The Four Pools at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club (Photos, Hours, and Details)

When it comes to the pools at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts, you’ve got options. Four pools are available between the resorts. However, most guests will prefer the resort’s feature pool, Stormalong Bay. It’s no secret that we consider it the best hotel pool at Walt Disney World .

However, those wanting to enjoy a peaceful spot at the pool or take a quick swim near their room will want to be aware of the resort’s other options. For instance, you might have a day when you want to enjoy the pool and get laundry done simultaneously. Or you might wake up early one morning and have a few minutes to enjoy the quiet pool before the main pool opens. If so, you’ll have options.

Below, we’ll discuss each of the quiet and feature pools at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club. We’ll review their location, pool hours, and other amenities you’ll want to know beforehand.

Major Refurbishment Note: From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools. (This was originally scheduled to end in May of 2025.)

Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Pools

As mentioned above, Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club has four swimming pools. They are as follows:

Stormalong Bay

  • Admiral’s Pool

We’ll preview each pool further below.

Pool Hours at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club

During our visit, pool hours at Stormalong Bay were between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. However, hours are subject to change. During the summer months until Labor Day, the hours are usually extended one hour until 11:00 p.m.

Pool hours posted at the feature pool at Disney's Beach and Yacht Club.

Quiet pool hours were posted during our last stay from 7:00 a.m. through 11:00 p.m. These pool hours are pretty consistent throughout the year. However, you’ll want to know that the quiet pools at Beach and Yacht Club do not have lifeguards or other attendants.

Are the Pools Heated?

Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club pools are heated to 82 degrees. So, in the event of cooler weather, they usually remain open. However, if the outside temperature drops to around 50 degrees or lower, the pools will close until warmer temperatures return.

Complimentary Towels and Life Jackets

Complimentary towels are provided at each pool at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club, so you can use the extra room in your suitcase for something else.

Life jackets are also provided at each resort pool. They come in a wide range of sizes.

Mobility Lifts

Pool lifts are available for guests with disabilities or limited mobility. Here is a photo of the lift at the Beach Club’s Tidal Pool.

Changing Areas

Each of the resort’s pools has a nearby restroom. However, Stormalong Bay has an area with dedicated showers, a room to change, toiletries, and towels. If you find this area busy, you can use the shower inside the resort’s gym. The gym is adjacent to the pool, and I don’t think most people know this extra set of showers exists.

Stormalong Bay is more of a water park than a pool. It’s so large it would be difficult to photograph in its entirety unless you had an aerial view.

The feature pool with a sand bottom at Disney's Beach and Yacht Club.

Most guests (including my family) stay at Disney’s Beach or Yacht Club because of Stormalong Bay. Most of our days are spent relaxing at the pool. However, we do visit the parks for entertainment in the evenings.

Toward one end, a wading pool features a large sandbar in the center of it. Smaller children can spend hours digging in the sand and enjoying this pool area.

Another kiddie pool is available inside the shipwreck, across the walkway from Stormalong Bay. The ship also serves as the entrance to the pool’s water slide. The photo below shows where the tube slide begins at the top of the ship’s mast.

Stormalong Bay has three hot tubs scattered throughout the pool area.

Guests can take in scenic views of Disney’s Boardwalk across the lake from some places around the pool. Stormalong Bay has plenty of seating. But be warned, the good seats are often taken early. During our stay at the Yacht Club this summer, I waited in line for the pool to open each morning to get a table and chairs in the shade. Places in the shade are pretty limited.

Cabana rentals can be reserved up to 60 days in advance, but they sell out quickly. If you want to learn more, we have a review of renting a cabana at the Beach Club . We also have a complete guide for Stormalong Bay that includes photos and videos of every pool feature. If you plan to spend some time at this pool, it has some tips that will likely be useful.

Tidal Pool at Disney’s Beach Club

Disney’s Beach Club has two additional quiet pools. The Tidal Pool sits on the front side of Disney’s Beach Club. It is the smallest of the three quiet pools between the resorts. While this pool sits near the walkway to Epcot, a laundry room sits on one end, blocking the view. Rooms on the other three sides surround the pool.

To access this pool, take the main hallway off the resort’s lobby. Follow the signs that say pool, and after a few turns, you’ll reach a doorway leading out to the pool. You can’t miss it.

This pool is often the least busiest of the three quiet pools. However, if you’re visiting when the weather is warm, don’t be surprised to find a reasonable number of guests at all the pools.

Next, the Dunes Cove Pool is located near the back of the resort. This is the formal pool for the Beach Club Villas. The buildings in this wing are mint green compared to the blue of Disney’s Beach Club.

While the Dunes Cove Pool is exclusive to guests staying in the Beach Club Villas, resort guests can access it. However, this pool area will likely be out of the way and is often busy.

Newly resurfaced pool at Disney's Beach Club Villas

This pool was recently completely resurfaced. We stopped in on a chilly day to check out the updates. Everything looked fresh and new.

Admiral Pool at Disney’s Yacht Club

At Disney’s Yacht Club, guests have access to the Admiral Pool. If you take the hallway off the lobby and pass The Marketplace at Ale and Compass, it will dead end at doors that lead to the Admiral Pool. It’s a peaceful pool area surrounded by trees on one side.

Admiral Pool

This pool is a little off the beaten path. If your room doesn’t face it, you might not know it was there.

All the quiet pools have a maximum depth of 4’3″. However, Stormalong Bay has some areas that get as deep as 8′.

Hurricane Hannas Waterside Bar and Grill

You’ll have two options if you want to enjoy a meal or cocktail at the pool. You can order something and take it to the pool of your choice. Or you can visit Stormalong Bay and order from the poolside bar and grill, Hurricane Hannas.

Hurricane Hannas the poolside bar and grill at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club

During busier times, servers wait on guests at the pool deck. However, this often takes a while because only a few servers wait on the entire pool area. On my last visit, a server left us a menu. It was over 30 minutes before he returned to our area. While it wasn’t his fault, if you want something quickly, you are probably better off ordering it at the location.

outdoor dining area for Hurricane Hannas

We like placing a mobile order at Ale and Compass and bringing it to the pool. The food is good quality and reasonably priced, and if you want something small, you can order something from the kids’ menu.

If you purchase a Rapid Fill mug during your stay, you’ll want to be aware that Hurricane Hannas has a beverage refill station. You can refill your mug at the pool.

refillable mug area at pool

Additionally, Beaches and Cream, an ice cream shop, sits immediately behind the pool area. They do not do mobile orders but have a walk-up window where guests can order various ice cream treats. If you want to dine here, you’ll need to get a reservation or join their walk-up list when available.

green lawn at Disney's Beach Club

In addition to the pools, the Beach and Yacht Club have a variety of other recreational activities. The Beach Club has a sand volleyball court near the lobby entrance.

The Yacht Club has a tennis court next to the Admiral Pool. Both resorts share a fully equipped gym on the walkway behind Stormalong Bay.

Or you might prefer to lounge on the Beach while the children play in the sand.

Final Thoughts

We love all the pools at Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club. But it’s hard to deny that Stormalong Bay has a special place in our hearts. It’s going to be tough to beat!

On a side note, I would caution that some guests are overwhelmed by the large pool area. So, if you have children of an age where you’ll need to keep an eye on them at all times, you might not enjoy your pool time. When my niece was younger, we camped out at the sand bar pool. It’s more of a wading pool than anything. She was content to dig in the sand all day. So I never had to worry about her wandering off into other pool areas.

That said, make sure to pack a good book (hopefully), find a spot in the full sun or shade, and relax the day away. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

You might even enjoy a little pool-hopping between the resort’s quiet and feature pools throughout your trip. It’s your vacation, so enjoy what you like the most. These special times don’t come often enough for most of us.

Resort Information: Yacht and Beach Club – Pool Information

This is a continuation of a new series taking a comprehensive look at all of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. There will be several posts on each resort looking at pools, dining, shopping, and other amenities.

General Information

Every Walt Disney World resort has at least one pool and all are very nice. It is likely that none can match the main pool at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts in size, scope, and design. Named Stormalong Bay, the massive, free-form, sand-bottomed pool is something special.

While the theme of the pool is simply “beachy,” the execution is quite complex. There are two centerpieces that are helpful in orienting oneself; a decorative, yet moving, windmill and the gigantic shipwreck that serves as the start of the pool’s water slide. The shipwreck itself is actually on the beach side of the promenade, while the rest of the pool meanders and flows around the windmill and various walkways and footbridges.

Stormalong bay appears to be one giant pool, but it is actually a cleverly designed trio. There is a regular pool, with depths of 4-6 feet, a shallow kiddie area, and a slow-flowing lazy river. Each of these areas is separate, requiring swimmers to exit one to enter another. In between these pools are lovely vegetation, rock formations, and waterfalls. The whirlpools can be found atop the largest rock structure.

In addition to Stormalong Bay, there are two “quiet” pools; one for Yacht Club and one for the Beach Club. These pools are on the extreme ends of the resorts, the east side for the Beach Club and the west side for the Yacht Club, and they are simple, non-themed pools designed for those who wish to avoid the crowds at Stormalong Bay. Each “quiet” pool also has a whirlpool nearby.

Water Slides, K iddie Areas, and Accessibility

There is one main water slide at Stormalong Bay. As mentioned, it begins on top of the mast of the shipwreck. From there the slide begins as an enclosed tube as it takes riders across the promenade. It then meanders through rocks and trees as the tube’s top is removed. Overall, this is a long slide although it is quite tame, making the scare level very low.

In addition to the main slide, there is a kid-friendly small slide at the bottom of the shipwreck. This is far from the only child area available at Stormalong bay however. The western end of the Bay contains one of the more unique kiddie pools available. The two foot depth pool is sand-bottomed, as is almost all of Stormalong Bay, but the sand is also mounded into a sandbar that cuts right into the middle of the shallow water. This creates the perfect place for children or adults to build sand castles. Next to the sandy shallow pool is an even shallower pool meant for the very small.

While Stormalong Bay is handicapped accessible via wide steps and hand holds, it is not a zero-depth pool. Therefore, those with limited movement may require assistance to get into the water.

Bars and Restaurants

Directly adjacent to Stormalong Bay is a handy food and beverage option. Hurricane Hanna’s Grill serves quick food and all manners of beverage, including beer. Around the corner, nearer the pool, is a full bar that serves additional alcoholic beverages. At the time of writing, Hurricane Hanna’s is undergoing refurbishment and is scheduled to reopen on December 18, 2012.

Some of the options available at Hurricane Hanna’s Grill are cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and wraps. The full menu can be found as part of TouringPlans.com’s dining menus . There are also other dining options very near the pool such as Beaches and Cream. Those additional options will be covered in the Restaurant Information section, to be posted soon.

For those who are not interested in swimming, there are many great spots around and near Stormalong Bay for lounging. Surrounded by lounge chairs, the child areas are easily seen from several spots. There are also banks of chairs and quite a few tables very near the water that are great for relaxing or eating a quick meal.

If sunbathing is the primary goal, there is a large raised platform with many lounge chairs on top. Part of this platform is covered, but much of it is in the open sun and perfect for getting slightly toasted. Of course, being the Beach Club, there is quite a bit of wonderful beach space across the promenade from the pool that will allow you to return home a few shades tanner than when you arrived in Orlando.

Activities and Other Items

As with all Disney resort pool areas, there are mid-day activities consisting of music and games led by Cast Members. This is usually set up near the kiddie pool area and takes place every afternoon. If pool toys such as noodles or inflatables are desired they can be purchased in the Marketplace in the Beach Club or in Fittings and Fairings at the Yacht Club.

Is the pool heated? We’re going to be there in December, and I’m just not as warm blooded as some folks in my family 🙂

All the WDW resort pools are heated. It’s the air outside the pools you need to worry about sometimes!

We were there last Dec 10-16- a low attendance week- and the entire pool was heated only on Saturday, which happened to be the day the hotel was most crowded. I didn’t see anyone rush to fix the pool heater during our entire stay. Made me wonder if the hotel purposely turned the heat off when the crowds were low to save money.

I had the same experience at the Polynesian this past September. That pool was cold on a Tuesday and I was told by a Cast Member that the heater had been turned off. The Beach and Yacht pool was nice and warm during my entire stay.

This pool is great for kids. This is my sons favorite resort because of the pool.

As a warning, if you plan to laze in the lazy river, the tube rental charge is pretty steep (about $10/tube/day, if I remember correctly).

thanks for the info! Didn’t know about the rental fees, will have to budget for this.

Thanks for the info, I totally missed this fee.

We always bring tubes & pool noodles (they do fit in suitcase) from home and leave give them to a guest on our last day.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort Review

Disney’s Beach Club Resort Review

We have waited many long years to stay at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. It’s always been just a little out of our price range. And since we travel to Walt Disney World pretty frequently, many times we are doing so on a budget. But one day, the clouds opened up, smiling upon us and we got a great deal to finally be able to stay there. To say we were excited was an understatement. Did it live up to our expectations? Read on to find out everything you need to know about staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

Beach Club Resort at Walt Disney World

The Beach Club Resort at Walt Disney World is a deluxe resort. Due to its location and amazing pool, it’s one of the most sought-after resorts at Walt Disney World. With prices to match, it is also one of the most expensive. And one any many Disney guest’s bucket lists. Including ours! The Beach Club is located on Disney’s Boardwalk and is just a few minutes walk away from Epcot. That also means it’s super close to the Skyliner, making travel to Hollywood Studios a breeze as well. The Disney World Beach Club Resort is home to both standard guest rooms and DVC rooms. And they also have club level if you’re looking for a little more luxury at Walt Disney World.

Aside from its location, the pools at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is Disney’s Beach Club Resort’s claim to fame. Not only is it huge, but it’s somewhat of a destination in itself. And honestly, it’s pretty cool.  The Beach Club Resort shares its pool and other amenities with its more sophisticated sister resort, Yacht Club Resort.

Disney's Beach Club Resort LObby

Beach Club Resort Atmosphere

The vibe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is laid back, with a New England seaside cottage theme. With beachy colors and seaside scents, it feels like you’re actually on vacation here. This isn’t always the case with Disney resorts! The resort itself is beautiful. Those pastel buildings are so cute and inviting. It’s no wonder that it’s one of the most popular deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World.  The lobby has cute nautical touches throughout and even the Cast Members wear nautical-inspired costumes.

Disney's Beach Club Resort Rooms

Beach Club Resort Rooms

This is where the resort starts to go downhill for me. We don’t tend to spend a ton of time in our room when we are at Walt Disney World. So truthfully, the room itself isn’t usually that big of a deal. But for something that costs as much as Beach Club does, I expect the room to be in better condition. Not only is the carpet quite worn down, but the whole thing just feels old and tired. Don’t get me wrong, I love a room with a bit of character. But having character and being outdated is not the same thing.  I’m not saying this should be another resort room that ends up looking like every other modern-day hotel room.  But I think the rooms could really use a good refresh.

The setup of the room is also a bit awkward. At least the room we stayed in was. Unlike many of the other resort rooms we’ve stayed in, the vanity space near the bathroom is completely open. No curtain, no sliding door. I tend to be an early riser whether I like it or not, and this makes it very difficult to get ready in the morning without disturbing the rest of my family. Most Disney resort rooms have something that separates the vanity. The Beach Club rooms do not. Aside from that, we noticed the bathroom door almost didn’t clear the toilet, and it was sometimes difficult to get into and out of the bathroom because of this. I’m not sure if they are all like this, but it was a bit weird.

All that being said though, the rooms are spacious, the beds are pretty comfortable, and most rooms come with a balcony or patio if you’re on the ground floor. They’re not bad rooms. Just not rooms I’d normally consider paying even about half the cost for.

B each Club Resort Refurbishment

The rooms at Beach Club were actually refurbished in 2017, and I’m not sure what they looked like back then, but they’re not nearly as pristine or even as pretty as I would have expected. Especially when you have the Swan Reserve just 10 minutes away at about half the price.   The Villas are being updated later this year, so I am trying to stay hopeful that at some point, the rest of the rooms will follow.

Beach Club Resort Grounds

White sandy beaches with hammocks, palm trees and the Boardwalk skyline make up the grounds at Beach Club Resort. And really make you feel like you’ve been transported to a completely different place. It’s really magical! Disney’s Boardwalk area is truly one of the best-themed areas in all of Walt Disney World.

While the outside of this resort is pretty immaculate, the inside could use a bit of work. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to keep up with the level of traffic that this resort sees, but we were a little shocked at the state of the interior of the building. Stained carpets in the main lobby. An elevator that looked like it had been eroded in the sea….we kept asking ourselves if this was part of the theming, but I am going to say it’s unlikely that was actually the case. Lots of scuffed-up areas in the hallways.

Disney's Beach Club Resort Pool, Stormalong Bay

Disney Beach Club Resort P ools

The pools at Disney’s Beach Club Resort are famous. Seen from the Disney BoardWalk, the main pool, called Stormalong Bay is huge!  It’s so cool it even needed to have a cool name to go along with it. Stormalong Bay is only for guests staying at Beach and Yacht Club, and yes, they will card you on your way in. Ok, so they don’t actually card you. But you have to scan your magic band to get in and then are given a wristband to wear for re-entry.

The Disney Beach Club Resort Pool itself is quite large, at a whopping 3 acres! And it has a sandy bottom, so it’s kind of like you’re at an actual beach. Seriously how cool is that?! Even better, some of the lounge chairs are settled in areas with sand as well, so you can really feel like you’re on a relaxing vacation.  There are tons of places to relax here, and that’s probably a really good thing because when it’s hot out, the pool can get pretty packed.

There’s also a pretty awesome water slide that crosses the Boardwalk. Have you ever noticed the giant pirate ship in that area? Yep, that’s a water slide! It’s pretty popular too, so, during busier times, you can expect a wait. If you’re a family that loves pools and water slides, then this resort just may be one to put on your list! The pools at Disney’s Beach Club Resort feature a lazy river, a miniature water slide, 2 kiddie pools and 3 whirlpool spas. It’s a pretty impressive pool area and one that could probably substitute a lazy day at the water park for. There are also 3 quiet pools throughout Yacht and Beach Club for those looking for a quieter environment.

Does the Beach Club and Yacht Club Share Pools?

Yes, the pools at Disney’s Beach Club Resort are shared with the Yacht Club Resort. As it sprawls between both places, guests from both the Beach Club and Yacht Club are allowed to use it. Which is such a perk!

Walt Disney World skyliner

Beach Club Transportation Options

The Beach Club Resort is about a 5–7-minute walk to Epcot depending on where your room is located.  You can also walk to the Skyliner station from it, making it convenient to get to Hollywood Studios. If you don’t love heights, or specifically the Skyliner, there is also a ferry that will take you there. For convenience to the two parks, the Beach Club really can’t be beaten.

For Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and Disney Springs, bus transportation is available. This is where the transportation perks kind of get a little tricky. Beach Club often shares a bus with Yacht Club and sometimes even Boardwalk Inn.  This means that rides are longer, and sometimes the buses are fuller as a result. Of course, if you’ve ever stayed at a Value Resort, I don’t know how the buses could be any fuller than that, so you probably wouldn’t even notice.

Disney's Beach Club Resort Hurricane Hanna's

Beach Club Dining and Restaurants

Unfortunately, this is another area that’s a bit of a letdown when it comes to this resort. In general, the Boardwalk area isn’t known for the best quick service restaurants . In my opinion, many of the quick service options are pretty dismal, especially when compared to other resorts. You can see all of the dining options at Disney’s Beach Club Resort here .

Beach Club Marketplace

The Beach Club Marketplace is the Beach Club’s quick service. This serves as their “food court’, which it’s really not. Rather it’s a gift shop with grab and go food items, a few hot items and several variations of mac and cheese. Breakfast is really the best option here as they serve some standard options like Mickey waffles and breakfast sandwiches. There are almost no hot food choices at the Beach Club Marketplace for meals later in the day. But it’s a pretty small area and can get quite crowded first thing in the morning. So if you’re planning to get your morning coffee here, just be prepared to wait in line.

Seating for the Beach Club Marketplace consists of a few small tables directly outside on a little patio area. And in the Solarium, there are also some additional seats.

Hurricane Hanna’s

Hurricane Hanna’s is the resort’s Pool Bar and serves standard food like chicken strips, salads, and burgers. You can also grab some drinks for poolside relaxing here. And it’s easily accessible from the Boardwalk right near the pool. Guests can refill their resort mugs at this location too, which makes it pretty convenient for those relaxing by the beach.

See the full Hurricane Hanna’s menu here .

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop

Beaches and Cream is one of the resort’s most popular restaurants. It’s adorably themed and serves lunch and dinner. But let’s be honest. Most people go for the ice cream. Though they recently expanded, it’s not very big, so reservations can sometimes be difficult to get here.  They also have a to go window with a limited menu that’s very convenient if you’re just looking for ice cream or milkshakes.

Beaches and Cream menu can be found here .

Cape May Cafe

Cape May is the resort’s character dining meal, and it’s a popular one! We aren’t huge seafood eaters around here, so we’ve never tried it. But those who love New England-inspired cuisine and Disney characters in cute outfits can find Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club Resort. They serve breakfast and dinner, and both meals are buffet-style. Breakfast offers more traditional items like Mickey Waffles and omelets. Dinner offers New England flavors. And you can see the whole menu here .

Martha’s Vineyard Lounge

Martha’s Vineyard is the resort’s lounge serving appetizer and drinks.  They’re usually open in the evenings only, but it’s a great place to relax after a long day, or grab a late-night snack. You can find Martha’s Vineyard menu here .

Disney's Beach Club Resort

Movies Under the Stars at Beach Club Resort

Movies Under the Stars is held nightly at the Beach Club Resort.  You can see the Movies Under the Stars at the beach near the Pirate ship slide, or inside at the Solarium if the weather requires it.

Disney's Beach Club Resort Volleyball

Beach Club Resort Amenities and Recreation

Beach Club Resort, like most deluxe resorts, has a gym. Ship Shape Massage Salon Fitness is a full-service facility with gym equipment that offers massages and more.  You can also rent a boat and go fishing at the Beach Club. Or play games at the Lafferty Place Arcade. They also have a beach volleyball court and tennis court. And if you’re looking for the ultimate lazy day, Poolside Cabana Rentals are available with cocktail service, fruit tray and optional dining service add-on.

Map of Beach Club Resort

Beach Club Map

How much does Disney’s Beach Club Resort cost?

The starting price for Beach Club Resort is $483 per night. This is the cost before any discounts are applied and it’s also just the starting cost for standard rooms. You’ll pay more for upgraded views and other room types. Most times of the year, it’s likely to be closer to $600 or more per night. And during the busiest times of the year, a standard room can set you back over $800 per night. So, if you want to stay here but are on a budget, be sure to look for deals! It’s not impossible to find them. But if your travel plans are flexible, always check to see if a promo is available.

Is Beach Club good for families?

If your family loves pool time, then yes! It’s one of the most popular resorts for families based on its pool alone. The Beach Club Resort is perfectly family-friendly. And the laid-back atmosphere is a little less intimidating than its stuffier sister, the Yacht Club. Families will also love the convenience of both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Less travel time in the morning means less chaotic mornings, and we think that’s always a win when you’re traveling with kids. If your priorities are a great pool and easy transportation, then we think your family will love this.

Is Beach Club worth the price?

That depends…a lot. We got a great deal by traveling during a slow period in January. I’ve also seen some good deals pop up in August or September. But I’m going to say the cheapest prices here are likely in January because fewer people are booking it solely for the pool. As opposed to hotter months which is a big factor in many people’s vacations.  It also depends on your priorities. Will your family use the pool? Do you plan to spend a lot of time at Epcot or Hollywood Studios? If you answer yes to either of these, then I think it could be worth the price depending on what the price is. Don’t forget, there are other options to be close to Epcot, and they don’t all cost as much as Beach Club.

If you have no interest in spending time at the pools at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, I don’t think it’s worth it. You can usually find good deals on Boardwalk Inn, and the Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve are all just a short walk from the Boardwalk area and are usually around the price of a moderate.

Disney's Beach Club Resort

Disney Beach Club Resort Review

Since we love keeping things honest around here, I have to say overall I was a bit disappointed in the Beach Club Resort.  I know this is an unpopular opinion. But much like our disappointment in Cinderella’s Royal Table , I’m just gonna say it. I don’t get the hype. Maybe I had romanticized it for too long, or maybe my expectations were too high. I already knew the pool was going to be amazing. And it is! And the location just can’t be beat. But for the price of this resort, I really think there are better options.

The hotel itself is in much need of some TLC.  From stains on the carpet in the lobby, to the seriously weathered down elevator, and the very worn carpet in the guest rooms, for $500-$700+ per night, I expected a lot more. Anywhere else in the world that you would likely stay for this price would be pristine. And the Beach Club Resort is just not.  Its charm and good looks really stop at the door.  And that’s a real shame because it has so much potential to be absolutely fabulous.

The fact that it’s almost impossible to find quick hot food without walking over to a different resort is also a bit of a hassle. But I knew this before going since I’ve stayed on the Boardwalk many times before.  So that’s kind of on me for expecting anything different. But there are great table service restaurants that you’ll have access to like Trattoria Al Forno and Ale and Compass . The restaurants are quite underrated in my opinion, and staying in this area allows you to take advantage of those quite easily. And we are big fans of the pizza window on the Boardwalk, so that’s always a good option as well.

Would we stay here again?

Overall, we were very grateful to be able to stay at the Beach Club Resort. But we won’t be rushing back any time soon. In our opinion, this resort needs some major refreshing before we plan to stay here again. We love the location, and we love the pool, but we just can’t justify the cost of what the resort currently has to offer. We can’t wait to try out the Beach Club’s sister, Yacht Club, soon though!

Disney's Beaach Club Resort and why we may not stay here again until a refurbishment. Everything you need to know.

What is the Beach Club like?

The Beach Club (BC) is a 583 room resort which has guest rooms and conference facilities. It is styled after the New England seaside at the turn of the century and the seashore theme is evident throughout. The BC is joined in the center with the Yacht Club . Together, they share Stormalong Bay and transportation facilities. Next to the Beach Club are the Beach Club Villas, a Disney Vacation Club resort.

yacht and beach club pool slide

What is the advantage to staying at the BC?

The biggest advantage to staying at the Beach Club is its LOCATION.

For most people, the best part of the Beach Club is that you can walk to Epcot . You will enter Epcot through its back entrance, known as the International Gateway. This places you into World Showcase, between the United Kingdom and France Pavilions.

The International Gateway also houses a Disney Skyliner station which provides quick, complimentary transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

It is adjacent to the Yacht Club and across the water from the Boardwalk area. The Swan and Dolphin are also within walking distance. This availability provides a wide range of dining and recreational options.

What should I expect to pay for a room at the Beach Club?

The Beach Club is a “Deluxe” resort hotel, and its prices are among the more expensive offered at Disney. These are regular rate prices and do not include the Florida Sales Tax nor the county resort tax. Most rooms have a maximum five-person occupancy per room. Prices are per room, and there is an additional adult charge of $25 per adult per night for more than two adults in a room.

Walt Disney World Resort rates vary by season (there are nine seasons now), and also by day of the week. The holiday season is the most expensive time of the year. It runs from mid-December to early January as well as during Easter Week.

The rates for a: — Standard View Room (Parking Area or Rooftop) range from $443 – $762 — Garden View Room range from $482 – $801 — Water View Room range from $569 – $850 — Club Level Standard View Room range from $659 – $1097 — Club Level Garden View Room range from $668 – $1103 — Club Level Water View Room range from $710 – $1169 — Suites range from $828 – $3752

What are the rooms views?

There are 2 room views available at the BC . The Standard View generally faces either the parking lot, roof, or wooded area. Some rooms have full walk-out balconies, others do not. Some ground floor rooms have walk out patios.

What type of amenities are offered?

The rooms have a small safe in the closet to store valuables. It’s big enough for your plane tickets, cash/travelers checks and maybe some jewelry, but not much more. For storing larger valuables inquire at the front desk. In addition, you’ll also find a small refrigerator, minibar, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, valet parking, voice mail, 24 hour room service and a morning paper at your door. Are refrigerators available in the rooms?

Yes, there is a complimentary refrigerator in your room. If for some reason there is not, request one.

I hear that there are no more room key cards at Disney resort hotels. How do I get into my room?

Walt Disney World has converted their room keys and admission tickets from plastic cards to MagicBands, flexible plastic wristbands, resembling a watch or bracelet, that use Radio Frequency (RF) technology. Your MagicBand is linked to your My Disney Experience (MDE) account and acts as your Disney resort room key. Simply touch the Mickey symbol on your MagicBand to the RFID reader near your room door to gain entry. Read about using MagicBands for park admission, FastPass+ and more .

If the bill is correct you simply leave. Your Magic Band serves as a Disney souvenir. Late Check-out of noon can be requested without additional cost (very limited availability). If you need Late Check-out, request it at Check-In and as soon as possible the morning of check out (the number of eligible rooms are limited).

Resort Airline Check-In Service at your Disney resort is only available if you are flying domestically (includes Puerto Rico) on specific airlines It is a complimentary (free) service and allows you to check your luggage.

How do I get to the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs?

  • Magic Kingdom – The Magic Kingdom can be reached by taking a bus from the front of the hotel. The bus will usually stop at the Beach Club; however sometimes it will also stop at the Boardwalk, the Swan and the Dolphin resorts. The tends to happen during the middle of the day or during low crowd times.Another longer, but more scenic, journey is to take the monorail from Epcot’s front entrance, transfer at the TTC, and then continue to the MK. Traveling this way does take some time and some walking, but you get to see a little bit more, and it lends to resort hopping if the mood strikes. Depending on traffic, buses can take 15-25 minutes to reach the Magic Kingdom.
  • Epcot – You can take a short walk (10 minutes) to Epcot and enter via the International Gateway. Although World Showcase does not typically open until 11am, you can enter earlier and walk through the park to Future World. You can also take a boat from the dock on the lagoon

yacht and beach club pool slide

  • If you walk to International Gateway, you can board the Disney Skyliner. You’ll need to transfer at the Caribbean Beach Skyliner Station to the Hollywood Studios line.
  • On the Waterside of the resort is the transportation boat dock. Note that this boat makes additional stops for guests at the Boardwalk resort and Swan and Dolphin .
  • You can also walk to the Disney’s Hollywood Studios via the walkway behind the Boardwalk Villas . It’s about a 20 minute walk.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Disney’s Animal Kingdom can be reached by taking a bus from the front of the hotel. The bus will usually stop at the Beach Club; however sometimes it will also stop at the Boardwalk, the Swan and the Dolphin resorts. The tends to happen during the middle of the day or during low crowd times. Depending on traffic, buses can take 10-20 minutes to reach the Animal Kingdom.
  • Disney Springs and for the Water Parks – Go to the Bus Depot for transportation. The same bus that goes to Disney Springs may very well take you to Typhoon Lagoon. Some trips were non stop and some went via PI/DD. There is a separate bus for Blizzard Beach. Buses also travel to the Yacht Club and Boardwalk.

Note that the hotel bus service route sometimes includes stops at the Boardwalk and Yacht Club and then Beach Club. Some Bus runs include stops at the Swan and Dolphin, others do not. The water routes include one stop for the Yacht and Beach Club Marina , the Boardwalk , and the Swan and Dolphin .

Where can I get morning coffee?

Coffee makers are available in all rooms, with packets of coffee, both decaf and regular. You will be able to make about 3 mugs from the pot.

You can also go to Beaches and Cream OR the Beach Club Marketplace for early morning coffee and limited breakfast items (as early as 6:30.am.).

If you’re not satisfied with the pastries at the Beach Club, take a walk over to the Boardwalk Bakery.

Need coffee earlier? Call Room Service.

What are Rapid Fill Mugs?

The Rapid Fill beverage program allows Disney Resort guests to buy (or receive as part of the Disney Dining Plan) a resort mug that can be refilled for a certain period of time as designated at time of purchase. These mugs are enhanced by an RFID bar code that enables the mug to deactivate when the designated time is complete.

What are the restaurants like?

The Beach Club  has quite a variety of restaurants to fit your dining needs

Beaches and Cream is a ’50s type hotshop serving burgers, hot dogs, soups, grilled cheese, and of course ice cream. There are a few small tables and chairs outside Beaches and Cream you can also sit at.

Beach Club Marketplace – Opened April 2005 and offers some made-to-order sandwiches, as well as prepackaged sandwiches and salads, desserts and drinks.

For an evening cocktail, Martha’s Vineyard has a full-service bar offering wine flights. The lounge is located behind Cape May Cafe , next to Ariel’s Private Use Room.

Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill is a poolside full-service bar which also serves food, such as burgers, sandwiches, and salads.

There are also several dining options at the Beach Club’s sister resort, the Yacht Club.

For a signature meal and great steak, visit the  Yachtsman Steakhouse.  The Yacht Club also has the Crew’s Cup Lounge where you can get alcoholic beverages and light snacks.

yacht and beach club pool slide

The Ale & Compass Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a lounge at the Ale & Compass too with cocktails and appetizers.

Within walking distance are the Dolphin/Swan, Boardwalk and all the Epcot restaurants.

What is Stormalong Bay and is it as great as everyone says?

Stormalong Bay is the large, outdoor water area at the Yacht and Beach Club. It features a sandbottom pool, pirate ship slide, and lazy river.

yacht and beach club pool slide

And it is truly awesome. Where else can you bask in the warm sun in such beautiful surroundings and still have SAND in the bottom of the pool. Take a look at our Stormalong Bay Photo Gallery.

There are actually several sections to the pool; the Yacht Club and Beach Club  sections are separate and different so be sure to try both. There is a deep circular area with jets that push you like a river current around the pool. There is also the larger area where the the water slide empties out (The water slide is not to be missed! but sometimes the line gets long) In addition, the *sinking sand* area delights both kids and adults. There are several ‘hot tubs’ located in secluded locations around Stormalong Bay . A separate wading pool area (yes with sand) is located near the ShipWreck water slide entrance for small children and includes a kids water slide. StormAlong Bay is over 3 acres large.

yacht and beach club pool slide

In 1997, a white fence was built to surround the StormAlong Bay complex. This was done due to the large amount of non-resort guests that were using the pool. Access to the Pool area is now extremely limited; one entrance is just outside Martha’s Vineyard ; one entrance at the Yacht Club ; and one entrance near Hurricane Hanna’s . To visit Hurricane Hanna’s you must carry your resort ID with you in order to return to the pool area. Each person in the party does not need their ID to enter (if you all enter together) but keep in mind you need the ID if you exit and re-enter the Pool area! You do get stamped upon entering.

yacht and beach club pool slide

There is a beach shack which rents tubes and noodles, suntan lotion, film and you can get your towels here (towels are free, the other items are not).

For those who arrive at the BC before checking time and would like to use the pool, there is a restroom next to Beaches and Creams where you can change into bathing suits. You just have to make sure that you have already been given your your Resort ID at the front desk.

Is there a leisure pool?

Yes, on the side of the Beach Club  that is closer to Epcot is a courtyard with a Quiet Pool . The quiet pool has it’s own supply of towels. There is no lifeguard at the Quiet Pool . The Yacht Club  has a similar quiet pool. These pools are great for adults who want to read or enjoy a quieter pool experience.

yacht and beach club pool slide

Is there a beach at the Beach Club?

Yes! There is a lovely sand beach along Cresent Lake. You cannot swim in the lake, however there are swinging benches and beach chairs in the sand for your enjoyment.

What types of recreational options do I have?

Can I watch Fireworks from the BC?

You can sit on the Beach and see the high Fireworks from Epcot Forever. With the addition of the bridge to the Boardwalk , there is another good viewing area for the Epcot Forever Fireworks . You can also see the fireworks from the Disney’s Hollywood Studios . Walk over the to Boardwalk and stand near the BWalk Fries vendor cart and you can see the fireworks from MK too!

Another option is to rent a Pontoon Boat for a Fireworks Cruise. This is not inexpensive, but it’s a great way to celebrate a special occasion!

The Bayside Marina near the Yacht Club offers a special Albatross Treasure Cruise for children ages 4-10. Click HERE for more details.

One of the nice features about the BC is that you can get to all the restaurants from inside the hotel or under a nice covered walkway…so if the weather is bad you don’t get wet on your way to dine. The restaurants also seem to be flexible for resort guests’ last minute dining needs.

Ask about the Scavenger Hunt (Disney Trivia) at Guest Services .

New Cape Coral Yacht Club designs: Most on council like a coastal, Key West vibe

yacht and beach club pool slide

Given three different design options for the new Yacht Club Community Center , most of the Cape Coral City Council is leaning toward a coastal, Key West-flavor architecture.

At a committee of the whole meeting on Wednesday, the city sought direction from the council on a design direction for the outside of the community building.

"It's a concept, just like we do with anything else, and as we are designing, things may come up that we want to shift and be nimble (on)," said Cape Coral City Manager Michael Ilczyszyn.

James Pankonin with Kimley Horn, a consulting firm focusing on public and private developments, presented the information about the look of the community building.

Cape Coral's Yacht Club Community Park, which includes a yacht basin, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a ballroom, and a beach, has been a popular attraction and staple for the city since the 1960s but is set to undergo major renovations after Hurricane Ian delayed the original plans .

The current plans include a new two-story community center to replace the ballroom, removing the tennis courts, rearranging the area to accommodate a four-story parking garage, a new restaurant, and a new resort-style pool.

The city is also preparing for the demolition of the Yacht Club and its facilities in April as it awaits permits.

No estimates could be provided for the price of the new building.

"It will really come into how much of certain materials are needed and construction methods," Ilczyszyn said.

The city will have that information once they have 30% of the construction design.

Two public meetings for the designs are planned for April 2 and May 7.

After getting public input, the city will vote to amend its contract with Kimley Horn to approve all these changes.

The plan is to have these changes approved or introduced before the summer hiatus.

New Designs for the Yacht Club building

John Bryant with Sweet Sparkman Architecture and Interiors, a Sarasota-based design firm, said the goal with the new designs was to maintain the experience of the original Yacht Club.

The majority of the council preferred option one.

Design one:

Bryant described the first option as "coastal vernacular" and similar to the park buildings at Lake Kennedy and Yellow Fever Creek.

"So it's sort of informed by the current architectural work in 2024," Bryant said. "Kinda Key West."

Councilmember Dan Sheppard and Mayor John Gunter preferred option one.

Gunter said the design was the most pleasing for him.

Councilmember Keith Long liked option one and said he liked the Key West aesthetic.

Councilmember Tom Hayden liked option one.

Design two:

Option two is more informed by the current Yacht Club and would have a stone base and mid-century feel to it, according to Bryant.

"There's certainly opportunity to kind of further develop this option to have even more of the existing Yacht Club feel, but a different vibe, feel than option one," Bryant said.

He also said option two might be more expressive the closer they try to recreate the aesthetic of the old ballroom building.

Councilmember Jessica Cosden liked design two as it incorporated design elements of the old building though she lamented how similar it looked to the first design.

"I wish we could have done more, but I know it's hard with a two-story building, to make it look the same as a very unique one-story building.

Councilmember Bill Steinke said two would be his choice as well, but was wary of additional maintenance of natural wood products used in the design.

"As long as we can bring that aesthetic and keep the maintenance down, number two would be my choice," Steinke said.

Councilmember Robert Welsh said he could go either way, but he liked the look of two.

Design three:

This would be more contemporary and modern.

"Even with a more contemporary language, you can still have warmth, incorporating some wood elements and stone elements," Bryant said.

None of the council members expressed any favorability for the third design.

Inside the new community center

The Community Center will have an additional 10,000 square feet for a total of 47,000 square feet, a history room to remember the first ballroom building on the first floor, and more rooms for civic and community use on the first floor.

Additionally, the new ballroom has shifted slightly as the balcony area on the second floor has been expanded to wrap around the top of the building.

The most cost-effective pool options to consider are vinyl liner pools and fiberglass pools. When you need customization, you can also consider a concrete pool.

  • Vinyl liner pools are more affordable than concrete or fiberglass pools, providing a budget-friendly choice for inground pools.
  • Fiberglass pools are also considered affordable compared to other types, with a starting cost of around $46,000.
  • Concrete pools offer greater design flexibility and can be customized to fit various shapes and sizes, although usually more expensive than fiberglass or vinyl pools.

When deciding which pool is best for your needs and budget, it’s essential to hire a professional pool builder in Lyubertsy.

They can help you assess your requirements, consider various factors like pool size, shape, material, and location, and provide expert guidance to make an informed decision.

The time it takes to build a pool depends on the type of pool you choose.

  • Vinyl Liner Pool: It typically takes about 5 to 7 weeks to build this type of pool.
  • Fiberglass Pool: Building a fiberglass pool usually takes around 6 to 8 weeks.
  • Concrete (Gunite) Pool: Constructing a concrete pool takes about 6 to 10 weeks.

Remember that these timeframes are approximate and may vary based on factors like permits, weather, and other considerations. It’s best to discuss the specific timeline with your pool contractor to get a more accurate estimate. Be patient and work closely with a reputable pool builder in Lyubertsy to ensure a smooth and timely construction process. They can guide you through the steps and address any questions you may have along the way.
