The Mirage Catamaran is the perfect platform for weddings, private events, and parties, accommodating up to 130 pax, including caterers, DJs, and entertainers. However, the actual number of guests may vary depending on the type of event, as extra staff such as first aiders, lifeguards, bouncers, and crew may be required. You can rely on a total number of 115 pax of your guests to have an unforgettable sailing experience aboard the Mirage Catamaran.

Upon your arrival, our fully trained crew and stewardesses will be there to welcome you, and to enhance your experience, we'll be presenting you with a welcoming MCC/Prosecco or sparkling juice. In addition to this, the Mirage offers the following amenities:

The Mirage features a fully stocked bar on board where guests can pay either in cash or by deposit prior to the charter. For those summer cocktails, we can even hire a slushy machine! Please refer to the attached list for the available drinks.

We kindly ask that guests refrain from bringing their own drinks on board under any circumstance. However, if there is a specific drink not on the list, the boat will arrange it for you.

Please note that sponsors of beers or wines will incur a corkage fee of R5,000 (maximum of 20 bottles of wine and 120 beers allowed).

We highly recommend canapé style catering, and we would be delighted to assist you in finding the perfect chef or catering company that can cater to your specific requirements. Please refer to the attached sample menu for your convenience.

Please note that guests are strictly prohibited from bringing their own catering under any circumstance.

Service fee:

A 15% service charge is charged on the food and drinks which is dispersed to the crew.

For all charters of 60+ guests, a mandatory service of security is required.

DJ / Entertainer:

The Mirage is equipped with an onboard sound system that has USB and Bluetooth connections, making it easy for you to play your own music.

In the event that you wish to provide your own DJ, they can use the onboard equipment (CDJs 2000 & speakers), and the fee for the first 6 hours is approximately R9,500, with an additional charge of R2,000 per hour thereafter.

If you prefer to have a DJ provided by us, the rate starts at approximately R9,500 for the first 6 hours (varying depending on the event), with an additional charge of R2,000 per hour thereafter. DJ hire for up to a 4-hour charter is charged at R3,250. Additional rates may apply for extended periods, and we will be happy to provide you with a quote.

Water toys:

We are pleased to offer the use of our floating pool, water slide, and SUP boards for charters lasting 4 hours or longer.

Lifesavers:

If you have a larger group that will be participating in water sports, we can arrange to have lifeguards on board for added safety.

Relax and spread out on the Mirage's spacious double deck configuration. The bridge deck level boasts a vast saloon area, while the upper deck features an expansive flybridge with VIP seating for 61 passengers, unobstructed views of Cape Town's stunning vistas, and a second bar for ultimate convenience and service. With seating for up to 52 guests, the large contemporary bar and huge open area on the deck are perfect for dancing, entertainment, and socializing.

Inside, enjoy complete comfort with three luxuriously fitted bathrooms accessible via stairs leading into the hulls from the saloon. Indulge in gourmet cuisine prepared on board in the fully equipped commercial-grade kitchen or on the two large stainless steel outdoor grills on the aft deck.

Bask in the warm African sun on the catamaran's front netting and trampoline area or relax on tailor-made decking, perfectly designed to host weddings, live entertainment, and special occasions. Mirage Casino deals last hand along Las Vegas Strip

Hard Rock International plans guitar-shaped hotel where volcano spouted for 34 years

After a 34-year roll on the Las Vegas Strip, the Mirage Hotel and Casino has finally crapped out.

The 3,000-room resort has closed its doors to make way for a three-year transition into the Hard Rock Las Vegas at 3400 South Las Vegas Boulevard, CNN.com Wire Service reported.

Hard Rock International, based in Florida, will swap its tropical theme for a 700-foot-tall hotel tower in the shape of a guitar, similar to its ax-shaped hotel in Hollywood, Florida.

The casino’s famous volcano will make its final blast to make way for new rooms.

The Mirage was opened in 1989 by casino mogul Steve Wynn, ushering in a new era of luxury for the Strip. It was the first resort to have a sidewalk spectacle, the volcano. The curbside wonder prompted the Bellagio and Venetian to imitate the Mirage’s dancing fountains and canals.

Architects told CNN affiliate KSNV-TV that the tropical design created by Wynn was meant to resemble an oasis along the chaotic Las Vegas Strip.

“In this particular facility we said, ‘No you are not in a casino; you are in this beautiful tropical engineered place that made you feel good about yourself,’” Mirage architect Paul Steelman told the NBC station. “And that is what it was for so many years.” 

The Mirage hosted Las Vegas shows such as Siegfried & Roy’s white tigers and a Cirque du Soleil spectacle set to Beatles music.

MGM Resorts International bought the Mirage from Wynn in 2000 and sold it in 2022 for $1.1 billion to Hard Rock International. It’s the second time Hard Rock will have a presence in Las Vegas, with the brand previously owning the now-Virgin Hotel off the Strip, according to CNN.

Oil depot fire, casualties reported in Russia’s Krasnador Krai following Ukraine’s drone strike

On the night of May 31, 2024, Ukrainian drones targeted an oil depot at Port Kavkaz in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, causing significant damage and casualties.

The attack resulted in fires at the depot, with reports of multiple employees being injured. Local authorities and Russian media confirmed the strikes, with some sources reporting the destruction of several oil tanks and ongoing efforts to extinguish the fires.

Local authorities say the fire originated at a fuel depot housing three petroleum tanks. According to Crimean Wind, the fuel is used to supply gas to Russian forces in parts of occupied Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

Authorities claim that there are multiple casualties among the employees of the oil depot as a result of the strike.

A Ukrainian drone attack sparked a fire and damaged several storage tanks at a fuel depot in Russia’s Krasnodar region, the region’s crisis administration said on Friday.

About six drones were destroyed and debris fell on the refinery near the village of Yurovka, the administration said on the Telegram messaging app.

“Several tanks were damaged,” the administration said, adding no one was injured in the attack.

Drone attacks on energy facilities inside Russia’s territory have become more frequent in the past few months. Kyiv officials say that they conduct the attacks to undermine Russia’s war effort and respond to Moscow’s strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

The oil depot was last attacked on May 31, according to Russian state media.
