Baudo-Class Star Yacht

The Baudo -Class Star Yacht is a favorite vessel of the galaxy's wealthy. It is especially popular among the younger set of spoiled rich kids who fancy themselves as rakes and bravos. It is a good-looking ship, with smooth, organic lines that are more reminiscent of a deep sea creature than a high-tech pleasure craft.
The manufacturer of the Baudo Yacht is a small shipyard owned by a reclusive and eccentric Aqualish named Mendel Baudo. His company produces every ship he makes on a custom-order basis, implementing each customer's requirements to produce a yacht that is both functional and opulent. The basic capabilities and external appearance of each vessel remain the same, but the internal amenities can differ vastly from ship to ship.
Baudo is a difficult being to find, and he accepts contracts only from people who are referred to him by his prior customers. He takes his time in the construction of each yacht, and he has been known to spend an entire standard year on a ship in an effort to get things precisely right. It is rumored that he keeps a couple of completed ships on hand for less discerning buyers, but he almost always insists on creating each ship to order.

Capabilities [ ]
As far as star yachts go, the Baudo is a standard example of conspicuous consumption. No single Baudo is identical with any other one; each is built according to the requirements and specifications of it's buyer. The differences rarely affect the performance of the vessel; rather, they embellish the ship's luxury and appeal in ways that only the original owners will appreciate. One Baudo might have the internal bulkheads lined in polished hardwood and precious metals, while another might include a full bar complete with rare spirits from every system in the Core Worlds .
Though relatively fast given its size, the Baudo is more attuned to a slow and steady pace. It doesn't accelerate particularly quick at sublight speeds, and it features only a Class 2 Hyperdrive . Despite these deficiencies, Baudos are simple to operate, and even amateur Pilots find the controls easy to use. It's weapon and defense systems include only a single Laser Cannon and modest Starship Shields .

Background and History
As a sporting yacht, the ship was mostly used as a pleasure vehicle by affluent beings. Baudos were not beloved by most bulk freighter pilots, who disliked being passed on the spacelanes. The ship itself was described as having a resemblance to some sea creatures. Baudo-class yachts were equipped with a powerful sublight drive for good speed in normal space. The single laser cannon in the standard version of the yacht was not only installed for looks—several precise hits could make pirates change their minds. The Baudo-class yacht was produced by the shipyards owned by Mendel Baudo, and each ship was custom-built to the specifications of its owner. This meant that each ship was unique in some way from all others, although the underlying drive systems remained common.

Luxury 3000 Space Yacht
When style's your name and comfort's your game, look no further than the Luxury 3000 space yacht when you want to travel the stars. The sleek, precision-crafted starship hails from one of the finest starship manufacturers in the galaxy. It has spacious interiors, often modified for the heights of opulence. Such vessels are not typically armed -- besides, weapons would ruin its graceful lines -- but in the unpredictable and rambunctious sectors of the Outer Rim, skippers often equip their yachts with defenses. In some cases, they even conceal laser cannons in the existing sensor ports and communication masts as to not mar the ship's beauty.

Maybe they should call it Starboard Wars.
What started out as “a bit of fun,” according to creative director Rob Armstrong, has become an annual tradition for the yacht designers at Thirtyc . Every year, the UK-based firm puts out a Star Wars -themed yacht, with characters or spacecraft from the franchise on board different superyachts. This week, in celebration of the unofficial Star Wars Day (May the 4th Be With You), Thirtyc released its latest series using yacht tenders driven by Star Wars characters.

“We did our first one when we opened the studio in 2015,” Armstrong told Robb Report . “We felt like we were injecting a bit of fun into our industry. Most of us knew Star Wars while growing up, so it seemed like a good way to add some light humor to what can sometimes become very serious superyacht projects.”
Seeing a storm trooper and Darth Vader on a million-dollar tender isn’t an everyday occurrence. Neither is catching a glimpse of Princess Leia or Chewbacca driving away on another tender.
The Star Wars tribute, with Starfighters and other spacecraft aboard superyachts, has proven so popular that Thirtyc has expanded to smaller tenders. Thirtyc Studio
At first, the firm received a lot of compliments about their whimsical but highly realistic work. “As it spoke to peoples’ imaginations, they started asking us to use their boats,” says Armstrong. Soon, Star Wars vehicles like AT-AT Walkers and Starfighters appeared on superyacht helipads and rear decks.
Recent superyachts transporting either Galactic Empire or Rebel vehicles included SilverFast, Eclipse , and many of the Damen support vessels, says Armstrong, who credits “great” marine photographers for providing the images. The team at ThirtyC also agonizes over the images to make them as realistic as possible, monitoring the way light falls from the yachts as well as figures standing on the smaller yacht tenders.
The UK designers have also included some Game of Thrones motifs on other superyachts. Thirtyc
“We create image composites with the Star Wars theme, placing props and vehicles within the images,” says Armstrong. “Some of the characters were 3-D-modeled and placed to match the image. We want the shadows to look right on the boats.”
This year’s Star Wars vehicle list includes the Pascoe SY9 Beachlander, Hodgdon 10.5m Venetian Limo Tender, Cockwells Titian Tender, Wally Tender 48 and Vandal 14m Open chase boat.
Armstrong says the annual exercise is a morale-builder for the team, and shows the yachting industry how creative the Thirtyc team can be. “The goal is to make people look twice so they don’t know if it’s real or not,” he says.

The Star Wars exercise has become so popular that Thirtyc has expanded its portfolio to Game of Thrones, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, and last year’s anniversary of the first lunar landing. The Apollo space capsule was set, appropriately, on the helipad of the 377-ft. expedition yacht, Luna.
Armstrong says the team is already discussing what next year’s Star Wars theme will be. “Each year’s a challenge to think up a new angle for our audience and friends,” he says. “We’ll be brainstorming, but all ideas are welcome.”

A piece of technological art, the Minstrel-class Space Yacht is a prime example of the artistic creativity that certain ship developers have put into their creations. A ship for the wealthy, the space yacht is far from defenseless; it is one of the few in its class that is capable of storing a small number of starfighters to increase its defensive capabilities. It was originally designed during the waning days of the Old Republic as a possible competitor to the Nubian ships. While it had only moderate success due to its design whereas the polished look attracted many wealthy senators, the Minstrel-class Space Yacht was more favored by those who saw the benefits of having a ship capable of surviving a collision with more than a fist-sized asteroid. The sleek design accompanied by the appealing standard colour has drawn in many customers who were seeking more than a sleek, fast, unarmed ship better suited for show than force. During the tumultuous times that were spawned by the conflict between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, the sales increased because of the rising demand for combat-worthy ships for those who wanted to be safe in a galaxy torn apart by Civil War.

Starwind-class Pleasure Yacht
The Starwind class Yacht was originally based on a light freighter design intended to challenge the popular YT series. In mid-design however, it was altered to appeal more to the upper scale of the market, moving away from the freighter design and becoming a luxury space yacht. The Starwind class has a stronger hull than most ships constructed for civilian recreational use, but it has been most commonly accepted that they appeal mostly to those with more credits than sense. At sublight speed the yacht is slow and cumbersome and the weaponry leaves much to be desired. The only thing that the Starwind does have going for it is the amount of luxury put into the interior design. Along with the regular crew quarters, there are several staterooms, intended for the owner and his guests. There is also a dining room, a zero-G relaxation chamber, a sensory deprivation chamber and a fully equipped holotheatre. The escape pod also has several luxurious features that endear it to the higher spending beings in the galaxy who couldn't bear the thought of being marooned in space without their usual specialized needs, and so that there can be no misunderstanding, the crew boards the ship through a small hatch on the port side of the ship, whilst the owner and other passengers enter the ship over a large boarding ramp on the starboard side of the ship.

‘star wars battlefront classic collection’ review: neverlasting love.
Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is available from March 14 on PC and consoles, but don't ... [+] expect to play one another via crossplay.
Aspyr’s mission in 2024 can potentially be boiled down to two words: “target millennials.” Hot on the heels of its fantastic Tomb Raider I-III Remastered –a brilliant modernization that gave Lara Croft the love she deserved–the (re)developer has now applied a similar treatment to the original Star Wars: Battlefront games . It’s only March.
In many ways, Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection –which was only announced three weeks ago during Nintendo Direct –is even truer to its source material than Tombs Raider was. It feels more like a scaled-up port than a remaster, but why mess with mid-2000s nostalgia? EA already tried to remake the series and look what happened .
Still, Aspyr has overlooked the most crucial element for this remaster’s success–and all its hard work may disappear into the ether in a matter of weeks, at least on consoles. It’s an obvious factor that could’ve been predicted by any millennial, and I should know– of course I know them. They’re me.
Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection kicks off in stark contrast to Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, which offered reimagined, delightfully stacked menu screens; instead, you land on a dull image to choose your game. There isn’t even a bit of John Williams in the background–it’s completely silent. First impressions aren’t Aspyr’s focus, and it’s a bit of a shame.
Yet after just a few minutes, concerns are put to bed. Star Wars: Battlefront and Battlefront II have been faithfully upscaled to glorious 60fps, with impressive textures. The controls, with tweaking, feel solid. Even the FMVs are preserved in their delightful glory–pre-update clips from the I-III trilogy are arguably the best blast from the past, because George Lucas has remastered them at least twice since the games’ releases. It’s a time capsule in more ways than one.
Best High-Yield Savings Accounts Of 2024

If you’ve played the originals, Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection reminds you of the genuine grandeur that both games delivered in spades. Stages are small but perfectly formed, whether it’s the alleys of Mos Eisley, the frozen plains of Hoth, or the open-space battles in Y-Wings, TIE Fighters, and improbably good Republic gunships. Pandemic Studios continues to deserve the praise it received in the 00s; no Star Wars title since Battlefront II has delivered moments quite like those scrambles to defend a crap base on Kashyyyk, or having to dodge gunfire while running around an ice-cold AT-AT as Snowspeeders attempt to rope it up.
Immovable object, meet underarmed trooper.
Still, memories of offline nights in the noughties loom large on these Battlefront remasters. It’s hard to suppress a wry smile knowing that newcomers are going to jump into these faithfully recreated campaigns, because they will get to experience just how hilariously unbalanced these can be.
The campaign mode is, largely, fair–friend and foe numbers stay roughly competitive if you know what you’re doing–but that’s only because you’re the team’s tank, slaughtering dozens of enemies on every playthrough. You will never enjoy a better kill-death ratio. Even with this knowledge, you’re taken on a journey that wildly yanks you from one extreme to another.
Good lord, the Battlefront AI sucks. Teammates stand that little bit too far away from capture points to help you advance. They regularly run in front of your line of fire, making you the constant leading team-killer. In the right position, snipers can pick off static respawns until they run out of ammo. Enemies favor you as the main target, and who can blame them? You’re the prime weapon–something underlined by the regular end-of-stage realization that you managed to kill more people than an actual Jedi by a five-to-one ratio.
Occasionally, both Battlefronts offer up stages so unfairly difficult that you cheese and camp your way through them–Geonosis and the Jedi Temple are a game of luck rather than skill. It reminds you that OG Battlefront was something best experienced with real people, and here lies the biggest problem with Aspyr’s remaster.
Getting cross at multiplayer
Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is not cross-platform–well, not really. Sure, Xbox Series X players can play with Xbox One players, and PS4 and PS5 gamers can take each other on, but you can’t fight one another. As a result, you can bet the only full, 64-player lobby on consoles will happen in the first week. Without PS Plus or Game Pass backing, it just won’t last.
PC gamers will hopefully carry Aspyr’s vision through 2024 and beyond– the original Battlefront and Battlefront II are still supported by GameRanger following GameSpy’s closure, but nothing beats a straightforward, faithful update to a beloved past master, even if the oldest surviving PCs run the originals with ease. That’s what Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection delivers, and it’s great to see a legend get its moment in the sun once more, with a new generation of players joining the action.
Sure, you can be at the top of your game, but could you defeat the Empire on a Tuesday night in Mos ... [+] Eisley?
Admittedly, there are more minor things that it could’ve tweaked without affecting the core gameplay. Auto-aim continues to overcompensate; menus could be clearer, helping you understand how to select power-ups or giving more information on power-ups and classes; controls remain an annoyance, with limited options to remap, at least on consoles.
Still, Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is a remaster for a reason, and it’s faithful and brilliant in equal measure. Does it feel like a mid-2000s FPS? Yes. Is that a bad thing? No–but without further work to introduce true crossplay, console gamers will see their investment transform from a flash-in-the-pan multiplayer experience into a single-player nostalgia trip in a matter of weeks. Sentimentality just doesn’t carry game popularity in 2024, but please, please let this one prove me wrong.

Best classes for every faction in Star Wars: Battlefront Classic
In Star Wars: Battlefront Classic , players have a handful of class options to choose from on each of the four factions. Each class comes with its own set of weapons and gadgets that fit a unique playstyle.
Before getting into the discussion about which is best, remember you should just play the class that brings you the most joy. Personally, I enjoy any engineer class in Battlefront 2 because I think the shotgun is wildly overpowered and I can drop health and ammo. And, of course, it goes without saying that none of these classes feel as fun as the heroes.
Still, if you want to run into battle with the best, these are our choices for the best classes in each game of Star Wars: Battlefront Classic .
Best Imperial classes in Star Wars: Battlefront Classic
In the original Battlefront , the Dark Trooper is the best class for playing the Empire. One of the most frustrating aspects of the first Battlefront is the lack of a sprint option, which the Dark Trooper makes up for with a very fast jetpack. The Dark Trooper also uses the Blast Cannon shotgun, which packs a punch at close distances, and you can easily close the gap between you and an enemy with your jetpack.
In Battlefront 2 though, the Dark Trooper’s main weapon is replaced with an Arc Cannon that just doesn’t pack the same punch. If you don’t like the standard Stormtrooper, go with the class that fits your style: Engineer for up close, or Sharpshooter for distance.
Best Rebel classes in Star Wars: Battlefront Classic
The Wookie Smuggler is the best class in the first Battlefront . With a Bowcaster that can fire single shots or be charged to fire a barrage of bolts, plus a grenade launcher and timed explosives, the Wookiee is as destructive as it is hairy.
In Battlefront 2 , the Bothan Spy is a very fun but high-risk/high-reward character. They have a stealth ability that lets them get up close, an up-close Incinerator that lights up close enemies, plus the ability to increase health regeneration to allies around them.
Best Republic/clone classes in Star Wars: Battlefront Classic
There are not a lot of great options for clones in the first Battlefront , so I would suggest just using the standard Clone Trooper . The default rifle is a solid choice for hitting a Droideka quickly while it’s still in ball form. In Battlefront 2 , I have a fond affinity for the Clone Commander special class. The automatic Chaingun can tear through droids once it gets going, and a well-timed Rally ability can give a major boost to a conquest victory.
Best CIS/droid classes in Star Wars: Battlefront Classic
The best droid class in both Battlefront and Battlefront 2 is the Droideka , and there’s really no debate here. Once it gets out of roller mode and you’ve got your bubble shield active and your twin blasters firing, there’s not a lot taking it down.
