CRESCENT Yacht – Stunning $600 Million Superyacht

CRESCENT yacht is a 135.50 meter (445 ft) superyacht built by Luerssen in Germany and launched in 2018. She can accommodate up to 18 guests and 40 crew members and cost a rumored US $600 Million.

Despite her considerable price, the owner is unknown and his identity has not been released to the public after her purchase.

CRESCENT is currently considered 19th on the list of largest yachts in the world and the 11th largest ever built by Luerrsen.

CRESCENT yacht interior

The nature of the interior and the exact layout are unknown, and only speculations and estimates are available.

It is assumed that CRESCENT includes a sizable gym, several swimming pools, a movie theatre, spa facilities, a beauty salon with several rooms, and an outdoor barbecue.

Wifi and air conditioning as well as a large elevator are also available aboard the superyacht.

The renowned French design house Zuretti was responsible for developing an extravagant interior design for the motor yacht CRESCENT.

They specialize in custom projects and have worked on a variety of luxury vessels in the past.

Their trademark style combines classic elements with contemporary features which is what CRESCENT’s interior most likely looks like as well.

Luerssen has described the interior as “traditionally styled” which suggests high-quality wooden elements, luxurious upholstery, and natural tones combined with opulent light fixtures.

According to the renowned manufacturer this style was chosen in accordance with the owner’s wishes.

Due to her size, she is estimated to have at least three major salons and most likely very spacious cabins.

CRESCENT has a distinct absence of open-air space since most of her decks are permanently covered.

Her pools and jacuzzis are all located in shaded areas and not visible from passing boats or from the air.

The only exception is a medium-sized pool located in a somewhat hidden spot on the aft deck. At least one of her pools is said to feature a custom-made glass bottom.

cres3

The exact layout of her cabins isn’t known, however, CRESCENT features a sizable master suite with panoramic views.

She can host up to 18 guests in an estimated 9 cabins and has space for a crew of 40 members.

One of the few publicly known features is her large glass atrium which spans three separate floors.

This impressive structure has a tinted glass front and can be seen from both her starboard and port side.

These large window fronts let in additional natural light giving the interior a more modern and innovative design. Across the entire yacht, a state-of-the-art entertainment system has been installed, including large tv screens in all bedrooms and salons as well as a modern audio system.

Specifications

CRESCENT displaces an incredible 9.194 tons making her one of the largest yachts in the world by weight. Even for her length of 135.50 m (445 ft) this is impressive.

Her top speed lies somewhere around 18 knots, although she tends to cruise at 12 knots which is reasonably fast considering her gross tonnage.

She is powered by twin MTU 16V4000 diesel engines and has a beam of 22.04 meters (72.4 ft) and a draft of 5.2 meters (17.1 ft).

CRESCENT sails under the Cayman Islands flag, which is one of the most popular in the world for superyachts.

Although the exact details of her sale from Luerssen are unknown, she is rumored to have cost US $600 Million with average running costs of US $25 to $50 Million every year.

She was constructed at the Lemwerder shipyard, which lies close to the city of Bremen in Germany. Since CRESCENT is currently in private ownership, she is not available for charter or for sale.

cres9

The Norwegian naval architect and designer Espen Oeino worked on CRESCENT and developed her eye-catching exterior.

Unlike the majority of large yachts, she is not white, which makes her stand out even more, especially when docked in popular harbors across Europe.

image 32

The secrecy surrounding her owner and interior has made her a popular target for yacht spotters, although there are still very few photos available of this magnificent vessel.

The exterior of CRESCENT is a dark navy blue, and the upper stories feature a silvery chrome color.

Her design has been described as masculine and muscular in the past, with a modern approach to traditional yacht layout that appears especially striking.

She has a large aluminum superstructure and a total of four decks. Guests have their choice of two helicopter landing pads, one located on the bow of the vessel and the other on the top deck.

The latter is equipped with a retractable helicopter hangar which can be extended to cover a small aircraft if needed.

This is a unique feature that cannot be found in very many other superyachts. It’s yet another example of the high levels of privacy that this yacht offers for its anonymous owners.

It goes without saying that a modern yacht such as CRESCENT is equipped with state-of-the-art zero-speed stabilizers.

On the lower aft deck, she has a generous beach club area with a large swimming platform and an adjacent pool.

However, unlike many other superyachts, this area cannot be closed off when the vessel is underway.

At night CRESCENT is illuminated by an advanced underwater lighting system that was tailor-made for the yacht. She carries at least three tenders, although their make and type are not known.

135m Lurssen superyacht CRESCENT arrives in the Mediterranean

By Katia Damborsky   10 May 2019

Making her maiden voyage into Mediterranean waters on May 8, the recently delivered 135m/445ft megayacht CRESCENT was spotted making a port call in Gibraltar.

Following delivery in September last year, the privately-owned Lurssen superyacht CRESCENT has made her first appearance in the West Mediterranean after spending several months in Norway.

Named ‘Project Thunder’ during her build, the yacht holds the spot for the 16th longest superyacht in the world.

She shares her position in the World’s Top 100 Superyachts with 27  fellow Lurssen builds, including the 136m/446ft superyacht ‘Flying Fox ’, which has recently been made available for private yacht charters.

Lurssen have claimed that she has been ‘traditionally styled’ to reflect the owner’s wishes.

superyacht crescent owner

While CRESCENT was shrouded in secrecy during her build, it is now known that the superyacht’s muscular exterior comes from the drawing boards of long-term collaborator Espen Oeino.

The esteemed designer has created a bold and striking profile, with chrome superstructure offset by a glossy ebony hull that lends her a powerful and predatory look.

The yacht holds the spot for the 16th longest superyacht in the world.

The interiors of the motor yacht have been headed up by Zuretti, and have been kept largely under wraps.

It is being reported that she will feature a split-level atrium with tall portions of glazing, and Lurssen have claimed that she has been ‘traditionally styled’ to reflect the owner’s wishes.

Among the yacht’s on-board highlights, photos show that she will have not one, but two helipads, one of which enjoys its own retractable hangar.

On the aft deck, a large swimming pool can be spotted for the owner and their guests to enjoy.

While CRESCENT is not available for superyacht charters , you can view all Lurssen superyachts for charter .

Spain impounds a third superyacht amid E.U. crackdown on Russian oligarchs

superyacht crescent owner

Spanish authorities have impounded a third superyacht believed to belong to a Russian oligarch, a seizure that is part of a global crackdown on those seen to support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Crescent, a yacht registered in the Cayman Islands, had requested to depart the Spanish Port of Tarragona on March 4, authorities said, but it did not set sail. The 443-foot yacht has an estimated value of about $600 million, according to SuperyachtFan , a website tracking luxury yachts, which cited its owner as an “unknown billionaire.”

Governments all over the world are working to identify and freeze the assets of Russian elites and their family members, including luxury apartments, money and yachts. Online sleuths are watching their moves, tweeting names, locations, ownership and the latest status of yachts owned by Russian oligarchs.

The Crescent is supersized even by global elite benchmarks — few of the world’s biggest yachts measure more than 400 feet . It was built by the German shipyard Lürssen , which constructs many of the largest yachts, and reportedly features a retractable helicopter hangar and a big glass-bottomed pool.

Schadenfreude at sea: The Internet is watching with glee as Russian oligarchs’ yachts are seized

Spain’s Transportation Ministry said it was collecting information “to confirm the real ownership” of the vessel and whether control of the ship corresponds to an individual on the list of people and entities sanctioned by the European Council over the war in Ukraine. If it turns out to belong to someone on the sanctions list, it will be “immobilized,” officials said.

Spanish authorities said that so far this week, they have seized the Valerie, in the Port of Barcelona, and the Lady Anastasia in Majorca’s Port Adriano. The former is suspected to be owned by Sergey Chemezov, a longtime ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin and a subject of Western sanctions. Chemezov is the head of Rostec, a Russian industrial and military conglomerate.

The United States and its allies have said they will not fight the Russian military directly or support Ukraine’s request for a no-fly zone , which U.S. officials fear could lead to broader war with a nuclear-armed superpower. But they are waging an economic war against the Putin-connected Russian super-elite .

Russian superyachts and aircraft barred from New Zealand under new sanctions

Protesters this week broke into a white stucco mansion in central London belonging to the family of a Russian oligarch, unfurled a Ukrainian flag, and declared the property “liberated” and ready for refugees. Even countries as far as New Zealand have said Russian superyachts and aircraft would be barred from entering its waters and airspace under new sanctions legislation passed in response to the Kremlin invasion.

Spain has seized a mega yacht believed to be owned by Igor Sechin, a Russian oligarch and close confidant to President Vladimir Putin , authorities said today.

The £458 million 'Crescent' vessel was docked in the port of Tarragona in Catalonia, the Spanish Transport Ministry said on Wednesday.

The 443-foot-long yacht, described by specialist publications as one of the biggest in the world, sails under a Caiman Island flag and arrived in Spain from Italy in November 2021, according to monitoring site Marine Traffic.

It is thought to belong to Sechin, the sanctioned chief executive of Russian oil giant Rosneft, a position he was personally appointed to by Putin.

The seizure comes a day after Spain impounded two other oligarch-owned vessels - the £140million Valerie, moored in Barcelona where it is undergoing repair, and the Lady Anastasia, a £6.5million boat.

Spain's Transport Ministry, which confirmed the seizure but not the Crescent's ownership, said it had docked in the Mediterranean port city on November 2 and had sought permission from the coast guard to depart on March 4, but never set sail.

It said it would hold the yacht while it sought to determine its ownership and whether the owner was covered by European Union sanctions targeted at Russia's super-rich and politically connected over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

A source with Spain's police told Reuters news agency that they believe the yacht belongs to Sechin, who is on U.S, UK and EU sanctions lists which were drawn up in the days after Putin launched his devastating invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

The Amore Vero, another yacht thought to belong to 61-year-old Sechin, who was sanctioned by the EU on February 28, was seized by French authorities on March 4.

A spokeswoman for the Tarragona Marina told Reuters the Crescent was registered in the name of a non-Russian company, though she declined to give the name.

'There are no Russian flagged or directly owned ships in the marina,' she said.

According to specialist publication Superyacht Fan, the German-built Crescent is one of the largest yachts in the world and is rumoured to have cost more than $600 million (£458million). The publication says its features include a retractable helicopter hangar and a glass-bottomed pool.

Several yachts have been seized since allies of Putin started to be sanctioned. With much of their wealth tied up in off-shore accounts, seizing the assets of oligarchs is a quick way to make the sanctions hit-home.

Sechin is a close ally of Vladimir Putin, is one of the most powerful people in Russia and has a reputation for being one of the most feared.

Nicknamed Darth Vader and seen as Putin's right-hand man, he is the Chief Executive of Rosneft, the the largest publicly owned oil and gas corporation in the world.

He has been a close confidante of Putin since the early 1990s. From 1991 to 1996, he worked at Saint Petersburg mayor's office, becoming chief of staff to Putin in 1994.

He went on to serve as Putin's deputy chief of staff when he became President in 2000.

Widely seen as Putin's right-hand man, Igor Sechin is the Chief Executive of Rosneft, the Russian state oil company

He was appointed chairman of Rosneft by Putin in 2004 before serving as Deputy Prime Minister of Russia in Putin's cabinet from 2008 to 2012.

Sechin is seen as one of Putin's most conservative allies and commands the loyalties of the FSB, spreading its influence in Russia's energy sector.

When sanctioning him, the UK Government said he is a 'prominent Russian businessman with close personal ties' to the Russian president, and he runs a company 'of strategic significance' to the Russian government.

In 2008, Hugo Chávez said that the idea for Venezuelan nuclear energy program came from Sechin, who went on to negotiate deals on weapons and nuclear technology deliveries to Venezuela.

A 2014 article said Sechin is 'widely believed to be Russia's second-most powerful person', claims that have been repeated since.

The taxes on the Rosneft company alone brought in £10billion for the Russian government in 2020, enough to fund about two-fifths of the annual military budget.

He has been married twice, with his second wife Olga Rozhkova seen frequently using his superyacht Amore Vero, which was seized in France as part of sanctions against Sechin over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

French authorities also seized the £86million Amore Vero yacht linked to Igor Sechin, a Putin ally who runs the Russian oil giant Rosneft, in the Mediterranean resore of La Ciota on March 4

Officials in France seized the £86million superyacht linked to Sechin in the Mediterranean port of La Ciotat close to Marseille last week.

The US government first sanctioned Sechin in March 2014, freezing his assets and banning him from travelling there.

The EU blacklisted Sechin and froze his assets at the end of February.

The Crescent is the third yacht tied to Russian oligarchs detained by Spanish authorities in three days.

The first to be impounded was the £140million Valerie - which is ultimately owned by Sergey Chemezov, a friend of Putin's from their KGB days.

The boat - which features seven bedrooms, a 6ft swimming pool, spa with massage facilities, a gym and a helideck - was the venue for Jennifer Lopez' 52nd birthday celebrations with Ben Affleck last year.

'Bennifer', as they were known during their power-couple heydey, were pictured cosying up on the vessel's sundeck while it was anchored near Saint Tropez in July.

The second vessel seized was the Lady Anastasia, a £6.5million vessel owned by the head of Russia's defence import agency Alexander Mikheyev, which was impounded in Majorca on Tuesday.

Police sources said the boat, which partially sank last month after a Ukrainian sailor sabotaged it, is being held at the marina of Port Adriano.

Taras Ostapchuk said he tried to scuttle the yacht after seeing images of missiles striking Ukrainian apartment blocks - then realising Mikheyev is an arms dealer.

Ostapchuk, who was arrested, has since fled Spain to fight in the war for Ukraine.

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, speaking on Spanish TV after the Valerie was seized, said: 'Today we seized - the technical term is provisionally immobilised - a yacht belonging to one of the principal oligarchs.

'There will be more. We have to act forcefully and firmly against Vladimir Putin, his regime and his oligarchs, who have enriched themselves in a system of corruption by oppressing the Russian people.'

He did not name the vessel but well-placed sources identified it as Valerie, which Chemezov owns via his stepdaughter - Anastasia Ignatova.

Sailing under the flag of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the vessel is registered to Ignatova, through a the British Virgin Islands company, according to a 2021 article published in the Pandora Papers information leak.

He enriched himself on the basis of his personal connections to Putin after the latter became Russian president in 2001.

In 2007, Putin appointed Chemezov as the head of defence and technology conglomerate Rostec which is worth tens of billions of dollars.

Solaris, a 460ft super yacht belonging to Roman Abramovich, was also being repaired at the same Barcelona shipyard as the Valerie until just a few days ago.

But the £420million vessel hurriedly departed for the 'safe haven' port of Montenegro where it docked at the weekend, just before sanctions hit.

Earlier this month it emerged Spanish Ministry of Transport officials had asked marinas in the Balearic Islands to inform them whether any vessels belonging to Russian nationals over 87ft were docked there.

Reports at the time said one of the superyachts that would be affected if seizures subsequently took place as part of a package of EU-ordered sanctions, would be Lady Anastasia.

The £5million yacht was at the centre of a drama last month in which Ukrainian sailor Taras Ostapchuk, an engineer on the vessel, tried to sink it.

The 55-year-old was arrested and later travelled to his homeland to sign up for military duty after being released by a court on bail in the Majorcan capital Palma.

He identified the owner of the vessel as Alexander Mijeev and said he acted after seeing a helicopter carrying weapons he believes were made by the oligarch's firm attacking an apartment block in Kyiv similar to one where his family lives.

The unrepentant sailor, speaking after being released by a judge pending an ongoing probe, vowed to join the fight against Putin's soldiers as he took a plane from Majorca to Poland before travelling overland to Ukraine.

He said: 'I don't regret for a minute what I did, only that I didn't achieve my objective which was to sink the yacht.'

Fellow crew members also believed to be Ukrainian saved the vessel from serious damage along with staff at Port Adriano marina in the south-west of the island.

Valerie is registered to Chemezov's stepdaughter Anastasia Ignatova according to a 2021 article published in the Pandora Papers information leak.

'Million Dollar Listing' reality TV star Ryan Serhant opens new office in Jupiter

Portrait of Kimberly Miller

Celebrity Realtor and reality TV star Ryan Serhant is opening his second office in Palm Beach County after adding 50 agents to his local roster and surpassing $300 million in closed sales over the past year.

Serhant, who starred in the Emmy-nominated “Million Dollar Listing New York” series and has a new show on Netflix called “Owning Manhattan," launched a Delray Beach office of the firm Serhant. (the period is part of the name) in the spring of 2023.

He is scheduled to open his second office Aug. 1 at Harbourside Place in Jupiter.

“We have proven that we aren’t just the new kids on the block in Palm Beach County, we are continuing to grow with top producing agents and setting record sales prices,” said Christian Prakas, the opening broker of Serhant. in Delray Beach. “We are thrilled with the success we’ve had so far.”

Prakas, who built the Delray Beach office from scratch, said the Jupiter office will open with 15 agents.

“We have already added some great people that were exposed to us via the show and we've signed three new listings this week due to seller’s seeing what we do best via Netflix,” Prakas said.

Serhant, who was one of three New York Realtors followed by the Bravo TV series “Million Dollar Listing,” founded Serhant. in the fall of 2020. He now has 600 agents and announced last year he was expanding into seven East Coast markets, including South Florida.

The new Netflix show “Owning Manhattan” follows a handful of Serhant. agents — from novices to seasoned professionals — as they hawk high-rise condominiums, apartments and townhomes in the competitive world of luxury listings.

Ryan Serhant opens office in Delray: Bravo TV real estate celebrity joins 'Beverly Hills Housewives' star in move to Palm Beach County

Serhant said last year that Palm Beach County was an obvious next step for his firm.

In 2021, he co-represented the buyer of the beachfront home at 535 N. County Road in Palm Beach, which set the record at the time for the highest residential sale on the island at a recorded $122.7 million.

That sale has since been surpassed with the current record of $170 million for an oceanfront Palm Beach estate at 598 N. County Road.

Serhant also noted West Palm Beach as a growing market.

“West Palm has become the new epicenter for large multi-billion-dollar financial institutions that have migrated to South Florida within the last three years,” Serhant said in an email to The Palm Beach Post last year. “We are experiencing a massive growth that is directly correlated with the real estate explosion on Palm Beach Island, and the migration to the Wall Street South.”

West Palm Beach and Palm Beach experienced a 93% increase in millionaires between 2013 and 2023, ranking the two cities third nationwide in this year’s Henley & Partners USA Wealth Report.

"The Serhant name has helped us build immediate credibility with clients," said Nicholas Gonzalez, who is a founding agent in the Delray Beach office. "He is super involved in his business and it's so cool that we can go on a listing appointment and if we need him to make the seller feel comfortable, he's easily accessible."

Gonzalez said while home sales have cooled since the frenzied early days of the pandemic, a specialized development division at Serhant. assembles branding packages for new projects to help its agents boost sales. The division worked with Gonzalez and his colleague Matthew Moser to market the Siréne Villas in Delray Beach, which are selling for between $5.3 million and $5.5 million. Gonzalez said Serhant. will "create a whole vibe" around a project whether it's a new single-family home or multi-unit development.

"They are taking the same method they use to sell 400-unit buildings in New York City and applying it here," Gonzalez said.

Serhant, whose new Jupiter office is at 114 N. Coastal Way, is one of at least three real estate agents doing business in Palm Beach County whose reputations were boosted by reality television shows.

Mauricio Umansky, who appeared on the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and now has his own Netflix series “Buying Beverly Hills,” opened a Palm Beach office of his firm The Agency in 2023. Umansky is separated from “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards.

More: 'Million Dollar Listing' star Fredrik Eklund moved to Miami as South Florida real estate booms

Fredrik Eklund, who co-starred with Serhant on “Million Dollar Listing New York”, opened an office of his Eklund Gomes Team at the Jupiter Yacht Club shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eklund, who has since moved to Miami after a stint in California, said in an interview earlier this year that he was drawn to Florida because of the number of new developments. Last year, the Eklund Gomes Team had $3.77 billion in total transactions from agents in New York, California, Texas and Florida.

“In LA, there just wasn’t a lot of new construction,” Eklund said.

Serhant, who is 6-foot-3, and Eklund, who is 6-foot-5, had a competitive — sometimes contentious — relationship on "Million Dollar Listing."

In Jupiter, their offices will be less than a mile from each other.

"I think there will be some natural competition between the two offices," Gonzalez said.

feadship project 1012 yacht launched

92m hybrid electric Feadship Drizzle delivered to owner

The 91.8-metre Feadship superyacht Drizzle has now been delivered following successful sea trials in June. According to BOATPro , her final destination is Malta, an archipelago in the central Mediterranean.

The superyacht was last seen departing from the shipyard's facilities in Amsterdam (13 June). Built for a repeat Feadship owner who came to the project with "informed requests based on his long experience of yachting", Drizzle 's design is by Dutch studio Sinot and the owner's related design office.

Characterised by chamfered exterior contours and a more traditional flared bow, the yacht has a modern-classic style with naval architecture by Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects . Notably, she is the first Feadship to carry full Hybrid Electric Class notation.

Drizzle 's interior is designed to reflect an "understated family home" with natural materials and finishes throughout. Accommodation is found on the main deck, along with the large pool and open-air lounge shaded by the deckhead overhang.

Meanwhile, the owner's suite, family lounge and wellness area are situated on the upper decks. Up top, the sundeck serves as an observation vantage point with a forward-facing sofa and sun loungers, while the aft deck is used for storing two rescue tenders.

One of the owner's key requirements in building the yacht was to house a more spacious beach club in the stern, which occupies one-quarter of the total length of the lower deck. The large, fixed stern platform combines with two fold-down platforms to create 165 square metres of water-level lounging space. Sweeping staircases on either side of the stern platform lead to the main deck aft.

Between the engine room and the beach club is a side-loading garage with room for two 10-metre tenders, a ski boat and various water toys. Forward is the crew area, comprising the galley, crew mess and crew accommodation.

Drizzle carries full Hybrid Electric Class notation, the power package comprising two main engines and shaft-driven fixed pitch propellers, coupled with electric motors of 560kW each and 1MW of Li-ion batteries. The e-motors work as shaft generators to produce electricity to serve the hotel load or recharge the battery bank, as well as for low-speed navigation while the generators or batteries generate the required electrical power.

Albert Abma, Feadship project manager, commented on the launch in April: "Working with the experienced owner, designers and owner's team has been a professional pleasure. Gathering the operational experience of the owner's team with the yard’s building experience has resulted in this modern-classic, state-of-art and full-custom new Feadship".

The news comes closely after the first proper sighting of Project 713 , Feadship's first solar powered superyacht. She is now preparing for sea trials.
