Newport Bay Club Review

Newport Bay Club is a deluxe hotel at Disneyland Paris, with a nautical theme very reminiscent of Disney’s Yacht & Club Resorts. This review features room photos, thoughts on its quality, and our experience of staying at the hotel.

Recently, the resort underwent a massive, top to bottom refurbishment that lasted multiple years and renovated every single guest room, restaurant, shop, and even the convention center. Prior to that refurbishment, Newport Bay Club was in rough shape. I have photos showing the visibly dilapidated siding as well as the rough-looking lounge.

We’ve visited Newport Bay Club since the overhaul finished, and noticed a night and day difference in the common areas and exterior. The hotel looked brand new, and we were eager to book a room. We’ve been pricing it out for the last couple of years, but costs have always been prohibitive. We finally found a <$200/night rate via hotels.com, and decided to jump on it at that price…

For starters, we consider that price to be excellent (and rare) for Newport Bay Club. While it’s not quite Yacht & Beach Club caliber, it is considered a 4-star hotel. It’s also within walking distance of both Disneyland Paris theme parks, which is a big plus.

Our past couple of trips we’ve stayed in Val d’Europe because on-site Disneyland Paris hotels were too expensive. While that remained true this trip when pricing our stay out through the official Disneyland Paris website, we noticed hotels.com had this, Hotel Cheyenne, and Disneyland Hotel all significantly cheaper. Something to take a look at if you’re planning your trip to France.

We weren’t kidding when we said Newport Bay Club is reminiscent of Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. All three hotels were designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, and styled after classic New England beach cottage architecture. The exterior at Newport Bay Club uses a lighter, warmer color palette, but all have clapboard styling. Squint while looking at Newport Bay Club and you might think you’re at Crescent Lake.

With 1,093 guest rooms, Newport Bay Club is the largest hotel at Disneyland Paris. At the time of its opening it had more rooms than any other hotel not just in France, but in all of Western Europe. We’re not sure where it ranks today, but suffice to say, it’s a big hotel and still one of the largest in France.

Nevertheless, with all of the guest rooms located in a single building and wings from the main lobby, its size feels manageable. You might have a moderately long walk to your room, but not as long as what you could encounter at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne or Hotel Santa Fe.

In terms of basic info, Newport Bay Club is located across Lake Disney from Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Park, across from Hotel New York ( which we review here ) and next to Sequoia Lodge ( which we review here ). At just under 15 minutes, it’s a slightly longer walk to the parks than Hotel New York, but roughly the same distance as Sequoia Lodge.

In terms of amenities, the top draw is always the pools. Newport Bay Club has two main pools: a cool indoor pool with a large boat at one end and an outdoor pool that’s fairly nondescript. Unfortunately, we didn’t pack swimsuits and I wasn’t quite brazen enough to take photos with people swimming in it. I’ll do the creepy blogger thing in the U.S., but France is another story. Suffice to say, I liked the indoor pool; it’s large and well-themed.

Next up is dining. Newport Bay Club has two main restaurants: Cape Cod and Yacht Club. The former is the hotel’s buffet restaurant for guests who purchase the half-board and full-board dining plans. We’ve done this before at other Disneyland Paris hotels, but our stay this time was room-only.

Yacht Club is the resort’s fine dining restaurant, and we had heard multiple positive reports about its new menu since the refurbishment, so we were really looking forward to dining here. Unfortunately, it was closed during our stay. Per the Disneyland Paris website: “as part of our continuing efforts to exceed the expectations of our Guests, this restaurant is closed today.”

I’m not sure how closing a restaurant helps exceed expectations, but whatever. Our stay at Newport Bay Club was during the off-season, and most of the in-park restaurants at Disneyland Paris were also closed. That was more frustrating, but it’s another story for another post.

Finally, there’s Captain’s Quarters, the resort’s lounge. Per Disneyland Paris, it’s a “nautical themed bar for an aperitif served amid the elegant world of regattas and racing yachts.” We’ve done late night meals here before after the parks have closed, and found it to be hit or miss. For food, overpriced and undersized portions. This trip, we stuck to Five Guys and Earl of Sandwich for our late night meals instead–zero regrets there.

Now, let’s take a look at the guest rooms at Disney’s Newport Bay Club…

Our first impressions upon entering our room at Disney’s Newport Bay Club were positive. The decor strongly resembles the inside of a ship’s cabin, the furniture is reminiscent of traveling trunks, and the color scheme has a nautical vibe. In in all, it feels a lot like cabins in which we’ve stayed aboard Disney Cruise Line, except more spacious.

Initially, we are both impressed. This wore off a bit as we started perusing the room saw very noticeable wear and tear. Corners that are dinged up, wallpaper that is peeling off the wall above one of the bed (very much visible in these photos), the handrail partially ripped off the bathtub wall.

With minor wear and tear, we’re usually pretty deferential to hotels. Things can be missed during room inspections and not everything is immediately repaired.

However, both the peeling wallpaper and handrail would be readily apparent to anyone who takes a cursory 30 second tour of the room. Given Disneyland Paris’ past issues with maintenance and upkeep, we’re inclined to believe these are known issues–and probably not unique to our room–that management has made a conscious decision not to repair.

Probably a matter of “user error” but it confounds me that European hotels don’t have full doors on their showers. This is hardly isolated to Disneyland Paris hotels, but how do people bathe without getting water all over the floor?

Perhaps I’m just really bad at showering. (In which case, you might be wondering whether you can really trust the opinion of someone who can’t properly complete such a basic task.)

In terms of positives, the beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, the desk was nice, and we really liked the scent of the H20 shampoo (random… but valuable info!). Setting aside the maintenance issues, the room felt appropriately-themed and distinctly Disney.

Some touches–like the portholes on the wallpaper–might feel a bit cheesy for a luxury hotel that caters to convention guests, but they were fun. Even with all of my complaints, I really liked the room. For my tastes, it had the right balance of theme and luxury.

Our final verdict with Disney’s Newport Bay Club Resort is a tough one. The story here is one that mirrors that of the parks at Disneyland Paris: good design, poor upkeep. We were quite pleased to see the Imagineering decisions made during the top to bottom refurbishment retained the resort’s style, and balanced modern furnishings with theme very well. We were disappointed to see that only 2 years later, upkeep has fallen back into its old ways. Then again, perhaps we just got unlucky with the room. Ultimately, Sequoia Lodge remains my personal favorite among the Disneyland Paris hotels, but we’d stay at Newport Bay Club again if the price is right because we do love the design and location.

Curious about outlets in the room. Where there usb outlets available and plentiful?

Thanks for the great write up, interesting reading. Having just stayed at Sequoia Lodge we were incredibly disappointed, it was very outdated and not very well looked after, but I believe they are renovating some of it now. My biggest issues is with the lack of power outlets and that in this day and age where you are on your phone looking at queue times and booking ride passes (if that’s something you want to do) there are no USB outlets in the rooms! Charging your mobile phone was no easy thing! Having stayed over the years in several of the Disneyland Paris hotels for the price they are a let down in my opinion.

We felt similar about Sequoia Lodge when we stayed there – the accommodations were decent and the themeing is fun, but there was a lot of wear and tear. With some upkeep these resorts could be truly awesome.

Tom, if you ever write a semi-autobiographical novel about a young American’s travels through Europe, please promise me the opening line will be “Perhaps I’m just really bad at showering.”

After checking into our room at the Newport Bay Club in January, a maintenance/housekeeping cast member knocked at our door and asked if there had been anything left behind in the room. There was a bit of a language barrier and we couldn’t quite understand what he was looking for. A few hours later we noticed a large brassiere that did not belong to us. So you never know just what goes unnoticed by the cast members at the Newport Bay Club.

We stayed at Newport Bay Club on our trip to DLP in 2016. We loved it, very fresh, clean, and new! I will say, I love how breakfast was included with our hotel stay. I can only wish WDW would do that too (*sarcastic laugh*).

And we totally agree with eating at Earl of Sandwich and Five Guys at DLP!

You no longer get breakfast included in your hotel stay in Disneyland Paris… It was discontinued in 2017… 🙁

I was told it has restarted. Looking at a package for March 2020 & I was told it was included (the breakfast buffet at your hotel)

I’m curious about your comment about closed restaurants in the off-season at DLP. I was there for my first time on the coldest day of the winter this last March, and there were no outdoor food carts open, and some additional places were closed, too, but I assumed it was because it was (literally) 17 degrees out. But is this a normal occurrence in the DLP off-season?

Yacht Club: Restaurant Review

Disney’s Newport Bay Club features two restaurants – one of which is a buffet Cape Cod, and the other a table service location known as the Yacht Club.

As part of the InsidEars Hotel and Resorts Discovery weekend, DLP Town Square was invited to dine at this restaurant.  

Theme and decor

As you may imagine, and fitting in with the New England nautical theme of the hotel, the Yacht Club takes on a very nautical flavour. Dotted around the restaurant are beautiful models of yachts with naval decor throughout the whole restaurant.  

Inside there are two rooms, the main dining room and a secondary private dining area (primarily reserved for groups). The combination of decor, lighting and sounds make this feel like a high-class and premium dining experience.  

The most beautiful of the tables is the ‘Captain’s Table’. This table seats 7 guests in a circle close to the window with a lake view.  

Additional fun details come in the way of the napkins which are folded to resemble a boat when arriving at the restaurant – it is details like this that are the Disney Difference, and it’s a joy to see that alive here.  

The menu is a primarily nautical affair opting for more seafood dishes, but with plenty of offer for those who are not fond of fish.  

For starter I took the Vegetable Soup which, presumably, is seasonal. The portion was just the right size for me – I’m not much of a starter person – and was nice and light. The only negative here is that it was a touch too salty, but I still enjoyed regardless.  

For Main I took the cod, tartare sauce and fries. The presentation of the dish looked pleasing, and the taste matched it. The cod was nice and flaky with plenty of flavour. For those expecting a traditional English Fish and Chips, this is not it but it does tickle the tastebuds and is beautifully cooked. The portion was plenty big enough for me as I found myself struggling towards the end.  

Desert was the Tarte aux Pommes (or Apple Tart in English). This, for me, was the highlight of the entire meal. It came presented beautifully with these fine apple slices laid delicately upon the thin pastry base, with a scoop of ice cream on top, all finished off with two small slices of fresh apple. For one, the taste was divine and for second, the fresh apple slices provided that wonderful contrast that set this dish apart. I would eat at this restaurant again especially for the Apple Tart!  

Should you eat at the Yacht Club?

All things considered, is the Yacht Club worth a try on your upcoming Disneyland Paris visits? Without a doubt, the decor feels luxurious and fits with the theme of the hotel and the food is generally of a high standard, I did not hear a complaint about it’s quality throughout the meal.  

Obviously, if you’re a day guest, this restaurant is quite a walk – I would still say it is worth a visit though – but for guests of the Disney hotels, there is no doubt that you should take a visit.  

My tip? Try to book at sunset and enjoy the stunning views over Lake Disney – trust me, that is one mighty fine view!

Disney’s Newport Bay Hotel Review

We review Disney’s Newport Bay Club. A four-star official Disney hotel located close to Disneyland Paris, Newport Bay has top-rated food, fab facilities and comfortable bedrooms. We stayed here in late November 2021.

Why We Chose Disney’s Newport Bay

As people who tend to do Disney on a mid-range budget, Newport Bay is usually out of our price range. However, we were lucky enough to shoot our shot when the parks were closed during lockdown and, boy, did that shot pay off. We originally booked Sequoia Lodge, paying a very reasonable £700 for two adults (including park tickets) for five nights.

However, as that hotel still hadn’t re-opened after covid in November 2021, we were upgraded to Newport Bay. Without this, we’d never have been able to justify the cost, especially for five nights, so we were thrilled to be able to stay at this bucket list hotel for such a reasonable price.

How Much Does Disney’s Newport Bay Cost?

As one of the deluxe resorts at Disneyland Paris, Disney’s Newport Bay Club is one of the more expensive hotels on property. The deluxe resorts are generally the closest to the parks, have the nicest decor and the best facilities. Newport Bay is probably at the bottom of the three deluxe hotels at Disneyland Paris, falling slightly behind Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel in terms of both quality and price.

So having said we paid a very reasonable price for our stay, the prices at Newport Bay aren’t usually so kind. Right now a four-night trip for two adults in May 2023 is £2,188 for a package including tickets. That’s pretty expensive but is it worth it? Read on to find out what we think.

How to get to Disney’s Newport Bay

Newport Bay is within the Disneyland Paris Resort, about 30km outside of Paris. Getting there by car is super simple, take exit 14 off the A4 Autoroute. If you fly into Charles De Gaulle Airport you can get a taxi, Uber, Magic Shuttle coach transfer or the train which gets into the nearest train station, Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy. You can also get the Eurostar service from London St Pancras to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy although from summer 2023 there’s no longer a direct service so you’ll have to change in Lille. Once you’re at the station, simply enter Disney Village and follow the signs to walk to the hotel.

How Close is Disney’s Newport Bay to the Theme Parks?

Newport Bay is about a 20-minute walk to the theme parks in Disneyland Paris, depending on where your room is. I say that because Newport Bay is a huge hotel with over 1,000 rooms so if you’re in one of the furthest rooms from reception you can expect to spend 10-minutes just getting out of the hotel. I believe club-level rooms (Compass Club) are closer to the hotel lobby but our room was a real trek that made the walk more like 25-30 minutes from the room to the parks.

To say it’s one of the more expensive hotels on Disney property, it does feel like a long walk after a full day in the parks. The one benefit is that the walk is right through the centre of Disney Village – Disneyland Paris’ entertainment district – so it’s super handy for grabbing food and picking up souvenirs on the way to and from the parks. If you’re looking for something that’s a bit of a shorter walk, Sequoia Lodge, Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel and The Disneyland Hotel are all closer.

Disney’s Newport Bay in Detail

We went to reception as soon as we got to Disneyland Paris, and way before the check-in time of 3pm. This wasn’t a problem at all though, the friendly cast member on reception gave us our MagicPass, pointed us in the direction of bell services and told us they would text us when our room was ready. Bell services was quick and easy, located outside the hotel we simply dropped our bags off and got a ticket to come back and collect them later.

The reception itself is lovely, very decadent and it feels like a premium Disney experience. Everything is really close too with the restaurants, bar, shop and swimming pool all within a minutes walk from the check-in desks.

If you stay at any on-site Disney hotel you’ll receive a MagicPass which acts as your park tickets, room key, proof of hotel stay for early access to the parks and has your dining credits loaded on if you’ve got a meal plan. So once we had that picked up, we could simply head straight to the parks.

My only issue with the check-in process was that by 3pm we’d still not got a text to say our room was ready, and by that point we were ready to head back to freshen up. We went to the hotel anyway, asked at reception and found out our room was ready, we just didn’t get sent a message.

The Rooms at Disney’s Newport Bay

Our room was located on the ground floor, right in the furthest corner of the hotel. Our main issue with the location was that although it was only up one floor to reception, you could only access it via a lift and you couldn’t get out of the hotel without going up to the next floor, and back down some stairs. As we travelled when the pandemic was still mid-swing there was only one party allowed in the lift at any one time and this is a busy hotel so the queues for the lift were long and painful. It was really frustrating that there was no access to the rooms on the ground floor from the hotel entrance, or at least a stairwell we could use from reception.

The hallways are lengthy at Newport Bay so be prepared for a walk, ours was a good five minutes from the lift and we soon learnt to leave around 15 minutes before we actually needed to be outside the hotel.

In terms of the room itself, it was perfectly fine. I loved the beds but found the decor a bit outdated, although that seems quite common of the rooms in Disneyland Paris hotels. Hopefully the refurbs of Hotel New York and the Disneyland Hotel show promise of some of the others getting a similar treatment sometime soon.

The rooms are nautical themed and there’s plenty of cool and quirky nods to the sea with drawers disguised as suitcases and fabrics straight out of New England. The rooms are comfortable and charming, the shower was good and there wasn’t much noise considering it’s such a vast hotel full of families.

Food and drink at Disney’s Newport Bay Club

There’s two table service restaurants and one bar at Newport Bay (along with the Compass Club Lounge available to those staying in concierge). Each offers something different although none are cheap. Reservations go quick at the restaurants too, so make sure you book in advance using the Disneyland Paris app.

The most expensive and fanciest restaurant in Newport Bay, Yacht Club features a Mediterranean inspired, seafood heavy menu with dishes like grilled sea bream, seafood linguine and fish and chips on offer. The decor is naval inspired and it fits the theme of the hotel to a tee. Main courses start at €32 and the three-course set menu is €55 with drinks on top. That said, this is absolutely a premium experience and some of the best food you’ll eat at the resort so in comparison to some of the other restaurants in Disneyland Paris it’s probably worth it.

Yacht Club’s slightly cheaper sibling is Cape Cod, a New England style buffet restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. Again, this is heavy on the seafood and the decor isn’t quite a grand as Yacht Club but it’s a decent option if you’re on a dining plan or want to grab a quick meal after a long, exhausting day at the park. A meal here will set you back €45 including a soft drink and as it’s a buffet, you can eat as much as you want.

Captain’s Quarters Bar

If a quick snack and a decent drink are what you’re after, Captain’s Quarters is the place for you. This is one of my favourite bars in Disneyland Paris because of it’s cosy vibe, tasty cocktail menu and super comfortable seating. It seems a small bar for such a big hotel but we’ve never had to wait too long to get seated here and it’s well worth the wait. I’d highly recommend the Black Pearl cocktail if you’re partial to rum and you can grab a light sandwich or Mickey pastry if you’re feeling a little peckish. Drinks aren’t cheap here (cocktails start at €14) but that’s the case at all the hotels in Disneyland Paris.

The Best and Worst Bits of Disney’s Newport Bay Club

The best bits.

• The theming and decadence of the communal areas is second to none – a simply gorgeous hotel
• Fabulous pool and a well-stocked shop with some of the best merchandise in Disneyland Paris
• Plenty of plug sockets in the room for charging your devices
• Meet and greets with Mickey and Minnie at select times in the lobby (check the times when you arrive)
• All the benefits of staying in an on-site Disney hotel such as Extra Magic Time and free transport to, and parking at, the parks.

The worst bits

• All the hotels in Disneyland Paris could benefit from a quick service restaurant (like the hotels in Walt Disney World) and Newport Bay is especially lacking in cheap and quick food options for such a large hotel. Unless you like seafood or want to splash out, you’re going to need to head to Disney Village for a cheap and cheerful meal.
• I’ve mentioned it before but the walk from your room to reception can be quite the trek if you’re situated in one of the rooms furthest from reception
• The rooms are a bit dated and didn’t feel as luxe as the communal areas of the hotel
• It’ just massive, so it’s very busy and there’s long waits for things like reception and the lifts.

Finally, is Disney’s Newport Bay Club Worth it?

Considering the price at the moment, I’d have to say that Newport Bay probably isn’t worth it. It’s a very expensive hotel and I’m not sure the price jump from Sequoia Lodge to Newport Bay is reflected in the quality between the two hotels. If I was wanting to book a moderate upwards resort at Disneyland Paris right now, I’d spend the lower amount on Sequoia Lodge and stay there.

Don’t get me wrong, Disney’s Newport Bay Club is great and if you choose to stay here you’ll have a fantastic time, but for me, I think Sequoia Lodge, Hotel Chyenne and Santa Fe are better options for the money.

Disney Newport Bay Club Disneyland Paris Hotel Review

Among the many hotel options near Disneyland Paris, there are several Disney Hotels that are on property and within a short walk away from the park entrance. One of the closest is Disney Newport Bay Club , a 4 star property that is a 15 minute walk, or 8 minute free shuttle ride, from Disneyland Park. During our first family trip to Disneyland Paris , we stayed at the Disney Newport Bay Club and chose to upgrade to Compass Club level for the additional benefits. Disney Hotels & Resorts at Disneyland Paris

There are seven Disney hotels at Disneyland Paris. The closest hotel to the theme parks is the Disneyland Hotel, the luxury 5-star Disney hotel located at the entrance of Disneyland Park, which re-opened in late January after renovation work. The next two closest Disney hotels to the park entrance are the Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel and Newport Bay Club, both located on Lake Disney and a short walking distance to the restaurants and shops at Disney Village.

What are the benefits of staying at Disney hotel at Disneyland Paris?

Newport Bay Club Disneyland Paris Review

Each of the Disney hotels at Disneyland Paris depict a region of the United States, and as is the case with Disney hotels at all parks, the theming design and details are brilliant and well thought out. Disney’s Newport Bay Club, located on the shores of Lake Disney, is based on the design of grand 1920s New England coastal mansions and features a charming nautical, yacht club theme.

The Newport Bay Club was completely renovated as of Spring 2016 and is a 4-star rated hotel with just under 1100 rooms. The hotel features indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, a sauna and steam bath, a full-service fitness centre and a boutique store.

Each Disney Hotel offers their guests unique opportunities to meet characters, and for the Newport Bay Club, it’s Mickey and Minnie taking turns in their nautical gear. Check with reception for the next character meet and greets located in the hotel lobby.

Free self parking is available at the large car park in front of the hotel. Newport Bay Club has a free shuttle service that takes guests to and from Disneyland Paris about every 15 minutes. This was very helpful during our visit since it was raining most of the time for the first two days.

Hotel Restaurants

There are two restaurants and one bar at the Newport Bay Club: Cape Cod, the Yacht Club and Captain’s Quarters.

Cape Cod is all-you-can-eat restaurant offering breakfast and dinner. The dinner buffet is mostly seafood specialities with a selection of salad and dessert. The buffet costs €45 for adults (drinks not included) and €25 for children, with water, juice or milk included. View the menu

The Yacht Club is a restaurant serving dishes inspired by “New England with Mediterranean influences”, with a variety of grilled dishes – fish or steak, a Surf and Turf dish – beef fillet and lobster tail and several seafood specialities such as New England clam chowder and Yacht Club mussels. Prices for main courses on the à la carte menu range from €32 for seafood linguine to €43 for rib-eye steak with pan-sauteéd vegetables.

Menu plan prices are €55 for adults (or €75 with wine included) for starter, main course and dessert. Kids menu costs €30 for starter, main, dessert and drink, with main course options that include chicken piccata, roast cod fillet and linguine with vegetables and red pesto.  View the menu

Captain’s Quarters is an elegant nautical themed bar at the Newport Bay Club.

We didn’t have a chance to experience the hotel restaurants or bar during our stay. Our only meal at the Newport Bay Club was the breakfast buffet at the Compass Club lounge, which I’ve shared more about towards the end of this review.

Superior Rooms

In the next part of this Newport Bay Club Disneyland Paris review, I will go over the several types of rooms and suites available to choose from when booking a stay at Disney Newport Bay Club . Standard room amenities across all rooms and suites include: luggage service, hair dryer, free WiFi access, air conditioning, telephone, safety deposit box, radio, Disney and international TV channels.

You can request a free baby cot, which are limited to 1 per room and subject to availability. Kettles are also available upon request.

Superior Rooms are the standard room offering and costs vary depending on the following options;

• Standard Room [up to 2 people] with 1 double bed
• Standard Room [up to 4 people] with 2 double beds, with or without lake view
• Standard Room [up to 4 people] with 2 double beds, with a terrace and lake view
• Family Room [up to 5 people] with 2 double beds and one sofa bed, with or without lake view

Compass Club Rooms and Suites

Compass Club Rooms and Suites at the Newport Bay Club Disneyland Paris include all the Superior Room amenities and in addition bath robes and slippers are also available upon request. Guests staying in Compass Club rooms and suites receive additional Club level benefits, which I will go into more detail in the next section. Compass Club rooms and suites are on the top floors of the central part of the building, and there are several options for more spacious accommodations;

• Family Room [up to 6 people] with 2 double beds and 2 sofa beds
• Executive Suite [up to 4 people] with 1 large living room with sofa bed and 1 large double bed, located garden side with additional services
• Resort Suite [up to 4 people] with 1 living room with sofa bed and an alcove bedroom with 1 large double bed, lake view with additional services
• Compass Club Suite [up to 4 people] with 1 large double bed and 1 sofa bed, spacious bathroom, located in the tower with additional services
• Vice-Presidential Suite [up to 4 people] with 1 large double bed and 1 sofa bed, 69m2 suite with open space living room with dining area, lake view and additional services
• Presidential Suite [up to 6 people]  to with 1 large living room with sofa bed, alcove with one double bed and a separate room with a large double bed, up to 83m2 space with lake view and additional services

We stayed in a Compass Club room with two double beds that overlooked the lawn in front of the hotel. It was a comfortable room, just right for our family of four for a long weekend at Disneyland Paris . We spent most of the days and evenings during our stay at the Parks, so to be honest it wasn’t worth it for us to upgrade to a lake view room, but it is something we would consider for a longer stay as the lake views do look amazing!

Compass Club Reception

Four of the Disney hotels at Disneyland Paris offer Club level rooms with breakfast included and additional VIP benefits. The Disney hotels with Club rooms and suites are Disney Hotel New York – the Art of Marvel (Empire State Club), Disney Sequoia Lodge (Golden Forest Room), Disney Newport Bay Club (Compass Club) and the Disneyland Hotel (Castle Club).

Private reception desk and luggage service – Compass Club guests have an easy check-in process at a private reception desk with a seating area for your group. I found this to be helpful since the queue at the main check-in counter was very long when we arrived and there was hardly any wait to check in at the Compass Club desk.

Both check-in and check-out were quick and easy processes during our visit.

Compass Club Lounge

Access to the Club Lounge –  Private breakfast, drinks and afternoon snacks in the Compass Club lounge are included in the rate. An American buffet breakfast (see images below) is open from 7am to 11am. Tea and espresso coffee are available during the day. Compass Club guests can also stop by the lounge to enjoy a variety of sweet and savoury snacks from 4pm to 5.30pm.

The Compass Club Lounge is a great place to relax. In addition to the main dining area, there’s a lounge seating area with a TV.

We enjoyed the buffet breakfast at the Disneyland Paris Newport Bay Club Compass Club. There were a variety of hot and cold dishes available, including crepes and waffles, scrambled eggs and bacon, pastries and continental breakfast items.

Hotel Facilities

Facilities at the Disney Newport Bay Club include indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, a sauna and steam bath and a full-service fitness centre. The Nantucket Pool is the hotel’s indoor and outdoor pool areas, open from 7am to 10pm (subject to seasonal modification).

Newport Bay Club also has a nautical themed shop, the Bay Boutique, offering several lines unique to the hotel.

We wanted to stay at a Disney Hotel for our first visit to Disneyland Paris. Disney Newport Bay Club was an excellent option for its proximity to the park entrance and the additional benefits such as free self parking and Extra Magic Hours that come with staying at an on property Disney Hotel. Disney Newport Bay Club is only a 15 minute walk away from the parks, but there is the convenient option of a free shuttle ride if, like for us, it’s raining for most of your visit.

We also found the upgrade to Compass Club level worth it for the quick and easy check-in procedure and the access to the Compass Club Lounge for breakfast and afternoon snacks.

Disney’s Newport Bay Club

Introduction to disney newport bay club.

Its maritime-themed decoration, inspired by the 1920s New England style, along with its breathtaking views of Lake Disney, transport you into Mickey’s nautical adventures and create a magical atmosphere to enhance your holidays.

Hotel + ticket package for 2 people starting from £296.

Hotel location

Disney Newport Bay Club is a hotel at Disneyland Paris , located directly within the Disneyland Paris complex. It can be accessed by car by following the roads and signage of the theme park. The hotel parking is free.

It is also possible to reach the hotel from Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy train station and take a free shuttle from the park.

Just like the Sequoia Lodge, the Newport is located on the edge of Lake Disney. It only takes 10 to 15 minutes to reach the gates of Disneyland Park.

In red, you can see the pedestrian path to go from the hotel to the park. It is just slightly further than the Sequoia, but enough to bring tranquility and a sense of being somewhat “isolated” from the nighttime activities of Disney Village. This is a great advantage when you want to rest in the evening after a tiring day. Disney Newport Bay Club is at the end of Lake Disney, which is very convenient in the evening for watching the fireworks displayed over the water.

Rooms at Disney Newport Bay Club

From the Superior Room with its comfortable king-size bed to the spacious Presidential Suite, the hotel provides you with all the comfort you need for magical holidays at Disneyland Paris. The hotel has 1080 rooms spread across 5 floors. On the two private top floors, 13 suites complement the accommodation options.

Each room offers the following services:

Superior room

The Superior Rooms at Disney Newport Bay Club hotel provide all the necessary comfort for pleasant holidays and to extend the magic of Disneyland Paris. The hotel’s maritime ambiance is enhanced by the decoration of these rooms.

Each Superior Room offers a bed with either a large King-size double bed or two double beds. The rooms are also available in a Family version (two double beds and an additional sofa bed).

When booking your room, it is also possible, for an additional fee, to choose a room with a view of Lake Disney or with a terrace.

Compass Club Room

Compass Club rooms at Disney Newport Bay Club hotel have the same features as the standard Superior rooms. However, they offer additional benefits of the Compass Club package. These rooms are also located on the upper floors in the tower, allowing you to enjoy all the services included in the premium Compass Club experience.

As an option when making your reservation, you can choose a Compass Club Superior room with a magnificent view of the lake. Rooms for 2, 4, or 5 people are available.

Compass Club Suite

Compass Club Suites offer all the benefits of the Compass Club service, but provide you with the opportunity to enjoy your holidays in a beautiful, bright, and more spacious suite than the Superior Rooms, with an additional sofa. These suites are perfect for staying at Disney Newport Bay Club in the best conditions and ensuring that you receive all the attention that Disneyland Paris has to offer.

Executive Suite and Resort

Located on the private floor of the Compass Club, the Executive Suites and Resort Suites are perfect for unforgettable holidays at Disney Newport Bay Club. These suites offer all the benefits of the Compass Club in an even more extraordinary setting. Enjoy Disney VIP services in a suite with a sofa, a king-size bed with high-quality bedding, and a separate bathroom. The Executive Suite has slightly more space than the Resort Suite and an additional convertible sofa.

The Resort Suite is located facing Lake Disney, while the Executive Suite is garden-facing.

Presidential and Vice Presidential Suite

There are two Presidential Suites at Disney Newport Bay Club. These two suites offer all the benefits of the other suites in the hotel. Located on the upper floor, they also feature a double sofa bed, a double bed, and an adjoining living room for even more space and comfort. Both suites are located facing Lake Disney.

The Vice-Presidential Suite has an area of 69m². The Presidential Suite, in addition to that, features a dining room and a separate master bedroom with a king-size bed. This allows it to accommodate up to 6 people within its 83m² area.

Accessible rooms

Disney Newport Bay Club hotel welcomes guests with disabilities and reduced mobility. If you have specific needs, you can indicate them during your reservation or contact the customer service before your arrival.

The accessible rooms for people with reduced mobility can include the following upon request:

• An accessible shower or bath seat
• A kit for deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors
• Accommodation for guide dogs and assistance dogs

Check-in & Check-out

During your holidays, you can access your room starting from 3:00 PM. If you arrive before this time, you can freely leave your luggage at the baggage service of Disney Newport Bay Club. Then, please proceed to the reception to validate your reservation.

On the day of your departure, you must vacate the room before 11:00 a.m. Before heading to the parks in the morning, you can drop off your luggage at the baggage service and then place your access card directly in the designated box. Enjoy the rest of your holidays!

The Compass Club

The Compass Club is the VIP service of the Newport Bay Club. Here’s what it grants you access to:

• Private reception at the hotel
• Tea and espresso
• Luggage service
• Breakfast with Disney characters
• Access to the private lounge with complimentary beverages (non-alcoholic)
• Sweet treats for afternoon tea.

Disney Newport Bay Club Pools

The Disney Newport Bay Club has two pools: an outdoor pool and an indoor pool. Both pools are heated.

The hotel certainly has the most beautiful pool in Disneyland Paris . This enormous pool is partially covered and partially outdoors. You can walk or swim from one space to the other by going under a bridge. Absolutely marvelous and fun!

The outdoor swimming pool

The outdoor section features a shallow pool for young children, sun loungers, and umbrellas. Swimming is supervised, although children remain under the responsibility of their accompanying adults.

The pool measures approximately 25 meters in length with a depth of 1.35 meters, making it an ideal place for swimming. Surrounded by trees and bathed in light, this heated pool is also perfect for lounging and relaxing.

The indoor swimming pool

To enjoy swimming all year round, the indoor pool of Disney’s Newport Bay Club is a must. With its splendid decoration, a boat located at one of its ends, and the view of Disney Lake, this pool is one of the hotel’s highlights. A small pool and a hot tub are also available.

The boat is not just a decoration; it is accessible to guests. It serves as an excellent observation deck and even features a giant chess set.

With a depth of 1.35 meters, swimming is supervised but always under the responsibility of the accompanying adult for younger guests.

Hotel bars and restaurants

Disney’s Newport Bay Club offers several restaurants and bars for dining and drinking. Whether you prefer table service or buffet, seafood dishes or international cuisine, the restaurants cater to everyone’s cravings. Here’s an overview of the various restaurants and bars in the hotel.

Restaurant – All-You-Can-Eat Buffet

The Cape Cod takes its name from the eponymous place where the famous Mayflower boat landed on the North American side in 1620.

This restaurant offers dishes inspired by French and American cuisine in an elegant setting. Guests can enjoy stunning views of the lake from the restaurant’s outdoor terrace. A wide selection of dishes is available, including delicious fresh seafood from the Mediterranean and around the world. If you’re not a seafood enthusiast, you’ll also find other traditional dishes, including pasta and meat dishes. Children will delight in their favorite foods such as chicken nuggets, pizzas, and pasta, as well as desserts like ice cream and cotton candy.

Restaurant – Table Service

The restaurant is beautifully decorated with woodwork, paintings, and boat lanterns, creating a luxurious and inviting atmosphere. The view of Disneyland Lake adds an extra touch of charm to the restaurant.

The menu of the restaurant offers a selection of dishes inspired by New England and Mediterranean cuisine. Each dish is prepared with the highest quality ingredients.

The Yacht Club restaurant also offers an exceptional wine selection to accompany your meal. Experienced sommeliers will be happy to guide you in choosing a wine that perfectly complements your menu.

Captain's Quarter

This bar-lounge is the perfect place to relax with a cocktail or a glass of wine after a busy day. The decor resembles a library or a seaside ship’s office, with books, maps, and maritime lanterns.

Enjoy both non-alcoholic cocktails like “le p’tit mousse” or alcoholic ones like the famous “Black Pearl” made with white rum. You can also simply enjoy the Captain’s Quarter for a coffee or a snack.

Compass Club Lounge

Bar – Reserved for Compass Club

The Compass Club Lounge is the private lounge for Compass Club room guests. This bar-lounge offers ideal tranquility in the heart of Disney’s Newport Bay Club.

Included with Compass Club reservations, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are served throughout the day. Snacks are also available all day. Breakfast and afternoon tea for Compass Club guests are served in this exclusive space.

Rates for room-only stays at Newport Bay Club Paris

It is possible to book a hotel night at Newport Bay Club without an entrance ticket to the park. This is commonly referred to as a “room-only” These reservations must be made through the Disneyland telephone center and may not be available on all dates. The price of a room-only at Newport Bay Club Disneyland Paris varies depending on the time of year, crowd levels, and date. The lowest starting price I found is ¤231 per night.

Naturally, it is more advantageous to book a hotel package that includes both accommodation and park tickets rather than opting for a room only stay.

Frequently Asked Questions about Disney's Newport Bay Club

The hotel parking is free for all guests. You can leave your car at the hotel and easily reach the parks either by walking or using the complimentary shuttle service.

Starting from £296, the hotel package including 2-day park tickets for 2 people is available. The actual rate may vary depending on the dates of your stay. It is recommended to consult the rates for more specific and up-to-date information.

There are barriers and a security guard present at the entrance of the parking lot at all times. However, you are still responsible for your vehicle and the belongings inside it.
