Ellis beach yacht club wedding photos.

I’ve been super amped to photograph an Ellis Beach Yacht Club wedding – having seen the venue pop up in on my radar many times.

So when I heard from Kristyn & Nick that they were getting married there, I was pretty excited!

Being a complete DIY venue, you really do have a blank canvas to work with and so much scope to create the wedding of your dreams. It’s also absolute beachfront – which (weirdly enough) isn’t all that common to find in Cairns.

Something that really stood out to me on the wedding day was how close and tight the family connections were – you could sense the strong bond & connection between Nick and his siblings, super powerful!

The way we love to work is capturing as much of the day in a candid / hands off nature as possible, just allowing the real stories to unfold – with a minimum of creative shoot thrown into the mix. This was a perfect fit for our vibe – beautiful beachfront wedding, super quick photoshoot literally on the beach right where the wedding took place, and then boom – back to enjoy the party!

The weather held out beautifully & as the light faded from the sky, the beautiful festoon ropes took over, everyone ate their allocation of carbs for the following week courtesy of the Good, Bad, & Fugly Food Truck – and the party pumped well into the night.
