REGINA K Cantieri di Pisa | From EUR€ 64,000 /wk

Stylish 32m/105ft superyacht REGINA K was built by Cantieri di Pisa in 2008 and last refitted in 2018. Constructed with a GRP hull and superstructure, her naval architecture was also completed by the shipyard while renowned Italian stylist Francesco Paszkowski created her stunning light interiors, accommodating up to ten charter guests in five cabins. She has a crew of five on board.

The lower deck has a deep swim platform that connects through to the beach club, through which guests can access the main deck aft.

A stern sofa provides a casual outdoor space for guests to unwind in the shade, while on the foredeck a row of sunpads creates a comfortable sunbathing area where guests can take in uninterrupted views. The flybridge aft is used for storing the tender, which is launched and retrieved using a Davit crane. Amidships an awning can be set up to protect the lounge and casual C-shaped dining area from intense sunshine. The foredeck is covered in sunpads where guests can nap after a hearty meal.

INTERIOR The interiors from internationally recognised Francesco Paszkowski use a pale colour scheme with light natural wood panelling and floors.

On the lower deck, a beach club is placed within the stern and the transom door opens up to increase guest space beside the water. Forward of the engine room is the spacious Master suite complete with a lounge section, walk-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with tub, plus one double cabin and two twin cabins.

The main deck places a large double cabin forward that benefits from en-suite facilities and a desk for private study. To the aft, the formal dining area and salon combine to form one large interior, and the former seats eight guests in brightly lit surroundings. After a meal, the group can gather on the L-shaped salon sofas for drinks and conversation while taking in the views through the main deck aft sliding doors.

REGINA K Specifications

Two 16V 2000 M93 MTU engines, each producing 2,400 HP provide an excellent cruising speed of 20 knots, a top speed of 25 knots and a range of 400 nautical miles.

Yacht Charter Accommodation

Accommodation comprises on full-beam master suite with king-sized bed, two double cabins, one twin with one Pullman berth and one twin cabin, all on located on the lower deck. There is also an office on the main deck and all cabins have private ensuite bathroom facilities.

Refined and supremely comfortable, REGINA K is a 105ft (32m) luxury charter yacht, ideal for up to 10 guests and available for charter in the Greek Islands. This sleek, Italian-built superyacht enjoyed a refit in 2018 and boasts all the amenities discerning guests could wish for, including large deck spaces for guests to spread out and relax.

With lounges, bar and dining table, the sundeck is the perfect place for guests to enjoy meals alfresco, and a retractable sunshade ensures protection during the heat of the day.

The foredeck has seating and sunpads for guests to enjoy reclining under the Mediterranean sunshine, and the aft deck offers yet another space for dining and entertaining in style, with waterviews all around.

Designed by renowned interior designer, Francesco Paszkowski, the layout of REGINA K has been optimised to ensure laid-back and luxurious living. Based on a neutral palette of beige and brown, with original artworks and metallic furnishings, the saloon décor conveys the ambience of a 5-star beach house.

There are two large L-shaped lounges and coffee tables, and windows let in light and panoramic views. The separate dining area seats 10 guests comfortably. As well as TV/DVD, the saloon boasts a home cinema system for guests’ entertainment and Apple AirPlay is available throughout the vessel. 

ACCOMMODATION

Luxury charter yacht REGINA K has accommodation for 10 guests in five well-appointed staterooms, comprising a master cabin, two doubles, one twin cabin with pullman berth and another twin cabin with office area. The master suite has a queen bed, lounge, sitting area, walk-in robe, ensuite with bathtub, shower and his n hers basins. All cabins have private ensuites, LED TVs and ample storage space.

The interior styling in the cabins is soothing and cosy, with light timber panelling, subdued LED lighting, top quality bed linen and windows for light and sea breezes.

TENDER & WATERTOYS

REGINA K comes equipped with a 4.3m tender for day trips and towing, one Spark Seadoo two-seater, a Seabob, SUP, inflatable sofa and tube, waterskis and fishing equipment.

The dedicated crew of five, including accomplished onboard Chef to prepare menus tailored to guests’ tastes, are renowned for their local knowledge and skills.

At the helm of the 32m Regina K since 2017, Captain Nikos Michailidis brings with him a degree from the Commercial Shipping Academy of Greece, plus more than 13 years of experience manning luxury superyachts including Glaros and Glafki.

From personally choosing the crew he works with to taking the time to really get to know his guests and their preferences, Captain Nikos oversees every aspect of operations to the minute details, ensuring a cruise around the Greek islands is as seamless and enjoyable as can be.

“Regina K is dream yacht to captain, and the last three years working on board have been great,” he says. “She is comfortable, easy to navigate, and gives me a flexibility that is greatly appreciated by all our guests on board.”

There aren’t many captains who can say that a charter on board their yacht both created and saved a marriage, but Captain Nikos is a rare breed. Passionate, hospitable and extremely knowledgeable, so it’s safe to say he knows his stuff.

Please tell us a little about your background and how you got into yachting?

I graduated from the Commercial Shipping Academy of Greece and upon graduation I started my career in the Private Yachting Industry of Greece, eventually becoming a Captain. I’ve headed up Regina K since 2017, and before that I was captain on the MY Glaros for six years and MY Glafki for seven.

How would you describe the owner’s vision?

He sees Regina K as a welcoming hospitable place for our guests, their family and friends to cruise the Greek islands, as well as a relaxing and enjoyable home for his leisure.

How would you describe the style and personality of Regina K? 

She has a strong and warm personality with a contemporary design. She was built to welcome people on board eager to visit the beauty of Greece’s untouched and vibrant islands in the comfort and luxury of their own charter yacht.

Guests on board will find both fancy and casual ambiances all at the same time – it really depends on their tastes and the type of charter they are looking for.

What’s your personal style as captain? 

I personally choose the crew, and together we form a perfectly operating team that is well trained, hardworking, and has a natural propensity to be hospitable and of service to our guests.

What’s the best thing about working on Regina K?

She is a dream yacht to captain. She was built by Cantieri di Pisa in 2008 and last refitted in 2018, and the last three years working on board have been great. She is comfortable, easy to navigate, and gives me a flexibility that is greatly appreciated by our guests on board.

What are some of the standout features and where do guests tend to gather?

There’s far too many to name, but some of the most notable features include the beautiful bright modern living spaces with an office/media room, and the large exterior dining and sunbathing spaces. The lower deck has a deep swim platform that connects through to the beach club so guests can access the main deck aft, too. Guests tend to gather at the beach club and on the sun deck, mainly.

Which types of client are most attracted to a charter on board

The owners are very selective about who charters their yacht, but the regular clientele is from the USA. This year, though, we’ve had mainly Dutch, Danes and the Swiss.

What experiences can you offer guests?

A large variety of itineraries and comfortable cruising that allows clients to enjoy the actual pleasure of sailing the Greek seas. We allow plenty of time to visit the charming ports of call, beautiful bays with unspoiled blue waters for swimming, and endless space for watersports or fishing.

Please share some examples where you and your crew have gone above and beyond to make the guest experience as special as possible… 

The crew is trained and ready to be with the guests 24 hours a day, listening carefully to what they want and making it happen. They are trained to learn the guests’ eating, drinking, sporting, sightseeing and shopping habits early, and are always prepared to satisfy these preferences in a professional, hospitable and polite way.

A particular case I have in mind was an August charter cruise with an American family when the meltemi winds in the Aegean made reaching the island of Santorini very difficult. It was a dream of the wife though, so I, as the captain, managed to reschedule the itinerary to find a four hour opening in which we could reach the port safely, without endangering the trip.

I spoke to the husband about my new plan, he was happy with it, and we departed much earlier than planned, travelling with increased speed to reach our dream destination. When the guests woke up in the morning, they were delighted to face the beautiful island of Santorini and enjoyed a full day of sight-seeing. That evening I sailed the yacht in a beautiful bay where we prepared a beach BBQ and all had a wonderful time.

Are there any interesting personalities or talents among the crew?

The crew is multilingual and I would definitely say multitalented. They have been with me on many cruises and have developed a unique teamwork mentality and an admirable ‘modus operandi’.

How are the yacht and the crew prepared to accommodate children and teenagers on a charter?

Since the owners are very selective about who charters their yacht, we tend to have a lot of families, and consequently the crew is trained to entertain children and teenagers with a variety of games on board. We can also recommend various nightlife options in different ports of call if teenagers would like to have some more fun in the evenings.

How would you describe the cuisine on board?

A mix of continental, American and Mediterranean. Greek cuisine is always popular, and we have a very special love of Aegean seafood.

Tell us about the toys and tenders – which toys are the most popular with guests? 

We have a one 4.3m tender with a 40hp Honda outboard engine for watersports, one Spark Waverunner Seadoo two-seater, one tube, one SeaBob, one stand-up paddleboard, water skis and fishing equipment. All are very popular!

What are your usual cruising grounds?

We cruise the Saronic Gulf, the Aegean and the Ionian Seas and the Eastern Mediterranean, with a special preference for the Aegean-Cycladic islands. We have a variety of multi day itineraries.

Which destinations and your personal favourites and why?

One of my favorite itineraries is visiting the Aegean-Cyclades islands of Mykonos, Paros, Naxos, Syros, Serifos, Milos, Sifnos and Antiparos.

What have been some of the highlights or your favourite memories as captain of Regina K?

There are so many happy and memorable highlights, I could fill a small book with them. To name a few, we had a charter with an American mid-western family, and on the day they were disembarking, the young boy (about 10 years old) came to me, hugged me, and told me that he has decided when he grows up, he wants to become a captain on a yacht.

On another cruise, we had a Greek-Canadian family. The daughter, a young lady of 22, met a young Greek boy on Paros who was studying at a university in Toronto, spending his summer holidays in Greece. The meeting was the beginning of a friendship, and they met in Toronto later that year, finally fell in love and got married. I received a wedding invitation with a personal note from her, thanking me for making her cruise on our yacht a happy and memorable experience.

The biggest highlight of my career has to be during a charter with a family from California. The couple was having marital problems when the cruise started, and they were talking about divorce. However they had such a great time on board they decided to give the marriage another chance, and three month later they sent me a letter from San Francisco with a photograph - she was pregnant with another baby, and they both looked very, very happy. Every cruise is a highlight for me, and when our guests have a wonderful time and thank me when the cruise is over, I remember why I love my work as a captain on a yacht cruising the Greek islands.

Kamaz FTL hauler registers NatCar brand

MOSCOW. Sept 4 (Interfax) - National Carrier JSC, the full truckload freight trucking company headed by former Globaltruck CEO Ilya Sattarov that Russian truck maker Kamaz founded this summer, applied to register the brand NatCar at the end of August, the registry of federal intellectual property service Rospatent showed.

The NatCar brand is also mentioned in the recruitment ads of National Carrier, which is actively looking for E-class drivers. It is offering working with this year's model Kamaz diesel trucks from the flagship K5 line and new dry goods (curtainsider) and refrigerated trailers.

National Carrier was founded on July 7 in Moscow with charter capital of 1 billion rubles, the Unified State Register of Legal Entities showed. The company registered two branches in early August, in Yekaterinburg and Elektrostal, Moscow Region. The company specializes in truck logistics and associated activities, including digitization processes.

A spokesman for National Carrier told Interfax earlier that the company plans to provide FTL trucking services using its own fleet, "as well as the resources of hired truckers." The company's fleet will initially consist of 400 semi-trailer trucks with a 50/50 ratio of curtainside to refrigerated trailers, and it plans to primarily operate on domestic routes, he said.

The company has preliminary agreements with major customers among marketplaces and retailers in the FMCG and DIY segments, the spokesman said. Strong demand for trucking services is expected toward the end of the year, so there is interest from customers, he said.

Kamaz marketing director Ashot Arutyunyan announced at the International Moscow Automotive Forum at the end of August that the truck maker was the principal investor in National Carrier. He did not comment on the new company's shareholder structure, but said it is a Kamaz startup.
