……. Was an absolute blast. The boat was large enough to accommodate the big group. The crew was professional and also very fun. We enjoyed the sites and the captain went out of his way to make sure we saw and were able to experience what was available on our trip. It was great having cocktails , music, watching the sunset, and meeting new people as well.

Last trip of vacation

This day couldn’t have been more perfect. We were leaving that night and went out on the catamaran on the morning cruise. There was fun for everyone. My 2-year-old granddaughters spent the entire time in the jacuzzi. We snorkled, we went down the slides, jumped from the top. Had great food and drink . We didn’t see any dolphins but the birds and views of the park were beautiful. Our party if 8 loved it.

Ocean King morning cruise

Everything was great. The driver picked us up and we had extra time so he took us to see a sloth and take some pictures in Quepos on the way to marina. The staff was amazing and attentive. We had a wonderful time. The food and drinks were great. They had a photographer on board and we got some nice photos.

Fantastic Half Day Adventure!

So glad I went on this 1/2 day trip, my family and I loved it! Not a good time for snorkeling in August but all the activities and site seeing where fantastic! Its a big catamaran and seems too many people walking down the dock but once on the boat its got plenty of room. Great food and drinks…the staff were 5 star!

Celebrating my daughter's 15th birthday.

Having celebrate my daughter’s 15th birthday with Catamaran Ocean King was a magnificent decision. The day was beautiful and perfect, from the beginning they made us feel safe with the equipment and information about the security system … The beautiful adventure that awaited us. The tour included snacks, fruits, drinks and lunch, everything was delicious, they also have a Jacuzzi for the children. My one year old baby enjoyed this beautiful experience too. We saw dolphins and a whale with its calf, the beautiful coasts of the Manuel Antonio National Park, very professional guides provided us a great explanation about the area, we took a break to freshen up and do snorkeling, the food, the music and the staff, everything was perfect. Definitely loved this day, I really recommend it, is the best.

Fantastic guided tour with Beatriz

The guided tour of the parc with Beatriz was one of the highlights of our travels through Costa Rica. Very knowledgeable and made it fun and interesting. We saw tons of animals. She shared the mazing photos she took during the tour. Memorable !

Amazing!! Fabulous, stellar, beyond words!!!

Well, what can i say, on vacation with my wife, she didn’t feel great,

And the crew was more than accommodating, so I, love the sea, but with a prosthetic leg, jump from the the top, and guess what, lost my leg, lol, the whole crew was more than helpful, and there is Roberto rescuing m y leg, is not the value of the prosthetic leg, it was that I still have three more days and it didn’t pack another leg, he went down and with zero visibility under the sea found it.

This was the best day we had in Costa Rica yet! The staff was all so kind and helpful. It ended up raining later during the day, but everyone had a great time regardless. Cannot recommend this company and excursion enough!

Delightful Boat Day!

I have to review this trip with 5 stars because of the OUTSTANDING service. I was never in want of a beverage, we were very well briefed on the boat + safety measures, and the lunch was outstanding. Unfortunately no dolphins came out to play, and the murky snorkeling conditions were some of the worst I’ve ever encountered, but the slides and jumping off the top deck were super fun! A great way to see Manuel Antonio from a different perspective.

Safe way to really go into the nature.

We opted to take the tour with no guide, we didn’t notice we took the expert trail and we completed it with no issues, exhausted for sure but safe.

There are a lot of animals in the wild, so you need to pay close attention to everything, so you don’t miss a thing.

Great trip!

This was an awesome trip! The staff was warm, welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed everything about the tour! The price of the trip included a delicious homemade lunch, 4 alcoholic beverages, snorkeling, jumping off the boat, and slides. My friends and I had a great time and even got to see home dolphins swim right alongside the boat! We also appreciated that the staff told us about the dolphins and then moved on since they are an eco-conscious company and didn’t want to hurt the animals. I would highly recommend this tour!

Best Day of Our Trip

Went to this tour with my family of 6 and we absolutely loved it! All members of the crew were awesome and were really committed to ensuring we had a great time. We got alcoholic drinks per ride and unlimited water and juices plus snacks and lunch. Great tour!

Fantastic way to spend the day!

The catamaran was so nice – great facilities, incredible rooftop deck, water slides, front lounging nets. The staff was on point – Emilio took great care of us. Can’t complain about the food – the drinks were a little weak but that was probably a good thing seeing as we were sitting out in the sun all day .

The one bad thing (completely out of the control of the crew) was we didn’t get to see any whales or dolphins, but did see a sea turtle or two! They were being shy that day apparently.

Great Experience

We had a great time aboard the catamaran. It was clean and not crowded. There was plenty of space to sit and move around. Due to weather we were unable to snorkel but the views of the landscapes and beaches were fantastic. The crew was very attentive and the food was good, we had a great time. I highly recommend this trip.

Didn’t want it to end!

What a fun experience! The ocean king staff were all super friendly and helped make the trip excellent. They made sure my wife, who was 5 months pregnant, had everything she could need. The views were epic. The dolphins were a delight. The food was tasty. ¡Pura vida!

We had an amazing time on the Ocean King! The staff was friendly and attentive, the drinks were great, and the music was fun! Emma the photographer got amazing photos (well worth the purchase). Jumping from the boat and the slides were a highlight! The food was basic but not bad. Overall a great experience for all ages and I highly recommend!

Everything was easy and provided for. Spacious boat tons to do very friendly staff. Water was warm snorkeling was amazing. Highly recommend!

Big shot out to Francisco and Emilio they were really awesome. Emilio did a great job of providing service. Even snapped great pics of us and provided info on the area. The food was excellent big ups to the chef! I boldly went down the slide and my husband as well. He also jumped ship lol! We got to see some beautiful yellow fin surgeons when we stopped to snorkel. Drinks were on point, music on point. We watched the sunset and made some new friends as well. Thanks for the experience!

The staff was amazing and FUNNY! You can tell they are very good at their job and have done this a LOT. The boat was clean, the food was good (not great but good), and the drinks kept flowing. Overall, the staff is really what made the experience worthwhile

Great afternoon!

Had the best afternoon on ocean king! Saw wild dolphins, lots of colorful fish whilst snorkeling and a beautiful sunset. The food was delicious and we enjoyed a variety of drinks. The staff was lovely and very hospitable, taking photos for people and waiting for drinks. I would highly recommend!

The boat was new, well equipped & extremely spacious. We spent time in the jacuzzi, on the net & generally chilling out. Drinks were tasty & included in the price.

The best part of the whole experience, though, was the staff. Flawless service, enthusiastic & friendly, the entire crew provided a great experience to all of the guests.

If you are looking for a fun and relaxing way to take in the beautiful Manuel Antonio coast, the Ocean King Catamaran Cruise is the perfect activity for you!

The day starts off with a transfer from your local Manuel Antonio area hotel to the Quepos Pez Vela Marina where the boat is docked. This is a short drive and you will likely pick up some other travelers as well.

The Ocean King is a 100 foot long catamaran style boat that is outfitted for some serious fun in the sun! The main area has space for up to 100 people and the second deck has room for another 150 people. The boat offers two huge trampolines, two Jacuzzis, two winding water slides, an enormous bar, living room, and four bathrooms and four showers.

The cruise will take you along the gorgeous Manuel Antonio coast. You will pass by rolling green jungle covered hillsides that disappear into the sea, tropical islands and all around beautiful scenery. Eventually you will reach Playa Biesanz where the boat will stop for a break. You will be able to swim and water slide off the boat. Snorkeling gear will be provided to those that wish to do so. Manuel Antonio is not the best place to snorkel, but you may be able to see some tropical fish.

As the boat travels along, keep a lookout for marine life. During the green season you may be able to see whales or sea turtles. Dolphins are around most of the year and will often cruise along with the boat.

While you may see some wildlife, the main attraction is fun and relaxation. The Ocean King provides a Costa Rican style lunch. You will also have access to fruits, snacks, and Costa Rican brand alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

After returning to the marina you will be returned to your hotel. Including transfers, the cruise is expected to last around four hours for those staying in Manuel Antonio and longer for those staying in other locations. This is subject to change due to the nature of the tour. This relaxing tour includes transportation, drinks, lunch and snacks.

The cruise was enjoyable and it was great to see the sunset from the water. Logistics probably took longer than needed, having to drive to multiple hotels, then to Quepos to register everyone, then to the marina. I think if people were most interested in snorkeling I would recommend a different excursion. That part was short and crowded, with little chance to see anything in the water. However, we really did have a good time.

A very fun and enjoyable boat trip. My husband and I are boat people, so we loved being out in the water. The scenery was terrific, and the snacks and lunch were incredibly good. Staff on the boat were very nice. Snorkelling wasn't very good, but my grandson loved jumping off the top of the catamaran. I would recommend this tour to anyone. It was terrific value for the money.

Very fun cruise! Definitely a booze cruise and a daytime hangout. The staff were really friendly and made sure we had a good time. We stopped to jump off the boat, snorkel, or go down the slides. There wasn't really a "tour" aspect of it, but I wasn't really expecting there to be.

The boat guides were perfect, the driver who picked us up seemed irritated.

Was unexpectedly fun! Totally a booze cruise, but still enjoyable for the non-drinkers. Beautiful scenery, and we lucked out because we got to see humpback whales during our cruise. The snorkeling was okay - can't see anything. But, we still enjoyed swimming in the water. The staff on the ship were all attentive and the meal provided was good.

The food and drinks were amazing we had so much fun jumping off the top into the water, snorkeling and using the water slide. This is the best way to end the trip!

The tour was fine but too short.

Lively tour. I was lucky to see dolphins on the cruise. Music is old school but fun and the drinks and food were good.

We didn't know how much we would enjoy jumping, diving, and somersaults from the top story into the water. The catamaran is so big that other boats enjoyed watching the people from our boat jumping off the top deck and sliding down the slides. The fish and meal served as part of the tour was delicious. Enjoyed the scenery, and the dolphin families riding along beside us. Also, alcoholic as well as non-alcoholic drinks are included. My daughter really enjoyed her first time snorkeling as well. This was probably our favorite tour in the Manuel Antonio region.

The cruise was great for some party time. We had great drinks made by great bartenders, and seeing some whales and jumping off the boat to swim made our day!

The snorkeling was not that great but the cruise was definitely fun anyway.

Party boat,

This was probably our favorite day of our vacation. We met so many fun, interesting people. The food was excellent! Snorkeling was marginal but we did find a lot of dolphins to chase.

Getting there was a little disorganized. We had to go to their office first and then get back on the bus to go to the docks. But after we were there, it was very smooth. It's a party boat; and we had a great time. Food was great. The locations it went were very nice to see; snorkeling was great but a bit crowded as it met us with several other boats. I would have liked to see us spend a little bit more time in the snorkel stop so we could enjoy the slide and jumping off the boat a few more times. The staff was very nice, fun and accommodating.

Ocean King Catamaran: What to Expect

You can choose to be picked up at your hotel and transported to the Marina, or you can drive yourself (if you have a rental car) and there is free parking at the Marina Pez Vela. The parking area is located just before the ramp to go up to the shops. You’ll see a gate with a guard. The gate is open and you can either park in the dirt lot, or continue around to park underneath the parking garage.

Ocean King Office

The Ocean King office is in the covered parking garage and not in one of the shops above the marina. We reserved online but needed to pay in the office before heading outside to wait for the departure.

Both those who have used their own transportation, as well as guests who were picked up wait outside at the Marina. There is a small astroturf area between the shops. If you’ve forgotten anything, there is a great little shop right next to the waiting area. Perfect for my husband who forgot his sunglasses!

Ocean King Catamaran

Once the group assembles, you’ll be led down the dock and onto the boat. No shoes are allowed, so be ready to slip those off before you climb aboard.

You’ll be directed to different areas, depending on which language you speak for a quick safety briefing and then the Ocean King will set sail.

A few items to note: There are storage areas for your bags and your shoes below the seats. No smoking is allowed while on the boat.

The boat is large enough to carry around 200 people. Since we were visiting during the “off-season”, our boat had around 35-40 guests and a crew of 5-6. Everything was well maintained, and the crew was attentive with washing down the deck, picking up cups/plates and making sure everyone was having a great time.

There is a table with crackers, cookies, fresh pineapple and watermelon to start off the trip. Your ticket also includes 8 alcoholic beverages for adults and unlimited juice and soft drinks for kids.

There is plenty to keep busy while the catamaran heads towards the shores of Manuel Antonio National Park. There are two hot tubs located just behind the bar. They had one open during our cruise, which was fine with not as many people. The tubs weren’t warm at all, but it was a great place to just chill and relax.

There are also two large net areas where you can lounge with a drink and hear the water below. In addition, the top deck features plenty of sun along with lounge chairs, sunbathing chairs, and views for miles!

Manuel Antonio Catamaran Tour

The boat will cruise for around 45 minutes before it reaches Manuel Antonio National Park. Once there, the crew will give you a bit of information about the park. Be sure to capture some great photos of the islands and sandy beaches from this unique water view.

Snorkeling Manuel Antonio

A short while later, the boat will anchor itself just off the point for some water fun! Head to the lower deck and the back of the boat to grab a snorkel, flippers, and mask. Head down a small set of stairs and into the nice warm waters of the Pacific Ocean. There is a small volcanic island just off the point that is a nice reef for various types of fish.

*I’ve snorkeled all around the world. The snorkeling in Costa Rica isn’t amazing, but you’ll see a few different types of brightly colored fish and just being in the ocean is good for the soul, so give it a try. Visibility is pretty limited and worse so after a rainstorm. I’m an experienced diver, so I just dove down deeper into the water and it cleared up quite a bit.

A few tips, be sure to put your flippers on just before you go into the water…..and yes, flippers are really nice to have. Also, they require that you wear a life jacket, but they are nice enough to strap it around your waist, so you are buoyant without it getting in the way. The Manuel Antonio snorkeling experience is part of the trip and something you should try.

After your snorkeling adventure, swim back over to the catamaran to enjoy the two huge slides on the back of the boat. Or perhaps you are feeling a bit daring and you’d like to try jumping off the second deck of the boat?? Fun was had by all the guests and the crew were on hand to make sure everyone was safe.

Spending a day on the ocean always calls for a delicious lunch and the crew cooks up an amazing meal! From the flavorful fish to the perfectly steamed and seasoned vegetables, all the options were delicious and happily gobbled up by the hungry guests. I highly recommend the salsa as well as the homemade chips to go along with it.

Another impressive item to note, there was very little waste. Almost all of the items were reusable dish wear, which I highly appreciated. Drinks were served with plenty of ice and discarded items were quickly picked up.

The crew can really make or break the experience. All of the crew members we encountered were lovely. They looked like they really enjoyed their job and wanted to make sure guests were having a wonderful time. Andres was the boat photographer that day and he worked hard to capture photos of all the guests. If you decide to purchase the photos, it is a bulk price and ends up costing around $20 per person.

The rest of the crew always made sure our drinks were full no matter where we were on the boat and that we were enjoying the trip. In addition, they kept their eyes open to help us spot dolphins (no luck) and answered any questions we had along the way.

What to pack for your trip? You’ll want beach towels , sunscreen , a hat to help shade your face, sunglasses , bathing suit, and cover-up. For children, you might want to consider a child-sized snorkel set . If you get seasick, don’t forget a seaband or medication .

Is the Ocean King Catamaran good for families? Yes! We celebrated our son’s 5th birthday on the catamaran. The staff offers fresh fruit juice, water, and soda for children (free of charge). Children are allowed to use all aspects of the boat, however, I would suggest bringing your own snorkel gear as the catamaran did not have a good selection for younger children.

What is served for lunch on the Ocean King Catamaran? Lunch includes fresh fish, pasta salad, rice, fresh vegetables and chips with salsa.

Are there bathrooms located on the Ocean King Catamaran? Yes! There are separate men and women bathrooms located just below the deck. There are multiple toilet rooms with sinks.

Is there a photographer on board to capture our images? Yes! There is a photographer on board who will introduce himself. You can let him know if you’d like him to take photos of your family for purchase at the end of the cruise. There are multiple opportunities to view those photos and you can grab him anytime. We only had a few families on our cruise, so we ended up with over 100 photos! You can purchase them for a modest fee and it was a nice option to have on our Manuel Antonio catamaran adventures.

What are the catamaran prices for Ocean King? They have competitive pricing and we felt as though the tickets were a good value. Check their website for pricing, including transportation.

We shared the waters and dock with quite a few other companies and the Ocean King was the winner by far. We enjoyed having a larger boat with more amenities, the lunch was delicious, and the activities were as described. The staff was upbeat, courteous and always made sure we were having a good time.

I could see being disappointed with a max or near max capacity catamaran because the ability to move around would be difficult and the hot tubs have a max number of 8 guests each, but I wouldn’t hesitate to book again with Ocean King Catamaran (Manuel Antonio).

On board the Ocean King Catamaran you will be able to live a lot of fun and a unique experience in the central Pacific of the country.

The catamaran is 30 meters long, in this boat you can enjoy two jacuzzis for more than 16 people, two giant trampolines, two crossed slides, a wide bar and a main area for more than 100 people, it has a second floor for more 150 people, four bathrooms, four showers and a living room.

The tour takes place along the coast of Manuel Antonio in Quepos, during its journey a stop will be made at Playa Biezans, one of the best areas of Manuel Antonio for snorkeling, this activity is included in the package for your enjoyment. The tour also includes the search for dolphins and whales, since this area of Costa Rica is a privileged place for the Humpback Whale to mating.

Cancellation Policy for One Day Tours

The cancellation must be made 48 hours before the service; otherwise, a 100% penalty will be applied. 90% refund if you cancel 48 hours or more (10% charged to cover bank refund fees).

No refunds for no-shows.

No money refunds will be made in case the traveler does not show up on time on the day of the activity, maximum waiting time 15 minutes.

Reservation deposits are not refundable, in case of cancellation due to external factors; This amount may be reused in another activity scheduled by the company.

The Snorkel equipment has no additional cost, if during the activity the traveler loses any piece of equipment, they must pay an amount of $50 USD.

We are not responsible for accidents or road closures that lead to delays in the itinerary by the company (external situations beyond our control)

Due to weather issues that may present a risk to the traveler, the company must cancel said activity and be rescheduled.

During the activity you have access to a basic first aid kit, it should be noted that our staff is not a DOCTOR, so they can only provide basic first aid, if the client wishes, a private Doctor or Nurse can be hired and will be paid by the customer at the time of booking.

In the event that the traveler consumes a substance that alters their habitual behavior, the company does not assume any direct or indirect responsibility for any damage or harm suffered during the activity.
