rubber bands. I used my kids’ leftover bands from their braces! You can also find small elastic bands in the beauty section of any store, but braces bands work best. Slide one band over the 2 skewers exactly as pictured below.

Sailboat Ornaments Step 2

Step 5) Let go and the boat base will pop into a horizontal position, which should be perpendicular to the mast.

Sailboat ornaments step 5

Step 6) Cut out a paper triangle sail out of card stock or printer paper. Feel free to color it if desired. Place a small amount of hot glue to the back of the mast and glue the sail to it.

Sailboat Ornaments Step 6

Step 7) Fill the bottom of your ornament with the crushed shells (Don’t add too much at first. You can always add more later). The reason why I used 3 inch glass ornaments vs. larger ones, is because these shells will make your ornament heavy!

Step 8) Twist the “boat” skewer so it is aligned with the mast (like in step 4) and start inserting it into the ornament opening. It will pop back in place as soon as it clears the opening.

Gently bend and tuck the paper sail so it will fit into the opening. Hold the top of the mast with your needle nose pliers or tweezers and insert the sailboat into the shells, pushing all the way to the bottom or until the “boat” part is sitting on top of the shells (water).  The shells should hold it in place. Use the pliers to adjust the position.

Smartypants! They look great, and you’re brilliant for figuring that out. The entire tree is perfect – the colors are fabulous. Nauticus and some of the other local museums should hire you to decorate their trees!

How to Make Driftwood Sailboat Ornaments

As you all know, we love decorating for the holidays in a coastal style!  I’m so excited to be sharing my little handmade ornament with you today, I shared it the other week over at Jenn’s blog, Clean and Scentisble , as part of her Trim the Tree Party!   I made a driftwood sailboat ornament:

Driftwood boat on Nautical Console Table

We’re always walking the beaches search for treasures and we LOVE finding driftwood.

You should see my basement, it is filled with furniture to be painted and driftwood!

– Drill holes into the base (which will become the boat), you want to make it big enough to fit another stick (which will become the mast).

Drilling holes

Dab a little Titebond in the holes.

Gluing driftwood boats

Tie twine to the top of the mast.  This will become your hanger. Make sure you have enough so it will fit over your branch.

Cut nautical charts into triangles to look like sails. Glue on with hot glue!

I love the look of these driftwood ornaments! Beautiful, simple, and rustic! Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas!

Where do you find your driftwood? I would love to make these for my wedding!

Danielle Driscoll

Hi Amanda, I collect it on our beaches but you could probably use ghost wood which you can get at a craft store or online. Hope that helps!

Make Driftwood Sailboat Ornaments

How to make very simple driftwood sailboat ornaments for christmas.

These sweet little driftwood sailboat ornaments were really simple and quick to make – literally 5 minutes for each one. And these handmade ornaments are a highlight on the tree but you could also attach them to a wreath or set  them into a lush piece of holiday garland sitting on your mantel.

  •  Find your driftwood bottom pieces.  Mine are from 4-5″ long.  The cutest ones are the pieces that have a rounded bottom edge like a keel.

If you need driftwood pieces, we have driftwood in stock. 2-6″ pieces or 5-12″ pieces .

how to make Christmas Driftwood Sailboat ornaments

2.  I used long think straight pieces for the mast but you could use a wooden dowel.  Then just drill a hole in the main piece to accommodate your mast.

how to make Christmas Driftwood Sailboat ornaments

3.  Before you glue the mast piece into the hole on the boat, you want to drill smaller holes in the top of the mast so you can string and hang the ornaments.

how to make Christmas Driftwood Sailboat ornaments

4.  Attach the mast to the boat using a good glue.  I’m using “Aleene’s Clear Gel Tacky Glue” which sets pretty quick and holds very well.  I’m also using Peel and Stick Fabric Fuse which is one of the most useful tools to have in your crafting kit.  I love this stuff.  And of course, fishing filament to string the ornaments.  You could also use a pretty ribbon.

how to make Christmas Driftwood Sailboat ornaments

5.  Antique lace napkins or handkerchiefs work really well as the actual sail.  I can usually find some vintage linens that work at thrift stores.  I made sure to cut the corners that were already hemmed but you could actually use the Peel and Stick Fabric Fuse to turn under any edges.  For the sale, I cut an uneven triangular shape (longer across the bottom) and  I left the bottom edge unfinished.

how to make Christmas Driftwood Sailboat ornaments

6.  Now just take your Peel and Stick Fabric Fuse and run a piece up the center of the sail and peel off the backing.

how to make Christmas Driftwood Sailboat ornaments

7.  Lay your driftwood mast piece on the fuse glue and press it into the glue.  Then attached the mast to your main boat piece using Aileene’s glue.  Let it dry.  Thread your fishing filament through the top hole on the mast and your done.

Do It Yourself Sailboat Ornaments

Every year I think I’m going to make some cute, crafty, nautical themed ornaments for my Christmas tree. And every year I fail because of time constraints. I’m hoping to make a change this time by persuading my husband to do it for me because he is quite crafty and infinitely more patient.

In any case I thought these sailboat ornaments would be worth the effort and even make nice gifts! The full  Do It Yourself Sailboat Ornaments tutorial from Sand&Sisal follows…and you can purchase the plain glass ornaments and tools at your nearest Michael’s Craft Store.

For the past few years I’ve enjoyed making a coastal ornament for my  coastal Christmas tree. dear little paper mache boat ornament : a free tutorial

free tutorial : dear little boat

Everybody loves to go boating.

I’ve made you something!  A free tutorial for a dear little paper mache boat ornament. The boat is 5 and 1/2 inches long and 6 and1/2 inches high – a very nice size for very nice mice or tiny rag dolls .

tiny rag doll

They are quick and simple to make (really quick! make a bunch) and only require little bits of fabric, cardboard and other things you probably already have.  And the pattern scales up easily – if you’d like to make a larger boat. I think it is helpful to read through all the steps before you begin.

To get started download the dear little boat and sail templates here .

little boat tutorial

* You can click each image for a larger view.

diy sailboat ornament

1. Place the boat template on your cardboard and trace the outline. Mark the fold lines (the dashed lines on the template) in colored pencil. Use the BACK of the exacto knife to lightly score the fold lines. Cut out the template.

2. Gently fold at the scored fold lines.

diy sailboat ornament

3. Bring the front sides and bottom together.

4. Tape over the tabs with masking tape – it’s helpful to tear off several little pieces of tape so they are ready when you need them.

diy sailboat ornament

5. Tape over the outside seams as well.

6. Fold up the back of the boat and tape over the tabs as well as the outside cardboard seams.

diy sailboat ornament

7. Fold the boat bottom flap tabs toward the print side.

8. Fold the bottom flap into the boat and tape over the tabs

diy sailboat ornament

9. Fold the sides over – into the boat.

10. Tape along all the edges. We are ready for paper mache.

paper mache tips: Because the boat is small and our armature is sturdy – one layer of paper mache is enough. If you are making a larger boat use at least two layers. Tear small pieces of newsprint – roughly an inch or smaller – small pieces of paper create a smooth sturdy result- use the smallest pieces for covering corners, tight curves and edges. I like commercially prepared wall paper paste – available at most hardware stores Collect text scraps for embellishing.

diy sailboat ornament

11. Begin with the edges – paint paste onto the boat – apply a piece of paper and paint paste over.

12. After covering the edges fill in the rest of the areas. One layer of paper is enough for a small boat – two will make it even sturdier. If adding a second layer there is no need to wait for the first to dry.

diy sailboat ornament

13. Optional – When the boat is fully covered add text embellishments. allow your boat to dry completely.

14. I like the newsprint to show so I paint lightly with water color and acrylic paint thinned with water.

diy sailboat ornament

15. Pin the sail pattern to a double layer of cotton – right sides together. Stitch as shown – leaving the bottom corner open for turning right side out.

16. Trim off the excess fabric at the corners and turn right side out.

diy sailboat ornament

17. Press the sail – fold in the edges at the opening and stitch closed. I added a whip stitch with contrasting thread all around the edge and several patches.

18. For flags fold a two inch wide strip of fabric in half and press. Cut off 4 or 5 one inch squares. Stitch through the folded side with embroidery thread or string. Leave the ends long.

diy sailboat ornament

19. Glue a wood, spool or bead to the bottom of the boat ( wood glue is best). Apply glue to one end of a wood dowel or skewer cut to 6 inches in length.

20. Insert the glued end into the bead or spool and allow to dry completely

diy sailboat ornament

21. Add lengths of thread or string to each corner of the sail.

22. Use a large needle to poke a whole through the front and back of the boat and tie on buttons.

diy sailboat ornament

23. Make a loop in a piece of thread or string and tie it to your mast – add a little glue to the mast and wind the ends around. knot and trim off the excess.

24. Thread the loop through a wooden bead and glue in place. You could alternatively cover the top of the mast with a little flag.

paper mache boat ornament

Finally to rig the boat tie the sail to the top and bottom of the mast and wind the front string around the front button. Attach the flag string to the mast and buttons.

Wonderful Vivian – such a sweet thing to do for a grandson.

Found the little boat project on Pinterest. As a social worker in Vermont with 7-17 year olds this is a perfect solution to keep the indoor season lively. Thank you for your thoughtful contribution both to our kids and community skills workers.

Thanks so much, you have made my day. Happy the pattern can be useful to you and I hope the kids enjoy it. I have a couple other projects that have been popular with kids and might be useful too :

Thanks again,

Thank you soooooooo much!!!!! so sweet!!!

Thank you for the beautiful little boat pattern. Very kind of you to share it for free.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

I am in the process of making my first little boat, I absolutely love it. My favorite part is making the sails with the little patches. Another nice thing is that the materials are so simple, did not have to go the store to buy stuff. This one is for my great grandson, I’ll make a little treasure chest and put some “loot” in. thank you so much Ann. I appreciate your generosity. Atie from Southern California .

Hi Ann Wood. Your little boat tutorial is wonderful & you’re very generous to share your pattern & instructions. I wouldn’t worry about anyone trying to compete with your talent. You’re very talented & generous. Thank you very much! Kathie

So, I started a dear little boat yesterday (xmas eve) and finished it today. Customied for my future brother in law, who happens to love boats and have a familial connection to the Clark Thread co. How perfect could this be? It was a hit. Thank you! https://flic.kr/p/21N1geG

Thank you for the pattern! You are very generous in sharing them with us! It was quite easy to follow and thus create a beautiful little treasure for a very special Christmas gift. However, I did encounter one slight issue: my mouse’s fit in the boat was much tighter than the one you are showing in your tutorial. I might have stuffed him a bit more perhaps, but luckily he still fits! https://adrispalette.com/2018/01/02/little-mouse-on-a-boat/

Thanks for sharing this pattern. I’ve had so much fun making a little love boat valentine for my sweetie. Thanks for your generosity, which is as inspiring as your work.

Thank you Ann. I have just finished my first ‘dear little boat’ which is sitting on the mantlepiece. I love it. It will go from Australia with my husband to our Grandson in Texas who claimed it when he saw it on FaceTime. Inspired by you I have also used the top part of a takeaway coffee cup as an armature..moulded gently to an oval base. It works well and is perhaps more like Reepicheep’s coracle. Something to redeem the situation when you forgot to take your Keep Cup!

Fran B above introduced me to your beauty-full work. Thank you for your inspiration. I finished my dear little boat and my family, one 64 and the other 25, were delighted with it.

This is “Cartapesta”, not “Papier-MĂąchĂ©”.

“The ‘cartapesta’ is the original term of Italy to name the technique that uses pieces of newspaper cut by hand joined by a glue to form objects, superimposing the layers of paper interlaced with each other and the glue again and again so that when hardening It gives us as a result a much more resistant and stiffer surface, the more layers more rigidity, with a result similar to cardboard. It should be distinguished from papier-mĂąchĂ©, a technique in which the base is pulp or paper pulp to mold the object or shape desired. It is used as a craft to make figures of all kinds, such as masks for carnival or adornment, sculpture]] s, frames, jars, trays, etc. To wrap as a decoration to another object, or to create hardness to fine surfaces of objects. The most ideal glue is the vinyl glue and the best paper is the newspaper because it is very malleable, but other types such as paper napkins can be used, among others.” It is left to dry and at the end with a fine sandpaper the surface is smoothed and later it is decorated with paint and if it is wanted that it has durability in the time a layer of varnish is applied to all this process. (Source: Wikipedia)

Hi RaĂșl, That is inaccurate, the correct definition of papier mache is paper fibers and a binding agent. Techniques using both paper pulp and strips or pieces can be correctly referred to as paper mache.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papier-m%C3%A2ch%C3%A9

And the English translation of Cartapesta is, in fact, paper mache:

DIY Gold Seashell Ornaments for Christmas

September 16, 2019   |   Updated September 10, 2022   |   By Laura   |  3 Comments

**These posts often contain affiliate links. Please see our disclosure policy for details.**

If you’ve ever painted seashells before, you know how a simple coat or two of paint (especially gold spray paint! ) can turn a normal shell into a gorgeous showstopper.

But what happens when you add some hot glue and a piece of string?

You get a fast, easy DIY seashell ornament that is ready for your Christmas tree. (And you’ll want to make a dozen more!)

Here’s how to make seashell ornament crafts from all those shells you’ve saved from vacations but haven’t done anything with yet. You’re going to love it!

DIY Gold Seashell Ornaments for Christmas

How to Make DIY Gold Seashell Ornaments for Christmas

Step 1: gather supplies.

Supplies Needed:

  • Painted Seashells
  • String, twine
  • Hot glue gun and glue
  • Seashell Ornament Checklist (it’s free in the resource library! )

supplies to make large shell ornaments

Step 2: Paint the seashells.

Using the method outlined in this post on how to paint seashells, choose your desired color(s) and paint the shells. (I’m a sucker for gold spray paint! )

Let them dry completely before moving on.

how to paint seashells

Step 3. Cut string or twine into 12″ sections.

Cut sections of string or twine into 12″ pieces.

These will be the hanging loops of your Christmas tree ornaments.

It’s best to err on the side of cutting them long at first, because you can trim them to be shorter later. I’ve found 12″ is a good starting point, and then can be shortened if needed.

Step 4. Fold string in half and tie two loose ends into a knot.

Step 5. hot glue string to shell..

Put a dab of hot glue on the back of the shell.

Carefully put one end of your string into the hot glue and let dry.

Step 6. Repeat for the rest of the shells.

use hot glue gun to glue string to seashell

Step 7. Knot and trim other end of string, assess and hang!

I decided to also knot the string at the other end, and trim off any excess. This way, the ornaments have a visible knot at the top of the hanging string.

(If you want to leave them as is, with just a hanging loop and no knot on top, that’s ok too.)

Once the glue is dry and the string secured, see how they will look when they’re hanging.

At first, the bulky conch shell ornament didn’t hang correctly because of where I glued the string. So, I peeled the glue and string off and re-glued it right up on the backside of the tip of the shell.

This helped it hang upright on the tree.

Seashells are one of those things that make their way home from the beach with you but if you’re not careful, they’ll still be sitting on the shelf in a bag in 10 years. (At least that’s what they did in my house.)

By first painting and turning them into DIY seashell ornaments, the shells are now completely transformed and ready to make a statement on the Christmas tree!

Have you done a completely beach themed Christmas tree? I made foam flip flops, glitter shells, shell angels, a garland of rope knots (could do painted cork buoys), sand-flakes, beach in a bauble, life preservers, surf boards, some driftwood. Such fun. Thanks for the tut.

DIY Driftwood Sailboats

diy, Driftwood Sailboats

. I’ve been wanting to make driftwood sailboats for quite some time and finally I did it this week
three of them. This craft project has been formulating in my mind for awhile.  I’ve combined bits and pieces of ideas from other driftwood sailboats I’ve seen in magazines, Pinterest, and at some retail stores to make these.  The two steps during the process that took the most time and tested my patience were working with tiny eyelets and eyelet screws.  Do not skip these steps because they gave the sailboats a clean finish.  Last thing, there will be no sewing involve in this project.

diy, Driftwood sailboats

The driftwood I used were collected during our recent family trip to the beach at Seabrook, Washington, click here to read more.

Driftwood sailboats

1.    fabric pieces, slightly heavy weight fabric will hold its shape best for the sails 2.    twine 3.    wood glue 4.    stop fabric fraying liquid 5.    glue gun & glue sticks 6.    paper to make sail patterns 7.    eyelet screws, 15/32″ 8.    eyelet tools & 1/8″ eyelets 9.    scissors 10.  two driftwood pieces for the boat and a mast

Instructions

diy, Driftwood Sailboats

step 1.   Drill a hole in the center of the driftwood large enough to accommodate a long stick for the mast.  Squeeze wood glue into the hole and push the stick in it and let dry.

Step 2.    Use a pencil to draw the pattern on paper for the two sails (triangle shape with a right angle – see image below).  Pin the pattern onto the fabric and cut it out.  Apply fabric fraying liquid sparingly along the fabric edges to prevent it from fraying over time.

diy, Driftwood Sailboats

Step 3.   Add eyelets to the corners of the two fabric sails.  Cut a tiny slit close to the corner, push the back side of the eyelet through, turn the fabric over with the back of the eyelet facing up.  To secure the eyelet to the fabric, place the setter over the unfinished end of the eyelet and firmly strike the top of the setter with the hammer two to three times to spread it open.  Remove the setter and firmly strike the eyelet directly two to three times with the hammer to flatten the sides down around the fabric   {o ptional/not required:   use an eyelet finisher on the back of the eyelet to give it a smooth professional finish } .

The instructions to apply eyelets will vary depending on the tools used.  The end result will be similar and it will also help to prevent the fabric from tearing and to keep it’s shape.

The two finished sails with eyelets attached to the corners.

Step 4.   Attach sails to the mast.  Near the top of the wooden stick, leaving enough room to glue a flag on later, screw the eyelet screw into the wood {use a pair of pliers to screw it into the wood if needed} .  Cut a piece of twine about 3-4 inches long, string it through the eyelet on the large sail and the eyelet screw, tie a knot to secure them together.  Repeat the process for the second eyelet screw at the bottom of the wooden stick and the third eyelet screw on the large driftwood near the end.

Attach the other smaller sail to the opposite side of the wooden stick slightly lower down from the other sail { see image below }.  Snip off all the extra loose twine from the knots, leaving about a quarter of an inch, dab a little bit of fabric fraying liquid to the ends of twine to prevent unraveling.

diy, Driftwood Sailboats

The finished sails should spread out nicely across the driftwood.

diy, Driftwood Sailboats

Step 5.   Add decorative flag banner.  Cut 5-7 little triangle flag pieces.  Cut twine long enough to go  from the top of the mast down to the eyelet screw at the end of the large driftwood piece.  Be sure to add about two to four inches of extra twine.

On a flat surface, lay a fabric triangle piece down and line twine along the top edge of the flag, apply hot glue, and roll the top edge of the fabric around twine and hot glue to secure together. Repeat the steps with the rest of the flag banner pieces.

Step 6.  Attach the flag banner to the sailboat.  Thread one end of the flag banner through the top eyelet screw on the mast and make a simple knot on the twine to keep it from slipping out of the eyelet screw hole.  Thread the other end through the eyelet screw on the driftwood and make a simple knot on the twine to secure it in place.

Kay, These turned out great, and your tutorial is excellent. Now the question is where to find driftwood around here. Hmmmm….

I like the light blue and white striped sail the most.

That was the first sailboat I made. The striped fabric I used for the sail came from a pair of pants 🙂

Judith, contact me with a ship to address, I would love to send you some of the extra driftwood I have left.

Kay, I adore your sailboats!!! They are cute and so clean and fresh looking and it’s such a fun idea to use driftwood. We have a sailboat and spend our summers sailing so I’m definitely going to make one {or more} of these. Thanks for the fun idea.

I’m glad you like this craft project Lori. There will be lots of driftwood waiting for you here in the Puget Sound area if you decide to come back and to do a little more sailing this summer.

We’ll be sailing the San Juans next month so I’ll definitely pick up a bag full of driftwood for this fun project.

I love these! I grew up on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, and now that I’m landlocked in Chattanooga, TN and trying to pull off a costal living room, I really miss the ready availability of natural elements we had access to! Lovely work!

Nice to meet you April and glad you had a few minutes to visit and share with us. We try as a family to make a trip out to the Pacific coast once a year, Seabrook Wa. We drove to Forks WA once, that was a loooong drive. I hope your coastal living room is coming along nicely.

Love your little sailboats. Am making my first one now from driftwood I collected at Ocean Shores and Ruby Beach … 🙂

The Northwest beaches have such a nice supply of driftwood to choose from. I hope you had fun making the sailboat Karen.

You have inspired me! Love these boats. I live by Lake Ontario in NY so driftwood is abundant. Off to the lake…..

Hi there! I I’m so in love of these sailboat what type of fabric did you used or any suggestions? Thank you!!

Hi Carmen The fabrics I used were made of cotton with a little bit of weight to them-cotton canvas. The soft blue ticking fabric came from a pair of pants I purchased at the Gap a few years ago in hopes that I might use the fabric to make something.

I hope you have fun making these sailboats!

It’s so beautiful!!! I featured these driftwood sailboats here http://esikfloresik.blogspot.com/2016/08/beach-please-inspiration-board.html xoxo

Love these live in Littlehampton west Sussex united kingdom trying to make some little boats you have inspired me so more beautiful than shop ones

Love them, have not tried them yet but wanted to thank you for sharing instructions.

Hey I’m writing from Pakistan. I loved the whole tutorial and your work is amazing I was wondering if you can give another tutorial on how to make driftwood tiny houses! How do you shape drift wood into fine shapes I have always wondered I would really appreciate your response. Waiting for it! Love, Khizra

I love these! I was wondering if these would float? I live with a lake in my back yard. During the winter I thought it would be nice to see the sailboats floating next to our dock. I thought I would attach a sailboat to a fishing line attached to a large rock but thought it might flip over. Has anyone tried floating them?

Love these! Thank you for sharing!!

I love these sailboats! Would love it if you sold them

Loved the sailboats am going to make some for my nieces babies first birthday. Where is the best place to purchase the driftwood

Piękne, piękne, piękne … 🙂 Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful … 🙂

I love your sailboats. I live in the CA desert 6 months out of the year so the wood I collect for my sailboats is a bit more gnarled but still beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

How to Find the Best Sailboat Ornaments

Finding the perfect sailboat ornament might be a tough task. You do not want to find something that looks cheaply made, as you want the person receiving it to be thankful for the gift.

There are a few ways to narrow down your searches if you take the time to research your results. Below are some tips to consider when you are contemplating a sailboat ornament purchase.

Price Point

You do not have to pay an arm and a leg to get the best sailboat ornament out there. Having a budget will likely be the best bet for narrowing down your results. If this is all you are buying for this person, you may want to spend a little more than just $10.

Most sailboat ornament prices hover around $10 to $20. However, some can easily exceed $100 depending on the materials and what it takes to craft it. This all depends on what you feel comfortable spending.

Specific to Boat

If you are trying to find a sailboat ornament that closely resembles a sailboat that someone has, that could greatly affect the time it takes to locate that ornament. It helps if you know the name of the sailboat and what type it is considered.

Do not be discouraged if you cannot find one that closely resembles the boat in real life. You could also contact a seller to see if they can customize your order to get as close as possible. Adding a personalized touch can make or break the look of the sailboat ornament, especially if you can add the person’s name or something specific such as “Family Christmas 2024”.

Compare Quality

Once you have found the perfect sailboat ornament, you need to compare prices and quality of the service. Looking through customer reviews will help paint a picture of what to expect when you place an order. It may not be worth the trouble if the ornament is prone to breaking or damage after a holiday or two.

You should also factor in the colors and materials that are used to construct these ornaments. If the paint is terrible and the attention to detail is not there, you may want to consider a better quality ornament.

Choosing Decor Instead

If you cannot find the perfect sailboat ornament, you should opt for sailboat or sailing decor instead. The same rules apply to finding one of these, as in you want a good price and quality made product.

Decor is still a great option, as you can find a nautical Christmas tree or something Christmas related with sailing. This way, the person receiving the gift can still show off the decor if they do not have a tree or if the tree is too small to hang a lot of ornaments.
