Port Blair to Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep):

Makruzz was launched in Andaman Islands in the year 2002 and has been running successfully ever since.

This is a Catamaran twin hull vessel with the fastest cruising speed in Andaman Islands i.e 32 nautical miles, thanks to its dual engine. For maximum comfort and safety the cruise is usually run at 23-25 nautical miles.

The broadened two hull design offers great stability and safety during high speed cruising & travel during unfavorable weather, this lets you enjoy meals and beverages without having to think about uncomfortable movements.

Cruise Amenities:

Makruzz has a clean and beautiful contemporary interiors with comfortable foam embedded seating and a great interior ambiance for comfortable travel.

There are large windows on each side with low bezels that provide a scenic view of the sea during your travel. The panels are designed in such a way that they run to the top and allow all passengers to enjoy the open sea view.

Entertainment:

For entertainment during your travel, the vessel is equipped with a 42" television that shows different shows and information about the place you are about to visit.

Deluxe class passengers can enjoy their time with 4, 19" televisions present on both upper and lower deck while the Royal class passengers are provided with 2, 14" televisions for a total 8 seating's that give a premium travel experience.

The vessel is well-equipped with different kinds of snacks and beverages that appeals to different age groups. The kiosk is run through the entire area, so you can get what you'd like easily.

For Premium and Deluxe class passengers, meal is complimentary and provided without any additional costs.

There are three locations where Makruzz provides the transportation: Port Blair, Havelock and Neil.

This vessel comes with 3 classes for its guests, which offer different levels of comfort, amenities and service.

• Deluxe Class

Premium Class:

Premium Class in Makruzz is the standard for traveling and comes with comfortable seating's and standard entertainment. There are a total of 208 seats in this class, so getting tickets is easy.

Although, meals are not included in tickets for this, they can be bought in vessel by calling the staff when they are running the kiosk.

Deluxe Class:

Deluxe class offers a better travel experience with dedicated staff, better and more soft seating's with 4 TV's for better view.

There are 64 seats in this class, which allows for less congested seating's and more leg room, but the tickets sell fast, so make sure you book it in advance.

The best part is that, the ticket comes with a complimentary meal during the voyage, so you can enjoy the continental food while traveling.

Royal Class:

Royal class offers the best service and experience and is recommended for travelers who like travel with comfort.

Spacious and comfortable seating with extra log room space and two chairs per window makes the experience wonderful.

The royal class has dedicated staff that cater to all you needs and a free complimentary meal is provided with every booking.

There are only 8 seats in this class, so make sure you book the ticker in advance to avoid missing out.

With the beautiful yet sometimes ravaging Indian ocean, safety during your voyage is of utmost importance. Makruzz comes with advanced level security that meets the standards of International safety in 'life-saving', 'fire fighting', 'communication' and 'navigational', this vessel leaves no space for errors.

The complete cruise is equipped with smoke and fire detectors, and the design of the vessel is fire retardant, including the seats, to help control the fire in place.

Evacuation:

Makruzz boasts a proper Marine Evacuation System with reversible type lift-rafts, capable of handling medium to high waves and staying straight. Moreover, life jackets are present under every seat, so you can quickly use them in case of an emergency.

Navigation and Communication:

Navigation and communication is managed by advanced operational machinery with precise handling and a central announcement system.

Mak is fully capable of receiving weather, metro-logical, and emergency warnings, with precise equipment capable of sending and receiving distress signals.

Besides this, an safety video is shown after you board the ship, prior to departure, so you can learn more about the options, and make the right decision when it's needed.

Terms of Booking:

• Report at the jetty one hour prior to departure.
• Check-in closes 20 minutes before the departure time.
• Boarding closes 10 minutes before departure time.
• A valid photo ID is required for check-in.

Charges and Surcharges:

• A 100 Rupees surcharge is added to the ticket from 15 December to 15 January.

General Information:

• Children from 0-1 Years are considered a child and the ticket price is Rs. 30
• Children above 2 years of age is charged the full amount.
• Peak season charges are added to the ticket @ Rs.105 per person from Dec 01 to Jan 30.
• Make sure to arrive 20 minutes early to the Jetty.
• Please keep your ID cards and tickets accessible during boarding.
• In case of online booking a scanned PDF is sent to your email which can be used to board Makruzz.
• Meals are free for Deluxe and Royal class passengers.
• Last minute change in sail times can be done in case of bad weather.

Booking Policy:

• Valid Identity proof of all passengers is needed to book the ticket.
• Id proof may include: Aadhar Card, PAN Card, and Passport.
• The complete amount is payable during the booking.
• Booking confirmation is received in under and hour.

Refund Policy:

• Cancel 15 days before the sail to get full refund.

Scattered across the ocean like pearl and sapphire drops are the 572 stunning islands that make up the Andaman archipelago.

There are many islands with magnificently pristine white beaches, some several kilometers long with not a single footprint on them..

Instead of tourists and deck chairs on the beach, you will see wildlife, like monkeys, deer, birds, to name just a few. World Heritage Site

Declared a world heritage site in 2002, the andaman archipelago is an unbelievably, beautiful paradise destination., the world’s best diving and snorkeling.

W ith a choice of over 300 islands to visit, you can find some of the world’s best diving and snorkeling, without the crowds of other world class dive destinations. Few dive spots have been discovered by visiting charter yachts, leaving most locations as yet unvisited by anyone. The most exciting diving awaits those who venture into this wonderland of adventure, impressing even the most seasoned divers.

The abundance of fish is astronomical and so is the size they grow to; that’s because the Andaman Islands only opened up to foreigners in the late 1990’s. In 2001 there were only 3 flights a week from mainland India.

There has never been any commercial fishing and there is still none today. The only fishing is done by locals with hand lines and some sport fishing boats who mainly practice catch and release. Because of these factors, the fish stocks have not been depleted and fish can grow to their full size in abundant quantities; the variety and quantity being truly amazing. There are all the usual tropical reef fish, but also many pelagic’s; huge tunas, king mackerels, wahoo’s, and different species of sharks.

The Andaman Islands are also a heaven for Mantas. They are found in great numbers throughout the islands during certain seasons. During the many dives we have made in the Andaman Islands, we have found many so called Manta Cleaning Stations, where Mantas stop to get cleaned, whilst obligingly posing for a lucky client’s camera. Whale sharks, dolphins and even whales can be spotted in these waters. There are many varied dive spots to be found. Some with tropical coral reefs and a white sandy bottom, others on the volcanic islands, with black sandy sea beds and colourful soft corals, giving the dive spots a surreal touch. Due to the Andaman Island’s remoteness and protected status, as a World Heritage Site, there is little commercial development, resulting in superb visibility often exceeding 40 meters.

Imagine diving at the foot of Barren Island (an active volcano), where the sea drops down to a thousand meters, and watching Mantas and other large fish passing by in crystal clear water with no other divers but your buddies around.

Catamaran Nakamal is fully equipped for prolonged stays at remote areas. With two dive compressors and a professional PADI dive instructor on board we cater to every diver’s need. Which Cruise To Select In Andaman Islands?

Cruises for Andaman at the very outset can be categorized into two types. One cruise would be to travel to Andaman from various ports of the mainland. There are actually three major ports from which ships travel to Andaman: Kolkata, Chennai and Vishakhapatnam. There would be the other type of cruise where you will need to travel between the various islands once you reach Port Blair. Port Blair is the capital of Andaman and there are beautiful and major islands that are scattered all around without visiting which your trip would be absolutely incomplete. Each of these islands carry their own distinctive identity and presents a gorgeous and unique face of nature and inhabitants, culture and beauty that is mesmerizing and unforgettable.

Local cruises are quite important for the locals as well as the tourists for inter-island transfers. Since each piece of land is surrounded by ocean, these local ferries comprise the only mode of transport to reach the different islands of Andamans. You can find both private and government-run cruises or ferries for the transfer of people and even goods. These ferries mainly connect the three major islands of the Andaman archipelago: Port Blair , Havelock Island and Neil Island .

Cruises in Andamans

Here goes the names of the major cruise companies in Andamans that sail across the oceans connecting one island to another: Makruzz, Green Ocean, ITT Majestic , Sea Link, and Government Ferries.

These private cruises have various degrees of luxury or comfort or budget seating that can be usually categorized Economy, Premium, Deluxe and Royal or Luxury. Along with the experience of travelling in that cruise in each category, the prices also differ. The economy and premium categories are usually pocket-friendly and the seating will be at the lower deck of the cruise from a position which might not offer the best of views. The Deluxe category will be comparatively expensive but gives an vast expansive view of the sea and the comfort of ride and the seating arrangement is little better than Economy and Premium categories.

• The Luxury or Royal class provides a very comfortable seating arrangement but is definitely more expensive than the other previously mentioned categories. It has better facilities, good comfortable seats, but is limited in capacity with a few number of seats.
• Makruzz is very well known among passengers for its high-speed. It is the most popular Catamaran Passenger Ferry and successfully runs a prominent ferry service in the Andaman Islands to the satisfaction of hundreds of passengers commuting regularly everyday among the main islands of the archipelago. Among the four odd cruise services that operate in the area, Makruzz is the largest brand in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands . It operates under the names: Makruzz, Makruzz Gold, Pearl, and Makruzz Coastal Cruise. These cruises are fully air-conditioned and are thus quite comfortable for national and international passengers. The seating and the facilities depend on the category or class chosen or the money spent on ticket fare, that is.
• The Deluxe category is slightly expensive but has a better seating capacity and gives the passenger an elevated and better view of the sea. Deluxe in Makruzz has two decks- Base Deck and Upper Deck. One drawback of choosing Makruzz cruises is that you will not be able to choose your seats. It follows the first-come-first-serve basis and the seating will be allotted this way only.
• Green Ocean 1 & 2 are the two cruises that have an open area for the passengers to move about and offer an attractive view of the open seas everywhere. This might lure many travellers who are keen on enjoying nature as no other cruise has this facility. Green Ocean 1 might be identified as the slowest cruise with an open area but it is also the cheapest cruise operating in these parts. This cruise has a dance floor and music wherein you can dance and have fun during your journey. The exterior and interior of the Green Ocean 1 varies from Green Ocean 2 in terms of comfort, arrangement of seats and services offered. Green Ocean 2 has an upper deck and a lower deck and the seating capacity is limited. It has a higher speed vessel and modern design and aesthetics for higher speed. Whether you can enjoy the view of the sea will depend upon the seats chosen while booking your tickets.
• ITT Majestic is similarly a high-speed catamaran that has an attractive appearance and structure which somewhat resembles Makruzz cruises. ITT Majestic and Makruzz Pearl are among the fastest cruises in terms of cruising between the Andaman Islands. The ITT Majestic gives you the opportunity to choose your seats while booking your tickets. The seating is limited and the usual categories are present in terms of facility and ticket price.
• Sea Link operates some high-speed cruise ferries that are imported from Singapore. It has considerable seating capacity and passengers can get seated on the Upper or the Lower Deck. This brand runs just one cruise that operates between the islands. You can choose your seats while booking your tickets. Sea Link is equally fast as the Green Ocean 2 but this Sea Link does not have an open deck to enjoy the sea breeze and the magical sunrays. Sea Link has also introduced Nautika from 2022. Nautika can be identified as the fastest ferry that sails from Havelock to Port Blair.
• Government Ferries are somewhat underrated and the credibility that they can also provide state-of-the-art services along with foolproof safety and security is little recognised. But in the long run government ferries are extremely reliable between the islands. These ferries have a sturdy built and take care of the locals and tourists alike. During rough weather, government ferries can be trusted. These ferries transfer people steadily and regularly from one island to another and prevents or avoids travellers getting stranded in any island. But there is a limitation that you would be able to manually book your tickets at the STARS counter at Port Blair. The Government ferries do not provide the provision of advanced booking of tickets or online booking of tickets. It is a real-time affair and availability of tickets at the counter can be checked only when you go to buy tickets and thus you run the risk of the tickets getting sold out. You then are at the risk of losing out on your journey and get contained in a particular island and miss your hotel booking and your itinerary goes haywire which would not have happened had you pre-booked in the other commercial liners. These are some of the tips you need to plan out carefully beforehand while at the planning stage. Pre-checks and pre-booking is essential for a hassle-free stay and travel in and around Andamans. Choose a complete package and avail an end-to-end package solution to be able to enjoy your Andaman trip and save time and effort while at your vacation.

Factors that affect or influence passenger choice while selecting a Cruise

• Travelers should choose their cruise based on their requirement for different island transfers. It can be a mix of cruises. • You can choose any cruise that you prefer based on the category that you want to take. If the requirement has a budget constraint then the Economy or Premium category should be chosen. If you are willing to spend more, you can go for Deluxe and if you do not have any budget issues then you can choose the Royal or Luxury category. Seat options can be chosen while booking.

Ferry Routes in Andaman

Andaman ferry booking schedule.

It's advisable to book ferry tickets in advance when travelling to the Andaman Islands, especially during the peak tourist season, to secure your seats and schedules. Last-minute bookings may be risky due to limited availability, so planning ahead is recommended for a smoother travel experience.

Different ferry operators have varying policies for infants:

• Makruzz and ITT Majestic: No charges for infants under 1 year.
• Green Ocean: No charges for infants under 2 years.
• Nautika/Nautika Lite: Infants under 2 years are not charged in full, but there is an INR 105 + 50 PSF fee per infant.

Booking directly through the ferry operator's official website grants access solely to their services and support. Conversely, Go2Andaman is a partnering platform that consolidates information from multiple operators, offering a broader array of choices, potential discounts, and superior user experiences and customer support.

The only ferry providing Open Deck Access is Green Ocean 1; all other ferries are fully enclosed, offering a panoramic view of the sea.

The distance between Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair and the boarding point for Private Ferries at Haddo Jetty is around 5 km. It takes approximately 15-30 minutes to reach there by auto-rickshaw or taxi. In case you plan to take the Government Ferry, you will have to go to Phoenix Bay Jetty, which is 10-20 minutes away.

Ferry seat categories offer different comfort levels, sea views, and legroom. The base category is like economy class on a flight and is below deck. The mid and upper categories are above deck and like business class on a flight.

We do not accept booking requests for routes from mainland India (such as Kolkata, Vizag, or Chennai) to Andaman, Little Andaman, or any restricted islands.

Book ferries for four routes: Port Blair to Havelock Island, Havelock Island to Neil Island, Neil Island to Port Blair and Havelock Island to Port Blair.

When you take a ferry, your luggage will be subjected to an X-ray scan for security purposes. Please note that only checked-in luggage can carry alcohol up to 1 liter per person. It is not allowed to carry alcohol in hand baggage. Additionally, you are allowed to carry small hand luggage and check-in luggage that weighs up to 25 KG per person.

If your travel date is within the next 7 days, one of our team members will contact you through phone, email, or WhatsApp to confirm the availability of your ticket, In such cases, you may be required to pay the remaining balance amount upfront to process your ticket.

After booking, confirmation of tickets may take up to 3-4 working hours during office hours, Monday to Sunday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

​The ferry operators maintain the authority to arrive at a final resolution for your concern, taking into account the details you have provided. As a standard practice, they are likely to suggest either purchasing a new ticket or extending their support in securing a seat on the next accessible ferry, usually for a small fee, subject to availability. 

Please ensure you have the following essential documents with you when boarding:

• Ferry Tickets
• Government-IDs (such as Aadhaar or Passport)

While it is advisable to have a printed ticket with you during the boarding process, it is not mandatory.

To ensure a smooth boarding process, we suggest arriving at the jetty at least 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time. If you're traveling with children or seniors, we recommend arriving 1 hour prior to departure. Please note that boarding gates close 30 minutes before departure, so please plan accordingly.

The Ferry Operators/Go2andaman will use the email and phone number provided at booking for communication regarding cancellations or rescheduling. You need to keep these accounts active and accessible.

If a ferry sailing is canceled due to uncontrollable factors, passengers are offered a free rescheduling option based on availability. If this option is not satisfactory, a full refund can be requested.
