NA HOKU 3 is our brand new catamaran located in front of Duke’s Restaurant, departing directly off of the sandy shores of Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Oahu.

NA HOKU 2 has retired from the beach and is now located at Kewalo Basin Harbor Slip F23!

Our breezy adventure cruises include complimentary drinks and will take you to the most beautiful spots, where you can marvel at Diamond Head or see an amazing Hawaiian sunset. With seating for up to 49 guests, including a splash action net area, get ready for some fun – you will likely get splashed! This was a great experience. This sail is very calm and relaxing and a completely different experience from the trade wind sails, where you expect to get tossed around and get wet. This is the best deal in Waikiki. Was there for a week and went on this cruise three times. ~$30 for one hour sail with open bar. So, you can sit in a hotel bar and nurse one drink or be on the ocean enjoying amazing views, listen to lively music and chug down multiple drinks. No brainer. Shout out to Dustin for the amazing sailing experience.

This was a total blast! The guys running the boat were friendly and entertaining. The sites were phenomenal. The sea life is gorgeous. And the drinks were very good. I booked a second trip, can’t wait to sale again!

CANCELLATION POLICY

Guests will receive a full refund only with a minimum 24-hour notice of cancellation. Full refunds are also issued in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

During the slower seasons and typically the morning sails, tour cancellations can occur due to a minimum requirement of 6 booked guests. In these rare situations, guests are always given the option to rebook or refund. If you are concerned about your tour, please call with any questions.

Guests wishing to rebook or reschedule must give 24 hours notice. Contact us by phone directly to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows and guests canceling within 24 hours of departure will be charged full price .*Groups of 20 or larger are required to give 72-hour notice to cancel or modify bookings.

MAITAʻI CATAMARAN

The amazing Maitaʻi Catamaran is an ocean adventure, sight-seeing tour and party all in one. This “state of the art”, twin hulled, 45 foot catamaran seats 49 passengers comfortably. United States Coast Guard inspected and certified, the Maita’i is ultra-safe and a great time for the entire family.

Maitaʻi offers a variety of sailings for you to choose from. Enjoy the Island sun and scenery on one of our Tradewind sails. Watch the Oahu coast roll by as the wind fills the sails on a journey you’ll remember a lifetime.

Looking for something a bit more romantic? Try our Sunset Maitai Sail or Maita’i Fireworks Sail. Have a Maitai or one of the other refreshments from our bar while you watch the sun or moon set slowly into the horizon, closing another wonderful day in paradise.

The Holokai is a beautiful, custom-designed, handcrafted 49 passenger beach catamaran. She was commissioned and splashed in 2015. Holokai is equipped with spacious seating, netted splash area, Bluetooth sound system and a clean and comfortable bathroom. Our professional, fun and accommodating captains and crew are on hand to provide 5-star service and the most memorable experience on the waters of Waikiki!

We have a bar on board with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Beverage options include: juice, water, soda; Bud Light; Corona; a variety of premium craft beers from Maui Brewing Company; a pinot grigio wine; a champagne; assorted hard seltzers; and our house cocktail the famous “Holokai Hooch” consisting of: passion orange guava juice, peach schnapps, and dark Hawaiian rum- a favorite with all our guests!Please keep in mind that all liquor laws apply to our vessel and outside alcohol is prohibited from being brought onboard. Awesome experience.

We had a great time at the turtle canyon morning snorkel tour. The crew was super friendly and helpful and it was very safe, even you had never snorkeled before you could enjoy this. We saw half a dozen different turtles, surfacing and all. Awesome experience.

This was by far the best catamaran we have been on! The staff is AMAZING. The crew is so helpful and funny. They make you feel like your part of their crew for sure. We loved spending time on the water and hearing all they had to say about the islands and animals. The captain was great! We will be doing this again!

We saw a sea turtle and a group of dolphins followed us for a while and did some "tricks". No whales on this trip but the crew made the experience fun by telling jokes and talking about the animals.

I can't say enough nice things about our trip on the Makani Catamaran! The staff were warm and friendly, the drinks we're tasty and the views were breathtaking. We had the opportunity to stand in the Captain's Galley and take photos. Captain Jon was so accommodating and thoughtful - he even offered to take our picture. This is one experience you do not want to miss out on! Highly recommend.

The boat was in great shape, staff was very professional and committed to safety. I appreciated that more than anything. I would highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting the Island, the views are well worth it. Great value trip!

So, full disclosure I was pretty skeptical that this would be fun at all. In fact, this was totally my wifes idea. That said, of all the things we did in Hawaii, this ended up being one of my favorites. We had been doing pushing ourselves pretty hard for several days up to this point and it was just really nice to sit back for a couple hours with drinks in hand and hang out as a family. We sat on the netting in the front and our 9,7, and 5 year old kids thought it was awesome to watch the water go by underneath and at one point even had some dolphins following us. 100% would suggest and will definitely do again.

I am so happy that I booked this during our trip to Hawaii. The crew was nice, hospitable, and very engaging. They made the sail super fun for everyone on board. Our captain was even able to show us sea turtles and a whale, even though we were not promised that when booking! Plus there was a full service bar and the drinks were awesome! I would definitely recommend to everyone. It is definitely worth it.

I have taken multiple sunset tours in Hawaii. None of them let you swim. This was amazing. My kids and I swam in the ocean, we saw turtles and seals, they had free snacks and drinks for purchase. The crew was so chill and friendly. I highly recommend this tour!

Maita'i Catamaran

Come aboard the Maita'i Catamaran for an ocean adventure unlike any other. Sailing daily along Waikiki Beach on Oahu's beautiful south shore, this is a fun sightseeing cruise and party all in one! Enjoy spectacular photo opportunities with views of Honolulu, Waikiki and Diamond Head. Friday Fireworks Sail

Discover the beautiful views of the ocean, local wildlife, the iconic east side of Oahu, and the sun dipping into the sea as you join us on a private catamaran cruise in Waikiki . We’ll depart from Kewalo Basin Harbor located in Honolulu and make our way up the coastline to Diamond Head, making stops along the way for any turtles, dolphins, or whales we may spot during our journey.

Once at the top of our route, we will find a calm anchorage to relax at and enjoy the Hawaii sunset. Guests are welcome to join me for guided snorkeling and swimming or just dip their toes in the water as we soak in the beautiful afternoon. Booked the sunset catamaran for our family. Can not say enough amazing things about the boat, crew, and service they provided. They were very patient with 2 kids snorkeling, answered all our questions, and we even got to see dolphins. Such a wonderful experience, definitely a must do experience in Oahu! You will not be disappointed.

Best thing we did on the islands! Crew was very knowledgeable about the island. We snorkeled with sea turtles and fish. A pod of dolphins unexpectedly joined us on our sunset cruise. I was just lovely. Would 10000% recommend.

This was our second time using Hawaii Ocean Charters we had Captain Sam whom we had in the fall of 2022 and Nick as well. Sam remembered us from our trip in the fall. We were greeted with warm welcomes and after a brief safety refresher we were on our way. We stopped to swim for a little bit. They gave my daughter a mask so she could dive down and see all the fish. They really do a great job to make sure everyone is comfortable and both Sam and Nick were super personable. I would highly recommend using them. If you don’t want to mess with a bunch of strangers on a sunset catamaran this is certainly the way to go.

We had a great sunset cruise! it was so nice having the entire catamaran to ourselves. We could sit upfront on the nets (with a bean bag to support our backs no less) or go up top with the captain for great views and conversation. The crew was great, and we will definitely be doing this tour again next time we are in Waikiki.

Overall rating

A really fun trip that is great for groups of friends and families. I went with both, including a child and we all had fun! Beautiful views all around and plenty of good photo ops. You won’t be wearing shoes and will be ... walking through water so make sure you are wearing clothes you don’t mind getting wet! If you get sea sick just stay shoreside until the party is over :).

From start to finish the staff was all engaging and professional. They worked through any language barriers and got everyone set up for the cruise. The size of the boat and number of people on board was just right, intim ... ate but still lively and fun. There was plenty of room onboard to move around and never felt crowded. The views were gorgeous throughout. When the water got a little choppy, the back of the boat was still calm. Just a great time made better by the crew, would definitely go again.

Our tour operator, Francesco was most accommodating in rescheduling for the next day. It so happened that the other four participants had to cancel due to their travel issues, so Francesco and his partner took my wife and me for what turned out to be private experience. We did not see any turtles this time, however, they took us further out where we saw five whales swimming only a few yards from us. We have done several snorkling charters in many different locals and both my husband and son agreed this was by far the best. Francesco and Nick were amazing not only did we enjoy some incredible snorkling but they asked if we would like to venture out to where another boat had spotted whales. We went for the snorkling but got to see spinner dolphins and whales, making for a very memorable day. This is my third time in Oahu and I must say the best tour I’ve experienced! Francesco and Nick were fabulous with my boys. They had much to share about the island from the ocean life to great places to eat. We were on the Keanuenue at the 9:30am departure time. We first headed towards Diamond Head and saw SO MANY spinner dolphins! The dolphins were friendly, playful and even showed us their version of tag. We headed to Turtle Canyon after and saw many types of fish, and turtles big and small. My son felt a bit queasy so went back on the boat. I’m so grateful that Francesco and Nick were prepared - they had essential oils ready and that really helped the nausea. On the way back to the pier, we were lucky to spot a few humpback whales! Francesco and his crew are great - very professional, knowledgeable - and just great guys to be out on the water with. Will definitely book them again next trip. We saw whales real quick and followed them. Saw the whales dive and show their tails. So cool!!! We had enough time and they took us to snorkel with the turtles. As the whales arrived late to the party, the crew offered to extend our trip so we could get a couple more visits in. This is probably not a boat and/or excursion for everybody, their boat is a very maneuverable, fast, and open setup, with bench seats down the middle and areas you can sit on the inflatable RHIB inflatable tubes. There is no cover on this boat (yet), so you're open to the elements, but you'll be able to get to the whales quickly and the captain and mate know their stuff! We outran and got ourselves into much better positions than the huge boats that were clustered up. You'll have more space to walk around, you're closer to the water to see the fish/turtles, and if there are whales, this is the platform to be on! Overall, I think this was the best way to experience the whale watching. It's not a snorkeling boat, and you'll feel the ocean, but if you're into that, this is great! You’ll check out some great snorkeling and unreal views of waikiki and diamond head. The boat is very clean and well kept. The captain and his crew are friendly, knowledgeable so they have all the spots, and very skilled so you the ride is smooth. We personally saw whales, dolphins, turtles, and plenty of fish.
