Beneteau’s Swift Trawler 48 Reviewed

For traditional trawler enthusiasts, the Beneteau Swift Trawler 48 offers a range of 1,300 nautical miles at a leisurely 6.7 knots, or 1,000 nm at 8 knots. Owners can run nonstop from New York to Miami or San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, making it a top choice for a long-range trawler .

And yet, with the twin 425 hp Cummins diesels on the Swift Trawler 48 that I got aboard (380 hp Cummins are standard), owners also can scamper for home at 26 knots, if foul weather threatens or reservations for dinner ashore are waiting.

In other words, yachtsmen can have the best of both worlds: range when wanted, speed when needed.

The Beneteau Swift Trawler 48 is based on the builder’s 47-footer , with a resin-infused fiberglass hull. It’s also based on owner feedback, with a three-stateroom, two-head layout, including a near-king transverse berth in the master stateroom.

In the salon, the galley is aft and accessible to the cockpit. There, the seating and dining area can be fully enclosed, with tracks in place for side curtains. Just forward of the galley is a dinette; at the touch of a button, it disappears flush into the salon sole, leaving a wraparound sofa.

The skipper has a bolstered, pedestal bucket-style seat with a flip-up footrest. The 48 I got aboard had upgraded 12-inch Raymarine HybridTouch monitors (9-inch displays are standard), with backup analog dials and a separate Cummins engine monitor. Side-Power bow and stern thrusters are a savvy option, especially for short-handed cruising. Speaking of that, a sliding door allows easy access to the side deck right at the boarding door through the coaming, for hopping out to help with the lines. I liked the helm door stops that let the door slide to various opening widths for fresh air. And, like all the doors, this one had pullout screens to defeat those pesky no-see-ums.

Opposite the helm and under the windshield is a dead giveaway of the 48’s cruising intentions: an oversize locker for full-size charts (because some of us still like paper backups).

The dinette and lounge to port is raised 8 inches, giving guests a panoramic view through side windows, but Beneteau recognizes that not all of us are Michelin-starred chefs, so a sizable backsplash keeps spills from intruding on the dinette. This galley has all the amenities for making extended voyages, including a 9-cubic-foot Vitrifrigo full-height fridge, Miele convection oven and Kenyon two-burner stove. There is also a dishwasher, an undercounter ice maker and a wine chiller. The eye-level cabinet to starboard—almost a decor item with Lucite doors—was fitted for highball glasses on this 48.

The cockpit has more thoughtful touches. First, the ladder to the bridge not only has double handrails, but also the whole unit slides out of the way when owners want to free up deck space to entertain guests. Double doors lead to the transom platform, which, on this boat, had the optional hydraulic lift for a tender up to 700 pounds. The folding swim ladder has hinged rails.

Because the sitting area is offset to starboard, a Lucite door is fitted at the end of the side deck to protect against spray or wind. The port side is accessible via a pair of teak steps from the cockpit.

Up on the foredeck, I liked the solid double stainless-steel rails from the cockpit to the twin anchor rollers—a good setup for cruisers who need anchors for mud and sand, or want to swing on two hooks. Both rodes are handled by the Lewmar windlass with a gypsy for chain and a capstan head for either rode or for warping dock lines, with controls at both helms as well as a wired remote. The cabin top forward has a sun pad that flips up to become a forward-facing couch. And the 16-inch cleats all around the decks can handle the oversize lines that cruisers might encounter at marinas.

Up top, the flybridge is arranged for lounging as well as dining, with L-shaped settees on both sides and a dining table to starboard. Next to the radar mast are a Kenyon grill, sink, fridge and ice maker. The skipper, again, has a bucket seat, but this time there is room for companions; the backrests for the two settees flip to face forward. Just abaft the galley is a deck to stow water toys or put out chaise-style chairs for lounging.

When the party’s over, the master stateroom down below is forward with a queen island berth that has walk-around space on each side. Two windows with opening ports add brightness to an already cheery space with standard light-oak decor (teak is available). The en suite head, with Villeroy & Boch sinks, has two ports, and there’s an overhead hatch to get rid of the steam from the stall shower, which has a teak seat.

Just aft is the guest stateroom to starboard, with the optional washer/dryer hidden away, and another guest stateroom to port with twin berths. The twin stateroom has direct access to the second head, which also serves the guest stateroom across the hall and functions as the day head.

I also give the Swift Trawler 48 points for the engine room, which is accessed via two oversize hatches in the cockpit sole. Even with the upsized 425 hp Cummins diesels, all the service and maintenance points were within arm’s reach. There was a 7.5 kW Mase genset with convenient access for maintenance, as well as Webasto air conditioning. On deck, the fuel and water fillers are on the starboard deck.

In the lumpy Gulf Stream at 18 knots (2,370 rpm), this Swift Trawler 48 ate up the miles comfortably with nary a drop of spray on the windshield. For owners looking for a yacht that can either cast off tomorrow for faraway ports or harbor-hop with enough speed to get everyone home for work on Monday, the Beneteau Swift Trawler 48 is worth a look.  

An App for That

A feature unique to certain Beneteau yachts, including the Swift Trawler 48, is Seanapps, a proprietary program that lets owners monitor yachts from smartphones or tablets. The program can request routine maintenance, order a pre-departure wash or fuel-up, monitor battery and bilge levels, or check on interior temperature or water-tank levels. It integrates a maintenance logbook to schedule service.

Euro Certification

The 48 meets the standards of Euro Category B Offshore, which means it’s deepwater-rated for winds up to 40 knots and “significant” seas up to 13 feet with 14 people aboard. With 16 aboard, the yacht is Category C Inshore for winds up to Force 6 (27 knots) and 7-foot seas on coastal waters and large bays.

Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 review: from the archive

Leading the charge of changes to the trawler genre, the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 is powered by pod drives and, given its length, is incredibly inventive with its accommodation.

For decades, trawlers brought to mind a distinct set of values as much as they did a style: Herculean build quality and an indomitable go-anywhere hull, an immaculate engineroom bursting with engineering excellence and a good deal of redundancy.

And a traditional interior often fashioned from big chunks of solid teak. Unsurprisingly, along with those elevated values came the correspondingly eye-watering price tag.

More recently, the high volume production boatbuilders realised that they could build modern incarnations of the traditional trawler for a lot less money.

Although some of the old trawler values inevitably have to be diluted.

There is nothing stopping builders capitalising fully on others, such as deep bulwarks and safe walkaround side decks, high volume interiors, and the low-key styling that some buyers feel more comfortable with when they move from sail to power.

And so a new genre of trawler was born, as characterised by Bénéteau’s Swift Trawler range and Azimut ’s fleet of Magellanos.

Change never ceases though, and with Bénéteau ’s latest Swift Trawler 50, architect Michel Joubert and designer Pierre Frutschi have moved on again.

Most significantly, the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 is powered not by conventional shaftdrive but by pod drive, specifically twin 435hp Volvo IPS600.

And although few trawlers could be described as sleek, the towering Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 has taken trawler styling to new heights.

With the helm so far forward, there’s lots of space for the galley and saloon.

The result is a voluminous craft boasting accommodation that is barely believable for a boat whose hull length (excluding the bathing platform) is a mere 43ft 9in (13.33m).

Part of Bénéteau’s conjuring trick is designing the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 with bolt upright front windscreens that sit proportionately far further forward than usual.

That endows the boat with longer than expected main deck accommodation – enough to incorporate a respectable pilothouse rather than just a simple helm station.

Plenty of storage in the galley, include eye-level cupboards.

Like the trawlers built by Grand Banks, this is open-plan to the rest of the saloon, not closed off like a Fleming or a Nordhavn’s pilothouse would be.

Open or closed though, with its small convertible dinette, starboard side door, plus an exemplary and expansive dash, the pilothouse adds a sense of serious intent to the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50.

There’s also an unexpected bonus below decks.

Long windows allow for great views from the VIP.

Although a number of similarly sized cruisers do offer a third cabin, outside of the aft-cabin boats from the likes of Broom and Atlantic I cannot think of another which offers the owners completely separate ensuite heads and shower compartments.

Both have their own hand basins and plenty of floor space – they’re not just tiny cubicles – and for owners intending to spend long periods on board I think they add a significant degree of flexibility to this boat.

I would question the use of frosted glass for the doors though; I can’t imagine much noise being held in check, and there are things which some of us prefer to keep as quietly private as possible.

You have to accept that in return for getting your hands on this much boat for such reasonable money, something has to give.

Good headroom and invaluable ventilation in the master cabin.

So Bénéteau’s archetypal mass-produced furniture takes the place of the solid chunks of teak you might find on more traditional trawlers.

However, although it may ultimately lack the top-class finish evident on more expensive trawlers, Bénéteau has shrewdly used solid timber for the parts likely to sustain the worst wear: door frames, fiddles, drawer fronts and so on.

Only time will tell, but I suspect the interior may endure wear and tear quite well.

Cross channel dash: Driving the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50

Our test was an unusual one, a swift dash across the channel from the Hamble to the boat’s home port of St Helier in Jersey.

Actually, swift is a little generous – 21 knots flat out is a modest speed for a 50 footer fitted with twin 435hp IPS600, even one like ours with its tanks full of fuel.

For example, the 50-foot Prestige 500 we tested (MBY September 2011) achieved 28 knots with identical power plants.

However, the 16 tonne (light) Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 is around 20% heavier, has a small keel and a lot more windage, plus it carries a little more beam.

Those impediments produced a boat that exhibited disappointing fuel efficiency, e.g. 0.55mpg at 16 knots.

Moreover, its efficiency only started to exceed 1.0mpg once it dropped below 10 knots; at 9.2 knots for instance, its 1.15mpg was level pegging with the 56 tonne Nordhavn 55 I tested (MBY August 2008).

Things feel safe and secure on the fl ybridge thanks to the high seat-backs.

So intrepid explorers need to be mindful of the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50’s limited range at its higher speeds.

It’s worth noting that IPS can sometimes be sensitive to weight and weight distribution, so an Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 with a different load of fuel and water and cruising stores could perform quite differently.

If the fuel consumption was a surprise, so was the handling.

With its towering height – 22ft 5in (6.82m) air draft including the topmost lights – I’d been expecting at least a smidgen of rock and roll.

But the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 confounded me by dishing up an impressively resolute and stable ride.

And that held true even when we ploughed our way through a turbulent Alderney Race.

The only time it rolled around noticeably was when we crossed the wake of the Azimut Magellano 43 that accompanied us across the Channel.

At marina manoeuvring speed, the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 was equally impressive.

And not just because the joystick provided unmatched low speed control, the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 also handled perfectly using the almost silent option of throttles and IPS vectoring.

Its tall form may be more of a handful in windy conditions, but the optional bow and stern thrusters should take care of that.

Let’s not forget that the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50’s excellent underlying design makes all this manoeuvring a lot easier.

Under way, helmsman cannot see aft through the saloon doors, but it’s easy to use the side door to check aft.

It’s entirely possible to stand on the starboard side deck just outside the pilothouse door, and manoeuvre the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 into the tightest of berths using the joystick (perfectly located just inside the door).

Then open the side gate and quickly pin the boat to the dock using the nearby spring cleat.

Our Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50’s owner, Greg, saw his boat as suitable for single-handed operation, and I agree completely – there are 40-foot sportscruisers that would be harder to park.

Blatting across the Channel, I found the ride quality was a little disappointing.

Although the very front end of the beamy hull is impressively sharp, it flattens out rapidly, and the wide low chines drop quickly into the water.

Consequently, however I trimmed the boat – full tabs, no tabs, full tab on one side only to heel the boat away from (or into) the prevailing waves – the hull chattered its way across the messy Channel chop we encountered rather than slicing smoothly through.

Unsurprisingly, the wheel isn’t adjustable, but it’s so big that it suits standing or sitting helmsman of all sizes.

In its defence, the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 does position its helmsman an abnormally long way forward, so impacts and movements are exaggerated.

However, I feel the boat has little excuse for the unrelenting squeaking that seemed to be coming from the glassfibre ceiling mouldings.

Had VAT been added, our boat would have cost £744,000, and for that sort of money I’d personally be expecting rigidly assembled silence.

A closer look at the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50

The helmsman has an outstanding view.

Big, bolt upright windscreens and windows may look utilitarian but they provide an outstanding view out for the helmsman and crew.

It may be an extra, but it’s not expensive and it adds big-boat style practicality to the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50, providing walk-in access to the full-width lazarette (or optional crew cabin).

Cleats are a good size, but surely a 50 footer merits a second set of spring cleats.

The engines are connected to the IPS drives using short cardan shafts – this places the weight of the engines slightly further forward, providing better weight distribution and balance.

Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 verdict

The Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 causes us to pause and re-evaluate what the notion of a trawler means.

If it means a practical roomy pilothouse instead of a simple helm station, then this boat fits the bill perfectly.

Likewise, thanks to its waist level bulwarks and broad walkaround side decks, the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 provides a level of on-board safety, under way or at rest, that is in a different league to conventional flybridge cruisers of similar size.

On the other hand, if you’re planning to undertake intrepid, swift, long-distance voyages in all weathers, then this probably isn’t the boat for you.

It’s ride wasn’t terrible, it was okay, but at speed it is not in the same league as the more traditional trawlers; in comparison boats such as the Hardy 42, or any of AquaStar’s or Fleming’s trawlers, have a magic carpet ride.

And at its swifter cruising speeds of 16 knots or above, its range only just pips 230 miles

Bénéteau’s assertion that “the innovative design enables a range of over 1,000 miles and fuel consumption less than 30 litres per hour” holds at least one clue to the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50’s appeal.

According to our figures, that 1,000 mile, 30litres/hr cruising nirvana only appears below 9 knots.

At this speed, the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 makes considerable sense as a displacement cruiser, one with the invaluable ability to double its speed when a rapid dash for cover is required.

It is impressively quiet at displacement speeds, and its low speed handling is excellent.Regardless of its speed, the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 offers the roomy accommodation that trawlers are renowned for.

In truth, more traditional trawlers of the same true length would be hard pressed to match the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 in this department.

It’s an unusually safe and secure boat to wander around, and with its optional crew cabin it could accommodate up to seven people, more if you’re prepared to temporarily cannibalise the saloon.

So regardless of whether the Bénéteau Swift Trawler 50 is swift by your standards, or even an authentic trawler in your eyes, there’s no doubt that it’s a great family cruiser.

With their new 88  footer from the Double Deck range, Sunreef are unveiling an ultra-comfortable cruising catamaran built for an experienced boating family, and are confirming their ability to complete fully customized projects on the same timescale as production boats.

It took no more than 9 months for the Sunreef 88 DD, first announced at the 2016 Cannes boat show, to see its hulls hit the water in Gdansk, Poland.  Yet this is not just a well-honed semi-custom boat, but a brand new model in the range which is already known to connoisseurs and necessarily demanding owners. Having owned many of the best in English and Italian motor yachts, this family got into sailing with a beautiful 25 meter ketch.  The natural instability of a heeling monohull prompted them to ask Ian Sellers, their skipper, to think of another solution.  The choice of a sailing catamaran was a logical one: the space, stability, low draft, panoramic view and the economical running are irrefutable arguments for those who want XXL-sized comfort.  

A good average speed to cross the Atlantic or to reach new anchorages in the Caribbean islands after a beautiful summer season in the Mediterranean also guided their choice.  It simply remained to find a shipyard capable of satisfying the wishes of the owner.  With a budget of more than 4 million euros, this owner was looking for a boat that was not just ultra-equipped and of the highest quality, but a unit that was entirely made ...

Description.

The start of the ambitious Sunreef 88 Double Deck project was officially communicated during Sunreef Yachts’ press conference at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2016. After eight months of intensive work, the shipyard proudly announced the launch of this catamaran with a zealous, sporty look.

An experienced yachtsman switching from a massive motor yacht , the owner decided to commission the Sunreef 88 Double Deck to pursue a more stable navigation style with greater living space. Indeed, a challenging project for the shipyard’s engineering and design teams.

Nonetheless, this journey was destined to keep the promise of delivering a state-of-the art fully customized sailing catamaran from the start. To achieve the goal of building a seaworthy and dynamic catamaran, Sunreef Yachts’ team of naval architects conceived a completely new yacht design which seemed far sportier than the rest.

Same as all yachts within her range, the Sunreef 88 Double Deck too features a mezzanine level inside the saloon and a spacious master stateroom with a panoramic view in the bow part of the main deck. However, her superstructure was granted a more aerodynamic aspect. As a result, the 88-footer emphasis equally on both performance and luxury, offering over 300m² of living space and an outstanding sailing experience.

Despite this, the Sunreef 88 Double Deck remains a family-friendly yacht offering the best of comfort and safety. The innovative composite superstructure of the sailing yacht conceals a smart and functional layout with luxurious accommodations for eight guests and up to five crew members.

Upon the owners’ request, the interior decor of the Sunreef 88 Double Deck features exclusive natural materials: Chambord oak, linen, leather, natural stone, and quartz tiles – all contribute to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the sailing yacht . The feeling of warmth was also achieved through applying numerous orange accents to the interiors – an important color for the owner’s family who consider it to be a symbol of energy.

New Sunreef 92 Double Deck Sailing Catamaran

From the same people who brought you the original Sunreef Yacht, comes the new Sunreef 92 Double Deck , with a new design which not only streamlines the deck house, but tops it with a giant 40 m 2 fly bridge.

This was inspired by similar designs found on other super yacht designs. In collaboration with K-Epsilon and Rivoyre Ingenierie , The Sunreef Naval Architecture Bureau has intensely studied performance and sea capabilities using state of the art CFD, computational flow dynamics to create the ultimate in catamaran luxury.

Using integrated stepped hull chins, the Sunreef 92 Double Deck catamaran increases interior space, without compromising performance. Now this yacht can accommodate up to 10 guests, in up to 5 double luxury suites, as well as a crew of four.

Sunreef’s 92 Double Deck also features a canoe style boom and carbon mast, one of this manufacturer’s specialties. How are they able to accomplish such feats? They added a new mezzanine floor, which includes a coffee table and lounge, located on the port side of the main deck dining area, freeing up more space below for larger cabins and storage space, or even more suites if you prefer.

Because of this innovative design modification, now the owner’s suite occupies two floors of the entire front area of this yacht, with a private luxury office, gym and leisure area on the upper level, with the bathroom, wardrobe and storage area below deck. Each cabin has an extended size, three way access to their King sized beds, with spectacular panoramic sea views. Not only this, but each luxury suite comes with its own separate bath and shower area, large closets, storage lockers, as well as their own air conditioning and a comprehensive entertainment system.

With a LOA of 27 meters, an 11.2m beam, and a 1.6m draft, this super yacht has a 80 ton displacement. It will also be powered by two 405HP 1200 L/3170 Gal engines, and will be able to cruise at speeds up to 15 knots. The 70m 2 cockpit will also include a large dining area, sunbathing mattresses, and diving equipment. Its spacious fly bridge is fitted with a jacuzzi, two wet bars, barbecue, ice makers and even a pair of jet skis. It will also include a tender, hidden in a specially built locker under the main sun pad of the cockpit.

Even though this is only the second of such models, it isn’t hard to see why the Sunreef 92 Double Deck sailing catamaran is on it’s way to be one of the most sought after luxury yachts. With it’s innovative design, state of the art electronics, and focus on luxury, the Sunreef 92 Double Deck is top of the line, and a must for people who may still think they have it all. A seafaring adventure on island routes double-decker catamaran cruise.

Embark on a luxury catamaran cruise adventure out of Ocho Rios, Jamaica that takes adventure to new heights.

Standing on the dock, I pause a moment to let my gaze travel slowly upwards at the gleaming catamaran floating before me. Rocking gently in the calm Caribbean Sea, the beautiful double-decker  Calipsoul  seems familiar yet exciting and new to me all at the same time. I had chosen Island Routes Catamaran Dunn’s River Cruise the last time I was in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It had been the perfect combination of relaxation and excitement that I had been looking for. We had also done the romantic Lovers Rock evening cruise, literally sailing into the sunset together. Making the cruise reservation Both times it had turned out exactly as promised and this time around when I knew I was heading back to Jamaica, I reached out to the wonderfully helpful Island Routes team yet again. I spoke with them about how much I had enjoyed the last catamaran excursion I did with them and shared that this time I would be coming with a group of friends and family of all ages. I had enjoyed the snorkeling aspect of the Dunn’s River cruise so much but it had been fairly short and some of my group said they really wanted to let loose and relax.

They explained that it was like The Dunn’s River cruise minus the climbing, which my mom was happy to hear about, and a lot of time spent exploring the underwater world. Then they told me how great my timing was as they now have a brand new double-decker catamaran! To be honest, I couldn’t quite picture it so I didn’t know what to expect. Standing here, about to step onto the Calipsoul , I am filled with delight as the kids all leap aboard. We aren’t the only family on board that day and as my group is fairly large, coming over on the shuttle service from the Beaches all-inclusive family resort, I had been worried about feeling crowded. Yet, what we discover is the perfect blend of being able to find ample areas for ourselves while also having the opportunity to meet other people as equally excited as we are.

Snorkeling lesson Once in the water, we are directed by the crew, who have joined us, where to swim and, along the way, they make sure to point out coral formations and beautiful fish ensuring we have an amazingly immersive experience (pun intended). I explore for ages and I am very excited as I brought my waterproof camera with me this time and aim to meet my self-imposed challenge of taking an underwater selfie with tropical fish. Although unsuccessful because they move pretty quickly, I still have a blast. Suddenly, someone is tapping me on my shoulder and I pop my head up to see one of the crew members guiding me back to the boat. Making my way back I realize that, as strong a swimmer as I am, I’m pretty happy to have the life vest on as it allows me to keep looking underwater while I make my way back without having to put in too much effort in keeping myself headed in the right direction so all my focus is on the magical world below me. Trampoline for the kids, hammocks for the adults We climb aboard and the teenagers head to the trampoline area (I was told that’s what it’s called). For people who may not normally hang out on a boat, this area serves an engineering purpose but is also a pretty cool place to just hang out on as it’s like a flat stretched-out hammock where you can just lay out and chill. I divest myself of the fins, mask, and vest and realize I’m pretty hungry! Lunch on the ocean Luckily, the food comes out and everyone piles up their plates with tropical fruit, delicious wraps and chips, and salsa, and we head for a sunny spot on the upper deck of the catamaran. We start chatting with other people and decide it’s just about the right time for the rum version of that delicious fruit punch (after all we’re in Jamaica, how can we pass up the delicious rum when no one is driving or diving). My husband opts for a cold Red Stripe instead and leans back to work on his tan. Learning Jamaican dance moves We hear music and a lot of laughter below and realize the trampoline is empty. I decide to leave my husband happily tanning and I follow the music only to discover a full-blown dance class, as the crew is teaching everyone the latest Jamaican dancehall dance moves. Although I feel a little self-conscious when I join in, that quickly fades away as everyone tries their best to match the expertise of the crew. Over on the right, two little girls have their own crew member showing them what to do and they catch on quickly, delighted grins lighting up their faces. I manage to muddle through and I’m pretty sure my sister is going to show these videos to everyone once we get back home for an evening full of a similar level of laughter at my expense. In that moment though, I don’t care. I feel the salt from the sea drying on my skin, my hair is a tousled mess and I’m dancing with my children in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. This, I think, is what happiness is.

First Sunreef 88 double deck catamaran launched

The first hull in the Sunreef 88 range of double deck sailing catamarans has been launched in Gdansk for a European owner, the Polish yard has announced.

This fully personalised multihull superyacht measures 26.82 metres LOA and was styled inside and out by the in-house team at  Sunreef Yachts .

In a statement, the Polish yard added that the design of the Sunreef 88 is “a great display of the shipyard’s non-conformist attitude and a genuine example of an avant-garde sailing catamaran concept”.

Captain Ian Sellers added: "She is a beautifully crafted, fully customised transoceanic catamaran, with superb quality and finish."

The design brief was focussed on three key themes: luxury, performance and privacy. To this end, the Sunreef 88 features more than 300 square metres of living space — an impressive figure for a yacht of this size, proving that bigger isn't always better .

This two-deck sailing yacht will feature an extensive flybridge with a central helm station and plenty of al fresco dining and relaxation spaces. Back aft, the cockpit features a central dining table with seating space for ten guests as well as a second sunbed, making good use of the Sunreef 88's 11.2 metre beam.

The in-house design includes sporty and dynamic exterior lines, as well as a fully customised interior layout. Key features include a mezzanine level in the saloon and a main-deck owner's cabin , which boasts superb views out to sea through panoramic windows.

Auxiliary power comes from a pair of 425hp engines drawing on a total fuel capacity of 8,000 litres, while her total sailplan is in excess of 345 square metres.

Sunreef added that the designers drew inspiration for this single-masted sailing yacht from the 35 metre flagship yacht Che , which was launched in 2010. The Sunreef 88 is the sixth superyacht from the Polish yard, which has also created the Sunreef 102 yacht Ipharra .

This Coastal Runner features an interior cabin with room for two to sleep very comfortably and a plumbed head. The dual hull design with its wide beam, and high gunwales creates the perfect combination for a dry, stable ride, even in rough sea days. The cockpit features a wrap-around windshield and side windows with a hardtop overhead with two opening ports. The rear deck area has coaming pads for comfort, a huge live well and access to the integrated swim platform. There are plenty of rod holders and two fish boxes are in the floor. EXTERIOR DESIGN

Her stylish, modern, dynamic look reflects the Swift Trawler line's renewal, marked by the launch of the Swift Trawler 47. The Swift Trawler 41 has a fluid and balanced profile , emphasized by a slender, flared out hull, which means she cuts perfectly through the sea . Her wheelhouse offers strikingly generous space, while the fore deck, with its large sun pad and a high protective pulpit, make this long-distance cruiser even more distinctive. Her new hull has also been designed for optimum fuel consumption and efficiency, in both versions available: Fly or Sedan.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Brightness, user-friendliness, and comfortable living characterize the welcoming yet practical spaces of the Swift Trawler 41. Her many innovative solutions make life easy aboard. The aft galley links seamlessly with the cockpit, which has a sliding bench making it easy to get to the swim platform. In the wheelhouse, the pilot seat rotates, allowing eight passengers to sit down in the salon. The lounge space converts to a comfortable double berth , surrounded by a curtain for privacy. Below deck, the three cabins on board allow for up to 7 passengers to be accommodated comfortably on this innovative family cruiser.

The Swift Trawler 41 can easily welcome up to 7 passengers with the convertible lounge. 

A new offering in the Swift Trawler range is a U-shaped galley located in the aft section of the wheelhouse.

Facing lounge

The large living room opposite the swiveling pilot bench guarantees easy entertainment and wonderful shared moments. Eight passengers can easily find a place around the table.
