We had an amazing time at La Vela Asian restaurant! Chef Lucia and Luis Ada Mari and Esmeralda were all amazing! So entertaining and food was amazing as well! Rafael at the beach at Royal Sunset is always so accommodating and a great person!

Great pool, great Japanese restaurant (with some restrictions - below) and great music performer. We left Ocean Spa to eat at the Marina due to the low food quality on the first. However, it was not all flowers. The staff initially was kind of resistant with comments like “this is too much food” or “are you sure you want more” and we were not used to that. Definitely a demotion on service for my family. After going there on the second day of our trip, maybe 2 days straight ordering the SAME EXACT THING, they “ran out of eel” for the remaining of our trip (14 days)… disappointing to say the least! There is also a point: there is no beach at this location. It would definitely make a difference. Thanks Sabrina

This is a beautiful location. It is very peaceful and relaxing. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff were nice. The food quality did not match the all inclusive ticket price. We had a nice vacation being together as a family. But I would not return because there are better places out there for the price of this one!

As a family that grew up in the hospitality industry, a few employees really stood out. Hector was amazing! He made it feel like he was hosting you in his own home, at every meal. He was working double shifts and brought the same energy and passion. Catherine in concierge and Carolina at the desk were extremely helpful and were checking on us throughout our stay and set us up for the best experiences around the area. The place was very clean and gave us peace of mind during our 11 days there. Though no beach access here, it was easy to get to a sister resort with full ocean access and views. This was a great holiday for our family - if you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed.

Annual family holiday trip to Cancun was great once again! We stayed at the Marina this year and went over to the Royal during the day to get our beach time. The shuttle is only every 2 hours now and is pretty packed which wasn't the most enjoyable, so hoping they start doing it hourly again - but the drivers are always great. Water taxi is a great option as well! The service at the Royal did not seem to be as outstanding as we've had in years past - but a few amazing staff members always stand out to us. Starting with the Royal- Raphael, the beach/pool manager goes above and beyond to accommodate our large family and ensure everyone is happy. Rodolfo, the beach waiter, is extremely kind and polite and so helpful. Roberto, our breakfast waiter in the aquarium buffet is one of the hardest workers we've met and is also so kind and helpful. Back to the Marina- the bartenders were absolutely outstanding. Mexico, Geovani, Lluvia and Brenda were all extremely kind, accommodating and so eager to please - they made our afternoons so enjoyable. The activities staff were so fun - Dafne is the sweetest girl with such a kind heart, we were so excited to see her again as we knew her from the Royal from past years. She went above and beyond to ensure we were always smiling. Our waiter, Ada, at La Vela restaurant worked extremely hard through the busy nights, especially accommodating to our large family - she was great! I would highly recommend eating there, great food and wonderful staff. Jose Luis was so helpful in ensuring our bags were to and from our rooms quickly, and always greeted us with a big smile. The young man at the front desk, I think his name was Rodolfo, was so sweet and helpful - very patient with us and always smiling and waving each time we passed by. Overall such a great trip and we will be back soon!

This place was not a good experience! Upon arrival they lumped us in a group with other people based on our race! The food was not good and the service was subpar. You get what you pay for so spend the extra to get the experience you deserve.

We had no plan to visit this place, as I saw some reviews on TA. I would say 4.5 but not 4. So they’ll get a bit more. Why? The service was very helpful and friendly. On girl was there her second day and she really did her best. They made extra safe food for our son, who has allergy. The food was tasty and portions great. Free digestive with the bill was nice to;)

We arrived here by chance, no planning, but what i can say is that the service was better than any other restaurant in corralejo we have been so far. We had paella and some starters. Absolutely delicious. They also gave us a bottle of wine with the paella which I wasn’t very keen because I thought it would be something cheap but we received a local wine very good. Everything was perfect, highly recommended.

Only popped in for a drink as it was €1 for a large beer until 10pm (cheapest in corralejo by far),the setting is great and the place is spotlessly clean. People eating seemed happy so must assume all is good on that front too.

I come here for drink sangria. The first i need to wait more than 10min for waiter. Then another 10min for sangria. It wasn't nothing special. I can buy better in hipper dino.

“Custodi, Domine, Vigilantes”

Yacht Club Veneziano, original name, has been finally turned to the actual “Compagnia Della Vela” , following the italian poet Gabriele D’Annunzio suggestion, written on a personal letter forwarded to On. Giovanni Giuriati (vice president). Gabriele D’Annunzio was at that time on the of the most modern and rapresentative writer, poet, leader of the Italian state renovation cultural project: he proposed the ver lasting motto, following the initials C.D.V. (Compagnia Della Vela) as “Custodi, Domine, Vigilantes”.

Compagnia Della Vela has been appointed by the King Vittorio Emanuele to fly the club flag “Guidone Sociale”, honouring the “Stemma Reale” (Royal Ensign) and “Bandiera Nazionale di Guerra” (Navy combact ensign). The ensigns would allow the Compagnia Della Vela to have special previliges.

Venetian Sailing Clubs partnership

Dinghy sail for young memeber is one of the most important target of the Compagnia: the path starts from first approach to sail, following to pre race activity and proper sail race. The youth training center branch in Punta Sabbioni was started in 1990, with the full support of Mr Raul Gardini. The location is strategic because the access to the open sea is much closer than Isola di San Giorgio. More Yacht Clubs in Venezia take part and join the facilities for sail training, therefore the name of the branch is SoCiVe. This forward looking strategy, aimed to open the collaboration to other clubs, led to significant results, both in national and international events. The plot of land in Punta Sabbioni is now owned by Compagnia Della Vela, the area is 5.000 sqm and facilities ranges from toilets, showers, covered rooms and storage, trolleys and minivan parking, ribs and outboards. Federazione Italiana Vela has appointed the SoCiVe as Centro Zonale (Veneto area to teach sailing).

The staff is leaded by a Direttore Tecnico and formed by a group of instructors. Actual name has been turned to Centro Velico Agonistico, Ottavio Ghetti .

Here follows a list of top athlets which have been raised to prestigious results: Marta PIZZARELLO national team of Europa class / Paolo TREVISANATO and Cesare BOZZETTI winners of various national races with 470, leading the ranking list for years, Cesare BOZZETTI joined Mascalzone Latino crew in 2007 America’s Cup event in Valencia / Adriano GUARNIERI member of the national team for Optimist / Pier Filppo BARISON member of the national team fro Optimist and scored 3rd at Europenan championships in 2007 with 420 dinghy. / Giacomo BALDIN attending the Olimpycs in Athen / Alessandra MORETTO WIEL italian champin on 420 boat and first of the italians competitors at the worls championships in Buenos Aires 2011 / Matteo and Giacomo PELLICCIOLI winners of several italian and local championships . A special mention is reserved on the 2010 and 2011 years: Silvia ZENNARO with Europa class and Ruggero TITA with 49r, chianed a long list of victories. Silvia ZENNARO won the World Championship in Europa Class division and led the zonal championships in Laser radial class in 2011.

Laura COSENTINO and Silvia ZENNARO took part to the Olympics in Rio 2016 racing with Radial Laser.

The total number of members is approx 600. Special mention is for Dodo Gorla , internationally rewarded as Star Class legend: winner of 2 olimpyc medals, world and national champion , national champion on Asso 99 class,Mr Alex Carozzo , Mr Cino Ricci skipper of the first italian campaign to the Amercia’s Cup in Freemantle and Mr Paul Cayard , skipper of the Moro di Venezia italian campaign of the America’s cup 1992 and many more.

Passed away members:

• On. Giovanni Giuriati ministry and high profile politic at the beginning of 19th century.
• On. Giuseppe Volpi di Misurata deputy, ambassadorand main manager who started and leaded the industrial renovation of Venice mainland in the 30’s.
• On. Co. Gaetano Marzotto, founder and leader of the industril and textile company.
• Amm. Romolo Polacchini, legendary Captain of the naval center of submarins “Betasom” in Bordeaux, durng the 2nd world war.
• Antonio Marceglia gold medal for Military reward, the heor leader of the legendary attack to Alessandria d’Egitto in 1941.
• Raul Gardini CEO of the Ferruzzi Company, winner of the Maxy Yacht Worls Cup 1988, America’s Cup Class World Championships, winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup in 1992 and contender of the America’s Cup in San Diego.
• Bruno Visentini former Ministry of the Republic and President of Fondazione Cini.

CONI (Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano) has appionted the Compagnia Della Vela with the most prestigious title : “Stella d’Argento al merito Sportivo” in 1990 / whilste the “Stella d’Oro al merito Sportivo” has been assigned personally by the President of the Republic in 1995. This was due to the relevant list of results scored in its history and for the ability to organize and manage high profile sport events. The most recent award is the “Colare d’Oro al Merito Sportivo”, issued by the CONI, which is the overall most prestigious of the honours to be appointed to a Italian Sport Club. Surpisingly the waward was issued matching the 100 years of activity of the Compagnia.

The Royal Yacht Squadroon and the New York Yacht Club organized a special sailing event “America’s Cup Jubille” in 2001: Compagnia Della Vela was invited to take part and sail a yacht flying the Guidone Sociale, as contender of the final races in 1992 in San Diego. The first 100 years of the Compagnia Della Vela activity have been celebrated in 2011 with important events and meetings held all over the year.

Ristorazione

Il banchetto nuziale sarà organzizato e gestito dalla nostra cucina, che metterà in tavola i sapori e gli aromi della tradizione mediterranea e partenopea. Gli chef realizzeranno menù su misura, anche per vegetariani, vegani, celiaci, diabetici, ipertesi, allergici e intolleranti, che vi sorprenderanno per la qualità degli ingredienti selezionati e per l’eleganza della presentazione. Su richiesta specifica degli sposi, il menù della cerimonia, potrà essere affidato a Chef stellati.

The windy Russian autumn weather might be a little bit tricky for sailing, but it doesn’t stop brave yachtsmen from all over the world from flocking to Russian capital in the beginning of September when the Moscow Yacht Show commences. The main Russian Yacht exhibition gathers professional and amateur yacht lovers together under the wing of The Royal Yacht Club.

This year it took place for a fourth time already. The exhibition is considered the principal event on the sporting and social calendar. The Moscow Yacht Show 2010 united in one area three of the largest Russian yachts distributors: Ultramarine, Nordmarine and Premium Yachts.

A wide range of yachts were on display for a week. An exhibition showcased yachts both from Russian manufacturers and world famous brands: Azimut, Princess, Ferretti, Pershing, Riviera, Doral, Linssen, etc.

It was a real feast for seafarers as visitors of the show had a unique chance not only to take a look at the newest superyachts before they hit the market, but also to evaluate their driving advantages during the test drive. The show provided an excellent opportunity for yacht enthusiasts to choose and buy a new boat for the next season.

The event started with the grandiose gala evening. It included grand dinner, the concert and professional awards ceremony for achievements in Russian yachting industry. The guests also enjoyed the annual regatta.

Special guest Paolo Vitelli, Azimut Benetti Group president, opened the evening.

Next year organizers assured guests they would bring more yachts, the scale of which will even make oligarch Roman Abramovich envious. Sounds very promising indeed.

In Russia, the western concept of building architecturally beautiful golf courses filled with modern and luxurious amenities has found fertile ground. What was considered a frivolous pastime during the time of the Soviets has become the latest trend for the stylish set. These days, there are countless options around Moscow to practice golf, polo, ski, yachting, and other sports alongside 5-star hotels, luxurious country houses, and magnificent villas.

The game of golf is a sport that requires passion and expertise. It is also part of a culture that considers this pastime a synonym of social prestige and exclusivity. In recent years, the new Russian elite has turned to golf as a vehicle of integration in the era of globalization. Golf courses are also meeting and socializing spaces where Muscovite tycoons can relax and also seal business deals.

Golf Courses in Russia

The Moscow Country Club, Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club, Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club, and Zavidovo Golf Club, PGA National Russia are some of the most exclusive and elegant golf courses in Russia. Some of them have made it to the list of Top 15 golf clubs in the world, a source of great prestige for the country.

Moscow Country Club Moscow Country Club

The first 18-hole golf course built in Russia, Moscow Country Club, hosts the exclusive PGA European Tour. Located just eight miles from the city center, this luxurious facility was created by architect Robert Trent Jones Jr . The design takes advantage of a typical Russian birch and spruce forest to provide a natural environment of extraordinary beauty.

Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club

The Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is 18 miles from the heart of Moscow, close to historical monuments from the 17th and 18th centuries. Designed by famed architects Paul and Dave Thomas , this 18-hole course is part of a complex that includes a yacht club, an equestrian center, and a health and wellness facility. Pestovo Golf & Yacht Club is Russia’s version of a classic country club with multiple attractions.

Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club

This park is among the best in Eastern Europe and was awarded the 2014 World Golf Award as the best golf course in Russia. Located 25 miles from Moscow, it is part of a vast complex featuring an 18-hole golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus , a polo club and a mountain ski club with four tracks. The design combines classic Scottish, Alpine, and English features in a dreamy landscape.

Zavidovo Golf Club, PGA National Russia Zavidovo Golf Club, PGA National Russia

Less than 60 miles from Moscow, this golf course with a definite Scottish design is the only one in Russia recognized as a PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) from Britain and Ireland. Located in an ecologically pristine area on the banks of the Volga River, the Zavidovo Golf Club embodies the spirit and appearance of the legendary Scottish golf courses. Its many springs and streams, hills, forests, swamps and lakes justify its reputation as a very demanding circuit. Last year, it entered the exclusive club of the 15 best golf courses in the world.   ■
