The food at this club is simply amazing. You even have the option of grilling your own fish, steak, or sausages. Whenever there's a special, go with the special. It never disappoint. If you get an invite from a member to come sailing, do it! Remember to wear boat shoes or white soled shoes. Bring some drinks for your gracious host.

This is a private-member sailing club at Kirribilli north of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. If you're fortunate enough to be a member, or a guest of a member, you are certain to enjoy this fine dining experience. The monthly buffet is outstanding - a selection of seafood, salads and a Carvery followed by the most amazing deserts. There's also a more informal restaurant on the lower levels which is heaving on a Friday night after twilight sailing in summer.

Amazing place with a great history and the food and wine was great. The oysters are a must. You have to be with a member or be a member.

This is one incredible location. Great history adorns the walls. The only downside? It's not open to the public. The food was fantastic and the staff super helpful. I enjoyed the blue eye cod and asparagus salad quite a bit. The beef tenderloin of my sponsor/member was quite good, I'm told. And the view up the Sydney harbor is world class.

Kirribilli is a fine example of this; only three kilometres from Sydney’s Central Business District (CBD), Kirribilli is a distinguished neighbourhood and well worth a visit. If you’re looking for the best Kirribilli restaurants, look no further. Kirribilli restaurants range from cheap eats which include a cheeky BYO to eating out at some of the best top-notch restaurants in Sydney.

The area is great for more than just popular restaurants too, check out the best things to do in Kirribilli in between eating your heart out.

In no particular order, here are some of our favourite restaurants on the Lower North Shore. Be sure to check out our Sydney Restaurants page for more places to eat.

1. Kirribilli Club – Kirribilli (lunch/dinner)

The  Kirribilli Club  must be Sydney’s poshest RSL (I’ve been told this by many Australians) which sits right on Sydney harbour back from Luna Park. With a balcony showcasing the best views of Sydney harbour bridge and the city, the Kirribilli Club is a must visit as one of the best restaurants in Kirribilli. The food is great and is reasonable price as well, ideal really!

Just remember to bring your ID to get into this pub.

2. The Botanist

The Botanist is definitely one of the best restaurants in Kirribilli due to the care and effort that goes into every ingredient. From local produce to hand grown vegetables, The Botanist’s menu is delicious, wholesome and and so good. Not far from Milsons Point station, you could dine here for a date, family day or a small friends gathering.

3. The Colonial British Indian

There is something about a British Indian style curry that just hits different, and you can get that right here at The Colonial British Indian which serves up rockstar amazing Indian food.

The menu serves up all the classic dishes you’d expect like a balti, korma, madras, vindaloo and rogan josh, and of course those delicious naans from plain to stuffed, yum! The Colonial is considered one of the most popular restaurants in Sydney for classic British Indian food!

4. Oski – Kirribilli (breakfast)

North Sydney, with it’s beautiful walks, hidden gardens and city views is the perfect place to start the day with breakfast. Oski is the cafe you want to go to, with a menu serving a classic hot big brekkie to start your day right. Try there espresso and take a walk around Milsons Point and bask in the happiness of starting your day right.

5. La Capannina – Kirribilli (dinner)

La Capannina  is an amazing, authentic Italian restaurant run by an Italian family and for sure one of the best restaurants in Kirribilli. Situated right by the Harbour Bridge, the location doesn’t get much better.

The food, including dessert, on the other hand is out of this world! The pasta is homemade and you can tell because it’s incredible. This is a great romantic dinner spot in Sydney, complete with outdoor dining and fairy lights.

6. Stir Crazy Thai – Kirribilli (lunch/dinner)

You’ll notice there’s at least 3 Thai popular restaurants in Kirribilli, all within a minute’s walk of Milsons Point Station. So which Thai restaurant in Kirribilli is the best?  Stir Crazy Thai  is our favourite Thai restaurant and is the busiest because it’s the best cheap eats in North Sydney, plus it’s BYO too! Doesn’t get much better!

7. The Flying Bear

The Flying Bear waterfront cafe is one of our favourite places to eat in Kirribilli at The Royal Squadron, Sydney’s oldest sailing club. Serving up mouth watering breakfast and lunch dishes with a view of the harbour and boats, it’s one of the most beautiful restaurants in kirribilli to spend a few hours.

8. Foys at The Royal Squadron – Kirribilli (dinner/drinks)

Foy’s Kirribilli also located at The Royal Flying Squadron is a pleasant surprise tucked away near Sydney Harbour and one of our favourite restaurants in Sydney. It’s a spot where the view complements the food, offering a gorgeous views that enhances the dining experience.

The menu, rich with local produce, offers a range of choices catering to various tastes without overwhelming diners. Service here is friendly and unpretentious, adding a personal touch to each meal. Check out our Foys Restaurant Review for what to expect before you book.

9. Thelma and Louise – Neutral Bay Wharf (breakfast/lunch)

  Thelma & Louise  is an awesome organic cafe at Neutral Bay wharf so you can catch a ferry from Circular Quay right to the doorstep! It’s definitely worth a visit to but get there early as it gets packed! You can even reserve a table out on the balcony for views of the harbour.

10. Batch Burgers

Batch Burgers is one of the best restaurants in Kirribilli because…well because burgers, should we say more? With an American diner vibe, fresh burger patties, hotdogs, shakes and more, you cannot go wrong with a cheap eats like Batch! They also open early to serve brunch and coffee including a hangover cure burger, yes please on a Sunday!

11. Aqua and Ripples – Kirribilli (lunch/dinner)

I’ve not been to either  Aqua  or  Ripples  which are just around the corner from each other so I’m going to put them in the same post. Ripples (also in the picture) is located right on the harbour with probably the best views in Sydney. It’s a place I’ve been meaning to go to but we have been to their other restaurant in Chowder Bay which is a fantastic restaurant.

Aqua is located above Milsons Point Swimming Pool which gives you incredible views of the pool and harbour. If you’re looking for fine dining in North Sydney area, then check out these two long standing restaurants!

12. Sails – Lavender Bay (lunch/dinner)

Sails  is a fine dining restaurant for a special occasion. Set right on the harbour at Mcmahon’s Point Wharf, it’s far enough away from the tourists and crowds and has a really special feel about it. With a seasonal and fresh menu serving quality dishes and a wine list with over 130 Australian and International wines, you are sure to have an incredible night at Sails in Lavender Bay.

13. Celsius Coffee Co

The hugely popular  Celsius Coffee Co  cafe literally sits on Kirribilli Wharf and is famous for its amazing waffles. No bookings can be made so get there early. The best thing is you can just jump on the ferry from Circular Quay which will take you right to the front door. It’s easily one of the best Kirribilli restaurants and our go to breakfast in Sydney.
