Captain Franky bietet keinen Bordverkauf an. Er findet das dies Abzocke am Kunden ist und das Qualität und Kosten in keinem guten Verhältnis stehen, da Lohnnebenkosten und das lagern + einhalten der Kühlkette unnötige Kosten verursacht, die an den Konsumenten weitergegeben müssen.

Captain Franky empfiehlt die eigenen Lieblingsgetränke, Zutaten, Zubehör und Snacks selbst mitzubringen und die Bootsparty vorausschauen zu planen und das Spektakel aufwendig zu inszenieren, damit es die „beste Party Deines Lebens“ bleibt und Du Dich immer erinnern wirst.

Je nach Tag, Boot, Tarif und Jahreszeit können Empfehlungen ausgesprochen werden oder das Erlebnis Weinprobe kann online gebucht werden, wie z.B. die Glühweinausfahrt im Winter oder Weinprobe.

Auf Anfrage (nicht an Samstagen) kann an Bord eine Cocktailverkostung oder Weinprobe organisiert werden. Die Preise und Angebote kannst Du im Warenkorb bei Deinem Bestellprozess anfragen. Nach Prüfung der Verfügbarkeit erhälst Du kurzfristig Rückmeldung ob die Dienstleistungen an Deinem Termin stattfinden können. 

Für längerer Partyboot Touren und besondere Anlässe bei denen Budget für Catering zur Verfügung steht, empfiehlt Captain Franky zur Anlieferung von einem Catering-Dienstleister.

Im Hochsommer ist das kühlen von Getränken eine kleine Herausforderung. Dosenprosecco und Dosenbier ist besonders gut geeignet schnell kalt zu werden, das Gewischt des Gebinde ist leichter als bei Glasflaschen und Dosen lassen sich besser in Taschen transportieren als Glasflaschen.

Partybecher und sonstiger Müll bei einer Bootsparty 

Das Partyboot kommt voll getankt, geputzt und als perfektes Partyboot ausgestattet. Verbrauchsmaterialien die Deine Party betreffen wie Einweggeschirr, Einwegbesteck, Servierten sind vom Mieter mitzubringen.

Ein Müllbeutel wird gerne bereitgestellt. Gäste entsorgen ihren privaten Müll in einer der zahlreichen Mülltonnen die am Ufer aufgestellt sind. 

Auf einen Boot sind Kristallgläser verpönt, weil Glasbruch und Glassplitter auf einem Boot Verletzungen and der Fußsohle zur Folge haben können.

Bedenke bitte das ummkippende Kristallgläser durch Umfallen, heftiges Anstoßen, Materialfehler und Vorschäden im Kristallglas, sowie Runterfallen wie es bei einer Bootsparty häufiger vorkommt, splittern und brechen können.  

Flaschen aus Glas sind an Bord eines Partyboot kein Problem, da diese ausreichend bruchfeste Materialstärken haben und selbst beim Sturz auf den Boden keine Glasbruch hinterlassen. 

Die beliebtesten Becher und Kunstoffgläser sind rote Partybecher (einweg). Kunstoffgläser aus Policarbonat (mehrweg), Sektkelche aus Plastik, Prosecco Dosen. 

Becher aus Papier sind aus Gründen der Nachhaltigkeit beliebt, jedoch erfüllen diese nicht den Zweck. Nach wenigen Minuten weichen einige Papierbecher auf und das Getränk muss dann aufgewischt werden, die betroffenen Flächen müssen in der Folge mit Putzmittel behandelt werden und ein neuer Papierbecher muss für die nächsten Minuten verwendet werden.

Bitte beachte das Wartezeit, Einsteigezeit und Verladen bereits als Eventzeit zählen. Leider musste Captain Franky diese Regel einführen, da einige wenige Gruppen trödeln oder auf einzelne Nachzügler warten und somit den Fahrplan durcheinander bringen.

Der Mieter des Partyboot bestimmt auf die Route, Musik und den Ablauf sofern keine Sicherheitsrelevanten Einwände seitens des Kapitäns bestehen. Am schönsten ist die Panormaroute mit Skylineblick.

Auf Wunsch bietet der Kapitän an Bord Sightseeing, Animationsspiele und kleine Challeges an, die situativ in die Partyboot Tour eingebunden werden wie z.B. das die Braut beim JGA als 1. Challenge das Boot steuern muss.

In der Praxis ist das steuern des Boot sehr beliebt, da sobald die Kapitänsmütze rausgeholt wird, jeder Passagier mal ans Steuer des Partyboot will.

Damit das Ganze nicht in Stress für Dich ausartet wenn später das Partyboot wieder angelegt werden muss, ist ein Kapitän an Bord, der jederzeit übernehmen kann und während der gesamten Partyboot-Bootsfahrt an Bord bleibt.

Der Kapitän für das Partyboot gibt während der Bootsfahrt eine Sicherheitseinweisung für alle Passagiere, damit kein Gast zu Schaden kommt. Falls Du oder eine Person aus Deiner Gruppe (z.B. Braut, Bräutigam, Geburtstagskind, etc.) selbst das Steuer übernehmen will gibt es eine Einweisung an Bord. Immerhin gibt es Gefahrenstellen im Main, Regeln auf dem Wasser. Für eine Gruppe von 5-10 Passagieren ist das Partyboot Basic bei einem schwachen Regenschauer ausreichend und starker Sonneneinstrahlung ideal. Winterfahrten werden auf dem Partyboot Basic nicht ausgeführt, da der Wetterschutz bei Partyboot Basic nur für sommerliche Bedingungen geeigent ist.

Partyboot von Starkregen überrascht wie es alle 2-3 Jahre an einem Samstag mal vorkommt und die Bootstouren um einige Stunden verschoben werden. Das Touren abgesagt werden müssen, ist ausgesprochen selten das Captain Franky das Wetterradar immer im Blick hat.

Bitte beachte das Du immer das komplette Partyboot buchst. Es gibt keine Einzeltickets für eine individuelle Person. Ein Ticket gilt immer für das komplette Partyboot. Es spielt dabei keine Rolle ob Du mit 4 oder 9 oder 15 Personen kommst, solange Du ein Boot reserviert hast bei dem die zulässige Zahl der Passagiere entsprechen Deiner Gruppengröße ist.

Celebrate the New Year on the Main - on the water and on the last party cruise of the old year! If you want to really let it rip that evening, this party highlight on New Year's Eve is just the thing for you. Our DJ will heat you up with the best sounds of the past years and the latest hits. Cool drinks à la carte and hot music will get you into a GOOD NEW YEAR with fun and high spirits! Get your tickets quickly!

For these trips we use ships depending on booking situation and availability. This is a boat cruise without food.

Admission: 21:00 Departure: 21:30 Arrival: 01:30 h End of the evening until 02:00 (ship lying down).

• A DJ will play current charts and club sounds during the event.
• Dress code: party chic
• The fare of 48,- € per person does not include drinks, only the ride and the DJ.
• Drinks are available on board à la carte at the bar (self-service), we do not offer table service.
• We offer a mini-snack during the tour (not included in the price!).included!). This consists of pretzels and sausages; there will be nono other food will be served.
• In order to maximise the size of the dance floor, we expect to clear out chairs and tables. There will therefore be no assigned seating.

Kansas City Chiefs sailing into Germany with massive ‘ChampionShip’

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs unveil massive plans to take the feel of GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to Frankfurt Germany next month.

The organization says it plans to recreate elements of Arrowhead and other experiences fans in Kansas City enjoy on the “Championship.” The massive yacht will be floating in Frankfurt’s Main River ahead of the Chiefs-Dolphins game on Sunday, Nov. 5.

The “ChampionShip” is a custom-wrapped Chiefs-themed boat. It is named in honor of the Chief’s three Super Bowl titles.

The Chiefs said the boat will serve as the central hub for Chiefs fans leading up to the game, hosting private VIP events and a Season Ticket Member rally throughout the weekend.

The ChampionShip will be open to the public Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4. It includes the following photo opportunities:

• Fans will be able to hold up a Chiefs jersey for a photo

• Tour a replica locker room designed like those at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Fans can also put on shoulder pads and helmets
• Step up to the podium in front of a branded backdrop, like fans are taking questions from the media
• Fans can get their pictures taken with the club’s Super Bowl LVII Lombardi Trophy, which is making the trip from Kansas City to Frankfurt for the game
• Finally get the experience with a photo opportunity from the boat’s rooftop featuring the Frankfurt skyline

The Chiefs will bring memorabilia to Frankfurt and plan to set up a mini-Chiefs Hall of Honor inside the ChampionShip for fans to learn more about the franchise and the NFL.

The Kansas City Chiefs have revealed a stunning custom-wrapped yacht that will be docked in Frankfurt for the NFL's game in Germany next month, with 'ChampionShip' set to host fans with a watch party and VIP events. 

The boat will float less than 1,000 feet from the Eiserner Steg (Iron Footbridge) on the Main River before the Chiefs-Dolphins game at Deutsche Bank Park on November 5.

All three of the Chiefs' Super Bowl titles will also be on board the vessel, which will be open to the public on Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4, according to Fox 4 Kansas City . 

Tickets will be on sale starting on Tuesday, October 17 at 7 a.m.

Fans can look forward to several events on board Kansas City's yacht, including 'Their Draft Moment', which consists of holding up a Chiefs jersey like they had just made the team's roster after coming through the ranks of college football. 

Another fun activity on the ship is called 'The Catch', which involves having your photo taken as if you're catching a touchdown pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

'Locker Room Ready' will see fans have their own replica lockers like the players have at Arrowhead Stadium.

Baltimore bridge collapse wasn't first major accident for giant container ship Dali

Propulsion failed on the cargo ship that struck the Francis Key Bridge in Baltimore early Tuesday as it was leaving port, causing it to collapse into the frigid Patapsco River. Its crew warned Maryland officials of a possible collision because they had lost control.

“The vessel notified MD Department of Transportation (MDOT) that they had lost control of the vessel” and a collision with the bridge “was possible,” according to an unclassified Department of Homeland Security report. “The vessel struck the bridge causing a complete collapse.”

An official speaking on condition of anonymity confirmed to USA TODAY that the DHS’ Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency is working with federal, state, and local officials “to understand the potential impacts of this morning’s collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.”

Clay Diamond, executive director, American Pilots’ Association, told USA TODAY power issues are not unusual on cargo ships, which are so large they cannot easily course correct.

“It’s likely that virtually every pilot in the country has experienced a power loss of some kind (but) it generally is momentary,” Diamond said. “This was a complete blackout of all the power on the ship, so that’s unusual. Of course this happened at the worst possible location.” 

The ship in Tuesday's crash, Dali, was involved in at least one prior accident when it collided with a shipping pier in Belgium.

That 2016 incident occurred as the Dali was leaving port in Antwerp and struck a loading pier made of stone, causing damage to the ship’s stern, according to VesselFinder.com, a site that tracks ships across the world. An investigation determined a mistake made by the ship’s master and pilot was to blame.

No one was injured in that crash, although the ship required repair and a full inspection before being returned to service. The pier – or berth – was also seriously damaged and had to be closed.

VesselFinder reports that the Dali was chartered by Maersk, the same company chartering it during the Baltimore harbor incident.

The 9-year-old container ship had passed previous inspections during its time at sea, but during one such inspection in June at the Port of San Antonio in Chile, officials discovered a deficiency with its "propulsion and auxiliary machinery (gauges, thermometers, etc)," according to the Tokyo MOU, an intergovernmental maritime authority in the Asia-Pacific region.

The report provided no other information about the deficiency except to note that it was not serious enough to remove the ship from service.

Why did Dali crash into the Baltimore bridge?

Officials said Tuesday they’re investigating the collision, including whether systems on board lost electricity early Tuesday morning, which could be related to mechanical failure, according to a U.S. official who was not authorized to speak publicly.

Accidents at sea, known as marine casualties, are not uncommon, the source told USA TODAY. However, “allisions,” in which a moving object strikes a stationary one with catastrophic results, are far less common. The investigation of the power loss aboard the Dali, a Singapore-flagged vessel, will be a high priority.

In a video posted to social media, lights on the Dali shut off, then turned back on, then shut off again before the ship struck a support pier on the bridge.

Numerous cargo and cruise ships have lost power over the years.

The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea requires all international vessels to have two independent sources of electricity, both of which should be able to maintain the ship's seaworthiness on their own, according to a safety study about power failures on ships , citing the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea.

The Dali's emergency generator was likely responsible for the lights coming back on after the initial blackout, Diamond said.

“There was still some steerage left when they initially lost power,” he said. “We’ve been told the ship never recovered propulsion. The emergency generator is a diesel itself – so if you light off the generator, that’s also going to put off a puff of exhaust.”

Under maritime law, all foreign flagged vessels must be piloted into state ports by a state licensed pilot so the Dali's pilot is licensed by Association of Maryland Pilots .

Diamond described the incident based on information from the Maryland agency that licensed the pilot aboard the ship. His organization represents that group and all other state piloting agencies in the US.

“The pilot was directing navigation of the ship as it happened,” he said. “He asked the captain to get the engines back online. They weren’t able to do that, so the pilot took all the action he could. He tried to steer, to keep the ship in the channel. He also dropped the ship’s anchor to slow the ship and guide the direction.

“Neither one was enough. The ship never did regain its engine power.”

How big is the Dali ship?

The Dali is a 984-foot container vessel built in 2015 by Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea. With a cruising speed of about 22 knots – roughly 25 mph. It has traveled the world carrying goods from port to port.

The ship, constructed of high-strength steel, has one engine and one propeller, according to MarineTraffic.com.

The Dali arrived in Baltimore on Sunday from the Port of Norfolk in Virginia. Before that, it had been in New York and came through the Panama Canal.

It remains at the scene of the collapse as authorities investigate.

Who owns and operates the Dali?

It is owned by the Singapore-based Grace Ocean Pte Ltd but managed by Synergy Marine Group, also based in Singapore. It was carrying Maersk customers’ cargo, according to a statement from the shipping company.

“We are deeply concerned by this incident and are closely monitoring the situation,” Maersk said in the statement. 

Synergy, which describes itself as a leading ship manager with more than 600 vessels under its guidance, issued a statement on its website acknowledging the incident and reporting no injuries among its crew and no pollution in the water. There were two pilots on board and 22 crew members in all, according to Synergy, all of them from India.

USA TODAY reached out to Synergy on Tuesday, but the company did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Officials recovered the bodies of two construction workers who were on Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge when it collapsed early Tuesday morning after a 984-foot-long cargo ship collided into a pillar.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore called the collapse Wednesday " a global crisis ."

"The national economy and the world's economy depends on the Port of Baltimore. The port handles more cars and more farm equipment than any other port in the country," Moore said.

Here's what you should know:

• The victims: The six people who are presumed dead were from Mexico Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, according to Col. Roland L. Butler Jr, the superintendent of Maryland State Police. Two bodies were recovered and have been identified as Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes from Mexico and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera from Guatemala. The two workers were filling potholes on the bridge and were later found trapped in a red pickup truck in about 25 feet of water, Butler said. The FBI is handling notifying the victims' families, Butler said.
• Recovery efforts: Authorities are pausing search efforts for the four other workers who are presumed dead, because additional vehicles are encased in concrete and other debris, making it unsafe for divers, Butler said. Once salvage operations clear the debris, divers will search for more remains, he said.
• The investigation: The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation into the fatal incident, according to the agency's chair Jennifer Homendy. During a Wednesday news conference, Homendy said there were 21 crew members and two pilots on board the Dali cargo ship when it crashed into the bridge. She also said a senior NTSB hazmat investigator identified 56 containers of hazardous material, and that some containers are in the water. The agency received six hours of voyage data from the ship and the investigation could take 12 to 24 months to complete, Homendy said. She emphasized that NTSB will not analyze information collected or provide conclusions while on scene of the collapse.
• Looking forward: Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said rebuilding the bridge will not be "quick or easy" but that it will get done. He said there are four main focus points ahead: reopening the port, dealing with supply chain issues until its reopening, rebuilding the bridge and dealing with traffic issues until the bridge is rebuilt. Biden  pledged the full support  of the federal government in the response and recovery efforts. His administration has already conveyed a sense of urgency to open up federal funding to remove debris and ultimately rebuild the bridge. Maryland has submitted a request to the Biden administration for emergency relief funds "to assist in our work going forward," Moore said Wednesday.

It's almost impossible to place people on the bow of ship due to the unstable structure, fire official says

Baltimore City Fire Chief James Wallace said Wednesday that the cargo ship's bridge structure and containers at the bow remain unstable.

"It's going to be very difficult, if not impossible, and very dangerous, to place people on the bow of that boat right now," Wallace told CNN's Kaitlan Collins.

"Naturally, we're still very cognizant of the fact that there are hazardous materials on board the vessel itself," Wallace said, alluding to the National Transportation Safety Board saying earlier that 56 containers were carrying hazardous materials.

Wallace said his team is relying heavily on aerial recognizance, including drones. "That's the only way we're able to see in," he said.  

He added that the aerial surveillance has "been able to really assure us right now we have no [chemical] reactions on board." 

"It's just utter devastation," NTSB chief says of the bridge collapse site

Jennifer Homendy, chair of the National Transportation Safety Board, called the site of the Key Bridge collapse "devastating."

"It's pretty devastating, certainly, seeing not just what's going on with the cargo containers, but just looking at what was a bridge span — three bridge spans that is pretty much gone. It's just utter devastation," she said at Wednesday evening's news briefing.

She added that she is thinking of families who lost loved ones and those who are waiting to reunite with their lived ones.

NTSB interviewed the Dali's captain and some other crew members today, agency chief says

The National Transportation Safety Board has interviewed the ship's captain, his mate, the chief engineer and one other engineer today, according to Chair Jennifer Homendy.

The two pilots on board the Dali at the time of collision will be interviewed tomorrow, she added.

Cargo ship's voyage data recorder is basic when compared to an airplane's, NTSB chair says

The voyage data recorder on the cargo ship Dali was a "newer model" but is considered basic when compared to that on an airplane, according to National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy.

"But it is very basic compared to say, a flight data recorder, where we would have 1,000 parameters," she said at a news conference on Wednesday.

The NTSB chief investigator Marcel Muise added:

"It's not a ship-wide system recorder, so most of the sensors that are being recorded are from the bridge. So things like GPS, the audio, rudder feedback, rudder commands are recorded on there. But not engineering, the temperature of each cylinder, power distribution sensors."

There were no tug boats with Dali at the time of the collision. That's normal, NTSB chief says

There were no tugs with Dali when the cargo vessel collided with Baltimore's Key Bridge, which is normal protocol, according to National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy.

Remember: At 01:26:39 on Tuesday, Dali's pilot made a general very high frequency (VHF) radio call for tugs in the vicinity to assist, the NTSB investigator Marcel Muise had said.

"The tugs help the vessel leave the dock, leave the port and get into the main ship channel. And then they leave. Once it's on its way, it's a straight shot through the channel. So there are no tugs with the vessel at the time. So they were calling for tugs," she said.

NTSB chair says she saw some containers that were carrying hazardous materials in the water

National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy said she did see some of the 56 containers that were carrying hazardous materials in the water.

When asked how many

When asked how many containers of hazardous materials were in the water, Homendy said:

"I did see some containers in the water, and some breached significantly on the vessel itself," she said. "I don't have an exact number, but it's something that we can provide in an update."

Homendy said that a preliminary report should be out in two to four weeks.

Bridge did not have any redundancy, unlike the preferred method for building bridges today, NTSB chair says

Baltimore's Key Bridge did not have any redundancy, which is included in the preferred method of building bridges in the present day, according to National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy.

"The bridge is a fracture critical," she explained. "What that means is if a member fails that would likely cause a portion of, or the entire bridge, to collapse, there's no redundancy. The preferred method for building bridges today is that there is redundancy built in, whether that's transmitting loads to another member or some sort of structural redundancy. This bridge did not have redundancy," Homendy said.

There are 17,468 fracture critical bridges in the United States out of 615,000 bridges total, she said, citing the Federal Highway Administration.

Who are the people presumed dead in the Baltimore bridge collapse?

The victims are six construction workers who were on the key bridge when it collapsed; it’s unclear whether others were killed.

The six construction workers who were on the Key Bridge in Baltimore when it collapsed are presumed dead, authorities said Tuesday evening, ending a day-long rescue mission in cold and murky waters .

The six victims, all employees of Brawner Builders, a general contractor, were repairing masonry and potholes on the bridge when a 985-foot freighter lost power and crashed into the structure , which rose 185 feet above the Patapsco River at its peak height. Among those presumed deceased are Miguel Luna, who had worked for the construction company for about 15 years, and Maynor Suazo Sandoval, from Honduras, who was about to turn 39, their families said.

Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, 35, from Mexico, and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, 26, from Guatemala, also died in the collapse, authorities said. Divers on Wednesday found their bodies inside a red pickup truck under 25 feet of water.

Gustavo Torres, the executive director of the Latino and immigrant organization Casa, said Luna was a father of three from El Salvador and “a longtime member of our Casa family, adding an even deeper layer of sorrow to this already grievous situation.” Suazo Sandoval was also a Casa member, Torres said. His family described him as a devoted husband and father to a 5-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old son.

Baltimore bridge collapse

The victims were from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, officials said. It remained unclear by Wednesday evening how many vehicles were submerged in the water and if other victims were killed or injured in the disaster. Emergency responders rescued two other workers from the water early Tuesday, one uninjured and the other who authorities said was hospitalized in “very serious condition” and later released. One was an employee with Brawner Builders.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) said he spoke to one of the victims and called his survival “pretty miraculous.”

Col. Roland L. Butler Jr., secretary of the Maryland State Police, said Tuesday evening that it was a “distinct possibility” that motorists were on the bridge at the time of the collapse, and that they would also be presumed dead.

The chief spokesman for the Baltimore Fire Department, Kevin Cartwright, called the water-rescue-and-recovery effort the city’s largest in a decade and warned earlier Tuesday that the number of victims could exceed six.

“This is herculean,” Cartwright said. “We are going to work and work and work until we bring this to a close and bring some peace to the families.”

The collision occurred about 1:28 a.m. Tuesday, minutes after the container ship Dali lost power. Crew members aboard the vessel issued a “mayday” warning , which allowed Maryland Transportation Authority police to begin to stop traffic before the crash. Recordings from the transportation authority police radio published by Broadcastify, an open-source audio-streaming service, indicate that officers discussed the workers on the bridge and planned to notify the foreman. But within about 20 seconds, before an officer could drive across the bridge and deliver the news, the structure plummeted into the water.

Jeffrey Pritzker, the executive vice president of Brawner Builders, said in a brief telephone interview that the bridge collapse was “a totally unforeseen event which no one could have predicted.”

“The company is upset, families are distressed, this is a terrible tragedy,” he said. “I don’t know what more I can say.”

He said company executives had spent “a great deal of time” Tuesday comforting the workers’ families. Pritzker declined to share any more information on their identities but said the men were “good family people.”

Marvin Luna, son of Miguel Luna, said he knew his father was on the Key Bridge overnight but did not know it had collapsed until friends called him and said, “The bridge is … gone.”

Marvin Luna then called his father, but no one answered the phone. On Tuesday evening, he was at home in Glen Burnie, Md., desperate for news about his dad.

“We’re okay right now because we don’t know yet, nothing about my dad,” Marvin Luna said. “But we still wait.”

Around him, relatives wailed.

As the hours passed Tuesday, with the ship still lodged between pieces of the disintegrated bridge, community members and officials alike grew increasingly anxious for news of victims or survivors. Guatemalan and Salvadoran consulates publicized emergency hotlines on Facebook. Politicians, including President Biden and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, pledged support for families still waiting on news.

One Baltimore City Council member, Phylicia Porter, further heightened anxiety by saying on CNN that a body had been recovered, only to later clarify that she was given wrong information and meant to refer to a bag of fertilizer.

Meanwhile, in a Royal Farms convenience store parking lot near Fort Armistead Park, Jesus Campos, an employee at Brawner Builders, paced, waiting for news about his colleagues.

Campos said in Spanish that working on the bridge is harrowing. Construction crews are continually worried about speeding motorists, and the bridge “moves a lot” because of its design and engineering. Last year, six road construction workers were killed when a motorist barreled into them along a busy highway in Baltimore County.

“This catastrophe has already disproportionately impacted our city’s immigrant community, one that often toils in demanding and dangerous jobs to the benefit of all who call Baltimore home,” Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, president and CEO of Global Refuge, a Baltimore-based immigrant services nonprofit, said in a statement.

Campos said his colleagues had been on a meal break, sitting in or near their vehicles, when the Dali slammed into the bridge.

Campos said he was not working Monday night but was roused from bed about 5 a.m. Tuesday by a colleague. The co-worker told him two people had been rescued from the water but that six others were missing.

“I’m very sad right now,” Campos said. “These are my co-workers and friends.”

As the sun set Tuesday, officials and residents gathered to pray inside a church in Turner Station, a neighborhood near the foot of where the Key Bridge once stood.

Throughout the hour-long service, clergy and elected officials tried to stay upbeat, discussing the power of community in times of tragedy. But with hope running dry that anyone else might be rescued from the waters, the Rev. Ako Walker of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Baltimore offered prayers in Spanish, honoring the missing workers.

How it happened: The container ship lost power shortly before hitting the bridge, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) said. Video shows the bridge collapse in under 40 seconds.

Victims: Divers recovered the bodies of two construction workers who died , while finding other vehicles trapped and probably containing the other victims, officials said. They were fathers, husbands and hard workers . The entire crew aboard the container ship Dali survived . First responders shut down most traffic on the four-lane bridge after the crew issued an urgent mayday call. It saved lives, Moore said.
