Sailing yacht SINCERITY is a 95ft (29.0m) charter yacht built in 1928, designed by the renowned Baglietto yard of Variazza, Italy. The SINCERITY sailing yacht is a fast and comfortable cruising yacht which is apparent in her sleek yet classic lines.

Unusually modern for her time, S/Y SINCERITY has a cut away forefoot and Bermudan masthead rig making her a fast and easily handled yacht. The yacht features high bull-works and plenty of reserve buoyancy in the bow and stern that keeps her long sweeping decks dryer then almost any comparable yacht.

Not only a thrilling yacht to experience sailing, below deck, the yacht SINCERITY offers comfort and charm taking you back to an era of romance and exquisite craftsmanship. She Boasts rich mahogany paneling inlaid with birds-eye maple, fine furniture, bronze portholes and detailed marquetry and beautiful craftsmanship throughout.

SINCERITY Specifications

The SINCERITY charter yacht is able to accommodate up to 4 guests in 2 cabins including a large master cabin with double bed and small single and a second cabin with small double and a single bed. There is a third cabin with one single bed for a possible fifth (child) guest. All three cabins share one master bathroom.

The classic sailing yacht SINCERITY received an extensive refit 2011. She has a professional crew of 3 and is available for charter in the Caribbean Leeward, Windward and Virgin Islands. She is also available for charter during the summer months in New England.

Yacht Charter Accommodation

Accommodation for 4-5 guests onboard the classic Baglietto yacht SINCERITY consists of three cabins including two double staterooms; the owner’s being unusually large and light. The aft cabin features a double bunk to starboard with a single bunk opposite to port and a personal washbasin recessed in an antique vanity cabinet. The starboard cabin has an 8 ft. single bed (commonly used as a double) to starboard and a single athwartship, and opposite to port is a cozy, hardwood-paneled single stateroom, which with its ample storage space and location at the bottom of the curved staircase, can easily serve as the captain's cabin. There are 2 large opening portholes and a ventilation hatch into the deckhouse.

Classic Sailing Yacht SINCERITY charter brief: SINCERITY (28m / 95’), previously Janua, Ester VII and Mauciau II, is a pre-war (WWII) classic sailing yacht launched by Baglietto shipyard of Varazze in Italy all the way back in 1928. Designed by the owner of the shipyard, naval architect Vincenzo Baglietto she was most recently refitted in 2011/12. Originally, she was designed as a fast and comfortable cruising boat and in the meantime has made noticeable success at the Mediterranean regatta circuit as well as entertained some of the Europe’s jet set including Princess Caroline of Monaco’s Honeymoon. Super Sail Classic Yacht SINCERITY offers accommodation for 5 yacht charter guests in 2 double and 1 single cabins and is always kept in perfect condition. Fully bespoke private yacht charter itineraries usually covering all parts of the East Caribbean including Grenadines, Windward Islands, Leeward archipelago as well as British and US Virgin Islands are offered throughout the year, although the yacht will cruise in Greenland, New England and Florida on some occasions too. About Luxury Sailing Yacht SINCERITY: SY SINCERITY, is a stunningly beautiful classic sailing boat, soon to celebrate her 90 th birhtday (in 2018). Custom made by Engineer Vincenzo Baglietto in his family shipyard next to the beautiful beaches of Varazze, she was initially launched in summer 1928 as Janua on behalf of famous Italiam commodore Andrea Luigi Piccardo of Genoa. Built out of teak on oak construction she remains an exquisite masterpiece from a time when boats were built with love, impressive detailing and master craftsmanship.   As such, she is not only a beautiful classic charter yacht with a stunning interior finished in rich mahogany panelling inlaid with birds-eye maple but also one of the most distinguished luxury vessels from a bygone era of pre-war age of romance, love and best of craftmanships. As a genuine modern classic charter yacht offering relaxing and elegant yacht charter experiences throughout Atlantic ocean, she is now available alongside western coast of Greenland, the ultimate remote sailing area for only the most distinguished yacht charter clientele. With an interior that features finest of furnishings, portholes out of bronze and detailed marquetry you can also rest assured that when retiring from all the sights and sounds of Danish northern territory, you will also be able to retire to surroundings that will take you decades back and allow you to have the best dream of your life. Her unique hull design is providing ideal layout for pleasant motion under regular East Caribbean trade winds and sea swells. 

With half a dozen of sails on board, once you see the yacht you will be taken back to a romantic pre-war time of genuine sailing enthusiasts who used a flying jib (300 sq ft), a jib (500 sq ft), a staysail (500 sq ft), fully battened mainsail (1.100 sq ft), mizzen jib (200 sq ft), mizzen (450 sq ft), mizzen staysail (1,500 sq ft) and asymmetric spinnaker (2,700 sq ft). Where else can you be a guest as well as a sailor at the same time !?  Add to this the fact the yacht featured in the Johnnie Walker Blue Label short film with Jude Law and Giancarlo Giannini featuring in this 2014 published story of a man on a quest for a rare life experience.  Filmed in the BVI's and London, ''The Gentleman's Wager'' says a story about a wager between the two friends  one of who proposes a wager as an opportunity to challenge himself to create an original performance in order to win an experience which otherwise is not available.  As such, SY SINCERITY is a genuine, great cruising classic yacht with a cutaway forefoot and Bermudian masthead rig, high bulwarks and full ends with reserve buyoance in the bow and stern that make her a fast and easily handled yacht with sweeping decks kept dryer then on any comparable yacht. High bulwarks and plenty of reserve buoyancy in the bow and stern keep her long sweeping decks dryer than most comparable yachts. On the other side, her deep keel and as near as makes no difference 100t of displacement keep her steady and comfortable even in adverse sailing conditions.

Accommodation: Luxury Sailing Yacht SINCERITY can accommodate up to 5+1 yacht charter guests in 3 luxuriously appointed en-suite cabins. The guests will have a total of 2 double and 1 single cabin at their disposal. The full beam aft cabin has a large double bed on the starboard side and a single one on the portside, with a private washbasin wrapped up in an antique vanity cabinet in between. The cabin is generous in space and has accents of large overhead skylight providing both air and light down below. The second guest cabin is located starboard and features two large portholes, both of which can be fully opened. This cabin has a small 8ft double bunk to starboard with a single bed athwart ship. This cabin has an intricate ventilation hatch into the deckhouse which provides a regular flow of fresh air. The third cabin is a single bedroom most suitable for a small adult or a teenage child, even though it is a cosy room with plenty of storage space. All three cabins share one master bathroom. All cabins have their own individual air con and audio-video entertainment systems etc.

Super Yacht crew on board of Classic sailing yacht SINCERITY: Captain on board of classic super sail yacht SINCERITY is Peter Jespersen. Peter was brought up in the Middle East and educated in the US and has since spent most of his winters in places with a substantially more temperate climate than where he and his parents come from, namely Scandinavian country of Norway. He started sailing at an early age with his first full-time job as a sailing course instructor and yacht charter agent out of Oslo with his own 65’ classic ketch.  This inevitably evolved into chartering in the Caribbean where for the last 25 years Peter sailed professionally on a wide variety of yachts – both racing, cruising, chartering, delivering or piloting. After two decades in the Caribbean and almost 15 years on board of Sincerity, he greatly enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for these fantastic islands with Greenland being his next big challenge. Chef on board is Meagan Jones who was raised in Massachusetts learning how to sail on an island off the coast of Maine.  She worked as an apprentice to a sail maker after college and continued racing keelboats along the New England coast for several seasons. In 2003 Megan and two friends designed, built and launched Frances , a 74ft traditionally rigged steel windjammer on the waterfront in Portland, Maine. At present, she is the owner of Maine Sailing Adventures and has operated the Frances as a charter vessel out of Portland for 7 summer seasons. Megan developed her culinary skills in New England,   particularly enjoying entertaining yacht charter clients with her locally sourced food and seafood.  She stocks SINCERITY with her own selection of wines from Maine and is happy to cater to anyone’s particular taste and preferences.  In the galley, Megan is assisted by Becky who is our pastry chef.

When you charter SY SINCERITY, you will also meet mate Tom Vandenveyer from Belgiumwho sails a long time and is engineer on board, and stewardess/deckhand Becky Wright who comes from aseafaring family and already as a teenager devoted her life to professional sailing, with her sailing abilities and work ethic putting most guys to shame.

De-Luxe Classic Sailing Yacht SINCERITY charter prices: SINCERITY super yacht charter prices start at 13,500 US$’s per week and then rise to 30,000 US$’s in high season (winter). In some locations VAT can be charged on top and prices can be higher on special days such as NEW YEAR or during special events such as Antigua boat show or racing events such as the Buckets. Special offers, negotiated deals and last minute discounts are available on request.

Luxury motor yacht SINCERITY is fully air conditioned throughout. This is a non-smoking vessel. SINCERITY´s experienced super yacht charter crew of up to 4 including the captain Peter Jespersen of Norway, have a separate head and shower and companionway. Guests may not be allowed to bring pets on-board.

Breakfast Stuffed French Toast. Classic french toast stuffed with whipped cream cheese and strawberries. Topped with blueberry compote and served with bacon.

Lunch Mahi Tacos. Grilled fresh mahi with sweet mango, radish wheels, chipotle crema, and cotija cheese on grilled corn tortillas. Served with grilled corn and jerk-seasoned slaw.

Canapé Watermelon Gazpacho. Chilled soup shooters garnished with prosciutto and cucumber.

Dinner Red Wine Short Ribs. Seared and slow-roasted with a red wine glaze. Served over creamy roasted corn polenta, braised leeks, and topped with tangy pickled cabbage.

Dessert Orange Meringue Pie. Sunny orange filling sits beneath a sturdy cardamom meringue.

Breakfast Veggie Quiche. Broccoli and cheddar set inside flaky puff pastry. Served with homemade granola, fresh fruit, and yogurt.

Lunch Tamarind Pulled Pork. Tender pork tossed with a tamarind-orange barbecue sauce, served on mini hawaiian rolls and topped with pineapple and cilantro. Served with caesar slaw and watermelon-mint salad.

Canapé Cauliflower Frites. Lightly battered and served with saffron aioli.

Dinner Scallops & Calabaza. Seared scallops topped with tomato-bacon chutney. Served over calabaza puree and beurre blanc, with asparagus spears.

Dessert Tropical Crepes. Tropical fruits, like papaya and banana, sit atop delicate crepes and a rich rum butter sauce.

Breakfast Good Morning Galette. A rustic breakfast "pie" with ham, gruyere, sweet apples and thyme. Served with a fresh salad of sprouts, avocado, cucumber, and orange vinaigrette.

Lunch Shrimp BLT Wedge. Grilled shrimp skewers over a hearty iceberg wedge and homemade bleu dressing, bacon, heirloom tomatoes. With roasted new potatoes.

Canapé Beef Skewers. Served with horseradish creme fraiche.

Dinner Lemongrass Creamed Chicken. Chicken breast stuffed with wilted greens and prosciutto. Topped with a lemongrass-basil coconut sauce over green beans and pureed sweet potatoes.

Classic Sail 1928   Classic Sail Yacht Charter Palma de Mallorca – Sail Yacht North Sardinia – was designed by Ing. Vincenzo Baglietto and built in its famous family shipyard in Varazze, Italy. She was launched on august 1928 with the name of JANUA.

In his long life he has sailed in almost all the seas of the world, hosting aboard characters as reals and representatives of the international sailing and attending in the last 30 years the major sailing events for classic yachts. Its history and its cruises are reported on several specialized magazines.

The current name, SINCERITY, dates back to 1970, when the yacht was bought by an US gentleman.

In 2016 Sincerity underwent important work at Arpeca Yard in Viareggio, Italy. Nothing was left to chance, both in the structure and in the endowment of new and modern equipment that allowed to offer safe and comfortable cruises for many years to come.

Now, based in Palma de Mallorca, she is available for charters and events throughout the Western Mediterranean. She can accommodate 5 guests in 2 cabins with 1 toilets. The crew of 4 has separated quarters.

Accommodations: the aft third cabin runs the width of the yacht, has a double bunk to starboard, a single bunk to port and a personal wash basin. The cabin is spacious and accented with a large overhead skylight providing plenty of light and air.

The starboard cabin has two large portholes, both of which can be fully opened. An intricate ventilation hatch into the deckhouse also provides a steady flow of fresh air through the cabin. There is a large 8 foot single bunk to starboard, commonly used as a double, and a single bunk athwart ship. On the port side directly opposite the curved stairs leading down from the deck house is a single cabin with beautiful cabinetry, hanging locker and porthole.

Baglietto sailing yacht Sincerity takes starring role in Johnnie Walker film

A recent promotional film for Johnnie Walker’s premium Blue Label whisky sees Baglietto’s beautiful classic sailing yacht Sincerity take a starring role.

Also starring Hollywood icons Jude Law and Giancarlo Giannini, ‘The Gentleman’s Wager’ opens on the two men enjoying drinks aboard the 28.9 metre yacht’s sun deck while she cruises in the British Virgin Islands .

“I want to buy this boat,” Law says to Giannini who plays the yacht’s owner.

“Built in 1928 by the renowned Baglietto yard in Varazze, Italy. There’s nothing like it anymore, rarer than rare. It’s not for sale,” comes the reply.

The owner, however, seems to be a gambling man and can’t resist Law’s bet that he can win the yacht with a dance. Returning to London, where it becomes evident that he does not know how to dance, Law does everything in his power to produce a spectacle worthy of this stunning vessel.

The result is a chic routine set to classy jazz tune the Madison Time by Smith & Elms and performed by Law (in a tailor-made suit lined in Johnnie Walker-blue silk, of course) alongside a troupe of professional female dancers in vintage-style costumes.

Law is, of course, successful and the film closes with Giannini trying to win back the yacht with the promise of a story – but will it be good enough for him to regain his beloved Baglietto?

To celebrate the film Johnnie Walker has also devised The Gentleman’s Wager – the perfect cocktail for Christmas in the Caribbean . To try it for yourself simply follow the recipe below:

‘Total Disgrace’: Anger, Frustration as Mass Heating Failures Across Russia Leave Thousands in the Cold

P ODOLSK, Moscow region – Residents throughout Russia affected by unprecedented winter heating outages in recent days have expressed their frustration and urged local authorities to restore heating in their homes.

In Podolsk, a town some 30 kilometers south of the capital Moscow, at least 149,000 residents — nearly half of its population — were left without heating when a heating main burst at a nearby private ammunition plant.

“It’s a total disgrace. There is no heating and no hot water. We have to sleep in sleeping bags,” Yuri, a local resident, told The Moscow Times.

“I have no words to describe how bad the situation is," said Yuri, who declined to provide his surname. "We have had no heating for almost six days."

Heating issues have affected residents in the Moscow region, where temperatures have plunged to as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius in the past week, as well as people in the Far East Primorye region , the cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg , Penza , the southern Voronezh and Volgograd regions and more.

In the Tver region, a group of residents filmed an appeal to President Vladimir Putin, saying that they “are freezing from the cold” in the village of Novozavidovsky.

“We're literally being killed by the cold,” a woman in the video said, adding that they have been sending requests to local authorities since September after their houses were connected to a boiler room whose power was reportedly insufficient.

“This is some kind of torture and extermination of the population 100 kilometers from Moscow,” she added.

Residents of the Moscow region town of Elektrostal lit a fire in the street to draw the authorities’ attention to the heating problem.

“It’s impossible to stay in our houses. We're freezing!” a group of women in the video said.

Suffering from subzero temperatures, residents are placing the blame on local authorities and utility services for failing to take necessary precautions and not taking action to resolve the situation.

“We are sending complaints everywhere but no one listens to us. We have portable heaters working in every room, but the temperature inside is still 10 degrees Celsius,” Yelena from Podolsk said.

“There is a clinic and a hospital, as well as kindergartens, where there is no heating. And we have no answers, no assistance, no explanation,” Yelena added.

Podolsk authorities opened temporary heating centers and declared a state of emergency.

Local authorities linked the heating problems to the fact that the town is heated by a boiler plant owned by the Klimovsk Specialized Ammunition Plant, a private ammunition factory and one of the largest weapon cartridge production enterprises in the country.

“The facility is under tight security conditions, which limits our ability to oversee winter preparations,” the Moscow region’s Vice Governor Yevgeny Khromushin said last week. “We were unaware of the problem for nearly a day.”

An unidentified Moscow region official and two senior executives at the plant were arrested on suspicion of providing unsafe services, Russia’s Investigative Committee, which probes major crimes, said in a statement Tuesday.

Investigators said that Podolsk’s deputy mayor was accused of misusing authority by issuing a readiness certificate for the boiler house at the plant.

In the neighboring Tver region, the authorities opened a criminal case over the laundering of over 84 million rubles ($938,993) in heating bills paid by residents, the Astra Telegram channel reported this week, citing unidentified sources. According to investigators, the heads of the local water intake and boiler house misappropriated the heating payments for personal use.

Reacting to the heating failures, Putin on Tuesday asked Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Kurenkov to provide heat and electricity to the affected residents.

The outages appear to be the latest effect of several decades of crumbling infrastructure in Russia which have been linked to endemic corruption and mismanagement.

The overall decay of Russia's municipal infrastructure surpassed 70% in 2022, the pro-Kremlin newspaper Izvestia reported .

According to Sergei Pakhomov, head of the State Duma’s Construction, Housing and Utilities Committee, water pipes that were 90 years old or even older were still in use as recently as two years ago in some cases.

Housing, utilities and communal services are a common source of problems for Russians during the winter.

In St. Petersburg, residents regularly complain about extensive ice coverage on city streets and sidewalks, with many people ending up in the hospital over the years due to slipping and falling accidents.

In the Siberian republic of Khakassia, two villages were left without electricity last month due to apparent issues with outdated communication systems.

In the winter of 2020, five people in the Perm region were killed after a pipe burst.

When asked about the latest heating outages, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov acknowledged the problems and linked them to poor municipal infrastructure, saying that people “had to endure a lot of inconvenience in the cold and without electricity.”

"Despite all the titanic efforts to update all housing and communal services systems, there's still a certain part that remains considerably deteriorated. These programs will continue, but it is impossible to update all pipes and all housing and communal services systems in 10-15 years,” Peskov said.

As for now, residents affected by heating issues appear to lack optimism that the problems will be solved efficiently.

"It's been a week since we've had heating, and the temperature in my apartment is around 11 degrees Celsius,” Podolsk resident Lidiya told The Moscow Times.

“Unfortunately, no one knows when it will be repaired,” she added.

The fuel was supplied to the northernmost town of Russia along the Northern Sea Route.

The first in the history of the power plant refueling, that is, the replacement of spent nuclear fuel with fresh one, is planned to begin before 2024. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. As the only nuclear fuel supplier to Russian NPPs, TVEL supplies fuel for a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, for research reactors in nine countries, as well as for propulsion reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on TVEL fuel. Rosatom Fuel Division is the world’s largest producer of enriched uranium and the leader on the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities.
