The new avatar was highlighted with the addition of a massive Jacuzzi on the sun deck and several upgrades to the interior layout.

Who owns the W superyacht?

Businessman and risk-taker David MacNeil started WeatherTech out of his home in Clarendon Hills, Illinois, in 1989. His multimillion-dollar company sold car mats after he was dissatisfied with the quality of existing automotive floor mats. The 55-year-old business owner turned his enterprise into a success by 2018 with $400 million a year in sales, with profits soaring upward of $100 million. He was among the first few to defy the odds by running a company solely based in America and to make a mark splurging $4 million for a 2014 Super Bowl ad. “It was an evolutionary step and an investment in our future in branding the WeatherTech name and getting it out to all of America,” said MacNeil. “And it helped us get across a message that is near and dear to me: the importance of U.S. manufacturing, our industrial infrastructure, using American raw materials, and hiring American workers.”

Beachfront Mansion in Fort Lauderdale Nets Record-Breaking Sale

The $40 million sale has set a new standard for luxury residential real estate in the area..

The Elmes Group Waterfront Estates of Compass, led by Tim Elmes and Melanie Groenendaal, along with Austin Baris, managed to convince the buyer, who was initially set on purchasing a home in Harbor Beach, to reconsider and take a look at the beachfront mansion. They assured the buyer that they would be “blown away” by the property, and the successful businessman did not waste any time visiting the home the next day. After being impressed with everything the mansion offered, he purchased it, further validating the appeal and value of Fort Lauderdale’s luxury real estate market.

The luxurious beachfront mansion at 3052 N. Atlantic Blvd. was sold by David MacNeil, Founder and CEO of the highly acclaimed WeatherTech company. The magnificent residence was designed by Fort Lauderdale-based luxury yacht and residential interior design firm A La Mer, Inc. and was sold fully furnished.

“This sale exemplifies Fort Lauderdale’s thriving real estate market,” Elmes says. “It not only reaffirms the demand for luxury properties but also highlights the attraction of Fort Lauderdale and everything the city has to offer to its residents. Further, it demonstrates the continued strong migration to South Florida, including the ultra-high net worth, no tax, and climate-driven folks.”

The mansion spans over 12,667 square feet and comprises seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms and seven and a half baths. It offers breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean frontage that remains untouched. The property features top-of-the-line finishes tailored to David MacNeil’s specific standards and not built as a spec project. The luxurious finishes and materials throughout the home include Lutron lighting, a Honeywell Smart home system, a hidden housekeeper’s office, a juice bar, a clubroom and bar, a rooftop deck, and a commercial-grade elevator servicing all four floors.

He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. WeatherTech founder buys Wellington estate for $23M

The property spans almost 4 acres

The founder of a car mat empire bought an equestrian estate in Wellington.

David MacNeil, the CEO of WeatherTech, bought the estate at 13700 Quarter Horse Trail in Wellington for $23.2 million, records show. The property totals 163,476 square feet, equating to a sales price of $141 per square foot.

Elite Equestrian Estates LLC, which lists its address as North Haven, Connecticut, sold the property.

The property includes a main house, caretakers’ quarters, barn, sand arena, and paddocks. The house on the property was built in 2018 and has four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms.

The property was last purchased in 2017 for $12 million, records show. The estate was listed by Carol Sollak of Engel & Völkers Palm Beach & Wellington.

MacNeil started the car floor mat manufacturing company Weathertech, which is based in Bolingbrook, Illinois. He is also an avid car collector and reportedly purchased a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO for $70 million in 2018.

Wellington is considered the winter equestrian capital of the world and is home to the who’s who of power players who have equestrians in the family. The families of billionaires such as Bill Gates , Michael Bloomberg and the late Steve Jobs, as well as celebrities Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen, all have homes in the village.

Last month, Oscar-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones sold his Wellington equestrian estate at 12550 40th Street South for $11 million .
