Sailing Yacht A – SuperYacht

This boat is called Sailing yacht A and is owned by the Russian oligarch Andrey Melnichenko and is worth 500 million dollars. It is the largest privately owned sail yacht in the world. For propulsion it uses an internal hybrid power plant that is assisted by a three mast carbon fiber sail. The vessel also features an underwater observation pod, so it is possible to see underwater life as the ship sails by. It also has a helipad, an indoor gym, a jacuzzi on deck and accommodates 74 passengers.

Sailing Yacht A is a sailing yacht launched in 2015. The vessel is a sail-assisted motor yacht designed by Philippe Starck and built by Nobiskrug in Kiel, Germany for the Russian billionaire industrialist and philanthropist Andrey Melnichenko.

The Black Pearl is a sail assisted super yacht owned by Russian billionaire. It’s design may have been inspired from the ship in the Pirates of the Caribbean. It is one of the most innovative the yachts ever built and uses a combination of wind power, solar power and engine power for propulsion. It is capable of transatlantic travel without even using its motor engines. Apparently it cost 200 million dollars to build.

Black Pearl is a sailing yacht launched in 2016, which is 106.7 meters in length. It has three DynaRig masts supporting a sail area of 2,900 square meters. The yacht was known during its build process originally as Oceanco Y712 and thereafter as “Project Solar”.

The Eclipse is the second-biggest superyacht in the world owned by the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. Eclipse features a hybrid electric diesel engine and accommodates a crew of 92 people. It costs 500 million dollars to build and has an upkeep of around 30 million per year.

M/Y Eclipse is a superyacht built by Blohm+Voss of Hamburg, Germany. Her exterior and interior were designed by Terence Disdale. The yacht was delivered to Russian businessman Roman Abramovich on 9 December 2010.

Yas Swift 135 – SuperYacht

This has to be the most futuristic yachts ever built.  The Yas Swift 135 is owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He is a politician and royal from Dubai. Yacht has an interesting design which is actually based off a former Dutch Navy frigate turned into a superyacht. Inside you’ll find a swimming pool, a boat garage, an elevator and room accommodations for up to 61 guests. It is not known how much this yacht cost to build.

Yas is a private superyacht rebuilt by ADMShipyards of Abu Dhabi, launched in 2011 and delivered in 2015. At 141 metres in length she is one of the largest motor yachts in the world. Named Swift141 during development, Yas is based on the hull of a former navy frigate.

A Summary of Motor Yacht SWIFT 141

Dutch Navy completed motor yacht SWIFT 141 in 1978. As such, she can be categorised as having been built in the Netherlands. SWIFT 141 is a yacht which had naval architecture and design created by Abu Dhabi Mar (Refit) and Abu Dhabi Mar . The megayacht SWIFT 141 has a steel hull acquired from the former Royal Dutch Navy Frigates. The yacht features a futuristic design with narrow beam and high propulsive power along with a remarkable interior and exterior designed by the famous Pierrejean Design Studio in Paris.

The New Build & Designing with respect to Luxury Yacht SWIFT 141

Abu Dhabi Mar (Refit) was the naval architecture company involved in the formal vessel composition for SWIFT 141. Also the company Abu Dhabi Mar (Refit) expertly worked on this venture. Interior designer Jacques Pierrejean (Refit) was employed for the creative interior styling. In 1978 she was formally launched to triumph in Netherlands and following sea trials and final completion was afterwards passed on to the new owner. Dutch Navy completed their new build motor yacht in the Netherlands. The core hull was built out of steel. The motor yacht main superstructure is fabricated extensively with composite. With a width of 14.4 m / 47.24 feet SWIFT 141 has impressive size. She has a fairly deep draught of 4.3m (14.1ft). She had refit improvement and modification carried out by 2008.

The TM3B & TYNE RM1C engine powering the yacht is built by ROLLS ROYCE. For propulsion SWIFT 141 has twin screw propellers (lips 5 blades). She is fitted with 2 engines.

I think we can see construction pics of one of the new Swift yachts in build by the Abu Dhabi Mar company. They are located in the gallery section of the website. Also since acquiring Nobiskrug and controling influence in French builder CMN,they are trying to have majority ownership of Blohm and Voss also? The first superyacht from them to be launched will be the Swift 141-meter followed by the 135-meter. Abu Dhabi Mar is building superyachts up to 200-meters long. These two yachts are styled by Parisian Pierrejean Design Studio. Both yachts will have a top speed of 26 knots. They are all custom built on hulls acquired from the Royal Dutch Navy that were cut and fashioned to meet design specifications. I was at the yard a few months ago. As you approach, it looks more like a maximum security facility than a boat yard. High walls with barb wire fence and security gate. Standing next to 141 you realize the size of this guy, it is very impressive. The 135 sits in the water with the superstructure removed waiting in line to be next.

Anymore news on the Swift 141? Should be launched by now right?

Don't know which of them but one (probably 135) was scedulded to be launched at the end of 2010 , that's what I've heard. Any other informations?

A lot has been going on behind the scenes but I believe that it is the 141 pictured above for launch this year. There were plans to convert a second frigate into what we have been hearing as the Swift 135.

The acronym SWIFT stands for the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication.

Swift codes are broken down into sections, in the same way telephone numbers are broken into sections, and every section reveals some information about the institution that was assigned this code. They consist of eight or eleven characters. Whenever an eight-character code is used, then it is referring to the headquarters (main office) of the institution.Here is how an 11-character code is broken down and what each section of characters represents. Section 2 (5th and 6th characters “ BB ”): This two-letter code represents the country of this particular institution’s branch and follows the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 standard for representing country codes. For example, “US” for “UNITED STATES”, “GB” for “UNITED KINGDOM”, CA for “CANADA”, etc.

Section 3 (7th and 8th characters “ CC ”): These characters represent a location code (e.g. “FF” is the code for “Frankfurt”, “KK” is the code for Copenhagen, etc.) and also the second character (8th in the B.I.C.) sometimes carries this information:

• If it is equal to “0”, then it typically is a BIC assigned for testing purposes (as opposed to a BIC used on the live network).
• If it is equal to “1”, then it denotes a passive participant in the SWIFT network.
• If it is equal to "2", then it typically denotes a “reverse billing” BIC, meaning that the recipient of the message has to pay for the message.

Section 4 (9th to 11th characters “ DDD ”): These final three characters form a “branch code” that refers to the particular branch of the institution. If this section is omitted, then we have an 8-character swift code that is assumed to refer to the HEAD OFFICE of the institution. Also, a typical naming convention is that in the case we are referring to the main offices of an institution, this branch code is “XXX”.
