Testimonial
My wife and I recently had the privilege of visiting and exploring your 47 Journey Cat and found it to be an exceptional vessel.
We were particularly impressed with the overall design of the boat and the quality of workmanship by the builder Jet Tern Marine. The boat far exceeded our expectations.
Since it is a catamaran, the interior salon, galley and pilot house were noticeably very spacious. In addition we were immediately aware of the 360 degree visibility. The boat does not have the ‘stuffy’ feeling of most boats its size. The materials chosen or available are of exceptionally good quality. All interior spaces and accommodations below deck were carefully crafted.
The back cockpit area is also very generous, as only a catamaran can offer.
The ride was impressive with the quick rise to a fast cruising speed. We were traveling nearly 20 knots as smoothly as if we were traveling at slower speeds.
And, the view and accommodations from the flybridge were spectacular.

The Journey Power Cat is designed for cruising and long-range voyages. Power catamarans, similar to sailing catamarans, have two parallel hulls that provide stability and a spacious platform for various activities. This 47 foot 4 inch power cat offers excellent stability due to the 18 foot beam and twin hull design allowing for a comfortable and smooth ride, even in rough seas.
In today’s fuel market, it’s important to note that power catamarans are known for their fuel efficiency. The twin hulls create less drag, resulting in better fuel economy compared to monohull boats. They are also very spacious, providing a generous amount of interior and deck space. The wide beam allows for expansive main salon living areas, with seclusion between cabins. Additionally, the deck areas provide ample room for outdoor lounging, dining, and other activities.
Journey Power Catamarans are designed for long-range cruising and voyages. With her large fuel capacity (540 gallons disbursed in four tanks) and efficient propulsion systems, extended journeys without the need for frequent refueling is the norm. She’ll cruise between 7 to 17 Knots, with a top speed of 22 to 23 Knots. At the lower speed, she can sip fuel at approx. 2.5 nautical miles per gallons.
The Journey line, as well as power cats in general, offer luxurious amenities and accommodations. Her high-quality finishes, comfortable furnishings, advanced navigation and entertainment systems, and spacious layout enhance the onboard experience.
Kenzie’s Kat is versatile, allowing for numerous activities, including cruising, fishing, diving, and entertaining. Her stability and spaciousness makes her ideal for families, groups, or those looking for a comfortable and enjoyable boating experience.
What’s the big deal about Wave Piercing Bows? The basic concept of a wave piercing bow is to have the boat go through the wave instead of riding up and then down over the wave. This particular hull design does not have the dynamic buoyancy that you find in most vessels, in other words it does not produce noticeable lift when running, hence keeping the boat flat and smooth through choppy conditions. Therefore, there is reduced stress on the vessel and the crew. This design also has the benefit of reducing the boat’s wave making resistance which means she goes through the water easier, equating to better fuel economy. The wave piercing hull design is in use worldwide by modern passenger and cargo ferry catamarans. The main reason is the boat achieves a higher top speed, smoother ride and much better fuel economy! The Journey 47 is one of the first production power catamaran using this innovative hull design.
Everything you’d want in a Motoryacht, and more. Kenzie’s Kat has a flybridge with fantastic visibility in addition to plenty of seating and a wet bar for hosting parties. The spiral staircase is super easy to use when compared to the common ladder style. Her back deck on the main level also has a wet bar and ample seating and spaciousness. You can access via the port or starboard transom doors, and the dinghy is stored off the stern which allows for maximum use of deck space.
The main salon includes the galley, a large dining area and other seating areas. The sweeping views from all four sides is both reassuring for the captain, and dreamy for the crew and guests. The main cabin is forward mid-ship and includes a full head. The crews quarters is bunk style with a second head. A washer/dryer completes your offshore needs.
These power cats don’t come up for sale very often. If she entices you, make a move so the opportunity doesn’t elude you. She’s in Monterey at the private Breakwater Cove and has an assumable, far-end slip with views you’ve probably only dreamed about. Make this package yours!

Well-equipped and with comfortable accommodation, the Journey is a 47-foot catamaran with 2 x 260hp engines, capable of a cruising speed of from 10 to 14 knots, and a top speed approaching 20 knots. Thanks to its 'wave piercing' hulls, the Journey 47 is particularly comfortable under way, even in rough seas, and above all, has reduced fuel consumption. A modern catamaran, whose ex-works price is advertised as $889,000.

Anna Karenina Musical Lyrics
Anna Karenina Lyrics
Theodore Mann is Broadway’s director, Patricia Birch is choreographer. Its opening took place in the year of 1992, after 18 pre-views, in the very small theatre carrying the name Circle In The Square. All the performances were held on the small scaffoldings, where even the orchestra was consisting of only seven people. Despite the huge number of primary & secondary actors in voluminous clothes (especially women in wide dresses), this performance has not moved to another theater. Critics embraced musical cool enough, calling it a parody, some awkward comic on the creation of Leo Tolstoy, the fragmentary & incorrect interpretation of the works of this writer. And so this piece of play lived-through only forty six performances, which is a very small number for Broadway (in fact, this figure is considered a complete failure), especially if it is work named Anna Karenina – those classics that hard to mess up. Despite this, the play was awarded with 4 Tony’s nominations (not so much because of production’s quality, but because it was outstanding amongst the most famous classical works). Also, this piece of play was granted with one nomination for Drama Desk Award. Only 15 years later, in 2007, recording was released, with such actors: K. Butler (depicted Kitty), Levin was played by G. Edelman, J. McCarthy (played Karenin), M. Kudisch (were there Oblonsky), B. d'Arcy James (showed Vronsky) & M. Errico (depicted Anna). After the release of the musical in Japanese in 2006, its songs became available on CD & DVD disks (directors were Dan Levine and Peter Kellogg). Release date: 1992 Last Update:December, 02nd 2015

- Seaman Journey
M/C Galapagos Seaman Journey is a first-class catamaran offering superior comfort, style and stability. Her maximum capacity of 16 passengers combined with the spaciousness of a catamaran enables both connection with shipmates and privacy.
Why Sail Aboard Seaman Journey
Choose the Seaman Journey for a stable, roomy, sun-filled Galapagos journey. One of the best aspects of this yacht is that she is a catamaran. The multihull design of the Seaman Journey reduces rocking while under motor and at anchor, allowing for smoother sailing. The shallow draft of the catamaran’s hulls enables the ship to get closer to shore, and this design also creates more roomy cabins and spacious areas above deck, making the Seaman Journey an ideal Galapagos yacht. Finally, Seaman Journey uniquely offers a citizen science program, with opportunities for guests to document whales and penguins for scientific databases.
Our Galapagos experts have been aboard the Seaman Journey firsthand. Read our dedicated Seaman Journey Galapagos Review written by one of our specialists, or consult this page further for a detailed description of the catamaran, including ship specs, deck plan, cabin images and photo gallery. Our small ship cruise experts have been aboard nearly every first-class Galapagos cruise ship . Let us help you compare the Seaman Journey with other small cruise ships , yachts and catamarans offering Galapagos cruises and private Galapagos yacht charters .
Common Areas Aboard Seaman Journey
The dining room and saloon/lounge area are on the main deck with large windows and doors to the outer deck. Multiple deck lounge areas are spread throughout the yacht; two bow viewing areas on the Main Deck offer a private reprieve, while the Upper deck offers a social element with tables and chairs, outdoor dining and a bar. The Seaman Journey is touted as having one of the best sundecks in the Galapagos Islands with her teak deck, covered area and sun beds on the top deck.
Dining Aboard Seaman Journey
Each meal on board the M/C Galapagos Seaman Journey features national and international dishes, prepared with the finest and freshest ingredients of the highest quality. In fact, most vegetables and fruits are grown on the boat operator’s organic farm, ensuring a varied and healthy menu. Hear it From Travelers Who've Sailed Aboard Seaman Journey
Surreal & animals welcomed us everywhere! I'd been to the Galapagos before, but traveling with my 8 year old this time. It now seemed vital that I book with someone I trust. AdventureSmith Explorations really knows what kind of trip people desire and they only work with the very best world-wide!
With very little notice (less than two weeks) Leslie at AdventureSmith provided options for a catamaran excursion. We went on the Seaman, which was a superb experience. Totally geared toward seeing the blue footed boobies!
The entire trip was awesome. The boat in the Galapagos was unrivaled. Excellent management of all travel plans. Our Adventure Specialist, Taylor, was great. Setting up this trip was simple and easy.
Wonderful trip to the Galapagos. Andrew Browning was very knowledgeable and accommodating in helping us plan our trip. Galapagos Islands cruise on Seaman Journey was absolutely great!
Second time to the Galapagos done right! No where else in the world do sea lions come to play with you. It’s amazing how the animals welcomed us everywhere we explored! When our boat was in route in between Isla Isabela and Isla Fernandina it took us a while to see the whales behind us, but the captain turned the ship around and all the dancing frigate birds above continued north and we on the Seaman Journey turned around to observe these whales put on a show for us. The marine iguanas would be baking themselves on volcanic rock then slowly walk to the water’s edge and then feed underwater on anything green. They weren’t underwater for that long but actually swimming on their side and seeing them swim back to land was one of my highlights. When a penguin was spotted everybody would silence themselves because it truly felt surreal.
Accommodations Review
Seaman Journey was a palace, a floating five star hotel. Our spacious room had quite a big bathroom for a boat. The sundeck up on the very top was the best lounging area, day and night. We had two outdoor meals, which made it seem like a super special occasion.
Every night before dinner we would have a briefing of the next day’s activities. I must admit that seeing a disembarking time of 6:15am made me a little nervous. But I felt for the Australians that chose to sleep in and miss out because it was a magical introduction to the island of Isabela. Our guide grew up on this island and shared stories of swimming in shark channels. Now the Galapagos are extremely regulated and not only for tourists, but locals have strict hours when they can go to certain places. I felt fortunate to have seen these sleeping sharks, definitely worth getting up early for! Yes the days were filled with quite a lot to do; yet there was time to relax as well.
Crew & Guides Review
Not sure how everybody felt when my daughter drove the panga back to our boat, but it was one of her highlights as she laughed the whole way.
Itinerary Review
Rabida island was one of the raddest reddest beaches I’ve ever been to! Also, this is where the sea lions played the most with us.
Transportation Review
We had been in Ecuador for over a month and all the traveling finally turned into a vacation on this trip when a local guide at the airport greeted us at 5:00am and took care of us. Then again on arrival in the Galapagos a local guide showed us the way. Being taken care of was relaxing.
We were assured that our luggage would end up on our boat and not to worry about anything as we hopped on a public bus to a small boat to cross between the islands of Baltra and Santa Cruz. Then we had our own mini bus to take us an hour from the north to the south where our ship awaits. I enjoyed this ride, as it was the greenest part of our journeys with a stop to meet the giant tortoises. Arrived just before dark to see the lively town of Puerto Ayora cheering on the volleyball game and all the kids on a fun playground (including my daughter).
AdventureSmith Explorations Review
I had plenty opportunities in Ecuador to book a ‘cheaper trip’ like I did before. But honestly I started to recall how poor my first trip to the Galapagos was. I started hearing travelers share their experiences about their boats in the Galapagos. I heard horror stories about different boats; bad service, poor gear, guides unable to speak English, and even hunger from running out of food! The wise mother came out in me as I was traveling with my 8 year old this time. It now seemed vital that I book with someone I trust. AdventureSmith Explorations really knows what kind of trip people desire and they only work with the very best world-wide!
Traveler Advice
I sure hope that if you’re reading this you go to the Galapagos with the best, and honestly the next time I go I want to bring as many family and friends as I can to fill the boat so I can share the memories all the time! No other place is like this in the world!

With very little notice (less than two weeks) Leslie at AdventureSmith provided options for a catamaran excursion. We went on the Seaman, which was a superb experience. Totally geared toward seeing the blue footed boobies! All passengers, except for us, were fulfilling delayed covid-trips from 2020. We had a blend of ages - including four pre-teen and teenagers. (Three families including myself and my 27 yr old daughter, a single woman in her 60s, and a couple in their 30s.) Everyone was pleasant and engaged during the tours and the meals.
Seaman was a wonderful catamaran - friendly crew, very comfortable accomodations. I was glad to be voyaging in the evening as I found the water movement to be comforting, not sickening. It was not too rough although we journeyed during the more volatile weather season.
Meals Review
I liked the variety of food selection. The chef was talented. The group meals were fun as we kept changing places at the table throughout our five days.
The guide that took our group of 13 was incredible (Carmillo of Seaman Journey) in his knowledge and obvious care for the environment which we travelled. Carmillo was superb -as was the crew. We had an unfortunate fluke incident of a broken foot. Carmillo, the Captain, and two crew members took us to the Emergency ward on Santa Cruz after dinner... on their free time. Carmillo translated for us with the doctor and staff, got in touch with AdverntureSmith - all communications handled professionally and with compassion by all players. It was a family experience all around!
We went on short notice to get to the Galapagos to see the mating season of the blue footed boobie. Our itinerary (southern islands) didn't disappoint and provided up close and extraordinary encounters with boobies, albatross, (and many different birds) in the most exquisite, breathtaking settings as we walked along cliffs high above the ocean. The snorkeling with sea lions, the kayaking, and daily expeditions were wonderful. The first day "education center" tour was a bit boring.
Given the SHORT prep time, really responsive. AdventureSmith was unable to help with hotel accomodations, nor arranging a tour in Guyaquil prior to the air transport to Galapagos. But we were so very happy with the Excursion Catamaran provider they found for us - Seaman Journey. Absolutely a wonderful customer-oriented experience. Very responsive and friendly.
6 to 7 days would be ideal. Pack light= casual it key with good footwear for hiking. Go on a small vessel, and definitely expect to be surprised by the natural beauty.
- Leslie Camacho
The entire trip was awesome. The boat in the Galapagos was unrivaled. Guayaquil was a necessary stopover but not that exciting.
Seaman Journey was exquisite. Great food. Great staff. Great guides. Tried to recommend to someone else already. All other hotels were above expectations.
I think on meals, a little more explanation would be helpful. Included hotel meals were a nice surprise as I didn't realize as many were included as they were.
Guide Andres on Seaman was funny, a unique individual with great knowledge. He was excellent.
Excellent management of all travel plans. Taylor was great. Setting up this trip was simple and easy and she was helpful with any and all my questions.
Don't trust weather websites on the weather in the Galapagos. It is entirely island dependent and we overpacked warm clothes a bit.
Seaman Journey was a wonderful catamaran! The crew and the accommodations were absolutely first class. The seas were very rocky (because we traveled in July), and there were times that we were airborne in our bunks at night. We were thankful that we had the Scop patches!
NOTHING could be improved as far as the food was concerned. Fresh salads, good meals were all beautifully served and delicious!
Our naturalist, Daniel Gordillo, was extremely knowledgeable, professional and passionate about his work. He gave us a real feel for the wildlife and these wonderful islands. Since our trip was a little unconventional (as we left the cruise on Santa Cruz and took a motorboat to San Cristobal), Daniel actually accompanied us to our island (as he lives there).
We were very well prepared for this trip. However, that being said, it surpassed our expectations.
We would absolutely recommend AdventureSmith to anyone! The person we dealt with, Andrew Browning, was extremely professional and accommodating. We didn't book this trip until about 6 weeks before departure, and he gave us about 4 cruise options to choose from.
You can pack light! Everything was very casual ... bring plenty of sunscreen!
- Andrew Browning

Hi everyone,
I posted a detailed review in the Consulate reviews section, so if you're interested you can read it here .
I had no problem getting into the Embassy because we called and emailed beforehand to make sure my name was on the list. If you are the petitioner and are planning to accompany your spouse, definitely do this as it'll just be one less bit of stress for you in this process. Indeed, they had a separate list and I saw my name there, so they check these kinds of things.
There were A LOT of people there, a huge line outside the Embassy, but it moved very quickly. The immigrant visa area was also jam packed and crowded with people. We were number 10 in the line. The whole process took about 3 hours from start to finish, mostly just waiting until we were called. Get there early! I'd imagine the later you come, the longer you will wait. We arrived at 8:00am, but our official appointment was 8:30am.
Registration/fingerprinting:
This process took only a few minutes, but we had to wait for about an hour and a half before they called our number.
The registration woman asked my husband his age and his name, where he is working, has he ever had any other names and if he has lived anywhere else besides Russia. She then asked for the following documents:
- Original Russian marriage certificate (no copy/translation necessary; it was returned after the interview)
- Original Russian birth certificate (no copy/translation necessary; it was returned after the interview)
- Original military ticket/booklet (they asked us for a copy as well, we handed them a complete copy with a complete translation and they kept it; the original was returned after the interview)
- Original police certificate (they also asked for a copy, so we gave her the copy plus translation, but they kept the original. This was the only original document they didn't return to us.)
- My husband's foreign passport (no copy was necessary)
The lady then asked for "financial documents," by which she meant the Affidavit of Support (I-864). I handed her a huge stack of these papers which included:
- Letter of explanation for why I wasn't required to file taxes
- Cover letter explaining my proof of domicile in the US, plus evidence to support that (voting record, mail received at US address, letter of resignation from job in Russia, etc.)
- My joint sponsor's I-864 (the lady asked me: "Is this your mother?" and I affirmed that my mom was the joint-sponsor.)
- Cover letter written by my joint sponsor explaining her financial situation
- My joint sponsor's household member I-864A form
- My joint sponsor's IRS transcripts for the last three years, and copies of W-2 forms as well
- My joint sponsor's bank statements for the last 12 months (this was necessary because we used assets)
- My joint sponsor's proof of US domicile, including US birth certificate, marriage certificate (because of the household member), and copies of the joint sponsor and household member's passports.
After all that, they took my husband's fingerprints. We then waited another hour and they called our number again, this time for the interview.
Our interview was extremely short, much shorter than what I had read and heard about previous DCF Moscow experiences. The IO was extremely friendly. Both my husband and I went into the interview room together, and I thought that perhaps they would separate us and interview us separately, but I just sat down and she started interviewing us together. First, my husband took the oath in Russian, and then she started asking him questions in English. She asked him only two questions: "What do you do for work?" and "How did the two of you meet?". She typed in some information while he was answering. After that, she asked me three questions: "Does your mother (joint sponsor) have anyone else in her household (brothers or sisters)?" "How long have you been living in Russia?" and "Where are you planning to move back to in the US?" She also was a bit confused by the huge stack of papers, and she asked me if my mom had filled out an I-864, I told her yes, it's there in the pile somewhere. She found it and then she asked my husband when he had taken the medical exam, we explained that we'd done it a few days earlier. Then she said that "Everything looks great" and that as soon as the results of the medical are in, we should expect the approved visa to arrive about a week later. She basically told us we were approved! Woohoo! (They kept the passport obviously.)
I just want to say thanks to everyone on VJ! I seriously couldn't have done it without this site. Thanks again for everyone's input and advice!
