Everything You Want to Know about Michael Jordan's Yacht

For a lot of people out there, Michael Jordan was the biggest sports star of the 1990s. This is because he led the Chicago Bulls to 3 championship wins from 1991 to 1993, retired from the NBA to play some minor league baseball, and then led the Chicago Bulls to another 3 championships from 1996 to 1998. Summed up, it is no wonder that a lot of people see him as the greatest basketball player of all time, which is something that comes with a huge amount of respect, as shown by nicknames such as Air Jordan.

With that said, it is interesting to note that Jordan seems to have a fair amount of business skill as well. Certainly, he came out of the NBA as a millionaire , seeing as how he made a total of $90 million over the course of his NBA career. However, that served as a springboard and nothing more than that, as shown by what Jordan has managed to make based on the reputation that he built up. For example, Jordan was famous enough that he wound up playing the lead character in the 1996 movie called Space Jam , which might have met with a mixed response from the critics but was nonetheless such a huge success that it became the single most successful basketball movie ever. Furthermore, it is important to note that Jordan still makes tens of millions on Nike royalties on an annual basis because his shoes are still selling to a huge number of fans out there. Finally, Jordan actually became a billionaire in relatively recent times because he purchased the Charlotte Bobcats for $175 million, which is relevant because said franchise has seen a huge upswing to value to something along the lines of $750 million.

As a result, it is safe to say that Jordan has a lot of money to spend in various lavish ways. For example, he has a private jet that has been painted Carolina blue. Furthermore, he has spent more than $12 million building a home in Florida, which was in addition to real estate properties elsewhere. Finally, Jordan owns a yacht called Mr. Terrible, which is well, the exact opposite of what its name sounds like.

What Is There to Know About Michael Jordan's Yacht?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Mr. Terrible is one of the most luxurious yachts that can be found out there on the sea. In total, it measures 154 feet in length, which is enough by most ways of reckoning to make it count as a mega yacht. For those who are curious, mega yachts are essentially private yachts measuring 24 meters or more, which is big enough that they actually need a professional crew on-board. Something that more or less restricts them to a very small group of potential clients, which in turn, means that each example is very much one of a kind with nothing else that is exactly like it.

Of course, mega-yachts being mega-yachts, this means that there is more to it than just its length. For example, one of the reasons for its construction is its use on fishing trips, as shown by the facilities that can be found on-board. Moreover, it is interesting to note that Mr. Terrible actually comes with a fairly powerful underwater camera, meaning that Jordan and his guests can use it to gaze down at what is happening in the waters beneath them.

With that said, Mr. Terrible boasts other ways to support rest and relaxation as well. For example, there is a bar where people can sip their favorite beverages. Furthermore, there is an area for outdoor dining as well as an indoor dining room with an actual chandelier. On top of this, Mr. Terrible boasts a design that has drawn inspiration from Art Deco as well as tropical themes, as shown by the fact that it has incorporated tropical wood into its walls as well as a staircase that has incorporated bubinga, which is a particular kind of hardwood with a rich color that projects an almost palpable presence.

Summed up, Jordan's Mr. Terrible is a remarkable demonstration of the yacht-builder's art because he can afford to pay for the best. Something that stands as a visible reminder of how Jordan has managed to turn his basketball reputation into a net worth that makes him the third wealthiest black person from the United States.

Inside Michael Jordan $80 million super yacht, with photos

Taking a look at the $80 million super yacht of Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls legend and the GOAT to many.

Derick Quinanola

Michael Jordan's super yacht, Michael Jordan, Michael Jordan yacht

There are a ton of perks when you're the richest athlete to ever step foot on Earth. Michael Jordan sold his basketball team for billions, a $29 million mansion that he doesn't mind hasn't been sold for almost a decade, one of the rarest cars in the world … The list goes on.

But one of the most expensive single purchases Jordan ever made with his money to date was on an $80 million yacht named ‘Joy'. What's more, that's not even the only yacht Jordan owns. He also has a $21 million yacht called ‘Mr. Terrible', which is pretty fitting when you compare the two yachts he has to his name.

First acquired by Jordan in 2016, the vessel spans 230 feet in length and outlines at almost 10 feet. Its maximum speed is 16 knots while its cruising speed is 12 knots. He was first spotted cruising with the yacht on his way to the Caribbean island of Saint Barthélemy with some of his closest friends. Lastly, the superstructure is built of Aluminum, the decks are made of Teak wood, and the entire ship is insulated with glass aluminum to accommodate the changing weather and was specially developed by Bannenberg & Rowell Designs.

Amenities inside Michael Jordan's yacht

Michael Jordan named this yacht Joy for a reason. Anything that can bring him or anyone joy can be found inside his yacht. For starters, it comes in five decks, eight cabins, an indoor jacuzzi, a movie theater, a spa, and a stunning dining room. One of the biggest perks of this yacht is the owner's pavilion. This is where you'll find the yacht's penthouse suite, personal office, and a terrace to check out the best views of the ocean.

If you plan to stay active while on the yacht, it has you covered too. It also comes with a gym and an indoor basketball court. After all, what more can you expect from the yacht of one of the greatest basketball players in the world?

When it comes to maintenance, Joy definitely doesn't come cheap. There's a crew of around 19 people onboard the ship 24/7 and costs $800,000 a week to maintain as per Marca . Luckily, this yacht isn't exclusive to Jordan or his friends and family. In fact, anyone can rent Joy for a week. All you'll need is $840,000!

Take a look below at some of the pictures of Michael Jordan's super yacht.

“Michael Jordan bought a yacht for $21 million and named it ‘Mr. Terrible’”: How Bulls legend was urged to purchase his first yacht by wife, Yvette Prieto

Michael Jordan bought his first yacht at a steep price of $21 million and hilariously went on to name it ‘Mr. Terrible’.

Michael Jordan has a net worth that is well over $2.5 billion and has spent that money he’s amassed on a variety of projects. He’s invested in his own steakhouses called ‘Michael Jordan’s Steakhouses’ while also being the co-founder of a waterfront restaurant called 1000 North in South Florida.

Jordan’s done everything from owning a NASCAR team known as the 23XI Racing team to owning an entire NBA franchise that he bought for $150 million and is now worth upwards of $700 million. While he’s made some smart investments like the ones mentioned above, he’s also made several purchases for the sake of luxury, and understandably so.

Michael Jordan purchased a private jet (Gulfstream G550) for himself for a ‘lowly’ $61.5 million that he ended up customizing in 2017 to resemble the elephant print on some of his Air Jordan colorways. Above all else though, the one thing MJ has bought in the past that gets brought up the most is his yacht.

Michael Jordan bought a $21 million yacht and then bought another one.

Michael Jordan first entered the yachting industry by purchasing a yacht that he bought for $21 million. This is quite the hefty fee for a yacht as the average is anywhere between $300000 to $15 million. Of course, this is MJ we’re talking about here.

Funnily enough, Jordan ended up naming this yacht that he bought ‘ Mr. Terrible ’ but this wouldn’t be the end of his journey in terms of buying yachts. He would one-up himself by buying a yacht that was worth $80 million, nearly 4 times the price of his first yacht.

This second yacht of his has everything from a movie theatre to a club to even a basketball court on it. Rightfully so, he nicknamed this yacht of his ‘Joy’.

Michael Jordan’s Yacht Life. Inside the NBA Great’s Multimillion-Dollar Fleet of Yachts

Michael Jordan is enjoying smooth sailing since agreeing to sell his stake in the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets for a reported $3 billion. The former NBA champ has at least three multimillion-dollar yachts — an $80 million yacht called Joy, another yacht called Mr. Terrible worth $21 million, and one named Catch-23.

michael jordan yacht mr terrible

Inside ‘Joy’

Joy measures 230 feet (70 meters) in length. Bannenberg & Rowell Design created Joy, which has a top speed of roughly 16 knots and a cruising speed of about 12 knots.

michael jordan yacht mr terrible

The super yacht, launched in 2016 and purchased by Jordan in 2019, has a total of five decks, each built of teak wood. The owner’s pavilion, which gives a 270-degree view of the ocean and features a chic owner’s lounge for enjoying a luxuriant yet private moment, is one of this opulent ship’s key attractions. The master suite is exquisite, and the bedrooms have mosaic skylights that overlook the ocean. Additionally, there is a stunning owner’s office.

The yacht can accommodate a crew of 19 and roughly 12 passengers. The eight lavish cabins, which are almost as opulent as the master suites, are available for guests to stay in. All of the bathrooms include granite finishes and rainfall showers. To provide visitors with the most memorable experience possible, there are spa rooms equipped with an indoor jacuzzi and sauna. A VIP suite and twin rooms are lavishly provided for on the yacht.

michael jordan yacht mr terrible

And, of course, it has a gym and an indoor basketball court.

To adapt to shifting weather conditions, the ship is built with an aluminum superstructure and glass aluminum insulation.

Among the trips Jordon has taken on the yacht was with some of his closest friends to the Caribbean island of Saint Barthélemy.

Inside ‘Mr. Terrible’

Although it is four times smaller than Joy, Mr. Terrible is also one of the most luxurious ships now cruising the seas, and by most measures, its overall length of 154 feet is sufficient to deem it a super yacht.

michael jordan yacht mr terrible

Mega yachts are essentially private yachts that are 24 meters or larger in length and are so big that a professional crew is necessary to manage them.

Mr. Terrible has an indoor bar, and additionally, there is a space for dining outside as well as a dining area within with a real chandelier. On top of that, Mr. Terrible has a design that was influenced by both Art Deco and tropical themes, as evidenced by the use of tropical wood in its walls and on a staircase made of Bubinga, a tropical African hardwood.

michael jordan yacht mr terrible

It is unclear when Jordan purchased Mr. Terrible.

Inside Catch-23

Jordan also owns a fishing yacht called Catch-23; his Chicago Bulls playing number was 23. The yacht cost $8 million .

Viking Yachts produced the Catch 23 luxury motor boat in 2018.

michael jordan yacht mr terrible

The sport boat has a top speed of 40 knots and a range of more than 500 nautical miles. This magnificent yacht is outfitted with cutting-edge technology and facilities to provide a pleasant and entertaining experience for everybody aboard. The 80-foot yacht’s interior is built for luxury and comfort, with high-end finishes, comfy furniture, and cutting-edge entertainment systems. The boat can easily accommodate up to eight people and a crew of two. In 2020, Catch 23 was used to compete in the Big Rock Fishing Tournament, where Jordan traveled to Morehead City, North Carolina. Jordan competed in the nonprofit event to raise money for local charities.

Inside M’Brace

It is rumored that Jordan also owns a yacht called M’Brace, which is worth $115 million. According to Majorca Daily Bulletin, the yacht was sold in December 2022, allegedly to the basketball legend. The yacht can accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 24.

Basketball superstar Michael Jordan's love of the sea is well-documented, so it's no surprise that he is the owner of an $80 million superyacht named Joy. This 230-foot luxury vessel is modern, spacious, and comes with a full-length basketball court which is an extra touch befitting of a basketball legend like Jordan. This high-end yacht has not been his only maritime purchase in past years. As an avid sports fisherman who has competed in various sports fishing tournaments, he also owns an $8 million fishing yacht dubbed Catch 23 (via CBS ).

Joy was built by the Dutch ship construction company Feadship, which also was responsible for building a superyacht for the late Steve Jobs (via AutoEvolution ). It is powered by twin 1,850-horsepower engines and has an average cruising speed of 12 knots and a maximum speed of 16 knots. The former king of basketball was last seen cruising on Joy in 2019 while on a sailing trip to St. Barts with friends (via The U.S. Sun ).

Joy's interior is sleek and modern

This award-winning luxury boat oozes elegance from all corners. Photos published online show that its design emphasizes natural light and uses glass paneling and large windows all over the ship to achieve this. As a result, guests can enjoy the sublime ocean view from nearly every room on the yacht.

For someone as enterprising as Michael Jordan ( Forbes has estimated his net worth to be $1.7 billion), this vessel has everything a billionaire businessman needs to kick back and relax. It comes with its own bar and a jacuzzi on its main deck. There is also a fully-equipped gym and a full-length basketball court whenever he is ready to take on anyone who wants to challenge him for a pick-up ball game.

By: Fatima Roshni Image credit: The US Sun

Known for his milestone achievements in professional career, NBA legend Michael Jordan created yet another trademark, making his mark among the list of the 400 wealthiest people of U.S.

From having a partnership in the Charlotte Hornets franchise to millions of real estate properties and different business ventures, the 60-year-old has established quite a lifestyle as of today.

While discussing his purchases, Michael Jordan's $80 million luxurious super yacht named 'Joy' however comes into discussion among his several other purchases, including a $21 million yacht.

This boat is estimated to be around $20 million. This yacht has space for 21 people with a gym, theater, jacuzzi, and lounge bar. There are jet skis and other water sports equipment to have a great time in the ocean.

Meanwhile, Michael Jordan was the first NBA billionaire. He owns an enormous mansion in Los Angeles and has private jets, along with a yacht. MJ has named this yacht Mr. Terrible, which is estimated to be worth over $47 million. Notably, this is one of the most luxurious yachts in the world. And it is around 154 feet long.

Michael Jordan Arrives With $80 Million Splash for New Year Celebration at Billionaire-Favorite Caribbean Getaway

F or years St. Bart’s has been the favorite destination of every celebrity during the holidays. This year too, the Caribbean island has seen an influx of famous people for the post-Christmas bash. Michael Jordan is one of those who enjoy throwing it back in sunny St. Bart’s clear waters. Like other billionaires, he arrived in style too.

Celebrity-watchers spotted the MJ daysailer, Joy, anchored in the St. Barts shoreline signalling his presence. He’s not the only one around. Jeff Bezos, Mike Tyson, Jake Paul, Mets owner Steve Cohen, Jennifer Lopez, and also honorary Kardashian Scott Disick were spotted in the island.

Jordan and Joy are the big attractions of St Bart’s this year. The yacht is a 230-foot vessel worth $80 million. Sure it’s nothing compared to Dreamworks titan, David Geffen’s $400 million monstrosity, but it’s still impressive. Other than a 19-person crew, one of the highlights of this boat is is the presence of a basketball court on the deck.

Contrary to popular assumption, Jordan doesn’t own Joy. Indian billionaire, Sameer Gehlaut is the real owner of this yacht and he charters it to the likes of  His Airness for a cool $840,000 a week.

The yacht-lord had the interiors designed by Studio Indigo. It boasts a spa, its own club, trampolines, elevator, games deck, jacuzzi, gym, and more.

Michael Jordan also frequently uses a more humble vessel named ‘Mr Terrible.’ It’s priced at a meager $21 million. One of his vessels, ‘Catch23,’ finished third in the MidAtlantic Fishing Tournament. But when it comes to jetting off to Saint Barthelemy, he has a clear favorite.

MJ’s little Joy during dire times

MJ has known to buy or charter at least three different yachts. He was first spotted on the decks of Joy when he sailed to St. Bart’s in 2016. He’s since been on the boat sailing around Europe with the likes of Magic Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson.

This year, Jordan was spotted with Catch23 at the White Marlin Open in Maryland. While Catch 23 failed to win this tournament, his NASCAR team, 23XI dropped in ranks. This is also the year he’s completing his $3 billion exit from the Charlotte Hornets ownership group.

Not to be disheartened, MJ is getting over the disappointing year with some R&R aboard Joy with his famous friends in St. Bart’s. Keep your eyes peeled for Air Jordan at any of the New Year’s bashes around the island.

Following his retirement from the courts in 2003 , Jordan dedicated himself to increasing his wealth and, as a result, in 2016 , he acquired the "Joy," a 230-foot-long, 10-foot-wide superyacht.

As the businessman that he is, Jordan has also been able to take advantage of the boat, as he offers it for rent to anyone who can pay $840,000 a week .

Air Jordan: A Peek Inside Michael Jordan's $61 Million Private Jet

Like many of his other fancy and expensive rides, Michael Jordan has dropped $61 million on a private jet too.

Quick Links

From a distance, inside the jet, where’s jordan traveling today.

He's arguably the most famous NBA player of all time and the first billionaire athlete in the world. With more income coming in retirement than ever on the basketball court, Michael Jordan has the luxury of purchasing just about anything he wants.

With a net worth of $2.2 billion, Jordan shattered the concept of endorsement deals in 1984 when Nike agreed to pay him $500,000 per year for five years, but it didn't end there. According to Celebrity Net Worth , Jordan worked with Nike, Gatorade, Wheaties, McDonald's, Coca-Cola, and many other top brand names. He owns several luxurious mansions in Jupiter, FL, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, and Salt Lake City, UT.

The NBA superstar has a $21 million yacht called 'Mr. Terrible', an $80 million yacht called 'Joy' and yet another $80 million private yachts called 'Catch 23'. With a large luxury car collection, multiple real estate investments, and of course, a private jet, Jordan seems to have it all.

The private jet cost the famous ballplayer $62 million, but after undergoing renovations over the years, the price of the plane is probably much higher and is distinctly Jordan – allowing fans to spot it from miles away.

Check out the interior and exterior of Michael Jordan's private plane.

Jordan's Gulfstream G-IV originally sported a powder blue and white wrap in honor of his alma mater, The University of North Carolina, but in 2017, he re-designed the private jet with a grey, white and black elephant print, presumably after his Jordan Brand shoes according to Private Jet Clubs .

If you weren't sure from the print design, the tag number on the plane's engine says N236MJ; his jersey (23), the number of titles he's won (6), and his initials (MJ). On the wing, you can spot the silhouette of a basketball player dunking, similar to the official logo of the NBA.

The private plane has high-caliber Rolls-Royce engines and, according to Article Crib , has a payload permit to go long distances with low fuel consumption. With Jordan's renovations to the jet, it's no longer ordinary and considered one of the top luxury jets due to changes made. In fact, the jet can travel distances of up to 12 hours without stopping.

Not a lot is known about the interior of Jordan's private plane; however, when you're in the air for hours at a time, he certainly wants to travel in style with the best amenities money can buy.

Traveling in top-of-the-line luxury, Jordan's jet has space for 16 people to travel onboard, not including the two required pilots. According to YouTube , the custom airplane includes white leather recliner seating, a dining area for first-class meals, and large windows near every seat. He regularly travels from his home in Florida to the Bahamas according to flight records and isn't shy about swinging by and picking up friends like Tiger Woods , Dennis Rodman, and Scottie Pippen.

In typical Jordan style, the jet contains a bar with the best drinks available. In fact, the couch seating area transforms with a push of a button into the bar furniture needed to serve guests. For those long flights and with time to relax, there's certain to be a stash of cigars – Jordan's favorite. According to ABC News , the luxurious private bedroom includes a large bed, stylish furniture, and a large bathroom.

Jordan made headlines with the Netflix documentary series, The Last Dance , which focuses on his time with the Chicago Bulls, but today, Jordan lives in Jupiter, FL, with his wife, Yvette Prieto, and their two daughters, Victoria and Ysabel Jordan. He's the owner of the Charlotte Hornet's basketball team and frequently travels to North Carolina on business.

Jordan travels the world in style, including former NBA players, business partners, family, and friends on the regular trips. His love for golf, basketball, and baseball has prompted Jordan to seek sports venues across the United States and beyond, often picking up a group of friends and jetting off to a new golf course across the country.

When vacationing with his wife and kids, Jordan often uses his private jet to travel to the ocean and board one of the several ultra-luxury yachts he owns and, more often than not, find themselves touring local island destinations and warm, sunny beaches.

With a private jet like the N236MJ, Jordan's ability to do whatever he wants, whenever is convenient, makes those business meetings, vacation destinations, and high-profile NBA events that much more accessible.

Michael Jordan’s Yacht: Everything You Want To Know

Ian Fortey

NBA superstar and arguably the greatest basketball player of all time Michael Jordan retired from the game years ago but still keeps busy doing all kinds of things, including sailing on his yacht . This is no toy, either, as his yacht qualifies as a superyacht and you’ll see why shortly.

Before we get too deep into this it’s worth noting that the yacht we’re covering here may not actually even belong to Michael “Air” Jordan. He chartered it several times and there is a rumor that he purchased it in 2019. But we don’t have 100% confirmation on that so it’s possible this is not Jordan’s yacht at all, just one he really likes. That aside, all of the details about the yacht are still accurate and you’ll see why, even if Jordan didn’t buy this one outright, there’s every reason to understand why he would have, and why he’s chartered it in the past.

What Did Michael Jordan Call His Yacht?

Michael Jordan’s superyacht is called Joy and was launched back in 2016. Of course, that’s just one of his yachts as he actually owns a smaller (but still impressive) sport fishing yacht that he named Catch-23. The name is a clever pun on the familiar saying “Catch-22” and also his jersey number 23 from when he played professional basketball. His fishing yacht cost a cool $8 million so you can imagine what the superyacht Joy must have set him back if he really is the owner. Or you can just read on to find out!

How Much Did Michael Jordan’s Yacht Cost?

Because this yacht is a remarkable, one of a kind vessel, the owner, if it is Jordan, was willing to pay to ensure he got the best of the best. Is it the most expensive yacht in the world? No, not even close. But at $80 million (some sources even say $90 million) it’s definitely no joke. Joy is not a superyacht most people would be able to afford by any means.

How Big is Michael Jordan’s Yacht?

michael jordan yacht mr terrible

According to most reports, Michael Jordan’s yacht clocks in at a very impressive 230 feet. That’s nowhere near the largest yacht in the world but it’s incredibly large nonetheless and more than twice the size of Shaquille O’Neal’s yacht or Tom Brady’s yacht .

How Fast is Michal Jordan’s Yacht?

With a pair of 1,850-horsepower engines,  Joy has a cruising speed of 12 knots. At top speed it can reach 16 knots, making it on par with other yachts of this size in terms of speed. At the size it’s clearly not intended for racing or hitting high speeds.

What’s the Interior of Michael Jordan’s Yacht Like?

michael jordan yacht mr terrible

What’s the one feature you’d absolutely expect to find on the deck of the yacht owned by a basketball legend? Joy has what has been called a full sized basketball court for playing while cruising, so long as the motion of the ocean doesn’t make this too uneven. Guess you’ll have to be careful with those rebounds. To be fair, though, when you look at images and videos it only shows the one hoop so it really looks more like a half court than a full basketball court. Not that there’s a problem with that, it’s certainly more than most yachts have.

In addition, the space is easily converted if guests are in the mood for different sports and you can play volleyball or badminton. Heck, you can even toss a football around, there’s enough room. If it seems like that might take up too much room, don’t worry. The entire yacht has five decks so there’s plenty of room for the rust of the luxury features someone like Michael Jordan might want included.

As you’d expect on a luxury yacht of this size there’s a large beach club at the aft of the vessel with a dive platform and everything you’d expect in your beach club area. However, when the sun goes down this space is easily converted into a club for parties and it’s decked out for just such an occasion. There are video walls, bean bag chairs and a number of video game consoles for having a good time. It also serves as a movie theatre for when you want to gather a group and watch a film. Obviously there’s a large dining room for meals as well.

Obviously, the designers included a fully equipped gym on his yacht as well but unlike some, this is a partially open air gym. That means you can take in views of the ocean and enjoy the fresh air during a workout. Of course, additional health amenities exist as well. There’s a spa, a masseuse, and more plus a crew of 19 to make sure it all runs smoothly. One of those crew members is the private chef as well who is said to have a Michelin star, and as you’d expect the food will be able to meet the luxury of the rest of the boat.

You can travel across the 5 decks either by the spiral staircase or a luxurious glass elevator. This can take you from the gym to quarters where you’ll find seven cabins to accommodate guests. With the VIP you have eight cabins total.

The master suite offers an impressive 270 degree view of the ocean and has a private terrace if you want to go out for a closer look. The owner’s deck is opulent in design and resembles the penthouse of a luxury hotel. It even has his and hers bathrooms so no one needs to fight over who has access to the rain showers. For more private getaways there’s a private office for business meetings and lounge area for dining that are separated from the rest of the vessel.

You’ll also find four double cabins on board plus one twin cabin and finally a VIP stateroom. In total six time NBA champion has room for 12 guests in addition to the crew. All of the rooms are designed and decorated in a slightly different style so that people who come aboard get a chance to pick a room that appeals to their own personality rather than having a generic room that is the same as everyone else’s.

Elsewhere on board you’ll find a full bar for entertaining as well as a glass-sided deck jacuzzi for relaxing.

Throughout the yacht’s interior you’ll find ocean mosaics, granite finishes and a lot of other opulent decorative touches that give it the sense of being at a resort.

When it comes to cutting loose and having a good time, the people who designed Joy didn’t skimp there, either. The boat has a number of water toys including jet skis and guests can wake board, water ski, kayak and go scuba diving or snorkeling as well. Several tenders can take you to and from shore or wherever else you may need to go.

If you want to slow it down but still have fun, there are tons of inflatables that can be taken out and even a giant waterslide. If things get out of hand and someone gets in trouble don’t worry, Joy even has a rescue boat.

Is Michael Jordan’s Yacht Kept at a Caribbean Island?

Much of the reason people believe that Jordan owns Joy is because he was spotted there at the Caribbean island of St. Barts with the yacht back in 2019. Most of the pics you will find online that show Jordan on the yacht are from this time period and this is where speculation that he purchased the yacht came from.

The Bottom Line

Joy is a luxury superyacht that costs as much as $80 or even $90 million. There’s a rumor that Michael Jordan is the owner of the yacht, and as the first billionaire athlete it’s not hard to believe, but it’s worth noting you can head to a number of yacht charter sites right now and charter this specific yacht for $700,000 per week. Would Michael Jordan let his private yacht be rented out for charters? You can decide that for yourself. Many other sites on the internet are convinced Jordan owns it but we’re not so sure just yet.

Regardless of who owns it, this massive 230 foot vessel has a basketball court on deck that can be converted for other sports or just whatever activities you feel like. There is a huge selection of water toys, space for parties, room for 12 guests, a jacuzzi, a swimming pool, a cinema and a master suite with an incredible 270 degree view of the ocean.

With a top speed of 16 knots and all the features you’d expect from a luxury hotel provided by a staff of 19, whether or not this is owned by Michael Jordan or just enjoyed by the Bulls legend, it’s easy to see why it’s such a highly prized vessel.
