LEGAL SERVICES

We check the status of the vessel’s registration, we make sure the ownership is 100% legitimate and the asset is not affected by any financial or legal burdens. We then organize the bill of sale and the change of title on the registration in the country and port of your choice.

CUSTOMS AND TAX ADVICE, CHANGE OF FLAG AND CHARTER LICENSE

Taxation is an important issue when making a rather large investment, especially for exporting goods. Depending on your needs we will provide the best advice regarding VAT regulations and eventual import taxes affecting your new asset, when to choose another flag and eventually changing the registration from private to commercial and applying for a charter license locally.

CERTIFICATION COMPLIANCE FOR CLASS AND CODING

Before a vessel is offered for sale we make sure all the safety equipment certificates are up to date to comply with the YDSA/MCA Coding certificates as well as the Class Certificate when applicable (RINA, Bureau Veritas, ABS, DNV GL, Lloyd’s Register, etc.) We work with YDSA Nominated Surveyors and local representatives of the Classification Societies.

Aside from making sure the vessel is seaworthy and compliant with all safety equipment and certification regulations you may also want to have a Nominated Surveyor assess the state of the boat in terms of technical, functional and cosmetic aspects, signaling possible areas of wear and tear and providing an independent valuation of the asset you wish to buy or sell. We absolutely encourage such a survey when there is any doubt about the condition or the realistic market value of a yacht.

Finding the best insurance policy that suits your needs to secure the highest level of protection for your investment is probably one of the most important details to consider when buying a yacht. We work with the most reliable insurance companies and can help you find the one that suits you best.

I am choosing a Yacht to buy.

This is a big subject. I have been in the industry for almost 30 years. I have acquired lots of knowledge that I am happy to pass on to you. You will make your own decision about what Yacht to buy. I hope the information helps you make the right decision before you buy a Yacht.

Having sailed in many parts of the world, I am a very experienced sailor. I have never crossed an ocean under sail and do not wish to do so.

Before You Buy A Yacht

Ask yourself this question. What sort of sailing am I going to do? You could ask how long a piece of string is, or I haven’t decided yet.

If you are at that point in an adventure to get into boating, this is an excellent place for me to make my first statement.  Let’s start with one of my golden rules.

Never buy a boat that you cannot sell quickly  (unless doing so is part of a master plan). See my post, “ yachts that sell fast”.

A lucky few, who do not need to count the cost of a yacht, may buy a classic yacht, spending thousands, even millions restoring it and perhaps reconstructing a classic yacht using ultra-modern techniques.  I understand that mindset. Sorry, this blog is incomplete for you, but I can chat about such a project.

For the rest of us, a balance of hard-earned cash and a desire to buy the biggest Yacht within a budget will likely be a primary consideration when buying a yacht. In the following posts, I will explain the advantages of different yachts in simple terms. I aim to help you avoid buying the wrong Yacht.

Hull shapes

Ask a schoolboy to draw the shape of a yacht out of the water. He will probably produce a drawing of a  Classic Long Keel Yacht . They have a beautiful shape, solid and solid, but they are expensive to produce.

Leader in digital payments

One of the most obvious reasons that investors will want to scoop up shares of PayPal is because of just how much it dominates the electronic payments industry. PayPal was founded more than two decades ago, so it has a long and successful history of facilitating global commerce.

This is a scaled business, with a presence in more than 200 countries and regions. Total payment volume (TPV) was $1.5 trillion in 2023. That was up 13% over 2022 and more than double the amount in pre-pandemic 2019.

Data from the end of 2022 shows that PayPal was the most widely accepted digital wallet, with a near 80% acceptance rate, at the top 1,500 retailers in North America and Europe. And its Braintree segment, which caters to merchants, has grown TPV at a much faster clip than the rest of the business.

PayPal is clearly a dominant force. As online shopping and other forms of cashless transactions become more popular, the business should benefit from a long-term growth driver.

Competitive advantages

PayPal possesses numerous competitive advantages. This is another important reason buying this stock makes sense right now.

Of course, just because PayPal possesses these advantages doesn't mean it's fully protected from the changing industry landscape. At the end of the day, it's all about making the lives of users easier, with commerce becoming more frictionless over time. There is no shortage of competitors that PayPal has to fend off. But its standing in the industry does deserve some credit.

Cheap valuation

It's certainly discouraging for shareholders to see that PayPal hasn't participated in the market's rally since the start of 2023. Even though the business has continued to post solid financial results, the stock is cheap right now, trading at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of just 12.2.

At that kind of beaten-down valuation, investors might assume that they're getting a subpar business. But based on the factors outlined above, PayPal is better than the average company out there. It also has a strong balance sheet and generates steady free cash flow that management uses to repurchase shares.

Are Nvidia, Tesla Employee Stock Grants Allowing Staff To Buy Yachts — Former AI Chief Says 'Most People Don't HODL'

Andrej Karpathy , former director of AI at EV giant Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA), said on Sunday that a few Tesla employees might be on a yacht right now, thanks to their stock grants , like Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA) employees.

What Happened: Karpathy said that the company has had “very few” true believers of the company working there and taking all employee stock options over a decade. These people did not sell the stock immediately and could now be on a yacht, Karpathy said, while adding that most of these long-term holders, however, are likely awaiting for Tesla to achieve fully autonomous driving with its FSD software before they sell at a premium.

However, many employees do sell, Karpathy acknowledged. “Most people don't HODL…,” Karpathy said. He was responding to Openfounder co-founder JD Ross who reminisced about his roommate who went on to join Nvidia after graduating in 2013. “I wonder which yacht he lives on now,” Ross wrote.

Nvidia Vs. Tesla Growth: Both Nvidia and Tesla provide their employees with stock grants. While Nvidia shares have risen about 1879% over the past five years and over 100,000% since listing in 1999, Tesla shares have jumped 12,679% since listing in 2010. Compared to Nvidia, Tesla’s is a significantly smaller jump. However, Tesla has also had fewer years on the exchange as a listed, public company.

Why It Matters: Musk has often hailed stock grants at Tesla. In March 2022, the company CEO said in an X post that Tesla has made several workers millionaires with stock grants. He attributed it as among the reasons for the company not having witnessed unionization thus far.

However, in December, Bloomberg reported that the EV giant did not offer any merit-based equity awards in 2023 to some of its salaried employees. Tesla employees usually get merit-based stock grants in addition to their existing equity during performance reviews. Whether this is a long-term shift in Tesla’s compensation plan is unknown, the report said.
