The yacht club operates on Batumi Boulevard near the pier. Guests of the city can use the parking spots and all necessary services including, the electricity supply, dry storage, technical support, and more.

Batumi Boulevard is the main and most visited sightseeing of the city. The recreation zone, which at the same time is a cultural heritage monument, for centuries, has unites the city's guests or native inhabitants. It involves a seven-kilometer seaside promenade, 4 historic alleys, bike path, and more than 40 thousand tree-plants planted at different times on the area. About Batumi Sea Port

Batumi Sea Port - Modern, high-tech container, ferry and general cargo port in Batumi .

The history of the Batumi Sea Trade Port dates back to the Roman Empire when Batumi Sea Port was one of the important points of the Roman trade network.

The port of Batumi was distinguished by its geostrategic and natural advantages. Especially:

- The port is located in a natural deep-water area, big ships and vessels can be received here.

- Well protected from the coast.

There is no need for a channel to enter the port, that’s why shipowner doesn’t need to pay a fee. During the formation of the global economic network in the second half of the 19th century, above-mentioned advantages are the reason, Batumi sea port received the status of "Porto Franco" (Free Port) in 1878-1885. The main factor contributing to the development of the city and the port is the oil transported from Baku to Batumi by rail. Baku-Batumi Pipeline was built in 1900. It was one of the first oil pipelines in the world.

Daniel Ergin, the president of the Cambridge Energy Research Association, writes in his book “The Prize” that due to the geostrategic location of the port and the above-mentioned advantages, the world's first oil was shipped from the port of Batumi in August 1892 via the "Miurex" tanker. It was also the first tanker that covered the Suez Canal on August 22 of 1892.

The authors of this project were famous people such as Nobel, Rothsildi, Samuel, Mantashev and others. Batumi port has been known as an essential part of the Eurasian and international transport corridor. Nowadays, Batumi Port is a connecting line between Europe and Asia. The port is connected to the Caucasus, Central Asia, Russia and Turkey by road and rail.

The port is also used as a major transit port for processing oil from Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Batumi Port can meet customers’ requirements for various cargo, ships and passengers. The port has 5 terminals: Oil Terminal, Dry Cargo Terminal, Container Terminal, Rail-Ferry Crossing and Passenger Terminal. These terminals are equipped properly, which contributes to meet customers’ requirements in a quality and timely manner.

How to Get to Batumi?

Reaching Batumi is convenient and offers multiple options. You can fly, take a bus, train, drive, or even travel by ferry (available from May to September). For those coming from Turkey, there's the unique option of crossing the Georgian border on foot.

Batumi's international airport welcomes flights from cities like Moscow, Minsk, Istanbul, Riyadh, Yerevan, Almaty, Riga, and Tbilisi, among others. For land travel, there's a modern electric train from Tbilisi that operates twice daily, with a journey time of around six hours. If trains are fully booked, buses or minibuses (marshrutka) are viable alternatives. Buses are frequently available, and minibuses leave from Tbilisi's Didube bus station hourly.

Sea travel to Batumi is also an option during the warmer months, with ferries operating from Chernomorsk in Ukraine and Sochi in Russia.

In Batumi, Georgian is the official language. Locals often speak with a distinctive dialect that sets the Adjarians apart. Russian is widely understood and spoken. In hospitality settings like hotels and restaurants, staff typically converse in English, and in some instances, Turkish as well.

The lari (GEL) is the official currency of Georgia. In Batumi, ATMs and currency exchange services are readily available for your convenience. The lari comes in banknotes of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 GEL, and coins are in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50 tetri. One GEL equals 100 tetri.

Internet and SIM Cards in Batumi

In Batumi, you'll find services from three major mobile and internet providers: Magti, Geocell, and Cellfie. Monthly plans start at about 3-4 GEL. Brief History of Batumi

In the 5th century, King Vakhtang Gorgasali integrated the area of present-day Batumi into his kingdom. From the 13th to the 16th centuries, the Gurieli dynasty ruled Batumi, until it was eventually conquered by the Ottoman Empire.

By the late 19th century, Batumi was annexed by the Russian Empire and became a porto franco, or free port, allowing duty-free import and export of goods. This spurred its transformation into a European-style town, especially in the central area near the port, characterized by two-story buildings.

During the Soviet era, Batumi emerged as a popular resort, attracting workers from all USSR republics.

Today, Batumi is the thriving capital of Adjara and a central hub for Black Sea tourism in Georgia. The city is undergoing rapid development, and its appeal as a beautiful resort city continues to draw increasing numbers of visitors each year.
