Morning Sail / Dolphin Tours

Afternoon Sail

Jenny with Charleston Sailing Adventures was absolutely wonderful! She knew a lot about the area, as she is a local, and we had a blast! We were able to bring some of our own drinks on board and she even had a cooler with ice to store them! We were able to play our own music while we sailed around the harbor. It's the perfect thing to do with a small intimate group. We booked this for my bachelorette, and had a wonderful and relaxing time! I can't wait to come back and book again!

I picked them because they offered a small sailing cruise, we're reasonably prices and allowed us to byob. They mentioned that they had a minimum number required to sail, and we understood that. My reason for a 2 star review is that they waited until 2 hours prior to call and cancel on me. I asked for a recommendation and every other place I called were fully booked. They could have given us a little more time to find an alternative or given us a heads up in the morning versus waiting until the last minute. Was very disappointed.

Great way to round out our couples trip. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing evening on the water. Captain Ray was outstanding!

Great time; great crew. If you're looking for a smaller, more personal sunset cruise this is the one. Like others have said, not touristy and not a lot of people on the boat. We brought a bottle of wine and made friends. Thanks for a great time!

We had a great sailing experience in Charleston and would do it again. Very relaxing and informative.

My husband and I took the sunset sailboat cruise on 7/20/23 during our 1st anniversary trip to Charleston. Weather was in the high 80s but the wind cooled it down to very mild. The hosts were friendly, I felt safe, and were ready to help take photos. This is our first time on a sailboat and we sat above the nets (which was a perfect sunset watching location and less bumpy). Definitely wear tennis shoes, sunglasses, and sunscreen. The views were gorgeous, the night was a great addition to the memories we had in Charleston. It was well worth the money and will always be remembered!

Sunset cruise

We had a few girls out of 11 that were nervous about the weather. Ray and Christian were the best in managing our expectations. We went out and all the girls said this was a great day. Ray is super knowledgeable and Christian was personable. Would recommend this anytime!

I booked this cruise as an anniversary gift for my boyfriend and we had such a great time. The captian takes a route depending on the wind, where dolphins may be and where the best spot to see the sunset will be. Seeing Charleston from the water is really special and I look forward to going again! BYOB is a huge plus too!!

We had the most wonderful sunset sail with Charleston Sailing Adventures. The crew was amazing and attentive. They even helped us take photos! I would highly highly recommend. One of the best things we have done in Charleston!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE !!! I loved every second of the sailing adventure from start to finish. Had so much fun bonding with friends on the boat while the very professional crew sailed us around and made sure we had a fun and relaxing time. Jen and Janet did a great job at making sure we got to see all the beauty of Charleston and helped us watch one of the best sunsets I’ve seen.

To say that our experience was perfect is an understatement! Front the awesome views to the dolphins swimming right beside us, it was a trip I will definitely be taking again! Captains Jen and Janet were amazing...professional and laid back, they made us all feel at home and totally relaxed. A must-do in Charleston!

History, dolphins, the harbor of Charleston.... and a little wine. We really couldn’t have had a more perfect trip! The ladies Captaining the Shenanigan were very knowledgeable and made us feel safe the whole time. We plan on going again soon!

About Charleston

Established in 1670, Charleston is packed with over 350 years of history. Some of this history, such as Fort Sumter, can only be accessed via Charleston's waterways. The city has a subtropical climate, ensuring warm weather almost year-round. The sunny summers and mild winters are perfect for boating, no matter the season. A plethora of wildlife calls our coasts home. It is not uncommon to have dolphins escort our charters throughout Charleston's waters.

About our master captains

Steve Woodard  has been around boats all of his life, owning his first sail boat at the tender age of 11. In 2008, he founded  Charleston Charter and Yacht, a family business. He proudly brought luxurious, customized, private charters to the Lowcountry for the first time. Steve has owned 13 boats throughout the years and has been a Master Captain 100 tons for 16 years. His skill, expertise, and experience in maneuvering a variety of vessels ensures you are in extremely capable and caring hands.

Paul Zobel was born in Charleston, spending much of his formative years on the waters around the area. He has had a captains license for over forty years, owning and piloting boats from Miami to NY for many of them. He was Captain of the Port for Dewees Island for ten years, piloting their ferry boats. Capt. Charleston Charter and Yacht is incredibly proud to have Cpt. Paul continuing work on the water with us.

Pete DeBoer is a native of Seattle, Washington and grew up in a boating family. Because he is a retired U.S. Coast Guard officer, his experience in operating boats and ships covers the spectrum from 14 to 378 feet. He has served and worked in the Pacific, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Bering Sea, and the Atlantic - from Trinidad to Martha’s Vineyard. Multitalented, Pete is a singer-songwriter that enjoys playing the guitar. His novel, Heave To , loosely parallels his 3 years of drug enforcement operations on a Charleston based cutter in the early 80’s. When Pete is your captain, it's guaranteed you will probably enjoy a sea story or two.

Welcome aboard “The Palmetto”, our 45 foot Corinthian Catamaran that is USGC certified for 49 passengers. Powered by two Yamaha 150 4-stroke engines that are very quiet for a safe and enjoyable ride.
