“Wonderful Food with seaview and breeze” Review of Mawilla Yacht Club Restaurant

Food was marvellous and fresh. Ask the waiter/waitress, their recommendation or what seafood is fresh. They are open for lunch and dinner but better to go during dinner so as to enjoy the sea breeze.

Very disappointed.. Crab meat totally sucks. All deep fried which I personally not my preference 😅 Luckily Satak is nice

The deliciously-prepared seafood we enjoyed was very fresh (it was on display as we entered the restaurant). We had prawns, crayfish, beef, chicken, as well as vegetables. Most dishes had a Malay-Chinese flavoring. There was a nice view of and breeze from the ocean.

Restaurant is located right beside the sea and opening in PM hours ( around 18:00). Usually is fully booked and need to come early if you wish to get a seat - specaily if you want to seat on terrace where you can admire beautiful sunset while eatind excellent fresh seq food which you choose straight from small wookden boat lying infornt of restaurant ( which is of course part of it). I would recommend red snaper, king prawns, grouper, or their local prawns - called "satak". The only thing which is a bit oldish is furniture ( tables and seats are plastic). if i would owned such a restaurant on place like this one- I would definitely renovate it on a higher level of confort.

Good value seafood such as the seven star garoupa, and great location by the seaside. Recommend to sit outside when there's a good sea breeze during evenings.

Seafood lover is a must. Love sea breeze this is the place. Combine both, a perfect seafood restaurant. Superb and very relaxing.

Heard lots of good review and recommendations. Came here and ordered prawn, fish, vege and seafood food. Prawn served are pretty small and taste is just OK. Fish taste is OK. Nothing much to brag about. No live fish in tank to be chosen. Will not return if there is better dining place. Paid RM76 for the above dishes, fit for 2 persons.

Another great place to have good and decent seafood. Word of warning. Go early before 6pm or ypu won't get any place to seat as the restaurant is packed almost everyday.

We had both dinner and lunch here. Do not order Chili crab cos its tasted weird. Seafood here is cheap and the view is nice. service can be slow and staff not so friendly. Overall, the food wasn't so bad and cheap. We might come back if we go back to Labuan.

My friends and I went to Labuan on the first day of Hari Raya and most of the restaurants were closed. We went to Labuan to unwind, drink and eat seafood. Luckily, Mawilla was opened on that day. There's nothing special about it, but, if you want a nice sea view and cool air, and dine out with your friends and drink beer, this is a good place. Location is good because it is near to the sea and there is enough parking space. People who want to smoke after eating can do so in this restaurant.

Great food but the toilets are from another time period......great ambiance in the restaurant but avoid having to go to the toilet, food is great and very fresh, they have an army of staff serving mostly excellent food to locals and tourists Very popular with locals for birthdays and company dinners, there is an separate aircon section

The seafood are fresh and tasty but serving is average and bit slow. It is nice scenery eating next to seaside, listening to wave batter to the shore with breeze.

Been there with colleagues for dinner. Fresh seafood and quite tasteful. Served beer and not really suitable for muslim. On top of that, they have a good view and spectacular at night

The seafood was fresh, good variety, cooked efficiently and cheap. The 5 of us ate crab, two types of fish, prawn, 2 types of vegetables, calamari, rice and drinks and it only costs RM250

Had my dinner during my recent visit to Labuan at Mawilla. Overall was an average experience, seafood was ok in terms of freshness, also in terms of taste. The Nestum prawns had too much Nestum, prawns were small. Vege was ok, fish wasn't too bad. Overall was not too impressed, though the location was good as it overlooks the ocean where the ships moor. Quite expensive too.

Overall food are okay, not great but not bad also. Came for lunch and probably its a bad idea, weather was too hot for seafood meal eventhough we were seated indoor. 3 seafood dishes and 1 vege meal would cost around RM100, price is fairly... reasonable. Not sure if we will come back , but if you love seafood and happen to be in Labuan for holiday maybe can give it a try (but not during lunch time) More

Had two large tables for business dinner in the air conditioning section. I had always dined al Fresno by the outside seating over the beach. Always a first. Still preferred al Fresno, great view although it's just some lights from oil field supply boats and... rigs moored offshore the oil and gas supply base. Variety of seafood, sweet and sour promfret, steamed bawal cermin, fried chicken, salt n black pepper lanb, butter milk Prawns, kam hiong sea crabs Chinese lettuces, and salted egg deep fried silver fish. The last the probably only worth mentioning 5 stars of the lot. Service is particularly wanting, needed to remind a few drinks not served after afew dished already served. More

Quite a big place touching seafront & a bit away from downtown. Vey quick service & looks popular joint for big parties. Outdoor area can be windy at times. We ate variety of sea food & the price is a bit extensive but it is... surely worth it. More

We visited mid-week to enjoy some seafood. Despite turning up early being their 2nd customer, with ample staff it still took 3 attempts with different staff to order our 2 beers. I also ordered glasses but only one glass arrived and only 1 bottle was... opened without leaving an opener for the 2nd bottle. The food was nothing special. We were seated outside on the covered verandah but a storm came and rain was blown in. We moved the table back several times ourselves to stay dry, no staff offered assistance. We asked to move inside but were told it was full and cannot. When we looked inside, it was completely empty with at least 8 tables, presumably reserved? When I asked to speak to the manager to complain, all fingers pointed elsewhere at cross purposes. More

I’ve written good reviews about this restaurant and in fact had recommended it to friends. Today I need to share my latest experience: We came and occupied an unreserved table. Usually a waiter or waitress would immediately attend to our table to take order. But... surprisingly that evening nobody came. I rose and came to the place where fresh fish is stored and tried to call a waiter/waitress but nobody came. Tried the payment counter but can’ get attention too. Spoke to a waitress to call the captain to take our order, no response. So after sitting down for some time, we decided to move out and went to another restaurant where we were welcomed and our food order taken. More

A great place to eat with a nice view which is a plus. Seafood are fresh and choices of menu are superb!

One of the places I bring my friends to. Try the salted egg silver fish, Nyonya style fried fish, dried chilli Satak, belacan sting ray. It's usually packed from 7pm to 9pm, so try to call to make reservations. You can even order first and... have your food served when you arrive. More

If you looking for crab. This is NOT the place. They selling dead crab and not live crab. Many dead crabs even lost their legs. Not sure how many days the dead crabs have been lying there. Ikan tiga rasa - OK Fried silver fish... - nice Belacan kangkung - nice Salted egg calamari - nice Butter pramn - ok Fried rice - not good More

We were recommended to visit this place. It is located by the sea and the outdoor seating is large. When you arrive there, they will take you to a place where all the seafood is exposed for you to choose from. There is plenty of... choices and it looks fresh, all sitting in ice. The food was truly excellent and I will go back on my next trip to Labuan. We had huge prawns, a fish and some vegetable plus some beer all for less than RM120. Amazingly reasonable and tasty. More

We spent 2 nights on Labuan recently, ate at Mawilla on our first night and promptly returned on our second. The staff were very friendly and helpful, helping us choose from the fresh fish displayed on an ice-bed at the restaurant's entrance. There was also... a variety of cooking methods and sauces to choose from. All washed down with a cold beer, while watching the various boats and rigs out at sea. Would definitely return. More

Visited during day time. Found average to other restaurant standard in Labuan. Food - Good Service- Average Staff- Average Would I visit again? - probably The place is not as it says on the tin.May be its lively at evening/night as you can’t see other... rubbish around. More

Actually right on the beach front this excellent seafood restaurant does a fabulous range of delicacies - including the best sawak I've ever tasted...

Enjoyed a lovely meal in a great setting at reasonable prices. Seafood starts at 6pm and there is a large selection.

nice fresh seafood by the beach, cheap beers, enjoy the breeze while having dinner. They also served lunch.

I enjoy the food here. It's cheap, simple and tasty. Reasonably good selection of seafood and quite fresh.
