ACE Yacht – Splendid $160 M Superyacht

The ACE yacht was launched by Lürssen in 2012.

The 87m(285.4ft) superyacht is currently for sale at $160,000,000 after being used exclusively by the owner.

The unconventional design of the boat has brought great pleasure to guests and crew alike and features many toys and tenders to make the yachting experience memorable.

The boat has a running cost of $10-$15 million per year and is the 32nd largest boat built by Lürssen.

ACE yacht interior

The ACE yacht was closely influenced by the requirements of Yuriy Kosiuk to be a family-orientated yacht.

With his guidance, Winch Design took the unconventional designs of the owner to create an interior that aimed at having a good time with family and making life onboard work better.

To achieve this, the traditional layout of a superyacht was reorganized.

Several changes were made, including placing the owner’s suite facing aft and not upfront, allowing the owner privacy and panoramic views of the ocean.

The crew deck was built on the main deck, with sliding doors on the side deck to give them air, create happy working conditions, and attract the best crew.

ACE Yacht.jpg4

The interior includes ten guests in 5 rooms and accommodation for 30 crew. The interior reflects a contemporary grand hotel with a light and fresh feel.

There is a Roman villa-inspired spa on the lower deck, a Russian tearoom, and a nightclub on the upper deck.

The main deck has a gym, and cinema and is large compared to the owner’s deck to allow more space for family fun.

The exterior features unique sweeping arches that appear wave-like on the haunches of the superstructure.

The superstructure is aluminum, and the hull is steel. ACE is a Lürssen construction designed by Winch Design.

The exterior reflects a seamless transition between the interior and exterior. The arches on the ACE yacht are meant to show the “fantastic power of a wave,” reflecting the passion and enthusiasm of the owner. ACE has several toys to aid in the fun of the family and the guests.

Conrad Shipyard has scored a remarkable achievement with its latest creation, ACE. This magnificent superyacht is not only the largest ever built by the shipyard but also in Poland. ACE made its debut in late 2022 in Gdansk and now sets sail with strength and determination to explore distant seas.

With an already impressive collection of international awards, ACE continues to garner well-deserved recognition. The success of this superyacht is evident in its numerous international accolades, a testament to the expertise of its Swiss owner, who appreciates the immense potential of a shipyard with twenty years of experience and boundless talent, always ready for new challenges.

ACE, designated as Inside C144s, is the result of meticulous craftsmanship by skilled artisans and accomplished engineers. They have added another captivating chapter to Conrad Shipyard’s young and thrilling history under the guidance of Mikołaj Król, Chairman, and CEO of Conrad, who cannot contain his enthusiasm for the international recognition achieved: “The boat is a magnificent combination of harmony, elegance, and sophisticated craftsmanship. This is an entirely different world inside and outside. A piece of art and timeless sculpture, I said to myself with a pride when I saw ACE on the water for the very first time.”

With a volume just below 500 GT (497 to be precise), ACE offers unparalleled comfort and a delightful ambiance that promotes uncompromised privacy and tranquility. The exquisite interior, crafted with the highest quality materials, unfolds within the superb 44.5-meter (145 ft 3 in) vessel, providing an experience of prestigious cruising.

The British studio Reymond Langton, renowned for its skilled pen and creativity, played a crucial role in defining ACE’s identity. The exterior design boasts modern, elegant, and timeless lines. This design holds significant importance for the future, as ACE represents the first unit of the C144s line, with more to follow in the coming years.

ACE’s bold and striking silhouette reflects a powerful and dynamic presence on the water, with a substantial maximum beam of 8.9 meters (29 ft 2 in). Its straight and imposing bow confidently cuts through the waves, showcasing its steel hull and purely white aluminum superstructure, accentuated by the glossy black bulwarks and hull band.

The soft lines and meticulously crafted details reveal proportional beauty from every angle. ” Our signature undercut “rolling wave” on the superstructure reflects the sky above and the water below, simultaneously casting captivating shadows on the decks as the sun moves across the sky ” describes Reymond Langton Design Studio. The exterior decks harmoniously merge with the interior design, offering a unique and refreshing approach to spacious areas.

The renowned Dutch firm Diana Yacht Design collaborated with Conrad Shipyard to define the naval architecture and create a unique hull. This collaboration follows their successful partnership on the previous superyacht, Viatoris, delivered in 2018, which also received great acclaim. The conscious synergy is summarized in Diana’s words: “ Our team of engineers went the extra mile to make the construction easier for the yard’s craftsmen to build and for the crew to maintain after completion. We took special care of the fuel economy with clever construction solutions for weight reduction.”

M2 Atelier, the Milan-based studio led by the indissoluble duo Marco Bonelli and Marijana Radovic, shaped ACE’s interior soul. Their synergy embodies the Italian essence, tailored to perfection according to their cherished philosophy: “Less is enough,” conveying a more fluid and informal concept. This approach is beautifully demonstrated in the main salon, where openness and transparency converge, creating a vast and inviting space.

Moreover, almost all the furnishings have been designed to give the sensation of being suspended from the ground, accentuating the feeling of continuity and the concept of a ‘floating home.’ The full-height windows provide generous and invaluable natural light, bestowing an airy elegance upon the salon, offering a continuous majestic view of the oceanic landscape.

The superyacht can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests in 5 beautifully furnished cabins. The master room is positioned at the bow of the Main Deck, with two VIP rooms and two guest rooms located in the center of the Lower Deck.

The designers opted for the use of carefully selected materials, with light wood (oak on the interior, teak on the exterior), marble, gray leather, light fabric, and dark metal taking center stage. In this way, the interiors create a sense of original exclusivity and generosity derived from meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail, emphasizing high quality while eschewing opulent accumulation of superfluous materials.

Onboard the vessel, the emphasis is placed on continuity and perspective between the interior and exterior decks. ACE offers vast outdoor relaxation areas: all spaces on board are entirely customized and adapted to the navigation plans and lifestyle of the owner.

Upon boarding, hospitality is immediate with a generous lounge area to relax and rejuvenate with a refreshing welcome cocktail before the doors of the Main Deck open, revealing a surprisingly designed Main Saloon that accentuates its volume with large sofas and is complemented by an inviting dining table for ten guests, perfect for a gourmet lunch prepared in the nearby main galley.

Moving along the corridor to the right, you reach the center of ACE where the central staircase is located, providing access to the other decks. A few steps forward towards the bow, and the owner’s cabin of ACE opens up, expressing the quintessence of expanding the overall perception of space. “ The spaces allowed us to experiment and push the boundaries. Every corner of the boat was designed to create spaces that were like those found in much larger vessels” explain Marco Bonelli and Marijana Radovic from M2. The detailed nature of the interiors is created by large windows, a sofa, a king-size bed, and suspended bedside tables, all balanced in perfect lighting. Sections of mirrored glass integrated into the ceiling expand the space. The full-beam master bathroom is entirely clad in white Lasa marble, featuring two monolithic sinks and a spacious central shower cabin.

Ascending the stairs to the Bridge Deck, you reach the command bridge salon with an asymmetrical and informal lounge area, featuring a comfortable L-shaped sofa extending below a row of panoramic windows, while a bookshelf conceals a large-screen TV behind a panel. Towards the aft, seamlessly connected, the Alfresco area opens up with a lovely table for intimate outdoor breakfasts or dinners, allowing guests to enjoy the evening while admiring the stars from the comfort of the sofas. At the bow, the captain maneuvers and directs all onboard operations from the wheelhouse, which includes an operational office and a dedicated cabin, always ready for action. Some guests can enjoy the navigation experience by sitting next to the captain and observing the maneuvers, while others can venture outside safely and sink into generous sofas for a healthy tan or indulge in a cocktail with the sea breeze on their faces. Here, there is also a conveniently maneuverable crane for launching one of the two RIBs available on board.

Ascending externally to the Sun Deck, you reach ACE’s highest point, offering a complete panoramic view and a generous open space awaiting guests for their morning workouts, featuring a treadmill to keep in shape or yoga sessions with a salute to the sun. A dining table and a pleasant bar corner with six designer stools are perfect for enjoying a refreshing smoothie or savoring an aperitif in the shade while awaiting the sunset. The infinity pool at the bow provides an opportunity to enjoy panoramic views in utmost privacy, fulfilling all requests for perfect relaxation. It’s not just for rest and sunbathing, though. At sunset, it transforms into a glamorous and imaginative venue for carefree parties. Two powerful stabilizers ensure maximum comfort, even accommodating some excessive dance steps.

Descending to the Lower Deck, guests are welcomed into four guest cabins with private bathrooms, all characterized by a light and relaxing color scheme, with subtle variations on the theme. ” Shape is the result of an optimized relationship between space and structure” says M2 Atelier.

The splendid aft platform with a Beach Club is truly a delight, serving as a starting point for water activities with the available Jet Skis and SeaBobs in the nearby transverse garage, along with the second service RIB. It is also the perfect meeting point with the water, an essential element of this adventure where simply dipping your feet can make you feel at peace with the sea.

At the bow, the professional crew of 8 members finds accommodation in 4 double cabins, always ready for any operation and at the disposal of guests and their requests. Service areas are also located here.

On the same deck, adjacent to the garage, is the Engine Room that propels ACE with two powerful diesel engines and two Caterpillar generators, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 13.8 knots or achieve a transoceanic cruising range of 5,100 nautical miles at 10 knots, facilitated by low aerodynamic resistance and efficiency guaranteed by the hull design.

With her remarkable autonomy, this versatile vessel can dedicate herself to exploring new horizons and embarking on long stays at sea alone, or simply enjoying the warm and crystalline Mediterranean coasts.

ACE is truly a masterpiece superyacht, and after her launching and international debut, she will be available to her owner and a select group of charter enthusiasts who can seize the opportunity to embrace her essence and her value.

Ace  features accommodation for 10 guests across her six impressive staterooms. She is also capable of carrying up to 30 crew members onboard to ensure a relaxed journey. Although this is her current accommodation layout, builders say it would be possible for a future owner to convert the massage room into a sixth stateroom, which would then provide accommodations for 12 guests.

As well as a helipad, her main deck offers a cinema, gym and guest suites with easy access between them all. The master suite faces aft and offers unobstructed panoramic views with a small aft terrace providing a wind-sheltered area for the owner.

Unique port and starboard private staircases run directly from the owner’s deck all the way to the swim platform. That means the owner has no need to pass through any deck interiors.

The forward area of the dining saloon on the upper deck is a cosy sitting room and library area with a fireplace, piano and games table. This deck also includes a bespoke Russian tea room and nightclub.

Ace yacht aft deck

Located aft on the lower deck,  Ace  features large tender garage doors for easy water access. She also has another opening in her hull which has the option to be utilised as a tender docking area and a beach-style swimming platform.

Ace yacht cinema

Ace  is also known for having travelled with the  recently-sold support vessel,  the 67.15-metre  Garçon . The  Damen -built support vessel was the Dutch shipyard’s first large support vessel and provided  Ace  with tender, crew, provisioning and helicopter support.

The pair of yachts and their crew have also been involved in environmental  clean-up missions in the past. Powered by twin MTU 16V 4000 M61R diesel engines,  Ace  can cruise comfortably at 12 knots and reaches a top speed of 17 knots.

Inside C144s ACE. Conrad Shipyard Presents a History – Making Superyacht.

Any new superyacht project should prioritize allowing owners to embrace unrivaled comfort and ravishing surroundings, while still being able to enjoy privacy and tranquility without compromise. With fittings of the highest quality, this 44.5-meter superb craft sets new standards in every sphere. Thoughtfully designed to deliver superior cruising experience, ACE is every owner’s dream.

The very first pure custom superyacht for an experienced Swiss client, ACE was launched in October 2022 at Conrad shipyard, becoming the largest motor yacht in the company and in Poland’s history. Reflecting a modern, yet timelessly stylish design, she marks the first unit from the C144s line, with more to come in upcoming years.

A different world ACE reunited the Conrad Shipyard, Reymond Langton and Diana Yacht Design, the same team that had worked on the impressive 40-meter Viatoris , delivered in 2018. The interior design was taken care of by the Milan-based company M2 Atelier, composing a truly bespoke décor with the Italian soul embodied in this creation. The new build is a big step forward in terms of complexity and size (she is 497 gross tons, compared to Viatoris 393 GT) . “The boat is a magnificent combination of harmony, elegance, and sophisticated craftsmanship. This is an entirely different world inside and outside. A piece of art and timeless sculpture, I said to myself with a pride when I saw ACE on the water for the very first time, says Mikołaj Król, Conrad’s Charmain and CEO

The 44.5-meter ACE is characterized by a bold and striking silhouette that reflects a powerful and dynamic stance upon the water. Closer to the yacht carefully considered sweeping lines and fine details emerge, proportionally pleasing from all angles. The purely white hull and superstructure contrast with the glossy black of the deckhouses and hull window band, as well as a distinctive element of the straight bow, resulting in the ACE’s imposing presence. “Our signature undercut “rolling wave” on the superstructure reflects the sky above and the water below, simultaneously casting captivating shadows on the decks as the sun moves across the sky” , Reymond Langton Design Studio describes. The exterior decks blend harmoniously with the interior design, bringing a refreshing, unique approach to voluminous spaces.

Less is enough Meeting the highest demands of quality, ACE provides the supreme level of luxury with custom-tailored interior by M2 Atelier. “Less is enough” – that is the philosophy dear to the Italian designers which stands behind ACE’s concept. Thanks to the open dialogue established with clients, it was possible to embrace a more fluid, informal concept for their yacht. The true envision of this approach is visible in the main saloon, where openness and transparency meets to create a large, inviting space.

Almost all the furnishings are designed to give the impression of being suspended above the ground, accentuating the sense of free-flowing continuity and the idea of the “floating home”. Floor-to-ceiling windows add natural light and an airy elegance to the saloon, offering a majestic view of the ocean landscape.

The bridge deck saloon provides a very informal, asymmetrical lounge area ensconced with a comfortable L-shaped sofa that stretches out under a row of panoramic windows, while a bookcase conceals a large-screen TV behind a panel.

The superyacht can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests in the beautifully appointed 5 staterooms, 9 crew members in 4 double cabins and a captain’s quarter on the bridge.

ACE’s master cabin is the quintessential idea for expanding the overall perception of space. “ The spaces allowed us to experiment and push the boundaries. Every corner of the boat was designed to create spaces that were like those found in much larger vessels” , Marco Bonelli and Marijana Radovic from M2 explain.

The detailed nature of her interior is created by spacious windows, a sofa, king-size bed, and bedside tables arranged and suspended in a perfectly light balance. Sections of mirrored glass built into the ceiling enlarge the space.

The full-beam master bathroom is entirely covered in white Lasa marble, equipped with two monolithic sinks and a spacious central walk-in shower.

The lower deck houses four guest staterooms with ensuite bathrooms, all continuing the yacht’s light and soothing color scheme, but with some small, yet tasteful variations on the theme. “Shape is the result of an optimized relationship between space and structure” M2 Atelier says.

The designers opted to use only a few, carefully selected materials, with light wood (oak inside, teak outside), marble, gray leather, light colored fabric, and dark metal taking the lead. In this way, the interiors create a sense of luxury and abundance that comes less from an opulent accumulation of different materials and more from how each is treated.

On board the vessel, there is essentially a strong emphasis on continuity and perspective between the interior and exterior decks. ACE offers immense alfresco relaxation areas – all the spaces on board are entirely customized and adapted to match the owner’s navigation plans and lifestyle.

The outdoor deck is a clever combination of multiple multifunctional areas: starting with a stunning aft platform with a beach club, 4 remarkable lounge areas, a deck cinema, 2 bars and 2 dining areas, and ending with an infinity pool on the top deck. The boat’s transverse garage can hold a 7m² tender plus two full-sized jet skis and multiple sea bobs.

Unmatched cruising experience True to Conrad’s philosophy, ACE performance comes from smart engineering and construction. The naval architecture is a masterpiece crafted by Diana Yacht Design, which used its vast experience in creating this unique hull. “Our team of engineers went the extra mile to make the construction easier for the yard’s craftsmen to build and for the crew to maintain after completion. We took special care of the fuel economy with clever construction solutions for weight reduction” . Powered by twin Caterpillar diesel engines, she can reach speeds of up to 13,8 knots and boasts a maximum cruising range of 5100 nm when cruising at 10 knots. This ultramodern superyacht is largely autonomous and provides the utmost cruising experience. ACE is built to Lloyds LY3 and MCA standards. Her propulsion allows for transoceanic range and solid performance in rough seas. The low drag and efficiency provided by the vessel’s hull design enables autonomy of over 51000 nm with 51 300L of fuel capacity. This versatile craft is not only dedicated to exploring new horizons, but also represents another important step for the Polish luxury shipbuilding industry.

ACE is the first in her series, leveraging Conrad’s experience and craftsmanship. Work on the project’s construction took place during the pandemic, which meant plenty of remote cooperation and online meetings between all involved parties. This history-making project reflects tremendous dedication and is the epitome of the custom-build yachting experience.

“We are honored to have been entrusted by the Owner of M/Y ACE with the management of the project from the very beginning” said Nicola Nicolai, Managing Partner and Director of Project Management at Nicolai Yacht Consulting & Project Management, who advised and represented the client before contract and throughout the entire build managing the project and construction on the owner’s behalf.

After delivery to the client, ACE will make her debut on the international charter market with Luxury Charter Group. Radek Gendek from Luxury Charter Group who had introduced the Owner to the shipyard after managing his charter vacations for over a decade says:  „ ACE is yet another example of how the relationship built with a dedicated broker is essential in purchase and construction of your dream superyacht. When making the leap from charter to ownership, there is no better person to guide you through every step of the process from conception to delivery.”

ACE was officially christened and introduced to the wider audience on December 5th, 2022, in Gdansk – Poland.

Millennials Are Buying Yachts

Ten years from now, Millennials will have taken over the superyacht world. At least that’s the forecast by several experts who are seeing ages of yacht buyers trending younger.

That trend is expected to continue, according to research from Italian yacht builder Rossinavi and the University of Monaco, with the average age of superyacht buyers decreasing 10 to 15 years over the next decade. That could make Millennials the primary buyers of superyachts.

The topic of younger buyers is a constant discussion in shipyard boardrooms and among designers looking to modify their designs to this changing market. It was also one of the topics at the recent Yachtmaster event in Key West, hosted by Benetti Yachts . Benetti sponsors Yachtmaster events twice a year (the European edition was in Budapest last month) to brief captains and other professionals on new trends in the superyacht industry.

Benetti Yachtmasters 2024

“We have been doing this event for 24 years now,” Benetti Americas manager Nick Bischoff told Robb Report . “The intent is to continue to build relationships with influencers of our current and prospective owners. In the beginning that meant mostly captains, but it’s expanded to include surveyors and owners’ reps, too.” The ultimate goal, says Bischoff, is for participants not only to network, but “put their heads together to create an ever-improving onboard experience both for owners and crew.”

Many seminars focused on the concept of onboard lifestyle, which most brokers and shipyards see as a primary driver for purchasing a yacht. Benetti’s head of product, Sebastiano Vida, also spoke about how lifestyle influences new designs in the yachts.

But Jason Dunbar, a broker and appraisal surveyor with Vessel Value Survey, recommended tough love to the brokers. His discussion about managing expectations for newbie owners included advice about being “realistic” with owners who are flush with cash, but might be new to the superyacht world. If an owner wants a brand-new 120-footer with a crew of six, but has a budget of $8 million, the broker is the one who needs to break the bad news. “A good broker has to tell people ‘Listen, that’s just not going to happen,’” says Dunbar. “That will save a lot of headaches down the road and will hopefully keep a client in boating for the long term.”

Benetti Yachtmaster Even Oasis Deck

A new buyer is often coming off a one-week charter that was magical: perfect weather, a well-oiled boat, and a crew looking forward to a little R&R after hustling all week for the charter guests. “It’s relatively easy to make things work like that one week at a time,” says Dunbar. “But a new owner who wants to use their boat for 10, 15, or 30 weeks, that’s a totally different thing. You may have to tell them they need to hire two crews and rotate them—which will be news to them.” He said that overworking the crew will “burn through humans.” The crew will be miserable, he says, which will make the boat not live up to the owners’ expectations. “The next thing you know these new owners will be long gone from yachting.”

Fraser Yachts CEO Anders Kurtén sees the new buyers as a boon for design creativity in an old-school industry. “It starts with a piece of paper,” he says. “We sit down and start designing these boats for younger clients and we see similar trends. Basically they all want to live their shore-based lives on a yacht.”

The segmented and often claustrophobic interiors of many current superyacht designs, says Dirand, just doesn’t float with the new generation. “Young owners’ preferences are honed by hospitality and a knowledge of architectural trends,” he says.

Azimut Benetti Group

Because of that, wellness centers have become focal points of design. As moguls like Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg have made clear as of late, having six-pack abs in middle age is the new Lamborghini. These new owners expect their boats to be designed with beach clubs with gyms, saunas, massage areas that allow owners and guests to work out or relax, amidst warm sun rays and luscious sea breezes.

Kurtén also pointed to green tech as key for the new generation of clients. “We’ve hit a point where a 150-foot sailboat can go across the Atlantic without burning a drop of fuel. And motoryachts can function on battery-only mode, at least when they are close to port,” he says. “That’s important to these new clients—they want to be green. A few years ago that was something you said at a cocktail party, but today it’s a reality for a lot of buyers.”

Peter Selivanoff, senior yacht service manager for Fraser, also spoke about how owners are seeking highly specialized crews who can perform multiple functions across the yacht.

Navigating these new realities is an important part for the industry to future-proof itself in the competitive realm of ultra-luxury products. This is a place where youth may not spring eternal but, at least for now, it reigns supreme.

Businessman allegedly threatens to ‘ruin’ dock worker, ‘drops his pants’ in heated dispute over yacht parking.

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

A California philanthropist allegedly threatened to kill a dock worker during a heated argument from his multimillion-dollar yacht, before dropping his pants and making several threatening gestures to the employee.

Ajay Thakore, a local entrepreneur in the San Diego area, attempted to dock his Lamborghini yacht at the private Marriot Marquis Marina to pick up one of his employees but was stopped by worker Joseph Holt on Sunday.

“I told him respectfully that he couldn’t be there, and I honestly was hoping to have a conversation with him about his cool boat,” Holt told CBS8. “But yeah, it completely went the other way.”

Thakore, who goes by his social media name, Ace Rogers, was riding on his rare $4.5 million Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 yacht at the time of the daytime dispute.

Marina worker Joseph Holt flips the bird to yacht owner Ajay Thakore on March 10, 2024 in San Diego.

Holt claimed Thakore became hostile as soon as he was told off.

“It escalated immediately. It was 0 to 100 immediately,” the 21-year-old worker added.

Thakore, the CEO of medical advertising firm Doctor Multimedia, allegedly began to threaten Holt’s life as the luxury speedboat drove away from the docks.

“I will kill you, you know I will kill you, I will kill,” Thakore repeatedly yells, according to the video posted to YouTube.

Besides threatening to take Holt’s life, Thakore claimed to have the power to get the dock worker fired, ripping on the type of job he had.

“I’m a minimum wage worker, he was commenting on that, on my status just because of my job,” Holt said. “He was saying I’m nobody, I’m nothing, I work a silly job.”

Thakore allegedly threatened to kill the 21-year-old dock hand after the two got into a heated argument at the private dock.

“He said that he knows people, he has connections, he can change my life and ruin it,” he added.

During the heated discussion, Thakore allegedly pulled out his wallet and began throwing $100 bills at Holt and into the water, according to the outlet.

Holt said he tried to control himself during the incident and only gave Thakore the middle finger.

“I really didn’t know how to process it. I really was trying to restrain myself from getting fired from my job or stepping out of line. The only thing I did was give him the bird,” he said.

Holt said he tried his best to control himself during the incident and only gave Thakore the middle finger.

The dock hand blasted Thakore for his actions, especially in a public setting where he stripped nude and showed himself off.

“He had dropped his pants and started to make gestures to everybody watching and me. You can’t act that way in public. It’s just not OK. Especially threatening my life, at the very least. There were women and children there. That’s the most important part,” Holt said.

Thakore claims his outburst started because of a misunderstanding and was sorry for the people who saw it.

“The interaction that occurred yesterday was regrettable. What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange,” Thakore’s public relations team said in a statement, obtained by KFMB.

Port of San Diego Harbor Police were called to the Seaforth Boat rental dock for “a possible intoxicated vessel operator” but arrived at the marina 10 minutes after Thakore and his boat had left.

As the boat drove off, Thakore allegedly dropped his pants to the floor and showed himself off.

The employee who attempted to board the extravagant boat defended his boss’s actions, saying Holt was hostile toward Thakore, and the businessman was only defending his team.

“As I went to kindly step onto the Yacht, I was impeded by two members that work for Seaforth Boat Rental,” Thakore’s employee Jason said on a post to the CEO’s Instagram account.

Jason said he was told to “stand back” the first time he went to step on the boat, and claimed he was forearmed during his second attempt to board the yacht.

“They physically got in my way, the situation became fairly tense, there was a lot of screaming back and forth, extremely confrontational, I didn’t fully understand protocol, as I was going to step onto the boat.”

“As all of this happened, my boss flipped and he’s very protective of me, his fiancée, of his employees.” Jason added. “It was a confusing situation that became very tense and very confrontational.”

Thakore claims his outburst started because of a misunderstanding and he was only defending his own employee.

Thakore captioned the post saying “there are two sides to every story and it’s easy to paint a picture with edited video clips from cell phones.”

“My employee Jason was being restricted, restrained, and threatened while trying to board my yacht. As a leader, I defend my own fiercely with everything I have, and I will never apologize for that,” the caption read.

First Look: Video Tour Inside 87m Lürssen Motor Yacht Ace With Andrew Winch

The 87 metre Lürssen superyacht Ace has been revealed in full for the first time in a video captured by her crew.

Sourced exclusively for BOAT International and making its debut at the Virtual BOAT Show , the video takes a virtual tour around the vessel with guidance from Andrew Winch, whose design studio was responsible for her exterior and interior design.

The 87 metre helicopter-capable superyacht  Ace  left the Lürssen shipyard in 2012 an instant celebrity owing to her distinctive exterior featuring large arches, glass balconies and dual-tone paint finish. Winch Design, who came up with her standout exterior, also created the detailed interior that melds epoque pieces and fine craftsmanship with contemporary comforts.

Built for the utmost relaxation, Ace features one of the most comprehensive wellness areas seen in a superyacht with sauna, massage and shower room and a large Roman-style marble bath, complete with columns, all easily accessed from the beach club.

The exterior decks feature a large freshwater pool and another Jacuzzi, all perfectly private. The guest cabins, all on main deck, have easy access to the gym, a hair salon and a movie theatre. Beyond the gleaming engine room, a garage holds large tenders and toys.

Currently listed for sale with Eastwind Yachts , Ace is asking €145,000,000. She is offered for sale alongside her Damen support vessel Garçon .

California yacht owner threatens to kill dock worker in vicious showdown, cali yacht owner threatens to kill dock worker drops pants for rude salute, 95 3/13/2024 8:09 am pt.

A California yacht owner's vicious beef with a dock worker has reached death-threat levels -- and their exchange was caught on camera and included a nude, and very rude, gesture!

Check out the clip ... it all unfolds when San Diego entrepreneur Ajay Thakore swings by the swanky Marriott Marquis Marina in his rare $4.5M Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 yacht to pick up one of his employees -- but things boil over when dock worker Joseph Holt tells him he can't be there.

Thakore, the CEO of medical advertising firm Doctor Multimedia, flips out on Holt big time ... and starts spewing threats like, "I will kill you, you know I will kill you, I will kill."

And it doesn't stop there -- as Thakore's pulling out of the harbor, he drops trou to make a full frontal salute in Holt's direction. Stay classy, San Diego!

Holt's only retaliation was flipping the bird, and he later told CBS8 that was all he could do to keep his cool and avoid escalating the situation.

Holt says parts of the altercation were not captured on camera, and he adds ... Thakore not only threatened to kill him, but also claimed to have connections who could totally mess up his life.

Holt also says Thakore pulled out $100 bills and tossed them at him, even chucking some in the water.

BTW, Thakore's done some backpedaling since the ugly exchange -- he now says, "The interaction that occurred yesterday was regrettable. What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange."

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

FWIW ... One of Thakore’s employees claims the whole thing began because other dock workers blocked him from boarding the yacht.

Oh, and if that fancy Lambo yacht looks familiar -- it's the same one Chuck Liddell recently tumbled off just last month. Now it's famous AND infamous!

The superyacht world is speculating that Mark Zuckerberg just bought this 118-meter boat

  • The 118-meter superyacht Launchpad made her maiden voyage last week.
  • The yacht world is speculating that her owner is Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
  • Here's what we know about the luxury vessel.

Insider Today

In the world of superyachts , privacy is the most valuable asset. It can be next to impossible to discern the details of a superyacht transaction — and that's particularly true if the vessel in question is worth nine figures.

Yet some in the boat blogging world are speculating that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is the new owner of Launchpad, a megayacht currently moored in Fort Lauderdale, Florida after she made her maiden voyage from Gibraltar to St Maarten last week. Launchpad clocks in at 118 meters long, about nine meters shorter than Jeff Bezos' superyacht Koru .

The transaction could not be confirmed, with yacht world insiders declining to share what they know and representatives for Zuckerberg not responding to a request for comment from Business Insider. In the past, reports about Zuckerberg owning superyacht Ulysses have proven false.

Related stories

"It is Feadship's standard policy to never divulge any information about our yachts with reference to ownership, costs, or delivery, etc," Feadship, the ship's builder, wrote to BI. "Whether it is an 18-meter Feadship from the 1960s or a 118-meter Feadship from the 21st century, we do not share private information."

But Zuckerberg's name has been connected to Launchpad for a few months now, beginning in December when reports swirled that he visited Feadship's shipyard in the Netherlands.

Then, earlier in March, yachting bloggers like eSysman SuperYachts and Autoevolution started speculating that he officially snagged the boat, originally built for a sanctioned Russian businessman, at a $300 million price tag. (While that's a seemingly huge amount, it's still less than 0.2% of Zuckerberg's $177 billion net worth.)

Another clue that might point to US ownership is that the yacht bears the flag of the Marshall Islands, a US territory and commonplace for American buyers to register their ships, according to public marine tracking.

If Zuckerberg were to have bought Launchpad, he would join a cohort of superyacht-owning tech billionaires . Along with Bezos, the likes of Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison and Google cofounders Sergey Brin and Larry Page have purchased impressive boats with even more impressive amenities.

SuperYacht Times , an industry publication and intelligence platform, has some of the best images of the yacht. Photos show a swimming pool on her main deck and a large helipad.

While less is known of the interior, a vessel of her size can likely sleep dozens of guests and crew and may have amenities like an expansive gym where Zuckerberg could practice his jiu-jitsu or a spa with a massage area. We suspect there's also space for plenty of toys — which could include his viral hydrofoil foil .

Russia Maps Show 25% of Moscow Without Power Amid Winter Freeze 'Emergency'

R ussian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the nationalization of an ammunition plant in Moscow after a mechanical failure caused tens of thousands of Muscovites to lose heat and water amid freezing temperatures beginning last week.

On January 4, a heating main burst at the Klimovsk Specialized Ammunition Plant in the town of Podolsk, which is around 30 miles south of central Moscow. Since then, tens of thousands of Russians are reported to have no heating in their homes in the Moscow region amid subzero temperatures.

Affected areas include the cities of Khimki, Balashikha, Lobnya, Lyubertsy, Podolsk, Chekhov, Naro-Fominsk, and Podolsk, a map published by a Russian Telegram channel and shared on other social media sites shows.

Other Russian media outlets reported that in Moscow, residents of Balashikha, Elektrostal, Solnechnogorsk, Dmitrov, Domodedovo, Troitsk, Taldom, Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Krasnogorsk, Pushkino, Ramenskoye, Voskresensk, Losino-Petrovsky, and Selyatino are also without power.

That means that in total, more than a quarter of Moscow's cities have been hit with power outages and a lack of heating.

Newsweek has contacted Russia's Foreign Ministry for comment via email.

Many residents have taken to publishing video appeals on social media to complain about their freezing conditions. In one clip, people living in Moscow say that they are left with no choice but to warm their homes with gas stoves, heaters, and "whatever else we can find." Others said they are lighting fires in the streets to keep warm.

Andrei Vorobyov, governor of the Moscow region, announced on Tuesday that Putin ordered the ammunition plant to be nationalized because two of its owners have been "located abroad." He didn't name the individuals.

"We received the right to take control of this boiler house within the framework of an emergency," Vorobiev said, adding that the plant's boiler room was managed "very poorly" and there was "virtually no qualified competent personnel."

Russia's Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case over Klimovsk Specialized Ammunition Plant not meeting safety requirements.

On Tuesday, the committee said that because of the incident, the deputy head of Podolsk's administration, the head of the plant's boiler house, and the general director of the ammunition plant had been detained.

Residents of Selyatino have described the situation as "some kind of struggle for survival," Russian Telegram channel ASTRA reported.

Power outages have also struck St. Petersburg, Rostov, Volgograd, Voronezh, Primorsky Territory, and Yekaterinburg.
