FULL YACHT CHARTER REVIEW

Inspected by us..

FREEDOM yacht charter was built in 2019 and since then, she has made countless guests fondly remember the time they spent on this wonderful yacht and the unique atmosphere of the Croatian Adriatic sea.

Her first refit came just in time for her to be ready for the 2022 summer season, with numerous amenities added to her already avid collection of yacht facilities, including an onboard spa centre, a yacht cinema, which doubles as a game room for kids and a fully equipped yacht gym.

The dining room located on the upper deck has enough room to accommodate all guests in a well-appointed and air-conditioned interior. The architecture of the superstructure allows for wide and full-sized windows, which will surely elevate the atmosphere during meals in the upper deck salon, regardless of it being day or night.

Because she was built specifically for cruising in the Croatian Adriatic sea, you will have no problems at all relaxing on her decks, enjoying her amenities or sleeping tight in her wonderfully appointed cabins, because of her sturdiness and stability, both at anchor and underway.

She can take on a maximum of 23 guests, accommodating them in 11 cabins, scattered across three decks of this glorious yacht charter.

There will be a total of 11 crew members that will take care of your every wish and desire, as long as you are on holiday on FREEDOM yacht charter. Since the crew-to-guest ratio is 1:2, expect a more detailed and finer service, reflected in the hospitality experience you will definitely enjoy.

Each cabin on FREEDOM yacht charter is modernly furnished and designed following contemporary interior yacht styles. There are twin and double cabins to choose from and every accommodation has an ensuite, as well as an AC unit, a wardrobe with a safe, a desk with a chair and a big LCD TV.

There is also an intercom for the crew’s and the captain’s announcements. All the cabins are also sound-proof, guaranteeing a good night’s sleep to every guest, regardless of the position of their cabin, in relation to other cabins or guests aboard.

The cruising speed of FREEDOM yacht charter is a comfortable 9 knots, with a maximum speed of about 11 knots. This means that the guests will have plenty of time to enjoy the slow and steady changes that will happen with the peripheral panorama.

Passing between lush green islands and entering stretches of nothing but crystal-clear sea, FREEDOM will offer a comfortable cruise to her charter guests.

A DAY ON THE YACHT

Feel the comfortable warmth of the summer sun in Croatia as you board FREEDOM yacht charter and begin your yachting holiday adventure. Considering all the things you can do around and with the help of FREEDOM, you will not be bored a single second – watersports , entertainment, trips to the shore , coast exploration… take your pick!

Your dedicated yacht crew will be there at every step of your journey, making sure you have everything you need for a perfect charter experience. Once you finish with the complimentary champagne, pick a cabin that will be your home for the next several days and start enjoying yourself.

Let your crew take you on a short tour of FREEDOM, so you could familiarize yourself with all the amenities you will have a chance to spend time on during your cruise holiday. Following the itinerary, FREEDOM may cruise towards a particularly beautiful stretch of the Croatian coastline or pick a more secluded island, out of reach of regular tourists.

This will give you an opportunity to get more closely acquainted with all the beauties that Croatian Adriatic nature has to offer. Enjoy the warm embrace of the crystal-clear sea and the incredible diversity of underwater flora and fauna.

Stroll along magnificent beaches, both completely private and incredibly appealing. Swim surrounded only by the lush green vegetation and the shade of turquoise blue tones while listening to the sounds of the waves near you and the crickets in the distance.

Find a tranquil spot to rest under the shade of swaying pine trees, as you soak in all the wonderful things that make up a Croatian summer holiday.

After all these experiences, your soul will be well satisfied, but your body will require nourishment. And that is where the incredibly-talented chefs of FREEDOM yacht charter come into play, because they will prepare mouthwatering lunches and dinners for you to enjoy.

The ingredients will be locally acquired, the seafood freshly caught and the meat sourced from Croatian farms. Add to that the incredible diversity and quality of native Croatian wines, and you got a receipt for complete gastronomical enjoyment.

Sit down for lunch and enjoy dishes like a grilled shrimp risotto with peas, carrots and chilli salsa, freshly caught Adriatic tuna with quinoa and chill side and a caramelized apple with a white chocolate centre for dessert.

After you have sufficiently filled up on delicious dishes, choose to spend some time lounging on the upper deck. Shielded by the shade of the hardtop, enjoy staring in the distance of the incredible Adriatic panorama, while your diligent charter crew serve hand-made cocktails and other refreshing beverages.

There are still plenty of things to do as you digest the terrific lunch, like soaking in the jacuzzi, taking in all the different sensations that make up the incredible Croatian Adriatic, with its many islands, the shimmering turquoise sea and the lush greenery of the coastline.

This atmosphere will certainly accentuate all the different experiences that FREEDOM yacht charter offers, primarily taking advantage of the jacuzzi. Surrounded by all this heavenly bliss, you will feel transported into a dimension of pure enjoyment.

As you relax in the warm embrace of the hot tub and share this special moment with other close members of your charter party, be sure that a member of your charter crew will always be at your disposal, serving snacks and beverages, to make the jacuzzi experience even more memorable.

As the sun begins to set and becomes dimly visible in the night sky, prepare to savour a luxury treat. A fully functional yacht cinema will be at your disposal, during the entirety of your Croatian charter vacation on FREEDOM yacht charter.

With a rich library of movies, both from Hollywood and from abroad, you will get to pick the perfect title to fit this unique venue.

If you are feeling more exploratory, why not watch a local Croatian movie or a documentary about the Croatian Adriatic sea? There will also be plenty of popular series to choose from, ranging from hot Netflix titles to more widely recognized Hollywood movies.

In the meantime, your expert crew will prepare handmade popcorn and other tasty treats, as well as refreshing beverages to go with your movie-watching night.

Choose to stay active during your yacht vacation in Croatia and take full advantage of the modern yacht gym equipment aboard FREEDOM yacht charter. Work on your fitness by yourself or with members of your charter party, because it is always more fun to work out in a group.

You could also opt for hiring a fully-certified fitness trainer, who will upgrade your training with professional guidance and advice. Share your goals with your coach and fulfil one of your goals regarding physique during your Croatian summer holiday.

Combine training sessions with the onboard spa centre on FREEDOM yacht charter and let wellness and fitness create an atmosphere of well-being and activity on your holiday. After you are done with the gym, pamper your senses with massages, skin treatments, manicures, pedicures or facials.

Finally, take a swim in the refreshing Adriatic sea and let the healing and rejuvenating properties of the healthy and clean salt water work wonders on your overall health and strength, both of body and mind.

After all these activities, you will surely feel depleted of energy and ready for dinner; seeing that lunch was such a huge success, except the dinner on FREEDOM yacht charter to be nothing short of miraculously tasty and mouthwateringly-good.

Delight in dishes like linguini with rice, served with a parmesan, nutmeg and peanut sauce or a surf`n`turf menu featuring grilled lobster tails with butter and truffle-seasoned steak. For dessert, savour a ricotta crème with coconut shavings and dark chocolate buttons.

After enjoying tasty dishes, prepare for the evening`s entertainment, which could range from live Croatian bands playing on the upper deck to a night on the town, if FREEDOM berths in a lively Croatian seaside settlement. It all depends on the arrangements between you, your charter party, your yacht crew and the captain.

There are also no rules about staying on board and just enjoying the visual sensations that the evening sky in Croatia presents. Because the levels of light pollution are so low, you will have no problem distinguishing stars with your naked eye, and if you are lucky, you will get to witness a spectacular sight.

Each year, around August, the Croatian sky becomes illuminated by the passing of the Perseids, a yearly meteor shower, with nearly 80 falling stars visible each hour. Take this opportunity and sky gaze, surrounded by the luxury of FREEDOM yacht charter.

YACHT CHARTER DINING

After you set foot on FREEDOM yacht charter, you will be able to experience first-hand the quality of food being prepared in the galley of this fantastic yacht. The expert team of chefs and sous chefs will constantly work to improve the menu, while serving fresh and locally sourced food.

The type of service on FREEDOM yacht charter is buffet-orientated for breakfast and a family-style service for lunch and dinner. This means that guests can stay close together and enjoy each other`s company while they eat, at the same time letting the crew spend less time delivering food and instead focusing more on the hospitality part of their service

For breakfast, you can expect a wide variety of locally-sourced fruits and vegetables, as well as freshly-made juices. There will also be plenty of sweet and savoury breakfast pastry to choose from, alongside eggs done in several different ways (or made to order).

For lunch, guests can expect dishes similar to fast-fried veal tenderloin with spring greens and a sun-dried tomato salad, poached salmon with brown rice and steam-cooked broccoli or grilled Adriatic sea bass, seasoned with fennel, thyme and sweet peppers. For dessert, a sweet and sour lemon tart with a honey glaze.

Dinner dishes could look like an octopus cooked „under the bell“, with potatoes, peppers and paprika, meatballs over home-made pasta, seasoned with locally made tomato sauce, salt-based and smoked salmon, served over a side of carrot, spinach and cauliflower lasagne, and for dessert – a pistachio cream over hand-made banana ice cream.

Lunch and dinner will consist of several courses and a dessert course while you are onboard FREEDOM yacht charter, with an additional option of tasting dishes in exclusive Croatian restaurants, once FREEDOM makes port.

YACHT MAIN DECK

Since FREEDOM was made to cruise in the Croatian Adriatic, this reflects primarily in her exterior profile and structure. Her stability is achieved by her width, which is possible in the Adriatic, since storms and unfriendly weather starts at the end of autumn.

Her paint job also reflects her Adriatic attitude, with a white coating and several streamlined light blue stripes, personifying her friendly relation to the sea. The first partition on the main deck aft is dedicated to the crew mess and logistics of the yacht itself. Forward from this crew area and guests can enter a huge master cabin.

This central cabin is equipped with a tub, a shower cabin and double sinks, as well as plenty of space in the living quarter, which is modernly designed and contemporary furnished.

Forward still from the central master cabin, there are 5 more cabins – 2 twin cabins and 3 double cabins. This arrangement works great for guests who want more versatility in their choice of sleeping arrangement.

YACHT SUNDECK

The jacuzzi on the sundeck is the epitome of yacht luxury – placed on the aft section of the sundeck, it is surrounded on all sides by pillows and sunbathing cushions, creating an island around the jacuzzi, where guests can chit-chat or sunbathe, while also being able to roll over into the jacuzzi at a moment`s notice.

A cool feature of FREEDOM`s jacuzzi is that it is equipped with LED lights, so that evening jacuzzi sessions become even more coveted during the evenings, when the first light of the stars begins to show itself on the clear Croatian night sky.

Because Croatian has a low level of light pollution, the best place to watch the stars would be in the LED-lighted jacuzzi, where you can feel truly become one with the universe.

On the bow of the sundeck, FREEDOM yacht charter offers what so many other yachts only dream of enabling their guests to experience. An incredibly spacious pool, with an infinity window looking outward and towards the direction of FREEDOM`˙s cruising path.

Since there are two incredible water-based venues on the sundeck alone, guests who are experiencing FREEDOM the first time will be in absolute awe when the long list of her amenities is finally presented.

The forward pool is also equipped with LED lights, to shine bright in the evening and to be a constant reminder of how exclusive and luxurious a stay on FREEDOM yacht charter is.

The sundeck is also equipped with movable sun loungers in front of the pool, so guests have more versatility when it comes to enjoying all the benefits of the warm summer sun and the refreshing turquoise waters of the Croatian Adriatic.

Under the sundeck hardtop, a lounge arrangement provides rest and relaxation in the cover of the shade, for guests wanting to spend their siesta in an area protected from the sun.

Last but not least, the interior yacht gym on the sundeck is the place where guests who want to stay active on their charter holiday spend some of their time. It can put to shame any home gym, with an added bonus of incredible views to go with your workout.

A treadmill, a step machine and a stationary bike are the biggest pieces of equipment available, but you can also do a lot with a punching bag, a yoga ball and a full set of weights. A mirror enables you to follow every muscle movement precisely, while a widescreen LED TV provides entertainment for those last minutes of a workout.

The gym is more than spacious enough to handle several guests at once, or a guest training with a professional fitness or yoga instructor.

YACHT LOWER DECK

Besides housing cabin accommodations, the lower deck on FREEDOM yacht charter is also home to some incredible yacht amenities, like the sauna, the massage room and the yacht cinema.

The sauna follows the same pattern of modern design, with the entire room arranged in a natural way; the interior of the sauna supports two benches, while the wood is bright and light, accentuated by the LED lights integrated into the ceiling. Outside the glass door, a small lay-back sofa offers a chance to literally catch your breath after exiting the sauna.

One of the most favourite ways of snapping out of the sauna`s warm embrace is jumping straight into the cool Croatian Adriatic sea, for instant refreshment, while the healing properties of the salty water do wonders for the cleansing of pores opened by the effects of the sauna.

For the guests who do not wish to seek refreshment in the sea, a shower cabin will provide a similar effect. The nearby dedicated massage room follows the design pattern present in the sauna: beige walls with brown details and furniture, but with a green wall integrated into the background, alongside a double mirror feature.

The inviting and homey atmosphere of the massage room will make you relax even before you lay down on the table. Let your charter crew arrange a professional masseuse, who will massage every ounce of stress from your body, enabling you to harmonize with your soul.

The yacht cinema is something else entirely. This amenity is usually only reserved for mega yachts spanning 80 meters+, but FREEDOM yacht charter manages to incorporate this truly unique space with smart engineering and ingenious naval architecture.

The cinema room brings together an extra-wide LCD TV, which serves as a gaming station for the PlayStation console, while on the other side of the room, double rows of leather-upholstered sofas give incredible comfort when watching your favourite movies.

The movie room can be synced to show any kind of audio-visual content, so you can also look forward to watching your favourite Netflix series as well.

The aesthetic of the cinema room is subtle, with dimmed LED lights illuminating the room just enough so guests can distinguish between a batch of freshly hand-made popcorn and refreshing beverages brought in by your loving charter crew.

YACHT CHARTER ACCOMMODATION: TWIN CABIN

When it comes to accommodations aboard FREEDOM yacht charter, there is a need to talk about colours, first and foremost. White dominates every aspect of the twin cabins, but this is not done in a flimsy way.

Instead, white is subtly combined with an incredible array of white tones, incorporating different tones of grey, creme, snow-white, eggshell white, as well as white marble details, grey wooden wall panels and lots of reflective surfaces.

This makes the cabins stand out, even more, when they are hit by the natural light coming in from the incredibly spacious and wide windows or portholes. The modern atmosphere is achieved by designer furniture and smart usage of straight and curved lines in the construction of the cabin.

The ensuites translate the same luxurious commodities found in the cabins – plenty of space, light and a contemporary atmosphere.

YACHT CHARTER ACCOMMODATION: DOUBLE CABIN

Space in the double cabins is dominated by the wide and comfortable queen-sized berth, with a headspace decorated by white marble details. Two nightstands on either side of the berth have sophisticated night lights, that combine mirrors in their design, alongside more traditional means of illumination.

The atmosphere of the entire cabin is bright and light, thanks to white being the dominant colour – subtle gray details only accentuate the brightness of the white, while daylight coming in through wide windows is spread around the cabin thanks to the prevalence of white.

Besides the visual impression, all the materials used in decoration and design of the double cabins are rare, expensive and luxurious, making the guest`s stay in the cabins as comfortable and inviting as possible.

Other types of furniture include a full-length and angled sofa, where guests can take a short nap or just relax during the day. There are lots of storage space, as well as a desk and a chair, for answering e-mails or doing some unexpected work.

YACHT BEACH CLUB & SWIMMING PLATFORM

The beach club and swimming platform on FREEDOM yacht charter will surprise with its versatility, able to provide numerous hours of fun several feet from the water`s edge. When guests decide to take a relaxing and refreshing swim in the Croatian Adriatic sea, they can jump or slowly enter the water, thanks to steel swimming ladders.

Afterwards, three outdoor freshwater showers will provide the opportunity to rinse the salt off, without having to go all the way to your cabin and back.

Enjoy the visual impressions of the sea, as the turquoise blue meets the golden shimmer of reflected sunlight and take in the atmosphere of your Croatian yacht holiday. Better still, have your charter crew serve champagne and snacks, to elevate the visual experience even further.

There is an option of installing a water slide close to the swimming platform, which will transform this space into one of enjoyment for the youngest passengers. Parents will get to take a break from keeping an eye out for their kids, as the children relentlessly enjoy the slide, under supervision from one of the members of your diligent charter crew.

YACHT WATER TOYS & WATER SPORTS

FREEDOM yacht charter offers much to guests in search of thrill and fun on the water. Let your professional crew instruct you on how to use all the different water toys, starting with the jet ski.

The jet ski is ideal for guests looking for an adrenaline-filled ride, flying over the waves in a swift and secure manner. More experienced riders will certainly want to try jumping over the rough seas, while more relaxed guests will tend to use the jet ski as a means of scouting potential spots of interest on the nearby coastline.

Using the Seabob, guests will feel like dolphins, emerging and submerging beneath the edge of the water and exploring the beauties and secrets of the seafloor. Discover interesting specimens of fish and crab, but also sea cucumbers, corals and sea urchins.

This will all be possible because the Croatian Adriatic sea is one of the cleanest bodies of water in the world, where aquatic life still thrives in healthy and clean conditions. Kayaks will provide guests with several interesting options – they could be used for staying fit on your charter vacation, since paddling across longer distances really puts a strain on your muscles.

On the other hand, a kayak is an excellent tool for finding a private beach and staying there, because disembarkment and stowage of kayaks is so easy, particularly on the hospitable Croatian coastline.

Your charter crew will also be available to arrange donut, wakeboard or water skiing rides, for you and members of your charter party. This option is only available upon request, so make sure you talk to your crew beforehand.

Split took root from a flourishing ancient Roman town, and its rich history and culture can be gleaned from the surviving remnants and ruins that are scattered within the “old” town. One of the major reasons why many sailors and travelers love to spend their yacht charter holiday in the town of Split is the fact that it is truly Adriatic in every sense of the word.

Split - Crown Jewel of Croatia

Split is the oldest and most significant tourist destination within the region. It hosts the famed Diocletian’s Palace, which is regarded as one of strongest link to the rich culture of ancient Roman civilization in all of Croatia.

The city was founded by Diocletian, emperor of ancient Roman Empire and the exclusive enclave was chosen as his place of retirement. This explains the presence in the town of Split of surviving remnants of opulence and wealth of a rich ancient civilization.

Important Attractions and Places to Visit on Your Yacht

For those who are spending their luxury yacht charter holiday in Split for the first time, it is essential that they start their discovery and experience of the beauty and charm of Croatia by visiting the Diocletian’s Palace as well as its 4 imposing gates. This architectural and historical gem of Split is regarded as one of the world’s best-preserved ancient palaces today. This palace is the best reminder of the strong influence of the ancient Roman civilization on the culture of Croatia.

Other notable landmarks and archeological structures that you must see in Split include the cathedral of St. Duje, the Temple of Jupiter, the Peristil Square, the famed Egyptian sphinxes and the renowned promenade of Split. Of course, it is best that you cap your journey to the old Split with a visit to the town’s Archeological Museum.

Depending on the kind of yacht charter holiday that you want to experience in Split, there are diverse options of important sights to see and places to visit. If it is shopping galore that you want to experience in your Croatian jaunt, then your day activity should include the underground shopping center of Podrum and the Enoteka Terra, if you are looking for the best local wines and spirits. Another shopping haven that you should not miss is the Marmontova Street. This stretch of road is lined with an array of fashion boutiques that showcase the best and premium designer apparel.

Of course, your Croatian experience is never complete if you don’t sample the local cuisine. There are numerous restaurants in various sections of the city, but the best ones are those located along the waterfront. You can sample in these restaurants delectable local dishes such as grilled seafood and shellfish, roasted lambs and other local concoctions like salted anchovies mixed in olive oil.

If you are looking for the authentic Croatian yachting experience, then you should set sail to Split to spend your yacht charter holiday there.

Split Yacht Charter Enquiry

Just a brief note to let you know we had a great week aboard the Lady Thuraya. The yacht is in great condition, everything appears as new the furnishings are tasteful and comfortable and all the fixtures worked perfectly well. The navigation equipment also appears state of the art, looks like the renovation was extensive and very complete. But what really made our stay most enjoyable was the crew, always ready and anticipating our every desire, attentive to the smaller details, always a smile on their face and a genuine interest in providing us with an unforgettable experience while giving us all a great sense of safety and security with their professional attitude and ease of maneuvering the sailboat even into the tightest of mooring spots. The food was delightful and light, impecably served, totally appropriate for the heat we experienced; pity that Frans will not make a career of cooking on yachts! Bravo! 10 things to do on a yacht charter during the Dubrovnik Summer Festival

Dalmatia Region

This is one of the most popular regions for yacht charters in Croatia. Located on the southern coast, its made up of 233 miles of coastline, islands, and reefs, and includes the must-see historic towns of Split and Dubrovnik , as well as hundreds of stunning verdant islands and national parks.

Croatia's second-largest city – its "crown jewel',  Split  has a history dating back to the 4th century. It is also home to the beautiful Roman  Diocletian's Palace , a top recommended destination for your tour.

Split also boasts some of Croatia's largest marinas, and is within shooting distance of the celebrated islands of Korčula , Hvar , Vis, and Brač . Visit the world-famous Zlatni Rat beach on Brač's southern side, or sample the vibrant nightlife and clubbing scene on Hvar, which also plays host to several regattas over the summer season. Further south is  Dubrovnik,  a UNESCO World Heritage site of huge architectural prominence.

Istria Region

Located in the north of Croatia, this region has a distinctly Italian feel to it, and has plenty of fantastic places to visit. Pula, the region's capital, is crammed with museums, which isn't surprising given its history that dates back to 3,000BC.

Across the water, lies the Brijuni National Park , a group of 14 small picturesque islands easily accesible from the mainland. Slightly to the north, the beautiful old fishing port of Rovinj is also well-worth a visit, with its steep cobbled streets and charming piazzas.

Travel south to historic Zadar , where you can enjoy a quiet walk along marbled streets and pine-scented beaches. Further south you will find the Kornati archipelago , a group of 100 or so relatively barren islands and reefs which are perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Don't Miss:

  • Game of Thrones tour - through parts of Old Town, Dubrovnik where some of the most memorable scenes were filmed.
  • Dubrovnik Summer Festival  - see dramas, plays, classical music concerts and much more.
  • 360˚ Dubrovnik - Michelin-starred restaurant built into the walls of the old town, with exquisite views over the harbour.
  • Diocletian’s Palace  - UNESCO site within the walls of Split’s historic and thriving town.
  • Franciscan Monastery - Visit Hvar’s 15th-century monastery and museum that overlooks a shady cove, and meander charming gardens that feature a 300-year old cypress tree.
  • Plitvice Lakes National Park - one of the oldest and largest national parks in Croatia.
  • Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) - located on the southern coast of Brač, regularly listed as one of the top beaches in Europe.
  • Blue Grotto, Bisevo - situated in the central Dalmatian archipelago, this waterlogged sea cave has an intriguing glowing blue light that appears at certain times of the day.
  • Pula Arena - one of the world’s six largest Roman amphitheatres, and certainly it’s most well-preserved.
  • Visovac Monastery - situated on a tiny island in the Krka National Park.
  • Mljet National Park tour - takes guests to the area of the first protected ecosystem in the Adriatic.

Avid island-hoppers seeking solitude love a Croatia yacht charter itinerary. Of approximately 1,185 islands just 66 are inhabited, making the unfettered beauty of its isles, inlets and bays ripe for exploration. Among these wonderful islands to explore are the verdant gems of  Hvar , Vis, Korčula , and Brač.

But yacht rentals in Croatia are also ideal for guests seeking impressive designer shopping, exquisite wineries and glittering nightlife in its main cities.

Culminating from Illyrian, Roman, Venetian, Christian, and Austrian empires all competing for Croatia’s ownership, Croatia is home to an astoundingly rich cultural heritage. This makes for a fabulous yacht charter: from the Venetian palaces and designer boutiques of the jet-set haven of Hvar; to the Benedictine beauty of the UNESCO-listed walled city of Dubrovnik; to the Italian infused architecture and cosmopolitan ambiance of Pula and beyond.

As one of the most popular destinations for yacht charters in the East Mediterranean , there should be plenty to choose from when it comes to luxury yachts for charter in Croatia. If you’re unsure about whether you want to book a motor yacht or a sailing yacht for your Croatian getaway, there are a few things you should consider first.

Motor Yacht Charters in Croatia

Whether you are interested in a small or large motor yacht, or somewhere in between, you should find a Croatia luxury charter that will more than meet your expectations. With a luxury motor yacht you can truly relax; soaking up the stunning scenery, or scuba diving reefs and wrecks under clear aqua waters, or taking a tender ashore to explore ancient Roman palaces and monasteries, as well as sampling the local cuisine and wines.

You should note that berth/slip options in Croatia for larger yachts (over 50m) are limited, however, with plenty of safe and tranquil anchorage spots to choose from amongst the numerous islands, islets, and reefs around this Adriatic hotspot you will be spoilt for choice.

Sailing Yacht Charters in Croatia

The Adriatic enjoys an average of 315 cloudless days a year, and with winds in Croatia generally around 10-20 knots, this can make chartering a sailing yacht a great option to explore the picturesque islands and secluded beaches at your leisure. The winds do tend to get stronger in the fall, so bear this in mind when booking your charter.

There should be ample sailing yachts, gulets (traditional wooden yachts), and catamarans for charter in Croatia, but we do recommend booking early to secure your perfect yacht and desired itinerary.

Gulet Charters in Croatia

Gulets are traditional wooden boats originating from Turkey , but are now widely available throughout Croatia and Greece . These types of boats offer a fantastic and cost-effective alternative to a luxury charter yacht, for those wishing to spend a bit less but still enjoy a fabulous yacht charter in the Mediterranean .

With so many options available, there’s something to suit every type of budget in Croatia. The average prices for motor yacht and sailing yacht charters in Croatia are as follows;

  • For motor yacht rentals in Croatia, prices can range from $32,000 to $1,8m per week plus expenses
  • For luxury sailing yacht rentals in Croatia, prices can go from $32,363 to $582,882 weekly plus expenses

Child playing in the sea during a yacht charter in Croatia

The optimal times for yacht charters in Croatia’s sapphire-hued waters span from May till October. During this time, you can benefit from calmer seas, reliably clement weather, and warm swimming temperatures. Croatia’s peak season is July and August, so expect both higher charter fees and packed marinas in these months.

There are a variety of options, although most yachts charters tend to begin in Dubrovnik or Split in the Dalmatia region, both of which have major international transport links. Another popular option is to set off from Italy or Montenegro and then cruise the Adriatic down towards the Kornati a rchipelago or along the Dalmatia region – encompassing 233 miles of coastline stretching from Krk to Lastovo .

Croatia has numerous must-see destinations and you will be hard-pushed to fit them all in. For itineraries along the southern Dalmatian coast, some yachts may spend a day in port in Dubrovnik – ‘the pearl of the Adriatic’ – before setting off for the picturesque surrounding archipelagos, which include the popular island destinations of Hvar , Mljet, Vis, and Brač . You can either finish your yacht charter back in Dubrovnik or continue on to finish up in Split – the cultural and economic center of Dalmatia.

For yacht charters in the north of Croatia, many like to begin in Venice or Bari, located in Italy’s Puglia (or Apulia) region, before crossing the Adriatic to Croatia's Istria region. From here you can explore the popular island of Pula , with its world-class Roman amphitheater, before cruising down towards Zadar and the Kornati National Park .

Alternatively, you can begin in Porto Montenegro – only an hour’s drive from Dubrovnik – although you may have to cover the cost of repositioning as many luxury charter yachts in Croatia are based in Split.

It’s simple enough to begin your superyacht vacation in a neighboring country before heading to Croatia. For more advice please speak to your yacht charter broker .

sample itineraries

We recommend finishing your luxury charter in Split, Croatia's second-largest city and one of the most popular superyacht hotspots on the Adriatic. Renowned for its pristine beaches and crystalline waters, plus with a vibrant mix of things to see and do, you'll be in for a treat.

Glittering blue marina in Croatia

There are hundreds of harbors, marinas, and ports in Croatia, so whether stopping off in Dubrovnik or sailing to the far side of the Lastovo Archipelago National Park there are sure to be facilities or an anchorage to suit your needs.

There are 56 official marinas along the Croatian coast from Umag to Dubrovnik. Some of out top picks include;

  • ACI Marina Dubrovnik – located within a short distance to Dubrovnik’s historic old town. It has 380 slips and can accommodate yachts up to 60m/196ft. For larger yachts, or yachts not requiring a slip, another popular option is to utilize the international cruise ship terminal quay, which is happy to facilitate yacht charter pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • ACI Marina Korčula – ideal for a stop off at one of the many island destinations on your yacht charter, we recommend this sheltered marine, which accommodates yachts up to a maximum LOA of 40m/131ft.
  • Lumbarda Marina – also on Korčula this marina has slips catering to yachts up to a max length of 25m/82ft.
  • ACI Marina Vrboska – located in the celebrated islnad of Hvar, this marina offers berths for yachts up to a max length of 30m/98ft.
  • Cavtat Marina – If you're struggling to find a slip in the summer, we recommend this marina, which is located to the south of Dubrovnik and enjoys good shelter from all winds. It offers 119 slips for yachts up to a max LOA of 60m/197ft.

Some of the best ports in Croatia are also located in the Istria region in northern Croatia. We recommend;

  • D-Marin Dalmacija – located a few kilometers south of the ancient city of Zadar, which is the largest marina in Croatia with 1,200 berths and can accommodate yachts up to 80m LOA.
  • ACI Marina Rovinj – catering for yachts with a LOA of up to 25m/82ft
  • Marina Funtana – max length 20m/65ft.

For larger berths in the Split-Dalmatia region:

  • ACI Marina Split –  located in the heart of Croatia's "jewel" this marina has recently been modernised, offering great shopping, dining, fuelling and repair services to name but a few, alongside 318 protected berths that can accommodate superyachts up to 90m LOA.
  • Marina Kastela – just 7km up the coast from Split – which can accommodate superyachts of up 150m/492ft in length, with a draft of 8m.
  • D-Marin Mandalina – located in the city of Šibenik, situated between two National Parks within a protected lagoon, this marina boasts 429 slips, and has also been specially developed to accommodate yachts of up to 140m/459ft LOA.

Dubrovnik's glittering blue waters and old port

With its rich cultural and architectural history, along with lush national parks and secluded beaches, Croatia is fast becoming one of our most popular destinations. Therefore, we advise you to book your yacht charter well in advance of your trip to secure your perfect yacht on your preferred dates.

If you leave it too late, the selection of yachts at your disposal will be reduced and you may not be able to explore the destinations you have your heart set on. Plus, finding dates when everyone in your charter party is available can be tricky; the longer you leave it, the more challenging it will be.

Your yacht charter broker will also need plenty of time to tailor an itinerary to suit you, and enough time to book ahead for the nights you wish to spend in marinas. We recommend booking up to 3 months in advance to give your broker the optimum time to organise everything down to the last detail.

Croatia Yacht Charter Q&A

Some important things to consider before booking your yacht;

  • Yachts tend to spend more time at anchor in Croatia, so you need to consider that when choosing your perfect yacht. Ideally, find a yacht that is comfortable with ample leisure and entertainment facilities onboard.
  • Avoid heading into Dubrovnik when the big cruise ships are in town, these vessels can hold some 3,000 passengers and the town can become uncomfortably crowded.
  • You should also be aware that certain zones in Croatia's waters forbid fishing or diving, or require special permissions to do so. This is something you can discuss with your yacht broker, or yacht captain when deciding on your itinerary.

There should be a wide selection of yachts to choose from, so there is sure to be something that suits both you and your budget.

Croatian Gulets, traditional wooden yachts with wide beams that offer spacious deck areas and generous accommodation, are a fantastic and cost-effective alternative to a luxury charter yacht. Gulets are available to charter for around €13,500-€15,000 per week, which usually includes food and up to 4 hours cruising per day.

Gulets are also perfect for family charters, or those who simply enjoy spending their time out on deck soaking up the beautiful surroundings of this stunning region.

Why not visit our yacht charter fleet page for a comprehensive look at all yachts available for charter around Croatia.

Alternatively, you can reach out to your preferred yacht broker , who will be sure to help you find your perfect yacht and itinerary around the dates that suit both you and your guests.

The perfect time for yacht charters in Croatia is between May to October, with average temperatures in the mid to high 20s, calm sapphire seas and endless days of glorious sunshine.

You should note that Croatia's peak season is in July and August, so expect both higher charter fees and crowded marinas during these months.

Most charters tend to begin in the beautiful historic towns of Dubrovnik or Split before continuing on to the celebrated islands of Hvar, Mljet, Vis and Brač. Alternatively, you can begin in Montenegro in the south, but you should note there may be additional re-positioning fees to pay as most yachts are based out of Split.

Another option is to begin your yacht charter in Venice, Italy then cross the Adriatic to Croatia's breathtaking northern region before cruising down the coast to Zadar or Split.

Once you have decided on your perfect yacht, your yacht broker will then draw up the necessary contract; a legally binding agreement between you and the owner of the yacht. At this point, based on the type of contract, you will be required to pay 50% of the cost of the yacht up front, with an additional 25-30% of this base rate to cover additional expenses you and your guests are expected to incur whilst on charter.

For more information about the costs of chartering a yacht, please read our helpful guide:  Yacht Charter Costs Explained , which describes the fee structure in more detail.

Split: The First and Last Stop of your Croatian yachting adventure, and a Must-See City in Its Own Right

superyachts in split

City of Split is full of fascinating history that you can’t miss when wandering its streets, while providing you with the opportunity to fully reap the benefits of modern tourism

Split is the largest city on the Croatian Adriatic Coast and a favourite starting point for many sailors, the main reason being its central location. This makes it an excellent base for exploring, especially the Dalmatian islands of Brač , Šolta, Hvar and Vis , but also Korčula, Pelješac and Lastovo to the south or the unique Šibenik -Kornati archipelago to the north.

split west coast luxury yachts

Reaching Split from the sea or leaving its port, and watching the city against the backdrop of Dalmatia’s mountains is a sight to behold. Furthermore, the offer and the numerous programs that you simply can’t find in smaller towns are equally important when sailing, which is why many people who start or end their sailing trips in Split also stay there. Over the summer, the luxury yachts tied up at Split’s West Coast are the kind you’d see in Monaco’s ports, so we tried to find the magic ingredients that draw modern yachters to Split.

It’s clear from the streets in the centre that the city experienced a tourism boom. Charming restaurants, imaginative ice cream shops and posh cafés, together with a couple of modern night clubs make Split an enjoyable destination for many, especially younger guests. On the other hand, an ideal complement to modern tourism is Split’s fascinating history which you can’t miss when wandering its streets.

The city was formed around the ancient palace built for the Roman emperor Diocletian, one of the best-preserved Roman buildings in Europe, which is part of the historic core of Split that was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1979. However, Split is not an open-air museum, but a place bustling with life among the historic layers of its buildings. Even though it’s practically impossible to do it in such a short time, we’ll try to give you some advice for a day in Split, because that’s how long yachters normally stay on land.

We suggest starting from the most important sight, Diocletian’s Palace and the city centre, including the town’s major promenade, the Riva. Even though the Old Town at the Palace and around it might feel like a maze, you can easily find your way if you consult the model of the historical centre at the Riva and a nearby panel showing a reconstructed Diocletian’s Palace. Built as a mix between a luxury villa and a Roman military camp (castrum), split into four by two main streets, Diocletian’s Palace is a rectangular building with four large towers on the corners and gates on each side.

croatia split city marmontova street

The palace underwent many changes over the years by palace residents and later citizens of Split, so the original appearance of the buildings on the inside and the outer walls with towers was largely changed. However, the outline of the imperial palace is still visible. If you go west along the Riva and pass the many shops and stores there, you can enjoy the view of the Palace’s southern façade and the city harbour.

Reaching Split from the sea and watching the city against the backdrop of Dalmatia’s mountains is a sight to behold

You’ll pass squares such as Voćni (Fruit Square) or Narodni (People’s Square) and then reach the best-preserved northern wall of the Palace. Don’t forget to touch the thumb of Grgur Ninski (Gregory of Nin), the grand statue by the great Croatian sculptor Ivan Meštrović, as this is said to bring good luck. You’ll reach the magnificent Golden Gate, the terminal point of the road which in Roman times used to lead north towards Salona, largest Roman town in the eastern Adriatic coast, which only the emperor Diocletian and his family were allowed to use.

Go through it and enter the palace in imperial style and walk its ancient and medieval streets and squares, pass through Split’s narrowest street, called ‘Pusti me proć’ (Let Me Pass), right next to the former temple of Jupiter, and the Vestibule, all the way to the central imperial square, the Peristyle. It’s one of the most important examples of the Late Empire architecture, with a 3500-year-old Egyptian sphinx, and the bell tower of the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, patron saint of Split, next to it.

The church building is the former Mausoleum of Diocletian, making it one of the oldest Christian Cathedrals in the world. If you head south from the Peristyle, you’ll pass through the Cellars of Diocletian’s Palace and reach the Riva again. The cellars were used as the storage area for foodstuffs for the Palace and now they’re a major tourist attraction in Split, where scenes from ‘Game of Thrones’ were filmed.

superyachts in split

If you head east from the Peristyle, you’ll pass the Silver Gate and reach the city market – Pazar and going west, the main Roman street, Decumanus, leads to the Iron Gate in the west and the People’s Square or the Pjaca. The clock there tells the time in a unique way as it has 24 digits. From the Pjaca, head on to the 120-year-old fish market, Peškarija, across the lively Marmont Street to the Prokurative, a lovely square similar to St. Mark’s Square in Venice.

Sit on the Riva, observing the ritual of long coffee drinking, or settle down with a glass of wine in one of the ancient squares and become a part the city’s spirit

If you have time, we suggest taking a walk through the neighbourhoods that have preserved the spirit of Old Split, notably Veli Varoš and Radunica. You can also visit the belvedere on Marjan Hill and enjoy a breath-taking view of the city. End your tour with a walk along Split’s Sports Walk of Fame on the West Coast, featuring the names of all Olympic medal winners from Split, which is especially convenient if your yacht is docked there.

superyachts in split

Of course, there’s also the option of sitting down at one of the cafés and indulging in Split residents’ favourite ritual – sipping coffee, watching the bustle and the wacky tourists pass by.

Diocletian’s Dream

One of the best ways to get to know the history of Split first-hand is the Diocletian’s Dream VR experience, telling the story of Emperor Diocletian through a virtual tour of his palace in its former glory. Don’t miss the Ivan Meštrović Gallery and Crikvine–Kaštilac, home to priceless collections of works by the most famous Croatian sculptor. Chocolate lovers shouldn’t miss Split’s choco brand Nadalina in Diocletian’s Street. Another shop worth mentioning is Nered, a souvenir shop for people with good taste that carries the finest examples of Croatian design. If you opt for a morning stroll, you can buy fresh produce directly from the open-air market, the famous Pazar, which can be made into a delicious lunch on your yacht in no time.

Split first came to prominence in around AD 295 when the Roman Emperor Diocletian ordered a palace built there. Diocletian's Palace remains an important part of the city to this day even after a number of other empires have ruled over the city over the last two Millennia.

The Venetians owned Split over the city for more than 350 years, then the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the French and then of course Tito’s Yugoslavia until the late 1980’s. Diocletian’s Palace remains an important part of the city, untouched in the civil war and the destruction of Yugoslavia in the early 1990’s. As such this historic port is an almost unspoiled Mediterranean port that is worthy of a stay for a day or two, even before heading off on a luxury yacht charter.

Explore Split By Renting A Boat or Yacht

You can sail to Brac Island and Solta Island that lie an easy few hours sailing away from the ACI Marina Split, and can give you a taste of the best the Adriatic has on offer shortly after leaving port and an easy shakedown cruise on the sailing yacht. Another historic port on the Dalmatian Coast is Trogir, again a short day sail from the city along the bay.

On a typical sailing holiday you can mix and match between cities and towns, laid back anchorages and busy marinas as you go, taking in everything from barbecues on deserted beaches to full blast nightlife the feeling takes you.

Thanks to its position in the middle of the Adriatic Coast, Split is a great place to start a yacht charter heading south through the islands and along the Croatian coast towards Dubrovnik. Many a yacht charter up the Adriatic Sea is a one way trip, taking in the islands to the west as you hop from port to anchorage on your journey.

Skippered and fully crewed yacht charters also follow this route, with you just a passenger while taken by sea to some of the best spots known to those running the boat.

The holiday hotspot of Hvar is just a couple of days’ sailing from Split too. You will encounter the best nightlife in the region as well as some fantastic beaches. On an itinerary such as this you would loop back to Split at the end of your trip.

Heading north, Kornati Island is a national park with unique geology and wildlife, and are worth a visit for a day or more.

Around 50% of the marinas in Croatia are run by the state-owned ACI Marina company. These are of a good standard, though you should be aware that on some of the remoter islands shore power and water might be limited. ACI Split is where most sailboat charters leave from, though Trogir Marina is not far from Split Airport – you can include Split as part of your planned itinerary from there.

Where you can sail to or hire a boat to travel in the nearby area

If you have an eight day yacht charter (Saturday to Saturday) then you can head south to Dubrovnik and loop back or north to the Pula peninsula and return.

On a bigger, faster vessel like a motor boat or superyacht you could visit much of the coast of Croatia from north to south – it isn’t a very big country, though there are 2,000 islands to visit!

How To Get To Split

There are regular flights from several British airports to Split.

Travel routes to get there.

From the UK you can fly direct from Bristol, Belfast, Glasgow, London (Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton), Newcastle, and Manchester. It is also possible to fly to Venice and then on to Split from there.

The airport is 23km from the main city and a taxi costs around £30 for the trip. There are shuttle buses into the city centre from the airport too – these can save you money but you will still have to get from the bus station to the ACI Marina Split for the sailboat charter.

Suggested Sailing Routes From Split

Broadly there are two ways you can take a charter out of Split. The first is a one-way trip south to Dubrovnik, taking in the islands and coastline as you go.

The second is a loop route. Heading south over 6-8 days it is possible to head down to Dubrovnik and then island hop north via Vis island, Hvar Town and Stari Grad, either staying on a mooring buoy or going alongside at a town quay as you head back to Split.

Heading north you can take in the Kornati Island national park and head as far north as the original Dalmatian capital of Zadar before looping back south.

Trogir Marina is a little closer to Split Airport than ACI Split so you could include the city as a stop on similar routes north or south.

A typical day’s sail could be up to 35 miles though can be as few as 15. On a sailing monohull this would amount to 3-7 hours sailing daily though on a quick motor yacht you can cover a greater distance and spend more time exploring ashore.

Types Of Boats and Yachts To Hire In Split

Broadly there are four types of boat you can hire in Split – the motor cruiser, monohull sailboat , catamaran and speedboat.

Ranging from a 50 metre-plus fully crewed superyacht to a 15 metre bareboat, motor cruisers are a comfortable and fast way of getting around the coast and islands of Croatia. The larger ones will have all manner of toys from jet skis to racing yachts aboard, and plenty of entertainment space to enjoy sunsets (and sunrises!) in good company.

Monohull sailing boat

The workhorse of the sailboat charter fleet, monohull sailboats do the job in comfort – though not at a ripping pace. Better at getting to windward than a sailing catamaran, you’ll likely find yourself under sail more often on a loop route than on a cat. Don’t expect to get anywhere in a hurry, but that’s part of the fun of sailing! Available for as little as €120 a day at the basic end you can have a great sailing holiday for a group of six adults at a good price – though you can pay a lot more for extra comfort and space.

Sailing catamaran

Much quicker downwind than a monohull, sailing catamarans can be fun and fast – but extremely comfortable and spacious at the same time. Expect en suite heads in every cabin and plenty of entertainment space below. The twin engines will more than make up for the leeway that makes these less handy to windward.

Not for spending the night on, speedboats are still a fun way to explore the Croatian coastline and islands. You can hire one for a day or half-day and blast about the sea, enjoying the sunshine and cool sea breezes with the wind in your hair.

Do you need a licence to hire a Yacht or Boat in Split

If you are on a skippered or crewed yacht charter you do not need a license to charter a boat out of Split. You also don’t require a license for smaller speedboats. However if you are on a bareboat charter you will need a license of sorts. Accepted licenses include:

The International Certificate of Competence (ICC) - European and South African sailors

Qualifying national sailing certificates for the icc.

The sailing holiday season in Split runs from April to October. Marinas charge around 20% extra in July and August and can be very busy – if you can avoid these months then it will be cheaper and quieter.

It can be very hot in the summer months too with the odd day in the high 30s or above. The sea is very warm in August, getting up to 25 degrees C.

Weather can change quickly so do keep your wits about you. As always be aware of the local forecast for the coming 24 hours.

April and may.

Expect occasional rainy days but temperatures between 22-28C and up. Winds will be NW, 10-20kts

June-August

Catamarans will cost from €500 a day in low season up to €5000 a day for a luxury end one in high season.

Yacht Charter Croatia

Whether it is the more than 1,000 islands and secluded bays that beckon to you or the east-meets-west luxury of the Dalmatian Coast that’s calling you, Croatia is one of the most popular yacht charter destinations in the Eastern Mediterranean.

You’ll benefit from the fact that Croatia has become increasingly popular amongst the yacht crowd as many new beach clubs and restaurants have popped up. The beautiful coastline now is a charter lifestyle to rival the French Riviera. Split, Dubrovnik, Hvar, and Brac are just a few of the hot spots worth stepping ashore for on a Croatia luxury yacht rental. Along with its cosmopolitan offerings, the southern coast harbors glorious remnants of the past – Roman, Venetian, and Austrian influences ooze from the architecture and cuisine. The heritage is evident wherever you cruise.

During your Croatia superyacht charter, when you do choose to step ashore from your floating paradise, there are plenty of cobble-stoned streets and ancient promenades to enjoy. If you want to see from your yacht and not be seen, the Dalmatian Coast is for you. It is a place to simply sit back, relax, and just be on the water. Sailing from Dubrovnik north to Split, the southern Dalmatian Coast harbors a hotchpotch of cultures. Discover the Roman ruins and historical sites from Venetian and Ottoman chapters in the history of this region’s past. When the yacht cruises further north, be sure to tender ashore to some of the stunning Kornati archipelago’s chain of islands with unspoiled beaches and shallow bays.

Of course, one of the best dining experiences can be enjoyed aboard your luxury yacht. What landscapes will I see on a Croatia yacht charter?

The landscapes in Croatia are simply breathtaking. Croatia is geographically diverse, offering a range of landscapes, from flat plains to soaring mountains. Expect to enjoy stunning coastlines, beautiful pine forests, and tumbling waterfalls. Some of the most picturesque landscapes can be enjoyed while cruising the coastline or from one of Croatia’s many national parks, such as Kornati National Park, Krka National Park, and Brijuni National Park.

When is the best time to rent a yacht in Croatia?

The best time to visit Croatia is from late June through to September. Expect sun-drenched days and wonderfully warm waters ideal for making the most of your yacht’s water toys, such as  slides , Jet Skis, kayaks, snorkeling and diving equipment, and inflatables.

What must I know about the weather on a Croatia yacht charter?

Croatia’s weather and water temperature are similar to the South of France. The hottest time of the year is usually July and August, when temperatures can soar up to 31C (87,8F), with an average low of around 23C (73.4F). The chance of rainfall is low, making these months the ideal time to visit and especially popular with yachting enthusiasts. The shoulder months, May, June, and September, are also warm, with highs of around 25C (77F) and lows of around 15C (59F). These are ideal months for yacht charterers seeking a quieter time to visit.

Which airports can I fly to embark on a Croatia yacht charter?

Most people will fly by private jet or commercial airline to Croatia and then travel to their yacht charter by a chauffeured private hire car or, for yachts with helipads, by helicopter.

Some of the airports you can fly into include:

  • Zagreb Fankjo Tudman Airport.
  • Dubrovnik Airport.
  • Split Airport.
  • Zadar Airport.
  • Osijek Airport.

Northrop & Johnson’s charter yacht brokers can assist with travel arrangements to and from your Croatia superyacht hire, providing a door-to-deck service that is second to none.

Anything I should be aware of when on a Croatia luxury yacht charter?

Croatia is a safe, secure, and welcoming destination for enjoying a luxury vacation on the water. Visitors heading north of the country will find more evidence of the Croatian War of Independence, 1991 to 1995, than further south. Most yacht charters tend to cruise the southern Dalmatian Coast, which offers some of the country’s most refined and culturally rich destinations.

How much does it cost to charter a yacht in Croatia?

The cost of chartering a boat in Croatia will depend on several factors, including the size of the vessel, its year of build and shipbuilder, onboard amenities, itinerary, and time of year. Expect to pay from US$50,000 per week for smaller yachts and up to 1 million plus for the finest superyachts. In addition to the base charter rate, there is a fee called the advanced provisioning allowance, or APA, which is typically around 10% of the total charter cost. The APA covers expenses that are not fixed, including fuel, mooring fees, and food and beverages. An experienced yacht broker, such as the team of charter specialists at Northrop & Johnson, will be able to estimate the total charter cost.

How much is the VAT for a Croatia luxury yacht charter?

The VAT for a yacht charter in Croatia is 13%. The Value Added Tax  in Croatia is one of the lowest in the Mediterranean at 13%. The team of charter brokers at Northrop & Johnson will advise you on what the total VAT cost is for your luxury yacht charter and manage the payment on your behalf.

Concert promoter Live Nation is getting into the ultra-luxury cruise business — see what it'll be like on weeklong superyacht sailings starting at $3,000 a person

  • Live Nation's Vibee is getting into the ultra-luxury cruise business.
  • The music event curator says it'll charter two superyachts for three weeklong Croatia cruises this summer.
  • Like other vacation operators, Vibee says it's seen increasing demand for cruise and yacht-based trips.

Insider Today

Forget concerts — Live Nation wants music fans to start going on yacht vacations .

In 2023 and amid a boom in experiential travel , the entertainment company established Vibee, a music-based event curation arm. Less than a year later, Vibee has already executed affairs like a weekend Bahamas getaway headlined by singer Lionel Richie and a three-day Cabo San Lucas, Mexico party featuring DJ Tiësto.

Now, it's moving off-land and to the high seas with its new segment: Vibee Yacht Club.

This summer, Vibee says it'll charter two superyachts for three weeklong Croatia itineraries that are set to be, of course, centered on music.

Vibee is capitalizing on yet another increasingly popular concept: themed cruises.

superyachts in split

Themed cruises can vary vastly, from Star Trek-centered sailings to itineraries helmed by famous comedians. And as of late, many of these niche voyages have been selling out faster than ever before.

Themed cruise operator Sixthman's November 2023 hip-hop itinerary sold out in less than five days with no publicly announced lineup.

Similarly, Vibee's first cruise, the 2023 EDSea — a wordplay on the electronic dance music festival Electric Daisy Carnival, or EDC — was fully booked in three days, again with an undisclosed lineup.

Armed with EDSea’s success, Vibee wants to dive deeper into the cruise segment — this time with a luxurious spin.

"We see the desire for cruise and yacht experiences continuing to rise," Harvey Cohen, president of Vibee, told Business Insider, echoing sentiments of the cruise industry's booming demand.

And not just the mass-market players: Over the last year, luxury cruise lines have also seen a rise in interest.

In its fourth-quarter earnings report from February 2024, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings said its two high-end brands, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas, had both seen "strong demand."

The latter had launched its latest $517.9 million luxury ship a few months prior, complete with caviar and a $6 million art collection.

Luxury cruises and superyachts aren’t known to be super-affordable.

Vibee says it's chartering the 141-foot-long Lupus Mare and nearly 161-foot-long Prestige for its three yacht sailings.

Vibee Yacht Club's cheapest option starts at $3,100 per person for a two-person cabin. Comparatively, EDSea's 2024 itinerary starts at $1,405 per person for a double occupancy interior cabin.

Yet, it could be a bargain for some superyacht fans: Weeklong charters for Lupus Mare start at about $71,000 a week, according to YachtCharterFleet.

Everything is better on a yacht. Champagne? Tastes better on a yacht. Cruises in general? Better on a yacht.

Going to an international music festival? Well, Vibee thinks it would be better to stay on a yacht than in a hotel.

On July 13, the first itinerary would start on day two of Ultra Europe, a popular three-day electronic dance music festival in Split, Croatia.

superyachts in split

Following the event, the two yachts would sail to three Croatian islands before concluding in Hvar, Croatia. Along the way, the itinerary would include daytime swims, a sunset winery visit, and several parties (day and night).

Unsurprisingly, Vibee expects the itinerary to draw in younger travelers, specifically Gen Zers and millennials.

Lupus Mare is set to be chartered for two more itineraries: “Rock the Med” and “Marafiki on the Adriatic.”

superyachts in split

A three-person cabin for both starts at $3,500 per person.

On Rock the Med, the week is set to begin with VIP tickets to a Lenny Kravitz show at the historic Pula Arena.

Afterward, it would sail to Croatian destinations with an itinerary that would include beach excursions and clubs.

Marafiki on the Adriatic isn’t centered on a single music event.

superyachts in split

Instead, the roundtrip Split itinerary would feature on-board musical performances, daily yoga, "cultural outings," and, of course, beach clubs.

A bonus trip to Sonus Festival, a five-day rave, is an optional add-on.

Like a typical luxury cruise, travelers would have preorganized water taxis, chefs to prepare daily breakfasts and lunches, and all the yacht amenities.

superyachts in split

The 20-cabin, 40-guest Prestige flexes indulgences like an indoor lounge, a hot tub, and a sundeck with plenty of beds.

Meanwhile, the 15-cabin, 34-guest Lupus Mare has comforts like a sauna and gym.

superyachts in split

Travelers could wind down in the yacht's movie theater or hot tub. Or, they could take a slide into the water.

It’s no surprise Vibee is going the more sumptuous route with its itinerary-focused yacht concept.

superyachts in split

" Revenge travel " might as well be known as "regular travel" at this point: People have continued to spend big on extravagant vacations, especially on luxury small cruise ships and trips planned around experiences and adventures.

Both are niches Vibee is trying to carve out for itself: Looking ahead, the new brand is already planning more music and sea-based vacations, Cohen told Business Insider.

Palm Beach preview: more superyachts point to recovering supply levels in 2024

The Palm Beach International Boat Show (PBIBS) is right around the corner and according to exclusive data from BOATPro , this year is shaping up to be one of the biggest showcases yet. More than 120 superyachts have confirmed their attendance at Palm Harbor Marina this week (21 to 24 March), with several last-minute entries expected in the lead-up to the show. In either case, visitors can expect a more extensive lineup than in 2023, when the industry was hit with supply shortages in the face of heightened demand.

10 of the biggest yachts at this year's Palm Beach International Boat Show

superyachts in split

The Palm Beach International Boat Show returns to West Palm Beach's waterfront from March 21-24 — bringing with it some of the largest, most luxurious yachts in the world.

The Super Yacht Show Palm Beach features a range of boats that are longer than 100 feet, including 18 that are longer than 151 feet.

Here's a look at 10 of the biggest boats that visitors to the show can experience up close.

Come Together

This 197-foot behemoth with a price tag that starts at $59.95 million makes it the most expensive boat for sale at the 2024 Palm Beach International Boat Show.

Come Together provides plenty of space and amenities to do as its name suggests and bring more than a dozen people together for an adventure at sea, according to its listing on the show's website.

It was built in 2022 by Amels and features a hybrid propulsion system. The interiors were done by Winch Design of London, with materials including Jerusalem limestone, light matte oak and walnut, and bronze. The ship's six cabins can house up to 14 guests, the listing said.

A 27-meter sun deck features a Jacuzzi with a sunbathing area, gym equipment, sheltered bar and wind-protected dining table.

You can find Come Together in the water at Ramps C and D.

Hospitality

Want to buy the 164-foot Hospitality? The price starts at $29.75 million, according to the yacht's listing on the boat show's website.

The Westport-built vessel was first constructed in 2011 and refit in 2021. It has seven cabins that can accommodate 16 guests. That includes a primary suite and a VIP suite. It also features a sun deck with a hot tub and sunbathing area.

The ship has traveled "to some of the world's most remote places with an impressive 4,000+ nautical mile range," its listing said.

You can find Hospitality in the water at Ramp E at the show.

The 155-foot Ancora was just completed in August by manufacturer Mengi Yay, its listing said. It is being presented by Fraser Yachts.

Ancora was built for charter use and has a master suite with a private balcony, plus four staterooms including two doubles and two convertibles, allowing for up to 10 guests, the listing said.

Summer charter rates with Fraser run from about $282,000 per week in the western Mediterranean Sea to about $260,000 per week in the winter in the Caribbean, according to Fraser's website .

You can find Ancora in the water at Ramp 2.

Next Chapter

This Benetti-built vessel is 180 feet and 6 inches and was built in 2003 with a refit in 2022, the listing said.

Next Chapter's six cabins — including a split-level master suite with an observation lounge and private study — can accommodate up to 13 people. It features a Jacuzzi, gym and beach club, and is built for charter use, the listing said.

The price starts at $19.9 million, and the ship is being presented at the show by The International Yacht Co.

Next Chapter will be in the water at Ramp E.

For $21 million, you can be the new owner of the Feadship-built Berilda, a 155-foot yacht built in 2001 and refit in 2020-21, according to its listing.

The yacht has "the highest pedigree with a documented history of excellent owners and meticulous care," the listing said. That ownership includes Royal Swedish Yacht Club member Sten Tegner, and Richard and Leslie Fairbanks.

The current owner bought Berilda in 2021 and has sailed across the Atlantic Ocean twice and through Europe, New England, the Bahamas and the Caribbean, the listing said. The yacht features six cabins for up to 14 people and quarters for a crew of up to 10.

Berilda will be in water at Ramp C.

Liberty, built by Trinity, is 187 feet and 2 inches, according to its listing. The yacht is designed for entertaining, the listing said, with social spaces including a dance floor.

Liberty was built in 2012, with work including a paint job, main engine rebuild, new generators and 10-year survey completed since 2018. The price starts at $24.75 million and the ship is being shown by The International Yacht Co.

The yacht has six cabins for 12 guests, with additional capacity for 13 crew, the listing said.

Named simply W, this 188-foot Feadship yacht is being shown by its manufacturer, according to its listing.

The vessel, originally launched as Larisa in 2013, had a major refit in 2020 and was renamed at that time, the listing said. W's owner changed the livery and antifouling, among other alterations, over the past 10 months, the listing said.

W will be in the water at Ramp C.

Priced at $20.9 million and being shown by exhibitor FGI Yacht Group, the 164-foot Tsumat was built by Trinity in 2012 and refit last year, according to its listing.

The exterior was designed by Geoff Van Aller. The interior by Ramón Alonso features leather, suede, marble and walnut, with onyx floors.

There are six staterooms for up to 12 guests and housing for a 10-person crew, the listing said.

Tsumat will be in the water at Ramps 2 and D.

The Nita K II is about 171 feet and was built by Amels in 2004, the listing said. It's priced starting at $23.9 million and presented by Merle Wood & Associates.

A refit in 2021-22 included an overhaul of the main engines and generators, and a 20-year Lloyd's class special survey was completed earlier this year, the listing said.

The interior was designed by Alberto Pinto and Laura Sessa, and the yacht can accommodate up to 12 people in five staterooms, plus room for 14 crew members in seven cabins, the listing said.

Nita K II will be in the water at Ramp D.

If it tells you anything about the level of luxury aboard the BG Charade, this 157-foot yacht was built by Feadship in 1990 for the late Paul Allen of Microsoft, the listing said. Under Allen, the BG Charade completed three circumnavigations and served as the honeymoon venue for Bill and Melinda Gates.

A technical and cosmetic refit was completed in 2016 and included new generators, rebuilt engines, new teak on the exterior and a complete electrical system update, the listing said.

BG Charade has six cabins for up to 12 guests, plus accommodations for up to 10 crew, the listing said.

The yacht will be in the water at Ramp 7.

Bonus: Talisman C

The epically long — 231.6 feet — and super-luxurious Talisman C, built by Turquoise in 2011, will be shown by Burgess Yachts in the water at Ramps D and E.

What: Palm Beach International Boat Show.
