The Adriatic enjoys an average of 315 cloudless days a year, and with winds in Croatia generally around 10-20 knots, this can make chartering a sailing yacht a great option to explore the picturesque islands and secluded beaches at your leisure. The winds do tend to get stronger in the fall, so bear this in mind when booking your charter. 

There should be ample sailing yachts, gulets (traditional wooden yachts), and catamarans for charter in Croatia, but we do recommend booking early to secure your perfect yacht and desired itinerary.

Gulets are traditional wooden boats originating from Turkey , but are now widely available throughout Croatia and Greece . These types of boats offer a fantastic and cost-effective alternative to a luxury charter yacht, for those wishing to spend a bit less but still enjoy a fabulous yacht charter in the Mediterranean . 

With so many options available, there’s something to suit every type of budget in Croatia. The average prices for motor yacht and sailing yacht charters in Croatia are as follows;

• For luxury sailing yacht rentals in Croatia, prices can go from $32,363 to $582,882 weekly plus expenses

The optimal times for yacht charters in Croatia’s sapphire-hued waters span from May till October. During this time, you can benefit from calmer seas, reliably clement weather, and warm swimming temperatures. Croatia’s peak season is July and August, so expect both higher charter fees and packed marinas in these months.

We recommend finishing your luxury charter in Split, Croatia's second-largest city and one of the most popular superyacht hotspots on the Adriatic. Renowned for its pristine beaches and crystalline waters, plus with a vibrant mix of things to see and do, you'll be in for a treat.

There are hundreds of harbors, marinas, and ports in Croatia, so whether stopping off in Dubrovnik or sailing to the far side of the Lastovo Archipelago National Park there are sure to be facilities or an anchorage to suit your needs.

There are 56 official marinas along the Croatian coast from Umag to Dubrovnik. Some of out top picks include;

• ACI Marina Dubrovnik – located within a short distance to Dubrovnik’s historic old town. It has 380 slips and can accommodate yachts up to 60m/196ft. For larger yachts, or yachts not requiring a slip, another popular option is to utilize the international cruise ship terminal quay, which is happy to facilitate yacht charter pick-ups and drop-offs.
• ACI Marina Korčula – ideal for a stop off at one of the many island destinations on your yacht charter, we recommend this sheltered marine, which accommodates yachts up to a maximum LOA of 40m/131ft.
• Lumbarda Marina – also on Korčula this marina has slips catering to yachts up to a max length of 25m/82ft.
• ACI Marina Vrboska – located in the celebrated islnad of Hvar, this marina offers berths for yachts up to a max length of 30m/98ft.
• Cavtat Marina – If you're struggling to find a slip in the summer, we recommend this marina, which is located to the south of Dubrovnik and enjoys good shelter from all winds. It offers 119 slips for yachts up to a max LOA of 60m/197ft.

Some of the best ports in Croatia are also located in the Istria region in northern Croatia. We recommend;

• D-Marin Dalmacija – located a few kilometers south of the ancient city of Zadar, which is the largest marina in Croatia with 1,200 berths and can accommodate yachts up to 80m LOA.
• ACI Marina Rovinj – catering for yachts with a LOA of up to 25m/82ft 
• Marina Funtana – max length 20m/65ft. 

For larger berths in the Split-Dalmatia region:

• ACI Marina Split –  located in the heart of Croatia's "jewel" this marina has recently been modernised, offering great shopping, dining, fuelling and repair services to name but a few, alongside 318 protected berths that can accommodate superyachts up to 90m LOA. 
• Marina Kastela – just 7km up the coast from Split – which can accommodate superyachts of up 150m/492ft in length, with a draft of 8m.
• D-Marin Mandalina – located in the city of Šibenik, situated between two National Parks within a protected lagoon, this marina boasts 429 slips, and has also been specially developed to accommodate yachts of up to 140m/459ft LOA.

Some important things to consider before booking your yacht;

• Yachts tend to spend more time at anchor in Croatia, so you need to consider that when choosing your perfect yacht. Ideally, find a yacht that is comfortable with ample leisure and entertainment facilities onboard. 
• Avoid heading into Dubrovnik when the big cruise ships are in town, these vessels can hold some 3,000 passengers and the town can become uncomfortably crowded.
• You should also be aware that certain zones in Croatia's waters forbid fishing or diving, or require special permissions to do so. This is something you can discuss with your yacht broker, or yacht captain when deciding on your itinerary.

There should be a wide selection of yachts to choose from, so there is sure to be something that suits both you and your budget.

Croatian Gulets, traditional wooden yachts with wide beams that offer spacious deck areas and generous accommodation, are a fantastic and cost-effective alternative to a luxury charter yacht. Gulets are available to charter for around €13,500-€15,000 per week, which usually includes food and up to 4 hours cruising per day.

Gulets are also perfect for family charters, or those who simply enjoy spending their time out on deck soaking up the beautiful surroundings of this stunning region.

The perfect time for yacht charters in Croatia is between May to October, with average temperatures in the mid to high 20s, calm sapphire seas and endless days of glorious sunshine.

You should note that Croatia's peak season is in July and August, so expect both higher charter fees and crowded marinas during these months.

Most charters tend to begin in the beautiful historic towns of Dubrovnik or Split before continuing on to the celebrated islands of Hvar, Mljet, Vis and Brač. Alternatively, you can begin in Montenegro in the south, but you should note there may be additional re-positioning fees to pay as most yachts are based out of Split.

Another option is to begin your yacht charter in Venice, Italy then cross the Adriatic to Croatia's breathtaking northern region before cruising down the coast to Zadar or Split.

Once you have decided on your perfect yacht, your yacht broker will then draw up the necessary contract; a legally binding agreement between you and the owner of the yacht. At this point, based on the type of contract, you will be required to pay 50% of the cost of the yacht up front, with an additional 25-30% of this base rate to cover additional expenses you and your guests are expected to incur whilst on charter.

Most of these offers are valid until 31st of December or sometimes even until 31st of January, depending on the boats which you decide to charter. These discounts will only apply when you are paying a 50% of your charter price immediately upon the signing of the contract and other 50% from the 4-6 week before your charter period. We highly recommend you to book your holiday in advance, so you take advantage of our discounts and also because you have a variety of choice among the boats.

Dalmatino – 30.05.-06.06.2022

There isn’t a better way to visit Croatia and experience each of the islands than traveling on Dalmatino. The boat was stunning. The boat crew had the best service I have ever experienced. This trip will be very hard to top. We were directed to the best experiences on each island, food was absolutely delicious and beautiful at the same time. I would highly recommend this yacht and staff to anyone who has the opportunity to travel to Croatia!

I would give a six star as a vacation spot and a 100% satisfying rate. The staff was so helpful and so so nice. Food was over the top in presentation, variety and was delicious. The Captain chose just a perfect route through the islands, the right amount of village time as play time. I would do this trip every year on Dalmatino!

Trip of a lifetime! The boat is gorgeous, the food was amazing, the scenery & water were incredible and the staff-crew….what can I say?! You were friendly, fun, and took the many challenges of our group in stride (covid+,stomach viruses, etc.!) with a smile and a willingness to do what we needed to have an amzing week. (I mean…how many groups requested 5 full dinnera and 5 bowls of plain white rice? 😛 ) It was such a special week for us to spend with our adult children & our friends and it was made even better by the wonderful & attentive service we recived at every turn. I’m not sure we’ll manage to get the whole family over here again, but Jim & I are sure going to try! Thank you again for everything-you all work very hard and it shows and is very much appreciated! From the moment I stepped on this boat I was greated with smiles & genuine care. I have never had an experience such as this where I was treated like I was special. Each and every one of you made this week memorable and I will never forget it. Matea made sure our thunderstorm of a room was always inviting and shared her last hairtie with me so I could enjoy the water. Keke made sure I always had milk with dessert before even asking and kept us all in a good mood. To the chef who gave us a personal tour of the bars so we could experience the true culture. Rocco despite us leasing hi min the beginning made sure to act professional as always. Stipe on our day to the market gave us the submarine tunnel. Last but not leats, the Captain who ensure no matter the weather there was always a plan for fun in place. Overall, I wish I couls stay with you forever and I have never had such a wonderful time. I have no words to explain the marvelous adventure we have sailed with Captain Tom. It has been the upmost pleasure to embark in this journey around the Adriatic Sea with such a wonderful crew. Ivana is super attentive and dedicated to fulfilling the needs of all my fellow travelers who have stepped aboard Captain Tom’s deck. The sights seen could never be converged in the slightest. The sea was magical. The food was amazing. Everyday was a delight to my mouth. We cannot wait to come back next year. Thank you to the entire crew.

Altair – 08.2022

Carefree and a wonderful cruise down the Adriatic Mastercharter was the best Croatian travel agency I have dealt with in the last ten years. Ivana, Mirna and Mate are devout professionals who will tender to your every need. Ask a question and you will get an answer momentarily, if one of them is busy one of the others will respond. No detail is overlooked and everything is done to your satisfaction. They stay true to their motto which says “Everything is possible for one who believes”.

I wanted to charter a gulet for a family cruise and for my particular needs they suggested the Altair which turned out to be the perfect choice. The name Altair is derived from the bright star, aka Alpha Aquilae, which shines as the brightest star in the constellation Aquila the Eagle. It describes this gullet perfectly; it is beautiful, clean and well maintained. The crew is a family run affair; Captain Dare is a capable sailor and a wonderful host. His Dad Duje is a fantastic cook and a Captain in his own right and Dare’s sister Luce (Lucy) is a wonderful hostess and a do everything gal who will attend to your every need. Also there is Lovro, a very capable sailor who makes sure that the boat is securely tied, he will help you with all the heavy lifting, will provide you with the swimming toys once you are in the water and will watch over you while you swim.

The cruise down the Jadran (Adriatic Sea) was absolutely fantastic. We were in and out of secluded coves for swimming in the crystal clear water during the day and visited famous towns like Hvar, Korčula, Polače, Ston and others in the evening. It was a perfect combination of rest, relaxation and sightseeing.

I would like to take this opportnity to thank the crew once more for making me and my family feel like we were a part of their family and for providing us with a carefree, restfull, exciting and wonderfull experience. Special thanks goes out to my new friend Duje Junior (Dare’s son) who made our trip that much more enjoyable, this is from his new friend Brankec.

Corsario – 25 June 2022

We had the Best time in Corsario, aside from the amaizing places and smooth ride, the crew was so warm, dedicated and helpfull. Stand up padlle, water motor rides, snorkeling, biking and awesome more experiences we lived in this boat. Thank to this boat and the crew we could had an inforgivable family time! I hope we can come back and finish our travesy through Croatia. See you soon!!!

Romanca – 18.06.-25.06.2022

Global Rating: 5/5 (Excellent)

We travel often and far, and we have been around the world and had amazing experiences. But our vacation on the Romanca, chartered via MasterCharter, was truly unrivaled! Airline travel these days can be beyond hectic, and our vacation seemed to get off to the wrong start when the airline lost our luggage. Ivana (Mastercharter) and Andrea (owner of the Romanca) arranged a speedboat to take a passenger to get medication that had gone missing with the bags and PERSONALLY tracked our luggage down and had it hand-delivered to the boat as we were eating breakfast under sail. Additionally, a member of our party had a bicycle accident, and Marin (Romanca’s captain) was on location in minutes with the town’s doctor and sat with us through the process of going to the hospital and getting a few stitches, then offered to buy the injured person an ice cream, (because everyone knows when you get stitches, you get an ice cream). Despite our two mishaps, all 15 of our party fell madly in love with Croatia, the Adriatic, MasterCharter, and most specifically the Romanca and its crew. The Romanca is by far the prettiest wooden gullet on the Adriatic; you cannot help but share the pride of her crew as she sails into port. You can tie her up next to the largest, newest ship in any marina, and know you are the one privileged enough to call the Romanca home. Valentina and Mario knew everyone by name on the first morning and never forgot our food or drink preferences — my latte was being made before I could sit at the Romanca’s massive table. Victor is a world class chef and a true artist who goes out of his way to please everyone. He woke up in the middle of the night to feed the three of us who waited for the doctor to finish his work on our patient, and we got a beautiful steak with rice and salad, totally unexpected and above and beyond. Ivan, the first mate, went out with several of our younger “sailors” (as per our request) when they wanted to go to a club at midnight. He watched over us and protected us like family, even at the sacrifice of his night’s sleep. And Marin navigated us through it all, recommending phenomonal wineries, restaurants, and excursions on the islands. I’m not prone to write reviews, or be loquacious, but for this trip, I must! These people are so special and amazing; they find a magical way of outshining the scenery. That said, Croatia and her islands are not to be missed, their beauty is unparalleled and the experience is unmatched. Do yourself a favor, spend a week on the Romanca… just don’t book the weeks we want, we will be back!

IT IS HARD IN LIFE TO BE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO EVER BE ABLE TO BE IN A POSITION TO BE ABLE TO VACATION ON A BOAT SUCH AS ANIMA MARIS. HOWEVER, IT IS EVEN MORE DIFFICULT TO HAVE AN EXPERIENCE THAT EXCEEDS ALL OF YOUR EXPECTATIONS.THIS TRIP WAS BEYOND WHAT WE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. WE HOPED IT WOULD BE THIS WONDERFUL, BUT TO HAVE EACH DAY BE BETTER THAN THE DAY BEFORE HAS TRULY BEEN A DELIGHT. THE BOAT OF COURSE IS A WORK OF ART,A MIX OF MODERN YET STILL ROMANTIC. THE CABINS ARE SO SPACIOUS AND THE BATHROOMS AS WELL.NOVAK’S COOKING WAS SPECTACULAR AS WELL AS ALEXANDER. ANYTHING WE WANTED DELIVERED WHICH AS WE ALL KNOW IS NOT AN EASY THING TO DO. SONIA KEPT OUR CABINS AND LAUNDRY IMPECCABLE AND THE REST OF THE CREW WAS WITH US ON DECK TIME WE NEEDED ANYTHING AT ALL. THE LOADED THE WATER TOY INTO THE SEA EVERYDAY SO OUR KIDS COULD RIDE THE SEABOB FROM MORNING TILL NIGHT. THEY WATCHED CAREFULLY AS THEY FLIPPED OFF THE TOP DECK IN TO THE WATER. CAPTAIN MARIO ALWAYS FOUND US THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BAYS AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, PICKED THE BEST CREW. THEN WE CAME TO VICTORIA WHO ALL DAY, EVERYDAY MADE SURE WE HAD ANY DRINK OR SNACK WE WANTED. Captain Luka was very professional and helpful, his brother Damir and the chef were excellent too. I think the Steward, Ivor was a bit out of his depth as he was really a deck hand that had stood in for a Stewardess from what we learned, and whilst he tried hard, my only recommendation would be that an experienced stewardess would have added polish to the whole drinking and dining experience.

With its hot, sunny days and mild water temperatures, the summer months of July and August are the most popular months for yacht charters in Croatia. Average temperatures range from the mid-to-high 20s °C / 77-86°F, with the potential to get as high as the 30s °C / 80s or 90s°F. Hvar tends to get the most sun – a record 2,700 hours of sun each year – followed by Split, Korcula, and Dubrovnik.

Bringing together the great summer weather with a tad less heat, late May, June and September offer some of Croatia’s best weather. If sailing is your main concern, these months are where you’ll get a chance to experience the westerly “Maestral” wind: a refreshing summer wind that blows in from the sea, typically strongest during the early afternoon. About our Location

Sail in Croatia from our base in Seget, just a 15 min drive from Split airport. Seget is located outside the historic fortress-town of Trogir. You may also sail from Dubrovnik if you wish to explore the south of Croatia or even set sails to Montenegro.

The highest season is from mid-June to mid-September. The shoulder season is a great time to sail as there is usually more wind at this time. Our bases in Croatia are closed from early November until mid-March.

Carefree Pack

Navigare Carefree includes damage waiver insurance/full coverage, welcome package, final cleaning, bed sheets & towels, dinghy, outboard engine & fuel, propane gas, full water tanks, and Wi-Fi.

Yacht Fuel is not included – the fuel tank will be full when your charter starts and you are responsible for topping off the fuel tank at the end of your charter. The price of the Carefree Pack varies by boat size and is a flat fee for bookings up to one week. A surcharge applies for bookings of 2+ weeks.

FREEDOM yacht charter was built in 2019 and since then, she has made countless guests fondly remember the time they spent on this wonderful yacht and the unique atmosphere of the Croatian Adriatic sea.

Her first refit came just in time for her to be ready for the 2022 summer season, with numerous amenities added to her already avid collection of yacht facilities, including an onboard spa centre, a yacht cinema, which doubles as a game room for kids and a fully equipped yacht gym.

The dining room located on the upper deck has enough room to accommodate all guests in a well-appointed and air-conditioned interior. The architecture of the superstructure allows for wide and full-sized windows, which will surely elevate the atmosphere during meals in the upper deck salon, regardless of it being day or night.

Because she was built specifically for cruising in the Croatian Adriatic sea, you will have no problems at all relaxing on her decks, enjoying her amenities or sleeping tight in her wonderfully appointed cabins, because of her sturdiness and stability, both at anchor and underway.

She can take on a maximum of 23 guests, accommodating them in 11 cabins, scattered across three decks of this glorious yacht charter.

There will be a total of 11 crew members that will take care of your every wish and desire, as long as you are on holiday on FREEDOM yacht charter. Since the crew-to-guest ratio is 1:2, expect a more detailed and finer service, reflected in the hospitality experience you will definitely enjoy.

Each cabin on FREEDOM yacht charter is modernly furnished and designed following contemporary interior yacht styles. There are twin and double cabins to choose from and every accommodation has an ensuite, as well as an AC unit, a wardrobe with a safe, a desk with a chair and a big LCD TV.

The type of service on FREEDOM yacht charter is buffet-orientated for breakfast and a family-style service for lunch and dinner. This means that guests can stay close together and enjoy each other`s company while they eat, at the same time letting the crew spend less time delivering food and instead focusing more on the hospitality part of their service

For breakfast, you can expect a wide variety of locally-sourced fruits and vegetables, as well as freshly-made juices. There will also be plenty of sweet and savoury breakfast pastry to choose from, alongside eggs done in several different ways (or made to order).

For lunch, guests can expect dishes similar to fast-fried veal tenderloin with spring greens and a sun-dried tomato salad, poached salmon with brown rice and steam-cooked broccoli or grilled Adriatic sea bass, seasoned with fennel, thyme and sweet peppers. For dessert, a sweet and sour lemon tart with a honey glaze.

Dinner dishes could look like an octopus cooked „under the bell“, with potatoes, peppers and paprika, meatballs over home-made pasta, seasoned with locally made tomato sauce, salt-based and smoked salmon, served over a side of carrot, spinach and cauliflower lasagne, and for dessert – a pistachio cream over hand-made banana ice cream.

Lunch and dinner will consist of several courses and a dessert course while you are onboard FREEDOM yacht charter, with an additional option of tasting dishes in exclusive Croatian restaurants, once FREEDOM makes port.

YACHT MAIN DECK

Since FREEDOM was made to cruise in the Croatian Adriatic, this reflects primarily in her exterior profile and structure. Her stability is achieved by her width, which is possible in the Adriatic, since storms and unfriendly weather starts at the end of autumn.

Her paint job also reflects her Adriatic attitude, with a white coating and several streamlined light blue stripes, personifying her friendly relation to the sea. The first partition on the main deck aft is dedicated to the crew mess and logistics of the yacht itself. Forward from this crew area and guests can enter a huge master cabin.

This central cabin is equipped with a tub, a shower cabin and double sinks, as well as plenty of space in the living quarter, which is modernly designed and contemporary furnished.

Forward still from the central master cabin, there are 5 more cabins – 2 twin cabins and 3 double cabins. This arrangement works great for guests who want more versatility in their choice of sleeping arrangement.

YACHT SUNDECK

The jacuzzi on the sundeck is the epitome of yacht luxury – placed on the aft section of the sundeck, it is surrounded on all sides by pillows and sunbathing cushions, creating an island around the jacuzzi, where guests can chit-chat or sunbathe, while also being able to roll over into the jacuzzi at a moment`s notice.

Our base Veruda is located on the southern tip of Istria in one of the most sheltered bays of the Adriatic, right next to the historic town of Pula. The Marina has all the amenities and a large pool that shortens the time to check-in.

If you start your holiday from our base Veruda, you should definitely make a short detour to Pula at the beginning or end of your journey.

At its southern end, the peninsula of Istria is cut by a seven-kilometer-long bay, in which are again small bays and peninsulas. And here lies Medulin, a lively resort whose mostly sandy seabed only drops off shallowly - ideal for families with children.

In any case you should include the idyllic island of Cres in your trip. A circumnavigation of the island of Cres is well feasible, including the islands of Rab in the east and Krk in the northeast. Driving on the west coast of Cres, the island of Lošinj with the neighboring islands Ilovik, Susak and Unije in the south to southwest and the coast of the Istrian peninsula in the northwest is a nice trip with lots of nature, towns and villages, history and clear water.

• Cres: The place Cres is already worth seeing. The town today is made up of the medieval harbor, many Gothic and Renaissance churches, monasteries, ruins of the city fortress and palaces of aristocratic families. The old town of Cres consists of a dense core of colorful houses, built together and interconnected. Numerous churches and monasteries await you in and around Cres. From an insider tip the small Lubenice, perched on a rock 378 m above the sea, developed to one of the most popular destinations in the area of Cres.
• Osor: The city of Osor is located on the island of Cres right on the narrow navigation channel Kavada, which separates the islands of Cres and Losinj with a swing bridge. From antiquity to the 15th century, Osor, due to its location, was the capital city of Cres and Losinj. For culturally interested people, Osor has a lot to offer in terms of historical sights and buildings.
• Valun and Martinscica: are both very pretty fishing villages. The blue grotto (Plava Grotta) lies on the way between Valun and Martinscica on the bay Zanja.
• Bijar: Bay Bijar is located just northeast of Osor and is suitable for overnight stays, for a short visit to Osor, or for bridging the waiting period until the Osor Canal is opened.

Losinj - Mali Losinj, Veli Losinj

The island of Losinj is a natural paradise full of flowers and pine trees. The two port towns of Mali and Veli Losinj, which are extremely lively in summer, are characterized by the neoclassical style of the Austrians. Numerous villas testify to this period. The mild climate of Losinj attracts many bathers annually. As a result, the landscape is characterized by numerous hotels and guesthouses, parks with palm trees, agaves, huge oleanders and pines.

Ilovik is a small, very quiet island south of Losinj, where the chirping of the cicadas and the seagulls make the music. The narrow channel between Ilovik and the emetery island SV.PETAR is very popular with sailors. The small town around the harbor and the canal with its simple church is full of flowers all the year. Ilovik therefore also has the nickname Flower Island.

The small island of Unje is strikingly green and wildly overgrown with sage, rockrose, laurel, lavender, rosemary and thyme. Especially in spring it smells wonderful. The few inhabitants live in the only town, their houses are aligned circularly towards the sea. Trails lead across the entire island and to the two lighthouses.

Losinj - Mali Losinj, Veli Losinj, Baldarka

The island of Losinj belongs, as Cres, to Kvarner Bay. More than 300 sunny days per year have created not only a subtropical paradise with palm trees, oleander and flowering gardens, but also a holiday paradise for sailors and motorboat riders.

• Mali Losinj: today the largest city and capital of the island, is located in a deep bay. The area surrounding the village is characterized by extensive pine forests that reach to the beaches and coves of crystal clear waters.
• Veli Losinj: Calmer and tranquil is the fishing village of Veli Losinj, only 5 km away. Around the harbor numerous taverns and street cafes invite you to linger and enjoy your summer vacation.
• Baldarka: Baldarka Bay, located between Mali Losinj and Veli Losinj, is also very popular.

The island of Rab is a paradise for sailors with its 30 sandy beaches and many small picturesque bays. Thanks to the crystal clear warm and shallow sea, Rab is an ideal holiday destination for the whole family. The former princely and episcopal city of Rab is a total monument of historical monuments and art monuments. The unique silhouette with its 4 bell towers is a distinctive landmark of Raab. The Marina Rab is located opposite the medieval bustling core of the old town and offers a beautiful view of the city.

The island of Krk is the largest island of Kvarner. Most safe havens and bays are located on the west and south coasts of the island. Between Punat and the southern tip of the island, as well as the southeastern part of the island, there are some secret bays with pebbly beaches and crystal clear waters, mostly for boaters only: Oprna, Zlatna Plaža, Vela Luka and Mala Luka, just to name a few. Nature lovers will find wonderful hiking trails on the island of Krk.

• Punat: The lively harbor town of Punat is one of the most popular destinations for boat owners, sailors and, more recently, wakeboarders. The large marina and the marina of Punat with the numerous boats make it clear that although the water plays the main role, the town itself can also come up with all sorts of attractions. If you are looking for the old Punat, you will find it above the lively promenade with its cafes, shops and restaurants, a tangle of narrow streets, where is a lot to discover.
• Malinska: In the bay of the same name is the nice harbor Malinska. Around the harbor there are good restaurants and cafes as well as a supermarket for the supply.

Opatija was the former summer residence of the Viennese court and has lost nothing of the splendor of bygone times with its splendid buildings. Even today, the renowned seaside resort, thanks to its mild climate, is one of the most important air and spa resorts. A little nostalgic but sophisticated and with a little thrill when playing in the casino, Opatija is perfect for enjoyment and entertainment at the highest level. Relaxation and recreation can be found here in the nice cafes or on a walk on the special 12 km long promenade, the famous Lungomare, along the sea.

Route 5 (1 week)

Rovinj, with its unmistakable cityscape and towering bell tower, is probably the loveliest town in Istria. The colorful houses of the fishing harbour growing in steep alleys and accommodate numerous restaurants, sunny ice cream parlors and well-attended cafes. Historically, Rovinj has a lot of culture to offer. Golden Cape Zlatni RT, the largest botanical garden in Istria, and the many beaches and coves around Rovinj should definitely be included in your trip plan.

Novigrad is located on a small island that was connected to the mainland in the 18th century. Thanks to its sheltered harbor, Novigrad soon became a colony of Greek sailors. Later, the Romans built their fortified town of Civitas Novum here, and from the 6th to the 19th century, Novigrad was an influential episcopal synod. The medieval road network, the old fortress walls and the towers, which once served to defend the town, have been well preserved to this day and make the place a tourist magnet. The modern village offers cosy cafes, restaurants and boutiques, a modern marina, beautiful long gently walks and sloping rocky and pebble beaches.

The Riviera Porec - Vrsar presents itself with pine-lined headlands and blue-green lagoons, with offshore islets and bizarrely rugged cliffs. Porec is a friendly town surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Every night, the extremely interesting old town of Porec is filled with life. All the many historic buildings and churches offer an impressive picture with nocturnal lighting.

National park Brijuni

The lush green, consisting of 14 shallow islands and islets, opposite Pula / Veruda archipelago Brijuni has a unique Mediterranean and exotic flora and fauna. From 1947, the Yugoslavian state and party leader Tito had his preferred summer residence on the island. After Tito‘s death in 1980, the islands were declared a national park and since 1985 the island has been open to the public. You can only dock in the port on the main island Veli Brijunj with private boats. There are strict rules for boat tourists. Anchor and passage bans should be strictly observed. The relatively small Brijuni National Park has a number of sights and attractions to offer. In the exotic safari park on Veli Brijuni in the north of the island you can see Nile antelope, llamas, zebras, elephants and many other species. In the Salin bird sanctuary behind the Gromace promontory in the south of the island of Veli Brijuni, swamp plants and three ponds offer native birds and migratory birds an important habitat for resting and nesting. There are remains from all eras in the National Park - starting with the dinosaurs that left their mark on several parts of the island. The ruins in the Val Catena Bay / Uvala Verige date backe to Roman times. In the center of the island is a Venetian castle with a fortified tower and the St. Germanus church. You should plan enough time for this and the many other historical sights.

On the many walking paths that run through the island, after a lazy day at the water you can strech your legs. A little more strenuous, but rewarded with a magnificent view is the steep path to the chapel on the mountain.

Dugi Otok Veli Rat, Pantera

From far away you can see the oldest lighthouse of Croatia at the northern tip of Dugi Otok. The mast of a sunken Italian freighter raises out of the water. In calm seas, you can anchor and go snorkelling at the shipwreck. The bay Pantera lies on the inside on the way to the Marina Veli Rat and has buoys. From there, a 10 minute walk will take you to the lighthouse and the bay in front of it. The bay at the lighthouse is very beautiful with gorgeous big white stones and great waves for bodyboard surfing.

Dugi Otok Sakarun

On the outside of Dugi Otok is the paradisiacal bay Sakarun. The large sandy bay has beautiful turquoise waters and a long, shallow sandy beach. There are two bars on the shore. A tourist train goes from here to Bozova during the day.

Central Dalmatia

Base: Biograd/Jezera/Sibenik

Biograd the "white city" or royal city is a modern city. For a long time, it has been the residence of medieval Croatian dynasties, whose splendor is still visible in the old town. During the day, life mainly takes place on the beaches and the harbor promenade, in the evening the bustle shifts to the promenade of the old town. Numerous shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and ice cream parlors await the tourists. Biograd is a popular port of departure in the heart of Dalmatia. The Pasman Canal and the islands of Pasman and Uglijan, as well as the beautiful world of the Kornati Islands are right on the doorstep.

Murter Jezera, Murter and the bays

Murter is also called the gateway to the Kornati, but the peninsula itself has also a lot to offer. The starting port Jezera is a lovely little place with a nice beach, shops, restaurants and bars. The main town of Murter, is a lot bigger and busier. Especially the nightlife of Murter has a lot to offer.

The bays Vucigrada and Kosirinia are located south and are ideal for bathing with their turquoise crystal clear water. In the beautiful, but also very busy bay Vucigrada, the popular restaurant Cigrada invites you to an excellent lunch or dinner.

The nice little town Pirovac is surrounded by picturesque beaches and offers a good infrastructure. In the village there are numerous attractions, such as the ruins of the old city walls, a former Franciscan monastery and various sacral buildings.

Vrgada on the small island in front of Murter is a nice island town with the possibility of landing and some restaurants. In front of the red sandy beach there is a buoy field.

The historic center of Vodice is located on a small island connected with the mainland by a stone bridge. The former fishing village has retained its original beauty and its homely charm with its narrow streets and densely lined up stone houses. The modern marina is located east of the old town.

The journey through the canal is beautiful. Skradin is a sleepy town, a picturesque place against the backdrop of white rocks and green shore. Skradin nestles on the reeds,has a small marina and numerous anchorages. Only a few kilometers inland there are the grandiose waterfalls of the Krka National Park.

Zirje, Vela Stupica

Zirje is a very quiet island, ideal for those seeking peace.The most beautiful bathing areas can be found in the Vela and Mala Stupica bay. Immediately behind the bays rise hills where ruins of Byzantine fortresses from the 6th century can be visited.

KORNAT Vrulje, ACI Marina Piscera, Lavsa SMOKVICA small island on the southern tip of Kornat

The long island of Kornat is the namesake of the entire Kornati National Park archipelago. Like a necklace of white pearls, the islands of the Kornati shine from the clear blue of the Adriatic. Hundreds of small islands and reefs, a largely uninhabited little gray and white hilly landscape with sparse greenery, covered with olive and fig trees or vineyards - the labyrinthine archipelago of Kornati National Park. For skippers, the archipelago is something very special. Due to its importance as an area of almost untouched nature with an almost intact ecosystem, The National Park is subject to strict conditions. This also applies to anchoring, which is only allowed in certain bays. The visit to the national park is not free, you pay per person per day admission to the National Park. The island Kornat is with a size of 32 km² the largest island of the Kornati archipelago. On there are also the places / coves Vrulje, Piscera and Lavsa. Insider tip: The Kornati Mountains are the most beautiful places to enjoy a beautiful sunset!

National park Telascica

The Telascica Nature Park is located in the south of the island of Dugi otok and extends over a length of 10 km. The northeastern shore of Telascica Bay is mostly bare, while in the southwest pine, olive and fig trees grow. The Telascica is one of the largest and most beautiful bays on the Croatian coast. Very impressive are the steep rock cliffs, which rise up to 166 m height and protect the bay to the sea side.

Dugi Otok Sali

Sali on the east coast of Dugi Otok is an idyllic island town with many restaurants and a particularly nice music bar for the nightlife. The name Sali comes from the salt mines, from which the precious sea salt was obtained. Sali has an interesting cemetery where the dead are not buried in the earth but in rock caves. The craters that have been blown up into the rock are closed with large stone slabs.

Sibenik is one of the larger port towns of Croatia. A narrow channel, the mouth of the river Krka, which pulls up to Skradin and the famous waterfalls, separates Sibenik from the open sea. In the old town, numerous well-preserved stone works of art from the Middle Ages have been preserved. On the harbor promenade below the famous cathedral cafes, restaurants and bars line up.

Because of its scenic beauty Zlarin is also called "The Golden Island". Zlarin is known for its coral and sponge divers. Zlarin is a subtropical paradise with palm trees and fig trees. Naturestonehouses line the promenade from the only town of the island. Among them proud residences from the 17th and 18th century can be visited.

Kaprije, Kakan

The island of Kaprije, located in the middle of the archipelago in front of Sibenik, has a particularly rich coast, where several beaches invite you to swim. In the bay V Nozdra on the southeastern cape there is a good place to stay. From there it is only a 15-minute walk to the small port town of Kaprije. The neighboring island of Kakan is uninhabited and has many beautiful bays too.

KORNAT Vrulje, ACI marina Piscera, Lavsa SMOKVICA small island at the southern tip of Kornat

Zut with it 12 km² is the second largest island of the Kornati National Park, consisting of bare kalkfels or bare herbaceous flora. Like the island of Kornat, Zut is inhabited only in summer, because there are no sources of water on the island, Zut is owned by the farmers of Murter who have their olive plantations and orchards there. The ACI Marina Zut is very popular with sailors because of its lovely surroundings.

Zirje Vela Stupica

Primosten is a picturesque island town with world famous vineyards on the opposite mainland. The settlement was founded in the early 16th century by residents of the nearby coastal region, who were searching for protection protection from the Turks and fortified the rocky island with walls and towers. Today, the former fishing village is connected to the mainland by a causeway. Beautiful historic fishermen's houses and parts of the city walls have survived and give Primosten its special flair.

Trogir, as a port of departure, offers a variety of attractions. The historic old town with its countless Gothic cathedrals, Venetian palaces and Baroque churches is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Narrow romantic lanes lead you to the historic buildings and squares.

• Bobovisca: Nice place with mooring, electricity and water. Nice cafe and restaurant right on the jetty. Several beautiful bathing possibilities on both pages of the place on large stone slabs.

• Hvar: Hvar, on the island of the same name, was one of the most important nautical cities in history due to its strategic location since antiquity. Almost at each corner you will find historic buildings that reflect the spirit of different historical epochs. Already from the elegant, palm-fringed harbor promenade, the fairytale city offers sights and culture at its best. Hvar has become one of the best addresses on the Dalmatian coast, is not for nothing known as the “St. Tropez of Croatia”. Hvar is dominated by the large fortress, with a breathtaking view over the old town and the Paklini islands.

Rogoznica is one of the less-known twin sister of Primosten. Rogoznica is similarly built and also connected to the mainland by a causeway. Rogoznica is a small tranquil fishing village. In a sheltered location, the place, surrounded by pine forests, offers a lovely appearance with a nice promenade.

Base: Zadar

Zadar in the heart of Dalmatia is one of the most popular Croatian holiday destinations and one of the most beautiful port cities in Croatia. With its historic flair the 3000-year-old city combines modernity and history perfectly. Remnants of antiquity, historic villas and churches, attractive squares with restaurants, cafes and lively bars with nightlife make Zadar a vibrant city.

About 9 km southeast of Zadar lies the Marina Sukosan, with 1400 berths one of the largest marinas on the Adriatic. The picturesque little town is very popular because of its proximity to Zadar and its beautiful pebble beaches.

Ugljan Sutomiscica, Kukljica

Ugljan is also called the green island. Slightly hilly, it stretches two nautical miles west of Zadar. With its many bays and the small Marina Kukljica Ugljan is a good stopover on every trip.

On the island of Molat there are three small towns: Molat, Brgulje and Zapuntel. A nice place for over night for sailors is the buoys field in front of the village of Brgulje. Molat is a rocky patch for peace seekers.

There is only one place on the island, which also bears the name Olib. The place is located on the western side of the island overlooking the island of Silba. On the western side of the island is the largest bay called Olib. The bay Slatinica, with the most beautiful sandy beach of the island, lies on the eastern side. The bay of Sv. Nikola with the church of the same name is well protected from Bora and is therefore suitable for sailors and boaters.

Iz, Iz Veli

The island of Iz lies inland from Dugi Otok near the nice little harbor town Brbinj. Iz is the only Dalmatian island whose inhabitants were potters. These simple, almost unadorned utensils are still widely known today. The construction of the houses on Iz are traditional and simple. The steak restaurant Mandrac in Iz Veli is known among sailors for its sensational and great steaks.

Split, Trogir

Base: Split/Trogir

Split is the capital of Dalmatia and the largest city on the Adriatic coast. The city is 1700 years old and full of cultural sights from all eras.

• Milna : ACI Marina. Pretty old island village. Great for strolling and eating. In the village you have all supply options. Especially worth seeing is the church.
• Bobovisca : Nice place with mooring, electricity and water. Nice cafe and restaurant right on the jetty. Several beautiful bathing possibilities on both pages of the place on large stone slabs.
• Stari Grad : "Old Town" The medieval town of Stari Grad is located in an impressive bay that leads into the city like a funnel. On the long promenade, which is also the lively center of the village, you are right in front of the imposing town hall at Moorings. Stroll along the promenade and discover numerous baroque buildings. Many small squares invite you to linger in the UNESCO-listed town.
• Vrborsca : The image of the fjord-like harbor of Vrborsca is characterized by old stone houses and a nice little river spanned by narrow bridges. In the small fishery museum you can be led to times long past.
• Hvar : Hvar, on the island of the same name, was one of the most important nautical cities in history due to its strategic location since antiquity. Almost at each corner you will find historic buildings that reflect the spirit of different historical epochs. Sveti Klement

• Marina Palmizana : Marina Palmizana on the island of Sveti Klement faces the town of Hvar. The former barren island is today a thriving paradise full of exotic plants, extraordinary art and culture, and, of course, first-class gastronomy. There are taxi boat connections to Hvar until midnight.
• If you cannot find a place in the Marina Palmizana, you can also find space in the Vinogradisce bay on the other side of Sveti Klement, opposite the marina. A short, beautiful path leads from there across the exotic vegetation to the Marina Palmizana. On the way there are also numerous restaurants and bars.

Vis Stoncica

With its gorgeous and gently sloping shallow sandy beach, the bay is one of the most popular destinations on the island of Vis. With turquoise blue water, sandy beach, palm trees and beach bar, the bay is ideal for swimming and snorkelling. In the evening, many of the yachts leave the bay and calm returns. Highly recommended is the hike to the nearby lighthouse on the Cape. The path goes up from the beach to the left of the bar. In the evening you can eat very well in the restaurant on the beach.

In addition to the town of Vis, visiting the marine tunnels / Rogagic, northwest of the city of Vis is highly recommended. Follow the way to the beach at the marine bunker entrance, then towards the open sea there is a small parking spot with the tunnel entrance gate. You should definitely anchor in the bay in front of the marine tunnel, because the setting directly at the tunnel entrance is actually prohibited, because in the morning many excursion boats want to enter there.

Very nice place with many possibilities for the evening. Numerous shops, restaurants, bars and cafes invite you to stroll. Behind the jetty there is a nice beach with a beach bar. In the bay and also outside the breakwater, there are numerous buoys.

Solta Maslinica

Nice little place, which is worth a stop especially because of the beautifully restored Venetian palace. The beautiful estate now houses a luxury hotel with an excellent attached restaurant.

Solta Sesula

Nice but much visited bay with a good restaurant.

Already at the entrance you can see the big quarry from which the special white limestone, also often called white marble, is exported all over the world, for particularly exquisite buildings. Puscina is a nice little island town with a little picturesque town harbor.

Baska Voda on the mainland

Just near the famous tourist resort of Makarska lies the lovely resort of Baska Voda. The palm-fringed waterfront is the bustling center of the resort with numerous shops, restaurants and bars.

• Jelsa : Historic nice harbor town with many attractions like the chapel of Sveti Ivan.
• Mala Stiniva : Nice bay with pebble beaches. Through the picturesque rocks raising up vertically of the turquoise sea are a popular picture motif.
• Sucuraj : Sucuraj is a typical Dalmatian fishing village with small narrow streets and stone houses. It is located at the southern tip of HVAR and offers a beautiful view over the sea and the surrounding islands.

Peljesac Loviste

Loviste is a small village at the western end of the Peljesac peninsula.

• Korcula : The old town of Korcula is one of the best preserved medieval towns in the entire Mediterranean. Korcula has a diverse cityscape, which was created in the course of the eras by the Greeks, Romans, Illyrians, Croats and Venetians. Numerous attractions bear witness to these times. Due to its round fortification towers Korcula is also often referred to as a fortified town or small Dubrovnik. Narrow streets and historic squares with magnificent buildings and churches as well as an impressive city wall await visitors. The famous sailor Marco Polo was born in Korcula in 1254. The Marco Polo Museum in Korcula is recommendable and very informative.
• Kneza, Lumbarda : The coast of the island of Korcula is especially nice, with many bays for anchoring and swimming. All the bays offer a small but fine infrastructure. The City of Korcula can be reached by taxi.The closer the bays to the city of Korcula, the more popular they are. But also on the mainland opposite, Orebic is very popular with sailors too. A taxi boat and the ferry ride regularly to Korcula from there.
• Vela Luka : Vela Luka is a lovely village with a pretty harbor promenade with palm trees, cafes and restaurants. Vela Luka is located in a deep bay, which is very well protected by the neighboring mountains.

Compared to other Dalmatian islands, Lastovo has a lot of fertile land. Lastovo is one of the most forested green islands in Croatia. It can justifiably call itself a nature park, because it is an island of tranquility. Countless islands with picturesque bays and sandy shores belongs to Lastovo archipelago. Remains of Illyrian and Roman settlements can still be seen on some islands. Depending on wind and weather, you can explore the beautiful bays and small villages to your heart's content. On Lastovo nature dominates, you can also go for wonderful walks on the small island. At Prezba there are two old naval bunkers to visit.

• Hvar : Hvar, on the island of the same name, was one of the most important nautical cities in history due to its strategic location since antiquity. Almost at each corner you will find historic buildings that reflect the spirit of different historical epochs. Already from the elegant, palm-fringed harbor promenade, the fairytale city offers sights and culture at its best. Hvar has become one of the best addresses on the Dalmatian coast, is not for nothing known as the "St. Tropez of Croatia". Hvar is dominated by the large fortress, with a breathtaking view over the old town and the Paklini islands.
• Milna : Milna is only 4 km south of Hvar town. Situated in a sheltered bay Milna is ideal for families with its beautiful pebble beaches away from the hustle and bustle. On the west bank of the bay there is one of the finest examples of rustic architecture from the 17th century, the summer residence of the Ivanic family, built in Baroque and Renaissance style.
• Stomorska : On the northeast side of Solta there is the village of Stomorska with the island's oldest harbor. The houses stretch along the slopes to the harbor, where the lively center of Stomorska is. In summer, the city is a popular destination and along the promenade there are numerous restaurants, cafes and a few smaller shops.
• Necujam : The village of Necujam is located in Split's largest bay on the island of Solta. Here you will also find a large holiday village. In the lower part of the bay you will see one of the largest beaches on Solta, a popular anchorage!
• Rogac : Rogac is the main port on the island of Solta and has a petrol station. During the day Rogac is a bustling tourist destination, rather quiet at night.
• Maslinica : On the west side of Solta lies the harbor town Maslinica, one of the most beautiful places on the island. The heart of Maslinica beats on the beach promenade, because there is not only the ACI Marina, but also the wonderful castle Martinis Marchi.

Drvenik Veli, Drvenik Mali

The two islands are flat and great for swimming. Anyone who wants can also go to the port Drevnik on Veli Drevnik. The place is lovely and very quiet, there are a small church with an old cemetery, some shops and some cafes and restaurants. At the harbor entrance opposite the marina is a ferry landing, but does not bother.

Route 3 (2 weeks)

Vis is an island with a lot of untouched nature. The island of Vis is 32 nautical miles from the mainland. Vis is thus the furthest upstream island of the Adriatic. Due to its location, Vis was a military outpost until 1989. To the northeast, not far from the city of Vis, there is a well-preserved military system with an underground naval tunnel and a military bunker which can be visited. The city of Vis is lovely and full of respectable houses from the renaissance and baroque era. Ancient remains and quiet narrow streets with numerous souvenir shops, restaurants and cafes invite you to linger.

The island, which is densely covered with sea pines and green oaks up to the beaches, is a national park in its western part. The special feature of the island are two salt lakes, which are connected to the sea. In one a small Benedictine monasteryis situated. Mljet offers several interesting bays. The bays of Pomena and Polace are ideal starting points for a visit to the National Park. From the port of Polacee the entrance to the national park is just 50 meters away. The entrance fee includes the bus ride to the salt lake. There you can comfortably walk around the lake or visit the monastery island. Mljet is a beautiful island for hiking, swimming or just relaxing.

• Sucuraj : Sucuraj is a typical Dalmatian fishing village with small narrow streets and stone houses. It is located at the southern tip of Hvar and offers a beautiful view over the sea and the surrounding islands.

Qualification requirements

For a yacht charter in Croatia, you need one of the licences listed below as well as a VHF radio licence. If you do not have a sailing licence or do not have enough experience, you can also book a skipper for the desired yacht.

• Croatian Coastal licence (Adriatic Sea & International Sea valid!)
• Internationally valid offshore patent or
• a patent for near shore sailing as well as
• a VHF radio licence (skipper or crew member)

Since 1995 we have been working in yacht charter business and offer sailing boat rental in Croatia . We mostly work with high-quality sailing boats provided by our sister company Beneteau Croatia . In addition to yacht charter in Croatia , we also operate one of the oldest and best sailing school in Croatia where we provide sailing courses to “new” as well as to experienced sailors.

Our company philosophy is to provide our clients with the best possible service  when they charter a yacht for a sailing holiday in Croatia . Our team consists mainly of very experienced sailors, securing the highest possible standard in the whole process with arranging/planning, booking, arrival at one of our charter bases in Croatia and final departure from the Marina for an unforgettable sailing adventure in Croatia.

As already mentioned, our yacht charter fleet consists mainly of sailing boats from Beneteau. In our fleet we have boats from 30 feet to about   64 feet and in terms of berths our boats offer space for 6-12 persons. All boats are carefully maintained by our technical team and the colleagues from Beneteau Croatia . As a charter client you can expect to board a charter boat in super condition.

Well, what is the wording – no rule without an exception ! Actually, we at Ultra Sailing also have Catamarans for charter ; the catamarans are of the brand Fountaine Pajot . If you rather want to rent a motorboat , mega yacht or other types of vessel our experienced booking team can of course assist you in finding vessels of those types.

From which charter bases in Croatia can the Ultra Sailing boats be rented?  Ultra has branch offices and staff in ACI Marina Split , ACI Marina Dubrovnik , Marina Baotic (Trogir) ,    ACI Marina Pomer in Pula and Marina Kastela . Charter boats have to be returned in the same Marina they were rented in. Upon request and payment of additional fee it is possible to arrange one way charter from Trogir/Split to Dubrovnik or vice versa . 

Charter price  depends on a number of factors, size and type of charter boat, duration of rental and date of the charter . At Ultra we offer various discount programs like early booking Yachtcharter   or last minute sailing if you are flexible it is possible to enjoy a week sailing holiday in Croatia at a bargain price.

If you are looking to charter a sailing boat in Croatia for the first time, you of course need to be aware of the formal requirements for chartering a yacht in Croatia , no need to say that a license for operating the vessel is required. Additionally, sailing and navigation skills should be on an adequate level. Detailed information about the exact requirements for chartering a yacht from Ultra Sailing in Croatia can be found on our page. If you don't have the necessary licenses, we can arrange a skipper or we can recommend considering the Ultra sailing school program where the necessary theoretical and practical sailing skills can be acquired to do a bareboat sailing .
