Don't miss seeing former Double J Artist of the Year Mia Dyson (who's cooking up new music we hear) or Minor Gold and their lush, classic songcraft .

Rounding out the 2023 line-up is Aotearoa/New Zealand country and soul artist Tami Neilson , Southern Rock boogie barons Sweet Talk and Tamworth-bred troubadour Paddy McHugh , with famed RockWiz host Brian Nankervis MC'ing the event.

The old Ford Underground Garage with entry at 30 Jefferson will be open, will fill up fast. If parked there, you will walk down Bates Street to Atwater to get to the Detroit Princess. We will have a team member at the barricade there down by the river to assist you past that area. Other parking options if full or traffic is backed up is “1 st Street Garage” and “Premier Parking Millenium Garage” both of which are located close to 432 West Congress St, Detroit. You will need to walk to Bates St on Jefferson to access the riverwalk or there is a set of stairs near the UAW building which you can take down to the riverfront, in addition you may be able to walk through Huntington center (COBO), if they are allowing people to enter the building.

Another option is on the East side of the Rennaisance center, “Port Atwater Garage” located at 200 Beaubien St, Detroit, again walk to Jefferson to Bates Street to access the riverwalk.

Huntington Center (COBO) may also be available but take note they do usually close the doors to the building on the riverfront in the evening so you will have to enter the parking garage at the East Jefferson building entrance.

If you park near the sports arenas, you can take the People Mover to the riverfront area. Good stops would be the Renaissance center, or the Financial District stops. Make your way to Bates Street off Jefferson. You will not be able to access the riverfront anywhere except on foot from Jefferson to Bates Street. All other entrances to the riverfront are closed. The Q-Line is another option, park further out of the city and take the train in. It runs most the way from 8 Mile on Woodward Ave all the way downtown, once at the end of the line walk toward the river and down Bates St.

riverboats 2024 tickets

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill will host consecutive weekend performances of an original production in partnership with Adventure Theatre along the banks of the Kentucky River on July 26-27 and August 2-3. The play, “River Adventures”, explores the romanticism of the river through the eyes of the iconic fictional characters Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. The play will be staged on the retired, and permanently docked, riverboat at historic Shaker Landing.

“The setting for this production couldn’t be more ideal,” said Shaker Village Vice President of Public Programming and Marketing Billy Rankin. “We are excited to welcome guests of all ages to experience an evening amongst the Kentucky River Palisades and enjoy an adventure with Tom and Huck.”

The story shares some of Tom and Huck’s favorite childhood adventures along the Mississippi River. They, and their troupe of friends, will be “telling tales” and “spinning yarns” from the history of travel along the Kentucky River. Joining the fun will be the Huckleberry Bluegrass Band, with performances before and during the show.

Email newsletter signup

“Bringing Tom and Huck to life using the retired riverboat as our stage is truly an honor,” said playwright and Adventure Theatre Co-Owner Adam Sovkoplas. “I am excited to write a show that takes advantage of this unique setting and to include stories from Kentucky history alongside some of our favorite tales from ‘ The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’.”

Tickets are available to purchase online at shakervillageky.org/events . Guests will have the option of purchasing General Admission tickets at $50, General Admission tickets with rain insurance for $57, or VIP Admission tickets for ages 21+ at $75. VIP ticket holders will receive priority parking, preferred seating, a complimentary cocktail and access to a preshow 30- minute program on the history of Shaker Landing.

The Shaker Landing Barn will be open serving beverages, cocktails and food. Guests should bring a lawn chair or blanket to set up for the performance on the lawn.

The last weekend of shows coincide with the annual Shaker Village Craft Fair held on August 3-4 from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. As one of Kentucky’s premier craft events this fair attracts hundreds of visitors to the Village looking to purchase unique items from elite artists. Guests attending the play are encouraged to spend a full day at the Village enjoying all it has to offer before heading to Shaker Landing.

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg, Ky. is located just 40 minutes away from Lexington, and 80 minutes outside of Louisville. To plan your visit to Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, or to learn more, visit shakervillageky.org or call 859-734-5411.

How much are tickets to the 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony?

The opening ceremony in paris will be the first to take place on a river, making it a hot ticket., by mike gavin • published july 18, 2024 • updated on july 19, 2024 at 12:24 pm.

The Opening Ceremony for the 2024 Paris Olympics is just days away, and the city is about to make a splash. Literally.

For the first time in the history of the Games, the festivities of the Opening Ceremony will take place on a river, with athletes arriving on nearly 100 boats down. They will travel down the six-kilometer route, passing some of the city’s most iconic bridges and landmarks and ending near the Eiffel Tower.

📺 24/7 South Florida news stream: Watch NBC6 free wherever you are

Changing the venue from land to sea, and creating what is expected to be a picturesque backdrop for the evening's festivities, has added some intrigue to the official kickoff of the two-week global competition.

If you're in Paris and want to see the games begin, you're going to need a waterfront ticket. But with the ceremony being outdoors, it allows for many more spectators to witness the historic event in person, with hundreds of thousands expected.

The Hurricane season is on. Our meteorologists are ready. Sign up for the NBC 6 Weather newsletter to get the latest forecast in your inbox.

Here's how tickets were distributed for what will be the largest Opening Ceremony in the history of the Games.

How many people are attending the Opening Ceremony?

Organizers initially planned to have 600,000 spectators at the open-air Opening Ceremony. That was scaled back due to safety and logistic concerns.

Earlier this year, the overall number of spectators was reduced to around 300,000.

How much are tickets for the Opening Ceremony?

Most of the tickets to the Opening Ceremony were free but were by invitation only.

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said in March that 104,000 of the spectators will be paying ticket holders with spots along the lower riverbanks, with another 222,000 watching for free from the upper banks.

According to The Brussels Times , Paris city hall began distributing 55,000 free tickets to the public in May. Free ticket priority included families from underprivileged areas with the lowest incomes, young people, sports movements and people helping to organize the Olympics, including city workers and traders.

Those invited will then need to undergo security checks and will receive QR codes to pass security barriers.

The riverside route will be divided into 15 zones for spectators. Ticket prices for the lower quays ranged from about $100 to $3,000, with some tickets still available.

Another 200,000 people are expected to watch the opening from inside apartments or buildings overlooking the river, and about 50,000 from fan zones, Darmanin said.

When Do Tickets for the Best Concerts Of 2024 Go On Sale?

Tickets for all of these concerts have already gone on sale, so make sure to buy yours as soon as possible. A few tours don’t have any available tickets on Ticketmaster, so keep that in mind as you plan your concert experience.

How Much Are Tickets For The Best Concerts Of 2024?

A good rule of thumb to keep in mind is that the farther away you are from the stage, the cheaper your ticket will probably be—ticket prices also drop as you sit further to either side of the venue’s center section. It’s important to make sure your seat has a clear view of the stage (most reseller platforms will tell you if it doesn’t). Partial view tickets are cheaper.

Furthermore, many great ticket deals on reseller sites only apply if you buy at least two tickets together. So, if you and your friends want to see a show, you can easily save money by having one person buy all the tickets.

Ticket prices also vary by location. For example, a concert in Detroit, Michigan or Lexington, Kentucky will typically cost less than one in New York City or Los Angeles. Shows abroad may also cost less, especially if you plan to see Taylor Swift during her Eras tour; her European shows are much more affordable than her North American concerts. Take time to do some research and figure out when and where the best ticket opportunity works for you.

What Artists Are Touring In New York In 2024?

A plethora of musicians are performing at various venues in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, including Billie Eilish, Blink-182, Childish Gambino, Green Day, Ice Spice, Kacey Musgraves, Post Malone, Sabrina Carpenter, Shakira, Usher and Weezer. Post Malone is also touring in Syracuse and Wantagh, New York.

WNBA All-Star Game 2024 tickets going fast for Team USA vs. Caitlin Clark, Team WNBA

Portrait of Jeremy Cluff

The 2024 WNBA All-Star Game is a hot ticket, according to StubHub , which reports that sales for Saturday's game at Footprint Center in Phoenix on the site are more than double what they were for the 2023 game.

“The incredible demand for the WNBA, a trend amongst women’s sports, is evident in this weekend’s WNBA All-Star Game, which currently has more than double the sales of last year’s All-Star game in Las Vegas. We are continuing to see the strong demand from season kick off sustain through the season,” said Adam Budelli, a spokesperson for StubHub, a resale ticket site.

According to StubHub, the final game sales on StubHub for Saturday's game are up 13 times over the last three years.

And WNBA ticket sales are up in general this season.

Pricey: How much are 2024 WNBA All-Star Game tickets?

According to the site, Caitlin Clark , the dynamic Indiana Fever rookie guard, is a big reason for the uptick in WNBA sales and popularity this season.

"WNBA season sales were remarkable at the season start, as reported by StubHub’s inaugural WNBA season preview, and have sustained demand throughout the season as seen by Caitlin Clark who drives the average price of tickets sold up 85% for Fever’s away games in comparison to the team’s home games," the site said in a statement.

Team USA vs. Team WNBA picks: Who wins WNBA All-Star Game?

StubHub's cheapest tickets for the 5:30 p.m. (PT) game Saturday are currently listed for $110 each (not including fees) and the site has a lot of 200-level tickets running under $200 before venturing into higher prices.

The game will pit the USA women's basketball team in a tune-up for the 2024 Paris Olympic games against a team of WNBA All-Stars that aren't playing in the Olympics, including Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, another prominent rookie.

Things to Do

Music and concerts, music and concerts | what to know if you’re headed to the minnesota yacht club festival, gwen stefani, alanis morissette and red hot chili peppers are headlining.

A stage and bleachers next to a river.

For the first time in a dozen years, St. Paul’s Harriet Island Regional Park will host a major rock and pop music festival, dubbed the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival, on Friday and Saturday.

Headlined by Gwen Stefani, Alanis Morissette and Red Hot Chili Peppers, the festival (which despite its name has nothing to do with yacht rock) is promoted by C3 Presents, an Austin, Texas, company that’s also behind Austin City Limits Music Festival, Voodoo Music + Arts Experience and the modern-day Lollapalooza. C3 was the largest independent promoter in the world until Live Nation bought a controlling stake in the company in 2014.

Organizers expect to attract more than 30,000 concertgoers each day.

While the Irish Fair of Minnesota calls Harriet Island home each August, music festivals have had a rough go on the site. The original Lollapalooza (back when it was a traveling festival) landed on the site in 1991, 1992 and 1994, but flooding forced the fest to move to the late St. Paul Civic Center in 1993.

Live Nation attempted to establish a new annual event, the River’s Edge Music Festival, in 2012. Despite big-name headliners Tool and the Dave Matthews Band, the festival didn’t attract enough paying customers to convince the concert promoting giant to return for a second year.

Here’s what folks headed to the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival need to know:

As of Wednesday afternoon, tickets were still available at a number of price points, starting at $135 for one day general admission (or $255 for two days) all the way up to platinum tickets for $925 ($1,395 for two days), which include a number of perks including free food and drinks, front-of-stage viewing and access to an air-conditioned lounge. See minnesotayachtclubfestival.com for details.

Many of the general admission and general admission plus tickets are sold out, but there are verified resale tickets available, some at lower prices than face value.

Getting there

There are two entrances to the festival. The main entrance is at Harriet Island Boulevard and South Wabasha Street, while the west entrance is on West Water Street between Bidwell Street and Plato Boulevard.

There is no on-site parking at the festival, but its website lists numerous downtown St. Paul parking lots that are a 10- to 16-minute walk from the site. Several Metro Transit buses stop a half-mile from Harriet Island. The rideshare drop off is at 49 E. Fillmore Ave. The festival promises “ample bike parking” located near the two entrances.

What is allowed on site

Feel free to bring: Small clutch purses and fanny packs (6” x 9” or smaller) with no more than one pocket, all other bags must be clear and smaller than 12” x 6” x 12”, empty hydration packs and reusable water bottles, strollers, frisbees, binoculars, blankets, basic cameras (no detachable lenses or other accessories), sunscreen in non-aerosol containers (3.4 ounces or less), personal-sized hand sanitizer and factory sealed Naloxone/Narcan kits.

What isn’t allowed

Pretty much everything you would think, including outside food and beverage, coolers, aerosol containers, umbrellas, chairs, wagons, skateboards, drones, fireworks and illegal substances.

Concertgoers must wear securely fastened wristbands that are available at the box office. Wristbands can be activated online to add an emergency contact and to use for cashless transactions (with a pin number). Wristbands that are damaged, lost or stolen can be replaced by the original purchaser one time only for $20. Patrons can leave and reenter at will up until 7 p.m. each day.

There is a guest services tent that has earplugs and a lost and found. Free hydration stations are located throughout the site. Lockers are available to rent for $25 each day or $48.50 for both.

Who is playing

Gwen Stefani sings on stage flanked by two dancers.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. There are two stages, with staggered performances that do not overlap.

Friday’s schedule includes: Gully Boys (1-2 p.m.), Harbor and Home (2-2:40 p.m.), Morgan Wade (2:40-3:40), Michigander (3:40-4:40), Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (4:40-5:40), Durry (5:40-6:40), Gwen Stefani (6:45-8), The Head and the Heart (8-9) and Alanis Morissette (9-10:30).
