On board Golden Yachts' 85m superyacht O'Ptasia

O’Ptasia, the 85 metre former flagship from Golden Yachts, wows charterers with her quiet comfort and beautiful beach club

“She was booked for charter before even leaving the shed, just based off the renderings,” said Paris Dragnis of the 85-metre Golden Yachts O’Ptasia .

Standing on the quay at the yacht’s home marina in Athens, the chairman and founder of Golden Yachts gazed admiringly up at his new yacht. At 2,350GT, she was the largest boat to emerge from the Greek yard at the time (having now been eclipsed by the 95m O'Pari .) And she set a new standard among her Golden Yachts siblings for amenities and technical innovations to maximise guest comfort on board.

Golden Yachts’ business model is distinct from most yards'. Rather than building a yacht with a client in mind, or even on speculation hoping to lure the right owner, new yachts go directly into the charter market, managed by Golden Yachts’ sister company, the brokerage house Atalanta Golden Yachts. These spend at least a few years chartering before being put up for sale, with Dragnis also taking this time to use the boat himself – as a means to both enjoy his creation and gain insights on improvements for the following iterations.

In this sense, Dragnis very much wears the hat of owner during the build process, dreaming up the brief and working hand-in-hand with Italian designer Giorgio Vafiadis of Studio Vafiadis . Their first Golden Yachts project was 42-metre O’Pari , launched in 1997 by Intermarine but refitted by the nascent Greek yard in 2006. Studio Vafiadis masterminded the interior design of the refit.

“Yachting was my hobby and then it became my business,” said Dragnis. “And I still love it.” Before venturing into yacht building, his business was cargo ships and tankers. And in a former life, in his early 20s, Dragnis worked on boats himself. His business card still brandishes the title “Captain” and the crew refer to him as such when he’s on board. These days, though, he is quite content to leave the helm to O’Ptasia’s actual skipper, Nikos Demertzis, who said that the full-displacement yacht handles exceptionally well in rough seas.

From seafarer to shipping magnate to yacht owner, this varied maritime history has helped inform the construction process of Golden Yachts. The shipping background in particular has surely helped the engineering advancements found on O’Ptasia . Guest comfort was paramount to the brief, and as such additional sound dampening was required.

“My wish is to build a boat that when it’s running you hear nothing at all,” Dragnis said. The precise goal was to improve noise insulation by 35 per cent compared with O’Ptasia’s predecessor, O’Pari 3 . “I like the quietness of the upper saloon,” said Vafiadis, to this point.

Vafiadis, along with his son Stefano, styled O’Ptasia’s interior and exterior as well as configuring the layout. He has penned 11 out of Golden Yachts’ 13-strong fleet, creating a familial inheritance of flowing looks, soft lines and a style that endures. Balance, fluidity and light are all Vafiadis keywords.

“Looking at the profile, you can recognise a certain fluidity, like water moving in slow motion and then shaping well-balanced volumes,” he said. “It’s a continuation of a style in the Golden Yachts family. When you make a successful design for a brand, it’s normal to maintain such design concepts. We designed all of the Golden Yachts new builds having that same idea in mind.” In order to create an elegant exterior on a larger scale with O’Ptasia , Vafiadis played with the contrast between volumes and recesses, “by pulling the volumes out in opposition to the recesses absorbed by the dark”.

The tastes of Dragnis and Vafiadis are balanced inside. “I like light colours and Giorgio likes dark woods, so it’s always a matter of finding a compromise,” Dragnis said. Fittingly, the interior has a blend of dark woods paired with a light colour palette that is intended to evoke a sense of calm. There is a range of woods, from a porous lati to glossy ebony. “The inspiration for the interior was quiet, calm and relaxing,” said Vafiadis. “We kept the surfaces clean, and there isn’t a lot of clutter or accessories.”

The interior decor is modern, with clean, crisp lines and eye-catching details. Ebony cabinetry is inlaid with stainless-steel details. A rippled line in the cabinets breaks up the expanse of joinery in the saloon, drawing the eyes up and out to views beyond the picture-box windows. The main saloon is a grand space, one large open-plan room with two separate seating areas containing white leather sofas, black coffee tables and glass lamps. A dining area is set at the forward end of the saloon, and the ebony dining table is centred with backlit, honey-toned onyx.

Air-conditioning units, supplied by Dometic, are hidden in columns, and they are whisper-quiet, with air dispersed through the shelved ceilings. This not only hides the potential eyesore of vents but also creates dramatic height, especially in the main saloon – and the next yacht in build is slated to have ceilings that are 20 centimetres higher still. The upper deck saloon is a more casual place for lounging or watching films, with low-slung grey sofas, a bar and games table.

The guest cabins feature eucalyptus walls and grey joinery. The space is allocated well in the suites, and most cabins have walk-in wardrobes. Bathrooms have a Greek flavour: some are decorated in Pentelikon marble, which was used in the construction of the Parthenon in Athens (it is ideal for en suites as it doesn’t absorb water); other bathrooms feature a green marble found on the Aegean island of Tinos.

The plentiful cabins – she can accommodate up to 22 people – are numbered rather than named, which gives a bit of an impersonal impression. But this could be easily remedied by a new owner. Otherwise, Vafiadis manages to keep a yacht that’s built for holidaying from feeling like a cruise ship. “The key is to use warm colours and create interesting and dynamic spaces with a logical flow. It’s very important for guests to easily move around the yacht,” he said. “Merging interior and exterior spaces wherever possible also elevates the feeling of the yacht.” There are three entry points for guests, whether arriving by tender or helicopter on the touch-and-go helipad, and the general arrangement is well planned for ease of guest and crew flow.

The art on board O’Ptasia is a feast for the eyes. Pop art, mosaics and textured pieces that tempt you to touch them adorn the hallways and guest cabins, adding heaps of personality. The pièce de résistance is the light installation in the lift, a glowing purple triangle that beckons you into the dimly lit space and makes riding even one floor an experience.

There is a second lift on board that’s hidden from view, dedicated for crew use. Similarly, the magnificent staircase – a set of glowing onyx steps in a jet-black stairwell – is backed by a crew staircase on the opposite side. While the two staircases allow crew to move about with ease and without being seen by guests, this is intended for charter clients rather than for Dragnis himself. “The crew is like family – I like to see them move up in the ranks; it’s the shipping mentality in me,” he said.

Charter guests’ preferences inform many of the design decisions. For example, a twin cabin being placed next to the master suite helps those guests who want to have their children or a chosen assistant close at hand. “I learned from the chartering side of the business that people want a big swim platform and beach clubs with all the amenities,” said Dragnis. Here, O’Ptasia does not disappoint. The massive beach club boasts a curved bar, hammam, massage room, sauna and plenty of space for soaking up the sun before sliding into the water. For those who prefer freshwater, there is a pool set aft on the bridge deck. A dedicated gym also enjoys pride of place – and outstanding views – on this deck. Guests could work up a sweat before slipping into the pool moments later.

When it comes to building boats, Greeks are better known for their shipbuilding than their yacht-building. Greece doesn’t have a proven reputation for quality in this realm, something of which Dragnis is aware, and he is seeking to change that. Most Golden Yachts suppliers hail from afar, he said. The interiors are built in Italy, the lift is by a German company, electronics are from America. But he likes to employ Greek workers in the build, up to 400 when running at full capacity. “I want to support my own country and people,” said Dragnis. The yard runs two shifts so they can build yachts quickly. There is also a refit and repair division. This combination of global yachtbuilding expertise and quick-moving Greek labour allows the yard to keep costs down. “Our price is competitive, but we are not low-budget,” he said.

“If you’re not in a rush, you can sell it well to the right people,” said Dragnis. “We had three serious buyers for O’Ptasia before she was launched, but we already had charter bookings lined up.” The first charter clients who were able to enjoy O’Ptasia just after she was delivered in June 2018 reported back their delight, commenting on the beach club and styling. But the best feedback, Dragnis said, concerned comfort levels. “Some customers said that when they were on board, it was so quiet they didn’t even realise she was moving at all.”

MY OPtasia Superyacht Stories 1200x800

One of the largest yachts available for charter and featuring an award-winning design by Studio Vafiadis, it’s certainly not hard to see why.

Made for charter from day one, O’Ptasia comes with an outdoor cinema, a spacious gym and a huge beach club complete with hammam, massage room and sauna.

Up to 12 guests are accommodated onboard across 10 spacious cabins. The owner’s suite is a particular highlight and spans 85 square metres with private panoramic views. Just as impressive is the 95 square metre VIP cabin, located on the main deck, as well as four double cabins and one twin cabin on the main deck.

MY OPtasia Superyacht Stories 1200x800 21

The Captain

Captain Vangelis Berdos commenced his ocean career more than two decades ago on board motor tankers before completing a captain stint on the Hellenic Navy’s Ferry Ios. He has extensive experience helming M/Ys Sapphire and O’Neiro and running M/Y Suncoco for eight years. Trilingual in English, Greek and German, Captain Vangelis prides himself on ensuring that your every need and desire is met while on board and in his charge. His interests include martial arts, kart racing, sailing and watersports.

The Experience

The experience of O’Ptasia revolves around the finer things in life. A touch-and-go helipad ensures seamless adventures at sea, while there’s plenty to enjoy on board. She comes fully equipped with a host of exciting water toys, including a custom 9.75 metre limo tender, 6 metre Novurainia catamaran, an 8 metre Chris Craft tender and a range of personal watercraft, towables and inflatables for the whole family to enjoy.

MY OPtasia Superyacht Stories 1200x800 20

With O’Ptasia’s crew of 29 having extensively travelled the Mediterranean, you are assured of always dropping anchor in the best spots. “In my opinion,” says the captain, “Greece and the southern coast of Turkey are two of the best cruising destinations in the world. There you can find tranquil bays, natural parks and ancient ruins, all within just a few miles of one another.”

When not enjoying the treasures of the Mediterranean coast, life on board is everything you could want and more. One of O’Ptasia’s highlights is undeniably the vast beach club complete with a bar, oversized seating areas and a full spa experience, including a massage room, sauna and steam room. There’s also a fully-equipped gym and an outdoor cinema for movie nights under the stars.

The Cuisine

Born and raised in Greece, Chef Valentina Argyropoulou studied culinary art in Athens before working in high-end restaurants across Europe. Her signature style is fresh, seasonal, and traditional with a twist. “I prefer cooking with seasonal ingredients to create the perfect dish - I always go to the local markets for fresh products,” she says.

Bringing her Greek heritage into her menus is not just about Mediterranean flavours and fresh ingredients, however. For Chef Argyropoulou, it’s all about creating food with heart and soul. “My mother taught me that through food, you could express your feelings and make people around you happier,” she explains. “Food creates memories. I love the opportunity to meet so many different people and cultures on board and to create these memories through my plates.”

Recalling one of her favourite culinary experiences on board, Chef Argyropoulou describes a dessert to remember. “One of my signature dishes is the Chocolate Sphere filled with chocolate mousse, Caramelia Valrhona, and berries. The hot chocolate is poured over the top, melting the sphere right in front of the guests!”

By Rebecca Bradbury   15 June 2018

The brand new 85m/279ft motor yacht O’PTASIA , the latest launch from Greek shipyard Golden Yachts, has been filmed undertaking sea trials ahead of starting her debut charter season in Greece .

O’PTASIA was delivered from the Golden Yachts yard in Athens back in April, and following her recent sea trials, her arrival onto the charter market is imminent.

At 85 metres, she is the sixth largest yacht to be built in Greece, and possessing a Greek charter licence, she will be the largest yacht available for a Greece yacht charter .

As the video above shows, the new build boasts a sleek and stylish profile, highlighted by a crisp white hull paintjob. Behind both the exterior and interior styling is Studio Vafiadis.

The design firm has worked with Golden Yachts on a number of previous projects, including the 53m/173ft charter yacht O’NEIRO and the 72m/236ft motor yacht ‘Natalina A’, which is no longer available for charter.

Renderings of the interior aboard luxury yacht O’PTASIA reveal a modern design, with a combination of light and rich-hued woods, cream-coloured furnishings and a neutral colour palette. The living areas will all be primed to offer entertaining, dining and relaxation.

Possessing a Greek charter licence, O’PTASIA will be the largest yacht available for charter in the country

A key feature of luxury yacht O’PTASIS will be her capacity to sleep up to 22 guests on a private yacht charter . The accommodation will comprise an expansive master suite, two double cabins and one twin cabin on the upper deck, with a VIP suite, four double cabins and a twin cabin on the main deck.

There will also be a twin cabin on the lower deck, which will double as a hospital cabin.

Other highlights include a beach club with a steam room, massage room, bar and outdoor shower, while on the sundeck there will be a pool and helipad. There is a huge water toy collection for guests to enjoy too.

Golden Yachts is also currently working on the 57m/187ft motor yacht O’MATHILDE , which is similarly scheduled for a summer delivery.

The San José was traveling to Europe with treasures to fund the war of the Spanish succession when it was sunk by the British off the coast of Colombia.

‘Holy grail of shipwrecks’: recovery of 18th-century Spanish ship could begin in April

The San José, sunk in 1708, has been at the center of a dispute over who has rights to the wreck, including $17bn in booty

S ince the Colombian navy discovered the final resting place of the Spanish galleon San José in 2015 , its location has remained a state secret, the wreck – and its precious cargo – left deep under the waters of the Caribbean.

Efforts to conserve the ship and recover its precious cargo have been caught up in a complicated string of international legal disputes , with Colombia, Spain, Bolivian Indigenous groups and a US salvage company laying claim to the wreck, and the gold, silver and emeralds onboard thought to be worth as much as $17bn.

When Colombia tried to auction off part of the bounty to fund the colossal costs of recovering the ship, Unesco and the country’s high courts intervened.

But eight years after the discovery, officials now say they are pushing politics to one side and could begin lifting artefacts from the “holy grail of shipwrecks” as soon as April.

“There has been this persistent view of the galleon as a treasure trove. We want to turn the page on that,” Alhena Caicedo, director of the Colombian Institute of Anthropology and History, said. “We aren’t thinking about treasure. We’re thinking about how to access the historical and archeological information at the site.”

Cannon from the San José.

The San José was returning to Europe with treasures to help fund the war of the Spanish succession when it was sunk by a British squadron in 1708, close to the Caribbean port city of Cartagena.

Historians say the wreck could help reveal much about the Spanish empire at the height of its power – and the shared, overlapping histories of Europe and Latin America.

Eventually, Caicedo’s team hopes to raise the wreck itself, and put it on display in a custom-built museum where visitors will be able to explore “all the secrets of the bottom of the ocean”, she said.

But as the expedition continues to explore the site, the scale and complexity of the challenge is coming into focus.

Few ships like the San José have ever been recovered – and none has ever been salvaged from warm tropical waters.

“This is a huge challenge and it is not a project that has a lot of precedents. In a way, we are pioneers,” said Caicedo.

The closest comparison would probably be to the Mary Rose, the flagship of Henry VIII’s fleet, which sank in 1545 while in battle with the French fleet off the coast of Portsmouth.

That 16th-century wreckage was explored by hundreds of divers – many of whom were volunteers – for a decade before being carefully lifted in 1982. The surviving section of the ship’s hull is now on display in a £35m ($45m) museum .

Contents of the San José shipwreck.

Colombia’s navy has been studying the Mary Rose and other such marine conservation projects to see how it could lift and conserve the 40-metre-long ship and its contents without it all crumbling to dust.

“The San José is a very, very special ship. It’s comparable to the Mary Rose in that it was in action at the peak of Spanish technology and shipbuilding,” said Ann Coats, associate professor in maritime heritage at the University of Portsmouth.

“There are so many questions the San José could help answer!”

The San José’s cargo includes articles of glass, porcelain and leather, and historians hope the haul could inform their understanding of global 18th-century trade networks, Spain’s complex colonial hierarchy and the lives of the 600 souls onboard.

after newsletter promotion

But while the Mary Rose lay in frigid coastal waters, the San José sank in deep, tropical waters which will probably have been cruel to the ship and could make the recovery one of the most costly and complex in history.

“The contents are really varied and we have no idea how the remains will react when they come into contact with oxygen. We don’t even know if it is possible to raise something out of the water,” said Caicedo.

The wreck’s precise location is a state secret to protect the site from looters, but Colombian authorities have revealed that it is 600 metres (2,000ft) below sea level – too far for divers to reach.

The country’s military is currently developing underwater robots that will first photograph, video and map the wreckage before carefully attempting any retrieval.

Exactly how much can be salvaged from the wreck will depend on myriad factors: currents, sea temperature, the type of silt the wreck is submerged in, how the ship’s 60 bronze cannons plunged to the seabed, and even which critters are now living there, says the head of the Mary Rose’s research program, Alex Hildred.

“It was also set on fire,” Hildred says. “Lifting the ship and creating a museum will be really difficult, really expensive and incredibly challenging … And then everyone wants a bit of it. It’s just a nightmare.”

The vessel’s international connections mean that historical research has until now been halted by international litigation over who is its rightful owner.

Although the wreck was found in Colombian waters, Spain has argued that the San José was part of the Spanish fleet and was returning from what was then part of the Spanish empire.

Meanwhile, Sea Search Armada (SSA), a US-based salvage company, has been locked in a legal battle with Colombia, arguing that it located the area in which the San José sank in 1981. SSA has argued that Colombia agreed to split any profits, but in 2011 a US court declared the galleon the property of the Colombian state.

Indigenous communities in Bolivia have also voiced a claim to any possible riches, arguing that their ancestors are likely to have mined the silver and gold used in many of the treasures .

The Colombian ministry of culture says the government has self-funded the first stage of exploration with $7.3m and it will not sell any of the precious artefacts as Unesco pleaded in 2018.

“Money has always driven the story of the San José. The British wanted to capture it to deny money to Spain, then the money onboard drove the archaeological search for the wreck,” said Coats. “Then disputes got in the way of studying the ship. It would be nice if for once money wasn’t driving things and a huge cultural collaboration could take place to study it properly.”

SpaceX’s Starship completes third test flight, its most successful yet

The spacecraft, powered by the world’s most powerful rocket, flew for nearly an hour in space, though it didn’t survive reentry into earth’s atmosphere.

optasia yacht location

SpaceX’s Starship spacecraft made it to space and traveled more than halfway around the world Thursday before coming to a fiery end over the Indian Ocean, in the most successful demonstration to date of the vehicle NASA has chosen to one day land astronauts on the moon.

While the spacecraft did not survive reentry into Earth’s atmosphere, it completed a number of key milestones that were hailed as major steps toward helping SpaceX perfect the art of flying the world’s largest and most powerful rocket.

In addition to a near-perfect launch, the craft flew for nearly an hour after lifting off from SpaceX’s private launch site in South Texas near the Gulf of Mexico at 9:25 a.m. Eastern time. All 33 of the booster’s engines ignited successfully, and after nearly three minutes, the Starship spacecraft separated and began a journey across the globe powered by its six engines.

The mission, SpaceX’s third test flight of the Starship system, was eagerly awaited by NASA, which is investing $4 billion in developing Starship. It intends to use the system to transport astronauts to the moon in the first two human landings since the Apollo era. SpaceX also intends to use the massive vehicle, which stands nearly 400 feet tall, to deploy the next generation of its Starlink internet satellites. Many in the science community are eager to use it to deploy large scientific instruments and telescopes into space.

“Congrats to @SpaceX on a successful test flight!” NASA Administrator Bill Nelson wrote in a post on X . “Starship has soared into the heavens. Together, we are making great strides through Artemis to return humanity to the Moon — then look onward to Mars.”

The vehicle, collectively called Starship, is composed of the Super Heavy booster and a spacecraft that sits on top. The company already has several other rockets under production and hopes to fly again soon, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has said.

On this flight, the rocket achieved a speed of more than 16,000 mph, which would have allowed the spacecraft to enter orbit around Earth. Instead, SpaceX commanded the spacecraft to reenter the atmosphere over the Indian Ocean. After slamming into the thickening atmosphere, it generated heat of about 2,600 degrees Fahrenheit and did not survive. The booster was also lost after it began to tumble as it fell back to Earth over the Gulf of Mexico.

Still, it was the most successful Starship flight by far.

“It’s incredible to see how much further we got this time around,” Dan Huot, a SpaceX spokesman, said during the company’s live broadcast.

“This is just a phenomenal test so far,” SpaceX engineer Siva Bharadvaj said. “Super Heavy is performing beautifully today.”

With each flight, SpaceX has gotten better at flying Starship, learning from each test mission and then using the data that it collects to continue to tweak the vehicle’s hardware, software and ground systems.

“Each of these flight tests continue to be just that: a test,” SpaceX said in a statement before Thursday’s flight. “They aren’t occurring in a lab or on a test stand but are putting flight hardware in a flight environment to maximize learning.”

During the first flight in April 2023, several of the main engines failed during liftoff and more failed as it ascended. The force of the rocket blew up its launchpad and sent debris flying into the Texas shoreline. That triggered a lawsuit from environmentalists, who are concerned about the massive rocket’s impact on the surrounding area.

For the second flight , SpaceX installed a water deluge system to its pad, which dampened the blast, and made upgrades to the rocket’s engines. The vehicle made it through stage separation, and the upper-stage engines fired as well. But as the booster started to ignite 13 of its engines to fly the rocket back to Earth, one engine failed, “quickly cascading to a rapid unscheduled disassembly” — the phrase SpaceX uses to describe the loss of a vehicle. The spacecraft was lost after a leak led to a fire, and its autonomous onboard flight termination system destroyed the vehicle.

After the flight, the Federal Aviation Administration oversaw SpaceX’s investigation and said in February that it had accepted the company’s report. As a result, the FAA required SpaceX to complete 17 corrective actions, which included hardware redesigns, updates to engine-control algorithms and the installation of fire protection measures.

SpaceX said that “upgrades derived from the flight test will debut on the next Starship and Super Heavy vehicles.”

On this mission, SpaceX also tested opening and closing the payload doors through which it would deploy satellites to orbit. And because SpaceX intends to eventually refuel its Starship spacecraft while in orbit, the company also attempted to transfer propellant on this flight from one tank to another.

It was not immediately clear if those tests were successful. “We do still need to do some data review on those,” Bharadvaj said. “So as we get that data back, we’ll be sure to update you on social [media] for how those tests went.”

As the Starship spacecraft began reentering the atmosphere, cameras onboard the spacecraft showed images of the intense heat building up around the vehicle, engulfing it in a fireball. SpaceX had installed terminals for its Starlink internet satellite system on the spacecraft, which allowed for the stunning video to broadcast on its live stream until the heat finally overtook the system.

As expected, communication with the spacecraft was lost as it plunged through the thickening atmosphere. After a few minutes, however, SpaceX said the spacecraft — known as Ship 28 — did not survive reentry.

“We are making the call now that we have lost Ship 28,” he said. The company had hoped to fly the ship all the way to the surface of Indian Ocean, where it was expected to hit hard and explode.

It was unclear where exactly the ship was when the mission ended, but Jonathan McDowell, an astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics who tracks spacecraft, said his analysis showed that it probably was lost about 620 miles southeast of Mauritius over the Indian Ocean.

Still, the flight will give SpaceX engineers lots of information to review that they will use in the next flight.

“The further we could fly, and the more data we could collect, was always the biggest win,” SpaceX engineer Kate Tice said.

What to know about SpaceX’s Starship

The latest: SpaceX’s third test flight of Starship was the most successful so far. It made it to space and traveled more than halfway around the world before coming to a fiery end over the Indian Ocean.

Starship: SpaceX’s massive rocket is the world’s most powerful rocket , a towering two-stage vehicle that NASA intends to use to land astronauts on the moon .

Previous flights: Starship’s first test was hailed as a success , though the landing pad was damaged after the ship exploded . The second test Starship successfully had liftoff, sparing the launch pad, but exploded amid separation from the boosters .

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

Pleasantly surprised, service is good so is the food. Great selection of Fusion food, a mixture of Italian, Japanese, European, Asian etc. A pleasantly nice dining experience, highly recommended, a must try!

Thank you for your feedback and invite you to have lunch or dinner again aboard the ship in an atmosphere of high standards of yacht hospitality.

everything was perfect - the food, the service, the desserts were the best, nice atmosphere and the location - magical

Best food, best view in Moscow. absolutely faultless from arrival to finish. Best risotto i had for many years absolutely perfectly cooked. The view on Ukrainian hotel and the white house by night is amazing

Had to wait for the food for 1.5 hours and then another 20 minutes for the check. Finally called for the manager and he offered... a 10% discount as a compensation. Simply pathetic! The food is mediocre at best. Not bad per se, but one... would expect something better considering the prices. There are many places to eat in area that are much better. Avoid this one at all costs. Hello, Alexander Your comment is extremely important for us, thank you a lot for it. We are terribly sorry for your time that you`ve spent waiting your order and we have already taken actions to improve quality of our service and it would be realy... More

Food is very expensive, very pretentious, doesn't worth that money. Portions are very small. We ordered ravioli and there were 4! Four raviolis! For almost 15 euros. Then we asked to bring us dessert menu but nothing, they didn't even bothered, so we payed and left... without dessert. Very poor service for that price. More

This is a very good restaurant. The food is really good, maybe the best in Moscow. The service is also good. The view from the restaurant is great. The prices are very high.

I often visit this restaurant and must say it’s one of the best in Moscow in terms of quality and service. Staff really try hard to make sure that you are happy and satisfied. Customer service is a huge problem in Moscow but Chaika sets... a great example for others in the industry! Food is delicious and the menu has lots of options for everyone! Atmosphere is great and view is beautiful on the embankment. Special thanks to German & Oleg! More

Thank you for your feedback! Again aboard the yacht restaurant "Chaika" in accordance with the high standards of yacht hospitality.

Highly recommended, great location in the city center of Moscow with a superb atmosphere. Too many menu choices, though all delicious!

Thx a lot for your review! We are looking forward to see you in our restaurants.

Visited this lovely restaurant with a friend of mine. It was relaxingly warm August evening - so the place on the river seemed like a good idea. We came quite early and the restaurant was not full. The hostesses kindly offered several places to sit... and we chose to sit on the sofas. We had some wine, which was good. We struggled a bit when deciding about the food as few options (scallops) were not available. Fish on ice on display did not look very fresh. To be honest it was an unusually hot August and it is probably understandable that some see food options were not available. However, we did manage to order something and sat waiting and looking onto the river. My long-legged friend struggled sitting at the low sofa and the manager noticed that, offering as a very good, proper table beside the open window. It was nice touch and I was very pleased by their polite observations and immediate reaction to solve the problem. Food was quite good and presentation was perfect. Perhaps I can something about the food, but 1 visit is not enough to criticize or make a definitive opinion. Overall, quality place, which of course, does not come cheap. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. More

Good afternoon! Thank you for your detailed feedback! We are looking forward to seeing you again, we are sure that you will be delighted with our dishes!

I've been here several times during two business trip in Moscow. The overall quality for both service and food is absolutely top-notch, plus the location is very unique.

Good location. Nice views. Good choice of food and drinks. European and Asian menu. Nice service. Pricey enough.
