  • September 13, 2022
  • , TV Show Recap

In Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 1, the crew’s already challenging task becomes even more challenging when the sails are up because they must manage the sails in strong winds and adjust to the boat’s steep lean while also resolving the passengers’ needs and potential problems.

On a luxurious sailing yacht with a fresh crew and equally demanding charter customers looking to follow the wind, the first season of Below Deck is set as they sail along Corfu’s pristine, blue waters. Onboard the 180-foot sailing vessel Parsifal III, chef Adam Glick of “Below Deck Mediterranean” is back in the kitchen.

  • Madison Stalker, 2nd Stewardess
  • Georgia Grobler, 3rd Stewardess

Episode 1 - Holy Ship! We're Sailing!

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Paget and Ciara

The crew embarks on the 180-foot-long luxury sailing yacht Parsifal III this season. With the addition of Chef Adam Glick (Below Deck Mediterranean), Jenna MacGillivray, Byron Hissey, Madison Stalker, Georgia Grobler, and Parker McCown for the charter season, the current crew of Captain Glenn Shephard, yachting couple Paget Berry and Ciara Duggan, and crew members include Paget Berry and Ciara Duggan.

Paget and Ciara are placed in the same department for the first time. As they rush to prepare for their first charter of the season with the boat in complete disorder, tensions between the old and new crew start to simmer.

Episode 2 - My Big Fat Bleak Wedding

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Jenna MacGillivray

Chief Stew Jenna is under pressure as she is expected to organize an impromptu wedding for two inebriated guests during the season’s first charter. With his new deck team, which includes Ciara, his longtime fiancée of four years, First Mate Paget is trying to maintain his composure and patience.

Parker, a rookie deckhand, finds it difficult to fit in with the upscale yachting community. While climbing to fix a broken sail, Captain Glenn makes a dangerous maneuver. Two yachties have a heated interaction on their first night out that swiftly turns their business relationship into a personal one.

Episode 3 - Ros?-Fueled Regrets

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Chef Adam Glick

Jenna wades through a sea of regrets following a wild, wine-fueled night out. She prepares herself for the awkward exchanges that will inevitably occur. When a party of fussy vegan visitors board Parsifal, Adam finds it difficult to meet their meat- and dairy-free diet demands.

Chef Adam gives Georgia a bad attitude, so she turns to her developing friendship with Madison and her developing flirting with Paget for comfort. As tensions between them increase, Paget is concerned about how to be both Ciara’s supervisor and her boyfriend. This makes them wonder if the charter season would finally get the best of them.

Episode 4 - Baby On Board

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Parker McCown

The final breakfast of the charter is served at full speed, causing stews to brace and dishes to crack. The situation worsens when the deck crew attempts to dock in rough water. Parker’s immaturity starts to emerge due to the stress of being on charter.

Paget and the group continue to get along during their night out, especially Georgia. Georgia is sent away in tears after Jenna criticizes her laundry system. Then an infant arrives as Parsifal’s youngest visitor yet. The yacht is filled with baby talk as Adam and Jenna’s romance develops.

Episode 5 - Shmexual Shmension

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Capt Glenn Shephard

Captain Glenn slips into an unpleasant chat with a flirting adolescent as Parsifal sails into high winds with a baby on board. The escalating romance between Adam and Jenna generates tensions between Jenna and her internal crew. Jenna gives Madison short-notice instructions to set things for a beach picnic.

Georgia adds more laundry to make Madison’s life difficult.  Paget tries to mediate while the guests watch Ciara and Parker argue about the chores of the deck. But when Ciara notices that the boat collides with the dock, everything comes to a head.

Episode 6 - Oof! I Did It Again

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Paget Berry

His patience wanes when Paget is left to take up the slack after Parsifal crashes into the dock. The crew fumbles to accommodate a new charter of males from Long Island as they set off in full champagne-sabering, chest-bumping splendor. Cooking for the brothers causes Adam to go into beast mode, but Jenna, who wants more from their relationship, makes him feel at ease.

The guests wander through beach bars looking for girls but dive into the booze. Madison must decide how to manage a problematic charter guest. Additionally, Parker and Madison organize an unruly yacht party.

Episode 7 - Oooof There It Is!

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Madison and Georgia

Captain Glenn takes his own and imposes restrictions on this testosterone-fueled charter after observing the guests throw an out-of-control party. While attempting to handle Jenna’s expectations, Madison and Georgia are on different pages.

When Adam criticizes Parker’s cabin behavior, Parker loses it. When Paget and Georgia swim together, Ciara observes them in an inappropriate setting. Adam and Jenna get into a heated argument on the dock because they can’t agree on the pace of their relationship.

Episode 8 - No Bra, No Shoes, Bad Service

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Adam and Jenna

The rest of the crew is put off by Adam and Jenna’s dramatic battle on the flybridges since they can’t agree on where their relationship stands. Parker resents Ciara’s bossiness despite her attempts to manage him. When the two start fighting, Captain Glenn notices and calls a meeting of the deck crew.

Despite feeling overworked, Madison finds time to grow more in love with Parker. After their first altercation, Adam and Jenna are in a precarious position. Madison and Ciara make a mess of setting up the picnic and earn Jenna’s fury.

Episode 9 - Parker's Big Adventure

below deck sailing yacht season 1 recap

Georgia steps up to surprise the visitors while Jenna and Adam pick up the pieces of Madison and Ciara’s disastrous beach picnic. Jenna learns the cause of Madison’s constant exhaustion. Parker tries to impress the visitors by carrying out an assignment. At the same time, Ciara stands aside to allow him to make his own mistakes. Jenna consults Glenn on the best course of action after reaching her breaking point with Madison.

Episode 10 - Big Deck Energy

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Chief Stew Jenna and Capt Glen

Jenna and Captain Glenn have a challenging conversation with Madison. On their day off, the team gets along, and Georgia, Ciara, and Paget become a little too close after a proposal. Kaiti and Parker get back in touch, and Kaiti is invited to travel to Corfu.

Adam and Jenna’s “shmexual shmension” finally materializes after a lovely day spent together. The high doesn’t last long, though, as Adam’s resentment flares up when Jenna and Georgia find out they have something in common.

Episode 11 - May the Breast Man Win

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Jenna and Georgia

Jenna urges Georgia to act as a stop-gap after Adam exhibits jealous rage. Madison works assiduously to regain Jenna’s trust while keeping her head down. Guests at the Playboy have some fun with seashells while posing for pictures on the sand.

Between Paget and Ciara, tensions are still very high. And Parker runs into trouble with a setup for a beach picnic, which puts him into a terrible downhill spiral. Although Captain Glenn steps in, it might be too late.

Episode 12 - New Chris On the Block

below deck sailing yacht season 1 recap

Glenn makes adjustments on board the Parsifal that drive the deck team crazy. Georgia and Madison become closer, and Madison lashes out at Adam for having Jenna over in the master guest cabin.

Jenna alerts Madison to who is in charge when she gets wind of it.  Jenna’s confidence is challenged by a group of social media influencer guests. A disagreement also arises at dinner, putting a relationship in jeopardy.

Episode 13 - #Awkward

below deck sailing yacht season 1 recap

Jenna’s resentment grows as the charter guests continue to flirt with Adam brazenly. Paget and Ciara can’t seem to agree on anything, yet Paget and Georgia get along like old friends. Adam surprises Jenna with a grand romantic gesture that backfires.

An unexpected marriage proposal puts a relationship to the test. Everyone is leaving for a meal on the pier. Jenna, Adam, Ciara, and Paget are served dinner at one table. And the others go across the street to the same restaurant for their dinner.

Episode 14 - The Birds

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - the boat tips over because of dead crows in the mast

The crew becomes tense, and the boat tips over because crows are killed in the mast. The bond between Madison and Georgia is on the verge of breaking. Adam maintains his distance from Jenna while Paget and Christopher Miller start a British bromance.

Georgia makes an effort to forget about Paget, but it is ineffective. When a group of delightfully uplifting charter guests board to honor the life of a close friend, everyone’s problems are put into perspective.

Episode 15 - You Snooze, You Lose

below deck sailing yacht season 1 recap

Adam and Jenna make an effort to repair their tense relationship. Madison and Ciara pick up the slack in work when Jenna joins Adam for a nap during her break, and Glenn notices. Paget hurts himself after Chris is harmed lifting a large water toy.

Ciara is left to bear more weight as the deck team hobbles toward the finish line. Captain Glenn summons Jenna for a meeting that could have long-term repercussions after observing the delay in service on this charter.

Episode 16 - Dope!

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Capt Glenn interrogates Jenna about her relationship with Adam

Captain Glenn questions Jenna about her friendship with Adam. One of the crew members receives terrible news from a doctor who visits them. Captain Glenn is astonished that someone might have taken illegal substances onboard the boat as drama is roiling throughout all departments.

The charter season is in danger of ending early due to a difficult choice and an upcoming drug search.

Episode 17 - Regatta Go!

Below Deck Sailing Yacht S1 - Finale

In the season finale, a tense drug search on Parsifal III casts a shadow on the crew’s last charter and causes them to become anxious. The team works frantically to organize a sailing competition, but they are still unsure of receiving a tip. A heated argument breaks out as the interior department’s simmering tensions reach a breaking point.

Georgia needs to express some emotions, even if doing so could permanently change some relationships. Captain Glenn sends the crew on one last mission. Time to celebrate Ciara’s birthday and reminisce about the season. The crew says some final and emotional goodbyes.

Ginges Be Cray

Watching rad tv and talkin' shite, below deck sailing yacht s1:e17 regatta go recap.

This is it! The season finale of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, are you excited??!! Yeah you are! Me too! I don’t know if we’ll get a reunion over Zoom, have you heard anything? I could always ask The Google… Alright, without further ado coz I feel late already, here is my BDSY S1:E17 Regatta Go ! recap!

We do a quick look back at the whole season to start, whole lotta chef Adam Glick and chief steward Jenna MacGillivray dramz, followed by the medical concerns of deckhand Chris Miller who herniated a disc in his back in the worst way right before the last charter. I thought First Mate Paget Berry flirting uncontrollably with third steward Georgia Grobler would have placed higher on the remembrance list, but what do I know?

That’s next, boy, they do show a lot of Georgia’s adorable bum, don’t they? Paget certainly seems to like it, more than his girlfriend and deckhand Ciara Duggan. Ciara just doesn’t take it seriously, which is probably the way to handle it, we’ll see how that plays out in the reunion.

Jenna came pretty close to being fired by Captain Glenn Shephard, who didn’t like her lying to him, lying down on charter and basically: being more interested in the D than her team. Third steward Madison Stalker did her best to not get involved, but he dragged her in and things would have gone all the way sideways if this wasn’t our very last charter.

Oh! And we’ve got a guest possibly high AF on our very last charter, Captain Glenn’s going to be dealing with that right.now. He wondered if perhaps the white powder around the guest’s nose was Adderal, but I checked my extensive knowledge of that drug gleaned from gossip websites and nowhere does it make you zone out and almost fall asleep like this:

Of course, that’s also true of cocaine…so? I dunno.

At the end of last episode, Captain Glenn took Primary Charter Guest Nicole Gary aside for a chat about the White Powder of Mystery. If it is cocaine, that’s the end of the charter, Primary Nicole does not want that.

(I mean, we heard loud sniffing noises. More than once)

The guest in question is called in from the water and denies there being any powder anywhere. He looks suuuuuuper high as he says that, Captain Glenn advises that he’ll need to check Billy’s luggage now.

Primary Nicole and Madison are witnesses as Captain Glenn goes through Billy’s luggage, he’s starting to get belligerent, calling the captain ‘bro’.

Captain Glenn doesn’t find anything, so the charter continues but now it’s super duper awkward. Madison and Jenna both start shoveling out the drinks, but Primary Nicole is stressed out and Billy is thinking about leaving.

This is a gross way to end a charter season, the tip is going to suuuuuuck.

Adam sends out a tonne of food for lunch with a smile on his face and everything! It doesn’t help Billy, who’s not hungry, just embarrassed and angry.

Paget picks up a couple of adorable sailboats for the guests.

Madison is working as hard as she can to make everyone happy again.

Billy does not partake in her special drinkies. He works himself into a lather and storms into Captain Glenn’s bridge to have it out with him.

Okay, he was drunk last night! But now Captain Glenn has RUINT his luxury yacht vacation! RUINT. Captain Glenn reiterates that he has to do what he has to do, Billy storms out again.

Captain Glenn calls Ciara, chief engineer Byron Hissel and Paget to the bridge to explain the plan for the regatta.

Then it’s time to race, guest Billy and Byron up against Paget and…one of the other guests who hasn’t had their belongings searched for illegal substances. And they’re off!

Deckhand Chris Miller is dying at not being able to be on these tiny little sailboats because of his back, that’s how he grew up!

Ohhhh Team Byron blows their early lead by capsizing.

Team Paget pulls off the W, wooooo!

The guests had so much fun that the mood lightens, whew. It’s time to dress for dinner! Since it’s a Greek party, the table setting is extry fancy; poured golden glitter sand and everything!

It’s Ciara’s birthday tomorrow, Paget, her boyfriend of four years, has gotten her a Leatherman multi-tool, just like every woman or person wants.

Byron and I are confused. He says it’s ONE of her presents, he just, erm, hasn’t gotten the other ones yet!

Supper time! Madison and Georgia celebrate: it’s the last turndown, woooo! Adam sends out a dozen platters of Greek food, it would be fancier if he plated, right? The guests think so.

The guests love all the lobster, plated or not, it’s kind of a quiet night for a Greek party, the guests heading to bed relatively early.

It’s 6:00 am the last day of the charter season, everyone’s up early! Guest Jeanette who won the regatta yesterday is up doing yoga on deck and I love her for that. Breakfast is served at 10:00 am, guest departure is noon. You don’t gotta go home, but you gotta GTFO.

Primary Nicole leaves a tip with Captain Glenn, he runs to blow the horn and I try to use my laser-vision on the envelope to see how disappointed everyone will be. I have to say: they were very complimentary about the service, soooo maybe it won’t be as crappy as it could be.

The boat needs to be cleaned, but first a little smoochy-smoochy in the galley between Adam and Jenna, then she wanders into the crew mess where her staff is eating. How did they think the season went? Well. I don’t think Madison’s gonna say anything, but Georgia jumps in. Jenna thinks all the joking around has been cool, everyone else?

Ohhhhhh so true and to her FACE. Respect.

Georgia’s not done, she’s got specific receipts, how about the jokes Adam and Jenna have been having at everyone’s expenses?

*Please, someone bring up the breastfeeding deckhand, PLEASE.

Jenna again defends the indefensible by saying she was making jokes with Adam because Georgia was asking stupid questions and that’s how she vented.

That’s what she says! Stupid questions. She says this to a junior crew member she was supposed to be training.

Madison and Georgia head to laundry to high five over Georgia’s awesomeness while Jenna commiserates with Byron, another salty dog of the sea. He agrees that junior staff needs to cool it, but alas: yachting is too soft now.

This is like the parents who yearn for the long lost days when they could torture their children properly and smack them whenever they liked, to keep them on their toes in case they needed them to fetch a beer or something.

Byron was the first to wish Ciara happy birthday at 6 am, I love how her whole face broke into a massive smile. That’s the truth: every single person wants to be recognised on their birthdays, everyone. Everyone wants to feel special, no matter what they say like: ‘it’s just another day’, ‘it’s really more for the kids’ ‘I stopped celebrating at 39.’ Every single person in this world should feel special on the anniversary of the day they were born, the world is a better place with them in it and you should let them know. I’m a motherhumping MONSTER on my birthday.

Ciara is super happy with her Leatherman.

*fixed smile is fixed*

(I do not like practical birthday gifts. I am never happy on my birthday because I am a MONSTER. Although this last year was good.)

Madison and Georgia hear the singing from their room and rush to make the end of happy birthday.

It’s the last Tip Time of the season!

And..it’s big! It’s $15,000, $1,660 each and that’s more than the last two charters and they didn’t even get searched for drugs! That’s awesome!

Aside from their wages, the crew of the Parsifal III made $143,000 this year! That’s over $16,000 each, which is not bad for six weeks work.

Adam and Jenna cuddle and plan in the crew mess while he thinks about using the L word with her. She’s the closest! But is she the one? Is he the one? He has a lot of rage and insecurity issues.

Georgia has decided she can’t hold her tongue any more, she’s got to say something about her feelings for Paget.

Awww yikes, lady, just leave it as an unfulfilled crush!

Oh thank the gods, she decides to tell her friend Ciara instead of Paget! Yayyyy! That’s a much better choice, but it’s still awkward. So awkward. Ciara says she knows, then doesn’t say anything else as Georgia stumbles through an explanation. “You’re fine.”

Ciara tells Paget as soon as she sees him, Byron’s listening from the crew mess.

THEN Paget asks: Georgia HAS or HAD a thing for me? As Byron and I laugh and Ciara stares at Paget. Hahahaha oh no. Wrong, wrong thing to say.

Everyone gets ready to go out or got to bed (Madison is in pajamas, but like, fancy pajamas, oh wait, she changed, never mind), time for one last crew supper!

I can’t help but compare this to the utter shambles of Below Deck this year. By the end there was repeated occurrences of blackout drinking, the threat of physical violence and no way that the whole crew could hang out together. This is a Salt Spring Island Buddhist Retreat compared to that.

Captain Glenn does a roundtable on everyone’s high point of the season, it’s so cute that Paget says the regatta when he means playing guitar and singing with Georgia. Jenna brings up the proposed threeway from so long ago, she can’t help but be an arsehole, can she?

Adam says the high point is meeting Jenna, of course.

Captain Glenn leaves his crew on the beach to stay up late and make bad choices, Ciara needs to stop literally swinging her braless breasts around, she’s going to take out an eye.

Georgia brings out her guitar, Paget asks, as her number one fan, if she can play the song in his head, fanks. She does, Ciara looks…not happy. She lays down as Paget sings along and acts out all the lyrics. Oh goodness.

Paget follows Madison and Georgia to the beach club dance floor to cut a rug, Ciara waits, then literally pushes between Paget and Georgia to separate them. More group dancing then an extremely stagey meeting in the bathroom.

Let’s break this down:

  • Georgia excuses herself to go to the bathroom
  • Paget asks Ciara where “Whatserface” went
  • Georgia leaves the bathroom door open
  • She poses, carefully taking sips from her flask
  • Paget just happens to find Georgia in the bathroom, thanks to the open door

He has something to tell her.

“Nothing.”

“Forget about it.”

*Closes door*

And that’s it! Time to go and everyone is going for good tomorrow, wooooo!

We’re doing LIFO, aka Last In First out, so g’bye Chris! I hope your back feels better! I hope we get Captions of Truth!!

Byron is next, awwww, his wife and daughter are there waiting for our huge gossip!

below deck sailing yacht season 1 recap

Madison is my favourite and she’s next to go, she learned that she’s more sensitive than she thought this season. She cries when saying goodbye to Georgia, that’s like her sister.

Ah a heartrending goodbye between Georgia and Paget, it didn’t only go one way, you guys. He was into her as much as he could be, given that he’s happily coupled up with Ciara, who’s been part of his life for four years. It was still sad. It still hurt, all the way from here because it hurts when you can’t be with someone you care about.

Georgia heads out, then Jenna and Adam together. It’s just Captain Glenn, Ciara and Paget at the end, see you next time, guys!

We getta tiny little vignette with Adam and Jenna camping in his van, but rumour has it they’ve broken up already so I hope they didn’t drive far.

Cheers and I’ll see all of YOU for Below Deck Mediterranean, back in no time! Wooooo!

below deck sailing yacht season 1 recap

It's been over a year since we last saw the crew of Below Deck serve, sweep, and argue their way into our hearts. Since then, the details of their adventures may have faded, but don't worry, because here's a complete recap of the hijinks the Below Deck crew got up to in Season 1 just in time to tune in for the Season 2 premiere.

As the crew sailed around the Caribbean last season, we saw all manner of guests, from the photographers who had their charter cancelled due to the cocaine they brought on board, to the bad tipping vegans. Onboard the luxury yacht Honor, captained by the amazingly deadpan Captain Lee, the crew struggled to maintain their professionalism, did anything that was asked in order to maximize their tips, and screwed up constantly.

Of course, by the end of the season most folks had their own trademarks: Adrienne peppered every interaction with "I'm your boss," Aleks had some seriously terrible eyebrows, and CJ constantly tried to take off his shirt. But if you're looking for something a little more detailed, look no further than this episode-by-episode guide. And I've made sure to include a few Kat GIFs that should help jog your memory.

Previously, on Below Deck...

The crew meets for the first time. Kat is one of the few who's spent years as a steward, and her resultant casual attitude about drinking on the job gets on chief stewardess Adrienne's nerves. Adrienne is an uber perfectionist who chafes with inexperienced sailors Sam, Eddie, Dave, and CJ.

We see a lot of partying and relaxing from the crew when their charter falls through (especially Kat, who manages to stay out all night and still show up to work in the morning), contrasted with the constant scrutiny that comes with a new group of high maintenance guests. Sam and CJ flirt, starting the most boring will-they-won't-they in reality TV history.

Captain Lee is disappointed in Aleks and Adrienne's management, so they get even tougher. Kat has to pick up all the slack from Sam's negligence… which gets her even more upset with Adrienne. Sam makes out with CJ, and UGGGGHHHH — I apologize, that's just my involuntary reaction towards this non-romance.

Adrienne's "friends" come on board, but prove to be complete jerks and the polar opposites of her Type-A personality. The show gets touching when Sam and Kat bond over the death of Sam's sister and then jointly complain about how they'd be much classier rich people than Adrienne's pals.

The guests sexually harass Kat, who drinks to deal with the pressure. Unfortunately, that breaks the rules of the charter, and Adrienne forces her to admit it to a furious Captain Lee. BLLHUUGHUUHHLL more gross Sam & CJ romance. (Just mentally add these two to every episode so I don't have to relive them talking about cereal anymore.)

The girls all try to switch rooms because no one wants to sleep near Adrienne while the crew plan a shotgun wedding. *Cough* — skip this one — *cough.*

Below Deck gets seXXXay when the crew has a canceled charter and get three days off as a result. It's a cross between a snow day and an episode of The Love Boat . Kat sneaks off the boat when the captain grounds the crew for the night, not understanding the difference between him "controlling" her unfairly and "being her boss."

Finally, everyone realizes that CJ is the absolute worst. Seriously, I would rather bunk with grumpy Captain Lee over clingy CJ any day. And Kat starts to realize that she might have a drinking problem, or, at the very least, a getting drunk problem.

Completely fatigued, the crew and the audience are suffering from claustrophobia and hangovers. CJ ditches out before the final charter, but he misses Adrienne flirting with the guests and the best tip of the season. Before you know it, It's time to disembark from the Honor and move on.

Congratulations! You are now totally prepared to receive the excellence that will be Below Deck Season 2 .

‘Below Deck’ Bosun Ben Willoughby Teases Trouble Waters Ahead: “I Had Hard Conversations That Didn’t Go In My Favor”

Where to stream:, ‘below deck’ star barbie pascual knows her attitude this season was “unnecessary”: “i see what everybody else sees when i watch myself”, ‘below deck’ exclusive clip: fraser olender shocked by primary guest’s meltdown over ice cream, andy cohen shocked after ‘below deck’ star barbie pascual shades his casting choices on ‘wwhl’: “read for filth on my own show”.

After one season and some change, Below Deck ‘s Ben Willoughby has finally received his long-awaited and well-deserved promotion to bosun! Former bosun, Jared Woodin, had been causing issues between departments through his erratic behavior and sloppy leadership , while Willoughby had been quietly biding his time and establishing himself as a mentor to deckhands Kyle Stillie and Sunny Marquis. When Captain Kerry Titheradge was forced to fire Woodin when he berated Stillie after a night out, Titherage knew Willoughby was the right person to replace him.

Though, Willoughby was the first to acknowledge that Woodin was going through a tough time. “He had a lot on his plate. You got to give him that,” Willoughby said generously. A skilled and steady yachtie, Willoughby was eager to step up and take charge as Bosun. The promotion felt natural to Willoughby because Chief Stew Fraser Olender would “often come to me as opposed to Jared for a lot of things.” “Fraser definitely saw me in that bosun role,” said Willoughby. However, Willoughby did tease “friction this season” between him and his frequent co-worker Olender. “I had to have hard conversations that very much didn’t go in my favor a lot of the time,” admitted Willoughly simply.

In addition to navigating the responsibilities of his new role, Willoughby also had to figure out how to traverse his flirtation with Marquis, which started when they were both deckhands. “It’s the first time I’ve dated someone in the same department,” said Willoughy, whose Season 10 romance with Stew Camille Lamb ended badly. “It was very difficult having to step up in a role and be someone’s boss rather than an equal.” Viewers can trust that complications arise between Willoughby and Marquis.”The relationship side of things [is] very much on the back burner for me,” confirmed Willoughby.

Willoughby stopped by the Page Six studio to speak to DECIDER about his new role, what’s to come this season, and the exits of Woodin and stew Cat Baugh in the same episode.

DECIDER: Ben, you’re in an elite group of yachties who have done multiple seasons on Below Deck . How does it feel to be back for round 2?

BEN WILLOUGHBY: It’s really cool to see the guys doing their first season, which I can relate to. I was like: “Oh yeah, I did that in my first time. That kind of sucks. I know where you’re coming from.” Especially with Sunny, to be honest. She was coming in gun hot, trying to show what she could do and was really excited. I did that last season with Ross McHarg. Captain Kerry was my third captain on the same boat, so I feel like I had got that advantage up my sleeve.

We love Captain Kerry! What was your reaction when you heard he was taking over the St. David?

It was comforting to hear a familiar voice in the Aussie accent. That was fantastic. He’s a bit shorter than I thought he was [laughs]. For my first season, Captain Lee and Captain Sandy split the time unexpectedly, so it was nice knowing that there was going to be one captain on for the whole season. However, I still had to prove myself to a new captain. It was like starting from square one again.

You seemed wary of Jared from the very beginning. Do you remember the first red flag you saw from him?

It was him dropping the anchor in the port. That was the biggest thing for me. I was like: “Dude, that’s the first thing you don’t do. You’ve got to let the captain know straight away. Anything you’re doing with heavy machinery, especially when you’ve got some green deckhands on the boat, you don’t want to be teaching them bad habits from the start.” Right then, I knew he wasn’t going to last. I feel like I’m a good judge of character. Speaking to him from the get-go, I knew he was a small boat captain. There are a lot of things that you miss when you are a small boat captain coming on to the super yachts. You tend to have lower standards. I knew I just had to bite my tongue and wait for my moment because it had got to come someday, right?

And it did.

I do have a serious question, though. Do you think American bosuns are at a disadvantage because they aren’t familiar with the metric system?

Yes. I was so glad I was not in Jared’s shoes when he was trying to call distances. But you know what? I don’t know the Imperial system all that well. When I was working with Captain Lee, I had to think on my toes. I was like: “Okay, meters to feet, you kind of times it by three or divide it by three roughly.” That’s what I was going off. You just kind of fake it till you make it. However, captains should know both. Jared’s a small boat captain, so I don’t know why he didn’t know both. That was another red flag I saw.

There were leadership issues with Jared from the beginning, but the rest of the deck crew really seemed to bond quickly. What was it like rooming with Kyle this season?

I don’t think I could have asked for a better roommate than Kyle. I had Tony [Dua] last season, who was fantastic. Kyle was just my man. He’d worked and lived in Australia before, so we had a lot of common ground there to build on.  He didn’t really give a shit about anything [laughs]. That’s very much the Australian way. We just got on straight away. If I had roomed with anyone else, I don’t think I would have had as fun of a season.

Speaking of someone you also had some fun with this season, I want to talk about Sunny. You two seem to have instant chemistry. What first stood out about her to you?

My relationship with Sunny marked the first time I’ve dated someone in the same department. Those were uncharted waters, excuse the pun, for me. She wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty, which is necessary for someone who actually works on deck. She wanted to jump in and help out and learn and progress in her career. I’m not saying that the interior team doesn’t, but they’re more, I would say, delicate. That’s probably the way to put it. Her work ethic is what drew me to her. And she’s gorgeous too, by the way.

I want to get into the Jared drama of it all. Could you sense his time on the charter was nearing an end?

He had a lot on his plate. You got to give him that. He was struggling to find a way to have a relationship with his daughter who he’d never met face-to-face. That’s something I can’t relate to, so I didn’t really know what was going through his head there. He was managing a big team, and he as struggling a lot with a new captain and a new boat. He was just very much out of his depth.

Did you sense that the night that he was wasted and kept berating Kyle was going to be his last on the boat?

Oh, I think he was done after the end of charter two when [Stew] Barbie [Pascual] went off on him. Like, I said, I’m a good judge of character, and I was just waiting for people to see what I saw. Once Barbie noticed there was something off, it was just a domino effect. Plus, I think Jared was a bit jealous of Kyle since he and Barbie were getting closer. Once his true colors came out, it eventually led to Captain Kerry having to make the decision to fire him.

You did not hesitate to accept the role of bosun when Captain Kerry offered it to you. How eager were you to prove yourself to him and the rest of the crew?

I felt like I was already in the bosun role, to be honest. Fraser definitely saw me in that bosun role. He’d often come to me as opposed to Jared for a lot of things. Nothing really changed in that sense. I was already teaching Sunny and Kyle how to operate the anchor. They didn’t know how to operate machinery. They couldn’t drive the tender either.

So, it was me teaching a lot of the stuff while Jared was doing whatever he was doing and being his own worst enemy. Since I was already doing so much with the team, I didn’t really have to change much of my mindset. It was just more dealing with Kerry and being more in touch with him as opposed to getting information through Jared every day.

This promotion did put your “shipuationship” with Sunny in a bit of jeopardy. How did you navigate the new dynamic together?

I think navigating it is probably the key word there. It was very difficult having to step up and be her boss rather than an equal. That was the hardest thing for me. At the end of the day, I came into the season wanting to get that promotion and be a bosun on the biggest boat in Below Deck history. I wanted to be the first Australian Indigenous person in Australian history to take on a head of department role on a platform like this. That was my focus.

The relationship side of things was very much on the back burner for me. It was very hard to explain that to her because she didn’t understand the position I was in. So, it was hard. Sunny and I went back and forth a lot while we figured things out. Katie [Glaser] and Ross did it last year, and it didn’t work out.

We also had stew Cat Baugh leave the St. David this episode. Were you surprised to see her go?

Talk about a double whammy. I was surprised to see Cat go. I didn’t know the extent of her interior struggles because she seemed all right on the outside. I got only little glimpses of her turmoil and what I would hear from Fraser and Barbie and the other people. Xandi [Oliver] is obviously very strong, but Cat, she just couldn’t hold her own. She was very much a small yacht stewardess, very California vibes. She was very laid back and that’s why she was having so much trouble. The super yacht industry is very much sink or swim, and she sank unfortunately. Two people off in the one episode. Can you believe that?

And we’re not even halfway through the season.

What could go wrong?

As she was leaving the yacht, you comforted Kyle by saying, “That’s the way it goes. That’s yachting, mate.” Is it a common occurrence in the yachting industry to have crew shifts like?

It’s not. It was also very unexpected the way she left because we were still underway. We dropped the anchor, and she got off the yacht. Normally, you’d probably wait until you get to the dock or whatnot. I think Cat was very much at her wit’s end. She needed to get off and deal with what she had going on. I don’t blame her. The yachting industry does take a very big mental toll on everyone. If people say that it doesn’t, then they’re lying or being dishonest.

On the trailer for next week, we get a glimpse of the new deckhand’s arrival. What can you tell us about Dylan?

Mr. Dylan [laughs]. He’s a very good-looking fellow, to say the least. All the girls were very much peacocking around him. Though, I think it’s always good to have what we call “fresh meat” in the industry come on board. Dylan is that. People love to get into relationships on board, so the single people are always looking for the next person to come along. Dylan’s fantastic. We went over his CV, both Kerry and I. When we got word that he was joining the crew, we felt like it was a breath of fresh air. His CV was very impressive. He’s definitely a contender for the lead deckhand role now that I’m not in there anymore.

When Bravo.com asked you to describe this season in three words, you wrote, “Almost broke me.” Can you elaborate on that?

“Almost broke me.” [laughs] I think I’ve never dealt with so many frictions between people and departments. Stepping up into the bosun role was challenging, at times. I’m very much a people person, but I had to have hard conversations that very much didn’t go in my favor a lot of the time. I felt a lot of friction with Kerry and Fraser specifically. I dare say that we’re not that close any more because of the season.

Captain Kerry dishes on 2 dramatic Below Deck exits: 'Things were getting pretty hostile'

"That's probably the fastest departure in 'Below Deck' history."

Warning: This article contains spoilers for  Below Deck , season 11, episode 7, “Cat's Out of the Bag.”

Below Deck 's Captain Kerry Titheradge called Monday night’s episode a “corker” during a recent Instagram Live — and he wasn’t kidding.

During a single charter, two crew members left St. David; bosun Jared Woodin was fired and stew Cat Baugh left for personal reasons.

Tonight's episode, aptly named "Cat's Out of the Bag," saw Captain Kerry lowering the boom on Jared following a drunken altercation with deckhand Kyle Stillie. But the heated discussion in the crew mess wasn't the only reason Jared was let go. During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Captain Kerry shed more light on why he dismissed the bosun.

Though he anticipated firing Jared, he wasn't prepared for what he calls "the fastest departure in Below Deck history" when Cat needed to leave the boat immediately.

Below, Captain Kerry shares how his mental health journey and being on Below Deck Adventure changed who he is today and greatly impacted how he handled the two crew departures.

Fred Jagueneau/Bravo

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: I feel like there's been kind of a buildup this season to what happened on this episode. We've seen Jared not know his distances and get very emotional, and then poor Cat's been having a hard time as well. How soon into the season did you know they might be struggling?

CAPTAIN KERRY TITHERADGE: Off the bat, like day one. The thing is, you can know it, but also you try to change the direction. There were other crew [members] I was concerned about too — and that's going to come out in future episodes, where we were able to work with them, where they were getting to a point of breaking as well. So I don't know. I think when you've gone through something pretty emotional, it makes you more aware of where people are at.

You shared your story with Jared and you really connected with him, so I want to talk about him first because he seemed to unravel quite quickly from that one phone call that he couldn't get through, and then it came to a head in the crew mess after Kyle spilled tobacco near the hot tub and Jared let him have it. We've seen crew members go crazy on the boat and party and scream and yell. How bad was the fight between Jared and Kyle that it woke you up?

I mean, it woke me up. Things were getting pretty hostile. Again, this happened a while ago, so there's only so much we can actually show [on air], but I was aware of where he was at. I put pressure on Jared and I do it with all my guys... it's a yacht. I know there's a TV show behind it, but it's a yacht and I have standards, and my standards are that I'm not waking up to a mess in the hot tub. And I'm nice enough to not go up there straight away and check. I've seen other episodes of Jared running around in the morning making sure [everything is cleaned up]. So I mean, that's pressure I've put on him, but that's the pressure I'd put on anybody to make sure it's right.

So things are getting wound up. And really, Kyle has tobacco up there, I mean, if I would've seen it up there, [Kyle] probably would've gone home. Because you don't do loose tobacco in a hot tub. That stuff gets on a teak, it gets on the paintwork. It'll stain. So [Jared] had a good reason to be doing what he was doing, but he wasn't in the right state to be dealing with it at that time.

I watched it again, and I don't see all those steps. I just hear this noise. I was really woken up earlier. I want the crew to have a good time, but they shouldn't be having a good time at my expense.

So did you know that night you were probably firing [Jared] the next day?

I was already thinking through where he was at. And the problem is when you're on your last warning, people don't usually get past a second warning and survive because there's too much pressure. And I can see him struggling. And I've got reports that he was drinking that night and I told him to stop the piss. You're going through a lot of s--- right now, mate. And there were more conversations than what we can show. We don't have enough time.

But there were more times I spoke with him about going through what he's going through and getting his head straight and being in the game and that alcohol is not going to help you make the right decisions. It's going to make things worse. And he told me that he would back off the booze, and that was from that first crew party. When I saw him break the glass, I left. I'm like, man, I want the crew to have their fun. But the other thing that people aren't fully aware of is my responsibility as a captain isn't just what happens on the boat. So if my crew is getting too drunk and they hurt themselves on the beach or falling out of a cab, that's my responsibility.

Do you think Jared could have been drinking a little on charter?

If I would've smelled it, he would've been off the boat faster than Cat was. So it never entered my mind that that was happening. What was happening is you hit the booze hard and then the next day you're not going to function as well. And what I wasn't aware of was Ben undermining him. So he had to constantly deal with being undermined, keeping his head cool. He [couldn't get through to] his daughter, the job, me... he had pressure from everywhere,

And you really tried to work with him. I also have to ask, what was the deal with his [Wi-Fi] signal? I noticed he was on the boat, he couldn't get through to his daughter, but then he was on land trying to get through.

I've seen a bit of chatter about that online because they see me talking to my kids and then him not. I'm on the bridge. He's trying to contact his daughter down in his room. It's like being inside a high-rise or in a basement. So that could address that issue. I offered him to use my phone more than one time to speak to his child. In the last episode, he had an iPhone and his regular phone beside him. I don't know whether he borrowed a crew member's phone or what, but maybe it was the other side. Maybe other things were happening in Alaska that weren't lining up. Do you know what I mean?

I will say that was one of the most graceful firings I've seen on Below Deck . He was being fired, but in the end, he left feeling okay. So kudos to you.

I was worried about him. I'm getting a little emotional thinking about it. I'm going back there. I've been in that low spot where I don't know if I can find a way out of this.

I've been there and what did I do? I quit my job and I came ashore and painted houses. I got out of there. I had to put the ego aside. I'm running a 300-foot yacht. I'm in the pinnacle of my career. I'm in the Maldives. I've always wanted to be here. I've been working so hard to get there, and I've got to take care of this. I've got to be there for my kids. How hard it can be? So if I never had been there and we'd go to the Captain Kerry of 10 years ago, you'd see a different person talking. I wouldn't be as gentle. I'd be pissed off and I would've made his mental health worse because I would've just drilled him to the ground. "You'd let me down. You had the opportunity. You keep f---ing up." You know what I mean? That was the way that I grew up in the industry. The boat doesn't change for you. You change for the boat. And a big part of me changing is not only my experience in that, but when I shot [Below Deck] Adventure , I was already on that train of mental health and stuff, but also able to see myself and have that opportunity to see [myself] from someone else's perspective,

And then to see behind the scenes how that's affected somebody in a positive or negative manner. So the show in itself has made me a better captain, a better partner, a better father, a better human being.

Well, it shows. Have you talked to Jared since? How's he doing?

I got with him before the first episode because I didn't know how they were going to portray him, and I wanted to make sure he was okay. Just let him know, look man, I know you're in a bad headspace. Got any problems, give me a call. I got with Cat, but Jared was in town, so he came to my house. We went and got a burger. I invited Jared to the watch party last weekend.

So he's doing well. Did Jared say that firing him was probably the best thing you could've done for him?

A hundred percent. A hundred percent. And he brought his dad to come to my watch party and his dad thanked me.

And then we have Cat. We don't know exactly what it was, but it seems like whatever happened was horrific. What was going on there?

I knew that she was having challenges by just seeing her move around. I'm surprised by how much trouble she was having at the job and how gracious Xandi was in training her. But it breaks my heart to see how much Cat was crying. And then she would come out and have to put a brave face on.

But she was really struggling. And as soon as I found out that she was in that bad place, I mean, there's no editing there. I'm bringing the port control. I'm ringing local Coast Guard. I'm ringing everybody. I could just see it in her face. I didn't need to know what was going on. It didn't matter what it was. To her, it was catastrophic. And that's something else I've learned on my journey is that it's real to that person who's going through it. It doesn't matter if it doesn't affect you or how insignificant it may seem. It's real to them.

That's probably the fastest departure in Below Deck history.

So how is Cat doing?

She's having a hard time seeing herself where she's at. But she said she's in a pretty good headspace. And I've shown her support — I say, look, if you need someone to talk to, I'm always here.

I know you jumped in once you were down two crew members. You're washing dishes and everything, so you were very cool about it. But were you freaking out that you lost two people in one day?

No, because freaking out doesn't get the job done. So don't get me wrong. There's a big... like, okay, Kerry, did you think this through? [ Laughs ] But it wasn't for me to think through. These two people were in a place where their minds weren't on the job because they were having some mental health issues that we couldn't take care of on board.

Catch all the Below Deck deck drama on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Captain Kerry promises the drama continues, teasing that despite newly appointed bosun Ben Willoughby's strong performance, he, too, may encounter rough waters.

Daisy Kelliher dishes Below Deck Sailing Yacht success, reveals if she still stalks to Gary King after scandal

Daisy Kelliher on BDS Season 4

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Daisy Kelliher has dished about her success on the hit show ahead of Season 5.

Daisy has appeared on three seasons of Below Deck Sailing Yacht and helped turn the show around after a lackluster first season.

Despite a serious rift in the dream team trio of Colin, Daisy, and Gary following Season 4, fans still can’t get enough of them.

Ahead of her fourth stint on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Daisy has opened up about life following her success and how she ended up on the show.

Daisy lost her job during the COVID-19 pandemic and at the urging of friends, she applied to be on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

Speaking with The Irish Independent, Daisy admitted that a couple of weeks after applying, she was filming Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 in Croatia.

Daisy Kelliher dishes Below Deck Sailing Yacht success

Although it may seem like Daisy’s life has changed drastically since she became a staple on the sailing franchise, she insists that’s not the case.

“My life hasn’t changed dramatically, but there have been small, subtle changes – it’s been fun,” she expressed to the outlet.

As Monsters and Critics previously reported, one big change for Daisy is her new friendship with Hollywood A-list star Christina Applegate.

Daisy also looked back on her life since her Below Deck Sailing Yacht debut, admitting she didn’t think she would get the gig, but is beyond happy she did.

“The last three years have been kind of a whirlwind, I really can’t complain. I’m getting to do all my yachting work and slowly getting to do other things as well,” Daisy stated.

With her fourth season hitting Bravo airwaves this year, one can’t help but wonder how much longer Daisy will still be on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

“I’m just being a ‘yes person’ at the moment. The last few years have changed very quickly, so my attitude right now is just saying yes and seeing where things take me,” Daisy spilled. “I’ve done everything from podcasts to the show, to still doing both, so every day is very different. I don’t know what the future holds right now.”

Along with opening up about her success on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Daisy also shared if she still speaks to Gary following sexual misconduct allegations against him.

Daisy Kelliher reveals if she still talks to Gary King

Last summer, Gary was accused of sexual misconduct by a production team member. However, even before that, Daisy and Gary were at odds over things that went down during Season 4, especially her hooking up with Colin.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans have wondered where Daisy and Gary stand today following the scandal and their fallout. After all, Gary was removed from BravoCon after the allegations against him came to light, so no resolution to his and Daisy’s friendship was revealed there.

During an Instagram Stories Q&A session, Daisy asked who she talks to from the show. Dani Soares and Gary were two names Daisy brought up immediately.

Although she did mention she keeps in touch with others like Alli Dore, Daisy also declared that they all simply live different lives. Daisy confirmed that no other cast members from Below Deck Sailing Yacht live in London, where she resides.

Daisy frequently hangs with Below Deck stars Fraser Olender and Hayley De Sola Pinto. She also spends time with Below Deck Med alum Courtney Veale since they live in London.

The wait to see Daisy Kelliher back on Below Deck Sailing Yacht won’t be much longer. Captain Glenn hinted at when the Parsifal III crew will be back, and you can read what he had to say here.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is currently on hiatus on Bravo. Seasons 1-4 are streaming on Peacock.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 Episode 13 Recap: Vive La France!

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

When last we left Below Deck Sailing Yacht , the Parsifal III was dragging anchor and threatening to collide with another nearby boat. The crew was scrambling to put fenders in place, while the new guests were wondering if their dream vacation was about to end in a crash.

Captain Glenn Shephard managed to turn the boat and slide out of danger just in time. “That was f*cking close,” Chief Engineer Colin MacRae shuddered. “My heart!”

“This is the first time I’ve ever gotten too close for comfort,” Glenn said. “P3 is gonna live to sink another day. Move on to the next crisis.”

Chef Ileisha creates sushi art

Once the crisis was averted, Chef Ileisha Dell continued creating a beautiful sushi lunch for the guests.

“Making sushi is an art form,” Ileisha told us. “I wanted to make something super impressive, so I’m making mosaic sushi. You’ve got to make every sushi roll [at] a different angle. It’s like a million different pieces of glass put together intricately. I think that’s why I’m a chef because I love creating beautiful pieces.”

And the finished product is truly amazingly beautiful. I gasped when I saw it and wish I had a picture to share here. It really did look like a mosaic. Too beautiful to eat.

Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher asked First Mate Gary King if he would be the “naked sushi lady” for the next day when the guests are having their seafood feast. “They’re not allowed to eat the ‘little worm’ that comes from the middle, though,” Gary warned.

“Ewwww!” Daisy squealed. “A snakey eel that will sneak up on you.” Even more horrifying is the fact that Gary refers to his manhood as a “little worm.” That’s just sad, Gary.

Colin’s still a little jealous of Daisy and Gary

Observing the banter between Gary and Daisy, Colin’s insecurities once again came to light. “Gary’s given me his blessings to pursue something with Daisy,” Colin interviewed. “Yet he’s still being flirty and pursuing her in a way.” That’s just Gary, Colin. He’s always quick with a quip.

“Maybe I’m overthinking it a little bit,” he continued, “but I feel like it means something different now.”

Later, when Daisy was taking a break in her cabin, she got a text message from her sister Bonnie. “I have a layover in Sardinia in two days, are you free?”

“OMG, yes!” Daisy wrote back. “That’s our night off. You should join us!”

“I’m super excited to see my sister Bonnie,” Daisy interviewed. “I know the crew are going to love her because she’s very free-spirited, so I think the change of energy might be good for me.”

“Can’t wait to see you!” Bonnie texted back.

“Me, too!” Daisy answered. “It’s gonna be so fun!” Yay! Daisy’s sister is coming to join the crew for a night out. What fun!

“She can definitely drink like a fish,” Daisy added, “so I think she’ll fit in quite well.

Hello? Are there any service people around?

As Daisy was relaxing in her cabin and texting with her sister, both Junior Stewardesses Lucy Edmunds and Madison “Mads” Herrera were gossiping in the crew mess about the near-collision earlier. Meanwhile, one of the guests was wandering around the boat in search of more rosé, when he ran into Captain Glenn.

“Hello?” the gentleman guest asked Glenn. “Are there any service people around?”

“Yeah,” Glenn answered, heading off to find one ASAP. This is not going to go well for Lucy and Mads.

Finding the girls in the crew mess with deckhand Chase Lemacks , Glenn asked, “Who’s on right now? Are you on?”

When Mads said that both she and Lucy were on, Glenn said, “Can you get up there? Because there’s guests asking for service and there’s nobody up there.”

“I never want to have guests come and ask me for a stewardess,” Glenn interviewed. “The standards and expectations that I set for charter one, they don’t change for charter seven. We want to give the same level of service.”

“You guys shouldn’t be down here at the same time,” he told Lucy and Mads. “They shouldn’t have to come looking for you guys.”

17 minutes without service

When Daisy returned from her break, Mads filled her in. “Just so you know,” she told Daisy, “I was going back and forth to grab clean cups and put them away, and Glenn came down and was like, ‘One of you needs to be up there at all times.’ And I was literally on my way up.” Yeah, of course, you were, Mads. But in the meantime, you were having a little chat with Lucy and Chase about how “challenges make you stronger.”

“It’s physically impossible to have a stew permanently there,” Daisy told her. “It’s actually completely unreasonable.” I think Glenn would heartily disagree with that opinion, Daisy.

During dinner service, Daisy was again in the galley when the captain came in and asked, “Is someone up there with [the guests]?”

When Daisy asked why, he reiterated to make sure someone was “checking on them.”

“I literally was there like five minutes ago,” Daisy answered, which was not true because the subtitle on the screen literally said “17 minutes without service,” and the guests were currently pouring their own wine.

“Just keep somebody up there,” Glenn insisted. “Just in case, because they already had to come [looking for someone] once today.”

When Daisy returned to the guests, she caught them in the act of pouring wine. “Sorry, Daisy,” they apologized. “She was just, like, taking over for a second.”

“Oops,” Daisy said in an interview. “That’s a f*ck-up.”

Vive La France

The next morning, Glenn was on the bridge when he got a text from the Yacht Agent. “We were able to book you a spot at the marina in Bonifacio [France] this evening until 11:00 pm.” That’s great news. Since the guests had requested a French dinner, Glenn was hoping he could actually take them to France since they were so close already.

Glenn was excited to surprise the guests with his news. “Good morning,” he greeted them, as they were sitting down for breakfast. “I just wanted to chat with you guys about the plan for today. Tonight we’re doing this Vive La France dinner, right? So I was thinking, why not do the French-themed dinner on a dock in France?”

They were all excited at this news. “That would be amazing!”

“So we’ll do a bit of sailing,” Glenn continued, “and we’ll go inside a town called Bonifacio … before dinner.”

“From where we are now to Bonifacio, Corsica, is less than two hours,” Glenn interviewed. “I’m trying to seize the moment and give these guys something really special. Going to one of the coolest ports in all of France, I think it’s going to be the icing on the cake.”

As the guests were waiting for breakfast to be served, they realized it was really hot on the deck where they were sitting. They wondered if they might want to move out of the sun or maybe up to the top deck, where there was at least a breeze.

“Do you guys mind if we move upstairs?” the gentleman guest asked Daisy and Mads. “There’s like a breeze up there? Back here, it’s so hot.”

“Okay, sure,” Daisy agreed. “Don’t worry, we’ll move it.” Not wanting to cause any trouble, the guest was saying they could move their own table settings, but Daisy assured him they’d take care of it. Nevertheless, the guests insisted on carrying their own plates and utensils upstairs.

Noticing what was going on with the guests, Glenn muttered, “That’s not cool. I don’t like that.”

“So they went up there just to catch some breeze?” he asked Daisy. “I wish we’d known. I would have asked the boys to put the awning up. Guests should never have to move plates on their own.”

“Yeah, I wasn’t to know how hot it was going to be,” Daisy told Glenn.

“I don’t know what’s going on with Daisy,” Glenn told production. “But the guests come on board, they have an expectation of quality service. Now is not the time to be dragging your asses. You know, even star athletes, star players, they still practice. They’re still always improving. That’s what I’m after. That’s my goal.”

Colin and Daisy catch up

Daisy paid Colin a smoochy visit in the control room. “How’s your day going?” he asked.

“Pretty sh*tty to be honest,” she admitted. “It’s more mental exhaustion.”

“Try not to let it get to you,” Colin told her.

“My sister will be here for the night out,” Daisy told Colin.

“Oh, really?” Colin asked. “I’m excited to meet her.”

“All crew, all crew,” Captain Glenn radioed. “Let’s get ready to sail.” Daisy told her crew to prepare the boat for a hard port (left) heel.

Chase asked Gary if he could pull the anchor, and Gary said sure. But when Chase started preparing to raise the anchor, Gary began micro-managing him, as Gary does.

“I think I’m finally figuring Gary out,” Chase admitted in an interview. “I mean, it pisses me the f*ck off when he’s on my case about dumb sh*t. But no matter what he says to me, I’ll put a smile on my face and do the work. I’d love to tell him off, but I’m just not going to.” Not if you like your job, I wouldn’t suggest it, Chase.

As they raised the sails, the guests were thrilled, “Who needs a rollercoaster?” one of them asked. But they wondered what it was like downstairs. Things were flying around down below, drawers were sliding out and stuff was falling off the shelves. Not so much fun below deck. And poor Ileisha was still trying to prepare an elegant seafood dinner in a galley that was tilted at a 45° angle.

Bonifacio, Corsica

When they neared Bonifacio, deckhand Alex Propson jumped into the tender to follow the boat into port. Everyone else prepared to handle fenders.

“Stakes are pretty high docking in Bonifacio,” Glenn told us, “because it’s a very long, narrow port. I’ve got little boats three meters off my starboard side, four meters off my port side and there’s no room to turn a boat the size of Parsifal. So we have to reverse the whole way in. If you can dock the boat in Bonifacio, everywhere else is kind of a breeze.”

The town itself was beautiful. Old stone buildings towered over the port. Several of the female guests were overcome with emotion at the sheer magnificence of the view. Even Ileisha came out of the galley for a peek. Meanwhile, as they passed a particularly elegant yacht at close proximity, the gentleman guest, whose name I think was Tim, asked someone standing on the deck of the other boat, “Do you have any Gray Poupon?” Tim’s a funny guy. He made me chuckle.

It was a tight squeeze, but Captain Glenn pulled off the docking like the professional he is. He drew quite a crowd of spectators on the dock while he did it, too. They may have applauded his masterful feat.

A walk in Bonifacio

When docking was complete and all the lines secure, the guests left the boat for a walk around town, accompanied by Gary and Daisy. Gary admitted to one of the guests that he’d been to Bonifacio several times.

While the guests were enjoying the shops, Gary bought himself a shirt. “What did you buy?” Daisy asked him. “Where’s my present?”

“You’ve got a boyfriend now, Daisy,” Gary told her. “I can’t be buying you stuff.”

“I don’t have a boyfriend,” she argued.

“Yeah, I think you do,” Gary insisted. “And I’m a little bit jealous.”

“You make things very awkward and complicated,” Daisy told Gary.

But then the guests were ready to return to the boat. “Welcome back,” Glenn greeted them.

“We missed you,” said one of the ladies.

Gary King, human sushi platter

A freshly showered Gary lay on a table covered in sushi, as part of the guests’ seafood dinner, while a shirtless Colin strummed his guitar nearby.

“I’ve had sex with Gary and I still wouldn’t eat sushi off of Gary,” Mads said. “That’s so just unsanitary.”

Even though the guests loved it, Alex asked Glenn, “You hungry for sushi now?”

“No, thank you,” Glenn told him. “Never again in my life.”

At the table, guest Tim asked for some “non-Gary-flavored wasabi.”

Exactly at 11:00 pm, Glenn prepared to maneuver out of the port, going forward this time rather than backing in. But that didn’t mean it would be easy.

“Maneuvering through this port in the dark is more challenging than doing it in the daylight,” Glenn said. “There’s a lot of reef, a lot of underwater rocks, so you have to be very confident in your chart work and your navigation.”

Once they were far enough outside the port, Glenn found a suitable place to drop the anchor for the night, and everyone settled in. Even the guests retired early.

In the boys’ cabin, Gary asked Colin, “Do you reckon you and Daisy are going to hook up again tomorrow?”

“Didn’t you hear?” Colin responded. “Daisy’s sister is coming tomorrow. Why don’t you go for Bonnie?” And they both had a good laugh at that idea.

Last day of Charter 7

As the last day of the charter dawned and Glenn began motoring back to the dock, Daisy asked for a moment. “Glenn, can I talk to you for a second? So my sister is in town, and I was wondering if it was okay if she came on our crew night out and stayed on the boat?”

“We’ll make it work,” he generously told her. “I’d love to meet her.”

“She’s a good time,” Daisy admitted. “Thanks, Glenn.”

As the guests enjoyed the sumptuous breakfast Ileisha had prepared for them, of course, they were all bemoaning the fact that it was their last day. Nobody ever wants to leave the Parsifal — except for the crew, of course.

Daisy was excited. “My sister’s gonna come this afternoon after drop off.”

An injury on board

As the boat approached the dock, guest Tim decided to go out on the deck and watch. Not realizing that the glass door was closed, he did a pretty hard headbutt with the slider. “I did it! Oh, my gosh,” he exclaimed.

“Oh, yeah,” Gary observed from outside. “Tim walked into the door. Yeah, he did.”

At first, his friends laughed at his mistake, but when they realized he was hurt and bleeding, everyone quickly turned serious. “Are you okay?” Gary asked, concerned.

Gary radioed, “Girls, can we get some ice, please? Tim just walked into the door.” But Daisy, Ileisha and Mads were gossiping in the galley and didn’t hear the distress call. “Where the f*ck is Daisy and the interior right now? This is absolutely absurd.” Meanwhile, poor Tim continued to bleed. Captain is not going to be happy about this.

At last, the boat was tied up to the dock and the engines shut down. Glenn immediately went to check on the injured guest. “Are you okay?” he asked.

“Could I get maybe one of the girls to give me some ice?” Tim asked Glenn.

Glenn was furious. “It’s been 15 minutes since Gary made the call for the girls to tend to Tim,” he said. “Why the hell haven’t they taken care of him yet? This is unacceptable.”

Finding the interior crew in the galley, Glenn told Daisy, “Did you guys hear he smacked his head? Can you get him some ice?”

“Who did?” Daisy asked.

“Tim,” Glenn told her. “Gary called it out about 15 minutes ago when we were docking.”

“If there was a serious injury up on deck with the guests, I would presume somebody would come find me on this relatively small boat,” Daisy told production. Um, they were kind of busy docking the boat, Daisy. That’s why you’re supposed to have your radio with you at all times. Sorry, not on your side this time.

Finally handing Tim his bag of ice, Daisy asked him, “Did it stun you, though? Are you seeing stars or anything?”

“I did, but now I’m good,” he told her. “I’ll be fine.”

Rather inappropriately, Daisy was laughing and joking, “When they’re docking, I tend to zone out.” Still chuckling, as the poor man pressed the bag of ice to his injured head. Not cool.

“Does it hurt?” one of the other guests asked Tim.

“My ego more,” Tim said. Poor Tim. I felt sorry for him. What a way to end his fabulous vacation.

“Well, I have to say we had the most amazing time last night, going to Bonifacio,” the primary told the crew. “Thank you so much for making that happen. That’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And I have to say we did appreciate the ‘tuna on Gary.’ So with that …” and she handed that captain the tip envelope.

“Thank you, that’s very kind of you,” Glenn told her. “Have a safe trip home.”

A tense tip meeting

As the guests walked away down the dock, Glenn radioed, “Can I get everybody changed into their off-charter uniform and into the salon for a tip meeting now , please?” Oh, that doesn’t sound good. I think Glenn is pissed.

When Glenn arrived, he started things right off. “We’re nearing the end of the season,” he began. “I know everyone’s tired and burnt out, but that is not a good reason to drop the ball. Please keep your radios on. Make sure that you have a radio working. If you don’t, come and see me. It’s a safety issue. We need to be able to communicate at all times on the boat. Apparently, I can’t stress that enough.”

“Just so you know,” Daisy said, “sometimes we can’t all hear the radios. They don’t pass through, it [doesn’t] come through all.”

“That’s an excuse,” Glenn countered.

“I don’t even want to hear about the walkies,” the captain told production. “It doesn’t matter, this is so bad. You f*cked up. Own it.” Suddenly Glenn’s channeling Lisa Rinna .

“Tim cut himself,” he told Daisy. “He was bleeding from his head for 15 minutes, and that’s unacceptable.” I’m 100% on Glenn’s side on this. I love you, Daisy, but he’s right. These people pay a sh*t-ton of money for these charters. They deserve to have someone bring them a bag of ice when they’re injured. At the very least. You’ve got no excuse, Daisy.

Next week, Daisy’s sister arrives. How much do you want to bet she’ll hook up with Gary? Ewwww. That’s kind of nasty.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK DAISY NEEDS TO TAKE HER JOB MORE SERIOUSLY? ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING DAISY’S SISTER BONNIE?

Below Deck Recap: The Purge

below deck sailing yacht season 1 recap

Jared is not unlike a Gremlin. Feed him alcohol after midnight, and you’re in for a very, very bad time. He continues to berate Kyle, ostensibly for spilling tobacco on the deck. It’s definitely not because he’s jealous of the time he’s spending with Jared’s possible one true love, Barbie; why would you think that? How dare you? He even manages to wake up the captain, not once but twice ,  which, considering the unforgiving schedules these people keep, is basically an act of violence.

Barbie and Kyle (his job is boat) finally get to watch their movie, snuggled up together in her bunk. “You’re a beautiful girl; love your work,” he tells her when he leaves in the morning, which is all I ever want to hear from anyone in any context. Meanwhile, Ben and Sunny have sex in the shower, or so some moan-y, frankly none-of-my-business audio over a shot of the closed bathroom door wants us to believe.

The next morning, our bosun appears to be even more of a mess than usual. Jared is like Pig-Pen, except instead of dust he’s followed by a constant cloud of frustration and confusion. Captain Kerry, P.I., tries to piece together the events of the previous night through separate conversations with Kyle and Barbie, edited together like a little baby  Rashomon.  Cinéma!

Finally, it’s time for Jared to get acquainted with the consequences of his actions. There is no front on which Jared has not fucked up at work: basic logistics, safety, inappropriate interpersonal conflict. This kind of behavior from someone in a leadership role is unacceptable, Kerry tells him. “Okay,” Jared responds. “Um.” Not that there was anything he could have said to vindicate himself by this point, anyway: He’s fired. I think Kerry, who’s been both patient and abundantly clear about his expectations with Jared, handled this as best he could. To keep Jared on the boat would be a “disservice” to him. Everyone gathers to wish Jared a friendly farewell — Barbie hugs him good-bye and tells him to go meet his daughter.

White smoke emerges from the bridge, in accordance with ancient tradition: A new bosun is chosen. Ben, formerly lead deckhand, has evolved into his final form, and he seems awfully happy about it.

The interior isn’t without its own personnel problems. Cat can’t properly fluff a   pillow; her surfaces are unwiped; her sheets are half-heartedly ironed. She is the Amelia Bedelia of the high seas, without ever producing an all-redeeming lemon meringue pie to save the day. On the one hand, she does a bad job, but on the other, she also does it very slowly.

A friend of Cat’s calls her, crying and freaking out, and Cat takes the phone into the bathroom to continue the conversation privately. She doesn’t share anything about the situation, but it’s obvious that this has significantly worsened her already tenuous emotional state. Miscellaneous family revelations: Barbie’s mom is a sex therapist whose job sounds like it involves more sex dolls than I necessarily would have expected. Fraser’s sister is currently flashing her “huge knockers” at Mardi Gras, as is her right. Fraser sweetly sings Anthony’s praises in French to his mother on a video call.

To Captain Kerry’s credit, he’s pitching in to help bridge the gaps while they’re understaffed, busting his ass carrying chairs around like a man of the people when their new charter begins. Loading up their provisions takes even longer than usual — Ben points out that, as always, there are so, so many eggs. Why  are  there so many eggs? Is  Below   Deck  a convenient international waters cover for a money-laundering scheme or illegal chicken-breeding operation?

Primary guest Lesley is beautiful, make no mistake, but I would be failing you if I did not mention her hairstyle: sunburned fourth grader on a Caribbean vacation braids at the temples with a Drybar Southern Comfort-style blowout taking up the rear. (Business in the back, party on the sides?) A mortgage professional, she is so enthusiastic about what a great time it is to buy a house  right   now  that I am prepared for her to start staring into the camera to pitch us viewers directly.

Ben’s reign is off to a good start. Even though the exterior is down a member, undocking   somehow manages to go much more smoothly in Jared’s absence. Sunny, who has apparently already dated a boss of hers in the past, is just happy she gets to drive the tender around. Kyle blows up an inflatable that sounds like a screaming fart. The guests ride Jet Skis while, back on board, Cat drops various things onto the floor.

For their first dinner, the guests request surf and turf — no French food, please. (“Oh. Okay,” Anthony says.) Barbie obliges their request for a Mardi Gras theme by climbing onto the table to scatter some masks, beads, and a few meekly flashing lights around. She hates it. The guests, however, love it. (So far, the worst thing about them might be that some of them call Fraser “Fletcher” or, possibly annoying him even more, “Frazier,” with an extra vowel sound jammed in there.)

The next morning, Cat fully loses her composure when Xandi (gently) confronts her about misplacing the cleaning caddy and failing to answer her radio. “I’m fucking done, dude,” she tearfully tells Barbie, otherwise occupied with eating an apple. “I’m over this shit.” Does she want to talk about it? No? Well, okay. Barbie resumes snacking.   Cat flees to her cabin. She sobs behind the closed door of her bathroom for the third time in this episode of a liminal place of secrets and intense emotion. I repeat: Cinéma!

Fraser comes to see her and suggests it’s time to put her mental health first. Weeping in his arms, she agrees. And so her tenure on the St. David ends not with a bang but a (literal) whimper. In many ways I am very sympathetic, as someone whose own brain occasionally requires me to disconnect and reconnect the battery a few times until the mysterious Check Engine light switches off. I’m also glad, for all our sakes, that she decided to leave. She cries in her post-mortem confessional. She cries as she steps off the boat. She cries as she boards the water taxi. Sometimes, on a clear night, they say you can still hear her sniffles carried on the ocean breeze.

Oh, Cat, we hardly knew ye. I wish you well and I hope you’re doing better. “That’s the way it goes,” says Ben in what passes for a professional eulogy. “That’s yachting, mate.” Forget it, Jake. It’s  Below Deck .

Hopefully the staffing service is running a BOGO special this week. With two crew members gone, the St. David is operating on double hard mode. But at least for now, the guests are happy, mainlining approximately three dozen eggs each —  plus  they got to witness and gossip extensively about a crew member mysteriously departing the vessel, which would be the highlight of my vacation.

Daisy Kelliher's life update since Season 4 of  Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Elsewhere in the series, Daisy hit up the slopes in Colorado, checked out Universal Studios , partied in Los Angeles, hit up a concert in Hollywood, and also visited  Lindsay Hubbard  for the Summer House  cast member's unveiling of her new Nashville home, "Hubb House Nash."

Daisy Kelliher details her visit to Los Angeles, California

In another Instagram post shared on March 4, Daisy revealed a carousel of images detailing her different adventures in California.

"It was another amazing week in LA. I just love how there is so much to do!" Daisy captioned the post, in which she noted how she visited Universal Studios, Mother Wolf restaurant, The Bungalow in Santa Monica, the club Lock & Key in Koreatown, the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, and Shirley's restaurant located inside the hotel. Daisy added that she saw the music group Kaskade at Avalon Hollywood for an "amazing" night out in the city.

Daisy shared several photos from her travels, including snapshots of delicious-looking food, nights in the club, and outfits for her California occasion.

Daisy Kelliher is friends with Christina Applegate

What's more, Daisy has also formed an unlikely friendship over the past few months with actress Christina Applegate, who became a big fan of the Below Deck   franchise.

"She’s a huge Bravo fan, and she reached out to me via Instagram, and was massively supportive," Daisy shared in an interview with the  Daily Mail on February 19. She said, 'Hey Daisy,' and we FaceTime and stuff. She's just so nice."

The chief stew also noted she hoped to "meet up" with Christina some day. Daisy didn't post any photos from her L.A. trip with Christina, but we wonder if they did indeed meet up during Daisy's trip.

"She's busy with her family and I know she is taking it easy, and keeping all of her energy for her [Multiple Scelorsis], but hopefully we’ll make time," Daisy concluded to the outlet.

More details from Daisy Kelliher's vacation in Los Angeles

Earlier in January, we caught up with Daisy when she visited out west. For the occasion, took to her Instagram Stories to share a view of herself taking in the beautiful sunset by the beach.

In addition to her sunset pic, Daisy also shared a snap of herself soaking up the sun on the gorgeous California beach.
